![]() Charlatan |
(4) 5/2(-43%) | (4) Charlatan 5/2, Course winner who shaped well when second of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 3/1) 23 days ago, going well long way but headed close home. Big shout at these weights. Dropping back to a sharp 7f is the concern but he's in the mix after latest near miss. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Autumn Angel |
(1) 11/4(+0%) | (1) Autumn Angel 11/4, Resumed winning ways in 12-runner minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 7/2) 5 days ago. Very much one to consider despite conceding weight all round. In the zone and defied a wide trip at Wolverhampton; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ajrad |
(2) 6/1(+14%) | (2) Ajrad 6/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chepstow in September. Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 5/1) 23 days ago. Considered. Pops up now and again with a good run and Polytrack suits better than Tapeta. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dourado |
(5) 10/1(-25%) | (5) Dourado 10/1, Modest horse. 25/1, tenth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 67 days ago. Others more persuasive. Six wins include two on the AW; howver, very poor the last twice and he's an 11yo now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Reel Power |
(8) 12/1(+0%) | (8) Reel Power 12/1, Modest gelding. 25/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 24 days ago. Can make presence felt if shrugging off latest effort. Placed at Kempton two runs back but pretty much tailed off on either side of it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Outreach |
(7) 14/1(+13%) | (7) Outreach 14/1, Poor gelding. Below-form seventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 16/1) 17 days ago, never nearer. Others appeal more. Both wins on Tapeta but a greater concern would be his recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() So Chic |
(10) 14/1(+30%) | (10) So Chic 14/1, C&D winner for John Long but only eighth of 11 for her new yard in handicap (50/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 30 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere. Wasn't in bad form up until March last year but the wheels have come off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Alice's Impact |
(3) 18/1(-29%) | (3) Alice's Impact 18/1, Blinkered for 1st time, last of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 33/1) 72 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. First run for yard after leaving John & Sean Quinn with more needed. The ability is there should David Evans reverse her fortunes; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lupset Flossy Pop |
(6) 20/1(+20%) | (6) Lupset Flossy Pop 20/1, One win from 31 Flat runs. Twenty four runs since last win in 2022. Last of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 28/1) 22 days ago. Has won once in 31 starts and trailed in last after a break at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tea Leaf Ted |
(11) 25/1(-25%) | (11) Tea Leaf Ted 25/1, Poor gelding. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 14/1) 24 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. No forlorn hope. Nothing to shout about in six starts since going very close in a handicap last January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Run Joy Run |
(9) 33/1(+34%) | (9) Run Joy Run 33/1, Modest filly. Visored for 1st time, tenth of 14 in handicap (100/1) at Kempton (8f). Off 93 days. First run for yard after leaving Adam West with more required. Winning handicapper for Adam West for whom he lost her way; lots to prove after a break. |
AUTUMN ANGEL has thrived of late and backed up a recent handicap success over 6f at Wolverhampton with a successful return to that track and trip in a classified stakes on Tuesday. Turning her out quickly at the same level is a logical move and the Tony Carroll-trained mare is hard to oppose, despite having an additional furlong to tackle. Charlatan also looks worth a try back at 7f in this company, while a bold showing from Dourado is not ruled out.
CHARLATAN is the only one to know at these weights and can bag a second course success at the main expense of recent Wolverhampton scorer Autumn Angel. C&D winner Ajrad can't be ruled out either, with Tea Leaf Ted completing the shortlist.
A few of these have the form to feature but need to find a spark from somewhere. Not so AUTUMN ANGEL who is in cracking form.

![]() Shantou Princess |
(11) 2/1(+27%) | (11) Shantou Princess 2/1, Fair hurdler. 4/1, proved a different proposition upped markedly in trip when winning 19-runner handicap hurdle at this course (23.8f, soft) 33 days ago. Makes chase debut and this previous point winner merits considerable respect. Off the mark in a 3m handicap hurdle here last month; winning pointer and could go well. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Brucejack |
(1) 3/1(+33%) | (1) Brucejack 3/1, Ran pretty well from 9 lb out of the handicap when fifth of 13 at Fairyhouse (29.7f, good, 6/1) 6 weeks ago. Back down in trip and has plenty of chasing experience. Useful staying second season chaser; effective over shorter trips too and should go close. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Coumeenoole |
(2) 4/1(+38%) | (2) Coumeenoole 4/1, Bettered previous effort when fourth of 14 in maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (23.2f, good to soft, 18/1) 29 days ago. Makes chase debut (won sole start in points). Winning pointer; some ability in a trio of maiden hurdles but more of a chasing type. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() On Lovers Walk |
(8) 15/2(-125%) | (8) On Lovers Walk 15/2, 28/1, seemed to excel himself second time up over fences when second of 9 in beginners chase at Down Royal (20.6f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Every chance he can go one better. Touched off on the line in a similar beginners chase at Down Royal last month; big player. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rokathir |
(9) 10/1(-33%) | (9) Rokathir 10/1, 16/1, failed to repeat previous effort when tailed-off twelfth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Tipperary (24f, good to soft). Off 8 months. Being a previous point winner, chasing could well be his game. Likely to do better over fences and the market could be a good guide. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Western Model |
(10) 14/1(+30%) | (10) Western Model 14/1, Fair hurdler. Went backwards from chasing bow when well-beaten ninth of 12 in beginners chase at Cork (21.2f, soft, 14/1) 30 days ago. Ran okay on his chase debut at Tramore in November; failed to match that at Cork since. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Low Style |
(6) 20/1(+29%) | (6) Low Style 20/1, Fair hurdler. 28/1, showed nothing after another 7 months off when pulled up in novice chase at this course (16.6f, good) 58 days ago, struggling before 4 out. Significantly up in trip. No show in two starts over fences; steps up in trip here; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() He's Home Again |
(5) 33/1(-65%) | (5) He's Home Again 33/1, Fair hurdler. 100/1, offered little after 7 months off when tailed-off tenth of 12 in beginners chase at Galway (22.5f, soft) on debut over fences 11 weeks ago. Winning hurdler; no show on his chase debut at Galway in October; best watched for now. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ney |
(7) 33/1(-18%) | (7) Ney 33/1, Fairly useful hurdler for Mrs Prunella Dobbs in 2022/23. 13/2, again ran poorly when tenth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (14f, good) when last seen 6 months ago. Makes chase debut. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Danny Brooke. Debuts for his current yard after a spell on the Flat in Britain; others appeal much more. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Futurum Regem |
(4) 125/1(-213%) | (4) Futurum Regem 125/1, Fair hurdler. Out of his depth when tailed-off eighth of 9 in beginners chase (200/1) at this course (23.3f, soft) on debut over fences 33 days ago. Jumped poorly on his chasing debut here last month; drops in class and should do better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Diamond Duke |
(3) 150/1(-275%) | (3) Diamond Duke 150/1, First run since leaving M. F. Morris when tailed-off ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (20.4f, soft, 20/1) 51 days ago. Makes chase debut. Blinkered for 1st time. Not much to recommend from five runs over hurdles; tried in blinkers; others preferred. |
BRUCEJACK has plenty of experience over fences, which may give him a vital edge. The selection has filled the runner-up spot twice in similar events over slightly shorter trips and has also run well in competitive staying handicaps, including when fifth last time in the Porterstown at Fairyhouse. On Lovers Walk won two point-to-points and went close last time in a 2m4f Down Royal chase, while Shantou Princess was also successful between the flags and switches to fences after landing a 3m handicap hurdle here last month. Western Model won a handicap hurdle here last spring and riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to Coumeenoole, while point winner Rokathir is another to consider.
ON LOVERS WALK seemed to excel himself second time up over fences when going down by just a head at Down Royal last month and with a repeat, there's every chance he can go one better at the expense of Shantou Princess, who proved a different proposition upped markedly in trip when scoring here last month and this previous point winner now makes her chasing debut. Brucejack, who has plenty of chasing experience, can edge out Rokathir for third.
Preference is for the experienced BRUCEJACK who is effective over this trip as well as extreme distances and has a good opportunity here

![]() Match Anthem |
(5) 9/4(-20%) | (5) Match Anthem 9/4, Modest gelding. 9/2, didn't need to improve to win 12-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 17 days ago, just holding on. Good chance on these terms. Won his last two handicaps and weighted to make his presence felt at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Star Of Atlantis |
(1) 5/2(+29%) | (1) Star Of Atlantis 5/2, Modest filly. Didn't need to improve to win 12-runner minor event (10/3) at Southwell (7.1f) 8 days ago, driven out. Player. May have dropped on her right trip when coming home strongly to collect at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Neptune Legend |
(7) 6/1(+14%) | (7) Neptune Legend 6/1, Modest gelding. Good third of 10 in handicap at this course (6f, AW, 11/1) 52 days ago. Blinkers back on, tongue strap back on. Can give a good account. C&D winner who ran well last time out and he return of headgear looks a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Seas Of Elzaam |
(9) 8/1(-45%) | (9) Seas Of Elzaam 8/1, Modest gelding. Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 15/2, respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 17 days ago. Enters calculations. Finished close up in a 7f handicap at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Porfin |
(8) 8/1(+33%) | (8) Porfin 8/1, Modest gelding. Course winner. Good third of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 18/1) 5 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Third in a 7f Wolverhampton handicap 5 days ago after chasing a strong pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Irrelevant |
(4) 12/1(+14%) | (4) Irrelevant 12/1, Modest gelding. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. Last of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Bath (5.7f, soft) 73 days ago. Back up in trip. Soft an excuse last time; can get behind so will need some luck from the inside draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Haveagobeau |
(3) 14/1(+0%) | (3) Haveagobeau 14/1, Modest gelding. Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs. Good sixth of 10 in handicap at this course (6f, AW, 100/1) 21 days ago, slowly away. Delivers the odd respectable run, as when beaten 2l in a 6f handicap here most recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Aspire To Glory |
(2) 20/1(+20%) | (2) Aspire To Glory 20/1, Poor gelding. C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2024. Eyeshields on for 1st time, 4¼ lengths ninth of 12 to Match Anthem in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 14/1) 17 days ago. Difficult ask. Hasn't been firing as he can of late and this is a rare run without some form of headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Moorgate |
(6) 25/1(+24%) | (6) Moorgate 25/1, Course winner. One win from 25 Flat runs. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Eleventh of 12 in handicap (33/1) at this course (6f, AW) 21 days ago. Competitive form here over 6f and 7f but has been struggling for a while. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tilsworth Max |
(10) 33/1(+0%) | (10) Tilsworth Max 33/1, Modest gelding. 10 lengths tenth of 11 to Match Anthem in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 28/1) 64 days ago. Hood on 1st time. Ten-race maiden with the most to find at these weights and tries a hood; opposable. |
After class 6 handicap successes Chelmsford in November and Wolverhampton on Boxing Day, MATCH ANTHEM is a strong contender with his bid to complete a hat-trick. The runner-up from his latest start has franked the form by going in since and, with Luke Morris retaining the ride, the case for support has solid foundations in this modest classified stakes. Neptune Legend and Porfin have hinted at revivals of late and also warrant betting checks.
MATCH ANTHEM is fancied to complete the hat-trick on these terms. Star of Atlantis is the obvious threat having won a similar event at Southwell last week, with Seas of Elzaam best of the others.
They might have dropped on the right trip with STAR OF ATLANTIS who finished strongly from off the pace to collect at Southwell.

![]() Lecky Watson |
(4) 5/4(+0%) | (4) Lecky Watson 5/4, Placed at Grade 1 level over hurdles and ran to near-smart level when winning 12-runner maiden at Naas (20.1f, good to soft, 10/3) on chasing debut 27 days ago, jumping well in main and finding extra. Not taken lightly. Naas winner can only improve and looks the one to beat here, especially going right-handed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Down Memory Lane |
(1) 6/4(+45%) | (1) Down Memory Lane 6/4, Looked exciting prospect when making winning chase debut at Navan in November. Disappointing when 8 lengths third of 4 to L'Eau du Sud in Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown (15.4f, soft, 2/1) 36 days ago, but he could bounce back upped in trip. Jumping let him down at Sandown; step up in trip is likely to suit and has solid claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Farren Glory |
(2) 11/2(+27%) | (2) Farren Glory 11/2, Opened chase account at second attempt at Naas in November. Wasn't able to progress when 6 lengths second of 8 to Touch Me Not in Craddockstown Novices' Chase at this course (16.3f, good to soft, 7/4) 49 days ago, but it remains early days. Gradually improving over fences and the trip will suit but needs to improve. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ifiwerearichman |
(3) 12/1(+0%) | (3) Ifiwerearichman 12/1, Off 13 months prior to this season but has made promising start to his chasing career, powering clear to win 10-runner novice at this course (16.4f, soft, 11/1) 33 days ago. Needs to find more again but the step back up in trip should suit. Won well over 2m here last month; much more needed but going the right way and should stay. |
LECKY WATSON was a useful sort over hurdles, including when placed in a Grade 1 at Naas, and made an exciting start over fences at the same venue, making all to beat Slade Steel over 2m4f. He should benefit from that seasonal debut and could take high rank in the novice chasing division. Point winner Down Memory Lane also jumped well when successfully switching to fences at Navan, but didn't get into the same rhythm when tackling Grade 1 company at Sandown last month. Farren Glory holds Ifiwerearichman on running behind Inthepocket at Wexford and now steps up in trip after finishing second to stablemate Touch Me Not in the Grade 2 Craddockstown at this venue.
DOWN MEMORY LANE was impressive when successful at Navan on chase debut, before not jumping as fluently under more patient tactics at Sandown next time, so he is well worth another chance to confirm himself a smart chasing prospect. Lecky Watson is respected as Willie Mullins' sole representative, with Search For Glory the pick of the remainder.
It is hard to look past LECKY WATSON after his defeat of Slade Steel in a beginners at Naas. Going right-handed is a big plus too

![]() Groovy Baby |
(4) 6/4(+14%) | (4) Groovy Baby 6/4, Fair filly has rattled up a four-timer of second place finishes, latest in a novice event at Newcastle (8f) 34 days ago. Too keen that day and if the drop back in trip helps her settle, she could go close here. Consistent maiden; runner-up in six of her nine starts, beaten only a neck latest; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Al Waqidi |
(1) 2/1(+11%) | (1) Al Waqidi 2/1, 2-2 when trained by Charlie Appleby, notably winning a warm novice event (10f) at Newmarket in April 2021. Bought by current yard for £16,000 in March 2023. Returns after wind-op, down in trip and tongue-tied on first run for over 3 years. Hard to know what's left in the tank but very interesting. 2-2 for Charlie Appleby; the form pick but has been absent since 2021; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Next Trick |
(5) 10/3(-21%) | (5) Next Trick 10/3, Ex-Dermot Weld filly (didn't always look the easiest of rides) showed a fair bit in maiden/handicap company in Ireland but disappointed on final start, eighth of 15 in handicap at Gowran (8.3f) 83 days ago. Changed hands for 70,000 gns in December and is one for the shortlist on yard debut. Ex-Irish maiden who has possibilities if taking well to AW and first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fazen |
(3) 10/1(+0%) | (3) Fazen 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in a novice event at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 50/1) 34 days ago but looks one for handicaps down the line. Needs improvement on her Wolverhampton efforts; handicaps more suitable shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Chalta |
(2) 16/1(+52%) | (2) Chalta 16/1, Dam 2-y-o 7.4f winner who stayed 1¼m, half-sister to useful winner up to 9f (stayed 1¼m) Wovoka. Makes belated racecourse debut and it would be a surprise to see her take this. 4yo filly by Bungle Inthejungle out of a 7.4f 2yo winner; sole newcomer in the field. |
GROOVY BABY may been frustrating to follow but he is at least consistent and connections could hardly have found a better opportunity for him to get off the mark. Having recently swapped hands for just 28,000gns, Al Waqidi, who was 2-2 for Godolphin/Charlie Appleby, has it all to prove to match the billing of a 90-rated contender returning for a new yard at the age of seven. Therefore, Archie Watson's new recruit Next Trick, who showed ability in Ireland, is feared most from a reduced mark with cheekpieces added.
A race that revolves around how much ability Al Waqidi retains after a long time off the track. It could pay to side with a race-fit and in-form rival in the shape of GROOVY BABY, who travels strongly and should enjoy the drop back to 7f. This isn't the deepest of contests and Next Trick should at least hit the frame starting out for Archie Watson.
Consistent GROOVY BABY is first choice, ahead of ex-Irish Next Trick. Heed the market signals with regard to Al Waqidi.

![]() Papa Barns |
(6) 15/8(+25%) | (6) Papa Barns 15/8, Remains a maiden after 19 NH runs. 5/1, second of 18 in handicap chase at Naas (16f, good to soft) on debut over fences 27 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Back up in trip. Shortlist material. Good effort when second in a 2m handicap chase at Naas last month; could take beating. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Toon Town |
(2) 15/8(+46%) | (2) Toon Town 15/8, Winner in hurdle at Wexford in May. Below form ninth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16.5f, soft, 15/2) 51 days ago. Makes chase debut. First run for yard after leaving Brendan Maurice Walsh. Winning hurdler now with Gavin Cromwell and makes his chase debut here; interesting runner. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Midweek Voices |
(1) 9/2(+25%) | (1) Midweek Voices 9/2, Seemed to find the test too much when second of 12 in handicap chase at Tramore (22.8f, heavy, 8/1) 11 days ago. Not taken lightly dropped back in trip. Remote second on his handicap debut at Tramore last week; each-way chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mahlers Cove |
(3) 7/1(+30%) | (3) Mahlers Cove 7/1, Yet to score over fences but has reached the frame on 6 occasions. Below form sixth of 18 in handicap chase (11/1) at Naas (16f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Back up in trip. On an eye-catching mark if scaling a revival. Consistent over hurdles and fences and fine over this trip; big run would not surprise. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Wild As Fire |
(8) 16/1(+0%) | (8) Wild As Fire 16/1, Maiden hurdler with little form since early-2023. Hard to fancy on chase debut. Did not handle the track at Tramore last time and ran okay considering; chase debut here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mastermacblack |
(5) 16/1(+52%) | (5) Mastermacblack 16/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, eighth of 13 in handicap chase (25/1) at Tramore (21.4f, heavy) 47 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Hasn't fired for a while and looks easy to oppose again. Some early promise over hurdles has not been fulfilled; cheekpieces tried here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ivar The Boneless |
(4) 50/1(-79%) | (4) Ivar The Boneless 50/1, Little form for current connections and he's opposable despite the return to more realistic company. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Beaten 10l in a Down Royal handicap in April; little since and tried in new headgear combo. |
PAPA BARNS was placed a few times over hurdles and made a bright start to his chasing career when making most of the running and beating all bar Hillsdale in an 18-runner 2m Naas handicap, with Mahlers Cove well behind in sixth. He can build on that. The veteran School Lane has won three times in point-to-points, plus a further three chase victories under Rules, and gave some encouragement staying on into third when dropped to a lowly mark in a 2m5f Down Royal handicap last month. Toon Town won over hurdles for Brendan Walsh at Wexford last year and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour on debut over fences for a new yard.
A thin event in which PAPA BARNS can go one better than on chase debut, having produced a good round of jumping and showed plenty of enthusiasm for the job at Naas last month. Midweek Voices should benefit from the drop back in trip and can make the placings alongside School Lane.
A chance is taken that TOON TOWN can prove good enough on his first start for Gavin Cromwell and in his first chase

![]() Gogo Yubari |
(2) 11/4(-10%) | (2) Gogo Yubari 11/4, C&D winner. Five wins from 16 runs last year. Creditable third of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 7/2) 9 days ago. Not taken lightly. Best run this winter when third of eight over C&D nine days ago; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Harb |
(3) 3/1(+40%) | (3) Harb 3/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. 11/1, respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 9 days ago. Can give a good account. Closely matched with Gogo Yubari and Recon Mission on recent C&D form; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Recon Mission |
(5) 3/1(+40%) | (5) Recon Mission 3/1, C&D winner. Twenty eight runs since last win in 2022. Creditable third of 10 in handicap (17/2) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 29 days ago. Player. Front-running veteran; solid placed efforts this winter; leading candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mick's Spirit |
(7) 4/1(+71%) | (7) Mick's Spirit 4/1, 6-time C&D winner. Last of 7 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D (AW) 21 days ago. Last after absence just before Christmas; well handicapped on two C&D wins last February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Alafdhal |
(8) 12/1(+25%) | (8) Alafdhal 12/1, Three wins from 26 runs last year. Seventeen runs since last win in 2024. Tenth of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Placed seven times in the autumn, including over C&D, but seems to have gone off the boil. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Level Up |
(4) 20/1(-43%) | (4) Level Up 20/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 21 runs last year. Last of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 10/1) 9 days ago, not ideally placed. Others more persuasive. Nine-time winner; hasn't been in much form but he's dangerously well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Harry Brown |
(6) 20/1(-25%) | (6) Harry Brown 20/1, Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 8/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 38 days ago, slowly away. Difficult to recommend on recent form but plummeting in the weights; watch the market. |
RECON MISSION arrives on the back of several creditable efforts in defeat and a reproduction of his latest third at Wolverhampton may prove good enough. Tony Carroll's veteran races off an unchanged mark and his biggest threat may emerge from Gogo Yubari. The double C&D winner hit the frame here nine days ago and she should give another good account. Harb was a length behind in fourth that day and he may fare best of the remainder.
A couple of potential front runners here, which will suit MUMAYAZ. In-form pair Gogo Yubari and Recon Mission are obvious threats.
Preference for RECON MISSION is narrow but he should give a good account of himself from the front. Gogo Yubari is feared most.

![]() Daily Present |
(1) 5/2(+25%) | (1) Daily Present 5/2, 13/2, creditable third of 13 in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (29.7f, good) 42 days ago. Down in trip. Blinkers on 1st time. Makes plenty of appeal. Good stayer; blinkers added to the tongue-tie and will be hard to keep out of the frame. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Nine Graces |
(4) 11/4(+21%) | (4) Nine Graces 11/4, Useful winner at 22f over hurdles. 6/1, good second of 9 in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (20f, good) 42 days ago. Yard in good form. Likely to be on the premises. Best effort over fences when second in a mares handicap here last month; solid claims here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Prince Zaltar |
(10) 4/1(+27%) | (10) Prince Zaltar 4/1, Promising type. 14/1, creditable second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Aintree (20f, heavy). Off 13 months. Switches from hurdles to chase. Tongue strap back on. Makes handicap chase debut. Able to compete off his 18lb lower chase mark on return here; market may give clues. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Salmanino |
(8) 9/2(+0%) | (8) Salmanino 9/2, C&D winner. 80/1, second of 12 in handicap chase at Navan (24f, good to soft) 28 days ago. Obvious claims if he can back that up. Returned to form when run out of it at Navan last month; could be better to come. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gringo D'aubrelle |
(6) 10/1(0%) | (6) Gringo D'aubrelle 10/1, Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 66/1, fourteenth of 18 in novice chase at Navan (20.7f, soft) 36 days ago. Makes handicap chase debut. Needs to get back on track. Could be capable of a lot better but difficult to have confidence in; market watch advised. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Enjoy D'allen |
(3) 12/1(0%) | (3) Enjoy D'allen 12/1, Unreliable type. Respectable third of 6 in handicap chase (9/2) at Limerick (22.6f, soft) 16 days ago. Claims if in the same mood as last time. Down 3lb after a well beaten third in a veterans contest at Limerick; others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ringdufferin |
(7) 25/1(+24%) | (7) Ringdufferin 25/1, Fairly useful winner at 24f over hurdles. 33/1, fell in handicap chase at Navan (24f, good to soft) 28 days ago. Others make more appeal. Good run on chase debut in the spring; poor twice since and fell at Navan last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Peaches And Cream |
(2) 40/1(-150%) | (2) Peaches And Cream 40/1, Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 40/1, fourteenth of 17 in handicap chase at Leopardstown (24.4f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Tough to assess at present. Third in a handicap chase at Kelso in October but mostly disappointing this season. |
Stepping up in trip should suit NINE GRACES. The Kapgarde mare ran well when chasing home easy winner La Malmason at Fairyhouse early last month and is just a couple of pounds higher now. Both her wins over timber came at 2m6f and she is still relatively unexposed over fences after four runs. Daily Present ran well in the competitive Porterstown Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse, when third to History Of Fashion. Jack Hendrick takes a useful 7lb off the back of the top-weight now. Salmanino ran well at a massive price in Navan last time and is a previous C&D winner. He is another for the shortlist.
DAILY PRESENT was firmly back on track when third at Fairyhouse 42 days ago and he's still not fully exposed, so he's preferred to Salmanino, who returned to form from out of the blue at Navan last time. Nine Graces should also be involved.
A chance is taken that PRINCE ZALTAR might be fit enough after over a year off, off a chase mark 18lb lower than his hurdles mark

![]() Kapparis Kid |
(2) 5/2(+0%) | (2) Kapparis Kid 5/2, Temperamental sort. Well-backed 9/5, didn't need to improve to win 12-runner minor event at Southwell (6.1f) 9 days ago, just holding on. Set for another good run. Gained first handicap win at Southwell nine days ago; leading contender for in-form stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fai Fai |
(1) 9/2(+44%) | (1) Fai Fai 9/2, Posted best effort in a while on second run after wind surgery when runner-up in class 4 C&D handicap 12 days ago (40/1, raced from out of the handicap). Back down in grade today and entitled to run well again. Engaged 5.00 Chelmsford Saturday. Ran well from out of weights here on New Year's Eve; obvious claims if repeating that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lilkian |
(10) 11/2(+35%) | (10) Lilkian 11/2, Modest gelding. 4-time C&D winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2023. Good sixth of 13 in handicap (20/1) at Kempton (7f) 32 days ago, slowly away. Merits consideration. Engaged 3.52 Chelmsford Saturday. Third over C&D in August but mostly below par since; one of three for Darryll Holland. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Global Effort |
(9) 6/1(+0%) | (9) Global Effort 6/1, Modest gelding. Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 18/1, respectable third of 12 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 5 days ago. Respected. Engaged 3.52 Chelmsford Saturday. More consistent than many of these and again gave his running at Chelmsford yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Don't Fight It |
(6) 11/1(+8%) | (6) Don't Fight It 11/1, Modest mare. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. Blinkered for 1st time, creditable third of 12 in handicap (25/1) at Kempton (6f) 102 days ago. One to consider. In good form in the autumn, close third of 12 at Kempton on latest start; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fast Flo |
(8) 11/1(+8%) | (8) Fast Flo 11/1, Poor mare. Remains a maiden after 29 Flat runs. 14/1 and eyeshields on for 1st time, respectable fifth of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 5 days ago. Engaged 3.52 Chelmsford Saturday. Went close at Chelmsford yesterday but remains difficult to support, being 0-30. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fantasy Navigator |
(7) 20/1(+20%) | (7) Fantasy Navigator 20/1, 50/1, first run since leaving Michael Appleby when creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 8 days ago. Eyeshields on 1st time. Engaged 5.00 Chelmsford Saturday. Shaped as if needing run on stable debut at Southwell; lesser effort yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Revolucion |
(11) 20/1(+20%) | (11) Revolucion 20/1, Modest gelding. One win from 40 Flat runs. 8/1, last of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 5 days ago. Blinkers back on. Possibilities on C&D fourth but failed to beat a rival at Wolverhampton next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Apple A Dey |
(3) 25/1(+24%) | (3) Apple A Dey 25/1, Poor mare. Ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 33/1) 21 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Easy to look elsewhere. 0-10 and last two runs have been poor; needs to be transformed by first-time visor. |
KAPPARIS KID justified strong support in the market when landing a similar event at Southwell last week. The four-year-old scored with enough in hand to suggest that he can follow up in a race of this nature and a quickfire could be on the horizon. First-time blinkers appeared to perk up Don't Fight It judged on her third-placed effort at Kempton in October and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Apple A Dey.
KAPPARIS KID did little wrong when landing a gamble in a similar event at Southwell last week and is worth siding with again in the hope he's in the same mood. Suanni and Fai Fai are a couple of others to note.
The most compelling claims belong to KAPPARIS KID who can follow up a recent Southwell win. Don't Fight It is feared most.

![]() Salvator Mundi |
(5) 8/15(+27%) | (5) Salvator Mundi 8/15, Promising individual. 1/12, won 13-runner juvenile hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good to soft), unchallenged. Off 8 months. Tongue strap back on. Form pick. One of the market leaders for the Supreme Novices Hurdle and can show what he is made of. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Kel Histoire |
(2) 7/2(-27%) | (2) Kel Histoire 7/2, Fairly useful hurdler. First run since leaving Alain Couetil when 4/5, won 19-runner novice hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft) on IRE NH debut 30 days ago, easily. Open to improvement. Cork winner has plenty of scope for improvement and looks a leading contender here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sky Lord |
(6) 15/2(-25%) | (6) Sky Lord 15/2, Promising individual. Won 20-runner novice hurdle (5/2) at Cork (15.7f, soft) on hurdles bow 35 days ago, kept up to work. May well do better. Impressive at Cork last month; could provide the biggest danger to the favourite. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Relieved Of Duties |
(4) 9/1(+44%) | (4) Relieved Of Duties 9/1, Thrice-raced winner under NH rules. 3/1, won 18-runner novice hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft) 30 days ago, easily. Likely to improve. Delivered in style when wide margin winner of a Cork maiden hurdle last month; more needed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Artic Lane |
(1) 40/1(+20%) | (1) Artic Lane 40/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Thurles in November. 10/1, unseated rider in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (19.8f, good) 14 days ago. Blinkered for 1st time. Beaten when unseating at Leopardstown; blinkers tried here but looks up against it. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mr Rango |
(3) 200/1(-100%) | (3) Mr Rango 200/1, Useful Flat winner. Sixth of 25 in novice hurdle (33/1) at Navan (16f, soft) on NH debut 36 days ago. Uphill task. Ran okay in a Navan maiden hurdle last month but infinitely more needed here. |
All eyes will be on SALVATOR MUNDI here as the Supreme Novices' favourite makes his much anticipated return. The No Risk At All gelding was thrown in at the deep end on his first outing for Willie Mullins last season, finishing sixth in the Triumph Hurdle. He subsequently won his maiden hurdle at Tipperary by a massive 62 lengths and is a very exciting prospect for this term. Stablemate Kel Histoire looks the most likely danger. The Masked Marvel gelding won nicely on his Irish debut at Cork last month. Sky Lord also won a Cork maiden hurdle last month and is another to note.
SALVATOR MUNDI completed a simple task in a maiden at Tipperary 9 weeks after finishing in mid-division in the Triumph and looks the one to beat back up in grade on his return. His stablemate Kel Histoire is next best ahead of Relieved of Duties.
Willie Mullins has a very strong hand here and it is difficult enough to look past runaway Tipperary maiden hurdle winner SALVADOR MUNDI

![]() Kitaro Kich |
(2) 11/4(+31%) | (2) Kitaro Kich 11/4, Good second of 12 in handicap (7/2) at Chelmsford City (8f) 24 days ago, though he hung right entering last 1f. Ought to be in the shake-up in his bid for a maiden victory. Still a maiden but went very close at Chelmsford most recently; fighting chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Raqraaq |
(1) 5/1(+0%) | (1) Raqraaq 5/1, C&D winner. 16/1, good third of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 21 days ago, never nearer. Shortlisted. Registered sole win over C&D; shaped encouragingly in higher grade here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() I Can't Believe |
(5) 8/1(-45%) | (5) I Can't Believe 8/1, Still a maiden but visored for 1st time when a creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 17 days ago. Not ruled out. Took a step forward in first-time visor at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day. |

![]() Rabinal |
(3) 14/1(-17%) | (3) Rabinal 14/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in August. Ninth of 10 in handicap (25/1) at this C&D (AW) 21 days ago. Unreliable sort. Three wins in this grade here last year; runner-up in this race 12 months ago. |

![]() Reverberation |
(7) 14/1(+13%) | (7) Reverberation 14/1, 18/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 24 days ago. Not taken lightly at these weights if back on his A-game. Not particularly solid judged on his form for new yard; first run here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Serious Look |
(6) 16/1(-14%) | (6) Serious Look 16/1, 50/1, failed to get home when tenth of 13 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, soft) 103 days ago. Back down in trip now and can make his presence felt. Cheekpieces refitted. Far from solid judged on his form for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Takeover Target |
(4) 25/1(+24%) | (4) Takeover Target 25/1, Blinkered on his first run since leaving Tom Dascombe when last of 12 in handicap (40/1) at Kempton (7f). Off 109 days. Visor back on. Not easy to make a case for. Inconsistent maiden who doesn't look a solid option. |
A step up in distance and 82-day break saw MARINAKIS opening his account in classified company at Chelmsford on Thursday. Although a 5lb penalty will make life more difficult for Ian Williams' gelding reverting to handicap company, he looks to have more to come over a mile. C&D winner Raqraaq returned to form with a solid third here three weeks ago and he also enters the reckoning, alongside fellow in-form rival Kitaro Kich.
MARINAKIS took his form up a level when getting off the mark at Chelmsford on Thursday and Ian Williams' low-mileage sort is fancied to quickly add to that under a penalty. Serious Look should prove suited by dropping back in trip here and rates the chief threat, although Kitaro Kich, Raqraaq and I Can't Believe can all have a say too in this competitive handicap.
Being still unexposed over 1m, MARINAKIS (nap) could well complete a quickfire double. Kitaro Kich is second choice.

(18) 250/1(+0%) | (18) Theophilos 250/1, Fairly useful Flat winner. Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. 200/1, unseated rider 2nd in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good) 17 days ago. Major improvement required. Fair Flat performer but cut little ice in three goes over hurdles; not likely to figure. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Weston |
(21) 250/1(-213%) | (21) Weston 250/1, Useful Flat winner. 80/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Leopardstown (19.8f, good) on NH debut 14 days ago. Struggled on the Flat of late; pulled up on hurdles debut after jumping errors 14 days ago. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Monslatt |
(10) 300/1(-20%) | (10) Monslatt 300/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Ninth of 18 in novice hurdle at Thurles (16.1f, good, 150/1) 22 days ago. Has showed little in three maiden hurdles and a bumper; makes little appeal. |
Things haven't gone to plan for A DREAM TO SHARE since claiming the Grade 1 bumpers at Cheltenham and the Festival meeting here in 2023, but he can get back on track now. The Muhaarar gelding ran with promise when fifth on his hurdling debut behind Ballygunner Castle at Fairyhouse in late November and is entitled to improve a nice bit from that experience. He may be able to turn around form with the third-placed horse Don'tstopthemusic. The Willie Mullins-trained Kappa Jy Pyke looks an obvious danger. He was beaten at a short price on his Irish debut, but ran into a nice sort in Sky Lord in Cork.
Lots of these offer potential, not least DON'TSTOPTHEMUSIC who is fancied to build on his excellent Fairyhouse third and add to his useful bumper success here. Willie Mullins' French recruit Kappa Jy Pyke is another who can have a big say, while A Dream To Share and Bowensonfire both enter calculations too in this highly intriguing contest.
Preference is for outstanding bumper horse A DREAM TO SHARE after a satisfactory debut over hurdles at Fairyhouse

Still feasibly treated on best form, so not without hope of following up if the headgear continues to have a positive effect. Won three of last six starts, all Tapeta and latest in switch to this visor nine days ago. |

![]() Alfheim |
(6) 7/2(+13%) | (6) Alfheim 7/2, Didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (14f, 6/1) 5 days ago. Continues to thrive and is a big player in a bid to rack up a four-timer. Won for T Jakes at Wolverhampton (1m4f/1m6f) on last three starts; could have more to give. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tortured Soul |
(1) 4/1(-20%) | (1) Tortured Soul 4/1, Course winner. Seven wins from 23 Flat runs. Six wins from 15 runs last year. 13/2, career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 13 days ago. Likeable sort who is still getting better and should put up a bold showing. Back near his best for Wolverhampton win 13 days ago; back up 3lb; probably stays 1m5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Upepo |
(5) 5/1(-25%) | (5) Upepo 5/1, Three wins from 12 runs last year. Career best when winning 11-runner handicap at this course (12f, AW, 9/1) 39 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Deserves respect. All four wins have been here and his December win suggests he will be competitive again. |

![]() Moel Arthur |
(2) 10/1(+29%) | (2) Moel Arthur 10/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2022. 10/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 25 days ago. Others more persuasive. Well handicapped judged on plenty of 2m form in 2024 but lesser efforts last two outings. |

(7) 10/1(+55%) | (7) Thursday 10/1, Latest win here in August. Seventh of 11 in handicap (12/1) at this course (10f, AW) 21 days ago. Up in trip. Others more persuasive. Unraced beyond 1m5f and much more to prove judged on her four AW outings. |

![]() Buxted Too |
(4) 12/1(-9%) | (4) Buxted Too 12/1, Course winner. Creditable fifth of 11 in handicap (25/1) at Southwell (11.1f) 24 days ago, having to pick way through. Needs things to drop right. Needs a second look even though the last of his seven AW wins was in March 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Yorksea |
(3) 12/1(+14%) | (3) Yorksea 12/1, 66/1, seventeenth of 21 in handicap hurdle at Newbury (16.3f, soft). Off 11 months. First run for yard after leaving Gary Moore. Visor on for 1st time in this code. Creditable on last Flat run. Hard to weigh up. Hurdles career went badly awry last winter; has left Gary Moore and had 337 days off. |
Similar to his stable, KHANGAI has been in excellent form of late and a slight rise in distance, as well as a 3lb rise, should not inconvenience the five-year-old as he looks to land a fifth career success. Of the two Tony Carroll-trained inmates, Upepo gets narrow preference over Tortured Soul, having produced a determined display to score over 1m4f here last month. In search of a four-timer on the drop in trip, Alfheim is capable of being in the shake-up as well.
TORTURED SOUL had an excellent time of it around this time last year and was back to winning ways in smooth style at Wolverhampton recently, so he gets the nod ahead of the thriving Alfheim. Upepo, another last-time-out winner, makes up the shortlist in a competitive race for the grade.
This looks competitive but TORTURED SOUL gets a narrow vote ahead of Alfheim, Upepo and Khangai.

![]() Bright Legend |
(4) 5/1(+33%) | (4) Bright Legend 5/1, Left behind below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cheltenham (16.4f, good to soft) when good 1½ lengths second of 9 to Balko D'ange in listed handicap at Limerick (16f, soft) 14 days ago. Up in trip today and looks an interesting contender. Runner-up in a 2m Listed handicap at Limerick; good each-way shout here. |

![]() Mercury Mission |
(16) 13/2(+54%) | (16) Mercury Mission 13/2, 20/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, good third of 18 in handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) 35 days ago, running on late. In form and so is his yard. Third in a 2m4f handicap at Cork; 18-race maiden could get into the frame. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ask Anything |
(5) 7/1(+36%) | (5) Ask Anything 7/1, 14/1, pulled up in the Troytown at Navan after nearly coming down at the first. Can be forgiven effort only 6 days later, the run probably coming too soon. Freshened up now (50-day break) and could exploit his lower hurdles mark here. Disappointing latest; still on a good mark over hurdles if he can get his act together. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(17) 7/1(+56%) | (17) The Diddler 7/1, 7/2, creditable third of 7 in novice hurdle at this course (20.2f, good to soft) 58 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut with bit to find. Handicapper has not taken many chances but an interesting handicap debutante nonetheless. |

In good form on the Flat since and has each-way claims now back over timber. Flat runner-up at Gowran in October when last seen; could put up a bold showing here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mic Drop |
(8) 20/1(-25%) | (8) Mic Drop 20/1, Bumper winner at Clonmel in November. Creditable third of 10 in a novice hurdle (15/2) at Tramore (21.6f, heavy) 11 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut and although he has a bit to find, there aren't many miles on the clock. Decent maiden hurdle run at Cork; may have found the ground too testing at Tramore; claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Union Park |
(9) 25/1(-79%) | (9) Union Park 25/1, Won 4 times in 2023, over hurdles on the final occasion. Back on track over fences when creditable fourth of 14 in handicap chase at Limerick (19.4f, soft) 15 days ago. Remains to be seen if he can follow up his most recent effort now back over the smaller obstacles. Fine run over fences at Limerick; maybe a big run off his 14lb lower hurdle mark is due. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Colonel Nelson |
(10) 25/1(-56%) | (10) Colonel Nelson 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Creditable fifth of 18 in novice hurdle (6/1) at Thurles (16.1f, good) 22 days ago. Back up in distance for handicap hurdle debut. Bids to improve on a good run over 2m at Clonmel and the extra trip should not be an issue. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Chosen Diamond |
(18) 25/1(-56%) | (18) Chosen Diamond 25/1, Respectable fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (20f, heavy, 14/1) when last seen and returns from 9 months off. Not seen since running well in a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle in March;should improve for it. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cozone |
(13) 25/1(+11%) | (13) Cozone 25/1, Step in the right direction when respectable tenth of 23 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Leopardstown (19.8f, good) 15 days ago and interesting to see if he can build on that. Struggled on his last three starts but his mark is looking a bit more attractive. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() On The Steel |
(6) 50/1(-52%) | (6) On The Steel 50/1, Winner over hurdles at Ballinrobe in April. Latest fifth of 8 in a minor event hurdle at this course (16.6f, soft) 33 days ago. Back up in trip for handicap hurdle debut but needs to improve to feature here. Ballinrobe maiden winner in April but has struggled since; others more likely. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Voice Of Reason |
(14) 50/1(+0%) | (14) Voice Of Reason 50/1, Could never land a blow when eleventh of 23 in handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (19.8f, good, 80/1) 15 days ago and may be best to look elsewhere for win purposes. Hard to fancy on the back of two tailed off efforts and a midfield run at Leopardstown. |
Josh Williamson is good value for his 7lb and he can strike here on BRIGHT LEGEND. The Denis Hogan-trained gelding ran well at Limerick on his last outing when chasing home Balko D'ange and is only a couple of pounds higher now. He ran well over a mile and a half on his last outing on the Flat, and stepping up in trip over jumps could bring further improvement. Beggars Rock got a 10lb hike for his wide-margin success at Limerick, but still looks an obvious danger. The Diddler has been placed in three maiden hurdles and looks on a fair mark for her handicap debut.
BEGGARS ROCK won with authority at Limerick and a 10 lb rise may not be enough to stop him from following up. Bright Legend rates the main danger up in trip following a solid second in a listed handicap hurdle two weeks ago. Ask Anything could take advantage of a lower hurdles mark and has each-way prospects, as does Mercury Mission.
despite a 9lb rise for his win at Limerick, this can go to BEGGARS ROCK(nap) who was transformed by blinkers that day and can follow up

Makes handicap debut. Bred to be better than a mark of 65. Nicely bred and looks the type to make her mark in handicaps; interesting. |

![]() Piranha Rama |
(4) 7/1(+7%) | (4) Piranha Rama 7/1, Three wins from 12 runs last year. Respectable seventh of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 15/2) 41 days ago. Could make her presence felt from a good draw. Three-time 6f winner; not crying out for this new trip. |

![]() Dr Ali |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dark Thunderstorm |
(10) 20/1(-25%) | (10) Dark Thunderstorm 20/1, 12/1 and visored for 1st time, last of 9 in nursery at Chelmsford City (7f) 24 days ago. Needs to up his game. Form has dipped sharply since consistent summer spell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rogue Endeavour |
(8) 20/1(+0%) | (8) Rogue Endeavour 20/1, First run since leaving Alice Haynes when ninth of 11 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 50/1) 17 days ago. Needs to build on that but overall profile isn't convincing. Has completely failed to build on debut effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Berning Hot |
(5) 25/1(+24%) | (5) Berning Hot 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 125/1, first run since leaving Richard Hannon when tenth of 12 in nursery at this C&D (AW) 39 days ago. Hard to make a case for. Couple of duck eggs at handicap level; opposed. |
This can go the way of FRIDAY AGAIN, who showed major improvement on her handicap debut when finishing second over 6f here last month. The daughter of Kodi Bear is likely to be suited by going back up in trip, and she is preferred to Piranha Rama, who has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her penultimate success at Chelmsford. Unexposed handicap debutant McKenna is another to consider, as well as Ornately making her second start for new connections.
FRIDAY AGAIN improved when second here on handicap debut despite shaping as if in need of further, so she can do enough to get off the mark back over an extra furlong. McKenna and Ornately appeal as the types to do better, so they're regarded as the main dangers.
Unexposed FRIDAY AGAIN is taken to build on her latest effort and go one better. Ornately is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
