Half-sister to several winners for owners, from good family. 12/1, showed plenty when second of 5 at Ascot (8f, good to firm) on debut 46 days ago. Juneberry |
(5) (7/2 -17%)7/2(-17%) | (5) Juneberry 7/2, Foaled April 13. Night of Thunder filly. Closely related to useful 2-y-o 1m-1¼m winner Goldspur (scored on heavy ground on debut). Laura Bay |
(6) (10/1 -11%)10/1(-11%) | (6) Laura Bay 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. Improved when third of 7 in maiden (9/1) at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy) 28 days ago, not knocked about. Should have more to offer, especially next year. Respectable third at Nottingham last time; bred to do better still; could go well. |

This will likely be hard work for these juveniles, who look set to encounter extremely testing conditions, but it shouldn't be a problem for CLIMATE ACTION. By Cracksman out of Friendlier, who have both produced a plethora of soft and heavy ground winners, she can improve on her debut second and get off the mark. Laura Bay posted a creditable third at Nottingham last month and might not need much more to be involved, while Juneberry is the pick of the newcomers.
JUNEBERRY represents top connections and is a half-sister to a useful sort who won on heavy ground on debut so she's chanced before any market clues. Climate Action made a bright start at Ascot and seems sure to improve and go well if handling the different conditions. The well-bred Rouge Sellier is another set to progress on the back of a promising first run at Haydock.
Ascot runner-up CLIMATE ACTION sets the form standard ahead of Haydock third Rouge Sellier. Some of the newcomers are interesting.

Imperial Express |
(1) (2/1 +11%)2/1(+11%) | (1) Imperial Express 2/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 66/1, ninth of 17 in sales race at Doncaster (6.5f, good to soft) 40 days ago. Form of that event has worked out and she's a player in this weaker contest. Positives to take from each of her three runs; will find this much easier than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lou Lou's Gift |
(5) (4/7 -8%)4/7(-8%) | (5) Lou Lou's Gift 4/7, Lope De Vega half-sister to smart 1m winner Mighty Ulysses. 13/2, third of 12 in C&D contest often targeted by the yard on debut 34 days ago, keeping on and not knocked about. Sure to progress and leading claims. Very promising third in the face of greenness on debut over C&D (good); hard to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It's Showtime |
(2) (10/1 +0%)10/1(+0%) | (2) It's Showtime 10/1, 45,000 gns yearling, Showcasing filly. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart 2-y-o 5f/6f (Cheveley Park Stakes) winner Tiggy Wiggy. 16/1, fourth of 9 at Kempton (6f) on debut 27 days ago. Can improve. The second and third have let the form down since but debut was still pleasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Little Siskin |
(4) (50/1 -25%)50/1(-25%) | (4) Little Siskin 50/1, Ninth of 12 at this C&D (good to soft, 33/1) on debut 34 days ago, green and little impression. 33-1 when finishing six places and over 6l behind Lou Lou's Gift on debut over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jailbird |
(3) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (3) Jailbird 50/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to soft, 40/1) 11 days ago. Lots more needed. Never threatened when beaten over 11l at Newmarket in September and October; now sprinting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Scottie's Sister |
(6) (100/1 +0%)100/1(+0%) | (6) Scottie's Sister 100/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, sixth of 7 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) 11 days ago. Similar profile to stablemate Jailbird and can only be watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
IMPERIAL EXPRESS wasn't disgraced in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last month and Andrew Balding's filly, who sets the standard with an official rating of 76, might be hard to beat if handling forecast conditions. Lou Lou's Gift finished third over C&D on her debut, despite racing freely, and is the biggest danger to the selection. It's Showtime looks best placed to chase the pair home.
Not a race that will take much winning and a good chance for LOU LOU'S GIFT to build on her promising start here 5 weeks ago and come out on top. Imperial Express faced a stiff task at Doncaster and has a better chance in this company.
It will be disappointing if the Haggas filly LOU LOU'S GIFT can't go two places better than on her C&D debut last month.

Churchill Rose |
(7) (5/1 +0%)5/1(+0%) | (7) Churchill Rose 5/1, C&D winner in August. Bit below form sixth of 14 in handicap at Southwell (11f, 9/2) 48 days ago. Likely to be competitive back here. Opened her account in C&D handicap on most recent turf start; possibilities back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pourquoi |
(3) (7/1 -8%)7/1(-8%) | (3) Pourquoi 7/1, Fair form first 3 starts. Something seemed to go amiss when last of 5 at Lingfield last month so it's easy to put a line through that. Handicap debut. Bred to do better still, being out of a four-time winner for her owner; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Waxing Gibbous |
(2) (9/4 -13%)9/4(-13%) | (2) Waxing Gibbous 9/4, Lightly-raced 3-y-o who has shown ability in 3 maiden/novice runs and rates a likely improver now handicapping against largely more exposed opposition. Open to improvement now handicapping and back on a slow surface; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Selenachorus |
(4) (9/2 +0%)9/2(+0%) | (4) Selenachorus 9/2, Won twice at Leicester this summer. 6/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Chester (14.5f, soft) 38 days ago. Back down in trip. Form dipped over 1m6f last time; solid record at 1m4f otherwise since handicapping. |

Fen Tiger |
(5) (13/2 -18%)13/2(-18%) | (5) Fen Tiger 13/2, 4/1, good closed second of 6 in handicap at Brighton 51 days ago, pulling clear of rest. Should give a good account. Clear second at Brighton last time; return to softer ground looks ideal; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pistoletto |
(1) (16/1 -14%)16/1(-14%) | (1) Pistoletto 16/1, Latest win at Kempton in July. 8/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (11f) 69 days ago. AW winner in July but inconsistent otherwise this year; hasn't scored on turf since 2019. |

Das Kapital |
(6) (17/2 +15%)17/2(+15%) | (6) Das Kapital 17/2, Unreliable sort. Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. Below form fourth of 8 in handicap (13/2) at Newbury (good to soft) 89 days ago. Engaged 1.25 Windsor Monday. Has notable Yarmouth form having been placed over C&D in October 2019/2022. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Fen Tiger has been knocking on the door but a 3lb rise for a neck defeat at Brighton last month looks harsh and he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to WAXING GIBBOUS. David Menuisier's filly has shown signs of promise in three qualifying runs and can do much better now switched to handicaps, with an opening mark of 70 looking workable. Selenachorus is another to consider.
WAXING GIBBOUS appeals as one who should have more to offer in handicaps and gets the vote under Jamie Spencer. Fen Tiger could be the one for the forecast spot.
Although he's up against some unexposed 3yos, the in-form 5yo FEN TIGER holds solid claims on form. Pourquoi is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kamanika |
(3) (7/4 +0%)7/4(+0%) | (3) Kamanika 7/4, Four wins from 10 runs this year. 11/4, career best when winning 6-runner apprentice handicap at Leicester (1¼m, heavy) 7 days ago. Races off the same mark here and good chance of another win. Steadily progressive filly who avoids a penalty for last week's Leicester win; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Corymbosa |
(4) (7/1 +13%)7/1(+13%) | (4) Corymbosa 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 8/1, fifth of 6 in novice at Lingfield (1½m, AW) 48 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Unexposed. Nicely bred filly who is open to progress now handicapping and switched to turf. |

Bold Ribb |
(2) (9/1 -13%)9/1(-13%) | (2) Bold Ribb 9/1, Won 7f Dundalk maiden in January (final start for Joseph O'Brien) but no significant impact in 2 handicaps (7f/1¼m) since joining John Ryan. Shaped better than bare result over C&D last time (second run for new yard). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Marmara Star |
(6) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (6) Marmara Star 10/1, Won at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in January. Good return from a break when fourth of 10 in handicap back at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 15 days ago. Makes turf debut. Respected. Not fully exposed; could go well, provided she transfers AW form to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Twilight Guest |
(10) (12/1 -9%)12/1(-9%) | (10) Twilight Guest 12/1, Creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford (1¼m) 12 days ago. Visor back on. Not taken lightly. 3yo maiden who has made the frame several times; can't rule out another good run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mhajim |
(5) (20/1 -43%)20/1(-43%) | (5) Mhajim 20/1, Down the field on all starts for current yard but not beaten far and did catch the eye at Chelmsford recently with a hood added (retained) last time. Jamie Spencer takes the ride this time. One to note in the betting. Dismal form in handicaps until shaping better on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Magical Mile |
(1) (33/1 -32%)33/1(-32%) | (1) Magical Mile 33/1, 17/2, last of 10 in handicap at Ripon (1¼m, good) 56 days ago. Bounce back needed. Back on last winning mark and Owen Lewis takes off 7lb; fighting chance if back to best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
KAMANIKA arrives on a hat-trick following victories over this trip at Sandown and Leicester, escaping a penalty for scoring at the latter venue in an apprentice riders' handicap, and James Doyle's mount looks set for another bold bid. Corymbosa is expected to improve now tried in a handicap for the first time off a feasible mark of 68, although Marmara Star could prove a bigger threat to the selection if transferring her Wolverhampton form to turf.
KAMANIKA escapes a penalty for last week's Leicester success and can complete a hat-trick. If Marmara Star is as effective on turf as AW she could be the one to chase home Joseph Parr's charge. Sir Michael Stoute handicap newcomer Corymbosa is another interesting runner.
Another good result looks on the cards for KAMANIKA (nap), who holds very persuasive claims. Moush is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cypriot Diaspora |
(4) (7/2 +0%)7/2(+0%) | (4) Cypriot Diaspora 7/2, Lightly-raced winner. 7/1, career best when winning 11-runner nursery at Leicester (6f, good) 29 days ago, driven out. Not taken lightly. Opened her account at Leicester last time; looks capable of further progress in handicaps. |

Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes nursery debut with a bit to prove. Has failed to match debut form in her two runs since; first-time headgear needs to work. |

Not one to write off. Ties in with Cypriot Diaspora on most recent turf effort; not dismissed back on grass. |

Dylan's Ashes |
(8) (25/1 -39%)25/1(-39%) | (8) Dylan's Ashes 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 66/1, seventh of 9 in minor event at Chelmsford City (7f) 24 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Makes nursery debut. Others preferred. Chance depends on whether he can improve for new trip and addition of blinkers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Lady Ava must be considered after scoring off 3lb lower at Catterick last month, but she was doing her best work at the finish of that 7f contest and the drop back in trip is a concern. With that in mind, CYPRIOT DIASPORA is fancied to defy a 5lb rise for scoring over this trip at Leicester 31 days ago as she's improving with each run. The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye. Recent Kempton winner Charlie Mason has been a model of consistency this year and should give another good account.
LADY AVA showed a good attitude to get up at Catterick last month and there's further progress on the cards, so she's narrowly preferred to fellow last-time-out winner Cypriot Diaspora. Charlie Mason also merits respect in a tightly-knit contest.
Preference is for Leicester scorer CYPRIOT DIASPORA, ahead of Catterick winner Lady Ava.

WILLINGLY won on deep Nottingham ground just six days ago and, providing this doesn't come too soon, she's taken to follow up under a 5lb penalty. Owen Lewis claims 7lb in the plate this time, taking over from a 5lb claimer at the Midlands venue, so she's effectively just 3lb higher. Enchanted Night has been knocking on the door of late and would be no surprise winner, while chances are also given to Porterinthejungle and Cuban Grey.
WILLINGLY was better than ever scoring with a bit in hand at Nottingham last week and can defy a penalty with ground conditions in her favour again. Porterinthejungle and Enchanted Night are other mares who arrive in form and may give Mark Usher's charge most to do.
Willingly has a solid chance under a penalty but it might be worth chancing KITBAG on his second run back from a break.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This won't take much winning and connections of RATAFIA have found their gelding another very winnable opening following his smooth Redcar triumph. That didn't come out of the blue either, as he'd previously shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up at Leicester. Inverinate remains winless on turf but does look feasibly treated on the pick of his form, while Delagate The Lady is noted too.
RATAFIA revelled in deep ground at Redcar the other day and might be able to follow up faced with similar conditions. Once Adaay's latest Wolverhampton sixth was a bit more encouraging and he heads the dangers along with fellow 3-y-o Inverinate.
In-form RATAFIA is taken to defy a penalty for his Redcar win. Possible improver Star Map is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
