1st (2) (3/1 +0%) Phoenix Passion |
3/1(+0%) | (2) Phoenix Passion 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 10 in minor event at Kempton (7f, 80/1) 29 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Others more persuasive. This initial mark doesn't look overly generous but he's open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (12/1 +40%) Chris's Mate |
12/1(+40%) | (6) Chris's Mate 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1 and visored for 1st time, ninth of 10 in seller at Leicester (6f, good to firm) 75 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut with lots to find. Low-level form on fast ground and has stamina to prove over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/4 -13%) St Lukes Chelsea |
9/4(-13%) | (4) St Lukes Chelsea 9/4, Thrice-raced maiden. 10/1, tenth of 13 in maiden at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut with more required. Poor so far but now handicapping and going beyond 6f for the first time could help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (13/8 +7%) Storm Alice |
13/8(+7%) | (3) Storm Alice 13/8, 5/1, career best when winning 8-runner nursery at Chepstow (8.1f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Weighted to go close despite a 3 lb rise with that form working out really well. Close up over 9.4f at Wolverhampton before staying on best at Chepstow; up 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (22/1 -193%) Santa Rosalia |
22/1(-193%) | (5) Santa Rosalia 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 9 in minor event at Kempton (8f, 80/1) 22 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut. May well do better. Modest but handicaps should see her in a better light and Billy Loughnane is booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (28/1 +30%) Elegant Elloise |
28/1(+30%) | (7) Elegant Elloise 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 10 in nursery at Bath (8f, good to firm, 20/1) 8 days ago. Hard to warm to. Well beaten on switch to nurseries at Bath and she's 4lb lower in future. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A chance can be taken on ST LUKES CHELSEA. The 78,000gns purchase steps up to a mile for the first time having been largely unsighted over 6f on each of his qualifying runs, and that could hold the key. Others to note include Storm Alice and Phoenix Passion. The former is put forward as the main danger on the basis that she displayed a good attitude when scoring at Chepstow last time.
STORM ALICE looks the way to go here with the form of her recent Chepstow success proving very strong for the grade. Hhandicap-debutante Santa Rosalia heads the dangers..
Rain is forecast and none of the runners have raced on soft ground. STORM ALICE has the strongest form credentials.

6/4(-124%) | (1) Francesco Baracca 6/4, Promising Golden Horn gelding. 6/1, second of 8 in minor event at Kempton (8f) on debut 22 days ago, running on. The one to beat. Chased home a talented winner at Kempton (1m; 6-1) and that was an encouraging start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 +28%) Manos Arriba |
13/2(+28%) | (3) Manos Arriba 13/2, 40/1, ninth of 13 in maiden at Windsor (6f, good to firm) on debut 17 days ago, very slowly away. Significantly up in trip. Beaten about 10l at Windsor when severely hindered by a slow start (6f; 40-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (28/1 +44%) Silver Shamrock |
28/1(+44%) | (7) Silver Shamrock 28/1, Twice-raced filly. 50/1, ninth of 11 in minor event at this course (7f, good) 25 days ago. Needs to step forward. Showed ability on debut but looks vulnerable whilst kept to races of his nature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/2 +59%) Risk On |
9/2(+59%) | (2) Risk On 9/2, 55,000 foal, 25,000 yearling. First foal out of an unraced half-sister to Group 3 2yo winner Reach For The Moon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (4/1 +27%) Volcanology |

Half-sister to several winners, including useful 1½m/13f winner Pennymoor and 7f winner Ceanna. Wears hood. Much respected debutante. 30,000gns yearling; immediate fitting of a hood suggests watching brief is best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
George Boughey has enjoyed another decent campaign with his juveniles and Masar filly Adore You must be respected with that in mind. Preference, though, is for FRANCESCO BARACCA. The son of Golden Horn chased home a smart prospect at Kempton last month and is fancied to open his account now switched to turf. Volcanology is another to be interested in.
FRANCESCO BARACCA shaped well when runner-up at Kempton and with improvement very much on the cards he gets the vote. Newcomers Adore You and Volcanology who need a market check.
This isn't a strong maiden and FRANCESCO BARACCA showed sufficient promise at Kempton to believe he can provide the answer.

1st (1) (7/2 +50%) Mayo Neighs |
7/2(+50%) | (1) Mayo Neighs 7/2, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Bath in May. Blinkered for 1st time, eleventh of 16 in nursery at York (6f, good to firm, 16/1) 29 days ago, hampered. Latest effort best excused, so not one to rule out. Only raced on fast ground but has form claims; contested a strong race latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (7/1 +0%) Another Gift |
7/1(+0%) | (9) Another Gift 7/1, 5/2, career best when winning 7-runner nursery at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Thriving lately and boasts solid claims in her bid for the four-timer. Seeks a four-timer but up again in the weights and softer ground here is a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (11/1 +21%) Jimmy Speaking |
11/1(+21%) | (10) Jimmy Speaking 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, sixth of 10 in maiden at this course (7f, good to firm) 36 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Going the right way, so not completely dismissed. Beaten under 5l in all races; has ability but signs that he might not be straightforward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/3 +0%) Labalaba |
10/3(+0%) | (5) Labalaba 10/3, 10/11, third of 12 in minor event at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) 55 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. May well put up a bigger performance switched to nurseries. Ffos Las maiden winner; decent third latest on soft; cheekpieces on for nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 +17%) Propitious |
10/1(+17%) | (7) Propitious 10/1, Won first 2 starts. 8½ lengths eleventh of 12 to Juniper Berries in Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury (6f, good to firm, 50/1) 14 days ago. Makes nursery debut. More realistic claims in this company. Won her first two before predictably struggling in a Group 3 at Salisbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/2 +44%) Trefor |
9/2(+44%) | (6) Trefor 9/2, Winner at Windsor in August. 9/2, fourth of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (6f) 13 days ago. Makes nursery debut. Bit to prove on softer ground (good to soft on debut) and others might be better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (33/1 -65%) Empire Of Light |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Empire Of Light 33/1, Lightly-raced winner. Below form fifth of 11 in minor event (16/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, good) 21 days ago, doing too much too soon. Makes nursery debut. Something to prove. Newmarket win in June is a standout; hard to trust after his last two efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (13/2 -8%) Piz Nair |
13/2(-8%) | (3) Piz Nair 13/2, Winner at Windsor in July. 11/4, fifth of 12 in minor event at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) 26 days ago. Remains with potential and shouldn't be ruled out on nursery debut. Struggled with a penalty at HQ; handicapper taken no chances but early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (20/1 -150%) Master Franca |
20/1(-150%) | (11) Master Franca 20/1, Just fair form to this point and needs to bounce back from a lesser effort at York. Initial promise and it was always going to be tough when 100-1 for a sales race at York. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (20/1 -208%) Commander Of Life |
20/1(-208%) | (2) Commander Of Life 20/1, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Chelmsford City in July. Respectable fourth of 11 in minor event at Kempton (7f, 2/1) 29 days ago. Makes nursery debut. Return to this trip should help. AW winner only 4th under a penalty latest; needs new heights to defy this mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ANOTHER GIFT has not looked back since switching her attentions to nurseries last month, winning three on the spin, and a subsequent 7lb rise for her latest success might not stop the daughter of Harry Angel. Mayo Neighs failed to make an impact in a valuable York nursery last time but he enters calculations down in class. Labalaba sports first-time cheekpieces ahead of his nursery bow and is noted along with Trefor.
COMMANDER OF LIFE should benefit from the drop back in trip and gets a tentative nod in an open race. Labalaba is another one to consider, along with Piz Nair.
A chance is taken on PIZ NAIR, who wasn't ideally positioned when coming up short under a penalty in a Newmarket novice.

1st (5) (3/1 -20%) Hydration |
3/1(-20%) | (5) Hydration 3/1, 2 wins from 5 runs this year. Latest win at Doncaster in August. 7/2, creditable sixth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 21 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Respected. Won two 6f handicaps this season; latest Newcastle race wasn't run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (13/2 +41%) Kuwait City |
13/2(+41%) | (6) Kuwait City 13/2, Course winner. Latest win at York in May. 40/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Ascot (6f, firm) 12 days ago. Others more persuasive. Not discounted. On last winning mark and positives to take from his latest run at Ascot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 -81%) First Folio |
5/2(-81%) | (2) First Folio 5/2, C&D winner. 10/1, creditable third of 12 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) 20 days ago, running on. Stepping back in the right direction and leniently treated, so worth taking a chance on. Last year's winner on a good mark but he would prefer faster conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/1 +38%) Tolstoy |
5/1(+38%) | (4) Tolstoy 5/1, Unreliable individual. C&D winner. Latest win at Brighton in September. 15/2, ninth of 14 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 8 days ago. Best excused latest effort, so not one to rule out. Inconsistent but he did have excuses after his Brighton win; capable of going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (4/1 +50%) Sterling Knight |
4/1(+50%) | (3) Sterling Knight 4/1, Latest win at Windsor in June. 11/1, last of 7 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Below par in his last three runs and blinkers replace his usual cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/1 -38%) Tabdeed |
11/1(-38%) | (1) Tabdeed 11/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2020. Fifth of 7 in handicap (9/1) at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Well handicapped and seems to be finding his form. Without a win in three years and will do well to end that drought on softish ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
FIRST FOLIO, who has a proven liking for this venue, has hinted at a revival on his last couple of starts and, off 4lb lower than his last winning mark, he could well extend his C&D record to 3-3 if he continues to flourish in the same manner. Tabdeed, who last tasted success in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes three years ago, has to be respected on these terms, while Tolstoy and Hydration add further spice to the race.
FIRST FOLIO is well treated and gave a clear indication that he's back in top form when third at Thirsk last time, so he makes most appeal. Hydration is still lightly raced and was better than the result at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, so he looks the main danger ahead of Tabdeed.
A trappy handicap. TOLSTOY might be the answer as you can draw a line through Southwell last time.

2nd (7) (9/2 +18%) Sailing On |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Sailing On 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 10 in handicap (11/1) at Newbury (12f, good to firm) 23 days ago, nearest finish. Can give a good account. Brother to Oaks winner Talent and close third on h'cap debut was promising; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -118%) Divine Comedy |
6/1(-118%) | (1) Divine Comedy 6/1, 2 wins from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 5-runner handicap at Haydock (14f, good, 2/11), easily. Off 119 days but still not taken lightly. Off since May when twice winning easily; 13lb higher than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 +40%) Bunker Bay |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Bunker Bay 6/1, Course winner. Winner here in July. Creditable seventh of 13 in handicap (8/1) at Kempton (16f) 38 days ago. In the mix again. Remains in good form despite his seventh at Kempton; needs considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (4/1 +56%) Edge Of Darkness |
4/1(+56%) | (3) Edge Of Darkness 4/1, 3 wins from 6 runs this year. Latest win at Newmarket in August. 40/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Haydock (14f, good to firm) 12 days ago so needs to bounce back. Was bang in form until struggling in two strong Class 2 handicaps; could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (15/2 +6%) Sharp Distinction |
15/2(+6%) | (4) Sharp Distinction 15/2, C&D winner in August. 10/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Kempton (16f) 38 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Cheekpieces back on and weighted to go close. C&D winner before never involved after starting slowly at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5/1 -50%) Imaginary World |
5/1(-50%) | (2) Imaginary World 5/1, Very good third of 13 in handicap (9/2) at Newcastle (12.4f) 21 days ago. Can go well again. Back to his best when third at Newcastle and worth another go over this far. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The hat-trick seeking DIVINE COMEDY offers strong appeal having proven her stamina with a 10-length romp at Haydock when last seen, with a 13lb hike in the ratings deemed a fair assessment. Having been given plenty of time since, the five-year-old arrives fresher than her rivals and, with most having something to prove over this trip, she holds an edge in terms of stamina. Imaginary World is noted, but previous C&D winner Sharp Distinction is feared most.
SHARP DISTINCTION wasn't seen to best effect at Kempton last time when set too much to do and this C&D winner is taken to bounce back in style. The lightly raced Sailing On is next on the list with course- winner Bunker Bay and Imaginary World also in the picture.
Downgraded from two Class 2 events, it's easy to envisage likely front-runner EDGE OF DARKNESS going well on ground he handles.

1st (10) (4/1 +60%) Dream Pirate |
4/1(+60%) | (10) Dream Pirate 4/1, 8/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, ran to a similar level as previously on turf after 11 weeks off when fourth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good) 25 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Never ideally positioned here last time; now blinkered; may not want soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7.5/1 -50%) Where's Freddy |
7.5/1(-50%) | (8) Where's Freddy 7.5/1, Took a sizeable step forward equipped with a first-time tongue strap when narrowly seeing off 7 rivals in a handicap at Newmarket (7f, good) just under 8 weeks ago. 3 lb rise fair enough and big shout if able to build on that. Improved winner over 7f at Newmarket and may well improve again for going 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (8.5/1 +6%) Kalamunda |
8.5/1(+6%) | (11) Kalamunda 8.5/1, 6/1, ran best race when fourth of 11 on handicap debut at Salisbury (8f, good) 5 weeks ago, suited by way race developed. Can give another good account. There were no obvious excuses when coming up short on handicap debut at Salisbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (28/1 -27%) Glencalvie |
28/1(-27%) | (5) Glencalvie 28/1, 40/1, fared no better than on stable debut when fourth of 6 in minor event at Chelmsford City (8f) 37 days ago. Makes handicap debut. 0-4 but definite ability; an interesting handicap debutante as rain won't harm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (17/2 -89%) Dreaming Spires |
17/2(-89%) | (4) Dreaming Spires 17/2, 13/2, took a huge step forward from debut when won 6-runner minor event at Thirsk (8f, heavy), suited by increase in trip. Makes handicap debut after over 4 months off and looks sure to progress further. Absent since May but she's dangerously unexposed now into handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/1 +27%) Vinaka |
16/1(+27%) | (6) Vinaka 16/1, Winner at Epsom in August. Wasn't disgraced under a more patient ride when seventh of 12 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 40/1) 15 days ago. Others look stronger. Rain would bring her into it but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 -33%) Shaheen Saqaar |
16/1(-33%) | (9) Shaheen Saqaar 16/1, 22/1, never dangerous sixth of 8 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 12 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could make more of a splash. Would need to see some confidence behind him on turf/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (7/2 +30%) Monty Be Quick |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Monty Be Quick 7/2, Showed improved form on handicap debut when second of 6 at Chepstow (8.1f, good to firm, 5/1) 17 days ago, edged out near line. In the mix. Pushed an improver close at Chepstow; appealing form claims off just 2lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (14/1 -115%) Valtellina |
14/1(-115%) | (3) Valtellina 14/1, Showed something like debut form at the second attempt when third of 8 in maiden (15/2) at this course (7f, good to soft) 64 days ago, running on. Makes handicap debut and remains with potential. One of two unexposed runners for the yard, so market needs checking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (7/2 +22%) Gone |
7/2(+22%) | (1) Gone 7/2, Course winner. 4 wins from 14 runs this year. 3/1, unlucky to bump into one right at the top of their game when second of 11 in handicap at Bath (8f, good to firm) 8 days ago. Enters calculations. Admirably consistent handicapper who remains in good form; wouldn't want rain. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GONE, who is 2lb well-in, has been knocking on the door lately and is taken to deliver on the promise she has shown during what has already been a busy month for her. Dreaming Spires rates as one with the potential to put it up to the selection after a comfortable success in a novice at Thirsk in May, while Glencalvie and recent Newmarket scorer Where's Freddy are a couple of others to consider.
An open-looking contest which can go the way of WHERE'S FREDDY, who took a sizeable step forward equipped with a first-time tongue strap when getting off the mark at Newmarket in July and with this step up to 1m holding no fears, he can kick on now up and running. Gone is proving most consistent so Charlie Johnston's filly may emerge as the main danger, with Dreaming Spires and Valtellina also fancied to go well for Harry Eustace.
The prospect of softening ground won't faze handicap debutante GLENCALVIE who has caught the eye on a couple of occasions.

Needs to find more as she drops back down in grade. Second last month at Brighton but her efforts either side of that have been modest. |

Interesting contender back up in trip for his handicap debut. Has ability but goes handicapping on the back of his least effective run yet. |

3rd (9) (12/1 +82%) Fast Flo |
12/1(+82%) | (9) Fast Flo 12/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. 33/1, unable to land a blow when seventh of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (1m) 7 days ago. Looks to be vulnerable once more. Placed a couple of times but now 0-18 after two modest runs on the AW. |

5/6(+63%) | (1) The Spotlight Kid 5/6, Won at this C&D on final 2 starts last year. Not discredited when fourth of 11 in handicap (6/1) at Kempton (7f) 3 days ago. Leading contender back at this venue. Won this last year and returns on the back of a recent good run on the AW. |

5th (5) (12/1 -243%) Daring Guest |
12/1(-243%) | (5) Daring Guest 12/1, C&D winner. After 11 weeks off, returned to winning ways in good style in 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 9/2) last August. Remains well treated on old form, so he's respected despite his absence. C&D winner in 2017; better horse on the AW and forecast soft groud is not ideal. |

6th (8) (50/1 -25%) Minack |
50/1(-25%) | (8) Minack 50/1, After 2 months off, never involved when eighth of 10 on handicap debut at Salisbury (6f, good to firm, 16/1) 6 days ago. Improvement required upped in trip. This longer trip is worth a go but plenty of guesswork involved to make a case. |

7th (7) (18/1 -80%) Poetic Jack |
18/1(-80%) | (7) Poetic Jack 18/1, Run best excused when fifth of 6 on handicap debut (6/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 58 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Could yet do better returned to this longer distance on his turf debut. Ordinary form so far including on handicap debut at Chelmsford two months ago. |

8th (2) (12/1 -118%) Global Spectrum |
12/1(-118%) | (2) Global Spectrum 12/1, Winner in Hong Kong but, after 9 months off, well held when last of 7 in handicap (33/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in April on sole run for Anthony Carson. Has further 5-month absence to overcome back with former yard. Lots to prove on many counts, including his effectiveness on forecast slow ground. |

9th (4) (6/1 +0%) Split Elevens |
6/1(+0%) | (4) Split Elevens 6/1, Won twice this year, latest success at Southwell in March. 22/1, respectable third of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good) 34 days ago. Capable of getting involved having dropped below his last winning mark. Hasn't been running badly in 7f/1m handicaps at Newmarket and couldn't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (80/1 -21%) Ritarocks |
80/1(-21%) | (10) Ritarocks 80/1, Again offered little when sixth of 9 in handicap at this course (6f, good to firm, 150/1) 42 days ago. Step up in distance not enough to tempt. Well beaten in her three handicaps (5f/6f) and would be a surprise winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Daring Guest was a comfortable four-length victor at Lingfield on his latest outing and a 3lb higher mark is unlikely to keep him out of contention, but he will need to transfer that all-weather form to the turf. With that in mind, SPLIT ELEVENS gets the vote after his third at Newmarket. The five-year-old is now 1lb lower than his last winning mark and he could record his seventh career success. Any market support for Seattle Time on his handicap bow would be interesting.
THE SPOTLIGHT KID has looked on the way back to form on his last 2 starts, rallying having been forced to switch when fourth at Kempton 3 days ago, so he could be ready to land a third C&D victory. Daring Guest remains well treated on old form so isn't taken lightly despite his lengthy absence, while Seattle Time also merits consideration now handicapping.
The one with the least to prove is last year's winner THE SPOTLIGHT KID (nap) who ran well at Kempton on Monday.

9/2(+63%) | (10) Primrose Maid 9/2, Very good second of 10 in handicap (13/2) at this C&D (good) 25 days ago. Place claims again from same mark. Best effort when second over C&D latest; needs to build on that now. |

2nd (7) (4/1 +43%) Goose Rock |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Goose Rock 4/1, Latest win at Lingfield in July but wasn't in same form when down the field there last time. Back down in trip. Others more persuasive. Won over 1m1f on soft in July but disappointing next time and now down 2f in trip. |

3rd (3) (13/2 -30%) Moralisa |
13/2(-30%) | (3) Moralisa 13/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Took backward step when sixth of 9 in handicap (5/1) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 39 days ago. Still early days but she'll likely need to improve to win this. Placed twice in 6f maidens but only sixth on handicap debut latest. |

4th (1) (2/1 +43%) Media Guest |
2/1(+43%) | (1) Media Guest 2/1, Again ran well when third of 9 in handicap (9/2) at Brighton (7f, good) 31 days ago. Can give a good account. Arrives in form and should give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (8/1 +33%) Arbaawi |
8/1(+33%) | (2) Arbaawi 8/1, Latest win at Lingfield in July. 12/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 15 days ago. Others preferred. Won on soft turf in July; well held here next time but latest AW effort respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (9/1 -50%) Show Of Hands |
9/1(-50%) | (9) Show Of Hands 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Made more impact when third of 4 in handicap at Ffos Las (7.4f, soft, 20/1) 27 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and isn't ruled out from basement mark. Better signs when third at Ffos Las latest but it was a four-runner race; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/1 +52%) Onemoreandaway |
16/1(+52%) | (6) Onemoreandaway 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 6 in minor event (200/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 37 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Will need to show more to defy this opening mark. Only minor promise so far but more chance now handicapping; tongue-tied first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (22/1 +45%) Tammany Hall |
22/1(+45%) | (8) Tammany Hall 22/1, One win from 35 Flat runs. Thirty runs since last win in 2020. 33/1, last of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good) 25 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Went close on Lingfield yard debut but well beaten here in two subsequent starts; visor on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MEDIA GUEST has been a model of consistency recently, as he has hit the frame on each of his last three outings, with the latest effort coming when third at Brighton. Off the same mark, the son of Belardo ought to go very close. Galileo Glass has been sent off favourite the last twice and he justified that support on his penultimate start at Wolverhampton. Show Of Hands completes the shortlist in first-time cheekpieces.
GALILEO GLASS has been in good form this year and went close to following up his Wolverhampton win at Catterick last time, so gets the verdict here ahead of Media Guest. The lightly-weighted pair Show of Hands and Primrose Maid complete the shortlist.
The most solid option is GALILEO GLASS who ran well for a close third at Catterick last week and is due to be 2lb higher from Saturday.
Ths is the racecard key.
