|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/1 -69%) Vilaine Verlaine |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Vilaine Verlaine 11/1, Never able to land a blow when eighth of 16 in maiden at Chepstow (7.1f, good) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut and 1m will suit. One of several in this line-up who might get more competitive now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (25/1 -108%) Freak Encounter |
25/1(-108%) | (8) Freak Encounter 25/1, Gelded and fared little better switched to a nursery when fifth of 8 at Chepstow (7.1f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Just a respectable fifth on recent nursery debut (7f); may fare better over 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/5 +72%) Hawaii Five O |
7/5(+72%) | (4) Hawaii Five O 7/5, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, eleventh of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f) 29 days ago. Nurseries more suitable and he has cheekpieces on for the first time. Soundly beaten in all three qualifying races but is bred to be a cut above this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (17/2 -31%) Unex Friendly |
17/2(-31%) | (3) Unex Friendly 17/2, Still looked in need of the experience when seventh of 10 in novice at Kempton (8f) 22 days ago. Makes nursery debut and she's a potential improver. Seems rather harshly weighted for this nursery debut but remains very unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (50/1 -52%) Astroqualis |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Astroqualis 50/1, Thirteenth of 14 in novice (200/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 52 days ago. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Dylan Cunha ahead of nursery bow. A well-beaten outsider in three novice races for Dylan Cunha; 10lb wrong for nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/2 -22%) Lolapalooza |
11/2(-22%) | (7) Lolapalooza 11/2, Denied a clear run when fifth of 7 in nursery at Leicester (7f, good to soft, 7/1) 9 days ago. Shortlist material from the same mark. Moves up in trip after keeping on quite well for fifth on recent nursery debut (7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (33/1 -32%) Don't Get Caught |
33/1(-32%) | (9) Don't Get Caught 33/1, 200/1 and blinkered for first time, thirteenth of 16 in maiden at Chepstow (7.1f, good) 24 days ago. This race should see him in a better light. Showed no significant promise in his three qualifying races last month; 9lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (9/1 -100%) No Release |
9/1(-100%) | (6) No Release 9/1, Eighth of 11 in novice at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm) 17 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Makes handicap debut and could step up on that. Down the field on all three starts (7f-1m); opening mark demands improvement. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
It might pay to concentrate on those towards the top of the racecard, with the recently-gelded GLENRIDDING fancied to carry top-weight to victory on his nursery debut. His three qualifying runs have been moderately progressive and with the step up in trip an interesting move, the son of Ulysses can stamp his authority on a weak race. Vilaine Verlaine and Unex Friendly appeal as the pick of the rest.
Little in the way of worthwhile form in this but GLENRIDDING showed a bit more when fifth at Catterick on his final qualifying run and gelded ahead of this nursery debut, he may improve again. Lolapalooza and Unex Friendly are a pair of potential threats.
One possible improver in this low-grade nursery is well-bred gelding HAWAII FIVE O, who sports first-time cheekpieces.

14/1(+13%) | (2) Far From Dandy 14/1, Seemed backwards when sixth of 12 in maiden (13/2) at Newcastle (7.1f) on debut 4 days ago. Should improve. Showed some ability but also a tendency to run in snatches on recent debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(-14%) | (6) Wine Dark Sea 16/1, Foaled February 27. Ulysses colt. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Mutashaded. Newcomer who is bred for middle distances; probably best watched over this trip. |

7/2(0%) | (7) Zou's Your Daddy 7/2, Made a promising start to his career when narrowly denied on his 7f Kempton debut. Out of his depth in Group 3 at Sandown next time but should go well back at this level. Well held in Group 3 last month but his earlier debut was very promising. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (28/1 -12%) Ruling Master |
28/1(-12%) | (4) Ruling Master 28/1, €31,000 foal, €36,000 2-y-o, Holy Roman Emperor colt. Dam twice-raced half-sister to 2-y-o 7f winner (stayed 1½m) Savanna La Mar and 2-y-o 6f winner So In Love (both useful). 10/1, ninth of 12 in maiden at Haydock (7f, good) on debut 14 days ago, met some trouble. Too green to do himself justive when ninth of 12 on recent Haydock debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (3/1 +50%) Make Love |
3/1(+50%) | (14) Make Love 3/1, Fair maiden. Creditable fourth of 9 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 8/1) 30 days ago. Beginning to look exposed after four runs but has the form to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (12/1 +14%) Everyoneknowsadave |

Dam, maiden (best effort at 1m), half-sister to useful 6f-1m winner Ex Cetera. 18/1, sixth of 16 in maiden at Chepstow (7.1f, good) on debut 24 days ago, slowly away. Open to improvement. Nearly 5l behind Dapper Gee Gee but still made encouraging debut at Chepstow last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (125/1 -400%) Watkins |
125/1(-400%) | (5) Watkins 125/1, Twice-raced gelding. 16/1 and hooded for 1st time, seventh of 9 in maiden at Brighton (7f, soft) 10 days ago. Flopped when favourite on debut and spoiled chance by racing too freely last time. |

Dam 7f winner who stayed 1¼m. 22/1, second of 16 in maiden at Chepstow (7.1f, good) on debut 24 days ago, closing all way to line. Should progress. Ran on well to finish second of 16 on last month's debut at Chepstow (7f); one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (11/1 -38%) Lantern Yard |
11/1(-38%) | (13) Lantern Yard 11/1, Foaled April 12. Ribchester filly. Dam, 1½m-1¾m winner, closely related to smart 10.5f winner Alkandora out of useful 2-y-o 1m winner Poplin. One to note. Out of a well-connected 1m4f/1m6f winner; Oisin Murphy booked on debut; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (80/1 -100%) Captain Brett |
80/1(-100%) | (1) Captain Brett 80/1, 20,000 gns yearling, Sea The Moon gelding. Half-brother to 7f/7.6f winner Berkshire Phantom. Dam useful winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 7f winner). 12/1 and hooded, last of 10 in novice at Kempton (8f) on debut 30 days ago, slowly away. 5/2(+25%) | (11) Master Of Zest 5/2, $20,000 yearling, Mastery colt. Dam Canadian 6.5f-1m (including minor stakes) winner. Better effort when third of 18 in novice at York (7f, good to firm, 7/1) 55 days ago, clear of rest. In the mix. Third of 18 in pretty good 7f York novice in July; ought to be in the thick of things. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
He found a Group 3 race too hot on his second start but ZOU'S YOUR DADDY can now build upon his very promising debut.

1st (2) (4/1 +60%) Charging Thunder |
4/1(+60%) | (2) Charging Thunder 4/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2022 and again failed to keep straight under pressure when third of 7 in handicap (14/1) at Southwell (14.1f) 15 days ago. Drops back in grade on first run for yard after leaving David O'Meara. Dry in over two years; can pull hard and often hangs left but still capable; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 -45%) Environment Amigo |
4/1(-45%) | (8) Environment Amigo 4/1, Showed improved form upped in distance when opening his account in 6-runner handicap at Southwell (14.1f, 7/2) 24 days ago, digging deep after going for home early. Respected with more still to offer as a stayer. Open to improvement for a yard enjoying a good September and is high on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 +22%) Galactic Charm |
7/1(+22%) | (4) Galactic Charm 7/1, Off the mark at Newmarket in August, before possibly finding the race coming too soon 5 days later when seventh of 8 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 4/1) 35 days ago. Could bounce back as he goes up in distance. Isn't straightforward; latest run leaves him something to prove off his revised mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/4 +22%) Cool Legend |
7/4(+22%) | (5) Cool Legend 7/4, Upped in trip in first-time tongue strap, first past the post in 7-runner handicap at Thirsk (14f, good to firm, 9/4) 20 days ago, subsequently demoted having caused interference. Could be able to make amends this time around. Will again be popular for last year's winning yard but wouldn't be one to trust implicitly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (20/1 -208%) Prince Maxi |
20/1(-208%) | (3) Prince Maxi 20/1, First outing since leaving George Scott when creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW, 9/1) 2 weeks ago, staying on again final 1f. Can give his running again upped in trip with blinkers reapplied. Looked worth another try at this trip latest; ran fairly in one previous start in blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/2 +50%) Wahraan |
11/2(+50%) | (1) Wahraan 11/2, Took advantage of his reduced mark at Newbury in June. Has made the frame all 4 starts since, but was typically slowly away when third of 11 in handicap (8/1) at Southwell (16.5f) 3 weeks ago. Capable if on a going day. This mark is within range if getting a better break and finding things falling his way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Demoted from first to second when he caused interference near the finish at Thirsk last month, COOL LEGEND could be a different proposition now he has proven this trip is within his compass and he can put the record straight if he stays out of trouble this time. Charging Thunder has stronger credentials than some of the rest over this trip and can give the selection the most to think about, although Wahraan and the lightly-raced Prince Maxi can also get competitive on these terms.
COOL LEGEND left behind a lesser effort when first past the post at Thirsk, so he is worth another chance to open his account for the season as he makes only his second start at this trip. It also remains early days as a stayer for Environment Amigo and he is feared most, ahead of Galactic Charm.
A number of characters on show and ENVIRONMENT AMIGO looks the way to go. The expensive-to-follow Cool Legend is second choice.

1st (5) (9/4 +55%) Redorange |
9/4(+55%) | (5) Redorange 9/4, Thrice-raced maiden. Improved again when second of 12 in novice at Salisbury (6f, good to firm, 11/1) 36 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Not taken lightly. Better with each start in novice company; leading claims now handicapping in a tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/8 +35%) Glitterati |
13/8(+35%) | (1) Glitterati 13/8, Lightly-raced winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this year. 3/1, career best when winning 13-runner novice at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 38 days ago. No chances taken with opening mark but respected nevertheless. Inclined to hang left most starts, including twice when making all in the summer; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 +46%) Force And Valour |
7/2(+46%) | (4) Force And Valour 7/2, Thrice-raced winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Winner at Thirsk in August. 11/2, possibly unsuited by conditions when seventh of 14 in valuable sales race at Newmarket (6f, soft) 26 days ago. Could resume progress now switched to a nursery. Unsuited by the soft ground in a sales race last time; potentially well treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/1 0%) Ruby's Profit |
7/1(0%) | (7) Ruby's Profit 7/1, 16/1, respectable fourth of 14 in valuable sales race at Newmarket (6f, soft) 26 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Needs to learn to settle but can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Debut AW winner in the spring; highly tried on turf since and struggled. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (40/1 -150%) Baileys Jubilation |
40/1(-150%) | (3) Baileys Jubilation 40/1, Winner at Lingfield in June. Creditable fourth of 8 in nursery (10/1) at Beverley (5f, good) 25 days ago. Up in trip. Can give a good account but others appeal as more open to progress. Was on the go early and is exposed; no certainty this extra furlong will see improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 -157%) Oakley Boy |
18/1(-157%) | (8) Oakley Boy 18/1, Winner at Chelmsford City in June. 11/8, fourth of 7 in nursery at Chelmsford City (5f) 19 days ago. Back up in trip. May prove vulnerable to more progressive types. Better on the AW than turf so far; this is tougher than on Polytrack latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FORCE AND VALOUR struggled in a valuable sales race at Newmarket last time, but his previous maiden form suggests that an opening mark of 79 should be workable on his nursery debut. With that in mind, the son of Mehmas gets the vote ahead of Redorange, who has been progressive in novice company and may improve for the application of a first-time tongue-tie. Glitterati completes the shortlist.
ARDENNES was biting off more than he could chew at listed level last time but his earlier fourth in a strong Goodwood nursery makes him still of significant interest, having been dropped 1 lb since to boot. Redorange can continue on an upward curve now in a nursery, whilst Force And Valour also remains with potential.
Soft ground did for FORCE AND VALOUR in a sales race last time. He's given another chance and is preferred to Redorange.

1st (6) (7/2 +30%) First Folio |
7/2(+30%) | (6) First Folio 7/2, C&D winner. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm, 10/3) 33 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Eyeshields on first time. Yet to add to his 2022 win in this race but returns here after three pretty good efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (16/1 -33%) Inishfallen |
16/1(-33%) | (2) Inishfallen 16/1, Useful at 2 but hasn't got close to that level in 3 outings this year. Bounce back needed. Showed some smart form as a 2yo but this season has been a struggle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/1 +45%) Rocking Ends |
6/1(+45%) | (8) Rocking Ends 6/1, Latest win at Newmarket in July. 14/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Haydock (5f, good) 12 days ago. Back up in trip. Looks competitive on form. Largely in good form over 5f for new stable since the spring and should be okay back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (2/1 +43%) Smart Hero |
2/1(+43%) | (7) Smart Hero 2/1, Pretty useful form and looked suited by the drop to sprinting when off the mark in 6f Southwell maiden at the end of August. Unexposed, particularly at this trip. Went close on handicap debut at Sandown (7f) last month then comfortably won 6f AW maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 +27%) Amazonian Dream |
11/2(+27%) | (4) Amazonian Dream 11/2, Has been in very good form over 6f at Windsor this summer, winning twice (both under Oisin Murphy) and placed on 3 other occasions. Lost chance at the start at Goodwood last time and treated as if still in form. Didn't fire last time but is a big player if judged on earlier run of good form at Windsor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (14/1 -27%) Tiger Crusade |
14/1(-27%) | (10) Tiger Crusade 14/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Respectable sixth of 10 in handicap (12/1) at Goodwood (6f, good) 16 days ago. Not at best this year and probably needs others to set a very strong pace. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (10/1 +9%) The X O |
10/1(+9%) | (1) The X O 10/1, Dual AW winner who was also a good third on turf at Epsom (7f) in May. Shaped as if still in good form when ninth of 26 in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot and this easier than the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood he ran in last time. Placed over 7f at Epsom in May; subsequent defeats came in valuable races; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (16/1 -100%) Buccabay |
16/1(-100%) | (5) Buccabay 16/1, Latest win at Haydock in June. 6/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Chester (6f, good) later that month. First run for yard after leaving Eve Johnson Houghton. In career-best form in June; now with new stable, following 62,000euros sale. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (28/1 -250%) Habrdi |
28/1(-250%) | (3) Habrdi 28/1, Progressive when winning 3 times at up to 1m at the end of 2023. Not disgraced in a pair of AW listed races in March but last of 10 in German 2000 Guineas at Cologne when last seen in May (final start for Jane Chapple-Hyam). Best watched down in trip for new yard. Absent since struggling in 1m German Group 2 in May; back sprinting for new stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

4/1(+0%) | (7) Cavalry Call 4/1, Ran best race when second of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 4/1) 9 days ago, clear of rest. Must enter calculations. 2lb well-in and clearly shortlist material but has to prove he's as effective on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/1 +21%) Falcon Nine |
11/1(+21%) | (9) Falcon Nine 11/1, Fair maiden who again wasn't seen to best effect when 3 lengths eighth of 10 to Ratafia in handicap (11/2) at this C&D (good) 25 days ago, racing away from main action. Longstanding maiden for two yards who often misses the break; needs to settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/4 +84%) Adelabella |
9/4(+84%) | (5) Adelabella 9/4, Latest win at Newmarket in August but ran below form when fifth of 6 in handicap (7/4) at Sandown (8f, good) 20 days ago. Maybe found her revised mark beyond her last time and this is tougher if anything. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (14/1 +0%) Blenheim Star |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Blenheim Star 14/1, Latest win at Brighton in July and not seen to best effect when seventh of 10 in handicap at Salisbury (8f, good to firm, 11/2) 20 days ago, not ideally placed. Not as good the past twice (ran flat at Brighton); some way down the pecking order. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (16/1 -14%) Anglo Saxson |
16/1(-14%) | (12) Anglo Saxson 16/1, 3-time C&D winner who wasted no time getting back to form when 1½ lengths fourth of 10 to Ratafia in handicap at this C&D (good) 25 days ago. Four-time course winner (three over C&D) who rarely runs badly round here; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 -10%) Maysong |
22/1(-10%) | (6) Maysong 22/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2023 and struggling for form at present. Cheekpieces back on. Hasn't looked to see out 1m2f the past twice and a better showing wouldn't surprise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/1 +42%) Scarlet Lady |
7/1(+42%) | (3) Scarlet Lady 7/1, Course winner last month and can have her latest effort at Newmarket excused given where she raced. 8 lb higher here, though. New 8lb higher mark has now kicked in and she'll need a good step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/1 +36%) Born A Rebel |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Born A Rebel 9/1, C&D winner in April but followed a below-par effort with an even worse one in a first-time visor at Newmarket (7f, good) 27 days ago. Others more persuasive. Expensive to follow since winning a weak C&D handicap on her comeback off 3lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (17/2 -13%) Bonaventure |
17/2(-13%) | (13) Bonaventure 17/2, Winner at Windsor in August and was unlucky not to finish closer when fourth of 10 in handicap (11/2) at Salisbury (8f, good to firm) 20 days ago. Still may have more to offer at this trip and can give another good account. This mark could be within range if he settles better into a bigger field; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (11/1 +21%) Royal Parade |
11/1(+21%) | (1) Royal Parade 11/1, Course winner who ran one of this season's better races when fourth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, good, 11/1) 48 days ago. More miss than hit for his current yard but holds each-way claims down another 2lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GRACIOUS LEADER wasn't able to follow up on his Lingfield success at Kempton last month, but it was still a creditable performance. Now in the care of George Boughey, the unexposed three-year-old sports a first-time tongue-tie and he could resume progress back on the grass. Oisin Murphy gets aboard Claxton Bay for the first time and he would hold every chance if building on his recent Salisbury second. Others to note include Ratafia and Adelabella.
GRACIOUS LEADER has made a good start to life in handicaps and, with further improvement anticipated now setting out for another top stable, he's fancied to come out on top. Cavalry Call was beaten only by a well-treated rival at Lingfield last week, while Bonaventure remains unexposed at this trip and is another to consider, along with recent C&D winner Ratafia.
Plenty to consider, headed by GRACIOUS LEADER (nap), who's open to more improvement for his new yard. Maysong is next best.

(1) (9/2 +55%)9/2(+55%) | (1) I Can't Believe 9/2, Left John & Thady Gosden (for 18,000 gns) after Windsor debut in May and little to shout about in both subsequent outings, again tardy at the start when last of 3 in maiden at Chepstow (5.1f, good, 10/3) 24 days ago. Back up in trip for handicap bow and watching brief advised. Not living up to his pedigree; needs to improve to make winning handicap debut. |

1st (5) (9/2 +63%) Flying Secret |
9/2(+63%) | (5) Flying Secret 9/2, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/1, unproven at the trip and never involved when seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) just under 3 weeks ago. Was a winner on his last visit to the track and could be worth chancing from a reduced mark back down in trip. Dual 7f winner in 2023; not firing on all cylinders this year but on a tempting mark now. |

2nd (4) (15/2 -36%) King Of War |
15/2(-36%) | (4) King Of War 15/2, Creditable third of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (7.1f, good to firm, 4/1) 16 days ago. Operating a notch below the form he was showing earlier in the summer and given a chance by the assessor as a result. Cheekpieces added to his usual tongue tie. Rather disappointing since two 7f seconds in the spring but cheekpieces might aid him. |

14/1(+44%) | (11) Moreginplease 14/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. 25/1, fared no better back up in trip when eighth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 30 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere. Placed twice over C&D this summer; needs to better her recent efforts, though. |

4th (2) (25/1 -79%) Gamblers Kitty |
25/1(-79%) | (2) Gamblers Kitty 25/1, 9/2, again too free and didn't see things out when sixth of 9 in maiden at Brighton (7f, good to soft) when last seen in May. Back in a handicap and will need to hit the ground running if he's to feature. Placed in AW maiden in March but two lesser efforts followed; returns from a break today. |

5th (6) (9/2 -50%) On Song |
9/2(-50%) | (6) On Song 9/2, Winner at Brighton in August. Looked unlucky not to win when second of 5 in handicap at Brighton (7f, soft, 11/4) 10 days ago, keeping on well after badly hampered around halfway. Should make amends kept to this similar company. Won at Brighton last month and did well to go close there recently, having been hampered. |

6th (7) (9/1 +36%) Just Rita |
9/1(+36%) | (7) Just Rita 9/1, 22/1, again ran below form when sixth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good) just under 4 weeks ago. Looks to have her work cut out. Placed twice off this mark in the spring but needs to find extra to get a win on the board. |

7th (10) (11/4 +39%) Split Elevens |
11/4(+39%) | (10) Split Elevens 11/4, On a roll right now, winning 4 of his last 5 starts, latest in 6-runner handicap (9/5) at Lingfield (7f, AW) just over a fortnight ago. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (11/2) at Brighton (7f, good) 2 days ago. Merits consideration. In-form 6yo who has won four times over 7f since July; fourth at Brighton on Tuesday. |

8th (3) (16/1 -60%) Vinaka |
16/1(-60%) | (3) Vinaka 16/1, 7/1, failed to repeat penultimate effort when fifth of 7 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Down to a career-low mark and a first-time tongue strap is added. Close third at Brighton in new cheekpieces last month; not quite in same form there since. |

9th (8) (11/2 +0%) Zaltalla |
11/2(+0%) | (8) Zaltalla 11/2, Ran well on form but again failed to impress with his attitude when third of 5 in handicap (9/2) at Brighton (7f, soft) 10 days ago, rallying briefly well inside final 1f. Player provided he keeps his quirks in check. Ran well when close third at Brighton last week but was just behind the unlucky On Song. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
C&D winner FLYING SECRET has recently suggested he might be ready to exploit some help from the handicapper, and he gets the vote.
