Noah's Light |
(9) (12/1 -85%)12/1(-85%) | (9) Noah's Light 12/1, Hurdles winner in Ireland for Declan Queally. Tumbled in the weights for this yard and finally made some impact when second of 6 at Fakenham last month. That wasn't much of a race. Produced his best performance over fences when second at Fakenham last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (7/2 +13%) Calvic |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Calvic 7/2, Off the mark at second attempt for new yard when taking 8-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon in March. Sound second back there 3 weeks ago and one to consider with cheekpieces on for the first time. Broke his duck over fences at Huntingdon in March off 5lb lower mark; second last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (22/1 +12%) Jac Jumper |
22/1(+12%) | (1) Jac Jumper 22/1, Fairly useful form over hurdles and fences in France but hasn't offered much in 4 starts for his current yard. Hopes pinned on return to the larger obstacles. Ex-French; pulled up in three of four starts over hurdles in Britain.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/1 -38%) Blazing Court |
11/1(-38%) | (3) Blazing Court 11/1, Produced his best effort when ½-length second of 11 to Sir Canford in novice handicap at Uttoxeter last summer. Ran no sort with race when pulled up on his return in April but he's a chaser on looks so fences could be the making of him. Maiden (0-9); pulled up over hurdles at Southwell in April; chasing debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +11%) Camino Rocio |
4/1(+11%) | (5) Camino Rocio 4/1, Milan gelding who looked right at home over fences when runner-up to What A Steal on chase debut over C&D 12 days ago. Nudged up 2 lb but he's not yet exposed. Second to What A Steal over C&D this month; 5lb better off with that rival for 4l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 -40%) Dreaming Diamond |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Dreaming Diamond 7/1, Bumper winner earlier in her career. Pulled up both starts in hunters for Paul King but rejoined previous yard and having attracted support, she showed more when third over hurdles at Huntingdon 17 days ago. One to consider back over the larger obstacles. Won bumper for this yard in June 2022; encouraging third over hurdles last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (16/1 +36%) Beannaigh Do |
16/1(+36%) | (10) Beannaigh Do 16/1, Offered more when second on Ffos Las chase debut last spring but has failed to build on that, adding to a patchy record when pulled up at Ludlow in February and didn't show much more at Hereford 3 weeks ago. Back up in trip. Fourth at Hereford last month and now 0-16 under all codes.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (5/1 -67%) What A Steal |
5/1(-67%) | (4) What A Steal 5/1, Record rather mixed over hurdles but he left his chase debut run well behind when landing 14-runner C&D handicap 12 days ago, seeing off Camino Rocio by 4 lengths. Back up 7 lb but he has to be of interest. 20-1 winner on 2nd chase attempt (C&D); back up 7lb but should go on from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (22/1 -57%) Bari Breeze |
22/1(-57%) | (7) Bari Breeze 22/1, Bumper winner with a mixed record over hurdles and has shown very little over fences so far. Dropped a long way in the weights ahead of this first run for 8 months/now under the care of Harriet Dickin. Inconsistent 9yo making stable debut after eight-month break; best watched.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (22/1 -10%) Call Me Sainte |
22/1(-10%) | (11) Call Me Sainte 22/1, Little form in a bumper/over hurdles but did show something from a long way out of the weights sent chasing at Ffos Las. Modest fifth on chasing debut at Ffos Las in April; 1lb wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Dropping in trip brought about marked improvement from WHAT A STEAL on his second start over fences when getting off the mark here at the start of the month. The handicapper gave him a 7lb rise for that success and the son of Flemensfirth may well have more to offer. Camino Rocio also took a step in the right direction when runner-up to the selection on his first attempt over the larger obstacles and he is respected, along with Calvic, who sports cheekpieces for the first time.
It could be worth taking a chance on BLAZING COURT, who has yet to win a race but is certainly built for chasing and tackles fences for the first time here. What A Steal and Camino Rocio occupied the first two positions in a C&D handicap recently and are just a couple of potential threats.
This looks between WHAT A STEAL and Camino Rocio who fought out the finish here recently and the former can confirm the placings

1st (2) (4/1 -129%) Matterhorn |
4/1(-129%) | (2) Matterhorn 4/1, Defied a penalty in fine style following his third breathing operation and a 7-month break at Taunton (16.5f, good to soft) in November and made a successful chasing debut at Ludlow (16f, good to firm) last month, outclassing his sole inferior rival. Can win more races over fences. Made winning start over fences in a match at Ludlow last month; looks sure to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/1 -300%) Boombawn |
10/1(-300%) | (1) Boombawn 10/1, Useful hurdler who made the perfect start over fences when scoring with plenty left in the tank at Warwick last month. Couldn't immediately add to his chasing debut success but still shaped perfectly well when third in a handicap at Cartmel (17.3f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Plenty to like. Made winning debut over fences at Warwick last month; good third at Cartmel last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (40/1 -1900%) Parc D'amour |
40/1(-1900%) | (3) Parc D'amour 40/1, Bumper winner who gained a deserved success over hurdles in 12-runner Huntingdon handicap in November. Also made a cosy winning start over fences despite looking in need of the experience in the jumping department at Southwell (15.8f, heavy) recently and is capable of better again. Made winning debut over fences at Southwell last month; has been raised 6lb.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (400/1 -5614%) Somespring Special |
400/1(-5614%) | (4) Somespring Special 400/1, Dual winning hurdler. Pulled up on testing winter ground in her first 2 chases but a different proposition back on a sounder surface this spring, winning handicaps at Plumpton and Cheltenham in quick succession in April. Better than result at Bangor 4 weeks ago, so she can bounce back. Won twice over fences in April, but below that level at Bangor last month.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
MATTERHORN had become disappointing over hurdles before returning to form on his fencing debut at Ludlow when scoring in a match contest. He jumped fine on the whole after an early error and the handicapper left his mark unchanged. Parc d'Amour went up 6lb for his victory at Southwell last month and is entitled to step forward, while Boombawn's third at Cartmel was a solid effort against more experienced chasers.
A case can be made for all 4 runners, but preference is for BOOMBAWN, who made a winning start over fences at Warwick then shaped perfectly well pitched into a strongly-run race against much more established chasers when third at Cartmel last month. Both Matterhorn and Parc d'Amour made a winning chasing debut last month, and they can chase home Dan Skelton's charge in that order.
An intriguing puzzle but BOOMBAWN is the more reliable option. The quirky but talented \Parc d'Amour\p is second best.

Party Business |
(1) (11/1 +0%)11/1(+0%) | (1) Party Business 11/1, Useful hurdler but this thorough stayer was pulled up in handicap chase (13/2) at Southwell (20.4f, good) on his debut over fences 2 days ago. Ran well in two good hurdles this spring but his chasing debut on Tuesday was very poor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
One More Fleurie |
(10) (14/1 -27%)14/1(-27%) | (10) One More Fleurie 14/1, Good second over fences at Doncaster in December but he came in a well-held fifth back hurdling at Warwick 33 days ago. Reverts to fences with more required. Game second over fences in December but back in the doldrums over hurdles last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (15/2 +38%) Tiger Orchid |
15/2(+38%) | (4) Tiger Orchid 15/2, Dual C&D winner last summer who posted a respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Leicester (22.7f, heavy) 142 days ago. Not ruled out after a break. Dual C&D winner last summer; off since December but resumes on a workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (13/2 +46%) Ajp Kingdom |
13/2(+46%) | (9) Ajp Kingdom 13/2, Won a trio of uncompetitive hurdles early last summer but pulled up on his last three outings, including on his chasing bow at Herford 31 days ago. Hard to warm to. Pulled up in two hurdles in the autumn and disappointed again on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (15/8 +46%) Scrum Diddly |
15/8(+46%) | (7) Scrum Diddly 15/8, Progressive over hurdles for Oliver Sherwood and he got off the mark in this sphere in 4-runner handicap chase at Southwell (25.8f, heavy) 22 days ago. Player despite a 2 lb rise. Came good over fences at Southwell last month and probably still has potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/2 +31%) Percussion |
11/2(+31%) | (3) Percussion 11/2, It's now twelve runs since his last win in 2022 but he recorded a creditable second of 5 in hunter chase at Ludlow (23.8f, good) 50 days ago. In the mix. Second in good hunter chase in April and returns to a handicap on a tempting mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (25/1 -178%) Jessie Lightfoot |
25/1(-178%) | (11) Jessie Lightfoot 25/1, Revitalised by a return to Henry Oliver, scoring over fences at Taunton and Southwell before a solid third of 11 back hurdling at Warwick last time. Needs considering despite being 2 lb out of the handicap. 2-4 since rejoining Henry Oliver; 2lb wrong today but still considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (200/1 -1329%) Dublin Four |
200/1(-1329%) | (2) Dublin Four 200/1, Largely ran with credit over fences for Fergal O'Brien but off 13 months before only seventh back hurdling at Kempton on his yard debut last month. Handily weighted if back on song reverted to this sphere. Well handicapped on old form; returned from long absence with low-key hurdle run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (450/1 -8082%) Amrons Sage |
450/1(-8082%) | (6) Amrons Sage 450/1, A fairly useful winner at 21f over hurdles but he has twice failed to build on a promising chasing start, pulled up in handicap chase at Aintree (19.9f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Others are preferred. Ran big race in defeat on chasing debut but two very disappointing efforts have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (250/1 -4067%) Morning Spirit |
250/1(-4067%) | (8) Morning Spirit 250/1, Got back on track when second of 6 in handicap chase at Southwell (24.3f, good) 37 days ago. Needs to back it up now despite a 2 lb rise. Stuck to his task pretty well when second at Southwell last month but is not very reliable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
SCRUM DIDDLY returned from a break when gaining a first success over fences at Southwell last month and the six-year-old remains capable of further progress, especially with conditions in his favour. Morning Spirit bounced back to form when runner-up on his latest start and is likely to be competitive again. Jessie Lightfoot, One More Fleurie and Tiger Orchid appeal most of the remainder.
A few with chances but SCRUM DIDDLY is taken to build on his breakthrough chasing victory at Southwell off just a 2 lb higher mark. Ludlow runner-up Percussion is on a lengthy losing sequence but still feared most, while both Jessie Lightfoot and Dublin Four need factoring into this open contest.
Preference is for PERCUSSION, who chased home an in-form rival in a hunter chase in April and returns to a handicap on a good mark.

1st (6) (10/1 -100%) Bucko's Boy |
10/1(-100%) | (6) Bucko's Boy 10/1, Better than ever following a breathing operation when landing handicaps at Bangor and Stratford in August prior to an excellent second at Kelso. Found his run of good form coming to a halt at Cheltenham on final outing but could bounce back after a break. Won twice last August; unexposed over this trip but has fitness to prove after his break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 +20%) Lallygag |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Lallygag 4/1, Stopped the slide in a first-time tongue strap when third of 13 in handicap hurdle at Warwick (21f, good) 33 days ago, though he again failed to see his race out with much conviction. Lost his way last season but seemed to be aided by tongue-tie when placed last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (12/1 -50%) Mr Yeats |
12/1(-50%) | (9) Mr Yeats 12/1, Fair handicap hurdler who wasn't disgraced when sixth of 12 in stronger handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cartmel (25.4f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Respected eased 1 lb. Didn't really have the race run to suit when sixth on stable debut; could have a say here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 +14%) Peking Rose |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Peking Rose 6/1, One win from 3 runs last season and not disgraced when fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Ran well for a long way at Uttoxeter last month and is now 5lb below his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (300/1 -1775%) Flight Deck |
300/1(-1775%) | (2) Flight Deck 300/1, Smart on his day for Jonjo O'Neill and he took his form up a notch for his current yard when an excellent third in Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury. Not in same form all 3 starts since however, running a moody race at Haydock last month. Started off for stable with two big runs in the autumn; not in same form this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (400/1 -1112%) Sporty Jim |
400/1(-1112%) | (10) Sporty Jim 400/1, Low-mileage 7-y-o who has been pulled up both starts for present yard. Pulled up in two chases for new stable last month; has too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (200/1 -3900%) Coltor |
200/1(-3900%) | (1) Coltor 200/1, Useful hurdler who was pulled up at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival on final outing in this sphere. Mixed bag back on the Flat later that year and now returns to hurdles for a new stable after 9 months off. Has had a breathing operation since last seen. Showed some useful Flat form in 2023; back hurdling for new stable, after nine-month break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (400/1 -7900%) Norton Hill |
400/1(-7900%) | (8) Norton Hill 400/1, Bumper winner for Jack Barber who has been steadily progressive over hurdles for Anthony Honeyball, winning pair of 25.5f handicaps at Hereford at the end of 2023. However, was let down by his jumping at Fontwell last time. Visor on for 1st time. Shade disappointing on good to soft last month but progressive on good ground beforehand. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (250/1 -4067%) Brief Times |
250/1(-4067%) | (3) Brief Times 250/1, Useful handicap chaser who won back-to-back handicaps last summer. Ran no sort of race at Cheltenham on final outing and now reverts to hurdles after 7 months off. Dual chase winner last summer; reverts to hurdling after 229-day absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (450/1 -6329%) Judicial Law |
450/1(-6329%) | (4) Judicial Law 450/1, C&D winner who is operating below his best at present, bad mistake early on penultimate start and outpaced around sharp track on latest. Big chance if returning to something like his best. Scored off today's mark in September but has not been firing on all cylinders this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Having showed a bit more verve in a first-time tongue-tie when third at Warwick last month, LALLYGAG could be ready to strike. Paul Nicholls' charge could unlock some improvement over this stiffer test of stamina and he shades the verdict over stable debutant Coltor. The seven-year-old is used to keeping better company than this and shouldn't be taken lightly, while cheekpieces look just the aid that could eke some improvement out of Peking Rose, who might also feature prominently.
A chance is taken on BUCKO'S BOY, who proved better than ever last season and could get firmly back on track following a break. Mr Yeats returned from a 7-month absence with a creditable effort at Cartmel last month, while Judicial Law is sure to pose a big threat if returning to anywhere near his best.
He was below form on good to soft ground last time but NORTON HILL made good progress on good ground last season and gets the nod.

(10) (150/1 -355%)150/1(-355%) | (10) Ghost Pepper 150/1, Mahler gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam, unraced, closely related to smart chaser (stayed 21f) Fix The Rib and useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Frascati Park. Likely to need time. Out of close relative to smart chaser Fix The Rib; probably best watched on debut. |

1st (9) (4/5 +47%) Vocito |
4/5(+47%) | (9) Vocito 4/5, Fair hurdler. First run since leaving Eoin Doyle when creditable second of 10 in novice hurdle at Perth (16.2f, good to soft, 7/4) 28 days ago. Sets a good standard. Had modest strike-rate in Ireland but gave good account on stable debut; major player here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/1 +10%) Jacobs Acre |
9/1(+10%) | (5) Jacobs Acre 9/1, Fair form in bumpers and showed some aptitude when third in a novice at Wincanton 78 days ago. Place claims. Did not achieve a great deal when third in uncompetitive maiden on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (25/1 +24%) Ebony Warrior |
25/1(+24%) | (2) Ebony Warrior 25/1, Hasn't shown enough in bumpers to make him of serious interest on hurdling debut. Not disgraced in two bumpers last season but improvement required on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/2 -75%) Reach For The Moon |
7/2(-75%) | (6) Reach For The Moon 7/2, Smart but lightly raced on Flat (barely stays 1¼m) for John & Thady Gosden, well held both starts in 2023. Reportedly returned lame when fourth on hurdles debut in February. Given time to recover and he has to be capable of better. Smart on the Flat in 2022; made underwhelming hurdle debut but there were excuses. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (18/1 -29%) Galway Reel |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Galway Reel 18/1, Half-brother to numerous winners and showed more than on debut when second in bumper at Fakenham. Only modest form so far over hurdles, looking more of a handicap project. Second in a bumper in April and launched hurdling career with two fairly encouraging runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (350/1 -600%) Lady Showtime |
350/1(-600%) | (12) Lady Showtime 350/1, Only hinted at ability on her second outing in bumpers and looks more of a long-term project. Did not look straightforward when safely held in two run-of-the-mill bumpers this spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (80/1 -60%) Selectivelistening |
80/1(-60%) | (8) Selectivelistening 80/1, €20,000 3-y-o, Westerner gelding. Dam (h80), maiden hurdler (stayed 2½m), half-sister to fairly useful 19f hurdle winner Limestone Rock. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (450/1 -800%) Dark Soldier |
450/1(-800%) | (1) Dark Soldier 450/1, €60,000 3-y-o, £2,000 5-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Dam, lightly raced in points, half-sister to fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Lisheen Prince. Maiden Irish pointer, sixth last time (Apr 28). Placed in only one of his six Irish points; probably best watched on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (150/1 -355%) Rocky's Glory |
150/1(-355%) | (7) Rocky's Glory 150/1, Hasn't shown enough in a bumper/novice hurdle in Ireland to make him of any interest for his new yard. Well beaten in a bumper and three maiden hurdles in Ireland in Ireland last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (400/1 -700%) Dorset Lady |
400/1(-700%) | (11) Dorset Lady 400/1, Modest bumper performer in Ireland who made the frame once from 3 starts in maidens on the Flat. Yet to fire over hurdles for this yard, however. Pulled up when 50-1 for hurdling debut at Market Rasen on Friday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
VOCITO made a highly encouraging start for the Olly Murphy stable when only being denied by a length into second at Perth last month. He sets the standard with a rating of 106 and the six-year-old may only need to reproduce that effort in order to go one place better, with his main threat possibly being Reach For The Moon, who was a Group 3 winner on the Flat and can be given another chance after finishing a well-beaten fourth at Sedgefield on hurdling bow, as he was reported to be lame after that particular contest. Jacobs Acre completes the shortlist.
REACH FOR THE MOON was talented on the Flat and had excuses when only fourth on hurdling debut at Sedgefield so, 4 months on, he's worth a chance to open his account in this sphere at the possible expense of Vocito, who sets the standard.
This can go to VOCITO, who ran well in defeat on last month's stable debut and sets a fair standard.

8th (4) (300/1 -1775%) Baikal |
300/1(-1775%) | (4) Baikal 300/1, Won a maiden and handicap over 2m in the first half of last season but has run poorly on Flat and over hurdles more recently. Won off this mark at Southwell last September but well beaten on return at Fontwell.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (25/1 -56%) Shuil Donn |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Shuil Donn 25/1, Won on yard debut at Southwell in September but was found to be lame at Market Rasen last time and reappears from 8-month absence on a stiff mark. Tongue strap on first time. Won at Southwell on stable/handicap debut last September; finished lame last time.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CUSANO improved from first to second start over hurdles when a highly encouraging runner-up at Huntingdon last month and a mark of 98 on handicap debut looks manageable representing in-form connections. Only worn down late in the piece when second at Southwell last time, Ascension Day can give him most to think about, while Jack The Savage has strong claims on his penultimate second at Hereford. Garitsa Bay and The Sad Shepherd cannot be ruled out either.
ASCENSION DAY pulled clear of the rest when runner-up on handicap debut at Southwell last month and can get off the mark here. Cawthorne Cracker and Cusano are feared most.
The one with scope is CUSANO (nap) now in his first handicap. The consistent Ascension Day may well get second.

1st (7) (7/2 +30%) Giulietta |
7/2(+30%) | (7) Giulietta 7/2, From a family that her yard know well and she's placed on all 4 of her completed starts in handicaps, albeit making no impression on the winner when second at Southwell (20.4f) last month. Yard in good form so she could be thereabouts once more. No match for wide-margin last time but earlier placed form makes her of strong interest. |

2nd (8) (450/1 -5525%) Mays Hill |
450/1(-5525%) | (8) Mays Hill 450/1, Winner of a Fontwell bumper but yet to really threaten from 4 starts over hurdles, albeit she wasn't disgraced when fifth of 9 on handicap bow at Market Rasen (20.6f) 3 weeks ago. Remains early days so she could fare better with her reappearance run behind her. Just a respectable fifth on last month's handicap debut, but that came after a long layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (450/1 -12757%) Asa |
450/1(-12757%) | (9) Asa 450/1, Well backed and duly ran better than for a while with positive tactics adopted for the first time for current connections when narrowly denied at Market Rasen (20.6f) 3 weeks ago. That form has worked out well and she could be ready to go one better. 0-13 over but lost out only narrowly to a next-time-out winner last month. |

4th (2) (350/1 -4900%) Goodtimecrew |
350/1(-4900%) | (2) Goodtimecrew 350/1, Fair bumper winner who ran to a similar level when finding only one too good first 2 starts in maiden hurdles in November. Promise when third at Stratford (19.4f) on her handicap/chasing debut 25 days ago and she's one to consider back hurdling with cheekpieces added. Placed on chase/handicap debut despite not jumping well; back hurdling today. |

5th (6) (400/1 -7900%) Dancingontheedge |
400/1(-7900%) | (6) Dancingontheedge 400/1, Shaped well in first-time tongue strap when narrowly denied at Uttoxeter (23.3f) last May, but didn't manage to build on that when fourth of 8 at the same C&D the following month. Has had a wind op since ahead of her return and she's respected for her leading yard. 0-10 over hurdles and absent for one year but resumes on good mark and after wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (350/1 -600%) Boudica Warrior |
350/1(-600%) | (11) Boudica Warrior 350/1, Fair maiden at best on the Flat but little form over hurdles for her current trainer, finishing well beaten when last of 6 at Warwick (16f) a fortnight ago. Looks to be up against it from out of the handicap. Has struggled to get competitive off lowly marks since the autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (450/1 -8900%) Janworth |
450/1(-8900%) | (5) Janworth 450/1, Didn't show much in her qualifying runs over hurdles, but took a step forward on her handicap debut when second at Fontwell (19.1f) in May. The winner from last time has gone on to score twice since, so she could have more to offer upped further in trip. Chased home very progressive rival on last month's handicap debut; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (300/1 -1775%) Mountain Lake |
300/1(-1775%) | (3) Mountain Lake 300/1, Fair maiden at her best on the Flat for Saeed bin Suroor. Built on her hurdling debut promise when fourth in a Market Rasen maiden (16.6f) in March, but ran no sort of race when pulled at Fakenham (20f) last month. Bounce back called for as she goes handicapping. Made the frame on first two hurdling starts but Fakenham last month was disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (300/1 -3650%) Mary |
300/1(-3650%) | (1) Mary 300/1, Shaped better than in previous handicap outings when seventh of 16 at Cheltenham (20.2f) in April. Failed to repeat that effort at Kelso (16.2f) last time, though raced prominently in a well-run race, so she's not discounted as she drops in grade. Safely held in all four handicaps since Listed third in December but eased in grade today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (350/1 -3789%) Chooch |
350/1(-3789%) | (4) Chooch 350/1, Showed more than in bumpers when fourth at Huntingdon (20.7f) on her hurdles debut in March. Below that level next 2 starts, but was unsuited by the slow pace when last of 3 at Bangor (19.6f) on her handicap bow 16 days ago. Could yet do better. Last of three in tactical race on handicap debut; needs to up her game here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (400/1 -700%) Conna Sue |
400/1(-700%) | (10) Conna Sue 400/1, Little impact over hurdles in Ireland and hasn't fared any better in 2 starts for her current yard, tried in cheekpieces when well held on her chase debut at Bangor (24f) in April last year. Best watched back hurdling after 13 months off. Well beaten on first two starts for current stable; returns from 418-day absence here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A highly creditable second when making her handicap debut at Fontwell last month behind a progressive mare who has won twice since, JANWORTH is entitled to improve for going up in trip and this looks like a golden opportunity in an average contest. She may not be the most consistent, but Dancingontheedge is well capable on her day and she is a key player, along with the more reliable Giulietta, who has been placed on each of her last three starts.
Having dropped a long way in the weights, ASA returned to form when beaten only by an improver at Market Rasen last time, so she is taken to build on that effort and get her head in front. The main danger could be Dancingontheedge, who is capable of getting involved from her current mark, with Giulietta also in the mix.
Harry Fry's GOODTIMECREW was placed on her chasing debut, despite not jumping well, and may fare better now back over hurdles.
Ths is the racecard key.
