16:05 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PORT NOIR has held her form well since winning brace of races here (one over this trip) in October and, off just 3lb higher than for the most recent of those successes, Robert Stephens' consistent mare has a leading chance of adding to her tally. Balqaa is closely matched with the selection based on their encounter here last month, when finishing a place behind her in fourth, and rates a serious threat with a 1lb pull at the weights. Lhebayeb and Sassy Glory also command respect.

LHEBAYEB was a touch unfortunate not to score last time and, from a lenient mark, she's worth a chance to gain compensation for all that Port Noir represents a stern rival. Balqaa also merits consideration in an open-looking event.

This could go the way of multiple course winner PORT NOIR who is taken to gain another deserved win after a series of good efforts here.

16:40 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A C&D winner 19 days ago, Georginio rates a key player off just 3lb higher. However, he takes a step in class and may be vulnerable to one of the less exposed contenders. MAGNA GEE GEE fits that profile and starts handicapping from a workable mark, after showing some improvement on the last of his three qualifying runs over 7f at Southwell. A half-brother to a winner over this trip, stepping back up in distance could be highly beneficial. Ruling Master is the pick of the remainder.

GEORGINIO showed a good attitude when opening his account over C&D last time and should be able to lead once more, so he's the tentative choice ahead of Nidaami. Ruling Master also arrives on the back of a solid showing and there are a few nursery debutants with the potential to do better.

It could be worth siding with George Boughey's MADE THE CUT to build on previous promise and take a step forward now handcapping.

17:15 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STAR OF LIGHT, a daughter of Frankel out of Irish Oaks and Champion Fillies and Mares Stakes winner Star Catcher, is impossible to ignore on pedigree and could have been found an ideal starting point to start her career in a victorious manner. Coma Cluster appeals most from those with experience and is notable on her debut for a new yard, although Safe Idea was a respectable third over the extended mile here on her debut and is another likely improver.

STAR OF LIGHT is bred to be good and gets the vote to make a winning start to her career, with confidence increased should the betting vibes be strong. Safe Idea and Lesson of Life displayed promise on debut and can give the selection most to think about.

If STAR OF LIGHT has the ability to match her illustrious pedigree she will be hard to beat. Lesson Of Life should also run well.

17:45 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 3) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BYZANTINE EMPRESS looks the way to go. The three-year-old finished a close-up third over 6f at this venue at the start of the month and goes off an unchanged rating. Her sole career victory so far came over this distance at Haydock in August, so the step back up in trip should suit. Take A Pull and Triumph Of Peace complete the shortlist.

A promising third on stable debut 19 days ago, BYZANTINE EMPRESS gave the impression that she'd soon be winning races for new connections. She will likely face some stiff competition, not least from the consistent Enola Grey who would aid her chance by breaking on terms. Of the others, Staincliff is interesting upped to seven furlongs for the first time.

She's more exposed than most but POWDERING looked ready to strike here last time and can reverse placings with Byzantine Empress.

18:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Alfheim was victorious over 1m4f at this track on her most recent start and she holds an obvious chance off a 3lb higher rating. However, she needs to prove herself over this longer distance, which might open the door for DARK MYSTERY. The five-year-old has made the frame over this trip in two of his last three starts and has now slipped to a workable mark. Kojin is another to watch out for.

The vote goes to DARK MYSTERY, who failed to fire last time but he will have every chance if reproducing the form of his solid placed efforts at Southwell in October. Alfheim is an obvious threat on the back of her recent breakthrough success and is feared most ahead of Trackman. Cases can also be made for Grand Duchess Olga and Black Smoke.

This looks a very good opportunity for George Boughey's ALFHEIM (nap) to continue his excellent start for the yard.

18:45 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WHATS IN THE BAG was denied by just under a length when second in this grade at Lingfield last time and the handicapper might have been kind to leave his mark alone for that performance. If the son of Dark Angel can reproduce that level of form, then he could prove tough to beat. The in-form Havana Sky is an obvious danger, with the veteran Muscika also worth a second look.

HAVANA SKY is on a roll and a 2 lb nudge for last weekend's successs at Southwell probably underestimates him. The Ed Dunlop-trained 3-y-o may well have more to offer and he is preferred to the consistent Whats In The Bag and Muscika.

One More Wave can bounce back to form but WHATS IN THE BAG is handicapped to win and ran well at Lingfield last time.

19:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Several of these are old rivals and the margins look tight in terms of handicapping. Last-time-out winners Master Of My Fate, Darlo Pride and Basholo all command respect and warrant close scrutiny. As does the hat-trick seeking Havechatma, despite this being her first start at this venue. However, it would be dangerous to allow AMERICAN FASHION to slip under the radar and, from a rating of just 60, this well-bred filly, who cost 340,000gns as a yearling, could be the surprise package in a wide-open race.

Plenty of these arrive here in good order. AMERICAN FASHION has yet to get her head in front but she appeared to benefit from the addition of a hood (on again here) when runner-up in a Southwell maiden recently (probably would've finished closer to the winner granted a clear run) and she is on an appealing mark back in handicap company. Darlo Pride got the better of Master of My Fate at Newcastle and he is feared most.

Darlo Pride is weighted to confirm Newcastle placings with MASTER OF MY FATE but the unexposed selection has won well since.

19:45 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MY BROTHER MIKE bounced back to form with a C&D win last month and isn't overburdened in his bid to follow up from just 3lb higher. Adace is more reliable than the majority of the rest and is capable of making this a good test, despite having never won from a mark this high before. Storm Asset, Damoiseau and Light Up Our Stars are other contenders to monitor in the betting.

If turned out again quickly following her Chelmsford success on Thursday evening, FOREVER PROUD could be the answer. Adace is in good form and she may be the one to follow the selection home, while Inspiring Speeches and My Brother Mike, who was a C&D winner last month, are others with claims.

Money for Legend Of Leros would alter the complexion of the race but as things stand STORM ASSET is tentatively preferred.

20:15 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

THE SPOTLIGHT KID did just enough to score on his last two starts and, having won from this mark and higher before, going up 3lb for his latest success might not prevent him from rounding out a hat-trick. Overnight Oats is an obvious threat based on his current form and has also won off higher than his current rating. Eccentric and Lupset Flossy Pop are a couple of others who can get competitive on these terms.

OVERNIGHT OATS continues to thrive and can rack up a four-timer having done well to score at Lingfield last time out. Hat-trick seeking The Spotlight Kid appeals as the one to chase home James Owen's 4-y-o, with Eccentric, Lupset Flossy Pop and Harry The Haggle in the picture too.

The Spotlight Kid and OVERNIGHT OATS are thriving and the latter is fancied to make it four on the bounce.
