1st (9) (14/1 +0%) Ever Hopefull |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Ever Hopefull 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Kempton (11f) 59 days ago, hampered around 2f out and not recover. Has since left William Haggas and interesting to see where she figures in the market. Still unexposed but she needs a transformation back in trip for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 +47%) Lia Rose |
4/1(+47%) | (7) Lia Rose 4/1, Winner over C&D in October. Last of 8 in handicap at this course (12.2f, 10/1) 40 days ago, not quicken straight. Step back down in trip could well see her bounce back. Won over C&D in October but was well held here last time and others are more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/4 +25%) More Than A Feelin |
6/4(+25%) | (2) More Than A Feelin 6/4, Thrived in recent months, resuming winning ways at Kempton (1m) and followed up with a bit to spare in 8-runner handicap here (8.6f) 4 weeks ago. Up 4 lb ahead of this and she's on the shortlist. Improver who completed a double here last time; strongly respected in hat-trick bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +61%) Hello Miss Lady |
11/2(+61%) | (5) Hello Miss Lady 11/2, Novice winner at Lingfield (1m) in September. Had excuses on handicap debut at Newbury next time but well back on all-weather when eleventh of 12 in handicap (9/2) at Kempton (1m) 24 days ago. Has struggled in both her handicaps and needs a major turnaround. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +9%) Naomhi |
10/1(+9%) | (4) Naomhi 10/1, Travelled well for a long way in AW bumper on debut and offered something to work on (fair form) in finishing midfield in trio of Flat maidens at up to 12f in recent months. Could be the type to do better now attentions switch to handicaps. Unexposed 4yo but this is competitive on handicap debut and she needs improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -100%) Bernadine |
28/1(-100%) | (8) Bernadine 28/1, Latest win at Newcastle (1m) in October. First run since leaving James Fanshawe when seventh of 9 in handicap at Kempton (1m) 10 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Made a low-key start for new yard ten days ago and she's untried at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/2 +36%) Thewind Cries Mary |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Thewind Cries Mary 7/2, Lightly-raced winner. 8/1 and blinkered for 1st time, good fifth of 10 in handicap at Haydock (8.2f, good to firm) in August, keeping on. Absent since but this longer trip could help. Returns after a break but she's still unexposed and could find more at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (200/1 -300%) Silk Bird |
200/1(-300%) | (6) Silk Bird 200/1, Much improved equipped with cheekpieces when landing 10-runner Pontefract handicap (1m) in Summer 2023. Well below best at Southwell a month later (final start for Jedd O'Keeffe) and lengthy absence to overcome now starting out for new yard. Inconsistent 4yo who was disappointing latest and comes with risks attached for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SILVER NIGHTFALL has been highly consistent of late and from just 4lb higher than for her 1m3f success at Kempton 10 days ago, she offers strong appeal, with the drop in trip not expected to be an issue given she won over a mile at Chelmsford three starts back. The hat-trick seeking More Than A Feelin is another must for consideration after her win over the extended mile here last month. Bernadine and Thewind Cries Mary are others to bear in mind.
MORE THAN A FEELIN made it 3 wins from her last 4 starts on synthetics with a bit to spare over shorter here 4 weeks ago and, unexposed at this sort of trip, she looks to hold sound claims again. Silver Nightfall is another filly in flying form and she's another high on the shortlist. Thewind Cries Mary and Naomhi complete the shortlist.
The two that standout are More Than A Feelin and SILVER NIGHTFALL, with slight preference for the latter.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (18/1 +18%) Yes Honey |
18/1(+18%) | (6) Yes Honey 18/1, Foaled March 8. €23,000 yearling, Waldgeist filly. Half-sister to 7f winner Spilt Passion. Dam 2-y-o 5f/6f winner. Market can guide on racecourse bow. 23,000euros half-sister to a 7f AW winner; market should guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (28/1 +0%) Time After Time |
28/1(+0%) | (12) Time After Time 28/1, Foaled February 28. Time Test filly. Dam 1m winner. Likely best watched on debut unless market vibes proved positive. Has fair target to aim at on debut and is best watched unless market suggests otherwise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-50%) | (1) Bear Baby 150/1, Foaled March 19. Muhaarar filly. 33/1, showed only greenness when last of 13 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut 59 days ago. Hood now reached for up in trip. Finished a tailed-off last on Kempton debut (7f) in October; hood is now added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SPIRIT OF JURA showed improvement from her debut run with a close second to a previous winner over C&D last month and looks worth chancing in her bid to go one better. Pave The Way sets just an average standard with an official rating of 73, but still needs considering. Princess Pw, Queen Himiko and Scarlet Sunset have also shown enough promise to merit betting checks.
PAVE THE WAVE shaped better than the bare result having been bumped at a crucial stage when fourth in a Southwell maiden 6 weeks ago and, remaining with potential, she gets the nod to come out on top now tackling this longer trip. Spirit of Jura and Princess Pw are others to consider.
Several have possibilities but the vote goes to PAVE THE WAY, who has the best form and looks open to more progress at this new trip.

33/1(+67%) | (1) Dovey Moon 33/1, Little show in novice/maiden events. Low-grade handicaps likely to be more his thing. Has weak claims on form and isn't crying out for drop to 5f. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TROUBLE MAN showed good speed but possibly did a shade too much early on when he was just run out of things over 6f at Southwell on his racecourse debut. However, he may be a different proposition with that experience to draw upon now he is tried over the minimum trip. Several others also have scope to improve and the likes of Sundiata Keita, Miss Funky Monk and Sandscreendeliverd need to be monitored in the betting.
TROUBLE MAN went close to making a winning debut at Southwell and this looks a good chance for him to go one better. Stablemates Em Four and Sandscreendelivered offered something to work on starting out so are feared most.
The percentage call goes to TROUBLE MAN, ahead of Miss Funky Monk in a fairly open novice event.

10/1(-43%) | (1) Cairn Gorm 10/1, Won off this mark at York in summer last year. Off 14 months. First run for yard after leaving Kevin Philippart De Foy. Not taken lightly for new yard. Fitness to prove but mark is lenient; new yard does well with recruits from other stables. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (3/1 +40%) Dashing Harry |
3/1(+40%) | (3) Dashing Harry 3/1, Latest win at Southwell in November. Not seen to best effect when seventh of 9 in handicap (9/2) at this course (5.1f) 5 days ago. Can make presence felt. Improved when scoring at Southwell and had an excuse next time; may well get back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 -40%) Giorgio M |
7/1(-40%) | (7) Giorgio M 7/1, Unreliable sort. Course winner. Good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (10/1) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Fourth over C&D last two outings; well drawn and on a handy mark if getting away on terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (12/1 +52%) Conquest Of Power |
12/1(+52%) | (12) Conquest Of Power 12/1, 3 wins from 19 runs this year. Bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap (9/1) at Newcastle (6f) 11 days ago. Hood on 1st time, tongue strap back on. Out of sorts since wind op in summer; needs new combination of equipment to spark revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (125/1 -89%) Shahbaz |
125/1(-89%) | (5) Shahbaz 125/1, 80/1, first run since leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 32 days ago, slowly away. Down in trip. Well held on debut for new yard and now drops to sprint distances; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (25/1 -25%) Arlecchino's Gift |
25/1(-25%) | (11) Arlecchino's Gift 25/1, 4-time C&D winner. 4 wins from 17 runs this year. Eighth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 20/1) 26 days ago. Poor Southwell run last time but may bounce back at his favourite venue. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
There have been more promising signs of late from GIORGIO M, who finished fourth over C&D earlier this month. George Boughey's gelding would have been closer were it not for being denied a clear run approaching the furlong pole and he is drawn to produce a similar level of performance. The unexposed Mahato wasn't disgraced over 7f at Newcastle and could find more for the addition of a first-time tongue-tie. Others to note include Dashing Harry and Evocative Spark.
It could be worth chancing CAIRN GORM, who's on a potentially good mark starting out for a shrewd yard back from an absence. Dashing Harry and Lady Dreamer both shaped better than the bare result last time and they head the dangers.
The answer to a tight handicap could be the lightly raced MAHATO who shaped better than the bare result at Newcastle three weeks ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
There has been no stopping LADY WINGALONG of late, with David Evans' mare on target at Lingfield before recording a C&D victory earlier this month. A further 2lb rise in the weights should be no barrier to success and she is taken to complete the hat-trick. Havana Force (fourth) was only a length behind her here and is of definite interest, while connections will be hopeful the addition of first-time cheekpieces can eke out improvement from Disclosure.
LADY WINGALONG arrives at the top of her game and can complete the hat-trick. Havana Force got closer to the selection when fourth over C&D 12 days ago and may emerge as the biggest threat ahead of Heavenly Fire.
This can go to the progressive 5yo LADY WINGALONG, who knuckled down well when completing a double over C&D 12 days ago.

Resumes for new yard on the same mark and it'll be interesting to see how he shapes up in the market. Absent since scoring off this mark in July 2022 for Harry Fry; market useful. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 0%) Eagle's Realm |
8/1(0%) | (2) Eagle's Realm 8/1, Course winner. 18/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at this course (14f) 21 days ago, slowly away. Place possibilities. Four wins last autumn/winter; respectable third at this course most recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (17/2 +6%) Sir Joseph Swan |
17/2(+6%) | (11) Sir Joseph Swan 17/2, Latest win at Southwell in November. 7/2, creditable third of 8 in handicap at that course (16.5f) 23 days ago. Evidently in good nick and should give another good account. Record of 32213 since returned to 2m; ties in with Albert Lasker on latest effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (6/1 +50%) Sophosc |
6/1(+50%) | (10) Sophosc 6/1, Course winner. Third of 11 in handicap (9/2) at this course (12.2f) 12 days ago. Significantly up in trip and this 8-y-o is not without each-way hope. Solid third over 1m4f here last time; remains on a workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (25/1 -108%) Liberated Lad |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Liberated Lad 25/1, Course winner. 4 wins from 11 runs this year. Creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 16/1) 10 days ago, needing stronger gallop. This step back up in trip looks a good move and he's not discounted. Has something to prove back at 2m (all wins over shorter). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (5/1 +44%) Albert Lasker |
5/1(+44%) | (12) Albert Lasker 5/1, Good second of 8 in handicap (9/1) at Southwell (16.5f) 23 days ago. Nudged up 1 lb for that, which is fair enough, and he's unlikely to be far away. Maiden who is knocking at the door; went close upped to 2m at Southwell last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (9/1 -13%) Kissininthebackrow |
9/1(-13%) | (8) Kissininthebackrow 9/1, 15/2, fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at Wincanton (15.2f, good to soft) 23 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Successful on latest start in this sphere and she remains on a workable mark. Record of 2-3 over 2m on Flat includes a Kempton win in October; still of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (14/1 +0%) Zivaniya |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Zivaniya 14/1, Three wins from 10 runs this year, the latest at Newcastle in August. Creditable third of 6 in handicap there (16.2f, 9/1) 57 days ago. Others make more appeal for win purposes on this occasion. Has lacked consistency since last win; not sure to back up latest effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (33/1 +50%) Regally Blonde |
33/1(+50%) | (1) Regally Blonde 33/1, 5/1, fourth of 5 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell (19.1f, good) 27 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this tapeta debut and sports first-time blinkers. Failed to fire on latest start in this sphere. Weak claims on 2024 form (Flat/jumps); new headgear needs to help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The form of DAARIS' recent course success has worked out well and although he hasn't been the easiest to win with, this is an excellent opportunity from just 2lb higher. Doublethetrouble came up just short in his hat-trick bid at Kempton and he merits the utmost respect raised a further 3lb in the ratings. Dance Time and Sir Joseph Swan are just two more to consider.
An absence of well over 2 years is naturally a concern but SON OF RED remains of strong interest given his low-mileage and progressive profile in this sphere. It goes without saying that confidence levels will be elevated if there's support for this 7-y-o in the ring. Liberated Lad shaped as though well worth another crack at this trip when fifth at Kempton recently and he is feared most. Last-time-out winner Daaris is also shortlisted, along with Dance Time.
Back over 2m, DANCE TIME could well reverse last-time placings with the more exposed Daaris who commands respect all the same.

1st (1) (7/1 +22%) Swatch |
7/1(+22%) | (1) Swatch 7/1, Thirteenth of 14 in handicap (8/1) at Newmarket (9f, good to soft) 43 days ago, faltering. In good form prior to that and he merits consideration. Beat only one home at Newmarket last time; unplaced only previous run on Tapeta. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (2/1 +11%) Book Of Life |
2/1(+11%) | (3) Book Of Life 2/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 11 in handicap at this C&D (11/4) 21 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Threatening another win, close second last time; ready to strike and looks the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (50/1 -52%) Under Fox |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Under Fox 50/1, 15/2, last of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm). Off 18 months and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Has not made frame for this yard; probably best watched after layoff despite plunging mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (18/1 +10%) King Of York |
18/1(+10%) | (7) King Of York 18/1, Below form sixth of 10 in handicap (9/2) at Southwell (8.1f) 37 days ago, merely closing up late. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Both wins at Southwell (0-18 elsewhere); down the field latest outing; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (12/1 -140%) Tenyatta |
12/1(-140%) | (11) Tenyatta 12/1, Course winner. Good second of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 16/1) 26 days ago, suited by strong pace. Back up in trip and she should make her presence felt. Returned to form when second at Southwell; obvious chance with yard still going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (10/3 +33%) City Cyclone |
10/3(+33%) | (4) City Cyclone 10/3, Course winner. Creditable second of 11 in handicap (11/2) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 25 days ago. Back up in trip and he has to enter calculations. Added to good run of form with close second at Lingfield; should be in the thick of things. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (14/1 +30%) Mykonos St John |
14/1(+30%) | (6) Mykonos St John 14/1, Three-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year, the latest in October. Creditable sixth of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Lingfield (10f, AW) 23 days ago. Others make more appeal for win purposes. Latest win came over C&D in October; not disgraced last time; has each-way possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (12/1 -9%) We'renotreallyhere |
12/1(-9%) | (8) We'renotreallyhere 12/1, Latest win at Lingfield in August. 9/1, creditable third of 12 in handicap at this C&D 56 days ago. Visor on 1st time and possibilities provided he responds well to the new headgear. Close third here in October and should be thereabouts again off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (125/1 -150%) Anticipating |
125/1(-150%) | (10) Anticipating 125/1, 80/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (11f) when last seen 10 months ago. Down in trip and sizeable step forward needed. Unplaced all eight starts; not an obvious candidate after ten months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (13/2 +68%) Jumeira Vision |
13/2(+68%) | (9) Jumeira Vision 13/2, Course winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year. Seventh of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 10/1) 22 days ago. Others preferred. Below par lately but return to Wolverhampton should help; Kaiya Fraser a positive booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (16/1 -129%) Havana Touch |
16/1(-129%) | (2) Havana Touch 16/1, 16/5, eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago. Hood on 1st time and he could easily have a say if the headgear has the desired effect. Ran poorly over C&D three weeks ago, as on his other start at Wolverhampton; risky. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A chance is taken on WE'RENOTREALLYHERE, who was a close-up third behind two subsequent winners (second notched up a double) over C&D latest and could potentially improve for the fitting of a first-time visor. Book Of Life got within a short head of victory over track and trip three weeks ago and he is likely to be in the shake-up again, while City Cyclone and Tenyatta are other names to note.
The three with the most appealing credentials are BOOK OF LIFE, Tenyatta and City Cyclone. They all went close last time out and choosing between them isn't easy but Book of Life, who remains on an attractive mark and is unexposed over 1m+, gets the nod. The filly Tenyatta is marginally preferred to City Cyclone for forecast purposes.
The strongest claims are held by the bang-in-form BOOK OF LIFE (nap) who can finally capitalise on some leniency from the handicapper.

9/4(+36%) | (3) Jersey Rocs 9/4, Built on debut promise in first-time blinkers when winning 10-runner handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 37 days ago. Needs to back that up now. Lost his way; improved for blinkers when 1m winner latest; no good thing to repeat it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/2 -150%) Outrace |
15/2(-150%) | (1) Outrace 15/2, Bounced back to form in first-time cheekpieces to capitalise on a career-low mark in 9-runner handicap over C&D 21 days ago, comfortably. Hit with 6 lb rise but remains fairly treated on old form. Good winner over C&D three weeks ago; back up 6lb but still well treated on past form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/4 +36%) Retraction |
9/4(+36%) | (6) Retraction 9/4, Good third of 11 in handicap (12/1) at this C&D 21 days ago, not ideally placed. Not taken lightly. Maiden; finished close up from difficult draws on last two starts; involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 +10%) Light Up Our Stars |
18/1(+10%) | (5) Light Up Our Stars 18/1, C&D winner. 25/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at this C&D 29 days ago. Three course wins; has gone quiet since latest success in July; something to prove for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (28/1 -40%) True Nation |
28/1(-40%) | (11) True Nation 28/1, Latest win at Musselburgh in October. Eighth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at Newcastle (8f) 39 days ago, doing too much too soon. Two 1m wins on turf this year; 0-6 on AW, including off lowly marks; up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (17/2 +58%) Bloodhound |
17/2(+58%) | (8) Bloodhound 17/2, Fair maiden. 33/1, last of 14 in handicap at Redcar (10f, soft) 57 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Adrian Wintle. Bits of form but heavy defeats on last 2 turf runs and now goes for a new trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (14/1 -100%) Prince Ali |
14/1(-100%) | (2) Prince Ali 14/1, Took advantage of a career-low mark on first run since leaving Deborah Faulkner in 11-runner handicap at this C&D (16/1) 82 days ago. 4 lb rise fair. Produced late to win over C&D in September; current mark within reach; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 +29%) Big Narstie |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Big Narstie 10/1, Quirky sort who made more impact when fourth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 20/1) 5 days ago. Not certain to be in same form, however. Course winner; won twice on Tapeta elsewhere in March but treading water since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (11/1 -22%) Good Karma |
11/1(-22%) | (4) Good Karma 11/1, Course winner. 9/4 and blinkered for 1st time, ninth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 26 days ago, slowly away. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving James Owen. Won 7f maiden here in 2022; had a disappointing year and now with another new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A number of in-form players make for a competitive heat, but JERSEY ROCS should have more to offer after the fitting of first-time blinkers enabled a breakthrough victory at Southwell last month. Outrace appeared to benefit from the application of cheekpieces when scoring comfortably over C&D three weeks ago and having a 7lb apprentice aboard should be a big help to him. Richard Hannon's colt is feared most, while Prince Ali and Retraction add further spice.
RETRACTION ran well over C&D 3 weeks ago, and has to be taken seriouly. Outrace and Prince Ali are feared most.
Outrace has to be feared but RETRACTION is definitely due a change of luck and is preferred.

2nd (5) (3/1 +79%) Nelson Gay |
3/1(+79%) | (5) Nelson Gay 3/1, C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Tenth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 12/1) 11 days ago. Blinkers back on. Well handicapped but proving disappointing; hopes rest on a return to Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 -31%) Recon Mission |
17/2(-31%) | (3) Recon Mission 17/2, Twenty seven runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 12/1) 23 days ago. Good chance of going one better if turning up in similar form. On a losing run stretching back to July 2022 but he's knocking at the door; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (11/1 +8%) Lion Ring |
11/1(+8%) | (10) Lion Ring 11/1, 4 wins from 17 runs this year, latest at Chelmsford City in October. 6/1, failed to build on promise of last run when fifth of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 9 days ago. Four wins this autumn, all when ridden up with the pace; might have gone off the boil. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (16/1 -33%) Papa Don't Preach |
16/1(-33%) | (6) Papa Don't Preach 16/1, C&D winner who had excuses when fifth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 12/1) 37 days ago, left poorly placed. Blinkers back on. Not taken lightly. Far from disgraced last time considering he blew the start; makes the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 -110%) Beauzon |
7/1(-110%) | (7) Beauzon 7/1, Recorded a seventh course success in 11-runner handicap (6.1f) 26 days ago, doing well under the circumstances. Cheekpieces back on and retains plenty of scope on old form. Two 6f wins on this course this autumn; bang in form and might be the answer.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (25/1 -79%) So Obsessed |
25/1(-79%) | (4) So Obsessed 25/1, C&D winner who probably needed the run after 4 months off when eighth of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 23 days ago. Entitled to strip fitter here. C&D winner in first half of year; well held last time but might have needed run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (11/1 -10%) Gustav Graves |
11/1(-10%) | (8) Gustav Graves 11/1, 4-time C&D winner who is operating below his best at present, finishing only eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 16/1) 37 days ago. Four C&D wins last winter; not at best of late but dangerous if reviving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (6/1 +20%) Pop Dancer |
6/1(+20%) | (2) Pop Dancer 6/1, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2023 and ran below form when seventh of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 23 days ago, trapped wide. Hasn't won for over a year; something to find with stablemate Recon Mission on latest run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (7/1 +7%) Agostino |
7/1(+7%) | (1) Agostino 7/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in October and shaped as if still in good form when sixth of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 4/1) 23 days ago. Can give another good account. Arrives in decent form; impossible to rule out despite the outside stall. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BEAUZON has been in cracking form over 6f at this venue recently, winning twice and beaten three-parts of a length into third on the other occasion, and dropping back in trip is unlikely to be an issue. A 3lb rise for his latest neck victory is fair and he looks sure to mount a bold bid. Recon Mission had a number of these behind when a neck second at Lingfield last month and he has a definite chance off just 1lb higher. Classy Clarets may improve for the application of a first-time hood.
BEAUZON did well to come out on top having always been up with a strong pace at this course last month and remains well treated on old form following a token rise in the weights, so he's the percentage call to follow up. Recon Mission and Agostino head the dangers.
Top billing goes to the revitalised BEAUZON who arrives on a roll and can take the drop back in trip in his stride.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
