16:23 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Pride Of Nepal came up short in his hat-trick bid at Newmarket recently, but he remains in good form and must feature prominently in calculations. However, the vote goes to VISIBILITY. Scott Dixon's charge shaped as if ready for a return to further when finishing third over the extended mile here a week ago and the five-time course winner can capitalise on a workable mark. Bass Player is another to consider.

PRIDE OF NEPAL failed to complete the hat-trick at Newmarket last time but it was still a creditable effort and this isn't as strong a race, so he's preferrred to Yeoman. Visibility's course record makes him worthy of respect despite his lack of consistency.

A handful to consider and perhaps this is the race in which PRIDE OF NEPAL will break his AW duck.

16:55 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Son Of Wind was raised 11lb for August's Chelmsford triumph, but his two subsequent performances are evidence that he can compete from his current figure. The son of Kessaar may find one too strong again, though, and it is SPIRITUALISM who is preferred. Amy Murphy's filly weakened late on over 6f at Lingfield so a drop to the minimum trip should aid her cause, while a mark of 70 looks well within range. Tongue-tied ahead of her nursery debut, Mirage Mistress warrants a market check.

SON OF WIND looks the one to be with after his C&D second a month ago. Over Spiced8 is respected on handicap debut, as is Invincible Crown given a first go on tapeta.

Judged on his sole AW effort, INVINCIBLE CROWN is very attractively handicapped off a mark of 71. Son Of Wind is second choice.

17:30 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Third in a decent novice event at Salisbury on debut before finishing fourth in a valuable sales race at the Curragh last month, SKY ADVOCATE sets a good standard and will be difficult to beat if negotiating his wide draw. That said, Play Me and Noble Phoenix have shown more than enough to suggest they will be involved and both must be taken seriously. Market support for Oasis Dream colt Riyadh Gem would be noteworthy.

SKY ADVOCATE produced a big effort to finish fourth in a big-field sales race at The Curragh last time and, in these calmer waters, he has an excellent chance of opening his account for all that Riyadh Gem and Initial Blue are notable newcomers.

The clear form pick is Sky Advocate. Most of the newcomers are interesting, particularly SEA BAAEED.

18:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having scored a shade cosily on her racecourse debut at Beverley in August, BASSADANZA may be able to defy a 7lb penalty. A switch to Tapeta should hold no fears for Charlie Johnston's filly and she edges the vote over Blue Secret. The daughter of Blue Point will have learned plenty from her opening bid when fourth at Newbury and she isn't taken lightly. Newcomers Victoria Harbour and Bella D'oro warrant a check in the betting.

BLUE SECRET shaped quite well on debut and there should be more to come, so he takes preference over Bassadanza, who shoulders a penalty for her debut success at Beverley. Victoria Harbour is one to be interested in first time out.

If the market likes newcomer VICTORIA HARBOUR, this royally bred filly could be the way to go.

18:30 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The penalised Suite Francaise merits respect after her game triumph on her introduction at Newcastle. The Study Of Man filly is likely to be on the premises once more, but all-weather newcomer BEAUTY BY MY SIDE makes slightly more appeal. Kevin Philippart De Foy's juvenile appeared to find softer ground conditions too testing when ninth at Ascot and a reproduction of her fourth-placed debut at Yarmouth may suffice. Take A Breath and Cooramook are also worth a second look.

Preference is for MOTABAAH, who didn't get the breaks at Kempton last time and remains with potential. Take A Breath and Suite Francaise are feared most.

Suite Francaise has already proved herself on Tapeta but TAKE A BREATH can step forward from a promising Salisbury debut.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The progressive Shamardia is likely to make another bold fist of things after getting up to win in the closing stages over 6f here last week. However, a 6lb penalty and unproven stamina may leave her vulnerable. With that in mind, dual C&D winner BOSSY PARKER could be worth chancing, with Stella Barclay's gelding offering more encouragement when fifth over a furlong shorter here a fortnight ago. A Pint Of Bear and Split Elevens also lurk on attractive marks.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap. SAFFREDI is 0-11 but he posted several decent efforts in Irish handicaps for Gavin Cromwell and shaped well starting out for new connections at Bath last month. The return to this trip looks a good move and he could be the answer. Bossy Parker wasn't beaten far here recently and is feared most ahead of recent course winner Shamardia and Stella Hogan.

The 6yo SPLIT ELEVENS has been in great form this year with four wins since July and he can go in again. Shamardia is next best.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Diamond Ranger was successful at Windsor last month, but he was all out to score by a neck and an added 2lb makes his life more difficult. Fearless Bay was an eased-down winner at Southwell in September and an extra 6lb may not stop him going well despite the rise in class, but a chance is taken on HAKU. His five victories have all been on the all-weather, with three of them over C&D and the latest off this mark in February, and Hollie Doyle is a notable booking.

Cases can be made for a few of these, but HAKU should strip fitter for his recent reappearance at Kempton last month so Mark Loughnane's 5-y-o can add another victory to his tally having dropped back to his last winning mark. The main threat may emerge from Fearless Bay, who bounced back to best when scoring at Southwell 11 days ago and a 7 lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Diamond Ranger can fill out third.

Having become a standing dish over 1m4f at Wolverhampton, OPTICIAN is preferred to Fearless Bay and Diamond Ranger.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BLACK SMOKE is the only Wolverhampton winner in the field having scored over C&D in early September. Not disgraced off his new mark when a two-length third back here since, he gets on well with Millie Wonnacott, who takes a useful 5lb off his back. Sophar Sogood stays this trip and further and is one to consider back on the all-weather after disappointing at Chester, although recent course third Advert Rules may be the bigger danger if first-time blinkers bring any improvement.

Having been well backed, SIMIYANN made more impact down in grade when runner-up at Chelmsford last week, so Ian Williams' 4-y-o is fancied to go a place better with the visor reapplied at the expense of Advert Rules, who arrives in form and has a change of headgear on today. Black Smoke can edge out Sophar Sogood for third.

The return to AW is a positive for SOPHAR SOGOOD and he can leave his recent defeat at Chester well behind and come out on top.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Tony Carroll won this in 2022 with Pop Dancer and although his 2023 representative was only fifth, he has better chances with UNDER CURFEW, caught close home here over 7f last month and a potential front-runner. Phoenix Beach was beaten a length and a half into second in this 12 months ago and he races off 3lb lower now, making him a danger to all. Spanish Angel and Basholo have won here seven times between them, with six of those over this trip, so have to be considered too.

SANKARI got off the mark for the year with a bit to spare at Southwell 8 days ago, so he's fancied to go in again under a penalty at the expense of Under Curfew, who wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up here last month and has cheekpieces reapplied for a return to sprinting. Phoenix Beach and the slow-starting Spanish Angel can fight out third.

The fitting of cheekpieces and the return to AW has seen a return to form from SANKARI (nap) and he can follow up his Southwell win.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
