1st (1) ![]() Infantry Officer |
1/4(+38%) | (1) Infantry Officer 1/4, Proved a different proposition upped markedly in trip when making a winning handicap debut at this course (12.2f) 10 days ago, pushed out. Likely to progress further and claims are crystal clear under a penalty. Emphatic win on handicap debut here (1m4f) ten days ago; major player back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Hawkesbury Legend |
11/2(+35%) | (3) Hawkesbury Legend 11/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1, last of 9 in maiden at Kempton (8f) 57 days ago. Has been gelded ahead of handicap debut and should prove suited by the step up in trip. Been gelded and now goes handicapping but he needs a transformation upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Baileys Value |
66/1(-65%) | (6) Baileys Value 66/1, No promise all 4 starts to date. Makes tapeta debut. Has struggled in her four runs including a Kempton handicap; cheekepieces are now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Eva's Eyes |
12/1(0%) | (7) Eva's Eyes 12/1, 18/1 and visored for 1st time, good third of 7 in handicap at this C&D 12 days ago. C 0-11 but was a respectable third over C&D last time and she could be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() About Last Night |
20/1(+9%) | (5) About Last Night 20/1, Well held in maidens/novice event. Visored for handicap debut. Handicap newcomer but she needs plenty of improvement after 132 days off; visor on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Jester Queen |
80/1(-264%) | (2) Jester Queen 80/1, Showed barely modest form in 4 runs for Jamie Osborne. Sold for just 2,000 gns in February. Still early days but she needs to do much better back up in trip; hood removed; new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
INFANTRY OFFICER took a big step forward when winning impressively on his handicap debut over 1m4f here 10 days ago and Michael Bell's gelding is very hard to oppose, despite a 6lb penalty. Perfect Parole could prove to be the main threat following an encouraging effort at Lingfield a few weeks ago. Eva's Eyes is another capable of making the frame.
INFANTRY OFFICER looked well ahead of his mark when making a winning handicap debut here last week and will surely take plenty of stopping under a penalty, especially with further improvement on the cards. Hawkesbury Legend is most interesting of the opposition given he's bred to be much better than this grade and should prove suited by the longer trip.
This can go to INFANTRY OFFICER, who kicked off his handicap career with an emphatic win over 1m4f here ten days ago.

1st (4) ![]() Elterwater |
15/8(-181%) | (4) Elterwater 15/8, Improving filly who made light work of another rise in weights when successful in 11-runner handicap at Chelmsford (10f) 4 weeks ago, well on top finish. Obvious claims from 4 lb higher in hat-trick bid. Improver who has form figures of 12211 since in November; strong contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Beatrice Shilling |
11/2(+54%) | (3) Beatrice Shilling 11/2, Remains a maiden but shaped as if needing the run after 4 months off/starting out for new yard (changed hands for 25,000 gns) when last of 7 in handicap (18/1) at Newcastle (10.2f) 47 days ago. One to note in the betting eased in class. 0-8 but she's on dangerous mark and is one to keep an eye on back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Salamanca City |
5/2(+50%) | (1) Salamanca City 5/2, Knocking on the door prior to opening her account at Leicester (10f) in July and left a lesser effort behind when fourth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (11f) in October having been left with lot to do. Not discounted on return to action. Just one win from ten starts and has some work to do back on AW after an absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Caramay |
3/1(+33%) | (2) Caramay 3/1, Enjoying an excellent AW campaign, resuming winning ways over C&D in January and following up at Southwell (11.1f) later that month. Remained in form without looking the easiest of rides in defeat since but she's likely to be thereabouts again Five wins on AW in September-January; held in last three starts but she's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Celebrating Ethel |
28/1(-75%) | (5) Celebrating Ethel 28/1, One win from 27 Flat runs. 20/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 16 days ago, weakening over 1f. Others preferred back up in class. Sole win was in August 2023 and well held here in last two stats; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ELTERWATER arrives here on the back of two 1m2f victories at Chelmsford last month and a 4lb rise for the most recent of those triumphs may not be enough to stop her from making it a hat-trick. Caramay is only 1lb above her last winning mark and is likely to be in the mix, while any market support for Salamanca City on her return would have to be noted.
ELTERWATER is an improved model on all-weather this winter, continuing her fine form when landing back-to-back Chelmsford handicaps in February. She rates the one to beat again in her bid to complete the hat-trick. Caramay rates next best, ahead of the returning Salamanca City.
It's hard to get away from the progressive ELTERWATER, who has form figures of 12211 since November.

1st (6) ![]() Media Mogul |
85/40(+39%) | (6) Media Mogul 85/40, Lightly-raced 4-y-o who took another step forward when good second of 6 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 23 days ago. Cheekpieces go on for the 1st time and interesting with the prospect of more to come. Unexposed 4yo who had a near-miss in a Newcastle handicap (1m4f) last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() It's A Love Thing |
11/4(-38%) | (4) It's A Love Thing 11/4, Took advantage of much-reduced mark at Newcastle (10.2f) and confirmed he's right back at the top of his game when following up in 8-runner handicap at this course (9.5f) 5 days ago, readily. Needs considering turned out quickly under a penalty. Resurgent 7yo who is well treated under a penalty for his win here last time; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Upepo |
15/2(-88%) | (3) Upepo 15/2, Three wins from 12 runs last year and back on the scoresheet in 9-runner handicap at this C&D 30 days ago, well on top finish. 4 lb rise makes things tougher but respected as an in-form sort. Made it 5-16 on AW when scoring over C&D last month; respected up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Naomhi |
12/1(-50%) | (2) Naomhi 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. 10/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at this course (9.5f), not seen to best effect in a modestly-run affair. Return to this longer trip expected to suit and better showing anticipated under Hollie Doyle. Unexposed 5yo and she's a possible improver back up in trip after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Come On John |
7/2(+30%) | (7) Come On John 7/2, C&D winner. Latest win here in March. 5/4, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f) 6 days ago, staying on. Being kept very busy and likely he can give a good account once more Hold-up performer who has been in good form recently including a C&D win; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Cogital |
80/1(-142%) | (1) Cogital 80/1, Fairly useful handicapper who scored twice during a productive 2023 campaign. However, absent 20 months before coming in last of 11 in handicap at Kempton (12f) in December. This should reveal more. Back from long absence when tailed off at Kempton (1m4f) in December; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It's A Love Thing has to be respected following two wins earlier in the month, but marginal preference is for MEDIA MOGUL. Ed Walker's gelding was only beaten a head into second at Newcastle last time and the first-time application of cheekpieces may bring about further progression. Upepo scored over C&D a month ago and is another with valid form claims.
A few in-form sorts in opposition, including low-mileage 4-y-o MEDIA MOGUL who marked himself down as a sure-fire future winner when finding only a similarly unexposed rival too strong at Newcastle 23 days ago (the pair clear). He gets the nod over the hat-trick seeking It's A Love Thing. Naomhi is another to keep an eye on given his lightly-raced profile.
The vote goes to the resurgent IT'S A LOVE THING (nap) who is well treated under a penalty for his comfortable win here on Saturday.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Coco Hill |
9/1(+36%) | (3) Coco Hill 9/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2022. 14/1, first run since leaving John McConnell when a creditable fifth of 11 in minor event at this C&D 12 days ago. No forlorn hope. Two handicap wins as 2yo; rarely shone since but promising for new in-form yard latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Second Collection |
17/2(-89%) | (9) Second Collection 17/2, Four-time course winner who posted a good second of 10 to My Turn Now in minor event here (5.1f, 7/2) 10 days ago. Enjoys a 5 lb weights pull here so holds leading claims. Two C&D wins but mostly runs over 5f now; creditable 2nd in similar C&D race in February. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) ![]() Ustath |
11/2(+54%) | (12) Ustath 11/2, C&D winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. 14/1, creditable fourth of 11 in minor event at this C&D 12 days ago. Needs considering. Little between him and May Remain on C&D form 12 days ago; B Loughnane up this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() May Remain |
12/1(-85%) | (6) May Remain 12/1, C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2024. 20/1, good second of 11 in minor event at this C&D 12 days ago. In the picture. Two course wins in 2023; harder to place now but lost out only late over C&D 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() My Turn Now |
6/1(+0%) | (1) My Turn Now 6/1, Resumed winning ways in 10-runner minor event (12/1) at this course (5.1f) 10 days ago by length from Second Collection, suited by strong pace. In the mix once more. Won 4 of her last 9 starts, latest over 5f here; good chance back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Sea The Buckthorn |
66/1(-100%) | (8) Sea The Buckthorn 66/1, Course winner but he came in last of 9 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 26 days ago. Something to find on form. Sole win over 7f here last January; out of luck at that trip since; first attempt at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) ![]() Tommytwohoots |
9/1(-50%) | (11) Tommytwohoots 9/1, C&D winner. 11/2, eighth of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (5f) 17 days ago, not ideally placed. Back up in trip. Enters calculations. Wide-margin turf win in October; on the premises at Newcastle this winter; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) ![]() Anglesey Lad |
11/4(+61%) | (2) Anglesey Lad 11/4, 12/1, creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at this course (5.1f) 12 days ago. Not taken lightly in his bid for a maiden victory. Two good turf runs at about 6f last spring; not far away in a better race here latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() The Cola Kid |
11/2(+61%) | (10) The Cola Kid 11/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 22/1, good fourth of 9 in minor event at this course (7.2f) 16 days ago. One for the shortlist. Latest three wins in 2023; retained ability last year but not yet recaptured best in 2025. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) ![]() Gypsy Nation |
11/1(-83%) | (5) Gypsy Nation 11/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Not disgraced when fourth of 7 in minor event at this C&D (20/1) 24 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Others remain more persuasive though. Maiden who's tried various trips; close up over C&D latest; cheekpieces return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
My Turn Now had a length to spare over SECOND COLLECTION when they clashed over 5f here 10 days ago and should go well again. However, the latter is already a dual C&D winner and, armed with a 5lb pull in the weights, she can turn the form around back over this trip. Tommytwohoots and Ustath also have winning form here and are other each-way alternatives to consider.
A case can be made for a few of these but SECOND COLLECTION rates the pick of the weights so is fancied to bag a fifth course win and turn the tables on recent conqueror My Turn Now on these more advantageous terms. Michael Attwater's mare still looks the chief threat, although Tommytwohoots, Anglesey Lad, Ustath and The Cola Kid all enter the reckoning too.
My Turn Now has plenty going for her despite the penalty but perhaps this is the day when things fall right for ANGLESEY LAD.

1st (7) ![]() Nordic Glory |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Nordic Glory 9/2, C&D winner. Latest win here in March. Respectable sixth of 11 to Lion's Dream in minor event at this C&D (2/1) 12 days ago. Enters calculations. C&D win this month before a lesser effort behind Lion's Dream latest; can rebound. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Banana |
28/1(-133%) | (3) Banana 28/1, Long-standing maiden. Only tenth of 11 to Lion's Dream in minor event over C&D (17/2) 12 days ago. Others appeal more. 44-race maiden; effective over C&D but needs to rebound from a poor run 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Savalas |
18/1(+45%) | (10) Savalas 18/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in November. Seventh of 9 in minor event at this C&D (11/1) 24 days ago, left poorly placed. Cheekpieces back on and not discounted. C&D win last November; patchy since but may find this being run to suit his hold-up style. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Balmy Breese |
16/1(-100%) | (2) Balmy Breese 16/1, Remains a maiden after 25 Flat runs. 12/1, creditable ¾-length third of 11 to Lion's Dream in minor event over C&D 12 days ago, not ideally placed. Possibilities. Longstanding maiden but his best runs for this yard have come over C&D; fast pace a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Lion's Dream |
11/2(0%) | (6) Lion's Dream 11/2, Ended a long losing run in 11-runner minor event over C&D 12 days ago. Very much one to consider. Ended losing run of 22 when asserting late in a similar race here 12 days ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Mashaan |
10/11(+24%) | (1) Mashaan 10/11, Fair gelding. Course winner who improved on recent efforts to win 9-runner handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 3 days ago. Sets the benchmark here. Course winner; easy 7f success at Lingfield on Monday; 0-15 at 6f but still a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Posh Maisie |
100/1(-150%) | (8) Posh Maisie 100/1, Seventh of 10 in minor event at this course (5.1f, 150/1) 10 days ago. Chance on old form. Limited encouragement for current stable and she looks vulnerable once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) ![]() We're Reunited |
22/1(+33%) | (11) We're Reunited 22/1, Course winner. Respectable sixth of 10 in minor event at this course (5.1f, 22/1) 10 days ago. It's 20 runs since his last win in 2023 however. Collared late over C&D last November; had an excuse latest; other pace on show here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) ![]() Red Walls |
17/2(+58%) | (9) Red Walls 17/2, Five-time course winner but he came in just eighth of 9 in handicap (16/1) over C&D 3 days ago, doing too much too soon. Still needs to take a step forward. C&D win in January; in and out since and likely to have other pace to deal with today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) ![]() Himawari |
33/1(+0%) | (5) Himawari 33/1, Modest filly. Seventh of 11 in handicap (28/1) at this course (5.1f) 13 days ago. Hood back on with more required. Inconsistent maiden; this is her level but others look more appealing for the win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MASHAAN seems best when racing on the front end and is handily drawn to launch a bold attempt at following up Monday's win over 7f in a handicap at Lingfield. Dropping back down a furlong isn't a major worry for the Alice Haynes-trained seven-year-old, although the likes of Lion's Dream and Nordic Glory are likely types to capitalise if the shorter trip does catch him out.
Alice Haynes' MASHAAN holds a clear edge at these weights so is taken to follow up his recent Lingfield handicap victory at the chief expense of C&D scorer Lion's Dream. Fellow C&D scorers Nordic Glory and Global Effort also need factoring into this competitive classified event.
Mashaan isn't opposed lightly but Lion's Dream and the veteran SAVALAS are plausible alternatives.

17/2(+6%) | (7) Lhebayeb 17/2, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fourth of 11 in classified event over C&D 10 days ago. Fair fourth over C&D latest but he's 0-22 on AW and last turf win was in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Pessoa |
2/1(-45%) | (1) Pessoa 2/1, Five-time course winner, the latest over 7f 9 days ago. Should go well under a 5 lb penalty. Five-time course winner, most recently last week; respected back up in trip under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Port Noir |
5/1(+44%) | (4) Port Noir 5/1, Six-time course winner. Three wins from 29 runs last year. Failed to fire when seventh of 8 over 9.5f here 13 days ago but back on a mark she should be capable of going close from. Six of ten wins have been at this track and she's on a workable mark; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Annalee Lass |
4/1(+33%) | (5) Annalee Lass 4/1, C&D winner last month. Bit below form when fourth of 8 in handicap (13/2) at Newcastle (1m) 26 days ago. Not easy to predict but she won over C&D on penultimate run; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Absolutely Not |
11/1(-83%) | (3) Absolutely Not 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 40/1, seventh of 9 in maiden at Lingfield (1m) 22 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Much less exposed than the rest of these and interesting to see what the betting makes of her. In good hands and still early days but she needs a transformation on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) ![]() Blue Jay Way |
66/1(-230%) | (8) Blue Jay Way 66/1, Poor maiden. Good third at Catterick (6f) in October but well beaten at Redcar the following month. Significantly back up in trip on return. Cheekpieces also back on. 16-race maiden who still has stamina to prove at this trip; best watched on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Haaf A Diamond |
14/1(+58%) | (9) Haaf A Diamond 14/1, Out of sorts when last seen in September. A watching brief is advised back from 6 months off. Out of sorts last year and needs a major revival after six months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Voltaic |
11/2(+27%) | (2) Voltaic 11/2, C&D winner. Three wins from 14 runs last year. Bit below form when sixth of 11 in handicap (8/1) at this course (7f) 9 days ago. Back up in trip. On workable mark but he's not easy to predict and was quiet here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) ![]() Possible Ambition |
80/1(-100%) | (6) Possible Ambition 80/1, Last of 12 in handicap (150/1) at Southwell (1m) 16 days ago. Lightly raced in last 12 months and has struggled in last three runs; lots to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Scarfo |
25/1(-56%) | (10) Scarfo 25/1, Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2024. Sixth of 9 in C&D classified event 10 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. Held in sixth here in last two runs and he's now 1-16; others look stronger. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
C&D winner PESSOA has landed races back-to-back before and can repeat the feat after running on to score convincingly over 7f here last week. A 5lb penalty make things tougher for the six-year-old, but his proven liking for this venue is enough of a countering factor in his bid to gain a sixth Wolverhampton success. Port Noir is also effective here and commands respect from a winning mark. Fellow track-and-trip scorer Annalee Lass is another must for the shortlist.
Last week's 7f course scorer PESSOA is just as effective over this trip and is taken to defy a penalty. Port Noir is on a mark she really ought to be up to going close from, while an unexposed profile offers Absolutely Not the scope for better in handicaps.
Preference is for PESSOA, who got back on the scorsesheet with a strong-finishing win over 7f here last week.

5/2(+25%) | (1) L'immortale 5/2, Good start for this yard since coming from Ireland, second over C&D before winning 10-runner classified event at Lingfield on Monday. More needed under a 5 lb penalty here but no surprise were she to find it. Came good for current stable at second attempt; major player under a penalty here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Boujee Gold |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Boujee Gold 12/1, C&D winner in December. Two creditable in-frame efforts since and lost her chance with a slow start last time. Can be competitive off current mark but has been rather inconsistent in recent months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Making A Move |
14/1(-40%) | (7) Making A Move 14/1, Shaped well when close third over 1m at Newcastle in January but down the field in 2 subsequent starts there, albeit he had a hopeless task from his position after a slow start last time. Close third in Newcastle classified in January but two very disappointing runs followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Van Zant |
28/1(-40%) | (8) Van Zant 28/1, Course winner. Latest win at Southwell in January but has struggled since. 7f winner in January but recent effort have been disappointing; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Ravenglass |
10/3(-21%) | (4) Ravenglass 10/3, C&D winner. Notched another course win over 7f this month and went close back here (7f again) last week. Races off 2 lb lower this time and another bold bid is on the cards. Effectively 2lb lower than when close second in recent 7f handicap; this trip also suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Liege |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Liege 50/1, Eighth of 9 in classified event at Lingfield (7f) 62 days ago. Up in trip. 14-race maiden who was soundly beaten in 7f Lingfield classified on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) ![]() Evoluir |
14/1(-17%) | (2) Evoluir 14/1, Course winner in February. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap (22/1) at Newcastle (1m) 14 days ago, not ideally placed. Won 7f classified here last month and returns after 1m handicap fourth at Newcastle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
L'IMMORTALE has been a revelation since joining the Jack Jones stable and now that he has broken the maiden with a determined success over further at Lingfield on Monday, the five-year-old can follow up under a 5lb penalty. Narrowly denied in his attempt to land a 7f double here, Ravenglass is capable of being in the shake-up, as is Tactical Control, who may improve for going back up in distance slightly.
RAVENGLASS can land a second course win of the month under Finley Marsh. Monday's Lingfield scorer L'immortale could have more to offer for new trainer Jack Jones and is feared most ahead of Tactical Control, the mount of Billy Loughnane.
After quickening well to score at Lingfield on Monday, L'IMMORTALE can complete a quick double.

1st (5) ![]() Circus Of Rome |
11/10(+32%) | (5) Circus Of Rome 11/10, Much improved from debut when close second at Lingfield (8f) in December. Wasn't in same form over shorter trip at Chelmsford City (7f) last time but looks the one to beat here. Runner-up in two of his three races and he's the standard-setter in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Perfect Life |
6/1(-33%) | (4) Perfect Life 6/1, Built on promising debut effort when taking 7-runner maiden at this course (8.6f, 10/3) in December. May have more to offer yet, particularly over this longer trip. Comfortably repelled a well-touted Gosden newcomer here in December; looks useful. |

Significantly up in trip. Warrants respect. Won a weak race at Epsom before coming up well short in a French Group 3. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

28/1(-155%) | (8) Maraaheb 28/1, €60,000 foal, €42,000 yearling, Sottsass colt. Half-brother to numerous winners, including 1m-10.5f winner Opposite and winner up to 1½m Baahama, both smart in France. Wears hood. Makes appeal on paper. 42,000euros yearling; hooded for debut but in top hands and needs checking in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Lightning Tiger |
66/1(-200%) | (7) Lightning Tiger 66/1, Waldgeist gelding. Dam 1m/9f winner. Market check advised on debut. First foal; dam 1m-1m1f winner (including AW; RPR 96); likely best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) ![]() Soy Loco |
22/1(-83%) | (9) Soy Loco 22/1, Upped his game when third at Kempton (8f) last month and ran to similar level when second of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (10f, 10/1) 19 days ago. Ought to go well again. Perhaps flattered at Chelmsford last time but clearly up to winning races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) ![]() Camtank |
28/1(-250%) | (11) Camtank 28/1, 30,000 gns yearling, Camelot filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 1m Awesometank and useful 1m winner Frantanck. 250/1(-213%) | (1) Mybad 250/1, Twice-raced maiden. 25/1, sixth of 7 in maiden at Southwell (8.1f) 13 days ago. Up against it. Has performed to a modest level in his first two races at about 1m and looks outclassed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) ![]() Guinness Lad |
200/1(-150%) | (2) Guinness Lad 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. 300/1, sixth of 9 in novice at this course (9.5f) 15 days ago, not knocked about. Likely to improve. Has looked limited in a bumper, over hurdles and in three races on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) ![]() Godstone |
125/1(-213%) | (6) Godstone 125/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 11 in maiden (50/1) at Kempton (12f) 22 days ago. Down in trip. Others more persuasive. Showed more second time out at Kempton but was still beaten 8l and that was over 1m4f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
PERFECT LIFE showed significant improvement from his first to his second start when scoring at this venue and Marco Botti's colt can go in again under a penalty, with Hollie Doyle back in the saddle. Runner-up on his last two starts, Circus Of Rome looks just the type to improve for going up in trip. Hot Cash is of interest on the drop in grade, having contested a Group 3 at Deauville last summer.
The step up in trip should suit CIRCUS OF ROME, who boasts much the best form on offer here. He can open his account. Perfect Life and Soy Loco look the likeliest dangers.
Perfect Life won well here in December but conceding a penalty to CIRCUS OF ROME could prove troublesome.

1st (1) ![]() Cinque Verde |
4/1(+53%) | (1) Cinque Verde 4/1, C&D winner. Five wins from 11 runs last year. 16/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 27 days ago, doing too much too soon. Back down in trip. Others have achieved more. 1lb higher than for January's C&D win; latest run not the one to judge her on; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) ![]() Bang On The Bell |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Bang On The Bell 6/1, 4-time C&D winner. 2¾ lengths fifth of 7 to El Bufalo in handicap (11/2) at Chelmsford City (5f) 33 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. More realistically treated again now and no surprise to see him make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) ![]() Reigning Profit |
9/2(+55%) | (8) Reigning Profit 9/2, C&D winner who shaped encouragingly, back from 5 months off, when fifth of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 20/1) 23 days ago. 2 lb lower now and is an interesting contender. Saw no daylight on his return to action and a 2lb drop looks kind; C&D winner; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Dashing Harry |
13/2(+46%) | (5) Dashing Harry 13/2, Unreliable type. Latest win at Lingfield in February. 18/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 8 days ago. Others preferred. On a winning mark and the return to 5f should suit; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() El Bufalo |
4/1(+11%) | (2) El Bufalo 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in February. Fourth of 5 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 15/8) 14 days ago. Respected. Conditions fine and took well to blinkers at Chelmsford last month; less good latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Invincible Speed |
28/1(-133%) | (4) Invincible Speed 28/1, C&D winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 28/1) 36 days ago. Given a chance by the assessor. C&D win off 3lb higher last July; not shone in two 6f runs for this yard; drop in trip a +. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() Ecclesiastical |
5/1(-82%) | (3) Ecclesiastical 5/1, C&D winner who got back on scoreboard when landing 7-runner handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 22 days ago. 7 lb higher now but should go well again. Conditions to suit and won easily at Lingfield 3 weeks ago; up 7lb in a better race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Catch Cunningham |
9/1(-80%) | (7) Catch Cunningham 9/1, C&D winner who has acquitted himself well the last twice, latest when good second of 9 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 16 days ago. Remains fairly treated and is one for shortlist. Comes here in form and he's respected despite the widest stall. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Impressive when justifying favouritism over this distance at Lingfield, ECCLESIASTICAL has won over C&D before and he sets the standard on recent form, despite a 7lb rise in the weights. A consistent sort without getting his head in front since victory over track and trip last September, Catch Cunningham is on the shortlist along with another C&D winner in the shape of El Bufalo.
It could be worth chancing REIGNING PROFIT, who is back down to his last winning mark and should be straighter for his Newcastle return earlier this month. Catch Cunningham and Ecclesiastical are feared most.
A trappy event in which all eight runners have something to recommend them. DASHING HARRY may be the answer back at 5f.
Ths is the racecard key.
