1st (8) (17/2 -42%) Smasher |
17/2(-42%) | (8) Smasher 17/2, Dual C&D winner in January. Shaped as if still in good form when 3 lengths fifth of 12 to White Mist in handicap at Kempton (6f, 9/2) 15 days ago, keeping on until final 50 yds having pulled hard. Beaten at Kempton in hat-trick attempt but remains of interest; both wins over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (6/1 -50%) White Mist |
6/1(-50%) | (9) White Mist 6/1, C&D winner in December and January. 9/2, career best when also winning 12-runner handicap at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago, well on top finish. 4 lb higher and likely to continue in form. Record of 1211 since wearing visor; two of the wins came over C&D; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (14/1 -27%) Revision |
14/1(-27%) | (10) Revision 14/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Blinkered for 1st time, 4¼ lengths sixth of 12 to White Mist in handicap at Kempton (6f, 5/1) 15 days ago. Yet to show his form for current yard so best watched. 0-9 for current stable but has a chance off this mark provided his game is raised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 -64%) Revolucion |
9/1(-64%) | (2) Revolucion 9/1, C&D winner in December. Didn't get the rub of the green when fifth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (11/1) 17 days ago, never nearer after caught on heels early. Arrives in form, so he shouldn't be underestimated. Record is only 1-21 but the success came over C&D; respectable effort here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (125/1 -400%) Granny B |
125/1(-400%) | (7) Granny B 125/1, Winner at Pontefract in September. Rather predictably wasn't in the same form when seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (5.1f, 18/1) when last seen in October. May need this outing. Both starts for new yard came over 5f in the autumn; not sure what to expect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (33/1 -32%) All In The Hips |
33/1(-32%) | (6) All In The Hips 33/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 18 runs last year. Latest success at Chelmsford City in January. 50/1, again ran below form when eighth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Can bounce back reunited with this rider. Won at Chelmsford in January; form dipped in two races here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (12/1 +14%) Fiscal Policy |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Fiscal Policy 12/1, C&D winner. Shaped as if still in good form when fourth of 9 in handicap (4/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 74 days ago, left poorly placed. First run for yard after leaving Daniel & Claire Kubler. Three AW wins for the Kublers; sold for 1,000gns since last run; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (15/2 -88%) Mokaatil |
15/2(-88%) | (5) Mokaatil 15/2, 9/4, ending a losing run stretching back to mid-2022 when winning 9-runner handicap at this course (5.1f) 2 weeks ago, leading dying strides. Should remain competitive from 3 lb higher. Got up on the line in 5f contest here two weeks ago; should remain competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (Evens +50%) Big Dream |
Evens(+50%) | (1) Big Dream Evens, 3/1 and blinkered for 1st time, improved on recent efforts to easily win 9-runner handicap at this course (7.2f) 16 days ago, leading 2f out and drawing clear straight. Handicapper taken a swipe but he's effectively only 4 lb higher with useful apprentice taking over. Big chance. Irish 6yo who won well in first-time blinkers here (7f) last month; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (100/1 -203%) Harry With Style |
100/1(-203%) | (3) Harry With Style 100/1, 40/1, below form after 6 months off when last of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 11 days ago. Likely to be more interesting when the turf season starts; both wins on grass. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Mokaatil justified favouritism by the smallest of margins over 5f here and he is likely to be on the premises off a 3lb higher mark. However, he could come out second best to BIG DREAM, who struck in comfortable fashion over 7f at this venue and has been put up 9lb. Anthony McCann's six-year-old shouldn't have any issues with the drop in trip and can record a double. White Mist is also hard to ignore in her current form.
A tricky opener to solve with several arriving in form but the vote goes to Irish-raider BIG DREAM, who ended a long losing run in good style over 7f here last month and is effectively only 4 lb higher with promising apprentice Tommie Jakes taking over in the plate. White Mist made it 3 wins from 4 starts since the application of a visor at Kempton recently so she heads up the opposition, with Revolucion and Mokaatil also fancied to go well.
The drop in trip should be fine for BIG DREAM, who is taken to follow up his course win. White Mist is feared most.

1st (4) (13/2 -44%) Pegasus Of Harry |
13/2(-44%) | (4) Pegasus Of Harry 13/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 6 in handicap at this course (9.5f, 15/2) 14 days ago, shaping as though in need of a stiffer test. She gets that here and further progress is likely. Ran promisingly over 9.5f here last time, while shaping as if this longer trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/4 +25%) Something To Do |
9/4(+25%) | (5) Something To Do 9/4, Winner at Lingfield in February. 6/4, seventh of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 24 days ago. Back up in trip and tongue strap on 1st time. Should be in the mix if able to put his latest effort behind him. Solid record in handicaps until disappointing last time; may bounce back but looks quirky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 +0%) Flowering |
11/4(+0%) | (1) Flowering 11/4, Lightly-raced maiden. 13/2, good second of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 24 days ago with Something To Do back in seventh. Back up in trip and solid chance off an unchanged mark. Ties in with Unleash Hell on penultimate effort; good second at Chelmsford since; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (33/1 -136%) Scarbados |
33/1(-136%) | (6) Scarbados 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 80/1, last of 9 in maiden at Southwell (7.1f). Off 6 months and significantly up in trip for this handicap debut. Also sports a first-time hood. May do better now handicapping and upped in trip with hood applied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/2 +0%) Unleash Hell |
7/2(+0%) | (2) Unleash Hell 7/2, Second of 3 in handicap (10/3) at Kempton (12f) 42 days ago, no match for winner. Likely to be on the premises once again but record stands at 0-10. Largely consistent maiden; front-running second in both outings this year; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (6/1 -20%) Queen Roslyn |
6/1(-20%) | (7) Queen Roslyn 6/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in minor event (300/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 83 days ago. Likely she'll be seen in a better light now upped to a trip more in-keeping with her pedigree on this handicap debut. May improve sharply for this new scenario, being out of a C&D winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -400%) Angelica Catalani |
40/1(-400%) | (3) Angelica Catalani 40/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 8 in maiden at Newcastle (8f, 22/1) 25 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this handicap debut and needs to raise her game. May improve now qualified for a mark; out of a dual handicap scorer for her connections. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
FLOWERING finished one place behind Unleash Hell when third of three over 1m4f at Kempton in January, but she is now 2lb better off and backed that up with another encouraging display when runner-up at Chelmsford. Charlie Johnston's filly is fancied to reverse the form and shed her maiden tag. Unleash Hell remains on a workable mark and it would be no surprise to see him involved once more, while Scarbados warrants a market check on her handicap bow.
While QUEEN ROSLYN hasn't shown a great deal in a handful of appearances at up to 7f so far, we could be about to see an altogether different filly now that she's pitched into a handicap and, moreover, faced with a stiffer test. Flowering is an obvious threat on the back of her effort at Chelmsford where she found just one too good, while Pegasus of Harry's handicap debut third here a fortnight ago represented a step forward and she is also likely to appreciate this step up in trip.
Preference is for topweight FLOWERING, who looks poised to open her account. Unleash Hell is second choice.

1/2(+60%) | (1) Dyrholaey 1/2, €55,000 2-y-o, City Light colt. Half-brother to French 2-y-o 7f winner Major Oak. 5/1, perfect start when taking 8-runner maiden at Chelmsford City (6f) on debut 53 days ago, the penny dropping late on. Second won next time and he can improve. Leading claims under a penalty. Got up close home in 6f maiden at Chelmsford last month on debut; open to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 -48%) Perfect View |
10/3(-48%) | (2) Perfect View 10/3, Successful start in 6f Windsor maiden in May. 9/4, second of 9 at Chelmsford City (7f) 4 months later, no match for unbeaten Richard Hughes-trained filly. Off 156 days. Could have more to offer this year. Won at Windsor last May then ran well at Chelmsford in September; solid contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (12/1 -100%) Mrs Thrump |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Mrs Thrump 12/1, Twice-raced maiden. Second of 4 at Windsor (5.1f, heavy, 9/2) 133 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Should progress. Showed promise in two sprint races last October; open to improvement this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (80/1 -142%) Angel's Call |
80/1(-142%) | (3) Angel's Call 80/1, 40,000 gns yearling. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner. Withdrawn after refusing to enter stalls on intended debut for Richard Fahey, Oct 13. Gelded after. Sold 2,200 gns in January. 40,000gns yearling; withdrawn (refused to enter stalls) from an autumn race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (11/2 -38%) Miss Anya |
11/2(-38%) | (8) Miss Anya 11/2, Fair filly. 17/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 10 in nursery at this course (5.1f) 69 days ago, taking strong hold after 9 weeks off under this rider. Good claims on pick of her best form. The most exposed contender, being 0-7, but has a good chance at the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (25/1 +0%) Hardman |
25/1(+0%) | (4) Hardman 25/1, Twice-raced maiden. Gelded, sixth of 8 at Southwell (6.1f, 9/1) on return 58 days ago. Looks one for handicaps. May find handicaps his ideal scene but further progress is possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 +50%) Sergeants Legacy |
50/1(+50%) | (6) Sergeants Legacy 50/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, fifth of 9 at Lingfield (6f, AW) 22 days ago, left with lot to do and not knocked about. Looks one for handicaps in due course. Gives the impression he's one for handicaps over further shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (80/1 -142%) Itsalotafun |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Itsalotafun 80/1, Soldier's Call gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including 11.4f winner Apologise. Dam, 1m winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 9f Charlie Farnsbarns. Soldier's Call half-brother to two winners; market can guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Perfect View was strongly backed but only managed to fill the runner-up berth over 7f at Chelmsford in September and he sets the bar with a rating of 76 for others to aim at. The one chosen to surpass that is DYRHOLAEY, who was slowly into stride and forced to race wide on his Chelmsford debut, but that didn't prevent him from scoring by a neck. Archie Watson's colt should have any amount of improvement to come and can remain unbeaten. Mrs Thrump makes her all-weather debut and could also be a player.
DYRHOLAEY made the perfect start at Chelmsford over 7 weeks ago, the penny dropping with him late on, and with improvement on the way, he's taken to remain unbeaten. Miss Anya, in receipt of plenty of weight, shouldn't be far away, while Perfect View could have more to offer this year.
Being a solid contender on form and evidently suited by being fresh, PERFECT VIEW gets the vote. Mrs Thrump is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (2) (11/4 -38%) Bint Havana Gold |
11/4(-38%) | (2) Bint Havana Gold 11/4, Overcame a slow start when improving to make a winning handicap debut at Kempton (6f) in January. Kept on for second over 5f at Southwell only 3 days later and promises to be suited by this return to 6f. Big player under Ethan Jones. Still unexposed and warrants respect back up in trip; 6f winner on penultimate start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/2 +61%) Dandy Sands |
11/2(+61%) | (3) Dandy Sands 11/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Fourth on 1m Kempton handicap/stable debut in January but failed to build on that when down the field over 7f there 12 days later. Drops in trip again now. May see his race out better now dropped in distance/grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/1 +9%) Moe's Legacy |
5/1(+9%) | (7) Moe's Legacy 5/1, Winner over 6f at Kempton last month and creditable third of 10 in C&D handicap since. Enters calculations. Off the mark at Kempton last month; close third over C&D since; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 +10%) Sub Thirteen |
18/1(+10%) | (4) Sub Thirteen 18/1, Modest form at 2, including well held in nursery final start. First run for 171 days. Wind and gelding operations may spark a bigger effort on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (8/1 +33%) Restricted |
8/1(+33%) | (11) Restricted 8/1, Poor maiden but he ran one of his better races when fourth of 10 over C&D 17 days ago. Needs to back that up now. Ran well over C&D last month and ties in with Moe's Legacy on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (3/1 +33%) Twenty Bob |
3/1(+33%) | (1) Twenty Bob 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Third of 10 in C&D maiden 30 days ago. Should be competitive from this opening handicap mark. Ran well in C&D maiden last month; open to progress in handicaps; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (17/2 -70%) Upper Hand |
17/2(-70%) | (9) Upper Hand 17/2, 9/2, first run since leaving John Butler when last of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford (7f) 24 days ago. Tongue strap and cheekpieces on first time now. Possibilities in first-time tongue-tie/cheekpieces and with Rossa Ryan booked. |

9th (8) (25/1 -56%) Moreginplease |
25/1(-56%) | (8) Moreginplease 25/1, Modest maiden. 8/1, fifth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford (7f) 18 days ago, not ideally placed. Cheekpieces back on. Well treated on best form but she is the most exposed contender, being 0-14. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (100/1 -400%) Snow Boots |
100/1(-400%) | (10) Snow Boots 100/1, Poor form. Last of 11 on 6f Kempton handicap debut in October. Makes tapeta debut on return. Not easy to make a case for. Bred to take a step forward, being out of an AW winner for his yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BINT HAVANA GOLD didn't enjoy the best of passages when second at Southwell in January. A 1lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair given the winner that day subsequently ran with credit off an 11lb higher mark, and compensation could await Richard Hughes' filly in this contest. Moe's Legacy arrives in fine fettle and she is feared most, ahead of handicap debutant Twenty Bob.
Although her tendency to miss the break is a slight worry there should be more to come from BINT HAVANA GOLD back at 6f so she's the selection. Moe's Legacy arrives in good form and is second choice ahead of William Knight handicap newcomer Twenty Bob, who was third in a C&D maiden last month.
Being open to further progress back at 6f, BINT HAVANA GOLD holds particularly strong claims. Moe's Legacy is second choice.

2nd (3) (2/1 +40%) Artisan Dancer |
2/1(+40%) | (3) Artisan Dancer 2/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 15 runs last year. Latest win here in February. 9/2, good second of 12 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f) 9 days ago, rallying. Likeable type should go well again. Tough and reliable; won 5 times since August, the latest over C&D in February; bang there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/1 +10%) Gifted Angel |
9/1(+10%) | (8) Gifted Angel 9/1, Dual winner in juvenile hurdles before Christmas but ran no sort of in a Taunton handicap last month, which tempers enthusiasm on his return to the Flat. Won 3 hurdles last summer; pulled up last month; 0-14 on Flat and has never run on AW. |

Remains potentially well treated if back to his best. C&D winner; on losing run and hasn't looked ahead of his mark since back from absence. |

5th (5) (12/1 -41%) Zoran |
12/1(-41%) | (5) Zoran 12/1, Creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (15.8f, AW, 18/1) 29 days ago, having run of race. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Just touched off in first AW handicap, over 2m at Kempton in November; fair runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (12/1 -140%) Captain Kane |
12/1(-140%) | (4) Captain Kane 12/1, Course winner. Eight wins from 27 Flat runs. 13/2, entitled to be sharper for the run when 6 lengths third of 5 to Artisan Dancer in handicap at this C&D 24 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Not discounted if back to form now, Course winner at 1m1f/1m4f; mixed beyond latter trip but won over 2m on Polytrack in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5/2 +9%) Havanazam |
5/2(+9%) | (6) Havanazam 5/2, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap (9/2) at this C&D 30 days ago, well on top finish. 5 lb higher mark demands more but he's not ruled out. Made it 3-3 on this track when comfortable C&D winner latest; still has potential at 1m6f. |

8th (7) (18/1 -112%) Fairmac |
18/1(-112%) | (7) Fairmac 18/1, Didn't need to improve to win 3-runner minor event at Saint Moritz (8f) 22 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Blinkers back on. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Wins for previous yard at 7f-1m4f; has raced on snow for new stable, recent win at 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HAVANAZAM relished the drop back in distance when landing the spoils over track and trip last month. That was a career-best performance from the four-year-old and a 5lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop him from following up. The biggest threat may emerge from Artisan Dancer, who should appreciate the return to the scene of his last success, although Captain Kane is entitled to build on his reappearance third behind Charlie Johnston's inmate on that occasion.
ARTISAN DANCER is as consistent as they come and Charlie Johnston's inmate looks the most solid option in a competitive affair. Howth remains with only a single win to his name but isn't ruled out after a sound in-frame effort last time, with Havanazam also respected in this better company after winning over C&D last month.
Artisan Dancer has good claims but HAVANAZAM (nap) defends an unbeaten course record and has more to come at 1m6f.

Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 6/1, took a step back in the right direction from tumbling mark when fourth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 9 days ago. One to consider. Shaped encouragingly at Chelmsford nine days ago on only his second attempt over 5f. |

9th (3) (66/1 -100%) Captain Bentley |
66/1(-100%) | (3) Captain Bentley 66/1, Last of 6 in minor event (80/1) at this C&D 49 days ago so needs to bounce back. Holds unconvincing claims on overall from. |

10th (2) (16/1 -167%) Kinky Boots |
16/1(-167%) | (2) Kinky Boots 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, eleventh of 15 in minor event at Leicester (7f, soft, 50/1). Off 7 months. Makes handicap debut. Easy to look elsewhere. Open to progress now handicapping back on AW; market support should be heeded. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
KINKY BOOTS shaped with promise when placing twice on the all-weather at Chelmsford before struggling to land a blow when returning from a break on turf at Leicester over 7f back in August. The drop to 5f is likely to bring about improvement and she is fancied to make a successful handicap debut at the chief expense of Basholo, who returned to form when third here last time. The Tron should prove happier back in trip.
A trappy handicap in which marginal preference is for BASHOLO who paid for helping set a good pace when third here last time out and can now capitalise on a 1 lb lower mark. Fellow C&D scorer Doctor Mozart is feared most with Bluebells Boy, Toplight and My Turn Now also in the picture.
Kept to this C&D, MY TURN NOW may well build on her classified win and follow up. Mellys Flyer is second choice.

1st (6) (15/8 +6%) Twirler |
15/8(+6%) | (6) Twirler 15/8, Confirmed previous promise when making all in 7-runner minor event at Newcastle (7.1f, 3/1) 23 days ago. Could still have more to offer as she makes her handicap debut, so she looks a major player. Made all at Newcastle on latest novice start; open to further progress; big player. |

2nd (1) (11/4 +0%) Algheed |
11/4(+0%) | (1) Algheed 11/4, C&D winner who again ran well when third of 12 in handicap (12/1) back here 23 days ago. It's been a while since her last success, but she can make her presence felt back down in grade. Creditable efforts in better races this year; has done all her winning in this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/2 +56%) Unico |
7/2(+56%) | (7) Unico 7/2, Off the mark at Chelmsford City (6f) in September but hasn't yet built on that effort, fifth of 9 in minor event at the same course (7f, 6/1) on her final outing. It still remains early days, though, as she makes her tapeta debut. Still has low mileage; market support should be heeded on reappearance. |

4th (3) (7/2 +0%) Circles |
7/2(+0%) | (3) Circles 7/2, C&D winner in January and quickly left behind a lesser effort when second of 11 in handicap here (10/3) 16 days ago. Has to be taken seriously. Irish mare who has two pieces of sound C&D form this year, beaten narrowly latest. |

5th (4) (40/1 -100%) Theotherside |
40/1(-100%) | (4) Theotherside 40/1, Fifteen runs since last win back in 2021. Struggled for form in 4 outings early last year, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 50/1) when last seen in April. Others preferred after 11 months off. Well treated on peak form but market may prove best guide on return from layoff. |

6th (2) (22/1 -300%) Liberty Mountain |
22/1(-300%) | (2) Liberty Mountain 22/1, Doubled her tally when scoring at this C&D in October. Shaped as if back in form when fourth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 28/1) 58 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Needs to find more. Has won over C&D but isn't certain to turn up in top form (inconsistent of late). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TWIRLER has benefited from going up to 7f on her last couple of starts, with a placed effort at Lingfield followed up by a victory at Newcastle, and Charlie Fellowes' filly is open to further progression in handicap company. Circles was headed in the final strides over C&D on her latest outing and has to enter calculations once again, while others to note include Algheed and Unico.
TWIRLER has been going the right way in her 2 starts this year, opening her account at Newcastle last time, and she can continue her progress as she makes her handicap debut. The 3-y-o is taken to see off the challenge of Circles, who quickly bounced back to form when narrowly denied at this C&D 16 days ago, while Algheed is also respected.
Preference is for ALGHEED, whose last three attempts in this grade resulted in a hat-trick. Twirler is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
