(5) (4/1 +71%)4/1(+71%) | (5) National Health 4/1, Modest gelding. Eighth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (100/1) 26 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Not beaten far in a handicap over C&D last month; worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Eccentric |
(9) (15/2 +46%)15/2(+46%) | (9) Eccentric 15/2, Modest gelding. One win from 22 Flat runs. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (25/1) 5 days ago. 1-22 but not beaten far in a handicap over C&D last time; interesting down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bobby Dassler |
(1) (9/1 -64%)9/1(-64%) | (1) Bobby Dassler 9/1, Modest gelding. One win from 28 Flat runs. 12/1, creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 15 days ago, needing stronger gallop. 1-28; not beaten far at Southwell last time but not sure this longer trip is ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sir Laurence Graff |
(6) (10/1 -54%)10/1(-54%) | (6) Sir Laurence Graff 10/1, Modest gelding. Latest win at Lingfield in September and wasn't seen to best effect when seventh of 11 in handicap at this C&D (15/2) 75 days ago, not knocked about. Not taken lightly. Favoured by the race conditions, but has finished out of the frame in four visits here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Danehill Star |
(8) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (8) Danehill Star 14/1, Modest gelding. 11/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 71 days ago. Back down in trip. Second at Lingfield in September; now 0-15 but 1m4f would have been too far here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Peter Piper |
(11) (18/1 -64%)18/1(-64%) | (11) Peter Piper 18/1, Modest gelding. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 16/1) 31 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Hasn't beaten many in his seven starts, but the drop in grade is one cause for optimism. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ciara Storm |
(2) (33/1 -32%)33/1(-32%) | (2) Ciara Storm 33/1, Modest mare. Eighth of 12 in handicap (16/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 15 days ago. Placed once in 13 starts, but not beaten far in a couple of handicaps here in the autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(3) (66/1 -32%)66/1(-32%) | (3) Desiderata 66/1, Little form in varied events. First run for yard after leaving Ryan Potter. Well beaten in two bumpers and four starts on the Flat; hard to recommend on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Gypsy Nation |
(4) (80/1 -264%)80/1(-264%) | (4) Gypsy Nation 80/1, Eighth of 10 in minor event at Southwell (6.1f, 14/1). Off 16 months. Significantly up in trip. Unplaced in all 11 starts and has been absent for 17 months; plenty to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BOBBY DASSLER was beaten only a length when finishing fifth over a mile at Southwell on his latest start. He looks worth another try over a longer distance on that evidence and Michael Wigham's charge gets the vote. Eccentric posted a better effort over C&D on Monday and rates a threat with any further improvement, while National Health may also prove competitive in this lowly grade.
NORTHSTEAD GARDENS is a pretty reliable sort and gets the tentative vote in a decidedly ordinary race. Cherry King and Sir Laurence Graff rate the principal threats.
The votes goes to ECCENTRIC who wasn't beaten far in a handicap over C&D five days ago and drops to this level for the first time.

Twilight Guest |
(5) (6/4 +79%)6/4(+79%) | (5) Twilight Guest 6/4, Poor gelding. Remains a maiden after 24 Flat runs. Not disgraced when fourth of 12 in handicap (14/1) at Chelmsford City (10f) 30 days ago. Returned after wind surgery with an eyecatching fourth at Chelmsford; could be dangerous. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Init Together |
(2) (11/4 -57%)11/4(-57%) | (2) Init Together 11/4, Modest gelding. 11/4, creditable third of 15 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 92 days ago, travelling as well as any. Respectable on last Flat outing and has obvious claims on first start for Tony Carroll in a weak race. Good efforts over hurdles in Ireland in the autumn; interesting back on Flat for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pop Noodle |
(10) (3/1 +25%)3/1(+25%) | (10) Pop Noodle 3/1, Modest gelding. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D (11/1) 26 days ago. Player on pick of form. Didn't get much luck over C&D latest and that was much more like it after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dash Power |
(6) (11/1 +0%)11/1(+0%) | (6) Dash Power 11/1, Modest gelding. Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Blinkered for 1st time, first run since leaving Derek Shaw when fifth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 66/1) 16 days ago. 0-18 but he ran well on stable debut at Chelmsford (1m); could go well again at new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dors Delight |
(8) (18/1 -177%)18/1(-177%) | (8) Dors Delight 18/1, Modest filly. Hooded/tongue strap on for 1st time, respectable third of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 66/1) 16 days ago. Improved third at Chelmsford last time and has each-way claims again back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rivas Rob Roy |
(4) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (4) Rivas Rob Roy 22/1, C&D winner. 66/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Bath (8f, heavy) 75 days ago. Prolific winner and he's a big player if he can get back on track after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Reason To Pass |
(3) (40/1 -21%)40/1(-21%) | (3) Reason To Pass 40/1, 66/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at this C&D 19 days ago. Remains with little form. Well held in all seven starts and he's finished out the back in C&D handicaps last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Disquietude |
(7) (50/1 -79%)50/1(-79%) | (7) Disquietude 50/1, Last of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 125/1) 65 days ago. Yet to show any ability. Big prices and beaten a long way all of his seven runs (7f-11.4f); can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Doras Tamar |
(1) (80/1 -264%)80/1(-264%) | (1) Doras Tamar 80/1, Failed to come on for recent run in first-time tongue strap when tenth of 11 in handicap (80/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 56 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Runner-up on debut in 2023 but had only five runs since and has struggled in all of them. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Exceptionality |
(9) (100/1 -203%)100/1(-203%) | (9) Exceptionality 100/1, Eighth of 10 in handicap at this course (14f, 66/1) 14 days ago, slowly away. Significantly back down in trip. Blinkers on for 1st time. 0-15 and he's struggled in last five runs; new headgear is now tried back at this trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
TWILIGHT GUEST showed some improvement when fourth in a handicap at Chelmsford on his first appearance after wind surgery. He failed to get a clear passage on that occasion and could go close with normal luck in-running. Dors Delight steps back up in distance with a chance after placing over a mile at Chelmsford, while Dash Power produced a better effort at the same venue on his first start for his new trainer and could get involved.
INIT TOGETHER ran up to his best on his most recent outing over jumps, so he appeals as the most solid option returning to this code for a new trainer. Pop Noodle has good claims on the pick of his form, with Twilight Guest and Dors Delight others to consider.
The vote goes to POP NOODLE, who didn't get any luck over C&D last time and that was a promising effort after wind surgery.

Miakoda |
(2) (6/4 +50%)6/4(+50%) | (2) Miakoda 6/4, Still a maiden but he posted a good third of 11 in nursery (8/1) at Kempton (6f) 82 days ago on his final run for Richard Hannon. Interesting newcomer for excellent yard. Ran well twice on AW in the autumn for Richard Hannon; firmly in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Last Time |
(7) (11/5 +63%)11/5(+63%) | (7) The Last Time 11/5, Thrice-raced maiden. 125/1, eighth of 10 in maiden at Windsor (5.1f, firm). Off 154 days. Makes handicap debut with work to do. May do better now handicapping on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Until Dawn |
(5) (8/1 +33%)8/1(+33%) | (5) Until Dawn 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 7 in maiden at Hamilton (5f, good to soft, 66/1). Off 96 days/had a wind op ahead of her handicap debut so not ruled out. May be capable of improvement now handicapping on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dubai Magic |
(1) (9/1 +10%)9/1(+10%) | (1) Dubai Magic 9/1, Last of 12 in nursery (12/1) at this course (6.1f) 33 days ago. Enters calculations if back on her A-game. Peak effort when going close off this mark over C&D in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cuban Lynx |
(8) (10/1 -300%)10/1(-300%) | (8) Cuban Lynx 10/1, Visored for 1st time, good second of 10 in nursery at Newcastle (5f, 13/2) 14 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Has good chance on form. Ran well in first-time visor at Newcastle last month; now blinkered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Frankies Dream |
(6) (16/1 -167%)16/1(-167%) | (6) Frankies Dream 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1 and hooded for 1st time, creditable fourth of 8 in nursery at Chelmsford City (5f) 16 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up. Ran encouragingly in first-time hood at Chelmsford last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kensington Hope |
(4) (20/1 -67%)20/1(-67%) | (4) Kensington Hope 20/1, 50/1, seventh of 9 in nursery at Dundalk (6f) 24 days ago. Cheekpieces back on with more needed. Not totally solid in terms of form and has never made the frame. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Woodhay Whisper |
(3) (50/1 -317%)50/1(-317%) | (3) Woodhay Whisper 50/1, Solid fourth of 7 in nursery at this C&D (28/1) 42 days ago. Can give another good account. Close fourth over C&D last time; frame possibilities. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DUBAI MAGIC stumbled after clipping heels here last time and can be forgiven that effort. James Tate's filly was beaten only a nose over C&D back in September and gets the vote off the same mark. Miakoda also went close at this venue in the same month, and he debuts for James Owen's in-form yard with a chance having now been gelded. Newcastle runner-up Cuban Lynx is worthy of a second glance representing last year's winning stable.
MIAKODA signed off for Richard Hannon with a good Kempton third and is fancied to make a winning start for the excellent James Owen team here. Cuban Lynx is feared most on the back of his solid Newcastle second with Frankies Dream and Woodhay Whisper also in the mix.
A maiden handicap in all but name. Preference is for MIAKODA on his debut for James Owen. Dubai Magic is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Star Chorus |
(5) (7/4 +36%)7/4(+36%) | (5) Star Chorus 7/4, Thrice-raced colt. Didn't enjoy the rub of the green when third of 9 in novice at Newcastle (5f) 54 days ago. Holds solid form claims. Progressive form, finishing in front of Queenofdestruction when third at Newcastle latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Miss Funky Monk |
(8) (5/1 -122%)5/1(-122%) | (8) Miss Funky Monk 5/1, Promising second of 11 in novice at this C&D 21 days ago. Should improve again so she must enter calculations. Went from front when promising second over C&D latest; drawn widest but still respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Just Like Magic |
(4) (14/1 -75%)14/1(-75%) | (4) Just Like Magic 14/1, Twice-raced colt, better effort on the back of wind surgery when fifth of 11 in novice at this C&D 21 days ago. Can take another step forward. Hung left when fifth over C&D recently but that was a step up on debut six months earlier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Crowd Quake |
(1) (40/1 -21%)40/1(-21%) | (1) Crowd Quake 40/1, First run since leaving Julia Feilden when sixth of 12 in maiden at Southwell (5f, 18/1) on flat debut 22 days ago, never nearer. Lots more needed. Well held in a bumper but promise when sixth in 5f Southwell maiden for new yard recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lily's Symphony |
(7) (100/1 0%)100/1(0%) | (7) Lily's Symphony 100/1, Twice-raced filly. 250/1, seventh of 9 in novice at Southwell (6.1f) 16 days ago. Plenty more is required. Big prices and no short-term promise in two outings over 6f in recent months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Darlo Lady |
(2) (250/1 -150%)250/1(-150%) | (2) Darlo Lady 250/1, Twice-raced filly. 200/1, last of 9 in novice at Southwell (7.1f) 15 days ago. Down in trip. Hooded for 1st time. Well held in two runs over 7f last month; now down 2f in trip with a hood added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Star Chorus (third) was inconvenienced but did well to finish ahead of Queenofdestruction (fourth) when the pair met at Newcastle in November and both are expected to be in the thick of things here. However, it could pay to side with MISS FUNKY MONK. She improved for her Southwell debut over 6f when dropped to this distance here last month and can build on that second-placed effort.
QUEENOFDESTRUCTION fluffed her lines when an odds-on fourth at Newcastle last time but cam make amends, with Miss Funky Monk and Star Chorus not discounted.
Although QUEENOFDESTRUCTION was beaten at short odds last time, a return to the form of her C&D debut would make her hard to beat.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Optician |
(4) (7/2 -56%)7/2(-56%) | (4) Optician 7/2, Five-time course winner, latest when readily landing 7-runner handicap at this C&D 15 days ago. Up 3 lb but the form has been franked so big shout. 5-9 around here, winning in good style over C&D last time; may be more to come from him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Parramount |
(2) (9/2 -29%)9/2(-29%) | (2) Parramount 9/2, C&D winner. Winner here in November. Creditable 2¾ lengths third of 7 to Optician in handicap at this C&D (6/4) 15 days ago, missing break. In the mix once more. C&D winner in November and third back here 15 days ago; likely to be right there again. |

Roaring Legend |
(1) (5/1 +33%)5/1(+33%) | (1) Roaring Legend 5/1, Well-held fourth of 6 in handicap chase at Huntingdon (16.5f, good, 5/2) on debut over fences 62 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Olly Murphy and can't be discounted back in this sphere. Attempts this far for the first time on the Flat; watch market on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lexington Knight |
(3) (11/1 +8%)11/1(+8%) | (3) Lexington Knight 11/1, Course winner. Latest win at Brighton in August. Respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 16/1) 17 days ago. One to consider. Three-time winner over 1m4f here, but this sort of trip has stretched him in the past. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Saligo Bay |
(6) (12/1 +52%)12/1(+52%) | (6) Saligo Bay 12/1, Creditable second of 15 in handicap hurdle at Plumpton (15.9f, good to soft, 2/1) 75 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving Gary & Josh Moore. No forlorn hope. Three wins over hurdles and two on turf, but this looks a tough ask on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Warrior Lion |
(7) (16/1 -14%)16/1(-14%) | (7) Warrior Lion 16/1, Irish raider posted a creditable seventh of 12 in handicap at Dundalk (12f) 22 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Tongue strap back on. Ought to be thereabouts. 0-16 and best watched unless the market suggests otherwise. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Optician was defeated by Parramount over C&D in November, but he gained his revenge the following month and the pair are likely to be thereabouts once again. However, the vote goes to WONDER, who landed his maiden over the extended 1m1f here before shaping with promise over 1m2f at Newcastle on his handicap bow. The lightly-raced four-year-old can continue to progress, especially given that a further step up in trip looks a positive move.
OPTICIAN arrives at the top of his game and with the form of his latest C&D success having been well advertised he is fancied to bag a sixth course victory. James Fanshawe's Wonder is much less exposed and rates the main threat on the back of his encouraging Newcastle fourth with Irish challenger Warrior Lion and Sam England's new recruit Saligo Bay others to consider.
It's one each between OPTICIAN (nap) and Parramount over C&D. The former won well last time and may have more to offer as a stayer.

Obvious claims despite the quick turnaround. Completed a Newcastle hat-trick on Thursday but is 11lb higher here; it looks a tough ask. |

Rosenpur |
(2) (11/4 +8%)11/4(+8%) | (2) Rosenpur 11/4, 9/4, good second of 11 in handicap at this C&D 15 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Has to be taken seriously. 0-15; runner-up in his last three starts, the last two over this C&D; ought to go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Circles |
(6) (9/2 +36%)9/2(+36%) | (6) Circles 9/2, C&D winner. 15/2, good third of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (7f) 17 days ago, nearest finish. This looks less competitive and she makes plenty of appeal. Just 1lb higher than when winning a division of this race last year and ran well last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ignac Lamar |
(8) (5/1 +38%)5/1(+38%) | (8) Ignac Lamar 5/1, Course winner. Third of 12 in handicap (11/2) at this C&D 26 days ago, running on. Merits consideration for stable going well. All three wins at 6f, but has been placed twice over this C&D; shouldn't be far away. |

First Dynasty |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ROSENPUR has been knocking at the door recently and although winless from 15 attempts, a first career success looks possible for the son of Pour Moi. Circles has twice run creditably at Dundalk this winter and looks to be one of the main protagonists, along with the well-drawn Ignac Lamar, who finished a solid third over C&D last month. Angel Of Antrim would have to be feared if turned out quickly following Thursday's Newcastle triumph.
CIRCLES has won here in the past and shaped as if she's in top form when staying on into third in a more competitive race at Dundalk last time, so she's worth chancing. The thriving Angel of Antrim is an obvious player and Rosenpur should be on the premises.
The vote goes to CIRCLES who won a division of this race off 1lb lower last year and signalled a return to form at Dundalk last time.

Split Elevens |
(1) (7/1 -211%)7/1(-211%) | (1) Split Elevens 7/1, 3-time C&D winner. Five wins from 17 runs last year. Latest win here in October. Good third of 8 in handicap at this C&D (3/1) 61 days ago. Looks the one to beat. Best form for a while over C&D in the autumn, winning then close 3rd; good chance again. |

Had been shaping well prior to latest effort, so can't be ruled out. Some good runs in defeat over C&D of late; return to 7f can suit; shouldn't be far away. |

(7) (8/1 -7%)8/1(-7%) | (7) American Rose 8/1, Course winner. Latest win at Lingfield in August. 5/2, eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D 61 days ago, very slowly away. Needs to put latest display behind her with cheekpieces refitted. Won over 7f on Lingfield AW in August but has become hard to trust at the start. |

Reputation |
(5) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (5) Reputation 10/1, Latest win at Southwell in November. 22/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at this C&D 15 days ago, running on. One to consider. Followed some sound efforts with 7f win at Southwell; good 3rd over C&D since. |

Lion's Dream |
(4) (20/1 -11%)20/1(-11%) | (4) Lion's Dream 20/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (10/3), hampered. Off 14 months. First run for yard after leaving Michael Appleby. Returns with a bit to prove. Sole win on debut in 2022; well treated on best 7f AW form but off since October 2023. |

Midnight Flame |
(9) (28/1 +0%)28/1(+0%) | (9) Midnight Flame 28/1, Remains a maiden after 29 Flat runs. Below form sixth of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Lingfield (6f, AW) 44 days ago. Others make more appeal. Maiden; placed a few times, including over 6f and 7f here; others more likely winners. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Split Elevens finished a close-up third over track and trip in November and warrants plenty of respect off an unchanged rating. However, the vote goes to NIGHTS OVER EGYPT, who was closing all the way to the line when fifth over an extended mile here and also goes off the same mark. Jennie Candlish's five-year-old could appreciate this drop in trip in order to make it two wins out of his last three starts. Reputation is another to note.
SPLIT ELEVENS was in good form at this track in the autumn and is still on a handy mark back from a break, so he's preferred to the in-form City Cyclone, with Reputation also respected in an open-looking contest.
Split Elevens can give another bold show but CITY CYCLONE is interesting back over C&D off a favourable mark.

Cynosure |
(3) (5/2 +17%)5/2(+17%) | (3) Cynosure 5/2, Successful at Lingfield on first start in 2024 and, after 7 months off, left behind a lesser effort when second of 11 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 7/1) 44 days ago. Can resume winning ways with more still to offer. Ran well at Southwell last month; lightly raced and looks open to further progress. |

Smart Hero |
(5) (5/2 +38%)5/2(+38%) | (5) Smart Hero 5/2, Hasn't kicked on from his win at Southwell in August, though in first-time hood he needed a stronger gallop when fifth of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 15/8) 31 days ago. Needs everything to drop right upped in trip. Ended up with too much to do in steadily run race last time; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Vibrato |
(4) (5/1 -50%)5/1(-50%) | (4) Vibrato 5/1, Course winner who made it 3 wins from his last 4 starts when successful in 10-runner handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 11/2) 6 days ago, digging deep. Carries penalty but can make another bold bid in his current form. Got up on the line at Southwell last Sunday, making it three wins from last four runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Urban Sprawl |
(6) (11/2 +15%)11/2(+15%) | (6) Urban Sprawl 11/2, Capitalised on a reduced mark when scoring at Pontefract in October. Ran to similar level when fifth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 15/2) 75 days ago and he can give another good account. Absent since October; well treated on best form but has never won when fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Noble Order |
(1) (17/2 -21%)17/2(-21%) | (1) Noble Order 17/2, Successful start for current yard at Newcastle last year but not in same form since, racing freely after 7 months off when tenth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 6/1) 17 days ago. Drop back in grade could help at least. Interesting returned to this grade, having won sole attempt in a Class 4 handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Island Bandit |
(7) (17/2 +6%)17/2(+6%) | (7) Island Bandit 17/2, Best effort last year when runner-up at this C&D in October and backed that up when fifth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 7/1) 46 days ago. On a workable mark as he drops back down in trip. 0-8 on AW but went very close over C&D on penultimate outing; not ruled out. |

Diamondonthehill |
(2) (66/1 -100%)66/1(-100%) | (2) Diamondonthehill 66/1, Form went the wrong way last year. Had excuses on first run since leaving Michael Dods when last of 14 in handicap (33/1) at Southwell (7.1f) 3 weeks ago, stumbling badly start, but others still more persuasive. Had an excuse back on AW last time but still has something to prove in this sphere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Vibrato was all out to score by a head at Southwell last weekend and he should remain competitive, but a 5lb penalty for that victory makes life tougher. With that in mind, CYNOSURE gets the nod. Andrew Balding's four-year-old produced arguably a career best when taking the silver medal home at Southwell in November and he could take another step forward to go one better. Smart Hero is the pick of the remainder.
Making only his second handicap start, CYNOSURE resumed his progress when bumping into a well-treated rival at Southwell in November and he can build on that to double his tally. Vibrato arrives in good form and is respected under a penalty, while Urban Sprawl could also be thereabouts.
With further improvement very plausible, CYNOSURE is preferred. Island Bandit is second choice.

Masqool |
(6) (7/2 +22%)7/2(+22%) | (6) Masqool 7/2, Successful twice at Lingfield early last year and back to winning ways in 10-runner handicap (11/2) at this C&D 9 days ago, making all. Not ruled out back up 2 lb in the weights. Recorded his ninth AW win when scoring over C&D on Boxing Day; big player again up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Crafter |
(1) (4/1 -14%)4/1(-14%) | (1) Crafter 4/1, Dual C&D winner who also scored at Lingfield (10f) in November. Shaped well when second of 11 in handicap (2/1) back at Lingfield 13 days ago, left poorly placed. Major player in his current form. Dual C&D winner who has been in good form at Lingfield in last three starts; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Have You A Minute |
(11) (4/1 +50%)4/1(+50%) | (11) Have You A Minute 4/1, C&D winner who doubled his tally at Southwell in August. Shaped well when runner-up at this C&D in November, before unsuited by steady pace when ninth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 5/1) 25 days ago. One to note. Went close over C&D in November but she needs to bounce back after a tame effort last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Overlooked |
(5) (6/1 +14%)6/1(+14%) | (5) Overlooked 6/1, Remains a maiden but has made the frame twice in 4 starts for current yard, fourth of 12 in handicap (10/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 16 days ago. Has eased further in the weights, though more needed to take advantage back up in trip. In fair form for new yard but over shorter trips and he has tough draw here; down the list. |

Tasmanian Legend |
(7) (15/2 +32%)15/2(+32%) | (7) Tasmanian Legend 15/2, Won three times early last year, including twice at this course (both at 8.6f). Below form upped further in trip when eighth of 10 in handicap (22/1) at Southwell (12.1f) 25 days ago. Others make more appeal. On reduced mark but he's been well held in last three runs and needs a major revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Green Power |
(9) (9/1 +78%)9/1(+78%) | (9) Green Power 9/1, Latest win at this course (8.6f) in February last year. Mixed form since, though, running poorly when ninth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 33/1) 52 days ago. Completed a double off 9lb higher here last February but he's generally struggled since. |

Molly Valentine |
(10) (10/1 -18%)10/1(-18%) | (10) Molly Valentine 10/1, Took advantage of reduced mark when recording a first success of 2024 in 11-runner handicap (15/2) at this C&D 2 weeks ago, proving herself at the trip. Remains well treated on old form so she could be in the mix again. Ended a long losing run over C&D last time and she's only 2lb higher here; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cerulean Summer |
(4) (11/1 -38%)11/1(-38%) | (4) Cerulean Summer 11/1, Won twice over C&D last year, with latest success in November. Soon bounced back from a lesser effort when third of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 18/1) last time, so she could be involved returned to this venue. Two C&D wins in the autumn and was third at Chelmsford last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Covert Legend |
(3) (28/1 -211%)28/1(-211%) | (3) Covert Legend 28/1, Off the mark at this course (8.6f) in April last year. In first-time blinkers, needed stronger gallop when sixth of 12 in handicap (8/1) at Southwell (8.1f) when last seen in September. Cheekpieces back on. Frequent slow starter; returns after a break but has claims if he gets some luck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Capuchinero |
(2) (33/1 -136%)33/1(-136%) | (2) Capuchinero 33/1, Latest win at Brighton in July and has remained in decent heart back on all-weather, respectable fourth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 18/1) 25 days ago. Can give her running as she goes up in trip. Still 2lb higher than for last win and this trip is an unknown factor; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Pug |
(12) (50/1 -25%)50/1(-25%) | (12) The Pug 50/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Making first start since leaving Sylvester Kirk, ran no sort of race when last of 13 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 22/1) 17 days ago. Has work to do. Lats win was 16 months ago and he was tailed off on stable debut at Kempton last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MASQOOL beat a subsequent winner over track and trip on Boxing Day and he is only 2lb higher for that triumph. The seven-year-old is well drawn to lead from stall two and he could prove tough to catch. Crafter hasn't been out of the top two in each of his last three starts and would be foolish to dismiss off a 1lb higher rating than his most recent second at Lingfield. Last-time-out C&D winner Molly Valentine is another to keep a close eye on.
CRAFTER continued in good heart when runner-up at Lingfield on his latest outing, despite having been held up in a slowly-run race, so he is taken to gain a third C&D victory. He is preferred to Molly Valentine, who returned to winning ways at this course a fortnight ago, while Have You A Minute had excuses last time and could bounce back.
Preference is for MASQOOL, who recorded his ninth AW win when making virtually all over C&D on Boxing Day. Crafter is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.
