1st (1) ![]() Jingko Blue |
4/9(+51%) | (1) Jingko Blue 4/9, Looked very promising when landing novice/handicap hurdles last winter. His poor run in at the Cheltenham Festival came at a time when his stable were under a cloud and this former Irish point winner made a bright start to chase career when making winning return at Uttoxeter. The one to beat. Created very good impression on last month's chasing debut and looks the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Lowry's Bar |
9/4(0%) | (3) Lowry's Bar 9/4, Winner of his first 4 starts over hurdles last term and confirmed chase debut promise when narrow winner at Exeter. Improved again when following up at Chepstow and this likeable type promises to be suited by this longer distance. Dual 2m3f handicap chase winner last month and open to further progress over 3m; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Johnnywho |
11/2(-10%) | (2) Johnnywho 11/2, Ended hurdling campaign with good fourth on handicap debut at Aintree and bettered that form when taking 3-runner novice at Carlisle on return/debut over fences. Unsuited by emphasis on speed when third in Grade 2s at Newbury/Ascot since and stiffer test here should suit. Useful hurdler; won small-field chase in October; not in same form in two Grade 2s since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
JINGKO BLUE was a useful novice hurdler last season, with his only real blip coming when pulled up at the Cheltenham Festival, and he kicked off his chasing career in sparkling fashion when bolting up at Uttoxeter. Nicky Henderson's six-year-old looks set to relish a step up to three miles and is very much the one to beat. Lowry's Bar is on an upward curve too, though. He might be best placed to put it up to the selection because Johnnywho's jumping let him down when sent off favourite for an Ascot Grade 2.
JINGKO BLUE created an excellent impression in making a winning start over fences after 9 months off at Uttoxeter, surpassing his hurdles form straight away, and looks a chaser to follow. He shades the vote over the likeable Lowry's Bar.
Unexposed 6yo JINGKO BLUE impressed on last month's chasing debut debut and could be very smart. Lowry's Bar is a respected danger.

1st (1) ![]() Jubilee Alpha |
8/13(+55%) | (1) Jubilee Alpha 8/13, Reversed the form of her 1½ lengths third of 9 to Listentoyourheart when scoring impressively in a Listed mares novice hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, good to soft) 20 days ago, seeing off some promising mares. That performance sets the standard here and she looks the one to beat. Listed winner at Taunton who holds leading claims despite carrying top weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Bluey |
4/1(+64%) | (3) Bluey 4/1, Point winner who made all on only start in bumpers at Plumpton (17.7f) in April. Left hurdles bow behind when much improved, winning an 11-runner novice hurdle at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) 24 days ago, only ridden out late on having always led. Open to further progress. Won by 3l at Wincanton and that form reads well; could have a say for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Khrisma |
8/1(-300%) | (7) Khrisma 8/1, Dual bumper winner in France who also finished third in a Grade 1 bumper at Fontainebleau 14 months ago on her final run for Emmanuel Clayeux. Wears hood for UK debut and is very much one to consider now going hurdling for new leading owner/top yard. Absent since 2023 but lots of promise in French bumpers and since joined top connections. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() Siog Geal |
13/2(+19%) | (4) Siog Geal 13/2, £80,000 buy after winning sole outing in Irish points and showed plenty in a couple of bumpers, including second in a Listed event. Made a winning start when warm order for hurdles debut at Catterick and will have learned plenty. Respected and will be even better over further in time. Won on hurdle debut at Catterick; others have stronger form but she's open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Barrabool |
50/1(-317%) | (2) Barrabool 50/1, Just modest form in bumpers for Tom Weston but hard to know what she achieved on hurdles debut for Harry Derham, making all to land a modest three-runner maiden at Plumpton (15.9f), comfortably. She is open to improvement for yard going well but this is a much tougher race. Easy Plumpton win; remains to be seen where limitations lie; this is drastically tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Everest |
200/1(-60%) | (5) Everest 200/1, Ran to a fair level when second on debut in a Southwell bumper (15.8f) but struggled to make an impact in stronger company at Cheltenham in 2 starts afterwards. 33¼ lengths fifth of 11 to Bluey in a novice hurdle at Wincanton (15.2f) on hurdles bow 24 days ago and looks to have a mountain to climb. Runner-up on debut in Southwell bumper but unable to kick on from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Katira Du Mestivel |
22/1(-100%) | (6) Katira Du Mestivel 22/1, Cost €85,000 as a 3-y-o and held every chance when exiting at the last in a maiden point last spring. Excellent second on hurdles debut at Fontwell (19f, winner second in a Listed race behind Jubilee Alpha since), travelled best and headed last. Drop in trip should help and has decent claims here. Improvement needed but there can be optimism she'll be capable of better; not discounted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Bluey impressed when making all at Wincanton on Boxing Day and she could be involved with further progress on the cards, but preference is for JUBILEE ALPHA. Paul Nicholls' mare has a penalty to shoulder having recorded a comfortable Listed triumph at Taunton recently, but the progressive six-year-old might be up to the task. Market support for Khrisma would heighten interest, although Siog Geal might be a bigger threat today.
Some exciting mares on show and JUBILEE ALPHA sets the standard after her dominant victory in a Listed event last time. Placed in a Grade 1 bumper on her final start in France, Khrisma is a fascinating new recruit for the Henderson team, while Katira du Mestivel showed lots of promise on hurdle debut and could be an improver.
Preference is for JUBILEE ALPHA, who looked very good when comfortably winning a Listed race at Taunton three weeks ago.

1st (3) ![]() Guard Duty |
11/2(+21%) | (3) Guard Duty 11/2, Hooded when landing 2m Uttoxeter novice in July and best effort since (improved) when runner-up in a Lingfield handicap last month, clear of the remainder. May remain on a fair mark. Just lost out to determined rival at Lingfield last month (front pair clear); went up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Hartington |
7/1(-17%) | (4) Hartington 7/1, Landed a decent novice at Newbury before a good second to Honky Tonk Highway in a listed race at Sandown last time. Back up in trip and mark demands improvement. Second in Listed race since 2m Newbury win in November; back up in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) ![]() Super Sabre Sam |
16/1(+43%) | (7) Super Sabre Sam 16/1, Much improved to land a 19f Fontwell maiden on his reappearance in October. Failed to back it up at Taunton next time and others are more appealing. Maiden winner in October but soundly beaten on handicap debut the following month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Illegal D'ainay |
25/1(-39%) | (5) Illegal D'ainay 25/1, Opened his hurdle account in 2m Plumpton maiden in May. Has bettered that form when placed twice under a penalty in recent months but needs more now handicapping. Plumpton maiden winner; not discredited over C&D last month; a possible on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Reallyntruthfully |
10/1(-33%) | (1) Reallyntruthfully 10/1, Runner-up sole outing in points last spring and showed promise in a Huntingdon bumper/maiden hurdle before opening his account at Warwick last time. Handicapper has handed him a stiff mark but there should be more to come. Clearcut winner of Warwick maiden last month; should improve again in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Zanndabad |
5/1(-25%) | (2) Zanndabad 5/1, Useful on Flat and, while he is yet to reproduce that level of form, he has shaped better than the result on numerous occasions over hurdles and he's likely to get involved returning to handicaps. 0-7 over hurdles and more exposed than most but current mark ought to be workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Devon Dude |
20/1(-43%) | (9) Devon Dude 20/1, Dartmouth gelding who is bred to stay well but displayed enough speed to win 4-runner bumper at Chepstow (16f, heavy) in March. Promise on both hurdling outings and this longer trip should suit making quick switch to handicaps. Bumper winner; in the frame in both hurdles and moves into a handicap with potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) ![]() Officer Of State |
25/1(-56%) | (10) Officer Of State 25/1, Useful 15f winner on the Flat for Andre Fabre in France. Sold for 65,000 gns and readily landed 17f Fontwell handicap hurdle in November. Hasn't progressed again but it's still early days. Cantered clear to win at Fontwell in November but needs to kick on again today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) ![]() Fasol |
4/1(+11%) | (8) Fasol 4/1, A very useful winning stayer on the Flat in France. Yet to match that form over hurdles but better efforts in second the last twice and that Flat ability provides the hope for better again. Big player back up in trip. Good second of 18 in 1m7f Ascot handicap last month and this longer trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) ![]() Onewaywest |
3/1(+54%) | (6) Onewaywest 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who returned from an 11-month absence when second in a C&D handicap last month. Could do better still and deserves respect. Made good headway from poor position to finish second over C&D last month; can improve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ONEWAYWEST caught the eye when staying on from well off the pace to fill the runner-up spot over C&D on his reappearance, getting closest to a progressive winner. Ben Pauling's six-year-old looks set to improve and, despite a 4lb rise, is taken to go one place better. Hartington struck the crossbar in a Listed contest at Sandown and merits respect on his handicap bow, as does Reallyntruthfully, who impressed when landing a maiden hurdle at Warwick.
FASOL is thrown in on Flat form and, while he has taken a while to get the hang of hurdling, there has been a lot more encouragement the last twice and he's worth a chance to go one better. Zanndabad may still be on a feasible mark and is arguably the biggest danger, albeit Reallyntruthfully should have even more to offer.
The pick is ONEWAYWEST, who did not have the race run to suit his patient tactics but still ran on well for second over C&D last month.

1st (1) ![]() Matata |
2/1(+50%) | (1) Matata 2/1, Headstrong sort but he made up into a smart novice chaser last term and he's improved again in handicaps at Cheltenham this autumn, finishing close second on return before going one better 23 days later. Only just denied at Kelso since and remains of interest. Front-runner who has been in fine form and should be a tough nut to crack once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Unexpected Party |
22/1(-120%) | (4) Unexpected Party 22/1, Enjoyed his finest hour when landing Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival in March. Not disgraced when 13¼ lengths last of 4 to Jonbon in Shloer Chase at Cheltenham (15.9f) in November but this probably not his long-term target. Last season's Grand Annual winner who is a possible player now back in a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Crebilly |
13/2(+28%) | (5) Crebilly 13/2, Did well over fences last term, his highlight coming when a fine second in Plate Handicap at the Cheltenham Festival. Presumably having a pipe-opener back hurdling after 6 months off when down the field at Chepstow in October but off the track since. Runner-up in 2m4f Plate at Cheltenham Festival last March; could leave reappearance behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Harper's Brook |
9/2(+31%) | (6) Harper's Brook 9/2, Has his quirks but has plenty of ability and got off the mark for the season/for current yard under a cute ride at Wetherby last month. This more competitive but respected all the same. Not straightforward but given excellent ride by Kielan Woods to win at Wetherby; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Sans Bruit |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Sans Bruit 4/1, Ex-French gelding who ran out a fine winner of Red Rum Handicap at Aintree. Showed all his usual zip when third in Haldon Gold Cup on return and not disgraced when filling same spot behind Martator at Ascot. Did too much too soon at Kempton since and can bounce back. Won the Red Rum at Aintree last April; set off too fast when pulled up at Kempton latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Editeur Du Gite |
33/1(-230%) | (3) Editeur Du Gite 33/1, Bold-jumping front runner who landed Desert Orchid Chase for second consecutive season 13 months ago. Not been in anything like the same form in 6 subsequent runs, however, including when bidding for his third win in Desert Orchid Chase latest. A long time since he's been competitive but excuses the last twice & is on a reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Arctic Bresil |
7/1(+30%) | (9) Arctic Bresil 7/1, From top Irish stable but remains a maiden over fences and stuffed all 3 starts this season. Return to form needed but from top Irish yard and he's on a tempting mark now back at 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) ![]() Etalon |
5/1(-11%) | (8) Etalon 5/1, Rapid improver sent chasing last term, winning first 3 starts before shaping better than bare result in Aintree Grade 1 on final start. Seemingly being brought along gradually this term, finishing a bit closer when fifth of 6 at Cheltenham (16.3f, good to soft) 5 weeks ago. Not one to rule out yet. Won three in a row last winter but below best on his three outings this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Another bold bid is expected from Matata following his latest second at Kelso, with the seven-year-old appearing to be a lot more tractable compared to his novice season. The mercurial Harper's Brook may well go very close if repeating the form of his Castleford success at Wetherby, with the track expected to suit, but a chance is given to SANS BRUIT. Last season's Red Rum winner went off far too quickly at Kempton over Christmas and an ease in grade on softer ground may see him bounce back.
MARTATOR's winning run came to an end in the Desert Orchid at Kempton but he can quickly get back on the scoresheet back down in class. Matata arrives at the top of his game and is feared most ahead of another prominent racer Sans Bruit.
A chance is taken on ARCTIC BRESIL, for whom a return to form is needed, but he's travelled from Ireland and could be on a good mark.

1st (11) ![]() Titan Discovery |
11/2(+54%) | (11) Titan Discovery 11/2, Successful twice (at up to 19.8f) last season and shaped better than bare result when seventh of 17 in hot handicap hurdle (9/1) at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) on return 99 days ago, travelling as well as any. Can make presence felt. Progressive at up to 2m5f last season and has hinted that 3m will be within range; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Push The Button |
16/1(-45%) | (5) Push The Button 16/1, Progressive in bumpers and 2-3 in novice hurdles at up to 21f last autumn. Off 11 months, creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at Cheltenham on return but followed it with a laboured display at Haydock. Headgear goes on. Pulled up last time but in demanding conditions; remains lightly raced and not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Jipcot |
11/2(-65%) | (6) Jipcot 11/2, Bounced back to very best, following a breathing operation, when readily winning 11-runner handicap hurdle at Newbury (20.5f, good to soft) 22 days ago. 8 lb higher now but must enter calculations. Powered clear to win over 2m4f at Newbury last time and an 8lb rise may not stop him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Deep Cave |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Deep Cave 18/1, Fairly useful hurdle and chase winner in France. Staying-on fifth at Cheltenham on last couple of starts but there's a chance this sharper track will catch him out. He's been a fair fifth at Cheltenham the last twice but needs something extra today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Gwennie May Boy |
9/4(+78%) | (2) Gwennie May Boy 9/4, Made it 3-3 for Dan Skelton with a useful performance to land a competitive staying handicap at the Aintree Grand National meeting in April, earning a further 11 lb rise for that victory. Good third at Carlisle on completed start this season and may not have reached his limit. Completed hat-trick last April and could build on last month's creditable 3rd at Carlisle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) ![]() Spike Jones |
20/1(+20%) | (12) Spike Jones 20/1, Dual Fontwell winner in 2022/23 season and successful return after 11 months off in 23f Lingfield handicap fitted with cheekpieces. Solid third at former course since and deserves respect. In pretty good heart this season but back up in grade and this could be too competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Hermino Aa |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Hermino Aa 14/1, Better than ever when making a winning reappearance at Newbury (3m) under Freddie Mitchell in November but couldn't match it when only fourth at Kempton and others appeal as being slightly better treated. Won over 3m at Newbury on reappearance; the drop back to 2m5f was against him last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) ![]() Samuel Spade |
20/1(-67%) | (9) Samuel Spade 20/1, Capitalised on the ease in grade when scoring at Huntingdon (20.5f) in March. Creditable placed efforts of late and can get competitive if jumping holds up. Running well in defeat over 2m3f-2m5f this season but stamina is the big question today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) ![]() Minella Missile |
14/1(-180%) | (3) Minella Missile 14/1, Successful on the second of 2 starts in Irish points and unbeaten in two starts as a novice hurdler last season, including the Hyde at Cheltenham 14 months ago. Concern that he's not been seen since but clearly has potential. Won Grade 2 novice hurdle in November 2023; absent since but has potential off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Dans Le Vent |
12/1(+14%) | (10) Dans Le Vent 12/1, Promising comeback this term before below-par run at Haydock in November. Much better when third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (23.6f, good to soft) 23 days ago and could get involved. Close third at Chepstow last month and he could be bang there once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) ![]() In Excelsis Deo |
28/1(-211%) | (4) In Excelsis Deo 28/1, Career best when winning the Cheltenham Silver Trophy in April. However, let down by jumping since. Returns to hurdling in slightly easier race, but there's still a bit to prove. Jumping issues over fences on last three starts; well treated on last spring's chase form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) ![]() Git Maker |
15/2(-7%) | (8) Git Maker 15/2, Tough and likeable chaser who ended last season with an excellent effort in Scottish National (third) at Ayr. Lower in the weights over hurdles back from 9 months off but may be using this as a preparation to go back over fences. 3rd in Scottish National last April; off since but 6lb lower for hurdles & goes well fresh. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Gwennie May Boy progressed at a rapid rate of knots last season, culminating at Aintree in the spring with a dominant performance. Having fallen early on at Haydock on his reappearance, he may well have just needed his subsequent outing when third at Carlisle and it wouldn't be a surprise if he had more to come. The returning Minella Missile is a fascinating contender on his handicap debut, while stepping up in trip is an interesting move for Samuel Spade. PUSH THE BUTTON was pulled up in the aforementioned Haydock contest but he appeared to have valid excuses on that occasion and he remains with potential, especially in first-time cheekpieces, so gets the nod.
JIPCOT cruised into contention before readily settling matters at Newbury last time and he's worth a chance to follow up for all that there's some stern opposition in the shape of Minella Missile and the likeable Gwennie May Boy.
A few of these need to prove their stamina but that certainly isn't the case with the 12yo DANS LE VENT, who ran really well last time.

1st (5) ![]() Protektorat |
10/3(-21%) | (5) Protektorat 10/3, Back to winning ways in the Ryanair at the Cheltenham Festival in March. Backed that up when 2½ lengths third to Jonbon at Aintree and, with reappearance behind him, ran well behind Djelo in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon last time. Not sure to turn the tables, though. No match for Djelo in the Peterborough Chase but this class act can't be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Djelo |
5/4(+64%) | (1) Djelo 5/4, Fast-improving chaser who built on a highly encouraging reappearance at Exeter when cruising to success at the expense of Protektorat in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon last time. On worse terms with that rival now but fancied to uphold the form. Easy win in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase last time and he's respected now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Journey With Me |
11/2(+31%) | (2) Journey With Me 11/2, Very smart chaser. Off 7 months, 11/1, 35½ lengths sixth of 8 to Fact To File in John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase at Punchestown (19.7f, good to soft) 56 days ago. This is easier, so not without hope. Won Grade 2 over extended 2m3f at Fairyhouse last April; this trip may be a good fit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Indiana Dream |
9/1(+18%) | (7) Indiana Dream 9/1, Unbeaten in three runs to date, including a bumper, maiden hurdle and a Navan novice chase. Looked an exciting prospect so well worth monitoring in the betting for new stable after 13 months off. Made it 3-3 when impressive on chase debut in December 2023 but he's been absent since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Tommie Beau |
150/1(-127%) | (8) Tommie Beau 150/1, Landed 3 of his first 4 starts at Cartmel this term and followed up with some solid efforts. Took the wrong course when contesting a Cross Country at Cheltenham before again failing to complete at Sandown 43 days ago. Tough ask. Highly admirable 10yo with strike rate of 14-42 but looks set to be outclassed today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Ahoy Senor |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Ahoy Senor 5/1, Not a fluent jumper of fences but top-class on his day and shaped as if as good as ever when third in Old Roan at Aintree on return, leaving the impression he'd have pushed the winner closer had he been asked for his effort sooner. Too free in the Betfair Chase since and can bounce back. Beaten on last ten starts and pulled up last time but has the form to play a leading role. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Protektorat is building up towards a defence of his Ryanair crown at Cheltenham and clearly needed his return in the Paddy Power Gold Cup before finding Huntingdon too sharp when chasing home DJELO in the Peterborough Chase. However, Dan Skelton's charge will need to be close to his peak to stop a rival who produced a career-best display and has the scope for further improvement. The step up in trip is a slight unknown, but the tight nature of the track should be in his favour. Ahoy Senor could be very dangerous in receipt of 8lb.
DJELO easily accounted for Protektorat in the Peterborough last time and, although 3 lb worse off with that rival now, he's expected to confirm his authority with the scope for better again. An on-song Ahoy Senor would be a big danger.
This can go to the progressive 7yo DJELO (nap), who was extremely impressive in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon last month.

1st (11) ![]() Planned Paradise |
25/1(-14%) | (11) Planned Paradise 25/1, Perth winner in July and in decent form until pulled up at Fakenham (2m5f) four weeks ago. Needs to get back on track. Good third at Cheltenham in November but latest run was poor and good ground suits best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Fortunate Man |
11/5(+51%) | (2) Fortunate Man 11/5, Highly progressive sort who got off the mark over fences in 7-runner handicap chase at Aintree (25f, soft) 24 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Up 5 lb but big shout with few miles still on the clock. Off the mark over fences at Aintree on Boxing Day; up in trip with headgear added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() From The Ashes |
9/1(-50%) | (4) From The Ashes 9/1, On a long losing run and pulled up in handicap chase at Punchestown (19.7f, soft) 19 days ago. Others appeal more than this Irish challenger. Looked badly out of sorts on both starts last month but still worth a check in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Zertakt |
9/2(+10%) | (8) Zertakt 9/2, Landed 3 of his 6 starts in France. Lightly raced for this yard and has shaped like a stayer when a solid third in handicaps here and at Newbury (22f) last month. Very much one to consider stepping up further in distance. 0-4 in Britain but was placed twice last month (2m4f/2m6f); tries a new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Art Decco |
12/1(-167%) | (1) Art Decco 12/1, Resumed his progress on his return when narrowly failing to complete a four-timer in 30f handicap chase at Exeter last month. Can go well again despite a 5 lb rise. Ended last season with three wins and continued progress with good second last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Yippee Ki Yay |
22/1(+12%) | (5) Yippee Ki Yay 22/1, Lightly-raced winner who has been off the track since landing a 3m2f hunter chase at Kelso in May. Still much respected now going into handicaps. 2-4 in hunter chases last spring but has more on his plate on this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Minella Blueway |
10/1(+0%) | (9) Minella Blueway 10/1, Winning Irish pointer/hurdler who has improved with each of his three runs in this sphere, staying-on second of 5 in 3m Windsor handicap chase 35 days ago. Interesting now his stamina is drawn out more. Close second over 3m here last month but this race is more competitive; new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) ![]() Not Sure |
15/2(+63%) | (10) Not Sure 15/2, Off 9 months before a fading fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Hereford (25.2f, soft) 29 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces now and this fairly useful 3m winner can't be ruled out. Made low-key reappearance last month but stays well and has slipped to a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) ![]() Just Over Land |
10/1(+17%) | (6) Just Over Land 10/1, A fairly useful 2m hurdles winner who has made a solid start in this sphere, coming in fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (21.5f, heavy) 31 days ago. Possibilities if his stamina holds out here. Second over 2m on chase debut; not quite in same form twice since; hiked up in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Regatta De Blanc |
14/1(-87%) | (3) Regatta De Blanc 14/1, Dual chase winner who wasn't disgraced when fourth of 13 in handicap chase at Hereford (25.2f, soft) 29 days ago, despite going in snatches. Not ruled out eased 1 lb. Fourth in competitive mares' race last month; could have untapped potential over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Animal |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Animal 14/1, Scored at Sandown last December but ended last season below par, seventh of 9 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (25.3f) final run. Has gone well fresh though so possibilities on return. Thorough stayer; absent since poor run last April but resumes on a good mark; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ART DECCO offered plenty of encouragement when touched off on his seasonal debut at Exeter. Robert Walford's charge is now 5lb higher, but drew 16 lengths clear of the third and compensation may beckon. The lightly-raced Fortunate Man arrives on the back of his first triumph in this discipline at Aintree and, up in distance, he's feared most. Regatta De Blanc is another who might find improvement now faced with a stiffer test and also enters calculations.
A case can be made for a few of these but FORTUNATE MAN still looks ahead of his mark despite taking a 5 lb rise for his Aintree victory so gets the vote. Both Zertakt and Minella Blueway should find this step up in trip to their benefit and can ensure the selection doesn't have things all his own way though. Top-weight Art Decco completes the shortlist in an intriguing handicap.
Progressive 6yo FORTUNATE MAN came good over fences with a 3m1f win at Aintree last month and can improve again over marathon trips.

![]() Sinnatra |
(5) 11/4(+21%) | (5) Sinnatra 11/4, Looked a good prospect when bagging 13-runner bumper (5/4) at Chepstow (16f, good) on debut 58 days ago with plenty in hand. Very much one to consider for leading yard. Hot favourite when winning easily on debut at Chepstow and he could be one to follow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Idaho Sun |
(2) 7/2(+71%) | (2) Idaho Sun 7/2, 9/2, made a winning start in 10-runner bumper at Newton Abbot (16.8f, soft) on NH debut 81 days ago by short head from Supreme Malinas. Looked green there so very much one to consider with better to come. Narrowly beat subsequent Listed winner Supreme Malinas to win on debut at Newton Abbot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Supreme Malinas |
(11) 7/2(+0%) | (11) Supreme Malinas 7/2, Irish point winner who landed 8-runner listed bumper at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy, 5/2) 42 days ago by 1¼ lengths from Roses All The Way. Well on top at the finish there so she's a player. Won Listed mares' bumper at Huntingdon; back against males today but could be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gnomon |
(12) 6/1(+20%) | (12) Gnomon 6/1, Represents top Flat stable and created an excellent impression when making a successful start in Exeter bumper in October. Failed to get home when sixth in listed bumper at Cheltenham (16.8f, soft) 18 days ago and remains with potential. 4yo; impressed on debut at Exeter but held in Listed race at Cheltenham subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() A Boy The Kid |
(6) 8/1(+20%) | (6) A Boy The Kid 8/1, Dam, lightly raced in bumpers, is a half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (2m-2½m winner) Johnnywho. Irish challenger can't be ruled out, especially if the market vibes are positive. Thrown into hot race on debut; Irish yard's British runners are always worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Legal Weapon |
(3) 10/1(-25%) | (3) Legal Weapon 10/1, 2/1, won 12-runner bumper at Warwick (16f, soft) on NH debut 38 days ago. Needs to build on it if he's to contend here though. Won by a neck on debut at Warwick; others have stronger form but he's open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Long Walk |
(10) 14/1(+36%) | (10) The Long Walk 14/1, Has gone with promise when placed in a pair of bumpers, staying on well when second of 7 at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy, 13/8) on latter occasion. Capable of better still. Went close at Ffos Las on second start but a leap of improvement is needed today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Kocktail Bleu |
(8) 28/1(+58%) | (8) Kocktail Bleu 28/1, €48,000 3-y-o, €54,000 4-y-o, Magneticjim gelding. Half-brother to French chaser Evidence Bleue. Placed in Irish points so he's a respected newcomer. Ability in points but thrown in at deep end on this bumper debut; may be best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sangpoursangamoi |
(9) 66/1(-32%) | (9) Sangpoursangamoi 66/1, 11/4, shaped well when fourth of 8 in bumper at Hereford (16.2f, good to soft) on debut 53 days ago. Possibilities. Possible improver but didn't show enough when fourth on debut to be of interest here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Away For The Night |
(7) 80/1(-60%) | (7) Away For The Night 80/1, 22/1, encouraging third of 8 in bumper at Market Rasen (16.6f, soft) on NH debut 45 days ago. Can take a step forward. Third at Market Rasen; open to improvement but sizeable chunk needed in this hot contest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Plenty of future prospects on show and a tentative vote is for debut winner EL CAIROS. The son of No Risk At All impressed with his turn of foot when drawing clear of his rivals in the closing stages at Newbury in November and he looks capable of successfully shouldering a 4lb penalty. Supreme Malinas landed a Listed mares' bumper at Huntingdon last month and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Southwell scorer One Knight.
Lots of potential on show here, not least from Paul Nicholls' SINNATRA who created a good impression when making a winning debut at Chepstow and can hit the right note again to go 2-2. Dan Skelton's mare Supreme Malinas has the form to play a big part, while Gnomon, Idaho Sun and El Cairos all need factoring into this useful bumper too.
Having powered clear to win on his debut at Chepstow in November, SINNATRA is taken to make it 2-2. One Knight is a danger.
Ths is the racecard key.
