1st (1) (9/2 -29%) Nordic Tiger |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Nordic Tiger 9/2, French import who posted best effort to date for current yard when third in handicap at Lingfield (16f) in December. Not in same form at Taunton since but can't be ruled out. Underwhelming latest effort but this lightly raced 5yo remains a horse of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (66/1 -164%) Bellamy's Grey |
66/1(-164%) | (11) Bellamy's Grey 66/1, Just 1 win from 30 NH runs and finished well held on return at Exeter 50 days ago. Best watched from 5 lb out of the handicap. Veteran with a poor strike-rate and finished tailed off after a break at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (8/1 +43%) Maroochi |
8/1(+43%) | (7) Maroochi 8/1, Deservedly shed maiden tag when dead heating at Newton Abbot (21.5f, good to soft) in September 2022 but hasn't scored since and recent efforts have been below par. 1m7f would have been too sharp here last time but she was poor the time before over 2m5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/3 -77%) Country Lady |
10/3(-77%) | (3) Country Lady 10/3, Won a bumper at Plumpton in April and ran with promise in both starts over timber, latest when third of 7 in novice at this course (21.4f, heavy) 51 days ago. Likely more to come on handicap debut. This lightly raced mare should progress for her top yard now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (40/1 -150%) Irlandais |
40/1(-150%) | (10) Irlandais 40/1, Half-brother to bumper winner/useful 2¼m hurdle winner Grand Jury but hasn't offered much in 2 runs over hurdles for Dan Skelton and for his current yard. 5 lb wrong on handicap debut. Lasted just two races with Dan Skelton and has shown nothing in two runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/3 +52%) Tribesmans Glory |
10/3(+52%) | (6) Tribesmans Glory 10/3, Fair winning chaser for Tom George in 2020. Lightly raced since but posted creditable efforts both starts over hurdles this term, latest when third of 14 in handicap at this course (15.2f) last month. Respected. Placed over 1m7f here the last time and this trip should suit him better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (66/1 -65%) Mr Sociable |
66/1(-65%) | (8) Mr Sociable 66/1, Well held in 3 outings back from a long absence last winter and no more encouragement in either outing this term. Hard to make a case for. 3 lb out of the handicap. Flattered by his standout piece of form and has offered little in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (11/2 +0%) The Plimsoll Line |
11/2(+0%) | (2) The Plimsoll Line 11/2, Good second in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in May but he hasn't shown much spark since, including over fences the last twice. Chasing of late; inconsistent but he has placed form off higher marks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (20/1 -43%) Bala Brook |
20/1(-43%) | (5) Bala Brook 20/1, Runner-up in 21.5f Newton Abbot maiden/novice events on his first 2 outings over hurdles but hasn't built on that and has something to prove at present. Some promise on good and reportedly found good to soft too slow the last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (14/1 -40%) Freddie Fleetfoot |
14/1(-40%) | (9) Freddie Fleetfoot 14/1, Appeared to take a step forward when runner-up from a long way out of the weights at Taunton (19f, good to soft) in December, for all that he failed to land a glove on the wide-margin winner. Not so far out of the weights here but is still looking for first success. Ran surprisingly well from 22lb out of the weights when upsides Nordic Tiger at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (7/1 +50%) Universal Secret |
7/1(+50%) | (4) Universal Secret 7/1, Dual course winner (both 15.2f) last season but yet to fire in a trio of starts this term. Tries longer trip now and has fallen to an attractive mark. Dual course winner but hasn't offered a great deal in his last four outings. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Deteriorating ground conditions might have been the undoing of COUNTRY LADY when third at this venue in December. Back on a sounder surface, and pitched into a handicap for the first time, it would come as no surprise were Paul Nicholls' mare to take a step forward today. Tribesmans Glory kept on at the one pace over 1m7f here last month and the son of Jeremy can post an improved effort returned to further, while Nordic Tiger is also noted.
COUNTRY LADY remains open to improvement and looks fairly treated on her handicap bow. She is taken to land the opener. Tribesmans Glory and Nordic Tiger can also make their presence felt.
Paul Nicholls' mare COUNTRY LADY should be capable of paying her way off this sort of mark in handicaps.

1st (10) (13/8 +60%) Larchmont Lass |
13/8(+60%) | (10) Larchmont Lass 13/8, Useful form in bumpers, including a Sandown listed win in March. Yet to match that over hurdles but could show more now upped in trip. Not really progressed over hurdles but she's a Listed bumper winner and still early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (13) (40/1 -100%) Time In The Sun |
40/1(-100%) | (13) Time In The Sun 40/1, Came close to opening account at second attempt in bumpers last spring but went the wrong way from hurdling debut when last of 13 at Market Rasen (20.5f, good to soft) a couple of months ago, possibly amiss. Has ability but flopped at Market Rasen and others have stronger credentials. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/1 -167%) Brave Jen |
6/1(-167%) | (5) Brave Jen 6/1, Showed improved and fairly useful form when narrowly denied in a 2m course listed event at Newbury in December and didn't have much chance in the Challow there last time. Worth a chance to open her account back down in grade. Second in a Listed race before getting outclassed in the Challow; strong form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/1 +8%) Baby Shally |
11/1(+8%) | (2) Baby Shally 11/1, Point winner who made a successful start in this sphere in 7-runner C&D novice at Wincanton in December. Only fifth at Huntingdon since and might struggle with her penalty again. Couldn't defy the penalty at Huntingdon (2m4f, good to soft) but didn't run at all badly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (25/1 -150%) Saunton Surf |
25/1(-150%) | (12) Saunton Surf 25/1, Easy winner of a point/Aintree bumper for Bradley Gibbs and did well in the circumstances when runner-up on Ludlow hurdling debut (21.3f) after 5 months off. Failed to build on that at Newcastle since, though. Two bumper wins (one a point version); second on hurdle debut; soft an excuse latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (66/1 -313%) Imperial Jade |
66/1(-313%) | (3) Imperial Jade 66/1, Progressed with each start over hurdles last term, ending campaign with victory in 6-runner juvenile at Chepstow. Disappointing so far this season, though, and has a bit to find. Vulnerable in this company if judged on this season's defeats in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/2 +10%) Betty's Tiara |
9/2(+10%) | (4) Betty's Tiara 9/2, Promising individual. Winner in bumper at Stratford in August. 11/4, second of 12 in novice at Hereford (21.7f, soft) on hurdles bow 28 days ago, running on. Should improve. Did well to finish second on hurdling debut given how novicey her jumping was. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (33/1 -175%) Asian Spice |
33/1(-175%) | (1) Asian Spice 33/1, Showed much-improved form on her handicap bow when landing 16-runner event at Exeter 67 days ago, holding on gamely after making her move around the entire field. Faces a stiff task at the weights back in novice company, however. Returning to novice company under a double penalty asks a big question of her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (18/1 +10%) Dairylane Daisy |
18/1(+10%) | (7) Dairylane Daisy 18/1, Successful on her sole outing in points and offered something to work on when sixth of 13 in a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen (20.6f, good to soft, 7/1) on Rules debut 77 days ago. Should do better. Irish point winner; ran perfectly well to be beaten 11l in a 2m4f hurdle at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (33/1 -32%) Butterflycollector |
33/1(-32%) | (6) Butterflycollector 33/1, Related to numerous winners but only sixth in a bumper at this track and looks more of a long-term project. Ran well in the bumper on this card 12 months ago, finishing behind two of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (7/2 +30%) Goodtimecrew |
7/2(+30%) | (8) Goodtimecrew 7/2, Fair bumper winner who has run to a similar level in finding only one too good both starts over hurdles in November. Upped significantly in trip now. Second in both hurdles; this longer trip should suit one with a pointing background. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (66/1 -230%) Von Hallers |
66/1(-230%) | (14) Von Hallers 66/1, Winner of the second of her 2 starts between the flags but yet to complete in two outings over hurdles, so bit to prove. Point winner and it could be that she's yet to do herself justice under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (250/1 -150%) Love Of Neymore |
250/1(-150%) | (11) Love Of Neymore 250/1, Little show in bumpers and has 22-month absence to overcome (has also left Martin Keighley). Beaten just under 30l in two bumpers for Martin Keighley; absent since April of 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (400/1 -300%) Gypsy Hill |
400/1(-300%) | (9) Gypsy Hill 400/1, Finished down the field in a couple of bumpers last term and no better in a novice at Exeter on hurdling debut. No worthwhile form in two bumpers and a maiden hurdle, trying different headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BRAVE JEN was touched off in a Listed event on her penultimate outing and although subsequently pulled up in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury, she looks to have been found a golden opportunity eased in class. Larchmont Lass is another that should benefit from a drop in grade and must feature prominently in calculations, along with Goodtimecrew and Betty's Tiara. Asian Spice goes in search of her hat-trick having notched a brace of Exeter handicap wins in November, but this looks tougher under a double penalty.
Having shaped well on hurdling debut, BRAVE JEN was pitched in too deep last time, so she's capable of getting off the mark back in calmer waters. Betty's Tiara is open to improvement and looks a feasible danger, while Larchmont Lass could feature if the longer trip brings more out of her.
The Challow was always going to be a big ask for BRAVE JEN and the form of her previous second in a Listed race earns her the vote.

1st (7) (7/4 +0%) Steel Ally |
7/4(+0%) | (7) Steel Ally 7/4, Unlucky not to make a winning start over hurdles at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) in November (landed very awkwardly at the last). Proved a let-down over the same C&D a month later but he's far from one to be writing off. Unlucky not to win on hurdling debut; latest run in December was too bad to be true. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 -7%) Dartmoor Pirate |
15/8(-7%) | (1) Dartmoor Pirate 15/8, Finished midfield in pair of well-contested bumpers but looked considerably better prospect when making winning hurdles debut over C&D in December. No match for an exciting prospect at Huntingdon since but he remains the type to do better. C&D winner who then bumped into a top prospect in Tellherthename at Huntingdon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (33/1 -230%) Manuelito |
33/1(-230%) | (10) Manuelito 33/1, Cracksman half-brother to smart hurdler Navajo Pass (2m-2½m winner). Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Richard Hannon, well held last time. Feasible to think he could have a future in this sphere and worth noting if market vibes are positive. Looked ordinary in seven defeats for Richard Hannon, from 7f to 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (80/1 -21%) Galactic Jack |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Galactic Jack 80/1, Useful on Flat for Andrew Balding and whilst he's yet to feature over hurdles there were some signs of encouragement despite being pulled up in a Kempton juvenile (2m) 3 weeks ago. Not one to write off but handicaps could be more his bag. Two Flat wins for Andrew Balding; has been poor under both codes for current connections. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/3 +45%) Salvatore |
10/3(+45%) | (6) Salvatore 10/3, Useful on Flat for Peter Schiergen in 2022 (won 2 of his 4 starts) and showed some promise on belated return/hurdles debut for new yard when seventh of 18 in maiden at Newbury (16.3f) in December, looked after when chance had gone. Likely to improve. Dual 1m4f winner; had a long absence prior to his 7th on hurdling debut at Newbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (40/1 -233%) Paddy In The Caddy |
40/1(-233%) | (5) Paddy In The Caddy 40/1, £55,000 buy after finishing runner-up on his sole start in Irish points in May. However, finished well held when tenth of 16 in novice hurdle on Rules debut at Exeter (18.5f) on New Year's Day. Second in his point; perhaps resented the heavy ground when tailed off at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (15/2 -50%) American Land |
15/2(-50%) | (2) American Land 15/2, Placed both starts in bumpers and promising hurdles introduction when third in a big-field Warwick novice (2m, soft) last winter. Shaped as if needing his reappearance run when fourth at Exeter (18.5f) in October and undergone wind surgery since. Tongue strap on 1st time. Showed ability in all runs; had wind op and now tongue tied; has a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -371%) Kentucky Bluegrass |
66/1(-371%) | (9) Kentucky Bluegrass 66/1, Fairly useful dual winner on Flat (stays 1¼m), signing off time with David O'Meara with a creditable fourth at Ayr (10f) in October. 22,000 gns acquisition later that month and market may prove a useful guide now attentions switch to hurdling. Hood on 1st time. Dual 7f winner for David O'Meara for whom he raced eight times (stayed 1m2f on heavy). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (50/1 +24%) Hawk Stone |
50/1(+24%) | (3) Hawk Stone 50/1, Has shown signs of ability in 2 bumpers/first of 2 starts in maiden/novice hurdles this term. However, low-grade handicaps more likely to be his bag. Closest he's come was the 16l he was behind Dartmoor Pirate here on his penultimate run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
DARTMOOR PIRATE must concede weight all round having landed a C&D maiden in December, but he found only a now 135-rated rival too strong at Huntingdon last month and looks the one to beat. Steel Ally was unable to do himself justice after pulling too hard on heavy ground at Ffos Las, though he is unlikely to be far away here if settling better. Kentucky Bluegrass boasts some solid Flat form and warrants respect now switched to hurdles.
STEEL ALLY weakened out of things pretty quickly when last seen at Ffos Las in December yet, he'd previously shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up on his hurdles debut at that venue in November (despite bad mistake last) and is worth another chance to get back on track. C&D winner Dartmoor Pirate rates the chief threat, ahead of Salvatore and American Land.
Dartmoor Pirate probably has less on his plate than at Huntingdon last time but he may struggle to concede 6lb to STEEL ALLY.

1st (2) (2/13 +63%) Fire Flyer |
2/13(+63%) | (2) Fire Flyer 2/13, Well-bred gelding who showed useful form in bumpers and shaped with plenty of encouragement sent hurdling when runner-up to a smart prospect at Newbury (20.5f) in December. Sure to improve and will take all the beating. Second to smart horses on his last two starts and he should be winning this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 -13%) Thank You Ma'am |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Thank You Ma'am 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden who has acquitted himself well the last twice, latest when second of 11 in novice hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, soft) 37 days ago. Likely to be in the mix again. Might not be good enough to trouble Fire Flyer but he looks very solid each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (150/1 -127%) Basman Palace |
150/1(-127%) | (7) Basman Palace 150/1, Offered something to work on when fifth in bumper at Newton Abbot in July but rather gone backwards since, including in 2 hurdles in recent months. Has yet to get remotely competitive and can't be fancied to beat the best of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 +0%) Zhang Fei |
10/1(+0%) | (6) Zhang Fei 10/1, Fair winner on Flat who has joined a yard enjoying a fine season. Worth a second look in the market on hurdles debut. Useful ability, has no stamina issues for hurdling and has joined a respected yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (100/1 -100%) Bruce Gobbler |
100/1(-100%) | (1) Bruce Gobbler 100/1, Last of 4 sole start in point bumpers and well beaten all 3 starts under Rules to date. Has trailed in tailed off in three runs for this yard, the last two hurdles at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (22/1 -120%) Johannes |
22/1(-120%) | (9) Johannes 22/1, Fair form when successful in 2m minor event on the Flat in France last spring but failed to land a blow starting out over hurdles for new connections at Exeter in November and was very disappointing (following a wind operation) at Taunton last month. Plenty to prove now. Flat winner; disappointing in both his hurdles either side of wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (50/1 -52%) Hadley Park |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Hadley Park 50/1, Fair but temperamental handicapper on the Flat for George Boughey. Offered little in a couple of hurdle outings for current yard last summer. 1-9 on the Flat; underwhelming start over hurdles and perhaps one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (150/1 -50%) Our Nobby |
150/1(-50%) | (3) Our Nobby 150/1, Didn't offer much in pair of bumpers for Tom George during early 2022 and similar story in 2 hurdles for current yard this winter. Has shown precious little in two West Country hurdles and was triple-digit odds for both. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
It is difficult to look past FIRE FLYER on the back of a highly encouraging hurdling debut effort at Newbury behind a subsequent Grade 2 scorer. A winner over a similar distance to this in bumpers, Paul Nicholls' charge should not be inconvenienced by the drop in trip and he sets the standard ahead of the likes of Johannes and Thank You Ma'am, who seems to be improving.
FIRE FLYER made a promising start in this sphere at Newbury in December and has been found a good opportunity to open his account here. Thank You Ma'am looks the obvious danger on form, whilst fair Flat performer Zhang Fei warrants respect on his first crack over hurdles.
This looks a golden opportunity for FIRE FLYER to get his head back in front after chasing home smart horses on his last two starts.

1st (1) (11/1 -214%) Quick Draw |
11/1(-214%) | (1) Quick Draw 11/1, Scored twice over hurdles for Tom Lacey and made it 3 wins in this sphere for Nicky Henderson when making all on return at Ludlow (23.8f, good to soft) in October. Laboured run next time and has had a 3-month break since. Made all at Ludlow but couldn't lead at Cheltenham and disappointed; better expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/1 -17%) Manothepeople |
7/1(-17%) | (2) Manothepeople 7/1, Dual chase winner last term who returned with a very good second of 11 in 3m Exeter handicap (soft) in October. Didn't get very far at Ascot next time but latest run here was rather disconcerting. Never got involved at Doncaster last month but in a deep race and this isn't so demanding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/4 +45%) Copperhead |
11/4(+45%) | (6) Copperhead 11/4, Not the force of old but there have been signs of life this season, including when third in handicap at Ascot a couple of months ago. C&D winner who shouldn't be ruled out. All his chase wins have been over 3m+ so it was a good run over 2m5f at Ascot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (14/1 -87%) Fidux |
14/1(-87%) | (5) Fidux 14/1, Not the force of old but was a decent second back from a break in veterans event under this rider at this course last month. Respected from unchanged mark. Second in a veterans' chase latest; may need to find something on that to go one better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (9/2 +18%) Jacamar |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Jacamar 9/2, Won around this time last year and has been holding his form this term, proving his stamina for this trip when second at Plumpton last time. Respected. Has got himself well handicapped and been narrowly denied in two of his last three races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 -100%) Lord Accord |
12/1(-100%) | (3) Lord Accord 12/1, Failed to build on his Cheltenham win early last season and has run poorly all 3 starts this term, going with little fluency at Doncaster last time. Others preferred. Back on a favourable mark but this season has yet to get off the ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (2/1 +43%) Take Your Time |
2/1(+43%) | (4) Take Your Time 2/1, Promising type who has won both his starts over fences, latest in convincing fashion over C&D (heavy) 51 days ago. 8 lb higher now but another bold bid is on the cards. Unbeaten in both chase starts; up 8lb for winning a weak race here but still respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Slight preference is for MANOTHEPEOPLE, who has not shown much in his last two starts but ran very well on his first start of the season at Exeter. Tom Broughton's 7lb claim is a help and he may be able to regain some of his early chasing form from last season. An easy winner over C&D last time out, albeit on heavy ground, Take Your Time can give him the most to think about, ahead of Jacamar.
TAKE YOUR TIME has relished the switch to chasing this season and looks well capable of maintaining his unbeaten record in this sphere. The in-form Jacamar is unexposed over this trip and could pose the main threat, while veteran Copperhead isn't without hope.
The 10yo COPPERHEAD (nap) is beginning to look a horse ready to exploit his reduced mark and returning to further has to be a plus.

1st (6) (12/1 -33%) Quintin's Man |
12/1(-33%) | (6) Quintin's Man 12/1, Multiple point winner who made a good start to his hunter career last spring, second at Exeter before scoring at Cheltenham. Only fifth at Stratford 8 months ago but ran respectably between the flags recently. Won at Cheltenham last May; beaten in recent points but he'll be running on at the finish. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 -275%) Lalor |
3/1(-275%) | (1) Lalor 3/1, Smart chaser when last seen, producing a career-best effort to land a 5-runner handicap at Newbury 22 months ago. Sets a clear standard on hunter debut. Classy on his day; interesting to see what the market makes of him after so long out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/4 +44%) Goose Man |
9/4(+44%) | (7) Goose Man 9/4, Useful chaser for Tom Taaffe who was able to defy a lay-off of fully 32 months to win selling handicap hurdle on the bridle at Huntingdon in November. Respectable run in much tougher race back chasing at Newbury following month and very much one to consider on first go in hunters. Ran well in a good 2m4f handicap last time; stays this far and stable is in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/2 +31%) Wick Green |
11/2(+31%) | (3) Wick Green 11/2, Fairly useful chaser with a consistent record for this stable, facing a stiff task from out of the weights when eighth in a Cheltenham handicap last time. Needs to up his game trying hunters for the first time. Two good runs in handicaps before running well on Cheltenham's cross-country course. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (16/1 -100%) Myth Buster |
16/1(-100%) | (5) Myth Buster 16/1, One-time useful chaser (for Henry de Bromhead) and landed a Musselburgh hunter in February 2022. Mixed bag since, both in this sphere and between the flags, but each-way shout if the first-time blinkers have the desired effect. Could go well, though it's a bit late in the day to be trying new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (4/1 +60%) Polish |
4/1(+60%) | (8) Polish 4/1, Runner-up first 5 starts upon rejoining this yard, including over fences at Worcester and Uttoxeter in September. Not at best last twice but return to shorter trip should help on hunter debut. Modest overall strike-rate and may be found wanting on hunter chase debut. |

|PU| (4) (14/1 +30%) Lakota Warrior |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Lakota Warrior 14/1, Fairly useful chaser. Bit below form fourth of 11 in hunter chase at Taunton (21.7f, soft, 50/1) 24 days ago. Has plenty to find in this company. It was a useful hunter chase in which he was beaten only 11l at Taunton recently. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Grade 1-winning hurdler LALOR makes his hunter chase bow after a 670-day layoff and the veteran could have too much class for these rivals. Paul Nicholls' charge was last seen dominating a class 2 handicap chase at Newbury and a reproduction of that performance would make him extremely tough to beat. Goose Man has race fitness on his side and may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Wick Green.
LALOR has an absence of almost two years to overcome but, if he retains the bulk of his ability, he should outclass his rivals here. Goose Man is the solid alternative if the selection isn't on his game and Wick Green should give his running again.
The market can guide with Lalor. WICK GREEN has been holding his own in some good handicaps and he's preferred to Goose Man.

150/1(-127%) | (1) A Twist Of Time 150/1, 22/1, tenth of 11 in bumper at Plumpton (17.8f, good to soft) on NH debut 45 days ago. Beaten long way at Plumpton in December; opposed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Northern Symphonie failed to build on her promising second at Newbury in December when only mustering a seventh-placed finish at Warwick the following month. With several interesting newcomers on show, it may pay to look elsewhere and NOTORIOUS PINK edges the vote. The Martaline mare, a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed chaser One For The Team, ticks plenty of the right boxes. She may have enough speed to fend off fellow debutant Jubilee Alpha, who warrants respect representing Paul Nicholls.
This can go to a newcomer, with JUBILEE ALPHA preferred over Notorious Pink and I've Madeupmymind before market clues.
Most of the newcomers are interesting, particularly JUBILEE ALPHA and Notorious Pink. The betting should give further guidance.
Ths is the racecard key.
