1st (7) (6/4 +55%) Just Call Me Lucy |
6/4(+55%) | (7) Just Call Me Lucy 6/4, Related to a point winner and bolted up on second bumper start at Carlisle (17f, soft) a year ago. Fared as well as could be expected when mid-field in Grade 2 company at Aintree but sent off odds-on, she failed to deliver on last month's hurdles bow. Showed more over 2m here last time. Bumper form reads better than hurdle form but she's in the mix over this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (20/1 -25%) Wendywilldo |
20/1(-25%) | (11) Wendywilldo 20/1, Bit of promise when making the frame in a Catterick bumper on debut and stepped forward from that effort when winning at Sedgefield (16.8f, heavy) in March. Could never land a blow on hurdles debut over 2m but this trip more suitable. Sedgefield bumper winner; not that competitive on her switch to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (9/2 -13%) Parisian Fashion |
9/2(-13%) | (9) Parisian Fashion 9/2, €40,000 5-y-o, Champs Elysees mare. Sister to point bumper/bumper winner Phantom Gold. Dam, multiple bumper winner, also useful 2m/17f hurdle winner. Successful on last of 4 starts in Irish points and pitched in quite deep, she showed something to work on at Haydock 3 weeks ago. Outpaced on hurdle debut at Haydock but that was a good race over 1m7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/2 +15%) I Am The Moon |
11/2(+15%) | (3) I Am The Moon 11/2, Pether's Moon mare. Dam (h142) bumper/2m-21f hurdle winner. Stuck to her task pretty well in a brace of bumpers and step up in trip should suit now hurdling. Likeable second run in bumpers; this longer trip over hurdles should be more her thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (100/1 -400%) Isabel De Clare |
100/1(-400%) | (4) Isabel De Clare 100/1, £28,000 3-y-o, Passing Glance filly. Half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Pique Rock and fair hurdler Blue Beach. Minor promise in bumpers 10 months apart. Showed a bit in her two bumpers, the latest here on turf debut; still looks vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (14/1 +13%) Pepite De Saphir |
14/1(+13%) | (10) Pepite De Saphir 14/1, Showed a bit when mid-field in a mares' bumper at Newbury a year and also displayed promise when fourth on hurdles debut at Market Rasen. That puts her in the mix. Ran on from an unpromising position to finish a 14l fourth on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (125/1 -150%) Jolie Maresca |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Jolie Maresca 125/1, €42,000 3-y-o, £25,000 5-y-o, Spanish Moon mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Via Maresca. Dam fairly useful 2¼m hurdle winner. Second of 3 finishers sole Irish point run in March but little short-term promise on Rules debut. Second in an Irish point; stopped quickly at Carlisle (2m3f, soft) when 300-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (28/1 +44%) Jessie Jump Jet |
28/1(+44%) | (5) Jessie Jump Jet 28/1, Fourth of 9 in a bumper on debut at Huntingdon in May and also offered something to work on when third in a Uttoxeter maiden hurdle (15.8f, good to soft) at the beginning of last month. Backward step at Doncaster since. Beaten 22l and tailed off in her two hurdle races, the latest at this distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 -127%) Genies Girl |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Genies Girl 150/1, Half-sister to bumper winner/fair 23f hurdle winner Olivers Travels. Signs of ability in bumpers but sent off a huge price and showed very little on last month's hurdles debut over 2m at this track. Just minor promise in bumpers prior to a heavy defeat on hurdle debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (11/4 -38%) Bellas Bridge |
11/4(-38%) | (1) Bellas Bridge 11/4, Successful sole outing in Irish points and built on encouraging Rules debut when landing a 9-runner event at Ludlow in January. Sound fifth in listed company 2 months later but just modest form on hurdles debut fitted with a tongue tie at Southwell in October. Since had a wind op and can improve. Useful bumper form; beaten fav on hurdle debut when outpaced over 2m; has had wind op. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The betting market should be informative, with Just Call Me Lucy, who has course experience, and Parisian Fashion, who should be wiser after her Rules introduction at Haydock 22 days ago, just a couple of notable options to consider. However, I AM THE MOON, whose dam, Midnight Tour, was runner-up in the Grade 1 Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham, has hinted at ability in bumpers and could be a different proposition with the longer trip looking ideal for her hurdles debut.
JUST CALL ME LUCY hasn't yet come close to her bumper form over hurdles but she'll know more this time and she really should be a big factor at this level. Bellas Bridge and Parisian Fashion are also likely improvers so are feared most.
This may go to BELLAS BRIDGE who had the respected Just Call Me Lucy behind when they clashed in a Listed bumper last season.

1st (4) (9/2 +63%) Empty Nest |
9/2(+63%) | (4) Empty Nest 9/2, Remains a maiden and merely closed up late over 21.1f at Sedgefield a month ago. Tongue strap on for first time. 11-race maiden who has had plenty of chances over fences (0-8) and he's not improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/1 -25%) Celestial Fashion |
5/1(-25%) | (3) Celestial Fashion 5/1, Opened her account in 17f conditionals handicap at Newcastle in March and caused a 28/1 surprise after 6 months off in 13-runner handicap at Ayr (19.5f, good to soft) in October. Switched to fences and continued the good work when runner-up at Hexham. Step back up in trip will suit. Second over 1m7f on chase debut; returning to this sort of trip looks the right move. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 +13%) Elusive Shine |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Elusive Shine 7/1, Made frame all 3 starts in Irish points and more like it when third in a novice hurdle at Market Rasen a month ago. Potential improver now handicapping over fences. Was placed in points so could make a better chaser; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (12/1 -60%) Samazul |
12/1(-60%) | (1) Samazul 12/1, Bumper winner who failed to score over hurdles but has the build for chasing and duly improved when opening account on return/debut over fences at Fontwell. Couple of heavy defeats since raise concerns and he's now fitted with blinkers. Blinkers would appear a cry for help but the ability to threaten is there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (2/1 -7%) Hawkseye View |
2/1(-7%) | (2) Hawkseye View 2/1, Point winner who improved when finishing second on third run over fences in a 9-runner Newcastle handicap (2½m, good) last month. May well have won granted a better jump at the final fence that day and this 5-y-o will have every chance if able to back that up here. Did well finish second at Newcastle after making mistakes; looks on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (4/1 -14%) Fiadh |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Fiadh 4/1, Modest 3m hurdles winner but has the size for chasing and made second start over the larger obstacles a winning one over C&D 3 weeks ago. Can be a factor again. Never far away when a game winner over C&D 19 days ago on just her second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (20/1 -100%) Bravethewaves |
20/1(-100%) | (7) Bravethewaves 20/1, Disappointing maiden over hurdles so hopes rest on switch to fences. Out of form but potentially well handicapped and he's making his chase debut here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CELESTIAL FASHION went up 8lb in the handicap after she made a winning return over hurdles at Ayr in October. She went down by a length back over fences at Hexham 15 days ago and, nudged up 2lb for that, the Ian Duncan-trained mare is still an attractive proposition with her willing attitude a key factor. Hawkseye View has scope to progress as a chaser and also needs considering, while recent C&D winner Fiadh completes the shortlist running off 6lb higher.
HAWKSEYE VIEW may well have opened his account without a final-fence mistake at Newcastle a month ago and with that in mind, a 2 lb rise looks very fair. Celestial Fashion and Fiadh also arrive in form, while Elusive Shine warrants a market check on chase/handicap debut.
If HAWKSEYE VIEW can find greater fluency than when running well at Newcastle then he looks handicapped to go very close, at the least.

1st (2) (12/1 +25%) Chasingouttheblues |
12/1(+25%) | (2) Chasingouttheblues 12/1, £22,000 purchase having finished placed all 4 starts in Irish points. Improved plenty for stiffer test of stamina when making second hurdles start a winning one at Hexham 6 weeks ago (20.1f). Well held under a penalty at Carlisle and now goes handicapping. Maiden winner; poor last time; doesn't look obviously well treated for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/2 -38%) Jazz King |
11/2(-38%) | (1) Jazz King 11/2, Looked a useful prospect when making a winning chase debut at Ludlow on final outing for Sam Thomas. Pulled up both starts over fences for new yard last season but showed ability remains back hurdling at the start of the summer and cashed in on a career-low mark at Hereford latest. Up 6lb for his hard-fought Hereford win but the runner-up has won since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (20/1 -122%) Glen Road |
20/1(-122%) | (7) Glen Road 20/1, First worthwhile form when third of 8 on heavy-ground 2m novice here 3 weeks ago. Back up in trip and opening mark has suffered as a result. Goes handicapping on the back of an improved third in a 2m soft-ground novice here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 +42%) Horsesomeharry |
7/1(+42%) | (5) Horsesomeharry 7/1, Fitted with cheekpieces and a different proposition on handicap debut/reappearance when successful at Carlisle last month. Short-price to follow up back at that venue but proved to be a major disappointment. Won his first handicap and soft ground reportedly not ideal last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 -20%) Looking Splendid |
12/1(-20%) | (9) Looking Splendid 12/1, Still looking for first success but just about his best effort yet when second of 11 at Market Rasen a month ago. Claims with a repeat. 0-9 but looks mildly progressive after pushing the winner close at Musselburgh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (9/2 +40%) Diamond Dealer |
9/2(+40%) | (4) Diamond Dealer 9/2, Tongue tied when opening his account at Uttoxeter in October. Below-par fifth under a penalty there last month but not written off going into handicap company for the first time on what looks a workable mark. Hood removed. Novice winner but ran no race last time; it's hard to know what to expect on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (11/8 +31%) Marlacoo |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Marlacoo 11/8, Got off to a winning start in clear-cut fashion in a Down Royal bumper in May. Changed hands for £85,000 soon after and made a promising start to hurdling career when third in 2m novice at Warwick last month. Hooded and looked a shade awkward when second here last month. Handicap debut. Latest form here now reads well and he's raised in distance for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (16/1 -14%) Bridge Court |
16/1(-14%) | (6) Bridge Court 16/1, Continued theme of race-by-race progress when third in a Carlisle novice last month. In good handicaps ahead this handicap debut but mark does ask for more. Pleasing final run and today's step up in trip heightens interest on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (28/1 -12%) Joie More |
28/1(-12%) | (8) Joie More 28/1, Made the frame in points and has shown promise over hurdles, effort flattening out over 22.7f at Kelso 18 days ago. This could be his ideal trip. Second in a maiden but hasn't been that threatening in any of his handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JAZZ KING proved to be be a tough customer when he won gamely at Hereford last month. The way he rallied when pressed near the finish in that race was a highly commendable and a 6lb higher mark might not prevent the eight-year-old from following up. Marlacoo is open to any amount of progression and needs taking seriously on his handicap debut after a respectable second-placed finish over 2m here last time out. Diamond Dealer and Chasingouttheblues are others to bear in mind.
MARLACOO didn't look totally straightforward in a 2m novice here last time but there's definite scope from this mark based on his bumper win in Ireland, so he gets the tentative vote. Jazz King got the job done last time so he's a threat, along with Just Chasing Mary.
The interesting runner is handicap debutant MARLACOO who bumped into a good one when staying on well over shorter here last time.

1st (8) (5/2 +29%) Some Scope |
5/2(+29%) | (8) Some Scope 5/2, Had a good first season over fences, winning on 2 of his 5 starts and ending campaign with creditable fourth of 14 in handicap chase at Cheltenham in April. Looked rusty there on return but had a breathing operation after and much more like it when fourth in the Rehearsal Chase. Feather weight with Callum Pritchard taking off 7lb and this 6yo retains some potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/1 +38%) Kinondo Kwetu |
10/1(+38%) | (4) Kinondo Kwetu 10/1, Back on-song when bagging handicaps at Uttoxeter and Worcester during the summer. Followed that with a solid second at Perth in September and by no means disgraced in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle (23.4f, good). Added another sound run to his CV at Doncaster since. Dropped his guard of late and this is no easy race in which to regain the winning thread. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 +18%) Good Boy Bobby |
7/1(+18%) | (7) Good Boy Bobby 7/1, Back-to-back winner in 3m veterans' handicap chases this time last year and went with more zest than at Sandown when second of 7 at Haydock (25.6f). Slight step back in trip will help but he could be vulnerable to younger legs. Not as good as he was when winning this in 2021 but handicapped accordingly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/2 +0%) Tahmuras |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Tahmuras 9/2, Created a good impression when winning his first 3 starts over hurdles, including the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown. Cast aside a tame chase debut when scoring in first-time cheekpieces at Aintree on Boxing Day and similar form when runner-up next 2 starts. Expected to step up on reappearance. Good novice last season and ran as though the recent Haydock race would bring him on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (6/1 +8%) Sine Nomine |
6/1(+8%) | (5) Sine Nomine 6/1, Has a likeable profile both in points and under Rules, making it 4 wins from 6 starts in hunter chases when landing the Festival Challenge Cup at Cheltenham (26.3f, heavy). Strong traveller but jumping failed the test on last month's reappearance under this rider. Won last season's big hunter chase at Cheltenham in March; probably on a useful mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/4 +0%) Cruz Control |
11/4(+0%) | (3) Cruz Control 11/4, Ended last term with 3m chase win here and shaped well when fourth of 12 in handicap chase at Punchestown (24.5f, soft) a month later under an attacking ride. Spin over hurdles in October should have put him spot on for this so he's a major player. Highly progressive last season and still on a good mark; reappearance was over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (1) (25/1 +0%) Mr Incredible |
25/1(+0%) | (1) Mr Incredible 25/1, Is quirky but no doubting his ability, placing in another good handicap in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter in March. In rear (lost several lengths at start) when unseating halfway in Grand National and wasn't on a "going" day finally start for Willie Mullins in May. Enigmatic gelding who doesn't always fancy the challenge and ideally wants further. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
CRUZ CONTROL is a previous course winner who finished fourth in a hot handicap at Punchestown in May and had a recent spin over hurdles to put him spot on for this contest. Tom Lacey's seven-year-old can defy his career-high rating in order to record his seventh success. Good Boy Bobby occupied the runner-up berth over an extended 3m1f at Haydock last time and should go well, while Tahmuras is another to watch out for.
CRUZ CONTROL had a really good first season over fences and with a spin over hurdles under his belt, he's taken to regain the winning thread. Tahmuras is also expected to run much closer to form this time, with Young Buster completing the shortlist.
Tom Lacey's CRUZ CONTROL (nap) is back doing his day job after his comeback over hurdles. He was a progressive chaser last season.

1st (2) (1/1 +33%) Myretown |
1/1(+33%) | (2) Myretown 1/1, £135,000 buy after winning an Irish point in April 2022. Made amends for his Ayr spill in February (race at his mercy) when running out an impressive winner of a Kelso maiden (20.9f) a month later. Built for chasing and shaped quite nicely on reappearance/handicap debut. Less exposed than these rivals; interesting with Newbury reappearance under his belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +25%) Glory And Honour |
5/2(+25%) | (3) Glory And Honour 5/2, Improved over fences for current yard last season and also scored on the Flat at Pontefract in October. Usually held up but raced in mid-field when regaining the winning thread at Newcastle 4 weeks ago. Scored at Newcastle last time and remains favourably treated on peak form; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (15/8 -15%) Grain D'oudairies |
15/8(-15%) | (1) Grain D'oudairies 15/8, Scored at Market Rasen in March and gained reward for consistency in 6-runner contest at Doncaster fitted with a tongue tie for the first time. Up 6 lb but likely to give it another good go. Consistent sort at about 2m; won at Doncaster most recently; goes back up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
GRAIN D'OUDAIRIES appreciated a first-time tongue-tie when accounting for his nearest rival by eight lengths at Doncaster last month and is only 6lb higher for that triumph. Donald McCain's eight-year-old can take this step up in his stride and complete a double. Glory And Honour was victorious at Newcastle on his latest outing and it would be no surprise to see him feature off a 3lb higher mark. Myretown can beat Rich Spirit home for third.
MYRETOWN is built to excel over fences and sure to improve a lot for last month's reappearance/chase bow, he could be the answer. Glory And Honour and Grain D'oudairies are solid rivals.
The vote goes to MYRETOWN, who is the least exposed contender and drops back to an easier level. Glory And Honour is second pick.

1st (2) (17/2 -89%) Grozni |
17/2(-89%) | (2) Grozni 17/2, Three-time hurdles winner for Charles Byrnes who ran well on first 2 starts over fences for new yard. Ran below form at Kempton on final outing and struggled when back hurdling from a 7-month break (pulled up Sandown 19 days ago). Needs to leave that run well behind and visor applied for first time. Has possibilities off current mark provided he takes well to new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/2 +21%) North Parade |
11/2(+21%) | (9) North Parade 11/2, A three-time 2m4f scorer at Newcastle last term and showed benefit of reappearance when fourth at Uttoxeter last month, Disappointing upped to 23.3f last time but yard has turned a corner in recent weeks. A better showing expected here and can be in the mix if his jumping holds up. May be ready to peak today, as he was 2-2 in December last season; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/8 +45%) American Sniper |
11/8(+45%) | (1) American Sniper 11/8, Bounced back to best with cheekpieces refitted when gamely landing 4-runner handicap hurdle at Newbury (24.2f) at the start of November. Raced enthusiastically in a competitive Cheltenham handicap (21f) 41 days ago. This looks an easier race and he could be dangerous if getting his own way in front. In good form since having headgear reapplied, winning at Newbury then sixth at Cheltenham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/1 +29%) Foster'sisland |
10/1(+29%) | (3) Foster'sisland 10/1, Winless last season but signed off with a good third at Ayr (21.4f) in the spring and similar form after 7 months off when second of 6 in handicap hurdle here (19.7f) last month. Found out in a better race at Cheltenham last month and this looks a more realistic assignment. Went close in this race in 2022 but ran poorly last year; mixed messages. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 +39%) Willaston |
11/2(+39%) | (4) Willaston 11/2, A three-time hurdle winner since joining Mark Walford but proving hit and miss of late, a well-held fourth in 3m Aintree handicap and a below-par fourth of 7 at Market Rasen 29 days ago. Needs more to take this. Drops back in grade looking attractively weighted (2lb below last winning mark). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (8/1 -33%) Bois Guillbert |
8/1(-33%) | (7) Bois Guillbert 8/1, 3-time winner over hurdles (including here) who saw out the longer trip after 7 months off when third of 9 at Perth (20.2f, soft) in September. Backward step when pulled up at Kelso 47 days ago, folding tamely (jockey felt something was amiss) and market should indicate what's expected here. Ran as if something was amiss last time; remains of interest at this sort of level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -100%) Liffeydale Dreamer |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Liffeydale Dreamer 50/1, Completed hat-trick in game fashion at Cartmel in August 2022. Off the track for 28 months so no real surprise she didn't show a great deal at Uttoxeter 16 days ago. Looks up against it here. Achieved nothing at Uttoxeter this month on return from long layoff. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
AMERICAN SNIPER impressed when scoring gamely in reapplied cheekpieces (retained) over 3m at Newbury on his penultimate start last month, and he shaped like he was still in good heart when plugging on for sixth after setting brisk fractions in a hot Cheltenham handicap over 2m5f last time out. Eased 2lb for that, David Pipe's charge gets the nod to land the spoils. Grozni is a smart operator on his day and, sporting a visor for the first time and having slipped to an attractive mark, his turn in the winner's enclosure may not be far away. Willaston is also noteworthy.
AMERICAN SNIPER was far from disgraced when sixth in a better race at Cheltenham last month, showing plenty of verve from the front that day and he can score with a top conditional rider in the plate. Eire Street can leave his comeback run behind and back up in trip, he could be dangerous if in the same form as when second at Kelso in April. North Parade is better than he showed last time and could be in the mix with a cleaner round of jumping.
With his latest effort seemingly best forgiven, BOIS GUILLBERT is worth another chance. Willaston is second choice.

7/2(+22%) | (8) Mister Smarty 7/2, Caught the eye when fourth in a race at Newcastle that worked out well and belied 10-month absence when successful over the same C&D 12 days ago. May well have more to offer. Posted an emphatic win at Newcastle this month on seasonal debut, opening his account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -75%) Double Oban |
7/2(-75%) | (2) Double Oban 7/2, Fair on the Flat at up to 14.5f for Hugo Palmer and continued theme of major race-by-race progress when making a winning handicap debut at Uttoxeter in July. Could have more to offer for leading yard. Won at Uttoxeter in July when last seen and remains well treated judged on Flat form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (5/1 +29%) Treasured Company |
5/1(+29%) | (9) Treasured Company 5/1, Back-to-back winner in 2021. Hasn't stood much racing since but cashed in on falling mark in 9-runner handicap hurdle at Cartmel in August. Never really looked like following up at Sedgefield. Scored comfortably at Cartmel two starts ago; still well treated on historical data. |

4th (5) (6/1 -50%) Lahire |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Lahire 6/1, Down in the weights and set to produced most encouraging effort yet in handicaps when falling late at Sedgefield a month ago. Probably booked for second that day so one to consider. 0-5 since handicapping but had every chance when falling at Sedgefield most recently. |

16/1(+0%) | (11) Milajess 16/1, Still a maiden but produced best effort yet for current yard when runner-up at Uttoxeter (15.8f) in June. Fitter for return when fourth at Sedgefield a month ago. Each-way chance on bits of form but remains an inconsistent maiden. |

6th (1) (18/1 +10%) Vocal Duke |
18/1(+10%) | (1) Vocal Duke 18/1, Losing run mounting up and while he was placed on 3 lb higher at Cartmel in August, he followed that a brace of heavy defeats. Hopes rest on drop in trip. On a long losing sequence and ran poorly the last twice; not screaming to be backed. |

7th (7) (66/1 -65%) Lillistar |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Lillistar 66/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¼m) for Harry & Roger Charlton but well held over hurdles and efforts on the level for this yard hardly encouraging, either. Holds very weak claims on her form (hurdles/Flat) for current yard. |

8th (4) (9/2 +72%) Opera King |
9/2(+72%) | (4) Opera King 9/2, Posted best effort in this sphere when creditable second of 9 at Market Rasen (18.5f, good to firm) in September. Has followed that with a couple of low-key efforts over longer trips but perhaps this return to shorter will help him get back on track. Ran well on handicap debut; has regressed in two starts since; drops back in trip. |

9th (3) (9/1 -13%) Let's Sail Away |
9/1(-13%) | (3) Let's Sail Away 9/1, Winner of sole start between the flags a year ago. Best effort of his 4 under Rules so far was when fourth of 13 in a Uttoxeter maiden (15.7f, heavy) in April but back over 2m having been brushed aside on handicap debut (made mistakes). Drop back to 2m looks a plus; possibilities if taking well to first-time headgear. |

|PU| (10) (66/1 -100%) Nut Wood |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Nut Wood 66/1, Looks limited on early evidence. Handicap debut. May do better now handicapping but needs a big step forward to get competitive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Olly Murphy has his string in good form at present, and his DOUBLE OBAN gets the vote here. The son of Territories impressed when scoring readily on his handicap hurdle debut over 2m at Uttoxeter in the summer and the suspicion is that a 4lb rise may underestimate him. Lahire was still in with a chance when coming to grief at the final flight in a Sedgefield handicap last month, and he should remain competitive off 2lb higher. Impressive last-time-out scorer Mister Smarty is also noteworthy despite a 9lb hike in the ratings.
DOUBLE OBAN was much improved on what was a quick switch to handicap company when successful at Uttoxeter this summer and is fancied to pick up where he left off for his excellent yard. Mister Smarty is also going the right way so he commands respect, along with Lahire.
The suggestion is LAHIRE, who has a fighting chance in this field granted a clear round. Double Oban is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.
