11:57 Wetherby Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SERIOUS CHAT struck in a bumper at Stratford prior to only managing sixth on his hurdles debut over C&D last month, but he could take a big step forward from that effort. Donald McCain's five-year-old looks to have been found an ideal opportunity and can open his account. Klapton Boy changed hands for 20,000 pounds after finishing second between the flags and wouldn't have to be anything out of the ordinary in order to get involved. Tanking Along is up against it, while this comes soon enough after Lathan's defeat of The Geordie Ginge in a match at Newcastle on Friday.

SERIOUS CHAT probably won't be at his best until tackling staying trips, but this looks an excellent opportunity for him to get off the mark at the second time of asking over hurdles. Klapton Boy was runner-up on his sole outing in Irish points and needs a market check setting out under Rules at an ordinary level.

Bumper winner SERIOUS CHAT ran pretty well when sixth over C&D on last month's hurdle debut and this looks a much easier assignment.

12:27 Wetherby Handicap Chase (Class 3) 15f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Hidalgo De L'isle was beaten into fourth in this grade at Aintree last month, but he has been dropped 2lb for that performance and could get closer. However, HERE COMES GEORGIE is the more appealing option. Patrick Neville's six-year-old failed to complete a hurdling hat-trick at Cheltenham, but he is well worth another chance at fences in a first-time tongue-tie. Cannock Park can beat Bold Reaction home for third.

HIDALGO DE L'ISLE has made a good start over fences and looks the solid option. Cannock Park can do better and is feared most.

Last season's useful novice hurdler CANNOCK PARK took a step in the right direction at Kelso last time and he's the selection.

13:00 Wetherby Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ACT OF AUTHORITY bolted up in a conditionals' handicap at Sandown last weekend and is able to compete off the same rating. This looks a good piece of placing from his connections and if he remains in the same form, he is difficult to oppose. City Derby chased home a subsequent dual winner at Aintree last time and should go well off an unchanged mark, while Liverpool Knight can beat Bertie's Ballet home for third.

ACT OF AUTHORITY proved a different proposition with a reappearance run behind him when running out an authoritative winner at Sandown (19.8f) 6 days ago, his strength at the finish particularly taking. He ought to take some stopping operating from the same mark. Bertie's Ballet and Liverpool Knight can do battle for the forecast spot.

This revolves around ACT OF AUTHORITY, who escapes a penalty for last Sunday's easy win in a conditionals' handicap at Sandown.

13:35 Wetherby Handicap Chase (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

PAY THE PIPER has been in terrific form since returning in September, winning twice at Kelso either side of going down to an unexposed rival here last month. A 7lb rise for his latest triumph shouldn't be a barrier to further success and he is the pick. Densworth disappointed on his chasing bow at Aintree recently, but could step forward with that experience under his belt. Escapeandevade, who was running well prior to unseating on his seasonal reappearance, heads the remainder.

None of these can be ruled out but the vote goes to ESCAPEANDEVADE who looked as good as ever when unseating his rider late on here last time and can bounce back to winning ways with the cheekpieces refitted. Course-scorer Pay The Piper could emerge as the main danger ahead of Glory And Honour and Findthetime.

The rejuvenated 9yo PAY THE PIPER is taken to post his third win of the autumn, having done it nicely at Kelso last time.

14:10 Wetherby Conditions Hurdle (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Useful Flat performer EMIYN ran a race full of promise when second on his hurdling bow at Aintree last month. The Declan Carroll-trained seven-year-old could enjoy a fruitful winter on that evidence and is taken to repel the likely challenge of Soleil D'arizona, who also occupied the runner-up spot on her debut over timber. Kalium is feared too, and it would be unwise to rule out the remaining duo.

KALIUM chased home an above-average rival on his hurdles debut at Ludlow and, with the promise of better to come from this 4-y-o, he looks the way to go. That said, French import Soleil d'Arizona also found just one too good starting out in this sphere at Exeter and she will offer stern resistance if, as expected, she is able to build on that. Emiyn arguably lacks the scope of the aforementioned duo but his hurdles debut was very encouraging, too, and he should make his presence felt.

Preference for KALIUM is marginal but Tim Vaughan's 4yo looks well up to winning a race like this. Soleil D'Arizona is next best.

14:45 Wetherby Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

OSLO finished a creditable fourth on the level at Kempton just 12 days ago and looks primed to run a big race back over timber. Beaten only a length off this mark in a competitive hurdle at Perth in August, a similar effort could see him bang there at the finish once again. Old Gregorian arrives on the back of a surprise victory at Kelso and is a threat with Jack Power's allowance reducing an 8lb rise. Glory And Fortune should not be underestimated returning to handicap company.

OLD GREGORIAN's hit-or-miss profile to date is a bit of a concern but his recent Kelso win appeals as solid form so even an 8 lb rise may not stop him. Oslo isn't always fluent in the jumping department but he arrives in form and is the obvious danger.

Much the safest option looks to be OSLO (nap), not beaten far on the AW last time and with optimum conditions now back hurdling.

15:20 Wetherby Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CARTONNE was having his first outing since May when fading away in the closing stages at Huntingdon having disputed the lead for most of the way. The seven-year-old can be forgiven that effort and gets another chance to resume winning ways. Ballydisco was still going well when falling at Carlisle last month and can make his presence felt with a clear round, while Cardamon Hill will appreciate the return to faster ground and is not out of it either.

Preference is for BALLYDISCO, who was in the process of running creditably on return when departing on his debut for new connections at Carlisle just over 3 weeks ago. Provided that spill hasn't left a mark, he can get the better of Cartonne, who shaped as if better for the run after 6 months off at Huntingdon recently. Cardamon Hill can fill out third.

Cartonne is a serious contender but preference is for BALLYDISCO who went close to a breakthrough chase win at Ffos Las in May.
