1st (9) (11/8 +66%) Time For A Pint |
11/8(+66%) | (9) Time For A Pint 11/8, Irish point winner who justified support to open his account over fences at the second attempt at Catterick (25.2f, soft) in January. Shade disappointing when only fourth at Hereford last time but he's a key player nonetheless. Not at best last time but was clear winner at Catterick in January; still has low mileage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (15/2 -114%) Hobie |
15/2(-114%) | (3) Hobie 15/2, Irish point winner who landed a 2m Worcester maiden hurdle last May. Bettered previous efforts in this sphere when runner-up at Taunton (21.7f, good) recently and definite chance if able to build on that here. Ran big race in defeat when back on good ground last month; moves up from 2m5f today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (25/1 -79%) The Knot Is Tied |
25/1(-79%) | (8) The Knot Is Tied 25/1, Fair winner over hurdles who returned to form from out the blue to open chase account at Lingfield (2m, good to soft) in December 2022. Form has dipped badly since, though, and little impact in 2 starts on the Flat last monh. Versatile 9yo; well beaten on both Flat starts for new stable last month; now back chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 +53%) Harlem Soul |
15/2(+53%) | (1) Harlem Soul 15/2, Successful twice in Wincanton in December 2022 but more miss than hit since and he's opposable. Won twice over 2m4f in 2022-23 season but was out of form last term; drops in grade today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (4/1 +20%) Phil De Pail |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Phil De Pail 4/1, Hasn't shown a great deal in 3 starts since returning from a lengthy absence in February but makes his chase debut for a yard in flying form. Interesting in a change of headgear. Safely held in three slow-ground hurdles this year; can do much better back on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (4/1 -78%) Supasunrise |
4/1(-78%) | (5) Supasunrise 4/1, Largely creditable efforts since latest success over 2½m here in November, putting in a better round of jumping than is often the case when third at Hereford last time. Claims if responding well to the first-time visor. Largely consistent since 2m4f course win in November and good ground suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (20/1 +39%) The Late Legend |
20/1(+39%) | (4) The Late Legend 20/1, Pulled up on each of his last 3 starts and he makes little appeal. Six-time chase winner (once over C&D) but has been in the doldrums for a while now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 -178%) Toad Of Toad Hall |
25/1(-178%) | (7) Toad Of Toad Hall 25/1, Successful twice at Fontwell last year but he ran poorly there when last seen in October and he's none too reliable. Triple chase winner at Fontwell; absent since a poor performance there in October. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
After bouncing back to form with a good second over the extended 2m5f at Taunton, HOBIE looks set to build on that effort. David Dennis' charge has been raised 2lb and that could prove lenient, with this extra yardage unlikely to be an issue. The consistent Supasunrise also holds solid claims off the same mark as his near two-length third over 2m5f at Hereford, while better can be expected of Time For A Pint.
Though rather disappointing at Hereford last time, TIME FOR A PINT left the impression that there was better to come when opening his chase account at Catterick in January and he is well worth another chance. Hobie and Supasunrise complete the shortlist.
It's worth chancing chasing debutant PHIL DE PAIL, who will be suited by today's return to good ground.

Dontmesswithme |
(8) (40/1 +0%)40/1(+0%) | (8) Dontmesswithme 40/1, Showed ability in bumpers but offered little on Wincanton hurdle debut in December. Showed some ability in bumpers but struggled to get competitive on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) (5/6 +53%) El Curamach |
5/6(+53%) | (1) El Curamach 5/6, Tongue tied and much better effort over hurdles when fourth of 13 in novice at Taunton (16.5f, soft, 66/1) 27 days ago, finishing well. Will probably be better back over further in due course but open to further improvement nonetheless. Very respectable fourth at Taunton in March and sets the standard in this modest maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (14/1 +58%) Gotthereintheend |
14/1(+58%) | (10) Gotthereintheend 14/1, Looks more one for handicaps after this run. Beaten about 36l in two ordinary 2m3f maidens hurdles towards end of last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/2 +55%) Windsurfer |
9/2(+55%) | (7) Windsurfer 9/2, Signs of ability both starts in bumpers and is bred to have a future jumping. Seventh in two big-field bumpers last season, showing enough to be of interest here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 -30%) Gasmani |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Gasmani 13/2, Fair bumper winner who should be up to making his presence felt in a race of this nature over hurdles. Displayed good attitude to win weak Newcastle bumper in March; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 +0%) Miami Jim |
66/1(+0%) | (4) Miami Jim 66/1, €42,000 3-y-o, £8,000 5-y-o, Mahler gelding. Half-brother to 5 winners, including very smart hurdler/chaser Mala Beach and fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Bonny Kate. Failed to complete both starts in points in spring 2023. Withdrawn at start on vets advice on intended Rules debut. Showed no significant promise when failing to complete two points last spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (25/1 +50%) Northern Reel |
25/1(+50%) | (11) Northern Reel 25/1, £38,000 buy after winning an Irish point but little to get excited about under Rules. Has left Anthony Charlton. Ran well to a point at Wincanton in March but was safely held in the end. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (22/1 -38%) Ned Cash |
22/1(-38%) | (6) Ned Cash 22/1, Some promise in bumpers but was pulled up on last month's Huntingdon hurdle debut. Hooded for 1st time. Displayed promise in both bumpers but raced too feeely and jumped poorly on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (15/2 -200%) Mokoro |
15/2(-200%) | (5) Mokoro 15/2, Failed to justify support when seventh of 10 in bumper at Hereford (16.2f, good to soft, 10/3) on debut in January. Makes a quick switch to hurdling. Safely held on bumper debut but represents a top stable; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (33/1 -230%) Goldies Roc |
33/1(-230%) | (9) Goldies Roc 33/1, Rocamadour mare. Dam 1¼m winner in Germany. Has had a breathing operation ahead of debut. Out of a German Flat winner; doesn't need to be anything special to get competitive here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
EL CURAMACH has shown ability on each of his two starts to date and he can have a strong say here. Ryan Potter's runner was fourth at Taunton and that form looks solid given the first two home have both subsequently scored. Gasmani was successful in a bumper at Newcastle before coming up short at the Scottish National meeting and better can be expected now he goes jumping. Mokoro can improve on his second start for the powerful Skelton combination.
EL CURAMACH is likely to prove best back up in trip in due course but his Taunton fourth has been well franked and it probably won't take a whole lot more improvement to land this. Gasmani, a fair bumper winner, should be up to making his presence felt in a race of this nature over hurdles, while similar comments apply to Windsurfer, who's very much bred to have a future jumping.
The pick is EL CURAMACH, who ran well for a long way when fourth in a much stronger race than this at Taunton in March.

1st (5) (9/4 +44%) Next Left |
9/4(+44%) | (5) Next Left 9/4, Fair form when placed in 3 hurdles for Gary Moore at the end of 2021. Below that level both starts for this yard after a long absence, however, so bit to prove now sent chasing (placed in points). Back from long absence with two underwhelning hurdle runs but remains lightly raced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/1 +29%) Hurlerontheditch |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Hurlerontheditch 5/1, Would have made a winning return/chase debut at Warwick but for an unfortunate slip after the last. Not in same form next 3 of 4 starts, however, running poorly at Bangor 3 weeks ago. Unlucky not to win here on chasing debut in November, and is back on a good mark now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 -5%) Crypto Currency |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Crypto Currency 7/2, Winning pointer who hinted at ability in bumpers for Oliver Sherwood. Off for nearly 2 years before fifth of 13 for new yard at Newbury in November and duly came on for that when third at Fontwell. Should have more to offer ahead of handicap/chase bow. Lightly raced since Irish point win in 2021 but looks interesting on handicap/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +0%) Ukantango |
2/1(+0%) | (1) Ukantango 2/1, Dual novice hurdle winner who was also runner-up in Cheltenham Grade 2. Left his chasing debut form behind when second at Wetherby in November. Failed to repeat that at Doncaster but back on track after a wind op when second at Market Rasen 6 weeks ago. Should go well again. 0-4 over fences but ran well in defeat last time and is well handicapped on hurdling form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 -300%) Glen Cannel |
16/1(-300%) | (2) Glen Cannel 16/1, Winner of a Market Rasen maiden and Ayr novice on his first 2 starts over hurdles. Struggled in handicaps after but has always appealed as a chasing type and yard has hit form. Headgear on. Did not hit top gear over hurdles last season but still has low mileage; chase debut today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
UKANTANGO has been a consistent performer since his first chase start and this looks to be a good opportunity to get off the mark over the larger obstacles. The seven-year-old represents the bang in-form Olly Murphy stable and he can continue that hot streak after being eased 1lb for his Market Rasen second. Crypto Currency makes his handicap and chasing bow, and improvement is anticipated, while Glen Cannel completes the shortlist.
GLEN CANNEL promises to make a better chaser so can make a winning start in this sphere with his yard right back among the winners. Crypto Currency is building up to something after a long absence, while Ukantango has the advantage of chase experience.
The one with most potential could be chase/handicap debutant CRYPTO CURRENCY, who shaped with promise in two novice hurdles last season

1st (11) (11/4 +61%) Uggy Uggy Uggy |
11/4(+61%) | (11) Uggy Uggy Uggy 11/4, Dual winner (at up to 18.7f) last term who made an encouraging start for new connections when fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cheltenham (20.2f, good) 24 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Claims if building on that. Encouraging fifth at Cheltenham last month; might be the answer with his stable going well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 -29%) Bhaloo |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Bhaloo 9/2, Posted career best when winning 6-runner novice hurdle (6/4) at Kempton (21f, good) 19 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Likely more to come on switch to handicapping and is one for shortlist. Lightly raced 6yo; won novices at Doncaster and Kempton; leading player on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 +46%) Lallygag |
13/2(+46%) | (4) Lallygag 13/2, Proved a useful novice hurdler in 2022/23, winning on 3 occasions, but proved disappointing in 5 starts last term. Handicapper has cut him some slack but others hold more appeal. Tongue strap on first time. Has become disappointing; needs first-time tongue-strap to have a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (12/1 +14%) Shared |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Shared 12/1, Dual winner in 2022/23 who improved again to win 2m Chepstow handicap on reappearance in October. Rather gone backwards since but likely sounder surface here may see him in a better light. Cheekpieces back on. Well held in competitive events the last twice; hard to know what sort of form he's in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (5/1 +23%) Lunar Sovereign |
5/1(+23%) | (10) Lunar Sovereign 5/1, Relatively lightly-raced 8-y-o who caught the eye when fourth in Swinton Hurdle at Haydock last spring and has acquitted himself well in a couple of recent 2m handicaps at Chepstow. Could be a player if taking to this longer trip. Third at Chepstow two weeks ago, a place behind Manorbank; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (15/2 -25%) Nothin To Ask |
15/2(-25%) | (8) Nothin To Ask 15/2, Returned to form, after a breathing operation, when close second of 12 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, good) 18 days ago. 5 lb rise fair and ought to go well again. Nearly cashed in on lower hurdles mark at Southwell 18 days ago; big chance again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (18/1 -13%) Opening Bid |
18/1(-13%) | (12) Opening Bid 18/1, Won 5 times over fences last term and posted solid fourth, back from 6 months off, in handicap chase (22/1) at Chepstow (19.4f, good) 15 days ago. 9 lb lower in this sphere and can't be discounted. Mainly runs over fences these days; 7lb higher than when last seen over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (66/1 -164%) War Lord |
66/1(-164%) | (2) War Lord 66/1, Ran well back from 7 months off/wind surgery when third in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter in November but has struggled since, including in blinkers latest. Cheekpieces on for a second time now. Remains to be seen whether a return to hurdles sparks a revival. Had a disappointing 2023-24; well treated on best form but carries significant risks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (20/1 -100%) Thelasthighking |
20/1(-100%) | (5) Thelasthighking 20/1, Successful over fences at Wincanton and Southwell last year and returned with a pair of good runner-up efforts at Kempton in the autumn. Below form both starts since, though, and has something to prove back over the smaller obstacles. Has been chasing (below par latest); successful when last seen over hurdles; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (8/1 -45%) Manorbank |
8/1(-45%) | (6) Manorbank 8/1, Returned to form, back hurdling, when good second of 9 in handicap at Chepstow (16f, good) 15 days ago, running on. Step up in trip should suit and he must enter calculations. Good second at Chepstow last time; may build on that and has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (40/1 -100%) Impulsive One |
40/1(-100%) | (1) Impulsive One 40/1, Yet to score for current yard and was disappointing when last seen over fences at Ayr 6 months ago. Does have assistance of Sean Bowen back over hurdles at least. Returns from six-month break and must concede weight all round; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (100/1 -52%) Hardi Du Mesnil |
100/1(-52%) | (13) Hardi Du Mesnil 100/1, Expensive purchase after winning a French juvenile in early 2021 but very sparingly seen on these shores and offered little on yard/chase debut at Ludlow in January. Best watched returned to hurdling here. Had wind operation. Has achieved little last five starts, including in points; has had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (125/1 -400%) Swordsman |
125/1(-400%) | (9) Swordsman 125/1, Aided by first-time blinkers when taking 7-runner handicap hurdle at Killarney (20f, good, 9/1) in summer of 2021 but not seen since and is likely best watched on return for new yard. Last seen winning at Killarney in July 2021; probably best watched for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BHALOO bounced back to form with an easy success from the front at Kempton and a mark of 127 looks feasible on his handicap debut, with conditions in his favour once more. Denied by the narrowest of margins at Southwell, Nothin To Ask can give him the most to think about, although Manorbank should appreciate going back up in trip after a highly creditable second over 2m at Chepstow. Lunar Sovereign and Thelasthighking are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
NOTHIN TO ASK came agonisingly close to returning to winning ways at Southwell last month and remains fairly treated on old form. He can land the spoils. Bhaloo and Manorbank are feared most.
Nothin To Ask is respected but preference is for UGGY UGGY UGGY, an encouraging fifth at Cheltenham last month.

Chatty Chich |
(9) (2/1 -23%)2/1(-23%) | (9) Chatty Chich 2/1, Well held in 3 qualifying runs in mid-winter but had displayed ability in a bumper and much more like it in handicaps, runner-up at Fakenham before going one place better at Huntingdon over this trip on Thursday. Massive player if taking up this engagement. Won quite comfortably at Huntingdon on Thursday; obvious contender under penalty here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (7/4 +68%) Sister Michael |
7/4(+68%) | (4) Sister Michael 7/4, Southwell maiden hurdle winner in May 2022. Off 13 months prior to current campaign and has run with credit on two of his three outings, third at Market Rasen last time. Should be on the premises again assuming his stamina lasts. Ran well in defeat on latest outing and this much quicker ground may suit him better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/2 +25%) Wavering Down |
9/2(+25%) | (7) Wavering Down 9/2, Represents in-form yard and he stuck to his task well when fourth on last month's return to action at Wincanton. Same mark here and he now looks ready for this trip. Placed on both starts last summer and also ran well last month, after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 +50%) Land Genie |
3/1(+50%) | (6) Land Genie 3/1, Half-brother to Constitution Hill who made a winning start to his career in Huntingdon bumper last spring. Hasn't clicked immediately over hurdles but he's upped markedly in trip and the assessor has taken a chance with his mark. Not at best last time but was placed on first two hurdling starts; handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (6/1 +57%) My Monty |
6/1(+57%) | (8) My Monty 6/1, On first start for current yard, shaped better than previously when third in a 21.7f novice at Hereford. Unable to build on that since, including on handicap debut and he now tries a new trip. Only fifth of sixth on recent handicap debut (2m3f); tries a new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (16/1 -191%) One More Fleurie |
16/1(-191%) | (2) One More Fleurie 16/1, Didn't look an easy ride but exceeded market expectations when second of 6 over fences at Doncaster in December. Off since and this his first hurdles start since 2020. Runner-up over fences on latest outing and reverts to hurdling on 5lb lower mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (17/2 +47%) Nickelsonthedime |
17/2(+47%) | (1) Nickelsonthedime 17/2, 10-y-o who tasted success twice last summer, latterly in 6-runner Newton Abbot handicap (26.5f) in July. Heavy defeat on reappearance 3 weeks ago but that was without usual cheekpieces, which are back on here. Has conditions to suit but ran poorly last month, after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (28/1 +15%) Time To Tinker |
28/1(+15%) | (5) Time To Tinker 28/1, Winless since landing a brace of handicaps in autumn 2021 and merely underlined inconsistency when pulled up last 2 outings. Useful for Paul Nicholls but pulled up on three of four stable starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of SISTER MICHAEL, who has done well since switching to his current stable and his third at Market Rasen in a contest that has worked out well since was highly encouraging. The eight-year-old should appreciate going beyond 3m for the first time and is preferred to unexposed handicap debutant Land Genie and course winner One More Fleurie, who returns to the smaller obstacles for the first time since October 2020.
LAND GENIE's hurdles efforts so far have hardly been brimming with promise but he's a well-bred bumper winner tackling a new trip so a much-improved showing would come as no surprise. Chatty Chich landed a few bets at Huntingdon on Thursday and is a major threat if allowed to take her chance, with Wavering Down completing the shortlist.
Dan Skelton's mare CHATTY CHICH came good with a fairly comfortable success at Huntingdon on Thursday and can follow up.

1st (2) (2/1 +40%) Boombawn |
2/1(+40%) | (2) Boombawn 2/1, Useful hurdler who landed his first two starts this term at Aintree and Kempton. Only fourteenth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Aintree (20f, soft) 29 days ago but sort to bounce back now going chasing. Very useful handicap hurdler; obvious claims if he takes to chasing at first attempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/1 +13%) Way Out |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Way Out 7/1, Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who turned in a below-par sixth after 5 months off in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (16f, good) 15 days ago. Not discounted reverted to fences with that run under his belt. Not at best over hurdles last month but his autumn chase form makes him of strong interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (12/1 -33%) Call Of The Wild |
12/1(-33%) | (3) Call Of The Wild 12/1, Fairly useful hurdler but only tenth of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (19.4f, good) 105 days ago. Failed to take to fences when last tried early in 2023 so has a bit to prove. Useful hurdler; disappointed over fences in 2022-23; now begins second chasing spell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 -29%) First Street |
9/2(-29%) | (4) First Street 9/2, Very useful hurdler but he beat only one in handicap at Ayr (16f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Baten in a match on his chasing debut in November so needs to step forward. Smart hurdler; well beaten at short odds in a match race on chasing debut, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (15/8 +6%) Authorised Speed |
15/8(+6%) | (1) Authorised Speed 15/8, Useful hurdler/chaser who posted a good fourth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Sandown (19.8f, good) 14 days ago. Big shout back in this sphere. Fell in two of three chases last season but was recently placed in a competitive hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (20/1 -122%) Silent Revolution |
20/1(-122%) | (5) Silent Revolution 20/1, Had wind op/tongue strap on for 1st time when respectable third of 6 in handicap hurdle at Newbury (20.5f) in December. Failed to build on it when 11th at Musselburgh since so more needed back over fences. Useful hurdler when on song but jumped poorly on previous chasing attempt in 2022. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
FIRST STREET's first crack at fences didn't go as planned but he is a classy performer over the smaller obstacles, with his best effort possibly being his second to State Man in the 2022 County Hurdle. Nicky Henderson's seven-year-old is top-rated in this field and he looks the one to beat. Boombawn was victorious on two of his last three outings over hurdles and he has to be taken seriously on his chasing debut, while Authorised Speed is far from out of it.
Most of these arrive with a question mark against them so this looks a good opportunity for in-form hurdler AUTHORISED SPEED to resume winning ways back chasing. Fencing newcomer Boombawn could emerge as the chief threat with Way Out another to consider if, as expected, building on his Chepstow hurdling sixth.
The best option is WAY OUT (nap), who made a very solid start to his chasing career last autumn and is very well suited by good ground.

1st (5) (10/3 +39%) Sunray Shadow |
10/3(+39%) | (5) Sunray Shadow 10/3, £50,000 3-y-o, Blue Bresil gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Whisperinthebreeze, stayed 25f, and fairly useful hurdler Silver Kayf. Notable newcomer for top yard. 2nd (8) (10/1 +75%) Jackie Can |
10/1(+75%) | (8) Jackie Can 10/1, Not the most appealing based on pedigree and the market is likely to serve as a guide as to what is expected of her. Jack Hobbs half-sister to a point winner; stable is 4-35 in bumpers in recent seasons. |

3rd (4) (11/2 +39%) Saint Kristobal |
11/2(+39%) | (4) Saint Kristobal 11/2, Point winner who was underwhelming when sixth of 7 in a bumper at Stratford on Rules debut but may benefit from these less testing conditions a couple of months on. Point winner on heavy ground but was then tailed off in similar conditions on bumper debut. |

4th (3) (Evens +88%) Rocket Man |
Evens(+88%) | (3) Rocket Man Evens, €82,000 3-y-o, Maxios gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat, including 7f/1m winner in Spain Royal Dancer. Dam unraced. Should have the requisite speed for this sort of test, so one to consider on debut. Flat-bred so speed-favouring conditions may suit; quite an interesting newcomer. |

5th (7) (12/1 +76%) Milan Milos |
12/1(+76%) | (7) Milan Milos 12/1, Backed at long odds, very much bred for stamina, but showed plenty of ability on debut in Kempton bumper last month. Entitled to progress. Promise on debut but well held next time; hard to support with confidence after second run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (20/1 +50%) Taralote |
20/1(+50%) | (9) Taralote 20/1, Kayf Tara filly. Dam (b78) ran twice in bumpers. Not enough encouragement at Plumpton on debut to make her of serious interest in this. Showed a little when seventh of ten at Plumpton on debut and may improve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
KINGSTON PRIDE took a step forward from his Lingfield second behind a subsequent Grade 2 runner-up to justify short odds at Exeter, and he should have plenty more to offer. Nicky Henderson's grey can defy his 7lb penalty to record a double. Rocket Man changed hands for 82,000 euros and warrants a market check on his debut. Sunray Shadow is another newcomer to watch out for, while it will be interesting to see what the betting makes of the selection's stablemate Noble Park.
KINGSTON PRIDE underlined that he's a good prospect when opening his account in facile style at Exeter last time and a penalty is unlikely to be enough to stop him for all that there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, the pick of them being Sunray Shadow. Rocket Man is another one to consider if strong in the betting.
Dan Skelton's newcomer Sunray Shadow is respected but KINGSTON PRIDE looks the one to beat, having scored cosily at Exeter.
Ths is the racecard key.
