150/1(-355%) | (7) Nibiru 150/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 14/1, first run since leaving A. J. Martin when seventeenth of 18 in handicap at Fairyhouse (14f, good) 18 days ago, very slowly away. Makes chase debut. Dual-purpose winner was poor on the Flat last time; likely best watched on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (66/1 -100%) Kaleosun |
66/1(-100%) | (12) Kaleosun 66/1, Seventh of 8 in juvenile hurdle at Ballinrobe (16.3f, good to soft, 12/1) 35 days ago, folding. Makes chase debut. Bumper and maiden hurdle winner has been below form on last few starts; chasing bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (16/1 -113%) Jet Setting Jim |
16/1(-113%) | (6) Jet Setting Jim 16/1, Lightly-raced winner under Rules. One win from 3 runs last season. One to be interested in on this chase debut. Bumper winner won a Listowel maiden hurdle last time and can run well on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (8/1 -78%) Implicit |
8/1(-78%) | (11) Implicit 8/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 1/2, pulled up in novice chase at Tramore (15.5f, good to soft) on debut over fences 31 days ago. Looked amiss that day and, given the promise she showed over hurdles, tbis 6-y-o remains of strong interest. Dual hurdle winner was poor when reported to have made a respiratory noise on chasing bow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (10/1 -25%) Dark Note |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Denis Hogan's THECOMPANYSERGEANT should be good enough to record a first win over fences. Runner-up in a Grade 3 at Thurles in March, the seven-year-old was fourth in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse on his next start. Although a beaten favourite at Kilbeggan on his return last month, the gelding may just have needed that run. Genois has yet to win from 12 attempts over fences but the Enda Bolger-trained eight-year-old has plenty of valuable experience. Implicit was beaten with over a circuit to run on her chasing debut at Tramore last month. Sent off odds-on for that contest, the Willie Mullins-trained mare clearly didn't give her true running.
Useful hurdler THE BIG DOYEN made an encouraging start over fences at Kilbeggan and, with this drop back in trip and the fitting of a hood both potentially good moves, he is taken to strike. Thecompanysergeant has found just one too good on two of his three completed starts over fences and he is feared most. That said, Implicit didnt appear to be anywhere near 100% on her chase debut and she remains of interest, while Jet Setting Jim could also have a part to play if his jumping passes the test.
With four fine chasing runs in defeat, including in a Grade 1, it will be disappointing if THECOMPANYSERGEANT(nap) can't win

1st (4) (16/1 -60%) Good As Hell |
16/1(-60%) | (4) Good As Hell 16/1, C&D winner. Three wins from 13 runs last season. Seventh of 9 in handicap chase (28/1) at Kilbeggan (20.2f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Has shown a liking for this track, winning on three of her first visits, worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (15/2 -36%) Mister Wilson |
15/2(-36%) | (5) Mister Wilson 15/2, Eighth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft, 9/2) 32 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Others make more appeal from a win perspective. Flat/hurdles winner, moderate run over hurdles since 10l second in first handicap chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/1 +67%) Presenting Lad |
11/1(+67%) | (7) Presenting Lad 11/1, Fair winner at 17f over hurdles. Sixth of 9 in handicap chase at Tramore (15.5f, good to soft, 22/1) 32 days ago. Plenty to find on form. Two handicap hurdle wins last summer, no sign he can achieve similar success over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/1 -43%) Bythesametoken |
10/1(-43%) | (3) Bythesametoken 10/1, Creditable third of 8 in handicap chase (13/2) at Ballinrobe (19.2f, good) 36 days ago. Solid each-way chance. Third in a veterans' chase at Ballinrobe last time, probably needs more to feature here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 +13%) Time Marches On |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Time Marches On 7/1, Course winner. Latest win in chase here in May. 11/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Kilbeggan (20.4f, good) 30 days ago, behind when pulled up after seventh. Needs a couple of these to falter. Two wins and two failures to complete from his last five so not the most dependable type. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (2/1 -33%) Great Bear |
2/1(-33%) | (2) Great Bear 2/1, 3/1, good second of 7 in handicap chase at Punchestown (16.2f, good) 24 days ago, sticking to task. Merits consideration. Ran on strongly and failed by only a short head over 2m at Punchestown, strong contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (28/1 +15%) Mc Alpine |
28/1(+15%) | (9) Mc Alpine 28/1, Sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Ballinrobe (19.2f, good, 18/1) 36 days ago. Tongue strap back on and cheekpieces on 1st time. Others preferred. 2-22 over hurdles, 0-8 over fences, hard to fancy on recent handicap form, cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (14/1 -155%) The Greek |
14/1(-155%) | (1) The Greek 14/1, One win from 2 runs last season. Creditable fourth of 9 in minor event hurdle at Wexford (17f, good to soft, 33/1) 34 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Shortlist material. 3-11 over fences, leading chance now with his fitness advanced for a Wexford hurdles run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (13/2 -44%) Marvel Fan |
13/2(-44%) | (8) Marvel Fan 13/2, Fair winner at 16f over hurdles. 12/1, first run since leaving A. J. Martin when good third of 9 in handicap chase at Clonmel (16.4f, good) 25 days ago. Possibilities. Infrequent winner, only chase win was in France in 2020, Clonmel third was encouraging. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GREAT BEAR has been a consistent sort since switching his attention to chasing and the eight-year-old ran his best race to date when going down by just a short head last time. Raised 3lb subsequently, the son of Dansili should have more to offer. Bythesametoken may have needed his reappearance at Aintree in April but shaped much better when third at Ballinrobe last time. The Ross O'Sullivan-trained Fame And Glory gelding is a former course winner who is suited to a flat track such as this. Time Marches On won over course and distance on his penultimate start. Pulled up last time, he needs to recapture that earlier form if he is to be a contender.
If GREAT BEAR puts in a good round of jumping it could be a case of fifth time lucky over fences for this 8-y-o, who posted his best effort yet in this sphere when just failing at Punchestown last month. The Greek shaped well over hurdles on the back of an 11-month absence at Wexford and he looks dangerous back over fences. Marvel Fan is third choice ahead of Bythesametoken.
With just a little improvement from his second placing at Punchestown last month GREAT BEAR can record a first chase success.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ERNIE FROM NURNEY looks very well treated here off a chase mark which is 14lb below his hurdle rating. The seven-year-old reverts to fences here having won his latest two starts over flights. Prior to that, he had run very well when third over the larger obstacles at Thurles. The Tramore winner Prince Of Air should again be competitive despite having been hit with a 7lb rise for that success. Likeable Chancer, a point-to-point and chase winner, has been running well over hurdles in recent months. Back over fences for the first time since October, the gelding enters calculations.
ERNIE FROM NURNEY has shown improved form to win his last two hurdles starts and there's good reason to believe that he'll be able to continue the good work now returned to fences. Indeed, he resumes in this sphere off a mark 5 lb below that off which he scored at Limerick last time and appeared to be getting the hang of things when third on his latest chase start. Likable Chancer and Prince of Air rate the main dangers but also look out for May Call You Back on her chase/yard debut.
This affords a good opportunity to ERNIE FORM NURNEY who is now 14lb higher over hurdles after wins at Roscommon and Limerick

|PU| (2) (16/1 -78%) Pont Audemer |
16/1(-78%) | (2) Pont Audemer 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 7/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, 36½ lengths seventh of 9 to Druim Samhraidh in handicap chase at Clonmel (16.4f, good) 25 days ago. Flopped when favourite for race won by today's rival Druim Samhraidh, unwise to rule out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FARROKH was a winner here over hurdles in May and the Barry Connell-trained gelding has subsequently run well in beginners chases over further. With the five-year-old giving the impression that he is better suited to two miles, he has to be of interest here. Recent Clonmel winner Druim Samhraidh could have more to offer on his first start for trainer Paul Flynn. The veteran won with something in hand that day, so a 6lb rise may not inconvenience him. Limerick winner Crowsatedappletart can still race off a mark which is 4lb below his hurdle rating and should be capable of making his presence felt.
FARROKH tied up late over further last time and has more to offer having his first go in a handicap chase, so he gets the nod over last-time-out winner Robin de Roost, who is likely to put up another solid showing. Crowsatedappletart is another one to consider.
A hopeful vote goes to ITSALLABOUTEVE who ran well over hurdles last time and is relatively unexposed as a chaser

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A winner of his latest two starts over fences, KILMURRY JJ can complete the hat-trick. A promising horse over hurdles for his previous connections, the seven-year-old has really blossomed since switching to fences. Although this represents a tougher ask, especially without his regular jockey on board, the gelding could be up to the job. Tullyveery Lad improved on previous efforts when a good winner at Downpatrick last time. While this track presents a very different test, the eight-year-old arrives here at the top of his game. All Walks Of Life disappointed at Listowel last time but had run well on her previous start at Clonmel.
TULLYVEERY LAD looks to have been handed a lenient opening mark based on his Downpatrick success and he's fancied to get the better of Garde La Peche, who also switches to handicaps with more to come. Kilmurry JJ is also worthy of consideration.
There should be much more to come from GARDE LA PECHE, who made a winning start to chasing at Clonmel last time, and she can win again.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The Willie Mullins-trained JUDICIEUSE ALLEN has strong claims of making a winning debut over fences. The daughter of Great Pretender has been highly tried in graded company and this represents an easier opportunity for her to record a second career success. Listed winner Space Tourist has been absent since December but that is seldom a concern with runners from the Mullins yard. Media Naranja looks the pick of two Gordon Elliott mares.
SPACE TOURIST was below form when last seen but should be freshened up now and she's the best of these over hurdles, so she's the straightforward choice. Media Naranja isn't far behind her in terms of ability, so she's a danger. Judicieuse Allen, a stablemate of the selection, could also provide stern opposition.
Though below form over hurdles when last seen at Punchestown, POPOVA could bounce back making her chasing debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Three-time winner THEONEWEDREAMOF made a promising introduction to chasing when staying on late to finish third at Kilbeggan last time. Given that she was having her first start since December, the daughter of French Navy should be all the better for that outing. Our Bobby, a winner over hurdles at Listowel last time, arrives here in great form. The gelding shaped well on two previous runs over fences so should be capable of getting involved. Arabian King also commands respect on his first start over fences.
THEONEWEDREAMOF's third at Kilbeggan on chasing debut is the best piece of form on offer and she's the type to do better, so she's preferred to Winding River, who also remains with potential as a chaser. Woodstream Lad also makes the shortlist on his first go over the larger obstacles.
A promising first run over fences at Kilbeggan gives THEONEWEDREAMOF a leading chance in a race in which several have fair claims

Tongue strap on 1st time. Should do better again and likely to take all the beating. Won a Limerick beginners' over this trip; should be a big player with a tongue-tie added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Although finding one too good on each of his last four starts over fences, DUTCH SCHULTZ can reward supporters patience. A three-time winner, the son of Golden Horn is nicely treated by these race conditions, while the small field is unlikely to trouble him. Point-to-point winner Mayor's Walk made a winning start to her chasing career at Limerick in May. The Henry De Bromhead-trained mare has to concede weight to a trio of rivals but could prove up to the task. Slip Of The Tongue is undoubtedly well in at these weights but the seven-year-old has been below his best in recent times. However, given the excellent form of trainer Padraig Roche, a revival wouldn't be out of the question.
MAYOR'S WALK made an excellent start to her chase career when scoring at Limerick in May and, with improvement on the cards, she's fancied to defy a penalty at the possible expense of Dutch Schultz, who is closely matched on form at the weights. Purse Price isn't one to rule out.
Having put some poor hurdle runs behind her when winning a Limerick beginners' chase last time, MAYOR'S WALK can take this.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
