13:52 Thirsk Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ANN TERRY made a debut full of promise when chasing home a couple of useful colts at Ayr and natural improvement could be enough to see her break through. William Haggas must be feared when he sends one to Thirsk and his Art Design has shown more than enough to warrant an interest. Li Ban has experience on her side, while Neytiri Te Tskaha didn't get the rub of the green at Beverley and is capable of much better.

This can go to ANN TERRY, who made a pleasing start at Ayr earlier this month and should have learnt plenty from that experience. Neytiri Te Tskaha and Li Ban rate the principal dangers.

This may be best left to once-raced improvers ANN TERRY and Neytiri Te Tskaha, with preference for the former.

14:22 Thirsk Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There would be no more deserving winner than Genesius, but he may have to settle for yet another supporting role because ROGUE TORNADO was beaten just half a length into third when attempting to supplement a Leicester triumph at Doncaster and is open to plenty more improvement. There was a bit more to like about Bustaam's Carlisle third last week and he rounds out the shortlist.

The return to slower conditions should suit C&D winner GENESIUS, and he can get back on the scoreboard here. Rogue Tornado and Bustaam are feared most.

The consistent GENESIUS can deservedly get his head back in front returned to the scene of his win last summer.

14:52 Thirsk Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GLORY HYDE proved her 20/1 C&D victory was no fluke when sharing second at Pontefract and she appears capable of taking another step forward off the same mark. Ingleby Archie has been raised 3lb for his breakthrough success at Redcar, but must still be feared. Scoops Ahoy and Keldeo shouldn't be too far away, nor should Stash The Cash provided he settles a bit better.

It could be worth staying with INGLEBY ARCHIE now he has found the winning habit. He remains on a workable mark. Scoops Ahoy and Stash The Cash can also make their presence felt.

Scoops Ahoy (second choice) and Ingleby Archie are feared but GLORY HYDE looks on an upward trajectory and can win again.

15:22 Thirsk Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GERMANIC left a mediocre debut effort behind him when beating a previous winner by 11 lengths over 7f at Newcastle last month, and the son of Saxon Warrior should be very tough to stop with a reproduction of that. Fellow last-time-out winner Bobby Bennu also created a favourable impression at Chester and he can give the selection most to think about. Ten Pounds is also noteworthy.

GERMANIC looked a smart prospect when scoring at Newcastle last month and is taken to follow up. Ten Pounds and Bobby Bennu also arrive on an upward curve and are the obvious dangers.

Top of the list is GERMANIC, who easily made all at Newcastle, and he earns the vote ahead of Ten Pounds then Bobby Bennu.

15:52 Thirsk Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Vince Le Prince took advantage of a tumbling mark to score gamely over 7f at Leicester earlier this month, and he must enter calculations in a race of this nature. Preference is for ANIMATE. He wasn't unsupported in the market when bouncing back to form over 6f at Catterick last month and a 2lb rise may prove lenient given that plenty went wrong for him in the run. Abruzzo Mia and Challet are a couple of others to consider.

Preference is for ON A SESSION, who has been cut some slack by the handicapper and should have conditions to suit. Vince Le Prince and Animate head the list of dangers.

A losing streak of 16 hardly makes ON A SESSION a strong selection but he's generally plied his trade in higher grades than this.

(9) Lord Abama 40/1, Landed back-to-back C&D handicaps with blinkers enlisted prior to finishing a good fourth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (6f) 25 days ago. Possibilities again in this groove.
Two C&D wins in these blinkers this season and can make another bold bid.

Up and down this season, and below par last Saturday, but won over C&D (soft) in April.

Fair fifth last time; a bigger run could be forthcoming now back on a slow surface.

(3) Roach Power 50/1, Ended 2023 on the up with victories here (7f) and Haydock but has yet to scale same heights in handful of starts since the spring, well held fourteenth of 20 in handicap at York (6f, soft) 32 days ago. Has fallen to last winning mark at least.
Won final two runs last season but has struggled on his four runs this year.

Disappointing the last twice but he's won on his last two visits to Thirsk.

(5) William Dewhirst 100/1, C&D winner who went backwards from his reappearance when last of 9 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good) in April. Given a break ahead of this and better showing anticipated with a hood now fitted.
Only ninth on both runs this season but the return to slow ground looks a positive.

16:22 Thirsk Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DAZY MAZY arrives here having won two of her last three starts, finishing a neck second on the other occasion, and a 2lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop the in-form filly. That said, Lord Abama has also been in good form of late and should not be discounted, while Fortamour and Music Society complete the shortlist.

A competitive sprint contest with the vote in favour of DAZY MAZY. John Mackie's filly has found some progress since returning to turf in recent months, doubling her tally in determined style at Doncaster 46 days ago. She looks a likely player again up 2 lb. Fortamour, who has been in good form at Ripon, and the potentially well-treated Roach Power are others to consider, along with Lord Abama.

The thriving filly DAZY MAZY (nap) is taken to make it three wins from her last four starts. Lord Abama also arrives in rude health.

16:55 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It is very hard to oppose YAZAMAN, who has racked up a hat-trick in recent months and further 5lb rise may still vastly underestimate the six-year-old. Saaheq has not been disgraced on his last couple of starts and the veteran should not be discounted in this company. The unexposed Equity's Darling edges out Havagomecca and Mereside Angel to be best of the rest.

YAZAMAN has been revitalised by the refitting of blinkers, completing the hat-trick with a bit to spare at Wetherby (5.5f) early last month. He looks a serious player once more and can get the 4-timer up. Mereside Angel is another to bear in mind from his reduced mark. The selection's stablemate J R Cavagin can also bounce back returned to the minimum trip.

The Paul Midgley-trained YAZAMAN has been in fine form since the blinkers went back on and he can make it four wins in a row.
