1st (8) (7/2 -133%) Swift Hawk |
7/2(-133%) | (8) Swift Hawk 7/2, Fair form on Flat, stays 1½m, runner-up in novice last time. Sold from William Knight 85,000 gns later in August. Needs considering now hurdling for top yard. Runner-up in three of five Flat starts for William Knight, staying 1m4f; fetched 85,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/4 +69%) Orchestra |
5/4(+69%) | (6) Orchestra 5/4, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat, stays 11f, ran respectably last time. Sold from Ed Dunlop 55,000 gns in October and one to note switched to hurdles. Two wins (1m/1m2f) from 17 Flat starts for Ed Dunlop and of useful ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (80/1 +20%) Marrakushi |
80/1(+20%) | (5) Marrakushi 80/1, Well held in bumper/maiden hurdle for David Pipe. Tailed off and pulled up in two runs in these colours for David Pipe. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/2 -11%) Mojo Ego |
5/2(-11%) | (1) Mojo Ego 5/2, Won on the Flat in France for Jean-Claude Rouget and runner-up on the second of 2 hurdle starts there last spring. Much better for yard debut/return when winning 3-runner juvenile hurdle at Doncaster (16.6f, good) 43 days ago and the one to beat under a penalty. Fair fourth at Kempton before beating two rivals on good ground at Doncaster. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (80/1 -220%) Pure Gold |
80/1(-220%) | (9) Pure Gold 80/1, Fair handicapper at best on Flat, barely stays 1½m, well below form last 2 starts. Sold from David Menuisier 1,000 gns in October. 7f AW winner but lost his way and was sold on for only 1,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (150/1 -127%) Future Times |
150/1(-127%) | (3) Future Times 150/1, Modest maiden on the Flat for Jedd O'Keeffe and 150/1 when down the field on his Exeter hurdle debut 34 days ago. 150-1 when tailed off on his switch to hurdling at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (50/1 -100%) Queen Of Steel |
50/1(-100%) | (10) Queen Of Steel 50/1, Poor maiden on the Flat and ran to only a similar level when second of 4 on hurdle debut at Fontwell last month. Dropped away quickly there since. Limited maiden and her second at Fontwell looks dodgy form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 -186%) Right Now |
40/1(-186%) | (7) Right Now 40/1, Fairly useful maiden on the Flat. Dropped away before the last to finish sixth on his Cork hurdle debut (final start for Joseph O'Brien) and failed to meet expectations on yard debut when well held at Ludlow last month, giving his rider a fairly hard time. Cheekpieces on. Sixth in both his hurdles, latterly on British debut at Ludlow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (14/1 -17%) Rebel Angel |
14/1(-17%) | (11) Rebel Angel 14/1, Fair 5-time Flat winner but showed little aptitude for hurdling at Cheltenham 2 weeks ago, albeit in a much better race than this. This will be easier than at Cheltenham but current wellbeing a bit of an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (11/1 -38%) Albert Park |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Albert Park 11/1, Fair form in pair of maidens on Flat, mid-division last time. Sold from Joseph Patrick O'Brien 16,000 gns in July and gelded. Bought for 16,000gns after showing promise in two Irish 1m4f maidens. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (125/1 -150%) Garrick Street |
125/1(-150%) | (4) Garrick Street 125/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1m) for Andrew Balding. Sold for £7,000 and went with no encouragement switched to hurdles for new yard at Exeter last month. 80-1 and was tailed off when pulled up on his jumps debut at Exeter. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MOJO EGO got off the mark at Doncaster in November and the son of Intello is clearly the one to beat here with his rider's 5lb claim largely negating his 7lb penalty. Swift Hawk filled second place over 1m4f three times on the Flat and has to be of interest on his hurdling bow, while Orchestra and Right Now are others to consider.
MOJO EGO got off the mark over hurdles at the fourth attempt on his second start for this yard at Doncaster 6 weeks ago and his experience may prove decisive up against a couple of interesting Flat recruits, namely Swift Hawk and Orchestra.
Mojo Ego has clear claims but the newcomers to hurdling are interesting and SWIFT HAWK was the most expensive at the sales.

1st (2) (10/11 -14%) Centara |
10/11(-14%) | (2) Centara 10/11, Mirrored her dam by making an impressive winning bumper debut at this course in March. Ruined his chance by refusing to settle in a Grade 2 at Aintree a month later but should have learnt plenty from last month's Newbury hurdling debut when badly in need of the experience. Fourth at Newbury on return; some quirks need ironing out but he has ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (11/2 +31%) Thunder N Lightnin |
11/2(+31%) | (11) Thunder N Lightnin 11/2, Placed on both of his starts in points and shaped like a stayer when sixth of 13 in a Kempton novice (21f) on debut in November. This looks less competitive. Placed in both points and should improve on his 20l defeat at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 -35%) Long Draw |
9/2(-35%) | (4) Long Draw 9/2, €22,000 3-y-o, £60,000 4-y-o, Affinisea gelding. Dam unraced sister to fairly useful but moody chaser (stayed 25f) Viking Splash. Runner-up on completed start in Irish points (Mar 26) and needs considering on Rules bow for good yard. Bought for £60,000 after finishing second in a decent-looking Irish point in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (40/1 -60%) Native Moon |
40/1(-60%) | (6) Native Moon 40/1, Down the field in a bumper/maiden hurdle and won't be of interest this side of handicaps. Beat one home in a Ffos Las bumper and the same again in a Chepstow maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (50/1 -52%) Outside Adesa |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Outside Adesa 50/1, Runner-up both starts in Irish points but well held completed start over hurdles. Ran okay from front here last month until weakening after a late mistake (not his first). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (18/1 -29%) Mersey Street |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Mersey Street 18/1, Second in an Irish point and has shown promise in bumpers/over hurdles but looks the type to do better when sent handicapping (needs this for a mark). Flashes of promise but a suspicion that handicaps will see him in the best light. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (33/1 -136%) Owl Of Athens |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Owl Of Athens 33/1, €27,000 3-y-o, Court Cave gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Townhill Penny, stays 3m. Dam unraced half-sister to Grand National runner-up Pleasant Company. Market for clues. 27,000euros 3yo; fourth foal; half-brother to 2m6f hurdle winner Townhill Penny. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (100/1 +0%) Miss Popalong |
100/1(+0%) | (13) Miss Popalong 100/1, Finished tailed off in a Ludlow bumper on debut last month. Most likely one for later on. 80-1 when completely tailed off in a Ludlow bumper a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (200/1 -100%) Dora's Addrezz |
200/1(-100%) | (12) Dora's Addrezz 200/1, Offered little tongue tied in a Newton Abbot bumper on only outing for Brian Barr. Tailed off in a good-ground bumper at Newton Abbot when trained by Brian Barr. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (14) (28/1 -133%) Nila |
28/1(-133%) | (14) Nila 28/1, Dam half-sister to useful hurdler/chase winner (stayed 2½m) Nexius. Fair on Flat in France, won 1¾m claimer on final 3-y-o start (claimed from Peter Schiergen €21,000 after). One to consider on hurdle debut. Won fourth race on the Flat, coming well clear in a 1m6f Saint-Cloud claimer in June 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (66/1 -164%) Super Sabre Sam |
66/1(-164%) | (10) Super Sabre Sam 66/1, Black Sam Bellamy gelding who is likely to need time and distance and shaped accordingly in a Sandown bumper on debut 48 days ago. 25-1 when sixth of seven runners in a soft-ground bumper at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (15/2 +38%) Perfect Nelson |
15/2(+38%) | (9) Perfect Nelson 15/2, Fair form when twice runner-up in bumpers in Ireland for Peter Fahey in May. Shaped as if in need of the run after 5 months off when sixth in a Wincanton novice hurdle in October but was beaten in a share of fifth when crumpling on landing last at Kempton last time. Was on the retreat when falling at Kempton; others have achieved more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 -136%) Guivinec |
33/1(-136%) | (3) Guivinec 33/1, £55,000 buy after landing the second of his 2 starts in Irish points but no more than hinted at ability in Ascot bumper and fared little better sent hurdling at Chepstow last month. Point winner but it's been a very underwhelming start under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (66/1 -164%) Bingo Little |
66/1(-164%) | (1) Bingo Little 66/1, Has folded tamely in a bumper/both starts over hurdles so easily passed over. Shown no benefit for wind surgery with his struggles continuing over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CENTARA showed enough promise on his hurdling debut at Newbury at the beginning of the month to suggest that he can be successful in a race of this nature. Long Draw was second in an Irish point in March and should not be underestimated on his first start under Rules. French Flat winner Nila edges out Thunder N Lightnin to be the pick of the rest.
Course bumper winner CENTARA should have derived plenty from last month's hurdling debut at Newbury when badly in need of the experience, so he's selected to open his account at the second time of asking in this sphere. Thunder N Lightnin offered something to work on at Kempton on his belated Rules debut and may improve, with Long Draw and Nila others to consider.
This may go to CENTARA. He's a long way from being the finished article but is probably the most talented of these.

1st (7) (5/1 -43%) Hard Frost |
5/1(-43%) | (7) Hard Frost 5/1, Bred for chasing and has recorded some encouraging efforts so far in this sphere, including when second at Market Rasen on return. Should strip fitter for that and likely to get the longer trip. Runner-up in three of his four chases; major player if this step up in trip suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/2 -117%) Miltiades |
13/2(-117%) | (2) Miltiades 13/2, Delivered on previous encouragement in this sphere when belatedly opening his account at Ludlow earlier in the month. Has the potential for better still, so well respected. Came good over fences at Ludlow (2m4f) this month; tries a new trip today; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (7/2 +30%) Ballinoulart |
7/2(+30%) | (8) Ballinoulart 7/2, Low-mileage sort who was third in a pair of 3m handicap chases in the spring. Runner-up both starts at Hereford this term and is likely to be on the premises again. Placed in all four chases but will have something to prove if the ground turns soft here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (10/1 +60%) Barrowmount |
10/1(+60%) | (9) Barrowmount 10/1, Sole win came in Stratford maiden hurdle in May 2021. However, mixed bag since, running poorly again over fences at Wincanton 11 days ago. Well handicapped on hurdling form but well beaten in two chases this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +8%) Furkash |
6/1(+8%) | (5) Furkash 6/1, Sloppy jumper but often gives his running and wasn't discredited over C&D last month. Place claims. 0-13 over fences but dropped another 2lb since last month's C&D third; enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (3/1 +25%) Safe Destination |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Safe Destination 3/1, Not the most reliable but has won two of his last three outings and had a bit to spare at Ludlow on latest, so obviously needs considering. 2-4 over fences; open to further progress but too inconsistent to rely upon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (14/1 +30%) He'llstopatthetop |
14/1(+30%) | (4) He'llstopatthetop 14/1, Maiden pointer who hasn't factoed in three goes over hurdles. May do better in this sphere now handicapping but something to prove all the same. Showed nothing more than glimmers of promise over hurdles; chase/handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (16/1 -33%) Moodofthemoment |
16/1(-33%) | (1) Moodofthemoment 16/1, Showed some ability over hurdles but bombed out switched to handicaps last 2 starts. Off 7 months/tongue strap on for 1st time. Should at least make a better chaser (winning Irish pointer). Pulled up in both handicap hurdles but could still have a good future over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (33/1 +0%) Noah's Light |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Noah's Light 33/1, Arrives below par, only seventh at Plumpton last time, and others make more appeal. Hurdle winner in Ireland in November 2021 but very disappointing for this stable since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ballinoulart has been knocking on the door of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, along with the recent Market Rasen second Hard Frost. That said, preference is for MILTIADES, who got off the mark over 2m4f at Ludlow a few weeks ago and 3lb rise for that success appears to be fair. The shortlist is completed by Safe Destination and Furkash.
HARD FROST is unexposed as a chaser and likely to come on for his positive reappearance at Market Rasen, so he's narrowly preferred to Miltiades, who opened his account last time. Safe Destination is also of interest for all that consistency isn't his strong suit.
This can go to MILTIADES (nap), who does not look harshly treated by a 3lb rise for his recent 2m4f win and can improve again.

1st (6) (5/6 +49%) Queens Gamble |
5/6(+49%) | (6) Queens Gamble 5/6, Listed bumper winner for Oliver Sherwood who is a perfect 2-2 over hurdles, latterly well on top at the finish in 2m Kempton novice on her first outing for Harry Derham. Likely has more to give for her new trainer and the one to beat. Quality mare who is unbeaten over hurdles and she's taken to complete the hat-trick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 -23%) Casa No Mento |
2/1(-23%) | (2) Casa No Mento 2/1, Narrowly denied by the reopposing Larchmont Lass in a Sandown listed bumper last season and has taken really well to hurdling, winning mares maiden at Market Rasen and novice at Hereford (both 2m, good). Likely has more to come. Smart in bumpers and pretty much unchallenged in two hurdle victories. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 -25%) Jaminska |
10/1(-25%) | (3) Jaminska 10/1, Built on her debut promise when landing 2m juvenile at Hereford (heavy) in January. First start since when second of 14 in 19f handicap here 6 weeks ago. More will be needed at this level but she's open to further progress. Has a bit on her plate on these terms but she's entitled to improve some more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 -54%) Larchmont Lass |
10/1(-54%) | (4) Larchmont Lass 10/1, Useful form in bumpers, including a Sandown listed win in March. Beaten 24 lengths when second on her C&D hurdle debut but that bumper ability suggests she can do a lot better in this sphere. Her top stable has won this 4 times since 2014. Bumper form brings her into should be wiser for recent debut over hurdles here (second). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (33/1 -230%) Obsessedwithyou |
33/1(-230%) | (5) Obsessedwithyou 33/1, Won junior events at Wetherby and Hereford last term. A little below that level when a beaten favourite in 2 handicap starts this season (well-held second latterly) and likely vulnerable in this company. Beaten in two handicaps this season and has to raise her game on these terms. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (150/1 -200%) Barbie Girlz |
150/1(-200%) | (1) Barbie Girlz 150/1, Poor form in a couple of Irish bumpers (remote fourth second occasion). Pitched in at the deep end on her hurdle debut for a new stable. Beaten 23l and 28l in two soft-ground Irish bumpers and has a lot to prove at this level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
QUEENS GAMBLE was imperious in her first two bumper appearances, and it has been a similar story since being switched to hurdles. The daughter of Getaway can continue her ascendency at this higher level and she gets the vote, though Harry Derham's mare would not want conditions to deteriorate. Casa No Mento, who sets the standard on official ratings, looks to be the main danger, while Larchmont Lass heads the remainder.
QUEENS GAMBLE won at listed level in bumpers and can repeat the feat over hurdles. Like the selection Caso No Mento arrives with a 2-2 record over hurdles and can provide the chief threat ahead of Larchmont Lass.
It was a lot more like it from QUEENS GAMBLE at Kempton and this quality mare can maintain her unbeaten record over hurdles.

1st (2) (13/2 -8%) Moka De Vassy |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Moka De Vassy 13/2, Fairly useful maiden hurdler who ran well when third over 23f at Exeter in October. Merely added to his patchy record when well beaten in a big field at Cheltenham but this is less competitive. Has yet to win a race but the ability is there to put that right off current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (13/8 +60%) King Of The Lake |
13/8(+60%) | (5) King Of The Lake 13/8, Fair form when finishing in the first 3 on all 4 starts over hurdles, although he was beaten just over 11 lengths when third of 7 on 18.5f Exeter handicap debut last month. The longer trip needs to spark some improvement. Lightly raced and consistent; might well improve for this step up in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 +7%) Game Winner |
13/8(+7%) | (4) Game Winner 13/8, Novice hurdle winner last season. Not disgraced in 2 novice handicap chases this term but his jumping has been a bit of an issue and the return to hurdles could be a good move. Cheekpieces on first time. Likely on a good mark. Winning hurdler; mistakes cost him over fences this season; probably on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 +0%) Ballydisco |
5/1(+0%) | (3) Ballydisco 5/1, Made an inauspicious start over fences at Chepstow last month but quickly back hurdling and is a fairly useful dual winner in this sphere. Cheekpieces go on for the first time. Below par on both starts this season, the latest a chase; bit to prove; cheekpieces go on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Game Winner will need to jump with more fluency than he did over fences here last time, but he remains open to further improvement and could be given an added boost by the application of cheekpieces for the first time. However, preference is for the Fergal O'Brien-trained HURRICANE HARVEY, who posted a solid fourth at a higher level on his latest outing and would appear to have an excellent chance now eased in class. King Of The Lake is also noted.
The fences have got in the way a little for GAME WINNER on his 2 starts this season and he can show he's on a good mark back hurdling in first-time headgear. The reliable Hurricane Harvey could be the one for the forecast spot.
This can go to GAME WINNER. Mistakes have held him back over fences this season and he's probably on a good mark.

1st (3) (16/5 -16%) Pedley Wood |
16/5(-16%) | (3) Pedley Wood 16/5, Successful on his sole outing in points and having had a breathing operation, made a winning start over fences (fitted with a tongue strap) after 7 months off at Hereford (25.2f, good to soft) last month. Up 4 lb and every chance he will be bang there again. Hereford race fell apart but only up 4lb and open to further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (18/1 -29%) Unblinking |
18/1(-29%) | (5) Unblinking 18/1, Opened chase account at the fourth attempt in a weak race at Hereford (25f, good) back in February. Posted pair of solid runner-up efforts both starts in May and presumably was having a pipe-opener when tailed off over hurdles at Exeter (21.6f, heavy) 9 days ago. Back over fences now. Two good chase runs in May and last week's quiet reappearance was over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (7/1 +30%) Williamdeconqueror |
7/1(+30%) | (8) Williamdeconqueror 7/1, Yet to win a race of any description but went very close at Lingfield on return last month. Failed by a long chalk to repeat that when finishing a well-beaten third at Exeter (24.2f, heavy) earlier this month so tough to enthuse over. Hard knowing what to expect from this 12-race maiden but capable of a bold show. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (33/1 -175%) Enforcement |
33/1(-175%) | (9) Enforcement 33/1, Got off the mark over fences at Uttoxeter (24f) in summer of 2021 but has clearly had his problems since, restricted to just 4 runs and making little impact. Significantly back up in trip. Poor strike-rate and wouldn't be the percentage call from 3lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (13/2 -44%) Dindin |
13/2(-44%) | (1) Dindin 13/2, Successful at Worcester (23f) in June but has been rather in-and-out since, beaten only by a thriving sort who had the race run to suit at this course (23f, good to soft) just over 6 weeks ago. Consistency not his strong suit, but certainly capable on a going day. Capable but inconsistent and stamina for this far isn't entirely copperbottomed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (5/1 +29%) Paseo |
5/1(+29%) | (7) Paseo 5/1, Unreliable sort though did win at Ludlow off this mark on return last November. Lacklustre efforts on last 2 starts (latest after 6 months off) but yard struggling to put a foot wrong this winter. Potentially well handicapped but with a point to prove right now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/5 -7%) Concrete King |
16/5(-7%) | (6) Concrete King 16/5, Four-time winner between the flags but he's 0-15 under Rules. However, he's fallen to a very attractive mark and having been well backed, wasn't seen to best effect under an excessively patient ride when finishing a close third at Southwell (25.8f, soft) just under 2 weeks ago. Lots to like. New headgear combination did him no harm when only a length away at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (9/1 -13%) Sforza Castle |
9/1(-13%) | (2) Sforza Castle 9/1, Modest form at best in 5 hurdles starts in the summer and ran poorly sent chasing after 3 months off at Lingfield (23.5f, good to soft) earlier this month. Bred to stay well, so this longer trip could unlock some much-needed improvement. Made no impact whatsoever on his switch to fences in a 2m7f handicap at Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (18/1 -13%) Putdecashonthedash |
18/1(-13%) | (4) Putdecashonthedash 18/1, Signed off 2021/22 on a winning note at Plumpton but he rarely stands much racing and has shown next to nothing in 3 starts this season. Mark continues to tumble. Defied 17lb higher mark nearly two years ago but has shown precious little in the meantime. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A taking winner on his chase debut at Hereford last month, PEDLEY WOOD is open to plenty more improvement as he looks to overcome a 4lb rise for that success. Wind surgery certainly had a positive effect on the six-year-old and he gets the vote ahead of Concrete King, who wasn't beaten far at Southwell last time out. Runner-up on two of his last three starts, the veteran Dindin can also have a say in proceedings.
This can go to CONCRETE KING, who wasn't seen to best effect under an excessively patient ride when finishing a close third at Southwell just under a fortnight ago and Neil Mulholland's 9-y-o can belatedly open his account under Rules. Consistency is by no means Dindin's strong suit but he can give the selection most to do, with last-time-out winner Pedley Wood and Paseo rounding off the shortlist.
A repeat of CONCRETE KING's rallying third at Southwell should put him right in the thick of things.

1st (3) (6/4 -25%) Individualiste |
6/4(-25%) | (3) Individualiste 6/4, Fair on the Flat in France and off the mark for current yard in C&D novice in March last year. After a 20-month absence, has made the frame in 2 of his 3 starts in handicaps this season, running well when third back here 16 days ago. Major player with cheekpieces added. If his jumping sharpens up for cheekpieces he should have a major say. |

2nd (7) (66/1 +0%) Freddie Fleetfoot |
66/1(+0%) | (7) Freddie Fleetfoot 66/1, Has offered little in varied events over hurdles, faring no better after 7 months off when down the field in maiden at Exeter 17 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Has no obvious form claims and especially from so far out of the weights. |

3rd (5) (5/2 +9%) Nordic Tiger |
5/2(+9%) | (5) Nordic Tiger 5/2, French import who, refitted with a tongue tie, shaped better on his third start for current yard when third in handicap at Lingfield (2m) 19 days ago, ridden a shade more patiently. Remains early days so he could still have more to offer upped in trip. Lightly raced and went down by under 2l on handicap debut; longer trip can benefit. |

4th (1) (12/1 -85%) Mr Muldoon |
12/1(-85%) | (1) Mr Muldoon 12/1, Solid third in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (21.5f) on reappearance but failed to build on that at Ffos Las next time. Again below form back over fences at Lingfield 19 days ago, but he's now down to his last winning mark so he's not discounted returned to hurdling. Form can fluctuate but he ran well over hurdles at Newton Abbot in October. |

|PU| (6) (5/1 +17%) Well Vicky |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Well Vicky 5/1, Won her first 3 handicaps last term, completing a quick-fire hat-trick at Plumpton (2m) in February. Run of good form halted at Cheltenham in April and pulled up on her return last month, but she's edged back down in the weights as a result with in-form jockey on board. Possibilities if returning to her winning level after two below-par efforts. |

|PU| (2) (5/1 +38%) Fleurman |
5/1(+38%) | (2) Fleurman 5/1, Market Rasen juvenile hurdle winner and, after a poor effort on his final start in 2022, recorded back-to-back wins on the Flat in February. Tailed off at Royal Ascot when last seen, but he's on a workable mark back hurdling with tongue strap now applied. Useful Flat performer; maiden winner over hurdles who should be well handicapped. |

|PU| (4) (66/1 -230%) Bonheur De Ballon |
66/1(-230%) | (4) Bonheur De Ballon 66/1, Won claiming hurdle (18.9f) in France in November last year but has struggled in 2 outings for his current yard, having another wind op prior to finishing well held at Doncaster 15 days ago. Cheekpieces back on, but he has something to prove at present. Poor in both his runs for this yard and cheekpieces are added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
INDIVIDUALISTE's only career win came over C&D in March 2022 and he showed some promise again when third over this track and trip earlier in the month. He has been helped by a 1lb drop in the ratings following that effort and may have enough to see off Nordic Tiger, who ran a career-best when third at Lingfield last time out and should be open to improvement now tackling further. Consistent Flat performer Fleurman cannot be ruled out either on his return to this sphere.
INDIVIDUALISTE took a step back in the right direction when third at this C&D 16 days ago, despite making his effort away from the principals in the straight, so he is taken to return to winning ways with cheekpieces on first time. Nordic Tiger could yet do better for his current yard and is feared most, ahead of Well Vicky.
Olly Murphy's FLEURMAN makes a belated return to hurdling after a productive year on the Flat and he should be very well handicapped.
Ths is the racecard key.
