1st (3) (9/2 -13%) One Last Glance |
9/2(-13%) | (3) One Last Glance 9/2, Yet to win but generally consistent so probably worth forgiving his latest remote third of 4 over fences at Bangor when last seen in March. Resumes in this sphere back from a break on a workable mark and should make his presence felt. Has been chasing; maiden hurdler but has placed form and this mark is workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 +0%) Coup De Gold |
8/1(+0%) | (6) Coup De Gold 8/1, Won over 17f at Sedgefield for David Thompson in January and has made the frame on 2 of his 3 completed starts since switched to present yard. Not without each-way hope but yard fields a more intriguing candidate in the shape of handicap debutant Mount Washington. Strike-rate of 2-66 but both wins were over hurdles and only had four runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 -21%) Fresh Speculation |
10/3(-21%) | (1) Fresh Speculation 10/3, Signs of ability in maiden/novice company and has predictably raised his game switched to handicaps the last twice, latterly finishing third of 13 with Alice Stevens aboard at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) in April. Drop back in trip could be a good move and he's a must for the shortlist. In the region of 6l away in his two handicaps at about 2m3f and goes on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 -20%) Good Impression |
9/1(-20%) | (4) Good Impression 9/1, Latest success was gained off 2 lb higher mark at Newton Abbot last September and shaped as though his turn may again be near when placed in handicaps at that course and over 18.7f here in July. Latest effort back at Newton Abbot was poor (reportedly lost his action) but fighting chance if on-song. Two placed efforts before losing his action the last time; exposed but has claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 +39%) Raise Your Glass |
17/2(+39%) | (5) Raise Your Glass 17/2, Appeared to improve a touch when runner-up on second start for this yard here in March but subsequent handicap debut back at this venue the following month lacked spark. Now tried in a tongue strap. Second here in March and drying ground to blame when quiet on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (15/2 +6%) Mount Washington |
15/2(+6%) | (2) Mount Washington 15/2, Showed a fair level of ability when third on first of 2 runs in bumpers. Little to shout about in his qualifying runs in this sphere but it's not hard to envisage this 5-y-o taking a step forward now pitched into a handicap. He's by no means devoid of ability and goes handicapping at a realistic level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (50/1 +67%) Straitouttacompton |
50/1(+67%) | (9) Straitouttacompton 50/1, Poor on Flat nowadays and, having offered little over hurdles so far, he's 14 lb 'wrong' at the weights for his handicap debut in this sphere. Tailed off in a claimer on final jumps run and 14lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (3/1 +57%) Night Jet |
3/1(+57%) | (8) Night Jet 3/1, Wasn't beaten far when fifth in an 8-runner Ludlow handicap (15.8f, heavy) on final run of last season but record stands at 0-10 over hurdles and it's hard to be sure what his optimum trip is. Maiden who has had a few chances in handicaps but was only 4l away last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (28/1 -460%) Dreaming Diamond |
28/1(-460%) | (7) Dreaming Diamond 28/1, Bumper winner who produced just about her best effort yet over jumps when finding just one too good in a 15.8f Uttoxeter handicap hurdle on latest start in July. Changed hands since and by no means certain to build on that but she will be a threat if able to do so. Bumper winner; changed yards but repeat of Uttoxeter second would see her in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DREAMING DIAMOND finished over nine lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot in this grade at Uttoxeter in July and she has since switched to the Max Young stable. The daughter of Shirocco is only 1lb higher and she looks the one to beat. One Last Glance finished third when last seen over the smaller obstacles at Plumpton in January and is a consistent performer to note, while Fresh Speculation rates best of the rest.
The vote goes to FRESH SPECULATION, who shaped as though the drop back to this trip would be in his favour when third at Chepstow on his final appearance of last season. He resumes on the same mark and, with just a handful of runs under his belt, this 6-y-o's best days are surely still ahead of him. One Last Glance is second choice ahead of potential improver Mount Washington, while Good Impression will also be a threat if he puts his best foot forward.
There's no standout contender. Henry Daly has had a recent winner and FRESH SPECULATION has run well in both his handicaps.

1st (1) (8/13 +67%) Westerninthepark |
8/13(+67%) | (1) Westerninthepark 8/13, Bumper winner who was progressive over hurdles for Anthony Charlton last season, scoring at Plumpton and Fakenham prior to finishing a good fifth of 17 in a Grade 3 Sandown handicap (2½m, soft) in March. Very much of interest starting out over fences for new yard here. Creditable fifth in EBF Final on handicap hurdle debut; now chasing for new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (40/1 +0%) As Tears Go By |
40/1(+0%) | (8) As Tears Go By 40/1, Hit the target twice for Gordon Elliott in 2023 but it's been tough going in 4 starts for new connections since returning to action during the summer, most recently finishing well held on chase debut at Worcester. Out of form for new stable this season but still worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 -113%) Belargus |
16/1(-113%) | (2) Belargus 16/1, Lightly-raced and largely below his best since latest success at Sandown in April 2021 but ended last season by finishing a solid second in first-time blinkers at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft). Record when fresh isn't compelling and goes without blinkers this time but he's a player nonetheless. Placed off much reduced mark in blinkers at end of last season but others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/1 -71%) Innisfree Lass |
6/1(-71%) | (7) Innisfree Lass 6/1, Improved upped in trip/with cheekpieces fitted when running out a wide-margin winner of 2 handicap hurdles at Southwell (24.3f, heavy) during second half of last term. Gone up 12 lb for latest success but she will be a danger to all if her jumping passes the test now switched to fences. Big improver over hurdles when cheekpices were added last season; chase debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (6/1 +14%) Clondaw Royale |
6/1(+14%) | (5) Clondaw Royale 6/1, Made an encouraging start over hurdles when landing a Bangor maiden here last December. However, he has failed to progress in 2 subsequent completions, including on chase debut back at the aforementioned track in June. Just a respectable fourth on chase debut in June but may fare better on this slower ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (13/2 +28%) Petticoat Lucy |
13/2(+28%) | (6) Petticoat Lucy 13/2, Fair hurdler who was successful at Newton Abbot and Exeter on her first 2 starts over fences. Appeared to be in contention when brought down at Cheltenham on latest appearance last December and she will be in with a shout if ready to roll. Absent since December but won readily when fresh a year ago and is only 1lb higher now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Innisfree Lass barely saw another rival when bolting up over hurdles at Southwell in April and she is one to take seriously on her chase debut. However, BELARGUS gets the vote. Nick Gifford's nine-year-old showed a lot more in first-time blinkers over an extended 2m7f at Huntingdon on his latest outing and can defy a 1lb rise. William Cody is another to keep an eye on after his second at Market Rasen in April.
While it's tempting to side with those with experience over fences, if WESTERNINTHEPARK and Innisfree Lass take well to the larger obstacles at the first time of asking they could emerge as the chief protagonists. Preference is for the former, who acquitted himself well in a valuable novices' handicap hurdle at Sandown on his final run of last season and he brings a good deal of potential to the table. Imac Wood has race-fitness on his side and is best of the rest.
Preference is for PETTICOAT LUCY (nap), who returned from a layoff with a pretty stylish win at Exeter a year ago and is on a good mark.

1st (4) (12/1 0%) Lexie's Moon |
12/1(0%) | (4) Lexie's Moon 12/1, Got off the mark at Huntingdon in March but pulled up on his handicap debut at Kelso (18.1f, good to soft) in April. Needs to hit the ground running after 6 months off. Maiden winner over 2m on soft but ran no race on her handicap debut at Kelso in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 -14%) It's Easy |
8/1(-14%) | (5) It's Easy 8/1, Fairly useful maiden chaser in France for David Cottin but just respectable efforts at best for Clive Boultbee-Brooks here. Needs this yard switch to spark a resurgence. Having first start over hurdles in Britain but may need further than 2m these days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (18/1 +28%) River Robe |
18/1(+28%) | (6) River Robe 18/1, Winner at Market Rasen in June for Dan Skelton. Left that yard cheaply and well below par both runs for current yard at Stratford and Ludlow. Others appeal more. Ex-Skelton winner; hasn't been close to best in two runs for current outfit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 -20%) Ip Up |
4/1(-20%) | (1) Ip Up 4/1, Fair hurdler/chaser in France who won 2m handicap hurdles at Fakenham and Newcastle upon joining this yard. Came in last of 5 on return in 2m Hexham handicap chase but not ruled out switched back to hurdles. Did well hurdling last season and may have needed comeback run over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/2 +17%) Strong Belle |
5/2(+17%) | (3) Strong Belle 5/2, Bagged 2m mares' maiden at Bangor in February but pulled up on her handicap debut at Kelso in May. Yard is going well so no surprise to see her bounce back here off a handy-looking mark. Maiden winner; downgraded here from handicap debut when pulled up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/4 -17%) Greyval |
7/4(-17%) | (2) Greyval 7/4, Dual winner in juvenile hurdles in 2022/23 season, including a listed event at Doncaster. Largely creditable efforts since, including when off 5 months before a fading fourth of eight in 2m Market Rasen handicap three weeks ago. Player. After a layoff she ran quite well in a higher grade at Market Rasen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GREYVAL wasn't disgraced in fourth in a class 2 event at Market Rasen on her return to action last month and the handicapper has left her mark alone. Fergal O'Brien's mare might only need to repeat that level of form in order to regain the winning thread. Strong Belle ran too bad to be true when pulled up at Kelso last time and she is worth another chance on only her second handicap start. It's Easy is the pick of the remainder.
GREYVAL should be all the better for her recent Market Rasen fourth so gets the nod at the chief expense of Strong Belle who is weighted to go well if back on song after a lay-off. Ip Up is also in the mix returned to this sphere.
This may go to GREYVAL who held her own in a higher grade three weeks ago. Strong Belle is feared most.

1st (8) (11/10 +37%) Glynn Brae |
11/10(+37%) | (8) Glynn Brae 11/10, Overcame inexperience to win 8-runner bumper (11/2) at Leopardstown (16f, soft) on debut in March. Sold from Stuart Crawford's stable for £130,000 later that month and has to be of major interest now going hurdling for red-hot stable. Fetched £130,000 after winning a soft-ground Leopardstown bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/2 +18%) Lud'or |
9/2(+18%) | (9) Lud'or 9/2, Improved on hurdling debut form when second of 11 in juvenile at Auteuil (17.4f, soft) in June 2023. Not seen since but Harry Cobden booked for UK debut and must enter calculations. Had a long time off but showed plenty of promise in two French hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -9%) Came From Nowhere |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Came From Nowhere 6/1, Bumper winner who wasn't seen to best effect switched to hurdling when third of 10 in a maiden at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) in May, considerately handled after losing ground/momentum when short of room 2 out. Will improve. Hooded. Chased home useful horses on hurdling debut and can no doubt do better again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (2/1 +33%) Whatsyourproblem |
2/1(+33%) | (6) Whatsyourproblem 2/1, Produced a promising first effort when second in a 2m Clonmel maiden hurdle in February. Failed to reproduce that effort in a couple of bumpers and a similar event at Tramore but could get back on track for new trainer (left John Queally). Two useful pieces of form in Ireland should do well for Fergal O'Brien. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (16/1 +0%) Trust House |
16/1(+0%) | (11) Trust House 16/1, Fairly useful form on Flat, stays 1½m, improved when won handicap final start in 2023. Sold from Ralph Beckett 58,000 gns but didn't get home on hurdling debut at Worcester last month. 1m4f winner; tailed off on hurdling debut after a year's absence; had to show more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (22/1 -10%) Diamond Geezer |
22/1(-10%) | (2) Diamond Geezer 22/1, Fair form when runner-up sole outing in bumpers but looks to be being brought along gradually in this sphere. Uncompetitive in two hurdles and the form of his bumper second is nothing special. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (150/1 -50%) Soldier's Leap |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Soldier's Leap 150/1, Runner-up in a point in May but well held both starts over hurdles. Narrowly beaten in a point but has finished tailed off in both his hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (200/1 -100%) First Cut |
200/1(-100%) | (7) First Cut 200/1, Modest form in minor events/a handicap on the level for William Knight and as well held sent hurdling at Uttoxeter 13 days ago. Regressive Flat maiden who was 125-1 when tailed off in a Uttoxeter maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (300/1 -200%) Pooroldmackley |
300/1(-200%) | (4) Pooroldmackley 300/1, Failed to complete both starts in points and has offered little in a pair of maiden hurdles. Needs this run for a handicap mark. Failed to complete in two points and opposable on what he's shown in two maidens. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (125/1 -525%) Ironed Out |
125/1(-525%) | (14) Ironed Out 125/1, Showed a bit from a less-than-ideal position when fourth of 9 in bumper at Southwell (15.8f, soft) on debut in June, not ideally placed. Makes a quick switch to hurdling. Should stay a lot further so encouraging that she wasn't beaten far in her bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (250/1 -150%) Ballyhiho |
250/1(-150%) | (13) Ballyhiho 250/1, Placed on 2 of 4 starts in Irish points but made an unpromising start to career under Rules when well beaten in a Warwick bumper 16 days ago. Placed in two of her four Irish points; 100-1 and finished out the back in a 2m novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (400/1 -300%) Helpful |
400/1(-300%) | (3) Helpful 400/1, Well held in bumpers 4 months apart for different yards and showed nothing fitted with a tongue strap on hurdle debut over C&D in July. No sign of ability in any of his runs and instantly opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An open contest and a chance is taken on GLYNN BRAE, who got off the mark at the first time of asking in a bumper at Leopardstown in March. Formerly trained by Stuart Crawford, the hurdles debutant looks an interesting recruit for Nigel Twiston-Davies and his horses couldn't be running much better at the moment. Whatsyourproblem bumped into two useful types when third in a Killarney bumper latest and he can be seen to better effect back over obstacles, while Lud'or makes most appeal of the remainder.
GLYNN BRAE overcame inexperience to run out a fairly cosy winner of a Leopardstown bumper on his debut back in March and makes plenty of appeal now going hurdling for a red-hot yard, so he earns the vote. Sonification appeals as the type to make up for lost time and looks sure to pose a big threat if taking up this engagement (also declared at Uttoxeter on Friday), with Lud'or and Whatsyourproblem others to consider.
There's substance to the form of GLYNN BRAE's bumper win at Leopardstown and he's narrowly preferred to Whatsyourproblem.

1st (4) (9/4 +44%) Silver Thorn |
9/4(+44%) | (4) Silver Thorn 9/4, Related to a bumper winner and clear signs of ability in that sphere, runner-up at Huntingdon 6 months ago. One to consider upped in trip for hurdling debut.3 Ran well in his two bumpers and he's bred to appreciate a test of stamina over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (10/1 +0%) Carrig Kate |
10/1(+0%) | (6) Carrig Kate 10/1, Winning pointer who showed something to work on when fourth in a bumper at Southwell 6 months ago. Longer trip should suit and she's worthy of consideration on hurdling bow. Fourth of seven in a heavy-ground bumper at Southwell but needs more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/2 +75%) Tigerbythetail |
5/2(+75%) | (5) Tigerbythetail 5/2, Prolific pointer who showed fairly useful form on the first of his two outings in hunters earlier this year. Has held his form between the flags but might strip fitter for this return to hurdling. Maiden hurdler for Olly Murphy and questionable whether he's any better now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (3/1 -140%) Mikimoto |
3/1(-140%) | (2) Mikimoto 3/1, vercame inexperience to make a winning debut in Hereford bumper in February 2023. Sold out of Henry Daly's yard for £46,000 the following month and has made a promising start in this sphere. Definite claims. Bumper winner for Henry Daly; similar form in his two seconds over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 -29%) Night Duty |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Night Duty 9/2, £65,000 buy after winning his sole point in May 2021 but took him a while to get to the track before finishing a promising third in a novice at Market Rasen on hurdling debut. Off a further 18 months since, so clearly not the easiest to keep sound, but he remains with potential. Eyecatching over 2m4f on hurdling debut; another absence since; 2m6f will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (100/1 0%) Don't Ask Fitz |
100/1(0%) | (1) Don't Ask Fitz 100/1, Placed in points but big price and pulled up in a novice at Uttoxeter on hurdling debut. Tongue tied now but hard to fancy. Made the frame in his two points (2m4f/3m); big price when pulled up in a maiden hurdle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (150/1 -50%) Earcomessue |
150/1(-50%) | (7) Earcomessue 150/1, Has shown little to date and is up against it again. Some promise in bumpers but still went off at 80-1 for hurdling debut and was pulled up. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having shaped as if a win over hurdles shouldn't be too far away on his last two starts, this represents a good opportunity for MIKIMOTO to get off the mark in this sphere. Martin Keighley's charge is entitled to have strengthened up since last sighted at Catterick in December last year and this extra yardage is a positive. Night Duty is feared most despite being absent since April last year, as he caught the eye when running on well over the extended 2m4f at Market Rasen, while Silver Thorn is also noted.
CARRIG KATE showed plenty in points and looked in need of further when fourth in a bumper at Southwell 6 months ago so, if the market speaks in her favour, she's a formidable player first time over hurdles. Mikimoto is an obvious danger and Night Duty can play a part.
Sean Bowen's mount MIKIMOTO was beaten by a useful rival in his second start over hurdles and he looks ready for this longer trip.

1st (3) (9/1 +18%) Begin The Luck |
9/1(+18%) | (3) Begin The Luck 9/1, Arrives in good nick without winning, fifth of 10 in handicap chase at Exeter (19.2f, good) 9 days ago. One to consider back over hurdles. Placed over fences here last month but the ground has probably turned against him now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/8 +61%) Any Biscuits |
11/8(+61%) | (2) Any Biscuits 11/8, Much improved when last seen out 18 months ago with 2m2f handicap wins at Market Rasen and Exeter. Yard is going well so he merits consideration on his comeback, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Ended 2022-23 season with two wins; back from long layoff today; further progress possible. |

3rd (5) (5/1 -43%) Sailed Away |
5/1(-43%) | (5) Sailed Away 5/1, Ended last season in good order, gaining reward for his consistency when making all in 2m4f handicap at Huntingdon 7 months ago. Respected on return having been nudged up 3 lb. Ended last season with front-running win at Huntingdon; only 3lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 -13%) Ezmerellda |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Ezmerellda 9/2, Fair maiden on the Flat who got off the mark in this sphere at Doncaster in December. Running creditably when fell last in juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham (16.8f, good) 6 months ago and must enter calculations on her return. Won against own age-group last December; might have more to offer in handicaps this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 +45%) Jumbo Veste Verte |
18/1(+45%) | (7) Jumbo Veste Verte 18/1, Still looking for his first success and ended last season well below form at Bangor and Ffos Las in the spring. Improvement required. Ran well in first two handicaps but ended last season with two lesser efforts. |

6th (12) (7/1 +42%) My Granny Lily |
7/1(+42%) | (12) My Granny Lily 7/1, Got off the mark in 2m handicap hurdle at Ffos Las in February and ended the season in good form. Each-way claims on her return. Won at Ffos Las in February and ended last season with pretty good C&D run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (18/1 -29%) Suitably Surprised |
18/1(-29%) | (13) Suitably Surprised 18/1, Runner-up on her final outing in points but has made a low-key start over hurdles, a never-dangerous fourth of 10 in 2m Worcester novice last time. Could still do better now handicapping. Kept on steadily for fourth in a recent maiden; open to improvement in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (40/1 -21%) Chester Tonik |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Chester Tonik 40/1, Modest Flat winner who is yet to show much over hurdles. Needs this switch to handicap company to spark major improvement. Fair Flat racer; displayed first glimmer of hurdling ability this month; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (22/1 -100%) Bravethewaves |
22/1(-100%) | (6) Bravethewaves 22/1, Still a maiden and only eleventh in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, good to firm) when last seen out 18 months ago. Has his fitness to prove. Placed off 3lb higher in April 2023 but absent since finishing lame the following month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (22/1 -175%) Brownstone |
22/1(-175%) | (1) Brownstone 22/1, A fair 21f hurdles winner for Patrick Donoghue who signed off with a creditable fourth of 15 in claiming hurdle at Roscommon (20.6f, good to soft) in July. Cheekpieces back on and much respected for his new handler. Dual hurdles winner in Ireland last season; makes stable debut from workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (25/1 +24%) Admiral Fitz |
25/1(+24%) | (10) Admiral Fitz 25/1, Runner-up completed start in points but has shown little in 3 maiden hurdles. Lots more required now going into handicaps. Struggled to get seriously competitive in three Wincanton maiden hurdles last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (80/1 -60%) Uncle Arthur |
80/1(-60%) | (11) Uncle Arthur 80/1, Opened his hurdles account for Fergal O'Brien in December but largely struggled for James Owen. Well held both runs for his current yard too, undergoing breathing surgery before sixth of seven in 2m Worcester handicap 22 days ago. Has struggled on both starts for new stable and is very difficult to enthuse over now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Any Biscuits showed a likeable attitude when scoring over an extended 2m2f at Exeter when last seen in April 2023, and he commands respect off a 6lb higher mark, despite the lengthy absence. SAILED AWAY edges preference. Stuart Edmunds' charge was last seen scoring with the minimum of fuss over an extended 2m3f at Huntingdon in the spring and a similar effort may well suffice upped 3lb. Ezmerellda is also noteworthy.
ANY BISCUITS has a long absence to overcome but hails from an in-form yard and was on a roll when last seen out so is worth siding with here. The consistent Ezmerellda could emerge as the chief threat to Harry Derham's hat-trick seeker ahead of Begin The Luck and Brownstone.
It's well worth chancing the fitness of ANY BISCUITS, who was in excellent form in spring 2023 when last seen.

1st (1) (4/1 -14%) Aworkinprogress |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Aworkinprogress 4/1, Left previous form well behind when making second handicap start a winning one at Fontwell in March. Not seen since but has a background in points and this even stiffer test is in his favour. Unexposed and forged clear to win over 2m5f at Fontwell in March; up 6lb. |

2nd (3) (11/1 +8%) The Scorpion King |
11/1(+8%) | (3) The Scorpion King 11/1, Off the mark in a Fontwell handicap in March, though success looked unlikely for a long way, and he again raced lazily when only fourth at Hereford next time. Returns from 6 months off. Didn't look an easy ride when winning by 4l at Fontwell and again when fourth next time. |

3rd (12) (12/1 -33%) Northern Reel |
12/1(-33%) | (12) Northern Reel 12/1, Irish point winner who is yet to fire under Rules but has a basement mark and showed a bit more when seventh on chasing debut in a handicap at Uttoxeter 13 days ago. Not long with this yard and shouldn't be ruled out. A 12l defeat last time at Uttoxeter (3m, good) wasn't too shoddy an effort. |

4th (11) (40/1 -43%) Jukebox D'eddy |
40/1(-43%) | (11) Jukebox D'eddy 40/1, Modest maiden hurdler who is yet to offer anything over fences. Something to prove. Modest maiden over hurdles and has yet to raise his profile as a chaser (0-3). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (5/1 -25%) Supasunrise |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Supasunrise 5/1, Creditable second of 13 in handicap chase (9/1) at Southwell (20.4f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Well treated, has a fitness edge on most, and hails from an in-form yard, so boasts strong claims. Both wins over 2m4f but stays this far and ran well after wind surgery 16 days ago. |

6th (8) (22/1 -10%) Faitque De L'isle |
22/1(-10%) | (8) Faitque De L'isle 22/1, Well handicapped on old form hasn't been seen since being pulled up on final outing for Michael Scudamore 11 months ago. Hard to make a case for. Has got himself well handicapped and in same ownership despite moving yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/4 +55%) River Voyage |
9/4(+55%) | (4) River Voyage 9/4, Winning Irish pointer who only showed a modest level of form over hurdles but is the type to do better in this sphere and returns with his yard in good order. A weakener in all his hurdles (2m4f-3m) but chasing could be the making of him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (10/1 -43%) Boys Of Wexford |
10/1(-43%) | (10) Boys Of Wexford 10/1, Modest chaser who ended the last campaign in good order. Well treated on his very best efforts but stable hasn't started firing yet. Surprising to see no cheekpieces as they worked well on his final three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (12/1 -9%) Martalmix'jac |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Martalmix'jac 12/1, Course winner. Pulled up in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft, 17/2). Off 7 months. Likely to need the run. Pulled up when last seen in March but mostly in good form since the cheekpieces went on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (25/1 +0%) Kilkeaskin Molly |
25/1(+0%) | (9) Kilkeaskin Molly 25/1, Unreliable sort who remains a maiden after 24 goes. Returned from a huge absence with a respectable run over hurdles at Worcester 48 days ago but hard to know if he'll build on that over fences for the first time. Fair recent run back from a mammoth absence but one to watch on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (28/1 +44%) Fast Deal |
28/1(+44%) | (13) Fast Deal 28/1, Scored at Stratford (27.5f) in April but arrives well below form, down the field at Market Rasen three weeks ago. Likely to struggle. Sole win came here earlier this year (3m3f) but returns in no sort of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (66/1 +0%) Doyens De Ante |
66/1(+0%) | (14) Doyens De Ante 66/1, Landed back-to-back wins in spring 2023 but has lost the plot since. Won two chases in early 2023 but he's suffered a major slump in form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SUPASUNRISE bounced back to form on his first start after wind surgery when finishing runner-up behind a subsequent winner on his seasonal reappearance over an extended 2m4f at Southwell earlier this month. That effort should have teed him up perfectly for this and, having only been nudged up 1lb, a bold bid looks likely. Aworkinprogress scored comfortably over hurdles at Fontwell in March and would be foolish to ignore stepping up in trip on his chasing bow. Boys Of Wexford is noted too.
SUPASUNRISE added to his stable's excellent form with a positive return when second at Southwell recently. That form has been boosted by the winner since, so he's fancied to go one better. Chasing debutants Aworkinprogress and River Voyage are both of interest, too.
A good few with chances but BOYS OF WEXFORD is a winner waiting to happen off his mark.
Ths is the racecard key.
