1st (10) (17/2 +29%) Jazzy Angel |
17/2(+29%) | (10) Jazzy Angel 17/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 9 in minor event at Newmarket (7f, good to soft, 50/1) 48 days ago. May do better now sent handicapping. Showed nothing more than minor promise in her three 7f qualifying races; nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/1 +31%) Finn Ironside |
11/1(+31%) | (4) Finn Ironside 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 80/1, ninth of 12 in minor event at Chelmsford City (6f) 33 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Makes tapeta/handicap debut. Unable to land a significant blow in four maiden/novice races; may do better in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/1 +9%) Moreginplease |
5/1(+9%) | (2) Moreginplease 5/1, Making all-weather debut, ran creditably when third of 8 in nursery at Lingfield (1m, AW, 11/2) 41 days ago, no extra final 100 yds. 1 lb lower now and warrants respect. Placed at Lingfield when upped to 1m for last month's AW debut; 1lb lower here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/4 +44%) Likeashadow |
9/4(+44%) | (6) Likeashadow 9/4, Back-to-back winner at Newcastle before creditable third of 7 in nursery (9/2) at same course (8f) 23 days ago, left poorly placed. Booking of Murphy a plus. Shortlisted. Dual nursery winner at Newcastle this autumn; good third off today's mark there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 -40%) Morindoo |
14/1(-40%) | (1) Morindoo 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 4/1, last of 8 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago, slowly away. Doesn't look especially well treated on handicap debut. Has claims if judged on second of her three qualifying runs; well beaten since, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (3/1 +10%) Bradman |
3/1(+10%) | (11) Bradman 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden who met trouble in running when fourth of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 10/11) 20 days ago. Big player off same mark here. Fourth in two 8.6f Wolverhampton nurseries last month; still has a bigger run in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (40/1 -60%) Goldmine Girl |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Goldmine Girl 40/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, respectable fifth of 11 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 22/1) 17 days ago, slowly away. Others more persuasive. Consistent in recent months but needs to find extra to get a win on the board. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (33/1 -136%) Keep My Secret |
33/1(-136%) | (8) Keep My Secret 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 12 in minor event at Chelmsford City (7f, 40/1) 31 days ago. Improvement required on handicap debut. Beaten about 5l in three maiden/novice races; should have more to offer in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (9/1 +0%) Fly Pass |
9/1(+0%) | (3) Fly Pass 9/1, Sixth of 7 in nursery at Newcastle (8f, 12/1) 23 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Still looking for first success. Stayed on for third when upped to 1m last month and refitted cheekpieces might help here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (28/1 -300%) Nominal Event |
28/1(-300%) | (5) Nominal Event 28/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 11/4, second of 7 in minor event at Catterick (7f, soft) 69 days ago, flattered by proximity. Makes handicap debut. More required. Made the frame in all three qualifying races; up in trip for nursery/AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (22/1 +12%) Storm Alice |
22/1(+12%) | (7) Storm Alice 22/1, Winner at Chepstow in September. 28/1, fifth of 8 in nursery at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 46 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Needs a couple of these to falter. Two lesser efforts have followed her Chepstow win in September; visor added here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Likeashadow and Storm Alice have both proven they have the wherewithal to win a race and each commands respect in this wide-open nursery, especially the former who went close off this mark in a higher grade last time. However, MOREGINPLEASE arguably boasts slightly stronger form and, given she is unexposed on the all-weather, this could be a good time to catch the John Ryan-trained filly.
BRADMAN is still low mileage and hasn't been seen to best effect in either of his nursery starts. He can open his account. Likeashadow and Moreginplease head the list of dangers.
The suggestion is nursery debutante KEEP MY SECRET, who moves up in trip after three encouraging qualifying runs.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

22/1(-144%) | (9) Bella Umbria 22/1, Twice-raced maiden. Sixth of 12 in novice (7/1) at this C&D 18 days ago. RPRs in the 60s in 7f novices at Kempton and here; unlikely to be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (200/1 -203%) Tip Top Tank |
200/1(-203%) | (8) Tip Top Tank 200/1, Pastoral Pursuits gelding. Half-brother to 2-y-o 5f winner Big Ace and 1m-1¼m winner Little Ted. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Several of these are noteworthy for future reference, not least FIRST ALLIANCE, a 500,000gns yearling whose pedigree makes for good reading, given he is introduced at such a modest level. A son of Dubawi, he runs for a yard with a highly impressive strike-rate with its two-year-olds and this colt, an Irish 2000 Guineas entrant, rates a most intriguing newcomer. Prom Queen and Alhather are other expensive newcomers to note, while Sir Les Patterson makes most appeal from those with experience.
SIR LES PATTERSON showed plenty to work on when third at Kempton and can put that experience to good use up against some interesting newcomers, notably First Alliance and Alhather.
A difficult race to approach without the benefit of market vibes, as the newcomers are interesting. SIR LES PATTERSON ran a nice debut.

15/2(+25%) | (2) Eastern Dream 15/2, :40,000 gns Oasis Dream colt. 50/1(-257%) | (3) Magic Rascal 50/1, Twice-raced maiden. 80/1, eighth of 10 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 19 days ago. Finished last on debut and made no improvement on that form at Wolverhampton.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NIGHT RAIDER, a half-brother to Group 3 winning sprinter Far Above, makes plenty of appeal on paper. A draw in stall two is a handy advantage and this son of Dark Angel is a most interesting debutant for Karl Burke. Danielle, a close relative of Courage Mon Ami, who was a first-time-out winner for the same stable last year, heads the list of dangers, while Midnight's Dream is another newcomer to consider.
Tricky, with those with previous experience needing improvement from out of the blue and 3 very interesting newcomers in opposition. MIDNIGHT'S DREAM makes obvious appeal on paper, closely followed by Night Raider and Danielle, so the market might guide.
With the Gosden runners in good form and her eyecatching pedigree, it would be no surprise to see DANIELLE make a winning debut.

9/2(+10%) | (1) Snash 9/2, Latest win at Newcastle in October. 9/2, excuses when last of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 27 days ago. Can bounce back. Good record on AW and follow-up bid last time can be forgiven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (4/1 +43%) Secret Road |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Secret Road 4/1, 12/1, improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f) 27 days ago by ½ length from Thaki, having run of race. Not an obvious one to follow up. Had run of the race out in front when beating Thaki last time and follow-up looks tricky. |

13/2(+7%) | (8) Kats Bob 13/2, Latest win at Newcastle in October. 13/2, good second of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 32 days ago. Not taken lightly. Raised 2lb for short-head defeat last time but is a solid option. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 +27%) Phoenix Beach |
4/1(+27%) | (2) Phoenix Beach 4/1, C&D winner. Improved on recent efforts to win 12-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f, 9/2) 23 days ago. Player. Lot to like and Ryan Sexton could easily make it 2-2 on him. |

7th (3) (12/1 -380%) Bankrupt |
12/1(-380%) | (3) Bankrupt 12/1, 5 wins from 11 runs this year. Career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 13/8) 20 days ago, readily. Expected to be bang there again. Drawn widest but could easily secure a five-timer with latest win his most decisive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 +29%) Thaki |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Thaki 10/1, Latest win at Ayr in August. Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 19 days ago. This 6yo is of interest having shown his best form this year, including penultimate start. |

11th (5) (9/1 +44%) Absolutelyflawless |
9/1(+44%) | (5) Absolutelyflawless 9/1, Course winner. 11/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 8 days ago, hampered. Mostly disappointing of late; just keeping on when hampered at Wolverhampton last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (28/1 -273%) Bingley Crocker |
28/1(-273%) | (11) Bingley Crocker 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. Down in trip. Makes tapeta debut. First run for yard after leaving Ben Pauling. Fair on the Flat, good on last Flat outing. Disappointed on hurdles bow last time. Back sprinting starting out for third different trainer; pulled up over hurdles last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Chelsea Banham has worked wonders with Bankrupt and a fifth straight success cannot be ruled out given his resurgent recent form. However, he is 5lb higher and it could be a good time to switch allegiance to SECRET ROAD, who is unexposed on the all-weather. Having made all to win at Newcastle last time, he is ideally berthed in stall three to launch a bold attempt at following up off 4lb higher. Newcastle second Thaki also enters the reckoning, along with Kats Bob.
BANKRUPT remains one to keep on the right side of given the manner he completed the 4-timer at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago. Kats Bob and Phoenix Beach head the dangers.
Having landed some nice bets at Newcastle before being caught out by racing on a wing there last time, SNASH is the call.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ROARIN' SUCCESS is still of low mileage and, having gone some way to proving that a below par performance at Goodwood on her penultimate start was a blip when a good third at Kempton last month, she is an attractive proposition off the same mark here. Wild Side (sixth) was just over a length behind the selection that day and could feasibly get closer tonight, while Lingfield winner Achillea and Hey Lyla also enter calculations.
ROARIN' SUCCESS ran a cracker on her return from a break at Kempton last month and will appreciate the step back up in trip here. She can resume winning ways. Enola Grey and Achillea can also make their presence felt.
Preference is for ENOLA GREY whose latest Wolverhampton second was franked by the winner there on Sunday. The yard won this last year.

1st (2) (13/2 -30%) Bergerac |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Bergerac 13/2, 4/1, improved on recent efforts to win 11-runner handicap at Newcastle (5f) 25 days ago, keeping on well. Has good chance on form. Second and first on Newcastle AW of late and has fair chance up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/2 +68%) Hiya Maite |
9/2(+68%) | (6) Hiya Maite 9/2, C&D winner. Latest win at Beverley in June. Respectable second of 7 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, soft, 7/1) 55 days ago. Not taken lightly. Won four of last 13 starts; goes well fresh and is considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (11/1 +21%) Crimson Sand |
11/1(+21%) | (8) Crimson Sand 11/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. Creditable length third of 9 to Blind Beggar in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 4/1) 33 days ago, slowly away. Makes tapeta debut and improvement needed. Doesn't have much to find with Blind Beggar on Chelmsford running 33 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (7/1 +0%) Khabib |
7/1(+0%) | (10) Khabib 7/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 11-runner handicap (11/4) at this course (5f) 18 days ago, staying on well. Enters calculations up 4 lb. Form figures over C&D read 12231 but stall 1 may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (18/1 -260%) Lord Riddiford |
18/1(-260%) | (1) Lord Riddiford 18/1, Latest win at Goodwood in August. Creditable second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 4/1) 19 days ago. Likely to be in the mix. Plenty of ticks, including recent form and middle draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (16/1 -113%) Strong Johnson |
16/1(-113%) | (7) Strong Johnson 16/1, Three wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win at Newcastle in November. 16/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 20 days ago. Each-way shout. In good form on Tapeta of late and has a squeak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (8/1 -7%) Castan |
8/1(-7%) | (12) Castan 8/1, Latest win at Newcastle in October. Good neck second of 9 to Strong Johnson in handicap (9/2) at Newcastle (5f) 35 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Form figures of 212 on AW (all Newcastle) and should again go well if taking to this place. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (9/2 +40%) Conquistador |
9/2(+40%) | (9) Conquistador 9/2, 9/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 57 days ago. First run for yard after leaving George Boughey. Needs a couple of these to falter. Some appeal given new connections are super shrewd and Oisin Murphy rides. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (7/1 +18%) Blind Beggar |
7/1(+18%) | (5) Blind Beggar 7/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 10 runs this year. 9/2, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 33 days ago. 2 lb rise fair and he merits respect. Could easily make it 5-12 for Mick Appleby and 2-2 here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (20/1 -11%) Above |
20/1(-11%) | (4) Above 20/1, Latest win at Newmarket in August. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 14/1) 21 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has work to do. Rather in and out but first run here could go well if the mood takes him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (10/1 +17%) Jenever |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Jenever 10/1, Course winner. 4 wins from 12 runs this year. Latest win at Newcastle in November. Good third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 9/4) 24 days ago. Place possibilities. Big improver this year; may not be done with; regular rider Lewis Edmunds is on Hiya Maite. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (80/1 -220%) Zargun |
80/1(-220%) | (13) Zargun 80/1, One win from 26 Flat runs. Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. Tenth of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Leicester (5f, good) 63 days ago. Others preferred. Just 1-26 in Britain and no sign he's about to capitalise on plummeting mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (25/1 -194%) The Bell Conductor |
25/1(-194%) | (3) The Bell Conductor 25/1, Three-time C&D winner. Five wins from 19 Flat runs. Tenth of 13 in handicap (10/1) at Musselburgh (5f, soft). Off 8 months ahead of this debut for new yard and probably best watched. Probably best watched starting out for new yard off 248-day break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The in-form BERGERAC (second) won with something in hand over this trip at Newcastle 25 days ago and a 5lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent the Kevin Ryan-trained gelding from following up. Fellow joint-top weight Lord Riddiford (third), an old rival of the selection, is dangerous to ignore, given he has won off a higher mark in the past and doesn't have much to find with the selection based on their encounter (also at Newcastle) in early November. Strong Johnson and Castan are others in with a chance.
Several to consider in this competitive handicap, with BERGERAC topping the list. He travelled fluently when making all for a cosy success at Newcastle last month and he remains on a good mark following a 5 lb rise. Khabib got his head back in front over C&D recently and he has to be respected, while fellow last-time-out winner Blind Beggar and Lord Riddiford are others to consider.
Perhaps BLIND BEGGAR can make it 5-12 for Mick Appleby and 2-2 here. He recorded a personal best last time.

2nd (7) (9/2 +18%) Barrel Aged |
9/2(+18%) | (7) Barrel Aged 9/2, Promising type. Fourth of 8 in minor event (18/1) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 24 days ago. Open to improvement now handicapping. Has shown ability in all three starts; no surprise if he shows even more now handicapping. |

25/1(-456%) | (5) Socially Shady 25/1, Unreliable type. Good third of 9 in handicap (9/2) at Chelmsford City (16f) 68 days ago. Still, others are more persuasive from a win point of view. Not the most prolific, but 1lb below last winning mark and latest 3rd is working out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (16/1 +0%) Eloped |
16/1(+0%) | (6) Eloped 16/1, First run since leaving Hugo Palmer when ninth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 20/1) 21 days ago. Significantly back up in trip and tongue strap back on. Looks vulnerable. Wolverhampton winner but well held on stable debut last time; still has stamina to prove. |

9/2(+31%) | (2) Doublethetrouble 9/2, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 11/2, good second of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 46 days ago. One to consider. 0-23 Flat/hurdles but second in his last four starts and latest form is working out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (66/1 -164%) Punxsutawney Phil |
66/1(-164%) | (1) Punxsutawney Phil 66/1, 12/1, seventh of 8 in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (19.8f, heavy) 26 days ago. Latest effort in this sphere was poor and he's opposable. Form under both codes since the summer has been modest; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (9/1 -13%) Super Stars |
9/1(-13%) | (12) Super Stars 9/1, Remains a maiden after 18 Flat runs. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 7/2) 27 days ago. Place possibilities. Has run with credit to finish fourth at Newcastle in his last two starts, but is now 0-22. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (14/1 -155%) Natacata |
14/1(-155%) | (11) Natacata 14/1, 11/2, first run since leaving Sir Mark Prescott Bt when respectable sixth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 21 days ago. Jockey she was partnered by the day picked up a 10-day ban for, in the view of the stewards, failing to ask for real, timely or substantial effort. Player. 0-11 but has ability; latest effort caught the attention of the stewards; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (9/1 +36%) Beggarman |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Beggarman 9/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Tenth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Catterick (15.9f, heavy) 42 days ago, possibly amiss. Has work to do. Three wins on Polytrack, the latest in May last year; others look more solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (10/1 -33%) Rubeus |
10/1(-33%) | (8) Rubeus 10/1, First run since leaving Mrs A. Malzard when second of 11 in handicap (80/1) at Wolverhampton (14f) on UK debut 8 days ago. Has to be taken seriously. Only just beaten on stable debut at Wolverhampton eight days ago and winner has won again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (80/1 -60%) Libby |
80/1(-60%) | (3) Libby 80/1, 12/1, below form sixth of 11 in novice hurdle at Kelso (16.2f, heavy) 13 days ago, pulling hard. Tongue strap on for 1st time, cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code. Poor on last Flat run. 0-17 Flat/hurdles and well beaten in three starts for this yard; tongue-tie goes on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SAVVY BRILLIANCE recorded a taking success from a subsequent winner at Wolverhampton last time and there could be more to come from the son of Cracksman now up in distance. Runner-up on each of his last four starts, including around here, Doublethetrouble is entitled to be thereabouts again, as well as Kiss My Face, who has an excellent record at this venue.
Though she's an 11-race maiden, NATACATA has posted several creditable efforts in defeat and a line can be drawn through her effort on debut for this yard at Chelmsford where she encountered traffic problems at a crucial stage. Jane Chapple-Hyam's representative is taken to open her account here. Savvy Brilliance and handicap-debutant Barrel Aged rate the main dangers, though Rubeus is also of strong interest on the back of his recent near miss at Wolverhampton.
The vote goes to RUBEUS who has the same mark as when beaten a neck by a subsequent winner on stable debut at Wolverhampton last time.

7th (9) (22/1 -57%) Pledge Of Honour |

20/1(-67%) | (10) Femme Patronne 20/1, Thrice-raced maiden on Flat. 66/1, fifth of 11 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 29 days ago, not knocked about. Significantly back up in trip. Worth a check in market on handicap debut. Not devoid of promise in this sphere but initial mark is not an obviously lenient one.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BOHEMIAN BREEZE has been in terrific form of late and a fourth win in seven starts could be in the offing for the son of Galileo as he looks to follow up on a relatively straightforward success at Wolverhampton last month. The booking of Oisin Murphy is another plus as he looks to get the better of the capable Percy Willis, and the unexposed Le Rouge Chinois.
Preference is for EVENING STORY, who is still feasibly treated and can be forgiven her latest run over a shorter trip at Newcastle. Le Rouge Chinois and Bohemian Breeze should also go well.
With a handy draw to help him race prominently again, the improving BOHEMIAN BREEZE (nap) is taken to pick up a fourth career win.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
