1st (8) ![]() Path To Dubai |
4/1(+43%) | (8) Path To Dubai 4/1, Made a winning debut here (8.1f) a year ago and ran well when second of 13 in handicap at this C&D (4/1) in August, despite needing stronger gallop. Capable of getting involved if ready to go after 5 months off. Returns from five months off but this lightly raced 4yo has strong course form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Asgard's Captain |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Asgard's Captain 12/1, Five wins from 13 runs last year, with latest success at Newcastle in December. Below form when sixth of 9 in handicap at this course (11.1f, 15/2) 13 days ago, but he appeals as the type to bounce back quickly. Not seen to best effect here last time and won at Newcastle last month; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) ![]() Swinging London |
20/1(-122%) | (10) Swinging London 20/1, Gained a first victory on the Flat at this course (14.1f) in December and defied a penalty 2 days later when winning 9-runner handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 10/11) 36 days ago, easily. Up in grade but not dismissed lightly. Two commanding wins last month and could play another leading role despite weights rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Desert Emperor |
22/1(-238%) | (3) Desert Emperor 22/1, Confirmed promise of previous run when winning 8-runner handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 2/1) 39 days ago. Remains well treated on old form so he could be in the mix in his current mood. Won at Newcastle last month and remains well handicapped on old form; entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) ![]() Dunstan |
9/2(+78%) | (5) Dunstan 9/2, Won first 4 starts last year, including at this C&D, when trained by Barry Brennan. After 5 months off, ran well when 2¼ lengths fourth of 9 to Wiltshire Wonder in handicap (12/1) at this C&D 28 days ago. More needed. Returned from break with creditable fourth over C&D and could improve for that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Alpine Oasis |
11/2(-57%) | (7) Alpine Oasis 11/2, Stepped up on recent run when doubling her tally in 6-runner handicap (11/2) at this C&D 20 days ago, making running and keeping on well. Remains unexposed at this trip and she can make another bold bid. Easily made all over C&D last time; could still be ahead of handicapper despite 6lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) ![]() Gallant Lion |
16/1(-60%) | (9) Gallant Lion 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023, but took a step back in the right direction when third of 9 in handicap (7/1) at Lingfield (12f, AW) 2 weeks ago. On a dangerous mark if building on his latest effort. Good third at Lingfield recently; might not be far away if proving effective on Tapeta. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Wiltshire Wonder |
6/1(-20%) | (4) Wiltshire Wonder 6/1, Bumper winner and made it 2 wins from 3 starts in handicaps on the Flat when successful in 9-runner contest (14/1) at this C&D 28 days ago. Remains lightly raced and he's a major player with more still to offer. Made it 2-2 in C&D handicaps with game win last time & this unexposed 5yo is a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) ![]() King Ottokar |
66/1(-230%) | (1) King Ottokar 66/1, Useful handicapper at best but lightly raced over hurdles in recent years, off 25 months (had wind op) ahead of finishing seventh of 10 in handicap at Leicester (15.5f, good to soft, 10/1) 60 days ago. This run should reveal more. Beaten over hurdles after very long absence, but well treated on his old Flat form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|DQ| (6) ![]() Plage De Havre |
7/2(+36%) | (6) Plage De Havre 7/2, Has progressed with each start so far, bumping into a good prospect when second of 14 in novice (10/3) at Chelmsford City (10f) 43 days ago. Remains with potential as he makes handicap debut. Runner-up in AW novices the last twice & the extra yardage could be a plus on h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The hat-trick seeking Swinging London commands respect but has never won a race deeper than a class 5 handicap on the Flat and has something to prove back at this level. With that in mind, it can pay to side with fellow last-time-out winner ALPINE OASIS, who looks progressive enough to shrug aside a 6lb higher rating after making all over C&D last month. Wiltshire Wonder and Desert Emperor also offer some appeal stepping up in class after winning their latest efforts.
WILTSHIRE WONDER has shown improved form since going handicapping on the Flat, overcoming a slow start (also hampered) when winning over C&D last time, and he can continue his progress to add to his tally. Heading the list of dangers is Alpine Oasis, who benefited from the step up in trip when making all here 20 days ago, ahead of Desert Emperor.
Having easily made all over C&D last month on her first crack at the trip, the unexposed 4yo ALPINE OASIS (nap) can follow up.

1st (5) ![]() City Of God |
7/4(-59%) | (5) City Of God 7/4, Showed plenty of promise amidst greenness when fourth of 12 in novice (13/2) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) on debut 3 weeks ago, caught further back than ideal. Leading contender with improvement to come. Promising fourth on Wolverhampton debut three weeks ago; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) ![]() War Hawk |
3/1(+45%) | (11) War Hawk 3/1, Promising third at Newcastle on debut and still in need of experience when seventh of 11 in novice (9/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 78 days ago. Remains open to improvement upped in trip, so he enters calculations. Promising debut when third at Newcastle in October, but didn't improve on it next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Modernise |
9/4(+50%) | (9) Modernise 9/4, Is bred to be smart but was green on debut when ninth of 13 in novice at Kempton (8f, 15/2) 44 days ago. Entitled to do better with that first run behind him. Green when ninth of 13 on his Kempton debut; could leave that form behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) ![]() Shipshape |
7/2(+50%) | (10) Shipshape 7/2, Half-brother to several winners, including smart 6f winner Swingalong, but failed to meet expectations when ninth of 13 in novice at Kempton (8f, 4/1) on debut 44 days ago. Clearly thought capable of better. Green when ninth of 13 on his Kempton debut; bred to be much better than that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) ![]() Hawkesbury Legend |
125/1(-279%) | (7) Hawkesbury Legend 125/1, Made some appeal on paper but held back by inexperience when seventh of 9 in novice (28/1) at this C&D on debut 34 days ago. Likely to need more time and distance. Never figured after a slow start on his debut over C&D last month; may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Tapis Rouge |
33/1(-65%) | (3) Tapis Rouge 33/1, 35,000 gns yearling, Le Havre gelding. Half-brother to 9.2f/1¼m winner Zaffonix Bay and 7f/1m winner Solar Prophet. May just be better for this first experience. Le Havre gelding; market should be most revealing on belated debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Desert Guest |
250/1(-213%) | (1) Desert Guest 250/1, Some encouragement on first of 2 starts in bumpers, but made no impression when last of 10 in maiden (40/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) on Flat debut 6 days ago. One for further down the line. Looked a non-stayer in two bumpers but fared no better in a Wolverhampton maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) ![]() Malay Massaman |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Malay Massaman 80/1, Didn't offer a great deal of promise first time up when 15 lengths fifth of 13 in novice (100/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 29 days ago. Looks one for the longer term. Beaten over 15l into fifth of 13 on his Chelmsford debut; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Ancient State |
250/1(-150%) | (4) Ancient State 250/1, Went with little promise on debut when last of 12 in novice (80/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 3 weeks ago. Looks to be up against it. Last of 12 on his Wolverhampton debut three weeks ago; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) ![]() Opera King |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Opera King 150/1, Fair form in bumpers but went the wrong way over hurdles last year, well-beaten eighth of 10 in handicap at Wetherby (16f, soft, 9/2) 22 days ago. First run on Flat having left Nigel Twiston-Davies (cheekpieces retained from hurdling). Ability in bumpers/hurdles for Nigel Twiston-Davies but lost his way; stable/Flat debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CITY OF GOD, who is from the same family as 1000 Guineas and Irish/Yorkshire Oaks winner Blue Bunting, should be wiser after running green over 7f on his debut at Wolverhampton last month. The son of Kodiac got better the further he went on that occasion and stepping up to a mile can be beneficial here. War Hawk is feared most from the rest with experience. Any support in the betting for well-bred debutants Express Train and Tapis Rouge would be highly noteworthy.
CITY OF GOD was green on debut but shaped encouragingly when fourth in a Wolverhampton novice 3 weeks ago, finishing well, and he can build on that effort to open his account. War Hawk has also looked in need of the experience in his 2 starts so far and is respected given the promise he showed first-time up, while newcomer Express Train is one to note.
The choice is CITY OF GOD who showed plenty of promise when fourth on his Wolverhampton debut. That form has already received a boost.

1st (5) ![]() Popular Dream |
9/4(+78%) | (5) Popular Dream 9/4, C&D winner in December. 17/2, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 days ago. Hasn't been beaten far in his last two races, the latest a Class 4; not without hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Miggy Magic |
11/4(-10%) | (1) Miggy Magic 11/4, 10/1 and blinkered for 1st time, first run since leaving Gay Kelleway when good third of 11 in handicap at this course (6.1f) 19 days ago. He's well bred and looks up to winning races for his new stable. Respected down in trip. Took a firm grip when third over 6f here last time; dropping in distance could work. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Lady Nunthorpe |
25/1(-56%) | (4) Lady Nunthorpe 25/1, C&D winner in October. 16/1, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 18 days ago. C&D winner but hasn't beaten a rival in her last two races at Newcastle and Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() Havechatma |
25/1(-56%) | (3) Havechatma 25/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. Last of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 27 days ago. Returning here can only be a good thing but has a bit to prove at this level off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) ![]() Beaumadier |
4/1(-167%) | (6) Beaumadier 4/1, Off 7 months/first run since leaving Joe Conlon and gambled-on 7/2, won 10-runner handicap at Newcastle (5f) 7 days ago, well on top finish. Got to be of interest again under a penalty. Won well last week; penalised in a higher grade but may have turned a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Toptime |
11/4(+31%) | (2) Toptime 11/4, C&D winner. Three wins from 10 runs last year. Latest win here in December. 10/1, below form fifth of 11 in handicap at this course (6.1f) 19 days ago. Player back over 5f. Did it easily over 5f here just before Christmas and went off a bit hot over 6f next time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The form of BEAUMADIER's Newcastle success over 5f last week has a solid look and the five-year-old appeals strongly now he has proven that reverting to sprinting can return a dividend. Given the son of Kuroshio is 1lb well-in under a penalty, this slight step up in class is a logical move if the quick turnaround doesn't catch him out. A three-time course winner, Toptime seems to raise his game at this venue and is feared most on that basis. The less exposed Miggy Magic completes the shortlist.
MIGGY MAGIC is bred to be a useful sprinter and could open his account having made a promising start for his new yard here 3 weeks ago. Beaumadier, who landed a gamble for his new stable at Newcastle last week, is the obvious danger under a penalty.
It was an encouraging first run for this yard by MIGGY MAGIC here 19 days ago and this sharper test could work for him.

1st (3) ![]() Rhythm N Hooves |
11/2(+8%) | (3) Rhythm N Hooves 11/2, Twelve runs since last win in 2024. Fourth of 7 in handicap (4/1) at Newcastle (5f) 9 days ago. Profile hit and miss but very capable if putting his best foot forward. Won 5f novices on both AW surfaces but better on turf and and now has his first C&D run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Almaty Star |
7/1(-40%) | (2) Almaty Star 7/1, Latest win at Goodwood in September. 16/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Chester (5.1f, soft) 118 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Some good 5f results in 2024 but on highish mark back from break on Tapeta debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Existent |
10/11(+60%) | (4) Existent 10/11, Thirty three runs since last win in 2022. Creditable third of 8 in handicap (well-backed 9/4) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 4 days ago. He's burnt a fair few fingers of late. Costing his supporters dear and having first run here since 2021 but good form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Mon Na Slieve |
8/1(-100%) | (1) Mon Na Slieve 8/1, Last of 9 in handicap (well-backed 7/2) at this C&D 38 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time, cheekpieces on 1st time. Slipping in the weights. Often highly tried before useful form in turf/AW handicaps; below par C&D latest; aids on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Juicy |
22/1(-38%) | (8) Juicy 22/1, C&D winner. Blinkered for 1st time, sixth of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 10/1) 26 days ago. Front-runs; likes this surface; excuses since C&D 2nd in November; bold bid possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() G'day Mate |
9/2(0%) | (6) G'day Mate 9/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Off 5 months, 8/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, fourth of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 26 days ago, doing too much too soon. On a good mark if building on that. Well treated on useful form in 6f Lingfield events last spring; mixed since; fair latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) ![]() Dashing Harry |
15/2(+25%) | (7) Dashing Harry 15/2, C&D winner in November. Hooded for 1st time, sixth of 8 in handicap (14/1) at Lingfield (6f, AW) 17 days ago, again very free. Likes this surface and having first run here since C&D win in November off 1lb lower. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having hit the frame for the fourth consecutive time when finishing third in a class 2 event at Lingfield on Monday, compensation could be on the cards for EXISTENT. A drop into class 4 company looks a good move for Stuart Williams' gelding and he's fancied to repel chief threat G'day Mate. The Havana Grey gelding was lit up by the cheekpieces on his fourth-placed finish over 6f at the Surrey venue last month and reverting to 5f may see him in a better light. Almaty Star is also of interest on the back of a 118-day break.
G'DAY MATE made a promising return from 5 months off at Lingfield and could be set for a big run if building on that back over 5f. Rhythm N Hooves and the even-more frustrating Existent are a couple of the dangers.
He's been expensive to follow of late but this could be the day that EXISTENT comes good again. Dashing Harry may be next best.

1st (2) ![]() Everyoneknowsadave |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Everyoneknowsadave 12/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in October. 17/2, creditable seventh of 12 in nursery at Lingfield (7f, AW) 44 days ago. Present mark demands a little more. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Made a successful AW debut at Wolverhampton in October, but held since; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Squires Treaty |
12/1(-20%) | (7) Squires Treaty 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good third of 7 in nursery at this C&D (20/1) 38 days ago, headway when hampered over 1f out. Further progress not out of the question on the back of just 4 career starts. Third on nursery debut over C&D last month; considered off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Brightandbeautiful |
9/1(-38%) | (4) Brightandbeautiful 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 7/1) 14 days ago, not ideally placed. Remains early days and she appeals as the type who will do better. Back up in trip. Showed ability prior to a lesser effort last time; pedigree suggests the trip should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Mrbluesky |
15/2(+25%) | (9) Mrbluesky 15/2, Signalled his turn was near when runner-up in a C&D handicap on penultimate run. Not disgraced in first-time cheekpieces when ninth of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 9/1) 18 days ago. Better showing anticipated. Only beaten a neck over C&D last month, but not so good at Wolverhampton ten days later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) ![]() Mayor Of Maghera |
20/1(-67%) | (3) Mayor Of Maghera 20/1, Winner at Musselburgh in August. Creditable fifth of 9 in nursery (18/1) at this C&D 57 days ago. Each-way claims having fallen a little more in the weights. Musselburgh winner in August and not beaten far over this C&D last time; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Blue Secret |
7/2(+56%) | (1) Blue Secret 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 8/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, tenth of 12 in nursery at this course (6.1f) 34 days ago, merely closing up late on the back of a poor start. Significantly up in trip and surprise were she not capable of better. Showed promise in her first three starts, but hasn't built on it since handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Tiempo Alegre |
7/1(+56%) | (5) Tiempo Alegre 7/1, Winner over 7f here in December. Fifth of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 8/1) 6 days ago, patiently ridden and plugging on. Not discounted back down in trip. Running well lately including a win here (7f); latest effort forgivable; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) ![]() Mckenna |
11/4(+21%) | (6) Mckenna 11/4, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 12 in novice (22/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 21 days ago. Tongue strap fitted for handicap debut and highly likely there's better to come. Has shown some ability; worth a second look on handicap debut; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) ![]() Empowered Queen |
10/1(-33%) | (10) Empowered Queen 10/1, Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap (12/1) at this course (7.1f) 14 days ago, left with plenty to do but running on. Unexposed at this sort of trip. In the frame in three of her four nurseries; shapes as though worth a go over this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) ![]() Watkins |
16/1(-113%) | (8) Watkins 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 11 in maiden at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm, 125/1) in September, left behind from 2f out but not unduly punished. Given a 4-month break/now equipped with a tongue tie and the betting can guide as one of 2 handicap debutants from this yard. Well held in three starts on turf; pedigree suggests he should handle AW; tongue-tie on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MCKENNA posted his best effort to date when a staying-on fifth over 7f at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. An opening mark of 65 looks workable for George Boughey's gelding and a return to a mile could prove fruitful. Squires Treaty arrives on the back of a respectable third-placed nursery bow over C&D and the Shaman gelding is feared most racing off an unchanged mark, ahead of Brightandbeautiful.
Claims can be made for most here but it would come as a surprise if BLUE SECRET never had a bigger effort in her locker for the William Haggas stable, so she's selected to come out on top on her first crack at 1m. Tiempo Alegre hasn't been shaping at all badly and she's a threat, along with handicap-debutant McKenna. Brightandbeautiful also enters calculations, along with Mrbluesky.
The vote goes to SQUIRES TREATY who would have gone closer with a clear run when third over C&D last month.

Should have more to offer. Shown ability at 7f on Tapeta; likely to do better now handicapping; drop to 6f could suit. |

2nd (5) ![]() Grey Operations |
5/1(-25%) | (5) Grey Operations 5/1, Improved for fitting of headgear of late, blinkered for 1st time when good 1¼ lengths second of 12 to A Fine Claret in handicap (7/2) at this C&D 13 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 4 in nursery at Windsor (6f, good to firm) in August, weakening over 1f out. Needs to find some improvement back from 5 months off. No improvement for switch to 6f handicaps in the summer; off since; AW debut. |

7th (8) ![]() Prada On Parole |
14/1(+13%) | (8) Prada On Parole 14/1, Returned to form when finishing a close-up third at Chelmsford in September but failed to scale same heights when midfield in 13-runner nursery back at that venue a month later. Given a break since. Never involved in October but previously close up in 6f handicaps on turf and Polytrack. |

25/1(0%) | (12) Lily's Symphony 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, fifth of 7 in maiden at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 13 days ago. Needs to find some improvement for the switch to handicaps now. Found little in qualifying events at 6f/5f; can't rule out improvement now handicapping. |

12/1(+0%) | (2) Wondrous Ways 12/1, Winner at Catterick (5f) and placed next 2 starts at up to 6f. Not disgraced when sixth of 10 in nursery at Thirsk (6f, good) in September Promising in sprint handicaps on turf as 2yo; AW debut; may do better this year. |

11th (10) ![]() Miss Pocket Rocket |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Miss Pocket Rocket 40/1, Down the field all 3 starts in maiden/novice company and failed to improve after 4 months off when 6¼ lengths ninth of 12 to A Fine Claret in handicap at this C&D (11/1) 13 days ago. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) ![]() The Last Time |
15/2(+17%) | (11) The Last Time 15/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Off 5 months/gelded, made more impact than previously when fifth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 11/5) 13 days ago. Still, he'll need to step up further if he's to play a lead role here. Modest improvement for handicap debut (5f); pedigree suggests he could do better at 6f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The removal of headgear worked a treat for recent C&D scorer A FINE CLARET and another bold bid is forecast. Karl Burke's inmate opened his account with enough in hand to suggest that a 4lb higher mark is tolerable and a brace may beckon. Top Biller made all at Wolverhampton six days ago, but he has more on his plate here under a penalty. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from Grey Operations, who finished behind the selection in second last time out.
A FINE CLARET was well suited by the strong pace when opening his account over C&D 13 days ago, never far away and running on to see off the re-opposing Grey Operations by 1¼ lengths. Karl Burke's 3-y-o is fancied to confirm those placings here, with Wolverhampton-scorer Top Biller another to consider. Little Bittern is a handicap debutant to note, particularly if strong in the betting.
Things fell into place for A FINE CLARET when beating Grey Operations in good style over C&D last time and he looks the best option.

12/1(-100%) | (2) Alyara 12/1, Modest mare. C&D winner. Respectable fourth of 11 in minor event at this course (7.1f, 9/2) 13 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Recent C&D handicap winner and found trouble in a 7f classified next time. |

5th (7) ![]() Mr Heinz |
9/1(+10%) | (7) Mr Heinz 9/1, Modest gelding. Creditable third of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (8f, 11/2) 7 days ago. Likely to find a few to good. Close up in one of these last week after a troubled passage. |

6th (10) ![]() Venus Slipper |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) ![]() Stoneacre |
125/1(-213%) | (9) Stoneacre 125/1, No solid form. Regressive form at novice level and never counted after starting slowly on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A change of tactics and an ease in grade paid dividends for CLOCH NUA, who was on target in a similar event at Newcastle earlier this month. Stella Barclay's charge is once again weighted to go well so, kept to the same level, it would come as no surprise were he able to follow up. That said, Charlatan landed a C&D handicap on Tuesday and he must be taken very seriously along with Alyara, who looks certain to benefit from returning to a mile.
CHARLATAN confirmed the promise of his previous run when recording a cosy success over this C&D on Tuesday and he looks the one to beat on these terms. Cloch Nua did well to score at Newcastle 2 weeks ago and is the obvious threat with Calcutta Dream best of the others.
Tuesday's C&D winner CHARLATAN has to concede weight all round but he's right back on song and could outclass these.

5th (7) ![]() Mickey Mongoose |
15/2(+53%) | (7) Mickey Mongoose 15/2, Modest gelding. C&D winner. 80/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 15 days ago. Capable at this level but not one to rely on. Won a C&D handicap last March but patchy since and wouldn't be the percentage play. |

6th (2) ![]() Beautiful Dawn |
33/1(-83%) | (2) Beautiful Dawn 33/1, 40/1, last of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 18 days ago. Visored for 1st time. Dual AW winner in Ireland; unconvincing for this yard and now tries a visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Annalee Lass |
13/2(-8%) | (1) Annalee Lass 13/2, Modest mare. Good fifth of 9 in minor event (16/1) at Newcastle (8f) 15 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Can give a good account. A dual winner and she's in better form than her recent figures may imply. |

9/2(+0%) | (5) Masham Moor 9/2, Modest gelding. C&D winner. Good third of 12 in handicap (8/1) at this C&D 28 days ago, running on. Player. Fighting chance at this level after finishing close up in a handicap here recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) ![]() Star Of St James |
22/1(-57%) | (10) Star Of St James 22/1, Modest gelding. 3-time C&D winner. 33/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 27 days ago. Three of his seven wins have been here but recent efforts do not bode well; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The vote goes to JUST TYPICAL, who finished a creditable second at Newcastle last time out and he would not need much more to come out on top in a race of this nature. Masham Moor was slightly unfortunate not to have finished even closer over C&D last month having met trouble and he remains of interest, while others to note include Quick Away and Dash Power.
A reproduction of JUST TYPICAL's close second in a similar event at Newcastle last week would make him the one to beat. Dash Power is shaping up well for his current yard so is feared most ahead of Masham Moor.
The suggestion is MASHAM MOOR who should be heavily involved if repeating his latest close third in a handicap.
Ths is the racecard key.
