Paradoxical |
(4) (8/11 +58%)8/11(+58%) | (4) Paradoxical 8/11, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW, 11/10) 3 days ago. Scored readily there so well in the mix under a 5 lb penalty. In fine form on Tapeta elsewhere before 1m4f winner at Lingfield on Tuesday; good claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Khangai |
(9) (11/4 +17%)11/4(+17%) | (9) Khangai 11/4, C&D winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. Good second of 8 in handicap (9/4) at this course (14.1f) 5 days ago, no extra late on. Visor on 1st time and a player back in trip. C&D winner who's in a good run of form at 1m4f and 1m6f for this yard; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Coloane |
(10) (11/1 -120%)11/1(-120%) | (10) Coloane 11/1, One win from 25 Flat runs but he recorded a good third of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 25 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Up in trip. Enters calculations. Turf winner at 1m; 0-13 on turf but narrow defeats at 1m1f on last 2 starts; new trip. |

Mr Nugget |
(7) (16/1 -14%)16/1(-14%) | (7) Mr Nugget 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 11 in handicap (10/1) at Wolverhampton (14f) 32 days ago, slowly away. Others more persuasive. Modest form at big prices in qualifying runs; well held on 1m6f handicap debut last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ace Rothstein |
(2) (16/1 +52%)16/1(+52%) | (2) Ace Rothstein 16/1, 50/1 and blinkered for 1st time, sixth of 11 in handicap at this course (11.1f) 15 days ago, merely closing up late. Eighteen runs since last win in 2022. Last won in Britain during 2021; struggled badly for many months despite big weights drop. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sisterandbrother |
(1) (22/1 -83%)22/1(-83%) | (1) Sisterandbrother 22/1, 18/1, good third of 10 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Can give a good account. Four turf wins; 0-7 on AW but two good efforts here of late, over C&D last month; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Young Endless |
(3) (22/1 -193%)22/1(-193%) | (3) Young Endless 22/1, Course winner. Three wins from 8 runs last year. 9/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Nottingham (14f, good). Off 7 months. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pilgrim Of Culture |
(5) (100/1 -400%)100/1(-400%) | (5) Pilgrim Of Culture 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Sixth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (12.2f), having run of race. Off 8 months. First run for yard after leaving Karl Burke with more required. Some promise on 1m4f handicap debut (AW) but off since April; new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
PARADOXICAL appeared to appreciate the step back up to this trip when running out a comfortable winner at Lingfield on Tuesday and, turned out again quickly, he gets the vote to defy a 5lb penalty. Khangai has been performing consistently well of late and, on the back of a solid second over 1m6f here last week, he can emerge as the main danger to the selection. Coloane has been knocking on the door and she could make her presence felt again.
C&D victor KHANGAI was worn down late on upped to 1m6f when runner-up here recently and is fancied to resume winning ways now back to his optimum distance. Recent Lingfield scorer Paradoxical rates a big threat under a 5 lb penalty for that stylish success, with Coloane also firmly in the picture now her stamina is drawn out more.
Preference is for PARADOXICAL following a convincing win over this trip at Lingfield on Tuesday. Khangai is next best.

Palmar Bay |
(1) (9/4 +36%)9/4(+36%) | (1) Palmar Bay 9/4, Latest win at Windsor in July. Good second of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 3/1) 30 days ago. 2 lb nudge fair enough and, provided he takes to tapeta, another bold show could be on the way. Triple turf winner who found only one too good under a prominent ride on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lattaash |
(2) (18/5 +20%)18/5(+20%) | (2) Lattaash 18/5, Didn't need to be at best when winning 10-runner novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 2/11) 25 days ago. That was a straightforward assignment but he nevertheless did the job well and merits respect back in handicap company. Third off this mark before making the most of a simple task back in novice company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ziggy's Condor |
(6) (11/2 +15%)11/2(+15%) | (6) Ziggy's Condor 11/2, Creditable third of 11 in handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 12 days ago. Every inch a leading candidate off the same mark here. Nine defeats since his winning debut but has been bang there in his last three races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
So Quiet |
(9) (6/1 -9%)6/1(-9%) | (9) So Quiet 6/1, Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at this C&D (5/1) 20 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Now 1 lb lower and he's one for the shortlist. Fourth of 14 over C&D last time when dropped in from a high draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Federal Envoy |
(11) (11/1 +0%)11/1(+0%) | (11) Federal Envoy 11/1, Two wins from 6 runs last year. First run since leaving K. R. Burke when landing a 9-runner handicap (15/2) at this C&D 21 days ago, keeping on well. This is tougher up 4 lb but couldn't rule out all the same. On stable debut he made all in gritty fashion over C&D 21 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Newsreader |
(3) (12/1 -9%)12/1(-9%) | (3) Newsreader 12/1, Three wins from 7 runs last year. Latest win at Kempton in November. Tenth of 12 in handicap (11/2) at Lingfield (8f, AW) 31 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Others preferred. Won with a bit in hand at Kempton (7f) and perhaps didn't stay 1m at Lingfield a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Judgment Call |
(7) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (7) Judgment Call 14/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 6/1, good second of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 22 days ago. Still relatively unexposed on the AW and likely to be on the premises. Best of those who raced prominently when narrowly missing out at Newcastle (7f) latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Beauty Choice |
(12) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (12) Beauty Choice 22/1, Three wins from 10 runs last year. 16/1, won 13-runner handicap at Chelmsford (7f) 29 days ago, just holding on. 2 lb nudge fair enough but this looks more demanding. Narrow winner at Chelmsford last time but this looks sure to take more winning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Perennial |
(8) (28/1 -180%)28/1(-180%) | (8) Perennial 28/1, Lightly-raced winner. Fitted with a first-time tongue strap (retained here) when fifth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford (6f, 40/1) 22 days ago, not ideally placed. Entitled to come on for that and the return to this trip look a good move. Made a likeable debut for this yard and can improve for this return to 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Billy Mill |
(5) (28/1 -75%)28/1(-75%) | (5) Billy Mill 28/1, Three wins from 12 runs last year. Latest win at Ascot in July. Eighth of 9 in handicap at Sandown (7f, soft, 12/1). Off 112 days and he's likely to find a few of these too strong. Multiple winner but below par the last twice and record when fresh is not the best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
How Impressive |
(4) (28/1 -40%)28/1(-40%) | (4) How Impressive 28/1, C&D winner. Five wins from 20 runs last year. Latest win here in October. 8/1, fourth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford (7f) 15 days ago. Looks vulnerable. Has not been at his best of late, albeit in higher grades; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Legal Reform |
(10) (40/1 -21%)40/1(-21%) | (10) Legal Reform 40/1, C&D winner. 40/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this C&D 15 days ago. Given a chance by the handicapper but it's easy enough to look elsewhere all the same. Dual C&D winner but only seventh here 15 days ago after a break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PALMAR BAY was far from disgraced when finishing runner-up after conceding first run to the winner this trip at Lingfield recently and, nudged up 2lb since but with his sights lowered slightly today, he gets the nod to go one place better. Lattaash was entitled to score in the manner that he did when landing the odds over 7f at Wolverhampton last month and he must enter calculations back in a handicap. Ziggy's Condor is becoming attractively handicapped and shouldn't be ignored.
Not many of these can be safely discounted. PERENNIAL is interesting on the back of an encouraging all-weather/stable debut over 6f at Chelmsford last month and he looks just the type to do well for the shrewd Stuart Williams yard. So Quiet shaped well on his first run here last month and he is second choice ahead of Lattaash, Judgment Call and Ziggy's Condor.
Karl Burke's LATTAASH (nap) was found a straightforward opportunity last time but he has the look of a 4yo on the upgrade.

Rebel's Gamble |
(6) (5/4 +9%)5/4(+9%) | (6) Rebel's Gamble 5/4, 85,000 gns foal, 135,000 gns yearling, Dark Angel colt. Brother to smart 6f/7f winner Nahaarr and half-brother to useful 1m winner Gleneagle Bay. Dam maiden (stayed 1m). Likely type on paper and it'll look significant if he's strong in the betting. Lacks experience but lots to like on paper, being a well-related 135,000gns yearling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Coul Angel |
(1) (2/1 +56%)2/1(+56%) | (1) Coul Angel 2/1, Once-raced maiden. 16/1, fourth of 10 in novice at this course (5f) on debut 14 days ago, finishing well. Up in trip and he is open to progress. 16-1, did well to finish so close over 5f here two weeks after clear signs of inexperience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Stardancer |
(7) (16/5 -7%)16/5(-7%) | (7) Stardancer 16/5, Promising type. Second of 9 in novice at this C&D (7/2) 15 days ago, running on. Remains open to improvement and should make a bold bid to go one better. Improved second over C&D 15 days ago and that form is right up there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Macedonian |
(5) (4/1 +33%)4/1(+33%) | (5) Macedonian 4/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 12 in novice (10/3) at Kempton (6f). Off 121 days (gelded in the interim) and, in good hands, he's likely to do better in due course. Good debut run and gelded since a lesser second effort at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Invincible Melody |
(4) (9/1 +10%)9/1(+10%) | (4) Invincible Melody 9/1, Once-raced maiden. 14/1, seventh of 12 in novice at Kempton (6f) on debut 30 days ago. May well do better with that run under his belt. Weak in the market at Kempton (6f; 14-1) and he was slowly away and then ran green. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
California Fling |
(10) (80/1 -142%)80/1(-142%) | (10) California Fling 80/1, 10,000 gns yearling, Sir Prancealot filly. Dam 1m/9f winner. Yard's newcomers typically come on for a run. 10,000gns yearling; first foal; dam 1m-1m1f AW/US winner (RPR 80). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Threatening |
(8) (100/1 +0%)100/1(+0%) | (8) Threatening 100/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighth of 10 in novice (33/1) at Nottingham (6.1f, heavy) on debut 86 days ago, missing break. Likely to show himself in a better light when going down the handicap route later on. 33-1 and never got competitive at Nottingham in October (6f, heavy). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Helaali |
(2) (100/1 -203%)100/1(-203%) | (2) Helaali 100/1, Twice-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time cheekpieces on for 1st time, fifth of 9 in novice at Newcastle (5f, 9/2) 25 days ago. Back up in trip and probably more one for handicaps in due course. Yard also saddles Sun Keeper. Newcastle last time was better but that form still gives him plenty to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sun Keeper |
(12) (150/1 -275%)150/1(-275%) | (12) Sun Keeper 150/1, Twice-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in novice at Chelmsford (6f, 5/1) 15 days ago. Hopes pinned on the first-time hood sparking improvement. Minor form in both her runs and headgear is soon turned to; hard to recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Trust Sergei |
(9) (200/1 -100%)200/1(-100%) | (9) Trust Sergei 200/1, Once-raced maiden. Seventh of 9 in maiden (66/1) at Doncaster (6f, heavy) on debut 55 days ago, slowly away. Readily passed over. Never dangerous when beaten just over 20l on soft ground at Doncaster (6f; 66-1). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sharp Call |
(11) (400/1 -300%)400/1(-300%) | (11) Sharp Call 400/1, Once-raced maiden. 125/1, last of 9 in novice at this C&D on debut 15 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Finished last over C&D 15 days ago and she'll be one for handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Those with experience don't appear to set a lofty standard so it may pay to side with REBEL'S GAMBLE. There is plenty to like about the 135,000gns son of Dark Angel on paper and he gets the vote to score first time up for the in-form Karl Burke team. Macedonian was too keen for his own good when fourth over 6f at Kempton last time out and, on his first start since being gelded, he could make his presence felt. Recent C&D runner-up Stardancer is also noteworthy.
The vote goes to STARDANCER, who stepped up on his debut when chasing home a potentially decent type from the Crisford yard over this C&D recently and he should continue to improve with experience. Newcomer Rebel's Gamble makes plenty of appeal on paper and it will be an ominous sign for the others if he's strong in the betting, while Coul Angel and Invincible Melody should both build on their encouraging debuts.
Clive Cox's STARDANCER is taken to make it third-time lucky after a much improved second effort here.

The Outlaw |
(9) (7/4 +65%)7/4(+65%) | (9) The Outlaw 7/4, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 13 in maiden (20/1) at Newbury (6.5f, heavy) 70 days ago. Still much respected for good yard on his handicap debut after a break. Never figured in three starts on turf last year; bred to be much better than he has shown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Whizz By |
(6) (7/2 +13%)7/2(+13%) | (6) Whizz By 7/2, Lightly-raced winner. Two wins from 5 runs last year. Career best when winning 12-runner nursery at this C&D (7/2) 52 days ago. Not taken lightly in her hat-trick bid despite a 5 lb weights rise. Still looks to be improving and is a major player in her bid for a C&D hat-trick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cosmic Force |
(5) (4/1 -33%)4/1(-33%) | (5) Cosmic Force 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good sixth of 12 in nursery at this course (6.1f, 11/1) 20 days ago. One to consider. Shaped as though this extra furlong would suit here last time; worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Brightandbeautiful |
(3) (7/1 +7%)7/1(+7%) | (3) Brightandbeautiful 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable fourth of 9 in nursery (15/2) at Chelmsford City (7f) 15 days ago, slowly away. In the picture. This trip may be a bare minimum for her, but she comes right into the reckoning on form. |

Empowered Queen |
(7) (12/1 -71%)12/1(-71%) | (7) Empowered Queen 12/1, 18/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, very good fourth of 12 in nursery at this course (6.1f) 20 days ago. Player off an unchanged mark now back up to 7f with the headgear again sported. Finished in the frame in all three nurseries late last year; return to this trip may suit. |

Minelone |
(4) (18/1 -80%)18/1(-80%) | (4) Minelone 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 17/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, eighth of 10 in maiden at Lingfield (8f, AW) 31 days ago. Visor/tongue strap on 1st time for his handicap debut with more required. Well beaten last time but had shown ability in first two starts; new headgear combination. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bantz |
(8) (22/1 -214%)22/1(-214%) | (8) Bantz 22/1, 8/1, respectable fifth of 9 in nursery at Newcastle (6f) 22 days ago, finishing well. Can make his presence felt once more. Got no run last time; extra furlong should be within range but improvement will be needed. |

Foro Romano |
(1) (25/1 +0%)25/1(+0%) | (1) Foro Romano 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 18/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 7 in nursery at Ripon (5f, good to firm). Off 129 days. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving George Boughey. Below form last two starts after showing early promise; stable debut after four months off. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Desert Eye |
(10) (33/1 -32%)33/1(-32%) | (10) Desert Eye 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, respectable sixth of 11 in maiden at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 20 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time and respected now going into handicaps. Shaped last time as though she needs further than this now; blinkers on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A winner here in October on her handicap debut, WHIZZ BY defied a 7lb hike to complete a C&D double on her latest start. Tom Ward's progressive filly should have more to offer and she gets the vote to land a treble, despite a further 5lb rise. Brightandbeautiful posted her best effort to date when finishing an encouraging fourth at Chelmsford and another good effort looks likely from her, while breeding suggests this extra distance could play to the strengths of Cosmic Force.
A few with chances but the vote goes to EMPOWERED QUEEN who rates the pick of the weights on the back of her very good recent fourth here and should find this return to further also a plus. Hat-trick seeking Whizz By rates the obvious threat, with Bantz and Rock Diva also in the picture.
These conditions have brought out the best in WHIZZ BY and she is taken to complete a C&D hat-trick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
RAPIDO GIRL has improved for the switch to the all-weather and placed for the third time in succession when going close at Newcastle on her latest outing. The daughter of Massaat looks capable of winning off her current rating on that evidence and another bold bid is anticipated. Course winner Starsong has won off higher marks in the past and returns to 7f with solid claims based on her recent second at Lingfield, while Just Rita is not badly treated on only her second start for new connections.
STARSONG got right back on track when runner-up at Lingfield last time and this course winner can capitalise on a reduced mark here. Rapido Girl is feared most on the back of her good Newcastle second, with Bella Kopella another who can have a say now stepped up in distance.
The choice is BELLA KOPELLA now back over 7f on the AW (record 212131). She has also dropped 7lb below her last winning mark.

(6) (7/2 +46%)7/2(+46%) | (6) Jesse Luc 7/2, Modest gelding. Bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 29 days ago. Still, he's not without each-way hope. Ran well for long way on stable debut and that was after a break in handicap company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bernie The Bear |
(4) (6/1 -71%)6/1(-71%) | (4) Bernie The Bear 6/1, Modest gelding. 3/1, good 1¾ lengths second of 11 to Autumn Angel in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 4 days ago, no match for winner. Cheekpieces back on and should make his presence felt. Not without hope of reversing Monday's Wolverhampton placings with Autumn Angel. |

Asadjumeirah |
(2) (12/1 -20%)12/1(-20%) | (2) Asadjumeirah 12/1, Modest gelding. Forty eight runs since last win in 2022. 15/2, below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 17 days ago. Not without an each-way squeak. Placed in three successive 6f handicaps before a lesser show in the latest at Newcastle. |

Magic Fluke |
(8) (14/1 +58%)14/1(+58%) | (8) Magic Fluke 14/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 11 in handicap (20/1) at this course (7.1f) 46 days ago. Looks set for another struggle. A fair 6f winner on Tapeta for Marco Botti but he's yet to fire for his current yard. |

Batal Dandy |
(3) (20/1 -43%)20/1(-43%) | (3) Batal Dandy 20/1, Latest win at Kempton in October. Hooded for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 25/1) 8 days ago, slowly away. Needs to bounce back. Unconvincing of late and this new headgear did nothing last week. |

Trulie Good |
(12) (28/1 -56%)28/1(-56%) | (12) Trulie Good 28/1, Modest mare. Course winner. 7/1, sixth of 7 in minor event at this C&D. Off 9 months and while she would have a chance if on-song, it's likely that the run will be needed. Two modest runs since winning a 5f classified here; has been absent since March. |

Lochaber |
(7) (66/1 -230%)66/1(-230%) | (7) Lochaber 66/1, One win from 22 Flat runs. Ninth of 10 in handicap at this course (5f, 20/1) 51 days ago. Back up in trip and needs to bounce back in a major way. On a losing run but runs well now and again; now drops in a classified race. |

The Princes Poet |
(11) (100/1 -300%)100/1(-300%) | (11) The Princes Poet 100/1, Modest gelding. Twenty-one runs since last win in 2023. Bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 28/1) 56 days ago. Back up in trip and likely to find a few too good once more. All headgear removed after starting slowly last time; ability is there to be involved. |

One Moonbeam |
(9) (125/1 -89%)125/1(-89%) | (9) One Moonbeam 125/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tenth of 11 in nursery (125/1) at Lingfield (6f, AW) when last seen 12 months ago. Best watched. Beat only one home on nursery debut more than a year ago and has a lot to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Autumn Angel is penalised for winning a handicap at Wolverhampton just four days ago, and that could hand the advantage to the reopposing runner-up BERNIE THE BEAR. Linda Perratt's charge is fancied to turn the tables on more favourable terms today, with an apprentice's allowance also in his favour. Trulie Good is capable of featuring at this lowly level on her return to action, while Asadjumeirah could be thereabouts if at the top of his game.
PIPERSTOWN failed to land any sort of a blow in a 5f Newcastle handicap on New Year's Day but he wasn't given a hard time and it'd be no surprise should connections allow him to take his chance. If so, the 4-y-o, who was successful here on his penultimate start, may well get back on the winning trail. Autumn Angel and Bernie The Bear, first and second respectively at Wolverhampton on Monday, rate the main dangers. Jesse Luc could also have a part to play.
A chance is taken on JESSE LUC who ran a promising first race for his new yard and he's down to 6f here which may suit.

Latest win at Wolverhampton in July. 10/1, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 64 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Enters calculations. Bit to prove again now but has form here and he won his last bid at a classified race. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MAY REMAIN last won when landing a handicap over this C&D in February last year and should find life easier at this level. The veteran ran well for fourth at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago and can go close if able to back it up. My Boy Jack is no forlorn hope returning to today's shorter distance, while Liv Lucky scored over the minimum trip here in September and she can also make her presence felt.
Four-time C&D winner USTATH should come on for his recent mid-field finish in a handicap here, given that it was his first appearance for three months, and he could be the answer back in classified company. Glory Call was a respectable fourth over 7f last time and he is greatly respected back down in trip, while Kapparis Kid and May Remain are others with reasonable prospects.
Tony Carroll's KAPPARIS KID drops into a classified race with some competitive handicap form to his name.

Elterwater |

Al Suil Eile |

Patiently ridden after a break when seventh of 11 in handicap (80/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 32 days ago, nearest finish. Not ruled out. (8) (50/1 -100%)50/1(-100%) | (8) War Memorial 50/1, 16/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at this course (6.1f) 15 days ago. Significantly back up in trip with work to do. Showed occasional promise for Michael Dods but it's been a quiet start for this yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
JOOLIANOSS returns from a layoff representing last year's winning trainer. The four-year-old was beaten less than a length when third at Lingfield on his handicap bow in August and has lots of scope for further improvement off a 1lb higher mark. Elterwater has the more recent form having won at Chelmsford before just missing out at the same track last month. She has to be included in calculations, while the penalised Union Island is not out of this either as the recent C&D winner bids for a hat-trick.
ELTERWATER is thriving and fancied to quickly resume winning ways with the form of her Chelmsford second working out well. Recent C&D scorer Union Island heads the list of dangers, with Commander Crouch also firmly in the picture in this competitive handicap.
The filly ELTERWATER might be the one. Her improvement has come at Chelmsford but she's run well here before and looks progressive.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A recent winner over 7f at Wolverhampton, Tea Sea is likely to prove competitive once again having been raised only 3lb. Mercurius Power returns to this venue with a shout off his current mark, having won over this C&D in August, but it could pay to side with JAAMIR. James Owen's charge should be sharper for a recent fourth at Chelmsford on his handicap debut, when giving the impression there was much more to come, and he gets the vote.
DEVASBOY shaped well on his first run for Mick Appleby when fourth at Lingfield last time and is fancied to build on that and fend off James Owen's lightly-raced Jaamir who posted a very good fourth at Chelmsford on his recent handicap debut. C&D winner Tea Sea can also have a say in an intriguing contest.
Given quite a lot to do before staying on well for fourth on his handicap debut at Chelmsford a fortnight ago, JAAMIR appeals most.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
