LTO Selection:

18:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TEMPER TRAP has secured a double recently and he is hard to oppose in his bid for a hat-trick, even with 5lb extra to carry. Jewel Of Kabeir showed a lot more on her return to the fray when third at Beverley last month and she goes off 1lb lower here. Chagall's success at Lingfield last time over 1m2f also gives him an obvious chance.

TEMPER TRAP looks the way to go under a 5 lb penalty on the back of his recent Hamilton success as he attempts to repeat his win here 12 months ago. Lingfield victor Chagall can chase home Tim Easterby's 6-y-o ahead of in-form pair Bay Dream Believer and Antagonize.

Chagall is greatly respected but TEMPER TRAP (nap) is back in the groove now and he can complete a quick hat-trick.

LTO Selection:

18:40 Ripon Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Seven Questions and FIGHTING WREN may dominate this race, with preference for the latter after her pleasing debut effort at York. The daughter of Showcasing showed signs of inexperience on that occasion and did well in the circumstances to finish fifth. Seven Questions brings solid form to the table but does have to carry a 7lb penalty for his win at Yarmouth. Any market support for the 36,000-pound purchase Spanish Rock should be noted.

The market could prove highly revealing here but George Scott's improving SEVEN QUESTIONS is taken to defy a 7 lb penalty for his recent Yarmouth victory with that form having been franked. Newcomers Jersey Rocs (second choice) and Spanish Rock both offer plenty of potential though and are in good hands too so demand plenty of respect, especially if the betting speaks in their favour.

Seven Questions sets the standard but the ground is a query and it may be worth chancing STASH THE CASH with his debut behind him.

LTO Selection:

19:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GRANNY BUDGIE failed to justify favouritism in a novice event at Lingfield last time, but she was far from disgraced in fourth on that occasion. The daughter of Massaat may be underestimated by an opening mark of 73, considering her debut victory at Nottingham. Alfa Whiteburd has decent form on soft ground and he could have a big say here. Of the remainder, Marie's Secret makes the most appeal on her nursery bow.

LOCHABER gave the strong impression this step up to 6f would suit when a running-on fourth at Musselburgh last time so gets the nod in an open-looking nursery. Granny Budgie is feared most now stepping into handicap company for the first time, although Chat Up Line is also weighted to have a big say.

Granny Budgie is greatly respected but MARIE'S SECRET looks a likely improver now handicapping at a modest level.

LTO Selection:

19:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SEENDID struggled in a valuable handicap at Newmarket last month but a 4lb drop in the ratings, combined with these calmer waters, should only help William Haggas' colt. Baileys Khelstar is likely to prove popular after running a fine race in defeat at Yarmouth last Tuesday and isn't taken lightly off the same mark, with Dasho Lennie and Whispering Royal making some appeal too.

None of these can be ruled out but BAILEYS KHELSTAR shaped well when runner-up at Yarmouth a week ago and can go one better here off an unchanged mark. Whispering Royal could emerge as the main danger now his stamina is drawn out more, with Dasho Lennie and Seendid both in the picture too.

Whispering Royal can do better over this trip but BAILEYS KHELSTAR is preferred after a near miss at Yarmouth last week.

LTO Selection:

20:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Latin Five has proven to be a consistent performer of late and is likely to be in the mix once again but preference is for SPANISH ANGEL. Ruth Carr's six-year-old won at Wolverhampton in July and can go one place better than his recent runner-up effort at Beverley. High Opinion was behind the selection in fourth that day and is a viable alternative, along with Malham Tarn Cove.

HIGH OPINION has edged back down to the mark off which he hit the target under similar conditions at Nottingham during the autumn, and the 4-y-o looks ready to strike judged on his recent efforts. Latin Five's turn also appears to be near and he is feared most ahead of the consistent Spanish Angel. Also worth a second look is Albegone, who has yet to get going this season but is lurking on a dangerous mark.

High Opinion should make a bold bid up the rail but SPANISH ANGEL is taken to exploit his lower turf mark.

LTO Selection:

20:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PROFITABLE EDGE finished a very respectable second on her seasonal/stable debut at Redcar in June and the daughter of Profitable appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to record a first success. Your Spirit has made the frame the last twice and a further 1lb drop in the ratings makes Paul Midgley's filly of interest too, while C&D winner Jazzagal may do best of the remainder.

JAZZAGAL was behind Your Spirit at Beverley last time but it would be unwise to read too much into that, since she was at a disadvantage racing on the near side whereas Your Spirit was on the favoured far side. Back at the scene of her nursery success off a 2 lb higher mark last summer, Tim Easterby's charge is taken to make it 2-2 over this C&D. Irish import Profitable Edge put in a good shift on debut for new connections at Redcar in June but the forecast slower ground here is a concern.

Profitable Edge will be hard to beat if handling the ground but C&D winner JAZZAGAL is marginally preferred off a tempting mark.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
