16:00 Ripon (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Karl Burke won this race with a precocious type last year and his CLEAR FORCE, who was second to a potentially smart individual on debut at Musselburgh, appeals as another key player. Valor Spirit, a promising third to one of the selection's stable companions when introduced at Leicester, is noted as a potential improver, while Secret Hideaway and Dakota Dawn need to be monitored in the betting.

Musselburgh runner-up CLEAR FORCE gets the vote ahead of Valor Spirit, Mare Of London and Secret Hideaway.

16:35 Ripon (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Narrowly beaten over an extended mile at Beverley latest, ARKINTHESTARS has a big chance of putting her experience over this trip to good use against mainly less-experienced rivals. Phyllis Burton and Percy's Daydream, who both showed some promise on their respective debuts, warrant betting checks, while Coedana is an interesting newcomer to keep a close eye on for a top yard.

Arkinthestars sets the standard in this weak maiden but it's a modest level. Newcomers COEDANA and Empress Of All are preferred.

17:05 Ripon (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Diamand De Vindecy enters the reckoning after a wide-margin success at Pontefract, despite needing to post another career best on the Flat running off an 8lb higher mark. However, there is also a lot to like about FORZA ORTA, who stays the trip well and is a slightly more attractive proposition off 6lb lower than his last winning mark. Artisan Dancer should also be competitive.

Last year's runner-up DIAMAND DE VINDECY can go one better, following on from his reappearance win at Pontefract.

17:35 Ripon (Class 2) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Gelded since a disappointing effort when favourite at Haydock last September, SAM HAWKENS could be one to find his feet as a four-year-old, especially as he is making just his third start for the William Haggas stable. A progressive sort throughout last season, Cabrera is a key player on her return for in-form connections, as well as Knightswood, who returned to form with a solid runner-up effort at Thirsk.

Due to the Ripon factor, this can lie between dual course winner DANCINGWITHMYSELF (nap) and last year's runner-up Knightswood.

18:05 Ripon (Class 2) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

VENTURA EXPRESS looked to be coming with a strong challenge when hampered inside the final furlong at Pontefract recently, and he may be able to gain compensation on this occasion. The eight-year-old may have too much for the classy Tees Spirit, who is likely to have improved plenty for his spin at Southwell in Listed company. A Royal Ascot winner last year, Pilgrim is of interest too.

Both VENTURE CAPITAL and Manila Scouse can reverse Pontefract placings with Ventura Express.

18:35 Ripon (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PISANELLO returned to the fray with a promising third over C&D. That points to a big run here and David O'Meara's charge may edge this at the main expense of Garden Oasis, who finished just behind the selection on his comeback and has won six times at this venue. Urban Sprawl made an encouraging return to turf when fourth at Newmarket's Craven meeting, and Stockpyle could get involved too.

Off a workable mark, STOCKPYLE is taken to record a first success since joining his new stable. Pisanello is second choice.

INVITORIO landed a novice race at Redcar last autumn and shaped well when fourth at Pontefract on his recent handicap/seasonal debut. Karl Burke's inmate looks to have strong claims competing off the same mark. Rogue Bullet returns to handicap company after winning a novice heat at Brighton and warrants respect, while the returning Beaujolais Nouveau can make her mark at this level.

The vote goes to MACEDONIAN, who is the only runner on the card for his Newmarket yard and remains of interest at this level.
