12:55 Redcar Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The normally consistent PHOENIX OF DREAMS can be forgiven a substandard effort on the heavy going in a handicap at Chester last time. He'll likely prove a warm order on his return to maiden company and should have little trouble dispatching both of today's opponents if running anywhere near his handicap mark of 77. Sheriff's Call makes a belated reappearance partnered by a 7lb claimer and may prove more of a threat than Kranjcar.

This looks an excellent opportunity for PHOENIX OF DREAMS to get off the mark.

Heavy ground was too much for PHOENIX OF DREAMS last time but he has been found a golden opportunity today.

13:25 Redcar Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DAN TUCKER found the competition too hot in the Listed Two Year Old Trophy here last time. He finished a commendable second to the 88-rated Huscal at Thirsk before that and a repeat effort can see the son of Dandy Man open his account. Native Instinct failed to see out the 7f trip at Thirsk back in August but is not easily dismissed if a subsequent gelding operation helps him to settle, while both Maelstrom and Jungle King should be noted with improvement likely.

DAN TUCKER can be forgiven his run in the Two-Year-Old Trophy here and is the one to beat if back to the level of his penultimate Thirsk second. The strength behind Maelstrom and Native Instinct in the betting on both their starts suggests they are thought capable of better and they can give Jedd O'Keeffe's charge most to think about.

This is a drop in class for the Haggas-trained MAELSTROM and he has a good chance of improving enough to get on the scoresheet.

13:55 Redcar Stakes (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

THE TRICKSTER conjured up a late rally to make a winning debut over the stiff extended mile at Beverley last month. He will have learned plenty from that experience and is taken to defy a penalty. Novelista was still beaten a long way when runner-up at Pontefract on his latest start, although he can make his presence felt once again. It would be no surprise to see Anglophile post an improved effort on his first start on the turf.

THE TRICKSTER is probably the percentage call on the back of his Beverley debut success, although a strong market move for expensive breeze-up recruit Native Irish would put a slightly different slant on things. Novelista should also be thereabouts.

Novelista looks dangerous but THE TRICKSTER was a late foal who defied market expectations on his debut and he is capable of better.

14:30 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 10f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FAST FRED is unexposed over this trip and, having run creditably when third over C&D most recently, this lightly-raced four-year-old could be tough to beat if building on that effort. Prince Hector has been freshened up since a Wolverhampton disappointment and is feared most. Recorwoman has winning form over this trip and needs a betting check now turned out quickly after a third-placed finish, despite fluffing the start, at Nottingham on Thursday.

A chance is taken on George Scott handicap newcomer TWO B TANNED, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Fast Fred is another low-mileage sort and he's feared most after his good third over C&D earlier in the month. Woof is next on the list for champion apprentice Sean Dylan Bowen.

George Scott's TWO B TANNED is very likely to improve now handicapping over a trip that should suit on pedigree.

15:05 Redcar Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NO RETREAT, who cost 1.2m euros at the Arqana breeze-up in May of last year, should be hard to beat if he has learned enough from a controversial effort when pipped at the post at Windsor. Greenness cost him that day but a more focused display could see him get off the mark at the third time of asking. Lasting Love has ability but is vulnerable to more progressive types, so perhaps well-bred newcomer Java Raja can give the selection the most to think about.

NO RETREAT would've opened his account but for jinking left on the line at Windsor 10 weeks ago (rider eased off) so he's strongly fancied to make amends here at the likely expense of Lasting Love, who is no longer progressing but has plenty of experience on her side. Java Raja looks a newcomer to note on paper, so he completes the shortlist.

Roger Varian's NO RETREAT has performed to a useful level despite looking a work in progress and he can get off the mark here.

15:40 Redcar Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

DEBORA'S DREAM enjoyed an excellent summer, winning at Nottingham and Sandown, and has left Roger Varian since being snapped up for 80,000gns following a solid Ripon third. She can make an immediate return on the investment, with drying ground very much in her favour. In contrast, Titian would prefer more rain but is still capable of throwing down a challenge, while Revich showed more signs of life at Ayr.

Thunder Roar is clearly thriving at present but having been seen just a couple of days ago, this could be best left to REVICH, who took a step back in the right direction at Ayr last month and has been dropped another 2 lb. Stable-switcher Debora's Dream and Titian are another couple fancied to be in the mix, in what looks a trappy feature contest.

Revich retains ability but THUNDER ROAR (nap) lost nothing in defeat on Saturday and any further rain will be welcomed

16:15 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Stormy Pearl, Travel Candy and Deputy made the frame at the last meeting here, with the latter pair performing above market expectations. All three have to be taken into account but a safer option might be OSO RAPIDO, who has picked up minor money on his last couple of appearances and had Stormy Pearl well adrift when runner-up at Ripon. King Of The Jungle could also make his presence felt.

TRAVEL CANDY has tumbled in the weights and turned in her best effort of the season when second over 5f here 10 days ago. She's taken to build on that and strike with a promising 7 lb claimer now up. Deputy, Stormy Pearl and Oso Rapido are dangers.

Oso Rapido should have a good run in him but perhaps DEPUTY can confirm the promise of his recent 7f run on this track.
