LTO Selection:

13:45 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Several hold good chances including Danzart, who undoubtedly has sound claims given his resurgent form, but running off a 9lb higher mark than for his Thirsk success obviously makes life tougher. Jems Bond is also highly respected on his peak all-weather performances but his record of 0-10 on turf is a concern. Therefore, preference is for VARIETY ISLAND, who has gone well here in the past and, from 3lb below his last winning mark (all-weather), he could be primed to strike with his match-fitness assured.

VARIETY ISLAND has the headgear back on after an eye-catching run at Wetherby and could have plenty in his favour here if getting the breaks. Dandys Derriere and Red Command are among the dangers.

Danzart won in eyecatching style nine days ago over 6f but the vote goes to VARIETY ISLAND who has his cheekpieces restored.

LTO Selection:

14:15 Redcar Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ROOSKA posted an encouraging effort at Musselburgh on debut 24 days ago and may do even better now, given he overcame a slow start to deliver a sustained effort and make the frame. Stepping up in trip could bring more out of him and he is a must for consideration. Dalton Lane also appeals now switched to turf after a near-miss at Newcastle first time out in February, while Happier also looks progressive and is feared most of the rest, despite firmer ground being a concern.

ROOSKA made a promising start at Musselburgh having been well backed and gets the vote with the promise of more to come. Dalton Lane similarly started out well in February and can progress, as can Happier. Dusty Rug is an interesting newcomer.

Happier sets the standard but it may well not be insurmountable if DALTON LANE and Rooska can improve upon their debut efforts.

14:50 Redcar Stakes (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HALA EMARAATY did things in a professional manner when making a winning debut at Ripon 17 days ago and seems capable of coping with the 3lb penalty at this stage of his development. The form looks reasonably strong and staying at this sort of level appears to be a good move for the time being. Jungle Mac looks the part on paper and, along with Seven Questions, is a newcomer to note in the betting. Taygar is the pick of the rest with previous experience.

HALA EMARAATY made appeal on paper and overcame inexperience when making a winning debut at Ripon earlier in the month, so he is taken to follow up for a yard enjoying plenty of success with it's 2-y-o runners this season. Taygar is worth another chance to build on her debut success and is feared most, with Our Havana the pick of the newcomers.

The betting will sort out the pecking order among the newcomers but HALA EMARAATY is open to improvement after his winning debut.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Redcar Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A chance can be taken on STORM FOX, who weakened late on over 6f in soft ground at Doncaster and she now steps back down to the minimum distance off a 2lb lower mark for the Tim Easterby yard. The daughter of Bungle Inthejungle could take a step forward to shed her maiden tag. Grandad Bob filled the runner-up spot at Catterick in this grade last time and could have a say off the same rating, while Cavalier Approach could be thereabouts again after he went very close last time.

GRANDAD BOB returned with a solid showing when second at Catterick 47 days ago and he's the type to do better with few miles on the clock, so he's preferred to Cavalier Approach, with Castan expected to bounce back from a low-key reappearance on testing ground at Nottingham.

Cavalier Approach has solid claims but JUNGLE FEVER can take advantage of a drop in the weights on his return to 5f.

(1) Kitsune Power 9/1, Progressed into a useful handicapper at up to 1¼m at 3. His campaign ended on a low note when down the field in the Cambridgeshire but still appeals as one who could go on to better things at 4.
Forgiven his final run last term and no surprise if he proves a contender first time out.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

City Streak struck by a neck at the Chester May Festival earlier in the month and has only been raised 2lb in the weights, which is highly likely to give him a leading chance once more. However, he could play second fiddle to TURNTABLE, who was unruly at the start last time when contesting a strong contest at Newmarket and if able to recapture the form of his double on the Rowley Mile at the end of last year, he could prove tough to beat. Oviedo is another to watch as he makes his handicap bow.

There's a possibility soft ground wasn't to TURNTABLE's benefit on his reappearance and he's worth another chance to show what he can do for the Harry Eustace yard. Sole 3-y-o Oviedo is an interesting contender now stepping up to 1¼m for the first time. Chester-winner City Streak and the returning Kitsune Power are others to consider.

City Streak cannot be passed over at all lightly but PILLAR OF HOPE may prove a bit better handicapped. Oviedo is unexposed.

16:36 Redcar Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DUKEMAN looks a fascinating contender on his handicap bow for the Simon & Ed Crisford yard, as he produced very good efforts in novice company on all of his three starts last year, and he could prove very tough to beat off a possible lenient opening mark. Wootton'sun filled the runner-up spot last time at Pontefract and he will appreciate the drop in grade off a 2lb higher rating. Another to note is Eeetee.

DUKEMAN is well bred and showed plenty last season, so he's capable of defying an opening mark of 82 on seasonal/handicap debut. Wootton'sun looks a danger on the back of a solid showing at Pontefract and C&D winner Strawman should bounce back from an excusable run at York.

The pick is DUKEMAN (nap) who surely brings significant potential to this handicap debut. Last year's winner Strawman is next best.

LTO Selection:

17:10 Redcar Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BEARWITH bounced back to form with a strong win at Newcastle last time out and this previous course winner is taken to follow up off an 11lb lower mark on turf. Harriet Bethell's charge is preferred to Cusack, who was fifth in the aforementioned contest and cannot be underestimated. Thomas Cranmer and Ice Shadow are others likely to enter the reckoning.

BEARWITH is better on the AW than turf but he has won on grass in the past and is well weighted. Just Hiss and The New Marwan needed their reappearance and better is expected this time.

Bearwith should have a major role to play. Slight preference, though, is for MOTARAJEL judged on his 2022 turf efforts.

OUR DICKIE bounced back to winning ways with a stylish success at Hamilton last time out and the step up in trip could eke out further improvement on this occasion. Similar comments apply to Streetscape, who has run with plenty of credit on both starts this season, while Iron Sheriff has strong claims on his penultimate win at Newcastle, where he scored off a 7lb lower mark.

IRON SHERIFF was unlucky not to finish closer at Wetherby a fortnight ago, and with this step back up in trip sure to suit, he looks the answer. This stiffer test of stamina will suit Streetscape and he's a threat, along with Bollin Margaret.

His last two runs point to a big chance for IRON SHERIFF, particularly now that he is back over 1m2f. Plenty hold realistic e-w claims.
