16/1(+36%) | (23) Pigeon House 16/1, Below form ninth of 22 in juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham (16.4f, heavy, 50/1) 51 days ago. Has work to do. Has become frustrating and made little impact in the Boodles on his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (20) (50/1 -257%) Killeemore Lad |
50/1(-257%) | (20) Killeemore Lad 50/1, 10/1, good second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Second at Tipperary nine days ago but that was not a strong contest, tongue-tie now.. |

5/1(+64%) | (15) Nara 5/1, Seventh of 22 in juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham (16.4f, heavy, 22/1) 51 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Remains of interest. Some encouragement can be taken from seventh on handicap debut in the Boodles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/1(+67%) | (4) Media Naranja 11/1, Twelfth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (16.8f, heavy, 100/1) 48 days ago. Undeniable Alibi appears to be the stable No 1. Two fair efforts in soft-ground handicaps during the winter and has won on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(+20%) | (25) Club Manager 8/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Career best when winning 16-runner handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (17f, good to soft, 11/1) 8 days ago, pushed out. Should progress. Won on handicap debut at Bellewstown last week, raised 9lb, this is much more competitive. |

15/2(-36%) | (6) Judicieuse Allen 15/2, 80/1, pulled up in Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novices' Hurdle Championship Final at Fairyhouse (20f, heavy) 32 days ago. Was clearly out of her depth in that Grade 1 contest and better can be expected now pitched into a handicap. Limitations evident when raised in class after maiden win, may find her level in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (22/1 -38%) Answering |
22/1(-38%) | (14) Answering 22/1, Winner in hurdle at Thurles in March. Good fourth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Naas (16.5f, soft, 15/2) 16 days ago. Enters calculations. Decent form in maidens, looked a bit one-paced when fourth on handicap debut at Naas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (50/1 -127%) Walhaan |
50/1(-127%) | (7) Walhaan 50/1, Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at Leopardstown (10f, heavy, 11/1) 22 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Visor back on. Fairly useful hurdler, respectable on last hurdle outing. Fit from AW, some merit in his handicap hurdle form, others have more obvious credentials. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (33/1 -18%) Zoffanien |
33/1(-18%) | (3) Zoffanien 33/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 6/1, creditable third of 7 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (17.6f, soft) 13 days ago. Third at Thurles in January, same placing at Ballinrobe recently, needs to raise his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(-208%) | (8) Whiskeywealth 20/1, Pulled up in handicap chase (8/1) at Aintree (15.8f, soft) 21 days ago, tying up straight. Resumes in this sphere on an attractive mark but others preferred all the same. Two wins (hurdle and chase) before Aintree reverse, remains 12lb lower than over fences. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (28/1 -155%) Ballycallan King |
28/1(-155%) | (12) Ballycallan King 28/1, 11/2, career best when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) 21 days ago. Up 9 lb for that and this is a tougher assignment. Wide-margin handicap winner at Limerick three weeks ago, 9lb rise may prove too much now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (19) (12/1 +0%) Hands On |
12/1(+0%) | (19) Hands On 12/1, Promising individual. One win from 2 runs last season. Won 10-runner juvenile hurdle (9/2) at Cork (16.1f, good to soft), cosily. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (2) (5/1 +9%) Holly |
5/1(+9%) | (2) Holly 5/1, Good second of 9 in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Haydock (15.6f, good to soft) 33 days ago, finishing with running left. Another bold show likely. Ran well under a big weight in a handicap at Haydock last month, 7lb claim should help. |

9/1(+64%) | (27) Grappa Nonino 9/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap (10/3) at Clonmel (16.6f, good). Off 7 months. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Merits consideration. RESERVE. Second reserve, useful staying handicapper on Flat, won a juvenile maiden hurdle. |

22/1(-10%) | (16) Rumi 22/1, Lightly-raced winner under Rules. Switches from Flat to hurdles (successful on the level at Gowran recently) and will need to raise his game in order to emerge on top here. Won a Flat handicap last week after a break, strong chance if this does not come too soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (33/1 +18%) Garrybello |
33/1(+18%) | (5) Garrybello 33/1, 11/4, creditable fourth of 13 in maiden at Dundalk (12f). Switches from Flat to hurdles and looks vulnerable. Dual winner over hurdles in France in his young days, has run well on the AW at Dundalk. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (21) (66/1 -136%) The Shantou King |
66/1(-136%) | (21) The Shantou King 66/1, Good fourth of 9 in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Tipperary (16f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Tongue strap back on, cheekpieces back on. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Closely matched with Killeemore Lad on recent Tipperary form, this is a much deeper race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
UNDENIABLE ALIBI debuts in handicaps and has recent form. A point-to-point winner, he won a February maiden at Clonmel and then ran well when finishing third at Naas last month, form which was franked by the fourth-placed horse. Rumi returned from a year off the track when winning on the Flat at Gowran. His fifth-placed effort behind Irish Point in March 2023 reads very well and he's one to note. Ballycallan King won quite easily at Limerick recently but has been raised 9lb.
Despite being passed over by Mark Walsh, the unexposed HANDS ON makes plenty of appeal. Indeed, it was a decent maiden that he won at Cork in October and, provided all is well following a break, he could be about to take a step forward now pitched into a handicap. Undeniable Alibi is also open to improvement and is just about feared most ahead of British raider Holly, Nara, who is Walsh's pick, and Answering.
Edward O'Grady may have the solution to this with RUMI who made a winning reappearance on the Flat at Gowran last week

1st (12) (15/2 +12%) Pinkerton |
15/2(+12%) | (12) Pinkerton 15/2, Useful winner over hurdles who got off the mark at fourth attempt in this sphere when taking 13-runner novice at Tipperary (16.5f, good to soft) 9 days ago, driven out. Fairly treated, on switch to handicapping, and must enter calculations. Recent winning favourite at Tipperary, goes into handicap company 4lb below hurdles mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 +36%) Saint Roi |
9/1(+36%) | (1) Saint Roi 9/1, Ran right up to best when second of 15 in handicap chase at Aintree (15.8f, soft) 21 days ago, clear of remainder. Yard continues in fine form and another bold show is likely. Second in the Red Rum at Aintree reversing Grand Annual form with Path D'oroux, place hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/1 -10%) Enniskerry |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Enniskerry 11/1, 7/1, respectable seventh of 22 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, good to soft). Off 9 months. Down in trip. Not out of things. Did not get home on the uphill run in the Galway Plate; 7-1 then so could be fancied here. |

16/1(-45%) | (4) Solness 16/1, Eleventh of 16 in handicap chase at Cheltenham (15.9f, heavy, 12/1) 50 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Down the field in the Grand Annual (Path D'oroux third), new headgear combination.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (17/2 +29%) Path D'oroux |
17/2(+29%) | (7) Path D'oroux 17/2, Yet to score over fences but has acquitted himself well in valuable handicaps over this sort of trip in recent months, making the frame at Leopardstown, Cheltenham and Aintree. Likely to be on the premises again. Third in the Grand Annual, and third again in the Red Rum at Aintree, merits respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

33/1(-65%) | (17) Pats Choice 33/1, Below form well-beaten fifth of 9 to Captains Nephew in handicap chase (10/1) at Fairyhouse (16.7f, heavy) 32 days ago. Stable in good form. Back to a potentially lenient mark. Has been found wanting since Naas win in January, this mark gives him a fair chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (5/1 +58%) Mighty Tom |
5/1(+58%) | (8) Mighty Tom 5/1, Not really built on encouraging Cork chase debut in 2 subsequents starts but goes well fresh and booking of Jack Kennedy catches the eye. Interesting contender. Has run with credit in Graded novice events, could slot into handicaps effectively. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (50/1 -127%) Figaroc |
50/1(-127%) | (10) Figaroc 50/1, Best effort over fences when third in listed handicap at Gowran (16f) in March but failed to meet expectations twice since. Remote third behind Captains Nephew at Fairyhouse, disappointing at Perth last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (14) (20/1 -43%) The Folkes Tiara |
20/1(-43%) | (14) The Folkes Tiara 20/1, Two wins from 6 runs last season, latest at Leopardstown in December. Not been in same form either start since, however. Won at Leopardstown at Christmas, struggled in the Grand Annual after an early mistake. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (80/1 -186%) Rebel Gold |
80/1(-186%) | (6) Rebel Gold 80/1, 34 lengths fourth of 6 to Journey With Me in Fairyhouse Chase (50/1) at Fairyhouse (19.7f, heavy) 31 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Veteran is dropped in class after Grade 2 Fairyhouse run, younger rivals preferred. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (15/8 +53%) Blood Destiny |
15/8(+53%) | (2) Blood Destiny 15/8, Smart hurdler who resumed his progress over fences with victory in the Flyingbolt at Navan (16f) in March. Not seen to best effect at Fairyhouse over longer trip since and remains with potential on handicap bow. Strong form linked to Grade 1 winner Spillane's Tower, appeals as stable's best chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (28/1 +0%) Typical Thomas |

Work to do on handicap chase debut. Ambitiously campaigned on unsuitable winter ground, worth considering on a better surface. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
In common with many high-class novices, BLOOD DESTINY is well respected on his handicap debut. His chase form is consistently strong and, although just a five-year-old, he has sufficient experience to tackle a big-field handicap like this. Path D'oroux has competed at every big festival since early December and, having performed well in similar valuable handicaps on each of his last four runs, he should again be competitive under a 5lb claimer. Former County Hurdle winner Saint Roi hasn't won since a Grade 1 success in December 2022 but did go well at Aintree latest.
Preference is for MIGHTY TOM, who ran a cracker over hurdles at this meeting last year and looks nicely treated on switch to handicapping in this sphere. Saint Roi and Blood Destiny look the pick of Willie Mullins quartet and are feared most, whilst Pinkerton is also much respected.
Tuesday's Grade 1 win for Spillane's Tower has significantly strengthened the case in favour of BLOOD DESTINY in his first handicap

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
COKO BEACH was beaten 34 lengths in the Grand National but had previously won on this cross country course in February. Suited by soft ground and a dour stayer, he can put last month's Aintree experience to good use. A 15-year-old won this race in 2022 although last year's winner Vital Island, now aged 12, was pulled up behind the selection in that February contest and needs more. The in-form Birchdale defeated Vital Island when winning here in November and is another to bear in mind.
COKO BEACH can have his latest effort in the Grand National ignored and he was impressive on this Cross Country course the time before, so he's fancied to get back to winning ways with the others all having something to find. Stumptown is the clear danger on on form if he takes to this discipline and his stablemate Fameaftertheglory is no forlorn hope.
This looks tailor-made for high-class handicapper COKO BEACH who won over the shorter version of this course in February

1/3(-14%) | (1) Gaelic Warrior 1/3, Grade 1 3m novice hurdle winner at this meeting last season and unbeaten in completed starts over fences this term, impressive when landing the Arkle in a first-time hood 7 weeks ago. Will take the beating. Brilliant winner of the Arkle at Cheltenham in a first-time hood, short price to follow up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/1 +45%) Hercule Du Seuil |
11/1(+45%) | (2) Hercule Du Seuil 11/1, Won 5 in a row over fences and not seen to best effect in the Maghull (2m) at Aintree back from 6 months off, messed about at the start and very much looked after with winning out of the question. Cleverly placed to win five in a row before taking on Grade 1 horses at Aintree. |

4th (4) (125/1 +38%) Mount Frisco |
125/1(+38%) | (4) Mount Frisco 125/1, Fairly useful chaser. 9/2, good second of 9 in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (16.7f, heavy) 32 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Huge shock if he wins this. Useful hurdler/chaser who holds his form well, stable never shirks a challenge.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GAELIC WARRIOR gained his first Cheltenham win in March and is a standout performer who is ideally suited by conditions. Everything went right for him at Cheltenham as he completely left behind his Leopardstown no-show, and he has twice comfortably defeated Il Etait Temps, form which he should confirm here. Il Etait Temps was himself a fine winner at the top level at Aintree 21 days ago and cannot be completely overlooked. Hercule Du Seuil received a minor bump at the start at Aintree last month but was well held and looks most likely to finish third.
A Willie Mullins benefit in this novice once again and GAELIC WARRIOR can give the Champion Trainer a ninth straight victory in this Grade 1. He was impressive when winning the Arkle and will take all the beating. Il Etait Temps and Hercule du Seuil should complete a 1-2-3 for the stable with clear rounds.
A stunning winner of the Arkle, GAELIC WARRIOR can again prove too strong for stablemate Il Etait Temps

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
There is rain forecast for Punchestown on Thursday, but Teahupoo would really need plenty. As this season's Stayers' Hurdle winner at Cheltenham, he is the one to beat but is swerved at a short price on forecast ground that doesn't ideally suit him. HOME BY THE LEE was unable to get on terms with Teahupoo when third at Cheltenham, but has a shot at getting closer on this ground. He has been lightly raced and could come to the boil here. Sire Du Berlais has a decent record on better ground and was third in this race last year.
TEAHUPOO had a few of these in behind him in the Stayers' at Cheltenham last month and can underline he's the class act in this division at present by following up here. Cheltenham third Home By The Lee might be the one to chase him home ahead of the selection's stablemate Sire du Berlais, who was third in this 12 months ago.
After his victory at Cheltenham, TEAHUPOO has clearly established himself as the best staying hurdler around and should win this

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CAPTAIN CODY is up in trip and would welcome rain, but his class could see him through for Willie Mullins. He was a decisive winner of a Grade 2 novice hurdle over 2m4f at Fairyhouse at the end of March which bodes well for this assignment. Maxxum wasn't quite done with when falling after two out in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse latest and has his chance with Carl Millar taking 7lb off his back. Captain Cody's stablemate O'Moore Park could respond well to the first-time hood, while Coming Up Easy hacked up in a maiden hurdle at Limerick and lurks towards the bottom of the weights for Henry de Bromhead.
LUCKY LYREEN's form is on an upward curve so Gordon Elliott's hat-trick seeker looks the way to go. The Willie Mullins-trained duo O'Moore Park and Captain Cody both look to have better days ahead of them too and could emerge as the chief threats, although the likes of Kinturk Kalanisi, Will Do and Coming Up Easy also need factoring into this highly competitive handicap.
It will take a good one to lower the colours of CAPTAIN CODY after a decisive success in graded company at Fairyhouse

4/1(+78%) | (13) Casa No Mento 4/1, 10/11, capitalised on the drop in grade to make it 3-4 over hurdles in 8-runner novice at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 19 days ago, soon clear. This obviously tougher, but this English raider is worth her place in this company. Does not want it too soft and capable of better, but will need to if she is to play a hand. |

2nd (5) (5/1 +9%) Got Glory |
5/1(+9%) | (5) Got Glory 5/1, Won sole start in France and having been pitched in much too deep for her hurdling debut 12 months ago, had plenty in hand when justifying strong support in 19-runner maiden hurdle at Naas (16f, soft) 4 weeks ago. Expected to take another big step forward. Naas winner; more needed but looks like she could be open to consideravle improvement. |

7/4(-230%) | (11) Spindleberry 7/4, Made a winning hurdling debut at Fairyhouse in January and coped admirably with the marked step up in grade when 2¼ lengths second of 17 to Jade De Grugy in Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novices' Hurdle Championship Final there (20f, heavy) 32 days ago. Could take some stopping. Travels well so the drop in trip is unlikely to be an issue; very much the one to beat. |

6th (7) (28/1 +0%) Kilbarry Saint |
28/1(+0%) | (7) Kilbarry Saint 28/1, Opened her account at Clonmel in February and ran a cracker upped in grade when 4½ lengths second of 8 to Mirazur West in Hardy Eustace Novices' Hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) 32 days ago. 8th (8) (25/1 -14%) Mayor's Walk |
25/1(-14%) | (8) Mayor's Walk 25/1, Made a winning hurdling debut at Listowel in September. Pulled up in listed hurdle at this course (19.2f, heavy, 14/1) 5 months ago won by Jetara, in touch when bad mistake 2 out. Remains with potential. Lost all chance when making a bad mistake two out here in December; could contend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (18/1 +28%) Theatre Native |
18/1(+28%) | (12) Theatre Native 18/1, Pulled up twice over hurdles either side of getting off the mark in maiden at Fairyhouse in February. Headgear discarded and it's tough to see her involved at this level. Easily won a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle but pulled up in both runs either side; has ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (4) (18/1 +45%) Mollys Mango |
18/1(+45%) | (4) Mollys Mango 18/1, Bumper winner who made a successful start to her hurdle career in 2m maiden at Thurles in November and quickly back on track when making the most of a simple task at Fairyhouse (17.2f) in January. Touch disappointing on first start for new trainer at Cheltenham, however, so must bounce back. Unplaced on her stable debut in the mares novice hurdle at Cheltenham; others preferred. |

50/1(-25%) | (16) Lucy Wang 50/1, 7/1, yet to be asked for effort when slipped up home turn in maiden hurdle at Naas (16f, soft) 4 weeks ago, likely to have finished in the frame. This a different kettle of kish, however. Unexposed and one of those that might well outrun her likely odds. |

50/1(-79%) | (3) Miss Agusta 50/1, Capitalised on the drop in grade when winning 5-runner minor event hurdle (9/2) at Limerick (16.2f, heavy) 39 days ago, edging ahead post. |PU| (15) (100/1 -25%) Karacole |
100/1(-25%) | (15) Karacole 100/1, Good second of 6 in maiden hurdle (15/2) at Navan (20f, heavy) 40 days ago, having run of race. Plenty to find on form. Dropped in grade when runner-up in a 2m4f Navan maiden hurdle in March; hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SPINDLEBERRY outran her odds when a creditable runner-up in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse latest and that form gives her leading claims for Willie Mullins. Her stablemate Got Glory is certainly one to note. She actually made her Irish debut in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse last year, but was pulled up after racing freely. She has had her issues, but returned almost a year later to hack up in a Naas maiden last month. Me Wee Bonnie Lass is a very likeable sort who is three from four over hurdles, while British raider Casa No Mento isn't out of it.
Willie Mullins continues his dominance with five runners and it's SPINDLEBERRY who gets the nod having coped admirably with the marked step up in grade when finishing runner-up in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse recently. Stablemate Got Glory had stacks in hand when winning her maiden last month so she's put forward as the main danger with significant progress expected, while Me Wee Bonnie Lass, Implicit and Casa No Mento are all also fancied to go well, too.
Willie Mullins' SPINDLEBERRY(nap) stepped up to Grade 1 company when second over 2m4f at Fairyhouse. 2m could well suit

1st (9) (18/1 -200%) Wingmen |
18/1(-200%) | (9) Wingmen 18/1, Irish point winner who justified cramped odds on Rules/bumper debut at Naas (2m) in December and despite again not looking the most tractable, he ran to a similar level when third back at that venue 67 days ago. Clearly a very useful prospect provided he learns to settle. Hood retained here. No match for William Munny in a Naas winners bumper but not one to discount here. |

2nd (7) (12/1 +25%) Queensbury Boy |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Queensbury Boy 12/1, £130,000 purchase after winning an Irish point in March. Confirmed himself a good prospect when getting the better of a previous bumper winner at Chepstow (2m, heavy) in December. Absent subsequently but he remains with a good deal of untapped potential. Landed a four-runner Chepstow bumper on his track debut in December; tons more needed here. |

3rd (8) (8/1 +71%) The Passing Wife |
8/1(+71%) | (8) The Passing Wife 8/1, Fair form when fourth on hurdles debut in October and perfect start in this sphere when landing a C&D bumper in November. Latest second at Fairyhouse (2m, heavy) was his best effort yet and not discounted for all this rates tougher again. Ran into a good one in Redemption Day at Fairyhouse last time; each-way chance at best. |

4th (1) (8/1 +27%) Angelo Dundee |
8/1(+27%) | (1) Angelo Dundee 8/1, Authorized gelding who looked an exciting prospect when taking 22-runner bumper at this meeting 12 months ago, his burst to the front particularly impressive. Absent since but he's clearly a very good prospect moving forward. Has to be a concern that he has not been seen since last year and might be best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/3 +5%) Goldinthemountains |
10/3(+5%) | (4) Goldinthemountains 10/3, Flat-bred gelding who showed plenty of ability when fourth in a bumper here 12 months ago and improved after 8 months off/on debut for new yard when winning 12-runner Leopardstown bumper (2m) in December. In good hands and of interest again. Leopardstown winner; tongue-tie tried; could be capable of significant improvement still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -22%) Cantico |
11/1(-22%) | (3) Cantico 11/1, Won sole start in points and built on a promising Rules debut to land a 5-runner bumper at Navan (15.7f) in February. Seemingly not 100% in Champion bumper subsequently but highly likely he can bounce back for his powerful stable. The selection of Paul Townend at Cheltenham when cutting out completely; could go better. |

7th (5) (25/1 +24%) Nowwhatdoyouthink |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Nowwhatdoyouthink 25/1, Successful only start in points and having shaped encouragingly when fourth on bumper debut at Fairyhouse in January, he was much improved (in first-time tongue tie) when making a winning stable debut at Cork (19f) 32 days ago, doing it readily. Could be more to come. Won a Cork bumper over further at Easter for his new trainer; this is far more competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (50/1 +0%) Big Dee |
50/1(+0%) | (2) Big Dee 50/1, Thrice-raced winner in bumpers. 17/2, sixth of 8 in bumper at Leopardstown (16f, soft) 125 days ago, dropping away gradually having raced freely. Hood reached for now. Disappointing in a Leopardstown winners bumper in December; tried in a hood here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (9/2 -13%) Samyr |
9/2(-13%) | (10) Samyr 9/2, Sea The Moon gelding who justified good support to make a winning debut in a Gowran bumper (2m) in January, drawing clear final 1f. In receipt of weight all round and worth considering with progress distinctly possible. Impressive at Gowran; better ground could well suit and looks to have a big chance here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (5/2 -53%) Port Joulain |
5/2(-53%) | (6) Port Joulain 5/2, £300,000 purchase following success only start in points (Dec 2023) and despite a late market drift, looked a very bright prospect when successful on bumper debut at Gowran (18f) in March. Represents top stable and he's one for the shortlist with prospect of more to come. Winner of a Gowran bumper on heavy; could improve for this better ground but may need to. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SAMYR impressed with a clear-cut success on heavy ground at Gowran Park and should improve on better ground considering he was bought to go on the Flat. Port Joulain merits automatic respect as he represents team Mullins. After his Gowran Park success in March, Willie Mullins commented that he would have been one for Cheltenham, but that he couldn't get him ready in time. Mullins' Cantico was eased when beaten in the Champion Bumper and could bounce back on this ground. Angelo Dundee hasn't been seen since winning a bumper on debut at the Punchestown Festival last year, but he has plenty of ability and cannot be ruled out.
An expensive recruit having landed his only start in points, PORT JOULAIN looked a very bright prospect as he made a winning debut in this sphere at Gowran in March and he looks to hold sound claims with the prospect of even better to come. There is unsurprisingly plenty of depth to this bumper however, with Samyr, Goldinthemountains and the returning Angelo Dundee just a trio of others to consider.
Preference is for SAMYR, who won like a good horse on heavy at Gowran and better ground could well suit
Ths is the racecard key.
