1st (12) ![]() Adela Icon |
9/2(-29%) | (12) Adela Icon 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving David Harry Kelly when bit below form tenth of 16 in bumper (2/1) at Cork (16f, soft) 35 days ago. Hood enlisted for this hurdles debut. Placed in bumpers in 2023, may have needed her comeback, not discounted; hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) ![]() Whimsy |
5/4(+0%) | (5) Whimsy 5/4, Fair hurdler. Remains a maiden after 9 hurdle runs. 14/1, good third of 6 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, soft) 19 days ago. Definite claims. 0-9 over timber but has run well in defeat, handles heavy ground, leading form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) ![]() Paul Collins |
3/1(+33%) | (9) Paul Collins 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 16 in novice hurdle (16/1) at this course (16.2f, heavy) 28 days ago, weakening before last. Handicaps likely to be more his bag but claims of getting in the mix nevertheless. Placed in first maiden hurdle, heavy ground may not have suited latest, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) ![]() Sioux Eagle |
12/1(-41%) | (10) Sioux Eagle 12/1, Fair maiden on Flat (stays 1¾m) who posted respectable efforts on each of her last 3 starts last summer. Betting can point the way now attentions switch to hurdling. 0-8 on the Flat and rated 73, best form on good ground, heavy conditions an unknown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Asisaid |
80/1(-60%) | (1) Asisaid 80/1, Fair Flat winner but eleventh of 24 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, soft) in October. Stamina has to be taken on trust now switched to hurdles. Two-time flat winner at modest level, likes testing ground, stamina a query, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) ![]() Adaliz |
12/1(+0%) | (11) Adaliz 12/1, Once-raced maiden. Eleventh of 16 in novice hurdle (12/1) at this course (16.2f, heavy) on NH debut 28 days ago, never involved. Looks one for later on judged on that evidence. Jumping lacked fluency on debut, yard in better form now, worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) ![]() Nukie's Artic |
80/1(0%) | (8) Nukie's Artic 80/1, Arctic Cosmos gelding. Dam, lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 29f) Captain Cj. Probably best watched on debut. Son of Arctic Cosmos may need further in time, probably best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) ![]() I'm Flattered |
80/1(0%) | (13) I'm Flattered 80/1, Modest maiden on the Flat. Twice-raced maiden under Rules. Tongue strap on for 1st time in this code, eighth of 18 in novice hurdle at Thurles (16.1f, good, 125/1) on hurdles bow 65 days ago. 0-3 on the Flat, promise on hurdles debut at Thurles, place claims if building on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) ![]() Quantum Leap |
80/1(-567%) | (3) Quantum Leap 80/1, 9/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (14.5f, good), very slowly away. First run for yard after leaving Edward Bethell and interesting to see how he fares in the betting ahead of this hurdles debut. Won off 82 on the Flat for Ed Bethell, may need further than this, hooded, best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) ![]() Mollys Dolly |
200/1(-100%) | (14) Mollys Dolly 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden under Rules. Tenth of 12 in novice hurdle (100/1) at this course (19.2f, heavy) on hurdles bow 28 days ago, weakening before 3 out. Opposable. Potential on debut in Naas bumper, well beaten on hurdles bow, others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) ![]() Morse |
11/2(+73%) | (2) Morse 11/2, Fairly useful Flat winner (stays 13f). Ninth of 21 in novice hurdle (25/1) at this course (16.9f, heavy) on NH debut 43 days ago. That experience won't be wasted on him and likely to do better in time. 80 rated on the Flat, well behind Come On The Lads on hurdles debut, may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Klap |
250/1(-213%) | (7) Klap 250/1, £23,000 3-y-o, Free Port Lux gelding. Half brother to French hurdler Flakzane and fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Caltex. Pulled up both starts between the flags. Pulled up both starts in points, related to winners but may need more time. |
WHIMSY can gain an overdue win over jumps here. The mare has been placed eight times over timber, most recently when third in a decent rated novice event at Fairyhouse 19 days ago. The six-year-old has got her head in front three times on the Flat, so she knows how to win and this looks like a nice opportunity for her now over hurdles. The Gordon Elliott-trained Paul Collins was well beaten when sixth here last month but this looks like an easier task now and he's a contender on previous form. Adela Icon showed promise in bumpers and she warrants the utmost respect now tried over hurdles for Willie Mullins.
WHIMSY is a likeable sort who again ran well on the back of a short break when third at Fairyhouse recently and she's fancied to deservedly open her account in this sphere. Adela Icon was too free on debut for Willie Mullins at Cork but she will be a threat if settling better with a hood added now switched to hurdles. Quantum Leap, twice a winner on the Flat, is also shortlisted on his first start over obstacles.

![]() Runcok |
(8) 6/4(+20%) | (8) Runcok 6/4, Thrice-raced maiden. 11/4, fifth of 9 in bumper at Fairyhouse (16f, good to soft) 44 days ago. One to consider for top yard now switched to hurdles. Expensive to follow in bumpers, should be capable of better over timber, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Grey Pharoh |
(6) 7/4(+90%) | (6) Grey Pharoh 7/4, €80,000 3-y-o, Policy Maker gelding. Dam, lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles, sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chase winner (stayed 23f) Olofi. Didn't show a great deal in a couple of maiden points but since joined a top yard and he needs a close look in the betting. No impact in two points, dam from a good family, in good hands and worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Come On The Lads |
(1) 6/1(-380%) | (1) Come On The Lads 6/1, Promising sort. Fairly useful winner at 12f on the Flat. Very good fourth of 21 in novice hurdle at this course (16.9f, heavy, 50/1) 43 days ago. Open to progress. Rated 81 on the Flat, showed a bit more when fourth here last month, has a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lambay Island |
(7) 7/1(+42%) | (7) Lambay Island 7/1, Twice-raced maiden under Rules. Fourth of 13 in novice hurdle (33/1) at Fairyhouse (16.2f, soft) on hurdles bow 39 days ago. May well do better. Well beaten in sole bumper, better effort on hurdles bow, yard hitting form, may do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Free Flow |
(5) 12/1(+52%) | (5) Free Flow 12/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. Once-raced maiden. Sixth of 22 in novice hurdle at this course (16.2f, soft, 66/1) on NH debut 21 days ago. Should improve. 0-15 on the Flat, showed promise here on hurdles debut, place chance if improves on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fortunate Lighting |
(4) 22/1(-300%) | (4) Fortunate Lighting 22/1, Promising sort. Sixth of 19 in novice hurdle (22/1) at Tipperary (20f, good to soft) on hurdles bow, not knocked about. Off 10 months but she's open to improvement and should be involved if raring to go. Won a Galway bumper in 2023, promise on hurdles bow last April, off since, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() High Court Cave |
(2) 33/1(-136%) | (2) High Court Cave 33/1, Thrice-raced winner under Rules. 1 win from 3 runs this season. 40/1, tenth of 14 in novice hurdle at Naas (18.7f, heavy) on hurdles bow 29 days ago. Open to improvement. Point and bumper winner, disappointing on hurdles debut, capable of better, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Spread Your Wings |
(13) 40/1(-60%) | (13) Spread Your Wings 40/1, Promising individual. 20/1, fifth of 6 in bumper at Limerick (16f, heavy) on bumper debut 27 days ago. Switches from bumpers to hurdles. Hood on 1st time and should progress. Showed promise over hurdles at Listowel, may have needed latest, could improve; hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Regards To Rose |
(12) 66/1(+47%) | (12) Regards To Rose 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden under Rules. 50/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, fourteenth of 17 in novice hurdle at Limerick (20f, soft) 59 days ago. Needs to improve. Point winner, placed on hurdles bow, beaten 85l on latest, down in trip but hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Vallon Du Plessis |
(10) 200/1(+20%) | (10) Vallon Du Plessis 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Twentieth of 22 in novice hurdle (200/1) at this course (16.2f, soft) 21 days ago. Hard to fancy. Big odds and no show in three runs here on soft-heavy, hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Summer Is Here |
(9) 300/1(-20%) | (9) Summer Is Here 300/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, seventeenth of 22 in novice hurdle at this course (16.2f, soft) 21 days ago. Readily passed over. Well beaten in all three maiden hurdles here on soft-heavy, hard to make a case for. |
RUNCOK looks to have found a nice opportunity here on his jumping debut. The Cokoriko gelding has shown a decent level in bumpers and wasn't beaten far when fifth to De Temps En Temps at Fairyhouse last month. This looks like a weak enough event for the course. Fortunate Lighting has had lengthy enough gaps between runs but was a Galway bumper winner a couple of years ago and shaped with promise on his hurdling debut at Tipperary when last seen in April. Lambay Island was a moderate enough fourth on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse but is entitled to improve on that display.
It may well be that handicaps will bring out the best in COME ON THE LADS in due course but he has nevertheless shown enough in maiden hurdles at Leopardstown and this course on his last two starts to make him of strong interest in this race. Fortunate Lighting could be the main danger, provided that she is fully tuned-up following a break, while hurdles debutant Runcok and Spread Your Wings are also shortlisted.
COME ON THE LADS shaped with promise over C&D last month and he might not need to improve much more to figure in this company

![]() Familiar Dreams |
(1) 6/4(+100%) | (1) Familiar Dreams 6/4, Promising type. Four-time bumper winner last season and also successful on the Flat last summer. 9/4, third of 12 in maiden at this course (19.2f, heavy) on hurdles bow 28 days ago. Should improve and the one to beat. Bumper and Flat winner, should improve on her hurdles bow here last month, big claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Toad Hall |
(10) 9/5(+28%) | (10) Toad Hall 9/5, Evens, second of 11 in bumper at Clonmel (16.6f, heavy) on debut in April 2023. Not seen since but top yard perseveres and Paul Townend seemingly prefers him to Leaky Cauldron. Good form in sole bumper in April 2023, absent since but Townend rides, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Leaky Cauldron |
(4) 10/3(+56%) | (4) Leaky Cauldron 10/3, Point winner but well beaten on Leopardstown bumper debut over Christmas. Will surely do better at some point but Paul Townend is on the yard's other runner. Point winner, no impact in a bumper on stable debut, Townend prefers stablemate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Game On |
(3) 13/2(-18%) | (3) Game On 13/2, Runner-up completed start in points (Apr 2024). The betting should help guide to expectations now hurdling. Off since good run in a point in April, tongue tied for hurdles debut, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Our Soldier |
(6) 20/1(+0%) | (6) Our Soldier 20/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 8/1, third of 8 in maiden at Down Royal (17.2f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 60 days ago. Open to improvement. Promise in two of three starts including on hurdles bow latest after a break, may improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Milanova |
(5) 50/1(+0%) | (5) Milanova 50/1, 80/1, seventh of 20 in maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, soft) on NH debut 30 days ago. Up in trip. Didn't jump that well on debut at Fairyhouse, needs a lot more to make an impact here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() The Mail Train |
(9) 150/1(-50%) | (9) The Mail Train 150/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, sixth of 11 in maiden hurdle at Limerick (21f, soft) 58 days ago. Modest form in points and first two maiden hurdles, needs more to make an impact here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Westandtogether |
(11) 150/1(-127%) | (11) Westandtogether 150/1, Westerner mare. Sister to fairly useful 21f hurdle winner Top Target. Dam unraced. Likely best watched on debut. Westerner mare is a sister to a hurdles winner, worth a market check on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sir Carnegie |
(8) 250/1(-25%) | (8) Sir Carnegie 250/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Pulled up in maiden hurdle at this course (23.3f, soft, 250/1) 21 days ago. Booked for another struggle. Huge odds and no impact in three maiden hurdles at a variety of trips, one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bitofajokelike |
(2) 300/1(-20%) | (2) Bitofajokelike 300/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, ninth of 14 in maiden hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) 27 days ago. Up in trip. Outsider. Beaten over 90l in both starts over hurdles, makes no appeal. |
FAMILIAR DREAMS needs to jump a bit better on her second outing over hurdles but is a classy sort and can get off the mark now over timber. The four-time bumper winner was no match for the exciting Maughreen on her hurdling bow, fading late on to finish third here last month. With that experience under her belt, she should step forward though. Willie Mullins saddles two in this and Paul Townend rides the long-absent Toad Hall. The Fame And Glory gelding chased home a smart horse in Shannon Royale in a bumper back in April 2023. His stablemate Leaky Cauldron may do better now over jumps having been well beaten in a Leopardstown bumper at Christmas.
The classy FAMILIAR DREAMS made a decent start to her hurdle career here last month and should prove hard to beat unless the market vibes are strong surrounding Willie Mullins hurdle debutant Toad Hall, who has been absent for nearly 2 years since finishing a promising second in a Clonmel bumper. The other Mullins runner Leaky Cauldron and Henry de Bromhead's Pookie Holler may fight it out for third.
FAMILIAR DREAMS didn't jump well on her hurdles bow last month but she should have learnt plenty and she is the one to beat.

![]() Affinity Rock |
(1) 9/4(+10%) | (1) Affinity Rock 9/4, Winning pointer who ran to a modest level on Rules bow when sixth of 18 in maiden hurdle at Naas (19.6f) 70 days ago, no extra between last 2. May do better with that under her belt. Point winner, promise on hurdles debut at Naas, this trip might suit better, could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mayo Shirocco |
(7) 7/2(-40%) | (7) Mayo Shirocco 7/2, Shirocco mare who won on point debut (Oct 27). Interesting prospect switched to hurdling, especially if the market vibes are positive. Won a point, different ground here but she has some level of ability and she could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Milanaway |
(8) 11/2(+21%) | (8) Milanaway 11/2, Fair hurdler. Remains a maiden. 18/1, ninth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (20f, soft) 60 days ago. Capable of playing her part if shrugging that effort off. Rated 100, lacks consistency, hard to know what to expect from her back in a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Knocknagoran Lady |
(6) 13/2(+70%) | (6) Knocknagoran Lady 13/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, produced best effort yet when third of 19 in handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 17/2) 73 days ago. Considered. Rated 86, beaten off that mark in a h'cap latest, unlikely to be good enough to win this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Creadan Grace |
(2) 12/1(-200%) | (2) Creadan Grace 12/1, Kingston Hill mare. Half-sister to useful chaser Creadan Grae, stayed 3m and fair chaser October Revolution. Represents top stable and market confidence behind her would look significant on debut. Kingston Hill mare, from a decent family, in good hands and interesting on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Joshua's Daylami |
(4) 14/1(-17%) | (4) Joshua's Daylami 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 28/1, fifth of 12 in bumper at Naas (18.7f, heavy) 29 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Up in trip. Promise in bumpers, bred to stay so this trip might suit on hurdles debut, check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cullig |
(3) 80/1(+0%) | (3) Cullig 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Eleventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Naas (19.5f, good to soft, 66/1) 70 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. 0-3 in maiden hurdles, tongue tie on after another heavy defeat at Naas, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Justabitofyours |
(5) 100/1(-355%) | (5) Justabitofyours 100/1, Jet Away mare. Dam, unraced sister to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (stayed 3½m) Riverside City. Made frame completed start in points (Nov 10). Betting should unearth some clues making Rules/hurdles debut. Fourth in second point but beaten 18l, may need more time, probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Neska Blue |
(9) 200/1(-300%) | (9) Neska Blue 200/1, Libertarian mare. Placed once from 3 starts in points but offered little equipped with a tongue strap (retained here) when last of 6 in bumper at Limerick (16f, heavy) on NH debut 27 days ago. Significantly up in trip for hurdles bow. 0-3 in points, 80-1 and well beaten in a Limerick bumper, best watched on hurdles bow. |
AFFINITY ROCK ran well for a long way in a stronger maiden hurdle at Naas in December and should play a big part in this now. The daughter of Affinisea had won a point-to-point at Dromahane in impressive fashion the previous month and going up in trip now should suit. Mayo Shirocco is another point-to-point winner who has to be on the shortlist. The Colin Bowe-trained mare won between the flags in October and the third horse was placed in a bumper at Newcastle recently. The Gordon Elliott-trained newcomer Creadan Grace is another to note.
MAYO SHIROCCO arrives having tasted success on her only start in points back in October and could be the way to go on hurdles debut before market clues. Creadan Grace is another newcomer to note representing Gordon Elliott, with Milanaway, Affinity Rock and Knocknagoran Lad appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
A chance is taken on the point winner AFFINITY ROCK who may be suited by the step up in trip after running a decent race at Naas

![]() Rokathir |
(12) 5/2(+29%) | (12) Rokathir 5/2, Lightly-raced type was in the process over running well when departing 2 out on chasing debut last month. Very interesting back over smaller obstacles on handicap debut. Ordinary maiden hurdle form, in contention when falling two out in a chase here on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Plain Or Battered |
(13) 11/2(+27%) | (13) Plain Or Battered 11/2, Best forgiven latest effort when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Limerick (24f, soft, 10/1) 58 days ago and remains one to be interested in wearing first-time blinkers on his return from a short-break. Navan third in December was encouraging after a break, pulled up at Limerick, blinkers now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Buck Rogers |
(10) 6/1(+25%) | (10) Buck Rogers 6/1, Back to form when creditable third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (19.8f, soft) 19 days ago. Up in trip and best run in handicaps to date came over this distance. Over four years since he won a race, recent Fairyhouse third offers some hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cosmo Renfro |
(7) 13/2(+74%) | (7) Cosmo Renfro 13/2, Raced on unfavoured part of track when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Gowran (24.3f, heavy, 18/1) 32 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Good form in first half of 2024, failed to complete twice over fences, poor run on latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Thegraveyardbookie |
(6) 8/1(+43%) | (6) Thegraveyardbookie 8/1, Turned in best effort of the season in first time tongue strap when creditable fifth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (24f, soft, 16/1) 58 days ago. Entitled to build on that effort with the addition of cheekpieces. Limerick fifth at Christmas was reasonably encouraging, needs to find extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Roxhill Roise |
(4) 8/1(+0%) | (4) Roxhill Roise 8/1, Left poorly placed when respectable eighth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Navan (20f, good to soft, 13/2) 71 days ago and should remain competitive if in the same form. Both wins have come over 2m5f at Tramore, ran creditably in bumpers at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lucky Viv |
(5) 17/2(-42%) | (5) Lucky Viv 17/2, Capitalised on reduced mark when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at this course (23.3f, soft) 21 days ago but tougher task from 7 lb higher. Stayed well when winning over just short of 3m here last time, fair chance off 7lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Topgun Simmy |
(1) 11/1(+31%) | (1) Topgun Simmy 11/1, Course winner shaped with little encouragement on first run since leaving John Joseph Hanlon when fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at this course (19.2f, heavy) 28 days ago, although faced inadequate test. Up in trip should help but others have stronger claims. Maiden winner at this venue last summer, out of his depth in a decent contest last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ballinoe Blaze |
(9) 22/1(-38%) | (9) Ballinoe Blaze 22/1, Made errors when fifth of 14 in novice hurdle (33/1) at Limerick (19f, soft) 57 days ago. Significantly up in trip and needs to brush up on jumping to be competitive on handicap hurdle debut Third in an ordinary maiden on his penultimate start, opening mark is possibly a bit high. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cozone |
(11) 28/1(+30%) | (11) Cozone 28/1, Ran poorly 33/1, ninth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Naas (18.7f, heavy) 29 days ago. Significantly back up in trip but difficult to fancy on recent form. Having a busy season and has lost form since second to a good yardstick here in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Carrig Sam |
(2) 50/1(-52%) | (2) Carrig Sam 50/1, Shaped with promise on reappearance last month before unseating latest. Needs to prove he stays this far, however. Two Fairyhouse wins three seasons ago, no sign of his best in three runs for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Influential Lady |
(8) 50/1(-52%) | (8) Influential Lady 50/1, Out of sorts in various events at the end of last year and hard to recommend on that evidence. Dual-purpose type whose form has been generally weak since a Flat success last June. |
There looks to be a race in ROKATHIR off this kind of mark. The Muhtathir gelding was running a big race in a beginners chase here last month before falling at the second-last fence. That looked like an improved performance from what he had shown over timber last season and he could be nicely treated here off a mark of 97. Lucky Viv got a 7lb rise for her victory over slightly shorter here 21 days ago. She saw out the trip well that day and should be competitive again. Heroes Rise was a solid third at Fairyhouse last time, despite getting turned over at a short price. He is respected but may need better ground.
Lightly-raced ROKATHIR was in the process of making a promising chase debut when falling last month, and he remains unexposed on handicap hurdle debut. Plain Or Battered would be a big threat if returning to form following a short break and a change of headgear, so he rates the main danger ahead of Heroes Rise who should be seen the better effect facing this greater stamina test.
There was some market interest in ROKATHIR in advance of Friday's postponed fixture and he may take advantage of his initial mark.

![]() Princess Fiadh |
(11) 150/1(-355%) | (11) Princess Fiadh 150/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Tongue strap on for 1st time, fell in novice hurdle (200/1) at Limerick (16f, soft) 97 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Maiden form does not amount to much, faller at Limerick in November, makes no appeal. |
BLUE REED made a bold bid from the front around Fairyhouse last month. The Cian Collins-trained gelding shot off into a huge lead but then tired late on as the in-form Duffys Hodey pounced on the run-in. The form looks solid with the winner following up since and Blue Reed is capable of winning off this kind of mark. Coffeys Forge has been placed on his last couple of starts and is another to consider, while a good case can also be made for Lariat.
It could be worth chancing I'M FOR HOME, who possibly still needed the run after another 3 months off at Fairyhouse and is on a nice mark on the pick of his form. Blue Reed has made a bright start for this yard and rates the main threat ahead of the in-form Coffeys Forge.
Though well beaten in second last time, COFFEYS FORGE (nap) has shown enough to suggest he can win a handicap of this standar

(13) 80/1(-300%) | (13) Kir Royal Blou 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 250/1, last of 22 in novice hurdle at this course (19.4f, good). Off 8 months. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Three-figure odds in three maiden hurdle outings and has run accordingly, up against it. |
Mighty Soldier was a staying-on third behind Bridie's Beau here last time and the winner has franked that form since, so he looks a big player. Johnny Cakes disappointed favourite backers at Clonmel but might be worth another chance, although BUTCHERS BILL makes more appeal for Gordon Elliott. He showed a little bit more last time out in a Fairyhouse maiden and is very interesting now sent handicapping for the first time.
MIGHTY SOLDIER took another step forward on his second start in a handicap when third here 4 weeks ago, faring best of those help up, and shades the vote over True Destiny, who's been knocking on the door of late. The in-form One And Only is another to consider.
An opening mark of 100 gives BUTCHERS BILL a realistic chance of making a winning start in handicap company

(3) 5/1(-25%) | (3) Lord Tobin 5/1, €85,000 3-y-o, Jeu St Eloi gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Halligator. Dam unraced. 1 of 2 for top yard with a very good record in this race. Bold show likely. 85,000euros Gordon Elliott purchase at 2024 Derby Sale. stable also runs Santo Sospir. |

(1) 12/1(+14%) | (1) Cholo 12/1, Maxios gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler Our Champ, stays 21f. Dam, fell sole start in points, half-sister to fair hurdler/chaser (stayed 2¾m) Nolans Pride. Half-brother to useful four-time hurdle winner Our Champ, dam fell in point. |

![]() Hillstar Blues |
(2) 33/1(-230%) | (2) Hillstar Blues 33/1, Hillstar gelding. Dam unraced sister to very smart hurdler (winner around 2m) Shadow Leader. Dam an unraced sister to Supreme Novices' winner Shadow Leader, Derek O'Connor booked. |
Gordon Elliott has two in this representing leading owners and the betting market may prove the best guide. Harry Swan takes the mount on SANTO SOSPIR and he could prove the pick in a race where only one has previous form. The Motivator gelding is a half-brother to a decent sort in Tyre Kicker and a mare who was Listed-placed in France. Jeu St Eloi gelding Lord Tobin runs in the Gigginstown colours. He cost 85,000 euros as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to hurdle winner Halligator. Gavin Cromwell's Top Coeur is another to keep an eye on.
Gordon Elliott has won the last 4 runnings of this bumper so it's probably best to narrow this down to his pair SANTO SOSPIR and Lord Tobin, with narrow preference for the former before any betting clues are known. Top Coeur is another newcomer from a good stable.
The early market for this race prior to postpone implied a preference for SANTO SOSPIR over Lord Tobin but it could be close
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
