1st (1) (5/6 +52%) Deploy To Spy |
5/6(+52%) | (1) Deploy To Spy 5/6, Runner-up in only bumper. Still in contention (likely to have been placed) when brought down 2 out on hurdles debut in July but made up for that piece of bad luck when successful in 12-runner Uttoxeter novice (2m, good) a fortnight later. Open to further progress for leading yard. Won readily by 5l at Uttoxeter in the summer and is a leading contender here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/4 -40%) Tommys Law |
7/4(-40%) | (3) Tommys Law 7/4, Runner-up both starts in points and fair form when filling the same position in Ayr maiden and C&D novice in the spring. Bold bid likely on return to action. Runner-up twice when dropped to 2m towards end of last season; must be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (66/1 -371%) Kow Boy Sivola |
66/1(-371%) | (6) Kow Boy Sivola 66/1, Sent off at 13/2 when well held in a course bumper for John McConnell in April. Has switched to Lucinda Russell since. The betting should help guide to expectations. Well down the field in soft-ground course bumper in April; now with new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 -157%) Chief Sunday |
18/1(-157%) | (4) Chief Sunday 18/1, €75,000 buy from good French family but down the field in 2 bumpers in the spring. Early days but would need to see market support to consider on hurdle debut. With a good stable but didn't show a great deal in two bumpers last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (15/2 -7%) Knomorediamonds |
15/2(-7%) | (5) Knomorediamonds 15/2, Showed some fair form in bumpers. Beaten only just over 3 lengths when fourth of 5 on his completed start in juvenile hurdles in the spring. May have more to offer this season. Not beaten far when fourth at Hexham in April but has a bit to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (100/1 -203%) The Dipper |
100/1(-203%) | (2) The Dipper 100/1, Might be more one for the longer term judged on his efforts in an Ayr bumper and C&D novice 5 months apart. Tailed off over C&D (good) when 66-1 for recent hurdle debut.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DEPLOY TO SPY bolted up by five lengths at Uttoxeter in July and he is likely to have plenty more to offer on only his third start over hurdles. Olly Murphy's six-year-old has a 7lb penalty to carry but considering the manner of his victory last time, he could still prove tough to beat. Tommys Law has hit the crossbar on each of his last two starts and he should go well again, while Chief Sunday is worth a market check on his first start over the smaller obstacles.
TOMMYS LAW made a promising start to his hurdle career in the spring and can make the most of the weight he receives from previous hurdle winner Deploy To Spy and land this opener for Lucinda Russell.
Tommys Law is respected but DEPLOY TO SPY quickened nicely clear on the run-in at Uttoxeter in July and gets the verdict.

1st (3) (5/2 +9%) Fourofakind |
5/2(+9%) | (3) Fourofakind 5/2, Struck at the second time of asking for Lizzie Quinlan in a C&D handicap in August. Respectable seventh of 17 in a big field on the Flat at York since. Likely to be very competitive back hurdling. Clearcut C&D winner last month, his second stable start; up 6lb but can feature again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +44%) Matchless |
10/3(+44%) | (2) Matchless 10/3, Winner of a 2m Musselburgh handicap last November. Bit mixed since but ran with credit when fourth in a 2m course handicap 15 days ago. Ran quite well over 2m here when back over hurdles this month; unexposed over 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -140%) Bois Guillbert |
6/1(-140%) | (1) Bois Guillbert 6/1, Won 3 of first 4 starts over hurdles, including a 2m Kelso handicap on last season's reappearance. Form levelled off subsequently but returns off only 1 lb above the mark he defied at Kelso and he evidently goes well fresh. Off since March but won when fresh last autumn; tries a new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 -140%) Sauce Of Life |
12/1(-140%) | (6) Sauce Of Life 12/1, Useful bumper winner who shaped well in 2 hurdles in November 2021 but not seen again until fading to finish eighth of 14 in Market Rasen handicap in March. Off a further 6 months since. Hard to be confident about. Very lightly raced 9yo; made fairly encouraging handicap debut in March; up in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (12/1 -50%) Malangen |
12/1(-50%) | (8) Malangen 12/1, Four-time course winner who opened his account for the season at Hexham (2m) in June. Mostly creditable efforts since and likely to be competitive again here. Multiple course winner; now 1lb lower then when third over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (14/1 +44%) Balally Park |
14/1(+44%) | (5) Balally Park 14/1, Modest in Ireland. Never a threat from a stiff opening handicap mark on Cartmel stable debut in June. Dropped 3 lb since but it doesn't look enough. Not beaten far when ninth of 13 on stable/handicap debut; remains unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (12/1 -71%) Vocal Duke |
12/1(-71%) | (4) Vocal Duke 12/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022 but he has been running well at Cartmel this summer, finishing third of 12 over 17f on latest start 32 days ago. Game effort when third at Cartmel last month; may not be as effective on this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (14/1 +30%) Palm Beach |
14/1(+30%) | (9) Palm Beach 14/1, It's now 17 runs since his last win in 2022 and he wasn't on his game over C&D last time. The cheekpieces he wore on that occasion are replaced by blinkers he won in when trained in Ireland. 5 lb out of the handicap. Finished well to snatch third over C&D in July but safely held twice since; 5lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (50/1 -100%) Bridgetjoans |
50/1(-100%) | (7) Bridgetjoans 50/1, Improved for a visor when runner-up at Catterick and Kelso in the spring. Run of good form came to a halt when well held over C&D in May and goes without the visor on her first outing since. Second twice in a visor towards end of last season; absent since poor C&D run in May. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FOUROFAKIND was a shock winner when accounting for his nearest rival by three lengths over track and trip last month and he is only 6lb higher for that triumph. Following a respectable effort on the Flat at York, Lizzie Quinlan's five-year-old has lots in his favour and is taken to record a hurdles double. Vocal Duke made the frame in a tougher contest than this at Catterick last time and he could have a say off a 1lb higher mark. Of the remainder, Matchless makes the most appeal.
BOIS GUILLBERT is only 1 lb higher than when scoring on last season's reappearance and is taken to repeat the feat. Fourofakind has run quite well on the Flat since his C&D success last month and is second choice ahead of Matchless.
Upped-in-trip 5yo BOIS GUILLBERT won when fresh last autumn and now bids to repeat that feat from a workable mark.

1st (4) (11/4 -57%) Bowling Buddy |
11/4(-57%) | (4) Bowling Buddy 11/4, Won second of 2 starts in Irish points in May and confirmed promise of Rules debut when landing a novice hurdle at Cartmel readily from Ravenscraig Castle a month ago. Open to more improvement and looks the one to beat. Easily beat Ravenscraig Castle in a Cartmel novice latest; player despite stiff mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/2 +69%) Ravenscraig Castle |
5/2(+69%) | (6) Ravenscraig Castle 5/2, Fairly useful stayer on Flat who hasn't fired for a while in that sphere but boasts a progressive profile in this sphere. Not discounted. Best ever hurdles effort earlier this month over C&D (good); well held on the Flat since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (4/1 +20%) Caldwell |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Caldwell 4/1, Won twice on AW Flat for Ivan Furtado last winter and confirmed the promise of last run when resuming winning ways in emphatic fashion at Worcester in July. Has remained in form since and should be on the premises again. Back in form win or lose in Worcester hurdles of late (2m, good), albeit in a lower grade.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (17/2 -155%) Cuban Cigar |
17/2(-155%) | (2) Cuban Cigar 17/2, Successful at Musselburgh last November and, after a below-par effort next time, has generally held form since, second over C&D in a first-time visor last time. Should be involved. Held only close home over C&D latest (good); chance if visor works as well once again.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 -14%) Mojo Ego |
16/1(-14%) | (3) Mojo Ego 16/1, Latest win in hurdle at Kelso in March. 14/1, first run since leaving Harry Derham when creditable fifth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Cartmel (17.2f, soft) 32 days ago. Respectable stable debut latest, but mark still looks plenty high despite being eased 2lb.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (14/1 -75%) Old Gregorian |
14/1(-75%) | (5) Old Gregorian 14/1, Made a successful debut over hurdles after 6 months off in 2m Kelso maiden a year ago, beating one who won his next 2 starts. More miss than hit subsequently but could well get back on track following a break. Never travelling on April's handicap debut (C&D, soft); unseen since and mark unchanged.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +14%) Cave Court |
6/1(+14%) | (1) Cave Court 6/1, Scored at Ballinrobe in July and shaped as if still in good order. Has C&D winning experience and shouldn't be ruled out. C&D winner on sole previous visit (good to soft); career-high mark to contend with.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BOWLING BUDDY took a pleasant step forward to justify short odds in style at Cartmel on his latest outing and the son of Ask now makes his handicap debut. Olly Murphy's charge has far from reached his ceiling yet and it would be no surprise to see him defy his opening mark of 110. Cuban Cigar had Ravenscraig Castle (third) behind when finishing second over track and trip earlier in the month and he is expected to confirm that form to prove the biggest threat to the selection.
BOWLING BUDDY opened his Rules account with plenty to spare at Cartmel last time and, for all that the handicapper has taken no chances with his opening mark, he's fancied to improve past these more exposed types on handicap debut. Cuban Cigar should be on the premises and Old Gregorian isn't without hope.
This looks a good opportunity for BOWLING BUDDY, a stiff initial mark notwithstanding. Recent C&D second Cuban Cigar is next best.

1st (4) (9/2 +55%) Hidden Depths |
9/2(+55%) | (4) Hidden Depths 9/2, Dual-purpose performer who displayed a nice turn of foot when landing 7-runner handicap at Worcester (23f) in July. Just a respectable effort from career-high mark back at that venue a month ago. Good winner at Worcester in July but held there since; up in grade today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +10%) Kinondo Kwetu |
3/1(+10%) | (1) Kinondo Kwetu 3/1, Snapped a run of poor form when landing a 5-runner handicap chase at Uttoxeter, despite making a number of mistakes. Belied market weakness when following up at Worcester and hard to knock his strike rate despite his quirks. Back in good form with two wins this summer and is still on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 -344%) Inis Oirr |
10/1(-344%) | (3) Inis Oirr 10/1, Much improved for a first-time visor and an increased stamina test when bolting up in the Edinburgh National at Musselburgh (4m, good to soft) in February. Ridden with more restraint and fell in the Scottish National 2 months later. Off since but can resume progress this term. Excelled when upped to 3m7f in Edinburgh National; drops back in trip after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -150%) Wasdell Dundalk |
10/1(-150%) | (5) Wasdell Dundalk 10/1, Racked up a C&D hat-trick around this time last year and kept on gamely when adding to his Perth haul 16 days ago, keeping on gamely. 3 lb rise fine but this is a deeper race. Completed C&D hat-trick in this race last year and was back in peak form here recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/2 +0%) Statuario |
5/2(+0%) | (2) Statuario 5/2, Enhanced excellent Perth record with another brace of small-field C&D wins in May/June. Cracking third at Market Rasen and he'll find this a lot easier than the Galway handicap he contested last month. Major claims. Dual C&D winner this spring before very creditable third in Summer Plate at Market Rasen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
KINONDO KWETU arrives here on a hat-trick after wins at Uttoxeter and most recently over 2m7f at Worcester, and he appears primed to add to his winning thread. The eight-years-old has been raised 3lb for that latest two-length success which doesn't appear likely to halt his progression. Fellow last-time-out winner Wasdell Dundalk scored over C&D earlier this month and another bold bid can be expected, while Inis Oirr is worthy of consideration if he can bounce back to form after falling in the Scottish National at Ayr in April.
A quintet to view positively with STATUARIO, a 4-time course winner, taken to enhance that record having contested a much deeper race in Ireland last time. Inis Oirr lacks a recent run but appeals as the type to raise his game again this term, with Kinondo Kwetu also of interest.
This might be fought out by the multiple course winners STATUARIO (nap) and Wasdell Dundalk. The Bowen runner gets the nod.

1st (1) (5/1 +23%) Indian Louis |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Indian Louis 5/1, Dual point winner who made a winning chase debut at Musselburgh (2½m, soft) on New Year's Day. Didn't really kick on thereafter, including over hurdles but wouldn't be a great surprise to see him bounce back reverting to larger obstacles after a break. Made all off this mark in January but needs to have been refreshed by four-month break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (17/2 +29%) Post No Bills |
17/2(+29%) | (4) Post No Bills 17/2, A three-time winner last season but yet to scale same heights this time around despite a steadily easing mark, left behind home turn when seventh of 10 in handicap chase at Market Rasen 39 days ago. Triple chase winner in 2023; not firing this year but has slipped to a dangerous mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (16/1 -100%) Jackhammer |
16/1(-100%) | (7) Jackhammer 16/1, Veteran Flat/hurdles winner who didn't progress in this sphere during 2023. Arrives fit from the Flat and he's now operating from career-low mark in this sphere. Not discounted with headgear discarded. Went close on the Flat last month but has very mixed record over the last year or so. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7/1 +50%) Coilrock |
7/1(+50%) | (9) Coilrock 7/1, Lightly raced 7-y-o who offered more than previously when runner-up over hurdles at Ludlow (23.8f) in May (heavily backed). Disappointed on 2 of his 3 starts since and only market support would make him of significant interest now chasing. 0-10 over hurdles but came second in May and has an Irish point win on her CV; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (12/1 -33%) Augharue |
12/1(-33%) | (6) Augharue 12/1, Came agonisingly close to breaking his duck from a tumbling mark at Sedgefield (17f, good) in May but he failed to scale same heights either start the following month. Absent since but fact he's gone well fresh previously a plus ahead of this. Went close at Sedgefield in May but soundly beaten twice in June; now 0-17 overall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (20/1 -167%) Blow The Budget |
20/1(-167%) | (3) Blow The Budget 20/1, Remains a maiden but produced best effort over hurdles (following wind op) when third at Market Rasen (20.6f) in May. Caught out by emphasis on speed when sixth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (20.4f) a month later but she's an interesting chase debutant in a race lacking depth. 0-7 over hurdles but was placed off this mark in May; now makes her chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (13/8 +7%) Thank You Blue |
13/8(+7%) | (2) Thank You Blue 13/8, A fair winner at 17f over hurdles and signs of late he can exploit his present mark over fences, making good late progress in to third at Worcester (20f) 2 weeks ago. One to consider with yard going along nicely. Kept on well for third at Worcester this month and drops significantly in grade here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) (8/1 -78%) Buck Of Maine |
8/1(-78%) | (8) Buck Of Maine 8/1, Maiden who showed first form over jumps (in first-time blinkers) when third at Stratford (19.5f) in July. Hasn't built on that in 2 starts subsequently (not convincing with his jumping) but it is still early days in this discipline at least. Placed off this mark in modest race in July but safely held twice since; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (33/1 -175%) Animore |
33/1(-175%) | (5) Animore 33/1, Capitalised on the drop to a career-low mark when scoring in an Ayr handicap hurdle in March 2023. Seemingly working her way back to full fitness in trio of chase tries since returning for new yard, fourth of 7 in handicap chase at Cartmel (21.2f) 32 days ago. Mark has eased further. Recent Cartmel fourth was a step back in the right direction; Brian Hughes booked again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This represents a good opportunity for THANK YOU BLUE to get off the mark over the larger obstacles at the fifth time of asking. Jennie Candlish's runner ran on well for third over 2m4f at Worcester earlier this month and, with a more enterprising ride, he could be a tough nut to crack. Blow The Budget was beaten just two lengths off this mark over the extended 2m4f at Market Rasen on her penultimate start in May and a repeat of that form would see her in the shake-up, while a return to form for Indian Louis would see him on the scene.
Hurdles-scorer THANK YOU BLUE brings the most compelling recent chase form to the table when third at Worcester 2 weeks ago and he looks the way to go down in class with his yard amongst the winners. Most have a little something to prove, so returning pair Augharue and Indian Louis may pose chief resistance.
Placed in a much stronger race than this at Worcester a fortnight ago, THANK YOU BLUE can open his chasing account here.

1st (9) (4/1 -45%) Happy Index |
4/1(-45%) | (9) Happy Index 4/1, Shaped encouragingly on first since leaving Paul Webber when second in 9-runner handicap (evens) at Fontwell (21.8f, good) 17 days ago, clear of rest. Cheekpieces back on and one to be interested in. Clear second on recent stable debut; could still have more to offer for new trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 +61%) Superbolt |
11/4(+61%) | (1) Superbolt 11/4, Showed some minor promise over hurdles in Ireland initially. Not so good in the spring but has joined a yard that has been going well lately and looks interesting, particularly if supported in the betting. 0-5 over hurdles but moves up in trip for this stable debut and is a possible improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 +44%) Bridge Road |
9/1(+44%) | (4) Bridge Road 9/1, Continues to fall in the weights without showing any sign of taking advantage, finishing only ninth of 13 in 23f handicap at Worcester (23f, good) 14 days ago. Well handicapped on old form but well below that level since returning from long layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (5/1 +33%) Iolani |
5/1(+33%) | (10) Iolani 5/1, Veteran who scored at Cartmel in May and returned to a similar level when second of 14 in handicap at Kelso (18.1f, good) last week, clear of rest. Good claims if backing that up. Went down fighting when clear second at Kelso last week and competes off same mark again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (14/1 +13%) Diamond State |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Diamond State 14/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022 and ran one of this season's lesser races when ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle (16/1) at this course (23.9f, good) 39 days ago. Others more persuasive. Placed here twice this season (2m4f/3m) but is not the force of old; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (15/2 -7%) Turkey And Ham |
15/2(-7%) | (5) Turkey And Ham 15/2, Gambled on and went through the race as if ahead of her mark when fourth in 15-runner handicap at Kilbeggan (24.4f, good to soft, 9/4) 19 days ago. Must enter calculations back down in trip. 0-8 over hurdles but ran big race when third on latest British raid in June; considered. |

7th (8) (100/1 -100%) Swift Reply |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Swift Reply 100/1, Faced a stiff task from out of the handicap when last of 15 in handicap hurdle at Kelso (22.7f, good, 200/1) on final outing in May. 50-1 second at Sedgefield in January but well beaten twice since; too risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (11/1 -100%) Zuul |
11/1(-100%) | (6) Zuul 11/1, 5/1, again shaped well when second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (20.6f, good to firm) 96 days ago, running on. Hood back on and merits consideration. Placed twice over 2m4f at Market Rasen in June and may yet have a bigger run in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (33/1 +0%) Mistertommyshelby |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Mistertommyshelby 33/1, Poor maiden hurdler/chaser at best with little recent form. Unplaced all 16 starts and difficult to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (12/1 -200%) Pateen |
12/1(-200%) | (2) Pateen 12/1, Isn't the easiest to predict but brushed off a few-below par efforts to claim his second win of the season in 10-runner C&D handicap 16 days ago, kept up to work. Nudged up 5 lb. Veteran; scored over C&D this month but 5lb rise might be enough to leave him vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (14/1 -100%) Prince Nino |
14/1(-100%) | (7) Prince Nino 14/1, C&D winner who offered a lot more than previously this season when 5¼ lengths third of 10 to Pateen in C&D handicap (good to soft) 16 days ago. Possibilities if building on that. Dual C&D winner; arrested decline with battling third here this month; still on good mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having returned to form with a solid third over track and trip earlier this month, dual C&D winner Prince Nino warrants consideration racing off an unchanged mark. Reopposing rival Pateen landed the spoils on that occasion and, although the veteran hasn't always proved the most consistent in the past, he cannot be dismissed off a 5lb higher rating. However, it could be worth taking a punt on Irish raider TURKEY AND HAM, who arrives on the back of creditable defeats at Uttoxeter and Kilbeggan, and this return to 2m4f may prove fruitful.
SUPERBOLT is a lightly-raced sort who showed some promise over hurdles in Ireland last winter and looks interesting now setting out for an in-form yard, especially if the betting speaks in his favour. Happy Index shaped encouragingly on her stable debut at Fontwell earlier in the month and is an obvious threat, with Turkey And Ham also of firm interest dropping back in trip having gone through the race like one ahead of her mark on her most recent outing at Kilbeggan.
Another chance is given to HAPPY INDEX, who could not justify strong market support on her recent stable debut but was a clear second.

1st (4) (7/4 +73%) Limerick Leader |
7/4(+73%) | (4) Limerick Leader 7/4, Fair handicap hurdler at best but mixed form over fences for Rose Dobbin last season. Having had a wind op, disappointing on stable debut in July, but back hurdling he ran better when fourth at Worcester (20f) last time. Interesting with cheekpieces reapplied. Just a respectable fourth at Worcester this month but may yet come good for new stable. |

2nd (1) (11/2 +27%) Dalileo |
11/2(+27%) | (1) Dalileo 11/2, Winner here (23.9f) in June and has run well in 4 visits to this course since, pulling clear of the remainder when third of 10 on his latest outing 16 days ago. Could be in the mix once more back down in trip. Has remained in good form since 3m course win in June; considered each-way. |

6/1(+45%) | (8) Blended Stealth 6/1, Long-standing maiden but made the frame on his first 3 starts of the campaign, going close when runner-up at this course (23.9f) in July. However, below-par effort when sixth of 10 back here 16 days ago. Visor reapplied back down in trip. Placed twice this summer (3m/3m1f) but below form here recently and now 0-25 over hurdles. |

4th (7) (11/1 -230%) Lenebane |
11/1(-230%) | (7) Lenebane 11/1, Remains a maiden, but with a visor refitted she's fared better from her reduced mark on her last 2 starts, finding only a next-time-out winner too strong at Market Rasen (20.6f) in July. Can give her running once more. 0-16 over hurdles but twice came second at Market Rasen in refitted visor this summer. |

5th (2) (16/1 -45%) Ithaka |
16/1(-45%) | (2) Ithaka 16/1, Justified strong support in a Wincanton handicap (21.4f) in March last year but largely well below that level last season. Well held at Ffos Las (23.9f) when last seen in May, though he's eased further in the weights as a result. Mostly well beaten since landing a gamble in March 2023; still worth glance in betting. |

|PU| (5) (7/2 -56%) Inspector Lynley |
7/2(-56%) | (5) Inspector Lynley 7/2, Has returned in good heart this season, placed on his first 2 starts before justifying favouritism when getting off the mark in novice handicap at Stratford (22f) in July. Can give another good account. Dug deep to open account at Stratford in July; further progress is possible. |

|PU| (3) (12/1 -167%) One Step Up |
12/1(-167%) | (3) One Step Up 12/1, Didn't make much impact for Nicky Richards, but left his stable debut effort behind when runner-up in novice handicap at this course (16.2f) in June. Task is now to back up his latest run returned to this longer trip after a break. Well beaten over C&D on stable debut in April but subsequent 2m second was much better. |

|PU| (6) (20/1 +0%) Emily Wade |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Emily Wade 20/1, With a tongue tie added, capitalised on her falling mark when scoring in good style at Southwell (20.4f) in June. Well below form all 3 starts since, but she remains well treated on old form if bouncing back returned to this shorter trip. Ready winner at Southwell in June but form has slumped since. |

|PU| (10) (25/1 +50%) Don't Look Back |
25/1(+50%) | (10) Don't Look Back 25/1, Fair handicapper on the Flat but no better than poor form over hurdles for current yard, off the pace when hampered and unseating at the fifth at this C&D 16 days ago. Looks to be up against it. Didn't run badly at Cartmel last month but needs to find improvement from somewhere. |

|PU| (9) (50/1 -150%) Princess Unique |
50/1(-150%) | (9) Princess Unique 50/1, First form over hurdles when fourth of 9 in handicap at Market Rasen (20.6f) in July. Failed to repeat that effort, though, when pulled up at Worcester (23f) the following month. Others more persuasive. Still unexposed after only six hurdle runs but needs to learn to settle better. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although Ithaka has largely been out of form in eight outings since landing a gamble at Wincanton in March 2023, the eight-year-old is worth watching in the market on this long journey north. Regardless, LENEBANE has filled the runner-up spot on her last two appearances at Market Rasen and a 3lb higher rating may not be enough to prevent Rebecca Menzies' mare from going one better here. Inspector Lynley and One Step Up are other key contenders.
Reverted to hurdling, LIMERICK LEADER fared much better than on his stable debut when fourth at Worcester at the beginning of the month and he could be ready to take advantage of his reduced mark. He can get the better of the consistent Dalileo, while Inspector Lynley is also considered in his current form.
The suggestion is ONE STEP UP, who left his disappointing stable debut a long way behind when second over 2m here in June.
Ths is the racecard key.
