6/4(-25%) | (2) Mongibello 6/4, Ran to form second beaten 3l in a Mares hurdle over 2m at Limerick latest; longer trip may help; steadily progressive; sets form standard; go close C&D winner who brings the best form and she's very hard to knock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Visual Impact |
15/2(+0%) | (7) Visual Impact 15/2, Bit too much to do second beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Bangor-on-Dee latest; steadily progressive; down in trip; outside chance May lack the pace of the pick of today's opposition and has a bit to find on the figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Magic Mccolgan |

250/1(-279%) | (4) Blakeley Rise 250/1, Below par comfortably held in a Mares bumper over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time; usually consistent; up in trip; all to do Insufficient promise in her three bumpers to believe she'll trouble the best of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) ![]() Anny Mcphee |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Anny Mcphee 250/1, Well beaten in a Mares bumper over 2m1f at Musselburgh latest; up in trip; all to do Tailed off in both her bumpers, beating nothing home on either occasion. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
7lb separates MONGIBELLO and Magic McColgan on official ratings and although the former has been a little disappointing on her last two starts, the Authorized mare can bounce back at the scene of her sole hurdling triumph to date. That is by no means to dismiss the chances of Willie Mullins' charge, but a bit more will be needed to come out on top. Visual Impact has a bit to find with the two principals, but she ought to be thereabouts in receipt of 7lb.
The penalised mares can dominate. MONGIBELLO has achieved that bit more than Magic McColgan and she's a C&D winner to boot.

6/4(+33%) | (1) Kapal Layar 6/4, Yard won this last year; ideally suited by trip when won a maiden hurdle at Chepstow over 2m3f by 2 1/2l last time; previous handicap form franked; stable first string; should show some improvement Bumped into one on handicap debut and then went on to win his maiden; progressing. |

2nd (4) ![]() King Roly |
10/1(+38%) | (4) King Roly 10/1, Appeared not to stay well beaten in a novice hurdle over 3m1f at Wexford latest; tongue-tie first time; down in trip; yet to build on debut win; risky He shouldn't be badly handicapped when getting back on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() The Sainted Canary |
10/3(+33%) | (3) The Sainted Canary 10/3, Ideally suited by trip second beaten 2l in a novice hurdle at Wincanton latest; bled and eased off that day; opening mark lenient; strong claims Second to a class act last time at Wincanton and an interesting handicap debutant. |

4th (6) ![]() Wolfspear |
16/1(-45%) | (6) Wolfspear 16/1, Yard won this last year; travelled well 2 1/4l third in a selling hurdle at Wetherby most recent run; inconsistent; well treated back in a handicap; no forlorn stable second string Hasn't had much racing for a 9yo but he was beaten in a seller last time; others preferred. |

20/1(-43%) | (5) Langdale Lane 20/1, Looked unenthusiastic comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Cartmel last time; in good form prior; absent for very lengthy period; needs to prove ability remains Has the form to feature and market informative following a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) ![]() Findthetime |
50/1(-127%) | (9) Findthetime 50/1, Something amiss comfortably held in a handicap chase over 1m7f at Wetherby last time; generally out of form over fences; up in trip; bit to find Has won over fences/hurdles but hasn't been running well over the larger obstacles of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Koukeo |
11/2(-57%) | (7) Koukeo 11/2, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by a length off 105 over 2m6f at Exeter last time where got first run on closers; threat Reportedly appreciated the drier ground (good) when a workmanlike winner at Exeter. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KAPAL LAYAR bumped into the progressive My Friend Sean at Uttoxeter in January before opening his account in comfortable fashion the following month. That reads well in the context of this race and there is certain to be more in the locker. Returning to quicker ground suited Exeter scorer Koukeo last time and he is respected, along with the Jeremy Scott-trained The Sainted Canary.
After giving the classy Regent's Stroll a bit of a race last time, THE SAINTED CANARY has to be of interest off this mark.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) ![]() I Wish You |
10/1(+0%) | (3) I Wish You 10/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ayr last time; not proven trip; off a short-break; bit to find and stamina concerns No closer than about 11l in his three handicaps and conditions are a grey area. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() The Jeweller's Pet |
8/1(0%) | (8) The Jeweller's Pet 8/1, Suited by the testing ground when scored by 2l off 96 at Ayr three starts back; third beaten 3/4l off 103 last time; probably bit to come Improving 6yo who was close up when third at Ayr two weeks ago; should be involved. |

|PU| (1) ![]() Gua Du Large |
100/1(-100%) | (1) Gua Du Large 100/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Ayr last time; generally out of form; usually held up; not proven trip; bit to find Won races in Ireland but not overly competitive in four chases for current yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Hara Kiri completed his hat-trick at Leicester in December and given his versatility regarding ground, he merits the utmost respect ahead of his return from a break. However, preference is afforded to AILT AN CHORRAIN, who made it two from four over hurdles when on target in a novice at Newcastle last month. His current mark of 112 looks well within range and should conditions quicken, he will not need to prove himself. Savant Du Mesnil completes the shortlist.
Although he failed to justify market support at Ayr, BARATABLET (nap) still showed improved form behind respected opposition.

15/2(-50%) | (7) Siberian Star 15/2, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Wexford most recent; up in trip; better ground a plus; stiff track may suit; leading claims Handicapped about right but should be on the premises now back over a better trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LADY IN THE PARK appeared to find an extended 2m3f distance on the sharp side when finishing fourth over hurdles at Wetherby in February. Lucinda Russell's mare makes plenty of appeal reverting to chasing in first-time blinkers and a first victory over fences could be on the cards. Peter & Michael Bowen-trained runners always warrant respect at this venue and their representative Siberian Star is feared most, ahead of Pitwood Road.
A chance is taken on LADY IN THE PARK who is back over a better trip for this return to fences.

25/1(-127%) | (1) Della Casa Lunga 25/1, Benefited from positive ride landing a Mares' Handicap Hurdle by 1 1/4l off 134 over 3m1f at Kempton penultimate start; down in trip; bit to find and may need further No show in a Doncaster Grade 2 last time; form is more convincing racing right handed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A change of scenery worked just the trick for HIDDEN HISTORY when making a winning stable bow at Uttoxeter last month. An 7lb higher mark is unlikely the ceiling of the seven-year-old's ability and he's fancied to enhance Dan Skelton's bid for the trainer's championship. An improved bid is forecast from Della Casa Lunga reverting to a right-handed track and handicap company. The Champs Elysees' mare may serve the most resistance to the selection, while last year's winner of this contest Rambo T is the pick of the remainder.
Hidden History is a massive danger but FLORIDA DREAMS is a classy operator who ran perfectly well behind a runaway winner at Ayr.

6th (7) ![]() Walk On Quest |
11/2(-57%) | (7) Walk On Quest 11/2, Ideally suited by trip when scored by 3l off 120 over 2m6f at Kelso penultimate start; pulled up in a handicap chase latest where went too fast; down in trip; bit to find Won his first four chases and simply failed to give his true running at Uttoxeter. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
Heltenham did little wrong when finishing second at Newton Abbot five days ago and he must enter the reckoning racing off an unchanged mark. However, those exertions may have left their mark on the eight-year-old, which could see TOMMY'S OSCAR capitalising. Ann Hamilton's veteran arrives on the back of a good third in a premier handicap at Ayr and, if seeing out today's 2m4f distance, compensation could be on the cards. Doctor Ken and Dubai Days add further spice to the mix.
Doctor Ken and Heltenham are feared but TOMMY'S OSCAR could be interesting over this longer trip.

50/1(-79%) | (13) Vocal Duke 50/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby last time; generally out of form; returning from a break; reduced mark not enough to recommend Below-form sixth at Wetherby on Boxing Day; has gone well fresh though so no forlorn hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (1) ![]() Champagne Chic |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Champagne Chic 25/1, Looked unenthusiastic fourth beaten 36l in a novice hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell latest; off a short-break; may find ground on the quick side Last of 4 at Fontwell in February; could be worth another chance now h'capping after break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Bashful has solid claims based on his progressive profile over hurdles, while Simple Star was a winner over C&D on his latest start in this discipline and is another strong contender. However, the vote goes to fellow last-time-out winner KLITSCHKO, who scored in a relatively cosy manner under Brian Hughes at Sedgefield and a 5lb higher rating might not be enough to prevent the retained partnership from following up. Highlands Legacy and Maple are other each-way options.
This could go the way of HERE COMES GEORGIE, who wasn't seen to ideal effect at Kelso and could garner a fifth win of the term.

TRAILBLAZER was the comfortable winner of a similar race at Sedgefield 13 days ago and assuming this doesn't come around too quickly, a 6lb higher rating looks very manageable in this company. Heart Above has been reliable of late and is another attractive proposition on these terms. Gemini Man, Platin Moon and Brindley are all still of low mileage and all merit betting checks given their scope for further progression.
Dianne Sayer's HEART ABOVE is taken to resume winning ways on the back of a very good Musselburgh second and bag a third win of the term
Ths is the racecard key.
