14:10 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY finished a close-up third over 6f at Kempton on his latest outing and has been given a rating of 80 after that display. If the son of Starspangledbanner can settle better down in trip with William Buick booked, he could be the one to beat. Duran outran his big odds to reach the frame on his return from a year off the track over 6f here last time and he has to be respected with the likelihood of more to come, while any market confidence behind newcomer Felicity would also be interesting.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY has come close in both outings for his new yard and can deservedly open his account. Fahrenheit Seven look the likeliest danger on form whilst market strength behind newcomer Felicity could prove significant.

Newcomer Felicity is respected, but the vote goes to GENERAL ASSEMBLY whose latest Kempton third has worked out so well.

14:40 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A rating of 90 may overestimate Native Warrior's ability after his below-par fourth at Kempton on his return to the fray last month, so he can be taken on with FIELD OF PLENTY. The son of Inns Of Court changed hands for 105,000gns and is a half-brother to Glounthaune, who struck at Group 3 level, so he could make an impression on his debut. Far Lane is another newcomer that needs to be monitored in the betting.

FAR LANE ticks plenty of the right boxes on paper and confidence behind this Cracksman colt in the betting would look highly significant. He is taken to make a winning start to his career, perhaps at the chief expense of Fayqa, who showed clear promise despite landing a meaningful blow on her introduction at Ascot. Native Warrior is a strong candidate but there's an air of vulnerability about him. Field of Plenty is another newcomer to note in the betting.

This can go to NATIVE WARRIOR who sets a fair standard, including when fourth behind Notable Speech at Kempton last month.

15:10 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MUTAAWID makes plenty of appeal on his pedigree as a full-brother to Group 1 winner Mostahdaf and it would be no surprise to see him make an impact on his debut for the John and Thady Gosden team. The main danger might be Battle Queen, who brings solid form to the table after filling the runner-up spot at Southwell last month and she should go well, while Zoffandia would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour.

MUTAWID hails from an excellent family so this son of Frankel is taken to go in at the first time of asking for the in-form Gosden team. Battle Queen rates much the pick of those with experience and is a major threat with debutant Zoffandia another highly respected, epecially if the market vibes are positive.

This can go to the newcomer MUTAAWID, a brother to the stable's high-class Mostahdaf and a half-brother to another Group 1 winner.

15:40 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A game winner of a maiden at Goodwood 17 days ago, WORRALS created the impression she has a bright future and can flourish now she steps into handicap company from a highly workable mark. Charming Whisper and Beauty Generation are couple of other promising types to consider, but Alvesta makes her handicap bow from a tempting rating and may be the one to give the selection most to think about here.

WORRALS is from a good family and this opening mark looks reasonable judged on her recent success in a Goodwood maiden. She is the most appealing candidate, with Great Chieftain nominated as the main danger and the likes of Beauty Generation, Phoenix Duchess and Yaajooz are others to consider from an each-way perspective.

There can be optimism that the attractively bred LIVEANDLETLIVE remains capable of better and he had an excuse on his handicap debut.

16:10 Nottingham Handicap (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Super Superjack has won over 2m when fresh in the past and is an intriguing option on debut for a new yard. However, the 654-day absence is a concern and there is too much guesswork involved to put the seven-year-old forward as a confident selection. With that in mind, FOX VISION shades preference as a potential improver and, reunited with in-form Oisin Murphy, the son of New Approach can strike on just his second start over this trip. Trooper Bisdee and Seal Of Solomon can fight it out for the minor honours.

Sir Mark Prescott's TROOPER BISDEE enjoyed a fine 2023 and is fancied to return in style given he has a good record when fresh. Tenerife Sunshine didn't enjoy the rub of the greeen when fifth at Southwell last time out and is next on the list, with Fox Vision, Sarsons Risk and Seal Of Solomon also in the picture.

The vote goes to VALLEY OF FLOWERS who enjoyed a productive time of it last year and has proved that she can go well fresh

16:40 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Switching to racing on turf can unlock further improvement from REYAADAH STAR, who broke her maiden with an emphatic seven-length success at Kempton at the start of this month. The daughter of New Approach could easily be underestimated from an opening mark of just 72 and has to be of high interest. Elladonna is notable now she is tried with a hood added for stepping back up in distance, while Invisible Friend is another taken seriously.

It's likely we haven't seen the best of CARPATHIAN, who found improvement when third on handicap debut at Kempton earlier this month. She can get off the mark. Reyaadah Star and Elladonna are feared most.

The unexposed XIOMARA may have more scope than these on her turf debut. Reyaadah Star has been progressing on AW.

17:10 Nottingham Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NIIGATA overcame inexperience to make a winning start to his career over this trip at Chelmsford earlier in the month and the manner of that victory suggested there might be a fair amount of improvement to come. Las Ramblas boasts a smart pedigree, being a half-brother to three-time Group 1 heroine Legatissimo, and lived up to it when getting up close home over 1m on debut at Newcastle in February. He commands plenty of respect, along with newcomer French Mistress and Anglepoise.

LAS RAMBLAS makes loads of appeal on paper and justified good support to make a winning debut at Newcastle in February, coming from further back to run down one boasting previous experience. Very much the type to improve, including now tackling this longer trip, he earns the vote on turf debut. Fellow debut winner Niigata for the Crisford yard is another to consider. Newcomer Leicester Square is worth keeping an eye on, with Anglepoise also expected to do better again.

Two of these won their only previous starts and NIIGATA is preferred to Las Ramblas as his success came over this trip.

17:45 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PATRONAGE saw out the trip fine when runner-up at Beverley on his first try at 1m2f and that form has since been franked by the winner following up under a 6lb penalty. The son of Masar makes plenty of appeal with the handicapper leaving him on the same mark and the addition of cheekpieces further enhances his credentials. Givitawhirl is bred to be a good deal better than a mark of 58, coming from the family of Poet's Word and Malabar, and stepping up in trip is likely to be a positive. Others to note include Emerald City and Eccentric.

ECCENTRIC disappointed in cheekpieces at Kempton last time but he was progressive on the AW prior to that so is worth another chance off this sort of mark switched to turf. The dangers are headed by Wannabeawallaby and Daring Leader, who are potential improvers now handicapping.

Many may improve now they are handicapped but PATRONAGE (nap) has already won and can go in again. Penalty Shootout can grab second.
