16:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Skye Breeze justified favouritism on his return to the all-weather at Southwell last month following a run on turf at Catterick in October. However, a 6lb rise for that success may leave him vulnerable for win purposes on this occasion and the vote goes to BERAZ. Stepping back up in trip appears to be the right move based on his fourth here on New Year's Day, while others to consider include Queen Of Ipanema and Valsad.

QUEEN OF IPANEMA had a few of these rivals in behind her when scoring over 11f at Southwell last month. Geroge Boughey's filly wasn't seen to best effect in a race which tested speed at Wolverhampton last Saturday and is taken to resume winning ways now stepping back up to 1½m (3-3 at trip coming into this). Beraz, Aqwaam and Tenerife Sunshine head the dangers in a competitive opener.

This can go to BERAZ (nap) whose third in the November Handicap was even better than it looked. His latest fourth was another fine run.

17:05 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

EXPLORERS WAY returned to winning ways over C&D on his latest start and a 2lb rise is unlikely to stop him from doubling up in what appears to be a more than winnable contest on paper. Gold Aura boasts a consistent level of form and is likely to be in the mix on her return to handicap company, with Rise Hall appealing most of the remainder.

EXPLORERS WAY gained his first success in excess of 1m when scoring over C&D last month and Brian Ellison's gelding looks capable of following up after a minimal rise in the weights. Masterpainter made the pdoium over 1m here last time and can go well again, with Gold Aura also worth a market check returning to handicap company.

Preference is for MASTERPAINTER whose pedigree suggests he is well worth another go over a longer trip.

17:35 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ROYAL PROSPECT won a classified event over C&D on his penultimate start before running with plenty of credit back in a handicap here when only beaten a length into second. Despite being 4lb higher, the nine-year-old is taken to continue in this vein of form. Beylerbeyi went close here on his most recent start and has to enter the reckoning along with Tees George.

BEYLERBEYI is unexposed for his current yard and the form of his latest C&D second is working out very well, so he's worth chancing to go one better at the possible expense of last-time-out winner Tees George, Royal Prospect and Spartan Fighter are also worth considering.

Both BEYLERBEYI and Royal Prospect chased home triple subsequent winners on their last starts. The former races off the same mark.

18:05 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HARVANNA should appreciate this drop in trip after weakening late on over 6f here last month and, off 1lb lower, Karl Burke's speedster rates as the one to side with. Torvar fairly bolted up over 5f at Chelmsford most recently, but he finds himself on a career-high mark and that asks a question of him, while Balon D'or's official rating continues to fall and he's another to keep an eye on.

A trappy sprint in which preference is for HARVANNA, who was progressive in a handful of starts on turf last year and shaped very well on return/handicap debut when fourth here over 6f on New Year's Day. She can get the better of Torvar, who ran out an impressive winner at Chelmsford last month, with Bint Alfella rounding off the shortlist now heading down the handicap route.

This can go to HARVANNA who only faded late on when returning from 173 days off in a Class 2 handicap over 6f here last month.

18:35 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LIKEASHADOW finished an agonisingly close second over 7f at this track last month and, having been nudged up just 1lb, he can make his presence felt over the mile this time around. The class-dropping Good Morning Alex rates as the main danger to the selection having finished an admirable third here latest, while this drop back to a mile promises to suit Due Consideration, who was caught late on over 1m2f here in September.

NIGHT SAFARI has been gelded since last seen and he's bred to be better than a mark of 65, so he's worth taking a chance on against mostly more exposed rivals. Likeashadow arrives in top form, so he's an obvious danger, while Good Morning Alex can't be dismissed.

The vote goes to GOOD MORNING ALEX who got outpaced in his hat-trck bid here last time, but this may be run more to suit him.

19:05 Newcastle Maiden (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Angelica Catalani arguably sets the standard on her latest C&D fifth, but the daughter of Mondialiste could prove vulnerable to one of the debutants. MEMORIES MAKER, a half-brother to Group 3 winner Class Is Class, tops the bill. Charlie Johnston's gelding ticks plenty of the right boxes and he could have too much class for these rivals. Any market support for fellow newcomer More Than A Feelin would be interesting.

This may go to one of the newcomers and MEMORIES MAKER is much respected on his racecourse bow. Strive can also make his presence felt.

This can go to one of the newcomers in the shape of MEMORIES MAKER. The stable has done well with its debutants in the last few weeks.

19:35 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Water Of Leith made the most of a career-low mark when scything through the field to score at Southwell in December. However, a 5lb rise in the handicap may leave Jim Goldie's charge vulnerable, with November C&D winner CRYPTO QUEST edging the vote. The son of Profitable is only 1lb higher in the ratings and is taken to make his stable bow a winning one. Sixcor should also get involved if breaking better.

C&D winner URBAN DANDY has dropped to a handy mark and was unlucky not to finish much closer here last week. He gets the nod in the finale. Water of Leith and Latin Five also enter calculations.

The vote goes to WATER OF LEITH who returned to winning form at Southwell last time. He may again get the solid pace he needs.
