1st (10) (12/1 -50%) Mabre |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Mabre 12/1, Latest win at Lingfield in March. Well backed but seemed amiss on return to turf at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy) just over 5 weeks ago and has good chance on form if none the worse. Modest effort returned to turf last time and wouldn't want the ground to dry out too much. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (9/1 +44%) Greg The Great |
9/1(+44%) | (12) Greg The Great 9/1, Won 3 times last year (twice at Chepstow) and shaped as if better for the run after 6 months off at Kempton (8f) just over a fortnight ago. Has dropped to his last winning mark but will need to take a big step forward. Back off a fair mark and would have needed recent return; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/1 -38%) Trais Fluors |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Trais Fluors 11/1, One win from 32 Flat runs and ran poorly after 6 months off at Brighton (7f, good, 3/1) earlier this month. First-time cheekpieces need to spark a revival. Successful in just one of his last 36 starts and makes little appeal; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (11/1 +39%) Le Reveur |
11/1(+39%) | (9) Le Reveur 11/1, Now 6 lb below the mark off which he gained his latest success at Doncaster last June, but subsequent efforts merely underline his inconsistency and he will need to hit the ground running returning from 6 months off. Off seven months, but has gone well fresh and 6lb below last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (8/1 -7%) Rival |
8/1(-7%) | (6) Rival 8/1, Ran creditably when third on return at Windsor (8.1f, heavy) last month and took a small step forward when filling that same position at Bath (8f, soft) 8 days ago. Headgear tried for just a second time but probably needs more help from the assessor. Has run well to finish third in both starts since returning; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (100/1 -100%) Runner Bean |
100/1(-100%) | (13) Runner Bean 100/1, Excuses at Kempton last time (clipped heels and stumbled after 2f) but trip a big question mark and this his first outing on turf. Unplaced in seven starts on the AW; 2lb wrong on turf debut and plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (11/1 -144%) Sandy Paradise |
11/1(-144%) | (3) Sandy Paradise 11/1, All 3 wins have been on the all-weather and he again ran well when finishing runner-up at Kempton (8f) just over a fortnight ago, edged out final 50 yds. Shouldn't be long in going one better. 3-14 on AW but 0-7 on grass; best turf form on good to firm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (3.5/1 +50%) Lenny's Spirit |
3.5/1(+50%) | (8) Lenny's Spirit 3.5/1, Won 3 times last year and, after 5 months off, not discredited when fifth at Lingfield (1m, AW) last month. Wasn't seen to best effect back up in trip at Chelmsford just over a fortnight ago but needs considering back on turf in this larger-field scenario. In good form on turf last summer and looks on a fair mark now back on grass. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (6.5/1 -8%) Flag Of Truth |
6.5/1(-8%) | (1) Flag Of Truth 6.5/1, Well supported and ran his best race with first-time cheekpieces applied when runner-up in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 10 days ago, headed final 1f but sticking to his task. Blinkers the headgear of choice on this occasion. 0-5, but only just beaten on the AW last time and shortlisted; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (16/1 +43%) Painless Potter |
16/1(+43%) | (7) Painless Potter 16/1, Sole success came at Chepstow (1m) in August but both outings this year have offered little encouragement. Mark continues to slide but others preferred. Held since winning a Chepstow novice last August; hard to enthuse over; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (3.33/1 +63%) Newton Jack |
3.33/1(+63%) | (11) Newton Jack 3.33/1, Made a winning return at Windsor last season and reappears from a mark 8 lb lower. Certainly not out of things. 8lb lower than when making a winning reappearance last season; worth a second look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (28/1 -27%) Taravara |
28/1(-27%) | (4) Taravara 28/1, Sole win from 22 Flat runs came at Southwell in December. However, he seems to be in a lull for now and hopes pinned on reapplied headgear doing the trick. 1-22, but 2lb below his winning mark and has gone close a couple of times on turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It might have been a while since TRAIS FLUORS' last success, but that's reflected in his sliding handicap mark. Better was clearly expected at Brighton 17 days ago, having been sent off as favourite, but first-time cheekpieces may sharpen him up and a further 2lb drop in the ratings ought to further aid his chances. The unexposed Flag Of Truth merits consideration, while Rival continues to run well in defeat and he might not be far away either.
A tricky start to proceedings with the tentative vote going to LENNY'S SPIRIT, who wasn't seen to best effect at Chelmsford just over a fortnight ago and Ed Dunlop's charge is fancied to regain the winning thread with this larger-field scenario likely to be in his favour. Second choice is Sandy Paradise, who has hit the crossbar on his last couple of starts and may have to settle for silver once again, with Mabre and Flag of Truth rounding off the shortlist.
This can go to RIVAL (nap) who has run well in both starts since returning last month, including in a much stronger contest last time.

Arthur's Realm |
(5) (25/1 -39%)25/1(-39%) | (5) Arthur's Realm 25/1, Failed to build on his reappearance run when only seventh at Doncaster (1m, heavy) in April (had won the same race in 2022). Again below form at Newmarket a fortnight ago, so needs to get back on track returned to this trip with cheekpieces now applied. Not seen often over this far these days and all three wins over 1m; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (12) (2.75/1 +45%) Mustazeed |
2.75/1(+45%) | (12) Mustazeed 2.75/1, Previously trained by Chris Wall, made a winning start for his new yard after 6 months off when landing 15-runner handicap at this C&D (heavy) last month by ¾ length from Time Interval, cosily. Not taken lightly. Had four of these behind when making a successful stable debut over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (19) (10/1 +17%) Sweet Reward |
10/1(+17%) | (19) Sweet Reward 10/1, Failed to add to his tally in 2022 but posted several creditable efforts in defeat. However, went backwards from his reappearance when well held at Goodwood (9.9f, heavy) 13 days ago, so he has a bit to prove at present. Well handicapped, but behind a few of these since returning last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (40/1 -60%) Andaleep |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Andaleep 40/1, Made a winning stable debut in June last year and went on to enjoy a very productive campaign, scoring four more times with his latest success at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) in October. However, found it tougher under a penalty at the same C&D when last seen 7 months ago 5-11 since joining this yard last summer; may come on for this first start in seven months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (20) (33/1 -106%) Solanna |
33/1(-106%) | (20) Solanna 33/1, Returned to winning ways in handicap at Kempton in January and has been going the right way since, recording back-to-back victories at Yarmouth and Lingfield (both at 1m2f) this month. Carries a penalty up in grade. Bids for a hat-trick off a 7lb higher mark; needs more to be competitive at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (12/1 -33%) Sun King |
12/1(-33%) | (1) Sun King 12/1, A winner for Aidan O'Brien last April, ran up to best on debut for this stable when fifth in handicap at Kempton (1m) in January. After 4 months off, did too much too soon when fourth at Pontefract (1m2f, good to soft) last time, but should still be suited by this trip. Ex-Aidan O'Brien; down in grade but this looks a tough task off top weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (11/1 +31%) Wisper |
11/1(+31%) | (2) Wisper 11/1, Landed four handicaps in 2022 and returned better than ever after 7 months off when also when winning at Brighton (9.9f, good) 17 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Can give another good account. Won six of her last 12 starts, but she does seem to prefer a sharp downhill track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (9/1 +36%) Storm Catcher |
9/1(+36%) | (6) Storm Catcher 9/1, Completed a hat-trick at Chelmsford (all at 1m2f) when successful there in February. After 9 weeks off, put up a good effort in his bid for the four-timer when fourth at Lingfield, finishing well having been drawn widest. Task is now to transfer that form over to turf. In good form on the AW during the winter, but has to prove he can do it back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (18/1 -29%) Wind Your Neck In |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Wind Your Neck In 18/1, Struggled in only three starts last year but, after a 9-month absence, back on track when runner-up in handicap at Bath (1m, soft) at the beginning of this month, despite needing a stiffer test. One to consider back up in trip. Poor last year but much better on recent reappearance; worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (16) (40/1 -60%) Youthful King |
40/1(-60%) | (16) Youthful King 40/1, Gained a first victory of 2022 when winning handicap at Windsor last June before following up at Sandown 12 days later. Made a bold bid for his hat-trick when third at Goodwood, but run of good form halted when last at this C&D (good) in August. Off 9 months since (gelded). Still 6lb above last winning mark and may need this first start in nine months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (17) (33/1 -65%) Pledge Of Honour |
33/1(-65%) | (17) Pledge Of Honour 33/1, Won handicap at this C&D back in 2020 and returned to that level last year, enjoying a run of 4 wins in 6 starts. Lost little in defeat when fourth behind Andaleep at Sandown (1m2f, good) in August, but needs to pick up where he left off following a 9-month absence. 4-8 on turf last year, but likely he will be better for this first start in nine months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (28/1 -133%) Fast Steps |
28/1(-133%) | (11) Fast Steps 28/1, Enjoyed a good spell last summer and after 8 months off he doubled his tally of handicap wins when successful at Windsor (1m2f, soft) 18 days ago, well on top at the finish. Can give his running once more. 4lb higher than for his successful Windsor return; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (10/1 -11%) Time Interval |
10/1(-11%) | (8) Time Interval 10/1, Successful on his second outing last season and, after finishing runner-up to Mustazeed at this C&D on his return this year, repeated the feat when scoring at Goodwood (9.9f, heavy) 13 days ago. Respected in his current form. Made all at Goodwood last time and just 3lb higher but will do well to dominate this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (10) (3.5/1 +30%) Tuxedo Junction |
3.5/1(+30%) | (10) Tuxedo Junction 3.5/1, Won maiden at Ffos Las last summer but down the field in handicaps on his following two starts. However, after 6 months off (gelded) he got back on the up when third to Mustazeed at this C&D last time. Can reverse the form with further progress to come. Third behind Mustazeed and Time Interval over C&D last month; less exposed than that pair. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (15) (22/1 +12%) Premiere Ligne |
22/1(+12%) | (15) Premiere Ligne 22/1, Ran to a fairly useful level when winning a pair of handicaps in France in 2022, successful in 10-runner event at Tarbes (11.4f, firm) when last seen in October. Off 7 months ahead of first run for yard after leaving Francois Rohaut. 2-7 at around 1m4f in France; makes stable debut after seven months off; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (9) (14/1 +0%) The Whipmaster |
14/1(+0%) | (9) The Whipmaster 14/1, Better than ever last season, racking up a four-timer in May/June. Continued in good heart on his next 3 starts, not seen to best effect at Ascot in August and at Epsom the following month, though finished the campaign with a below-par effort. Off 7 months (has had wind op). Completed a four-timer last year; this looks a competitive race in which to reappear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (18) (100/1 -150%) Sea Appeal |
100/1(-150%) | (18) Sea Appeal 100/1, Off the mark for current yard at the third attempt when winning handicap at Chelmsford (13.3f) in July last year. Failed to go from that effort, though, shaping as if amiss in minor event at the Curragh when last seen in October. Returns from seven months off over a trip short of his best; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (13) (20/1 -25%) First Officer |
20/1(-25%) | (13) First Officer 20/1, Fine start for this yard in the autumn, scoring at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) in October prior to a couple of solid efforts in Doncaster handicaps. Began the current year in decent nick on the all-weather, but below form back on turf last 2 outings. Blinkers reached for. Finished behind four of these over C&D last time; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (14) (66/1 -200%) Tribal Wisdom |
66/1(-200%) | (14) Tribal Wisdom 66/1, Fairly useful form when runner-up on his first 3 starts, albeit beaten at 1/8 in a match at Windsor (1m2f) in August. Disappointed on handicap debut at Epsom the following month, though, so others preferred on his first run since leaving Charlie Appleby. Hood back on. Runner-up three times in four starts for Charlie Appleby last year; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
19th (7) (100/1 -150%) Wilkie |
100/1(-150%) | (7) Wilkie 100/1, Fairly useful performer in France for Andre Fabre and, after 17 months off, showed he retained his ability when fifth of 7 in handicap at Epsom (10.1f, good) last September. Has struggled on heavy ground both starts since, but others still more persuasive. Beaten miles on heavy ground the last twice; better ground may help, but lots to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
TUXEDO JUNCTION (third) finished behind both Mustazeed (winner) and Time Interval (second) on his reappearance last month. He's now 6lb better off with both of those rivals, however, and it would be no surprise were he to reverse that form en route to victory. Wisper continues to progress and must be considered, along with Wind Your Neck In, who remains open to further improvement. Others to note include First Officer, Premiere Ligne and The Whipmaster.
TUXEDO JUNCTION got back on the up when third over C&D on his return (had been gelded) and he can take another step forward to reverse the form with Mustazeed from that race. Wind Your Neck In could be the main danger to the pair as he goes back up in trip following a promising reappearance, while Time Interval is another who merits consideration.
The vote goes to MUSTAZEED who appeared to win with more in hand than the margin would suggest on stable debut over C&D last month.

Half-brother to 5.3f winner Hattie C. 50/1, seventh of 8 in minor event at Salisbury (5f, good to soft) on debut 15 days ago, slowly away. Plenty of improvement needed. Well held on his Salisbury debut last month; will need a good deal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1.25/1 +17%) Baheer |
1.25/1(+17%) | (1) Baheer 1.25/1, Foaled March 8. 100,000 gns yearling, Mehmas gelding. Dam unraced out of unraced sister to Park/Hungerford Stakes winner Balthazaar's Gift. Appealing newcomer. Stable has won three of the last four runnings so well worth keeping an eye on. |

25/1(+11%) | (3) Etihad Rail 25/1, Foaled January 23. £3,000 yearling, Fast Company colt. Dam, maiden (stayed 7.5f), closely related to useful 1m winner Wahash. Others make more appeal on pedigree and stable doesn't have many 2yos go in first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (5/1 +33%) Phone Tag |
5/1(+33%) | (5) Phone Tag 5/1, Foaled February 27. 80,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey colt. Dam 2-y-o 1m winner. Stable had a winning 2yo newcomer last month and well worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (11/1 +21%) Rednblue Sovereign |
11/1(+21%) | (7) Rednblue Sovereign 11/1, Foaled March 20. €25,000 yearling, resold €60,000 yearling, Ten Sovereigns colt. Dam ran twice out of lightly-raced half-sister to high-class winner up to 14.6f Kingston Hill. Stable had a winning newcomer at Beverley this month; watch market. |

Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 10.5f Hooking. Fair bit of appeal on paper and in-form yard have had winning 2-y-os this term. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/1 -33%) Quickfire |
16/1(-33%) | (6) Quickfire 16/1, Foaled February 26. 36,000 gns foal, 47,000 gns yearling, Land Force colt. Half-brother to useful winner up to 7.4f Byron's Choice and 2-y-o 6f winner Twilight Song. Makes some appeal on pedigree, but stable has few winning 2yo newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (12/1 -50%) Rust E Boy |
12/1(-50%) | (8) Rust E Boy 12/1, Foaled January 14. €37,000 yearling, Inns of Court colt. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). 25/1, fifth of 8 in maiden at this course (5.2f, heavy) on debut 28 days ago. That form has worked out and he should improve but this could be another useful event. Some ability when fifth on debut here last month but up against some interesting newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (28/1 -133%) Irrelevant |
28/1(-133%) | (4) Irrelevant 28/1, Foaled April 10. €18,000 foal, 80,000 gns yearling, Ribchester colt out of close relative to smart winner up to 9.4f (runner-up in Irish Oaks) Jack Naylor. Stable can get them ready first time and market should be revealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (11/1 -22%) Time Signature |
11/1(-22%) | (9) Time Signature 11/1, Foaled January 25. 77,000 gns foal, 120,000 gns yearling, Dark Angel colt. Dam, winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner), half-sister to useful winner up to 1m (stays 1¼m) Sound Angela. Attractive pedigree, but stable has few winning 2yo newcomers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Hugo Palmer has enjoyed a decent start with his juveniles this season, and it may be worth taking a chance on PHONE TAG. The 80,000gns purchase, a son of Havana Grey, should not lack for speed on debut and appeals as a likely contender. Baheer is bred to be sharp and should not be underestimated, while Battle Charge and Quickfire are others to consider.
Usually an informative maiden and newcomer BATTLE CHARGE gets the vote before market clues. Baheer and Time Signature are also appealing on debut, while Rust E Boy can improve on his first effort here 4 weeks ago, form which has been franked.
The vote goes to BATTLE CHARGE whose stable does well with 2yos first time out and had a winning newcomer at Nottingham a week ago.

1st (1) (5/1 -25%) Good Karma |
5/1(-25%) | (1) Good Karma 5/1, May not have handled testing conditions here on debut but looked a good prospect 6 weeks on as he stormed clear in 7f Wolverhampton maiden. Sent off favourite but proved far too green in 7f Chelmsford maiden on debut in October. Could do a lot better. Struggled as fav on the AW in Oct; interesting to see if there's any confidence behind him. |

100/1(-25%) | (3) Charlatan 100/1, Down the field in maiden/novice 8 months apart (gelded in between). Beaten 20l and 17l in his first two runs; will earn a mark after this.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
RESOLUTE MAN shed his maiden tag at the first time of asking at Yarmouth in October last year and that form is working out well. The son of Dubawi is likely to have more to come on his return to action and can defy the 7lb penalty. The main threat looks to be Oliver Show, who was green on debut but was sent off favourite that day, which suggests he has shown a lot at home. Any market support for Chelsea Square should be noted.
RESOLUTE MAN looked a useful prospect when winning at Yarmouth in the autumn, and with that form having worked out he's taken to defy a penalty on his return before his sights are raised. Good Karma was impressive himself when scoring at Wolverhampton when last seen and looks sure to win more races. English Oak is a well-bred newcomer to note.
As Roger Varian said in his Stable Tour interview, Yarmouth winner RESOLUTE MAN "could be anything".

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
EQUATORIAL was just touched off by a short head on debut at Doncaster and he would have learned a lot from that outing. The son of Showcasing finished just over two lengths clear of a subsequent winner in third that day and he can take a step forward to strike. Fleet Admiral was an expensive purchase and he most certainly warrants a market check making his first start, along with fellow newcomer Eyeshadow.
EQUATORIAL made a promising debut at Doncaster 3 weeks ago, albeit under more testing conditions, and looks a player with improvement very much on the cards. Troon looked a useful prospect at Kempton on debut last October and he's in with a shout even under a penalty. Fleet Admiral and Crack Shot are both interesting newcomers.
Equatorial would have won at Doncaster had he been that bit wiser but KOKOMO ran no less a promising race on her debut.

10th (2) (80/1 -220%) Billabong |
80/1(-220%) | (2) Billabong 80/1, 42,000 gns Oasis Dream gelding. Closely related to 2-y-o 6f winner Muthmira and half-brother to several winners, including useful 9f-1½m winner Supernova and 1½m-2m winner Silver Silk. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Seendid is related to a few winners including Group 1 winner Nezwaah, who struck on her debut. However, he may struggle to beat TONY MONTANA, who was a length and a half in front of Racingbreaks Ryder on debut, who is now rated 97, which sets a very high standard for this contest. Bloodhound is another newcomer to note for the Charles Hills stable.
A maiden with some very good recent winners. The Gosden stable took this with St Leger hero Logician in 2019 and is taken to repeat the feat with TONY MONTANA, who shaped very well on his only 2-y-o start. Naqeeb didn't make quite the impact the betting suggested he might do on debut but could prove a different proposition now. Nothing To Sea still looked green at Windsor so he also makes the shortlist. Seendid is one of a few interesting newcomers.
Second for TONY MONTANA at Salisbury last September is clearly the best of what little racecourse evidence there is.

5/1(+33%) | (13) Roman Art 5/1, Has hinted at promise, fifth of 12 in 1m minor event at Southwell in January. Starts life in handicaps on a lenient mark so he merits serious consideration. Some ability on the AW and worth a second look on turf/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (10/1 +0%) Phenomenon |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Phenomenon 10/1, 9/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, good third of 8 in 1m handicap at Lingfield (AW) 15 days ago. In the mix with headgear retained over this longer trip. Similar level of form in first four starts, but seems unlikely to appreciate longer trip. |

16th (4) (6.5/1 +46%) Salamancan |
6.5/1(+46%) | (4) Salamancan 6.5/1, Off 5 months before coming eighth of 10 in 1m maiden (66/1) here 27 days ago. Back up in trip for his handicap debut and no forlorn hope. Well held in first three starts, but nicely bred so could show more on handicap debut. |

17th (2) (28/1 -250%) Roar Emotion |
28/1(-250%) | (2) Roar Emotion 28/1, Improved markedly after 8 months off to make a winning handicap debut in 12-runner event at Kempton (8f) 37 days ago. Up in trip and well in the mix again. Successful reappearance/handicap debut at Kempton last month, but form not working out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This can go the way of CHERRYHAWK, who must hold every chance if building on a strong runner-up effort on her handicap debut at Goodwood last time out. The form of her stable is another plus and she is taken to see off the likes of Kempton winner Roar Emotion and Phenomenon, who could easily improve for the step up in trip. Others to note include Dance Havana, Lucky Fifteen and Major Major.
This is wide open but Hughie Morrison's handicap debutant ROMAN ART looks to start life in handicaps on a lenient mark and can go close if, as expected, building on his Southwell fifth after a break. Cherryhawk represents the in-form yard of Dominic Ffrench Davis and must enter calculations nudged up only a 1 lb for his excellent recent Goodwood second. Kempton scorer Roar Emotion is firmly in the picture too, while handicap debutants Salamancan and Lucky Fifteen appeal as likely improvers.
A chance is taken with handicap-newcomer SALAMANCAN, who hasn't shown much in three starts but is bred to be much better.

10/1(+29%) | (8) Rose Light 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden for Andrew Balding. Good start for this yard when close third at Lingfield on handicap debut/return and extra distance could suit. Made a good start (1m2f, AW) for new stable and she is by a stamina influence. |

16th (10) (28/1 -180%) Sainte Colette |
28/1(-180%) | (10) Sainte Colette 28/1, Responded well to first-time cheekpieces when making a winning return at Wolverhampton. Remains unexposed so may do better again. Back up 2lb but lightly raced and could have more to give after her 1m4f AW win. |

17th (4) (10/1 -25%) Spyfall |
10/1(-25%) | (4) Spyfall 10/1, Ran her best race when a close fourth at Wolverhampton on return. Acts on soft and not discounted with de la Sayette taking off a valuable 3 lb. Close fourth of seven off this mark at Wolverhampton (1m4f, AW) was creditable last time. |

18th (13) (66/1 -100%) Azamhan |
66/1(-100%) | (13) Azamhan 66/1, Fair handicapper in France for C. & Y. Lerner (left €20,000 in December). Off since November and stepping up in trip on first run for new yard. Sole win (31 starts) for the Lerners in France came over 1m2f in May 2022; good mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Now that the penny has dropped for WARHOL after a taking win at Windsor last month, the consistent four-year-old should continue to progress off a mere 2lb higher mark. Bunker Bay continues to knock on the door and is fancied to be thereabouts again, along with Talap, who won on the same card as the selection at Windsor. Masqool and Spyfall are others open to improvement.
BUNKER BAY looks ready to strike having pulled clear of the rest when a close second at Yarmouth on his return earlier this month. This does look competitive, though, with last-time-out winners Masqool and Talap heading the dangers.
This looks a fiendish puzzle but the vote goes to ROSE LIGHT ahead of Talap, Sainte Colette and Masqool.
Ths is the racecard key.
