1.88/1(+16%) | (2) Do Si Do 1.88/1, Once-raced filly. 17/2, ninth of 13 in maiden at this C&D (good to soft) on debut 31 days ago. Wasn't beaten that far and the experience won't be wasted on her. Never counted on last month's debut in stronger C&D maiden; don't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (2.5/1 +17%) Ebanza |
2.5/1(+17%) | (3) Ebanza 2.5/1, Foaled April 21. Night of Thunder filly. Dam, 9.4f winner who stayed 1½m, half-sister to smart 12.5f winner Ebiyza. Likely type on paper and very much one to note in the betting. Stoutly-bred newcomer for whom this trip looks on the short side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3.5/1 +22%) Au Lait |
3.5/1(+22%) | (1) Au Lait 3.5/1, Thrice-raced filly. Sixteenth of 20 in minor event at this C&D (soft, 33/1) 69 days ago. Stable in good form. Visor on 1st time and needs to find some improvement. Hasn't progressed in three starts, tried visored now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (5/1 -67%) Vierson |
5/1(-67%) | (6) Vierson 5/1, Foaled April 1. 70,000 gns yearling, €80,000 2-y-o, Blue Point filly. Closely related to French winner up to 9f Lastrada and half-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Sweet Harmony. Market should point the way. Sire Blue Point having a cracking first season; market support on debut has to be noted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 -33%) Mags |
10/1(-33%) | (5) Mags 10/1, Foaled March 16. €22,000 yearling, Footstepsinthesand filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 5f winner Jarvis and 6f winner River Tweed. Well worth a second look in the betting. Yard well capable of readying them first time out and has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-88%) | (4) Green Valentine 150/1, Once-raced filly. 150/1, last of 18 in maiden at Navan (5.8f, soft) on debut 11 days ago. Last of 18 on recent Navan debut when a 100-1 shot; can only be watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Although her stable wouldn't be noted for having juvenile winners, the Ciaran Murphy-trained VIERSON is bred to be a speedy sort. By Blue Point, a sire that has made an outstanding start to his career at stud, the filly is a half-sister to two winners. While it is likely that she will improve from the initial experience, connections may just have found a nice opportunity. Au Lait is a real threat, having run better on all three starts than her form figures indicate. Hampered on debut over course and distance before running on late, she ran green when sent off favourite on her second start, while the Ballyhane was a bridge too far last time. Do Si Do was well beaten over course and distance on debut last month but is sure to be all the better for that experience.
This may well go to one of the newcomers, with EBANZA and Vierson both making plenty of appeal on paper. The market should be informative but, as things stand, preference is for the former. Do Si Do's C&D debut last month was not completely devoid of promise and she is the pick of the trio with experience.
A weak-looking maiden for the venue in which a chance is taken on the speedily-bred debutante MAGS

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
IL PELLEGRINO did very well to finish runner-up on his debut at the Curragh last month especially considering he got upset in the stalls and missed the break. However, once the penny began to drop, the Joseph O'Brien-trained colt kept on well to go second inside the last furlong. Provided that he settles better in the preliminaries, the son of No Nay Never should go one better. Goal Exceeded has run well enough on both appearances to date to suggest he can again make his presence felt. The John O'Donoghue-trained colt has an advantage over a few of these in terms of experience. Chet's Fancy is interesting on breeding on his racecourse debut and is another to note.
IL PELLEGRINO shaped with plenty of promise when chasing home the useful Pipsy (listed winner since) in a maiden at the Curragh last month and is taken to go one better here. He pulled nicely clear of the third, Emperor of Rome, who had the benefit of prior experience and will do well to reverse those placings. Goal Exceeded and Take Me To Church are live each-way contenders, while newcomer Chet's Fancy is one to note in the betting.
IL PELLEGRINO stands out on his Curragh debut effort and is a confident choice

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KING CUAN should prove hard to beat in a race where he is favourably treated by the conditions. The Paddy Twomey-trained colt has won two of his three starts but could well be coming here unbeaten but for running into traffic problems on his racecourse debut at the Curragh. With the form of his two subsequent wins having worked out extremely well, the son of Tasleet looks a very smart prospect. Megarry has to concede weight all round but the recent Listed race winner should be capable of going close under Gary Carroll. While he is certainly more exposed than King Cuan, he has proven himself at a higher level and is more streetwise. Lia Fail doesn't have her usual claimer on board here but shouldn't be discounted despite having a bit to do at these weights.
A sizeable pot on offer here and ULURU and King Cuan, both of whom look pretty useful, could be the pair to concentrate on. There's real substance to King Cuan's form and he's not passed over at all lightly, but Uluru did the job in the manner of a fine prospect on debut at Gowran (changed hands since) and she looks a Group-class filly in the making. Megarry is a solid type and is the clear best of the rest on the back of his listed success at Fairyhouse.
There should be better to come from KING CUAN who overcame adversity to win snugly from Jakajaro over 6f at this venue last month.

Although yet to totally convince over this trip, CLEVER AND COOL stayed on well enough at Cork last time to suggest she has the stamina for such a test. The form of her win at Tipperary last month over just half-a-furlong shorter looks very strong in the context of this race. Provided her stamina reserves remain enact, the Jim Bolger-trained three-year-old should go very close. Mashia proved bitterly disappointing in a Group 2 at the Curragh last time but she was stepping up in both trip and class. On the balance of her form, the Dermot Weld-trained filly remains a smart prospect who could well have more to offer at this level. American Sonja doesn't have the easiest of draws to overcome but the Tasleet filly is a very consistent performer who should be involved.
Joseph O'Brien holds a strong hand here and DIDN'THAVEMUCHTODO could be the pick of his three candidates. She was never in the hunt in a big handicap at the Curragh last time but was in good form prior to that, including at this level, and dropping back to a mile will help. Stablemate Honey Girl is feared most, with Clever And Cool and Mashia also shortlisted.
Despite having a bit to find with Clever And Cool on Tipperary running, HONEY GIRL gets the vote on the strength of overall form

13th (9) (28/1 +30%) Astar |
28/1(+30%) | (9) Astar 28/1, Fairly useful filly. Didn't need to be at best when winning 8-runner maiden (8/11) at Clonmel (9.6f, good) 38 days ago, driven out. Stable having good spell. Very hard to make a case for. Consistent sort, deserved her Clonmel maiden win, rated 18lb inferior to stablemate Azazat. |

Merits consideration. Began the season brightly with Listed second over 1m4f at Cork, no progress since then. |

The Dermot Weld-trained AZAZAT should appreciate this easier grade having been highly tried since winning her maiden at Leopardstown in May. To her credit, the Aga Khan-owned three-year-old has run some big races, finishing second in Group 3 class at Cork and beaten less than eight lengths in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh. On her penultimate start, the daughter of Camelot showed that she was competitive at this level when runner-up over ten furlongs. Stepping back up in trip here is certainly going to see her in a more favourable light. Gather Ye Rosebuds is one of the more unexposed contenders in the race. A winner on her debut, the UK raider found the ground too quick at York but returned to her best last time. Dancing Tango needs to step forward but could well be capable of doing so.
On what could be a red-letter day for the Joseph O'Brien yard, GOODIE TWO SHOES is taken to bag this listed prize. She landed a Gowran handicap on her latest start in this sphere in August and recently opened her hurdles account in good style a fortnight ago. There should be more to come from this unexposed 4-y-o. British raider Gather Ye Rosebuds is second choice ahead of Azazat and the selection's stablemate Dancing Tango.
With nine of these holding a rating between 96 and 101, this looks open. AZAZAT may prove equal to the task.

17/2(-31%) | (6) Yamalia Star 17/2, 5/1, good second of 9 in handicap at Killarney (11.2f, heavy) 15 days ago. Needs to raise her game a touch. Just denied on heavy at Killarney when clear second; 3lb higher but remains on a fair mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DUTCH GOLD, a winner at the Curragh on Thursday, can complete a quick double. The Noel Meade-trained gelding was always prominent in that aforementioned race, showing a smart turn of foot to quicken clear inside the last two furlongs. With the automatic 7lb penalty he picked up for that win cancelled out by Neil Ryan's claim, the gelding can race off the same mark here. Immutable finished ahead of Dutch Gold at Navan in July but the latter was virtually pulled up after his reins broke. Since then, Immutable has gone on to finish runner-up in a Listed race. Yamalia Star, who was only just denied at Killarney last time, has been improving with every start. Jack Davison's filly shouldn't be too far away under Ronan Whelan.
BOTTLER'SECRET built on his debut promise when landing a Galway maiden in August and, with the promise of better to come now pitched into a handicap and faced with a stiffer test, he gets the nod. Mr King didn't get home when upped to 1½m at Bellewstown but looks dangerous back at what appears to be his optimum trip, while Eastern Legend, Immutable and Skyquake also merits respect in a competitive handicap.
Having looked in rude health when scoring in testing conditions at the Curragh on Thursday DUTCH GOLD can follow up

7/1(-17%) | (2) Fools Glory 7/1, 11/2, good third of 10 in handicap at Navan (8f, soft) 11 days ago, barely adequate test. Significantly back up in trip. Each-way shout. Strong-finishing Navan should appreciate return to this trip and handles these conditions. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ALFALFA can continue the excellent form of the Tim Doyle stable by following up his recent win at Thurles. Runner-up on his previous two starts, the gelding had been very consistent prior to gaining that first career success. Although that win came over a mile-and-a-half, the son of Sir Prancealot seems adaptable tripwise having run well over nine furlongs previously. The Andrew McNamara-trained Red Trail arrives here bidding for a hat-trick having won his last two starts at Gowran and Down Royal respectively. Although climbing the handicap, the four-year-old may well have more to offer. Team of Firsts shaped well enough on two recent runs over hurdles to suggest he could well win races for new trainer Pat Flynn.
A chance is taken on LA DAME BLANCHE, who hasn't been at her best of late but she's been given a chance by the handicapper and better is expected back up in trip here in a first-time hood. Believe In Science also needs to bounce back but will have a good chance if able to do so, now 3 lb below the mark of which he was a creditable third on his reappearance in June. Alfalfa and the hat-trick seeking Red Trail are others to consider.
Alfalfa demands plenty of respect but slight preference is for FOOLS GLORY, who fairly flew home at Navan and will relish this trip

Having most likely being targeted at this race for some time, FILEY BAY can prove once again how good his trainer is at lining a horse up for a particular day. No stranger to competitive big race fields, the seven-year-old was placed in both the Betfair and County Hurdle last season. Following a highly commendable fifth in the Galway Hurdle in August, he reverted to the flat to win his maiden at Tramore next time. With a subsequent run over an inadequate 7f easily ignored, he has the appearance of a well handicapped horse. Last year's third, Powerful Aggie, appears to have improved in the interim, so has to be a leading contender under Conor Stone-Walsh. Immelmann is of obvious interest towards the foot of the weights. A winner at Thurles last time, he is relatively unexposed at this trip and trainer Willie Mullins excels with such horses.
Willie Mullins saddles four live contenders and RAVING ROYAL could be the pick of them, for all that she's been absent for a year. She made a winning handicap debut at Thurles when last seen and there should be plenty more to come from this unexposed filly. Immelmann, another representing the Mullins yard, looks a big threat on the back of his recent breakthrough success in this sphere. Brogue is also shortlisted, along with smart hurdler Filey Bay, who is making his handicap debut on the Flat.
Typically wide-open with the vote going to recent Down Royal winner BROGUE, that form being franked since
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
