1st (11) ![]() Noble Nation |
3/1(+45%) | (11) Noble Nation 3/1, Making only his second start at sprint trips, took a step forward when opening account in 13-runner handicap at Sligo (5.7f, soft, 7/2) in August, well on top finish. Remains unexposed and he's a major player. Two promising handicap runs before beating the frustrating Dark Viper at Sligo, 7lb higher. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Catherine Chroi |
9/1(-29%) | (2) Catherine Chroi 9/1, Won six times last year and left her reappearance behind when fourth of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 25/1) a week ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Not taken lightly with recent run behind her. Fourth at the Curragh last Sunday with Loingseoir and Rathbranchurch behind, clear chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Sakakawea |
11/1(+0%) | (10) Sakakawea 11/1, Winner at Sligo on her third start, but failed to repeat that effort 6 months later when thirteenth of 15 on handicap debut at the Curragh (6f, soft, 7/1) in October. Remains lightly raced so she's not ruled out. Has a low rating for a maiden winner but she failed to make an impact on handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Velvet Skies |
10/1(-100%) | (6) Velvet Skies 10/1, Bounced back to form when belatedly doubling his tally in 13-runner handicap (9/2) at Dundalk (6f) 16 days ago, edging ahead near line. Task is now to be able to build on his latest effort. Recent Dundalk win was his first since 2023 and only second in all, others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (16) ![]() Lismacbryan Hill |
14/1(+58%) | (16) Lismacbryan Hill 14/1, Remains a maiden and, in first-time cheekpieces, fared no better when twentieth of 24 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, soft, 33/1) in October. Looks to be up against it. Has failed to reach the first ten in three handicap starts, yard had a winner last Sunday. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) ![]() Senado Square |
10/1(+29%) | (14) Senado Square 10/1, Course winner. Tongue strap on for 1st time, bit below form fifth of 11 in handicap at Dundalk (6f, 15/2) 2 days ago. Has been kept busy on AW, the latest run was on Friday when My Girl Sioux fared better. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() Rathbranchurch |
4/1(+43%) | (3) Rathbranchurch 4/1, Thirteen runs since his last win, but after 4 months off he met trouble in running when seventh of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 4/1) a week ago. Is now 4 lb below his last winning mark so he merits consideration. Beaten favourite last Sunday, needs to reverse form with Catherine Chroi and Loingseoir. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) ![]() Loingseoir |
16/1(-78%) | (5) Loingseoir 16/1, Latest win at Fairyhouse in September and, having dropped back down to the same mark, shaped as if better for the run when fifth of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 12/1) a week ago. One to note. All six wins have come over longer trips, last Sunday's Curragh fifth was encouraging. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) ![]() Devil's Angel |
25/1(-108%) | (9) Devil's Angel 25/1, Twenty-four runs since last win in 2022. Again ran respectably when 4 lengths fifth of 13 to Velvet Skies in handicap (13/2) at Dundalk (6f) 16 days ago, but something extra required if he's to get back to winning ways. Has been holding his form at Dundalk, beaten 4l in fifth behind Velvet Skies on latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) ![]() Distillate |
40/1(-233%) | (8) Distillate 40/1, C&D winner who was successful twice at Cork (both at 7f) last year. Not discredited on final 2 outings, third of 10 in claimer (5/2) at Dundalk (6f) when last seen in November. Back in handicap company on her return. Best at 7f but finished a consistent AW spell with third over this trip in November. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (15) ![]() Step Back In Time |
14/1(+72%) | (15) Step Back In Time 14/1, Eleven runs since sole success in 2023. One of better efforts when third at Navan in October but below form on remaining 2 starts last year, eleventh of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (6f, 25/1) 4 months ago. Others preferred. No strong reason why she can improve her 1-25 record, placed only once last season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) ![]() White Clover |
8/1(+20%) | (1) White Clover 8/1, Off the mark at the eighth attempt when winning 13-runner maiden at Navan (5f, good to soft, 8/1) in October, staying on to lead well inside final 1f. More needed as she goes handicapping after 5 months off. Belatedely delivered on early-season promise with 5f win in October, mark left unchanged. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (7) ![]() Run Forrest Run |
25/1(-108%) | (7) Run Forrest Run 25/1, Successful at the Curragh (6f) in October and ran at least as well when fifth of 15 in handicap at the same C&D (soft, 25/1) later same month. Needs to pick up where he left off making first start since leaving Michael Fenton. Took advantage of a reduced mark to win at Cork last October, has changed stable. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (4) ![]() Escape Act |
28/1(-27%) | (4) Escape Act 28/1, After 5 months off ahead of first run since leaving David Simcock, was never involved when twelfth of 18 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, soft, 16/1) 7 days ago. Needs to get back on the up as he drops in trip. Down the field at the Curragh last week, vulnerable on first attempt below 1m. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (12) ![]() Times In Oz |
100/1(-150%) | (12) Times In Oz 100/1, Third at Tipperary on second start but well held both subsequent outings, fourteenth of 18 in handicap at Navan (5.8f, good to soft, 80/1) when last seen in October. First run for yard after leaving Daniel James Murphy. Made the frame in two small-field maidens last year, down the field on handicap debut. |
Velvet Skies comes here in winning form from Dundalk but may not want the ground to soften too much. With that in mind, WHITE CLOVER gets the nod. She won a maiden to end her last campaign and doesn't look harshly treated off 72, despite carrying top-weight. Others for the shortlist include Noble Nation, Step Back In Time and Escape Act.
NOBLE NATION showed improved form when getting off the mark in comprehensive fashion at Sligo last summer and, with more still to offer as a sprinter, he is taken to follow up on his return. Catherine Chroi stepped up on her reapppearance when making the frame at the Curragh last week and could be the main danger, with Rathbranchurch completing the shortlist.
This looks very open and it could pay to forgive RATHBRANCHURCH his failure to justify favouritism at the Curragh last Sunday.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Charanda |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Charanda 12/1, Blinkered/tongue strap on for 1st time, seventh of 10 in handicap at Dundalk (7f, 28/1) 23 days ago. Back down in trip. Uphill task. Yard in form, majority of form on the AW, this looks her trip but a bit to prove on turf. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) ![]() Stiorra |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Stiorra 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. First run since leaving Ollie Sangster when twelfth of 14 in maiden at Dundalk (7f, 16/1). Off 135 days. Down in trip. Makes handicap debut. Handicap debutante, untried on soft ground, disappointed on stable debut at Dundalk. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) ![]() James The Second |
3/1(+67%) | (11) James The Second 3/1, Respectable tenth of 16 in claimer at Fairyhouse (7f, good, 20/1). Off 6 months. Back down in trip. Merits consideration at these weights if fully tuned up. Best effort when third on soft at Galway over 7f, 9lb lower now, Joyce prefers stablemate. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) ![]() Tilly's Company |
14/1(0%) | (6) Tilly's Company 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1, tenth of 14 in nursery at this C&D (good to firm). Off 6 months. 0-5 so far, best effort on fast ground at Cork, well beaten on h'cap debut, best watched. |
A tricky looking contest and UNIQUE JOURNEY may be able to strike on his return. The Danny Murphy-trained gelding ran a big race in testing conditions when last seen at Galway in October, having been a touch unlucky on his previous outing at Navan. He had finished third to one of today's rivals, Gazelle D'or, on his handicap debut and is weighted to turn the tables now. Island Girl had some nice maiden form last season and is one to note for a yard that generally makes a good start to the season.
UNIQUE JOURNEY rates the pick of these weights so is fancied to build on his excellent Galway second and get off the mark on his seasonal return. Gazelle d'Or heads the list of dangers on the back of her breakthrough Navan success with Eric Lock and Island Girl appealing as the pick of the rest in the battle for minor honours.
A chance is taken on DANCE FOR CHESTER. He hasn't shown much so far on good ground but he could improve plenty for these conditions

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (15) ![]() Storm Piece |
13/8(+46%) | (15) Storm Piece 13/8, Thrice-raced colt. 13/8, fourth of 14 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, good to soft), doing too much too soon. Off 175 days but he's well in the mix. Juvenile form ties with several Aidam O'Brien-trained colts, one for the short list. |

16th (1) ![]() Freelance Dancer |

ROWDY YEATS may be able to make a winning return here. The Make Believe colt made a promising start last season when chasing home the classy Arizona Blaze at the Curragh on the first day but didn't see the track again until September, when again second to Cercene. The handicapper has given him a lofty enough mark of 91 and that sets a good standard. Iron Fist is rated 87 after three runs last year, the best of those when second to Cap Saint Martin at the Curragh. He looks like an obvious danger. Ballydoyle colt Mississippi River was placed on all three starts last season and is another one for the shortlist.
Lots with chances but the vote goes to MISSISSIPPI RIVER who progressed with each of his three runs as a juvenile and can make a winning return here. Noel Meade's Rowdy Yeats also has better days ahead of him and heads the list of dangers with Storm Piece, Iron Fist, Dun An Oir and Diego El Queso also in the picture.
This could go to IRON FIST who showed ability in 1m maidens at the Curragh and may prove at least as effective over this trip

![]() Quatre Bras |
(8) 20/1(-43%) | (8) Quatre Bras 20/1, All-weather winner (at 7f) who proved consistent without getting his head in front for Jane Chapple-Hyam last season. returns from 7 months off with a hood fitted on stable debut and the betting can prove a useful guide. AW winner for Jane Chapple-Hyam at two, fair placed form in turf handicaps last season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) ![]() Hurricane Ivor |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Hurricane Ivor 20/1, Stepped up markedly on his comeback run in this race 12 months ago when successful at the Curragh (7f) in May. Exploits mixed during a light campaign thereafter and this run may well bring him on. Formerly best known as a sprinter, developed into a useful competitor at 7f last season. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) ![]() Money Dancer |
9/1(+36%) | (9) Money Dancer 9/1, 7f maiden winner on debut this time last year. Struggled upped in class thereafter but back on track with placed efforts in pair of juvenile maiden hurdles around the turn of the year. May have more to offer returned to this sphere. Failed to build on an early-season maiden win last year, has run well in juvenile hurdles. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() Sara Valentina |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Sara Valentina 18/1, Lightly-raced winner. 11/1, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at this C&D in October, losing place around 2f out. Returns with yard amongst the winners and surprise where she not capable of better this season. Third to Facethepuckout over C&D last July, plenty to prove after her October C&D failure. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) ![]() Heart Of Darkness |
40/1(-100%) | (11) Heart Of Darkness 40/1, Creditable third of 7 in handicap at Dundalk (7f, 28/1) 53 days ago, ridden when short of room over 1f out. Likely needs to pull out more if she's to open her account on turf here. Apparently unfancied (28-1) when third at Dundalk on her first try at 7f, definite chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Fast Tara |
33/1(-136%) | (5) Fast Tara 33/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 8/1, twelfth of 16 in handicap at Galway (7f, soft) in August. Changed yards ahead of return to action and worth noting she has gone well fresh previously. Not discounted. Won a 1m maiden at three for Johnny Murtagh, failed to score for Joseph O'Brien last year. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) ![]() Love Billy Boy |
11/8(+45%) | (4) Love Billy Boy 11/8, First run since leaving Richard Hannon/off 6 months when good second of 12 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 5/1) 7 days ago, having to weave through and unlucky not to win. One to be interested in turned out quickly. Looked unlucky not to collect over 6f last Sunday on Irish debut, extra furlong will suit. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) ![]() En Or |
40/1(-471%) | (2) En Or 40/1, Versatile sort who tasted success twice on the Flat at up to 2m last year and best effort yet over hurdles when second in 17-runner Limerick maiden (2m) in December. This trip may well be on the sharp side however back from 85 days off. Useful dual-purpose type who stays 2m on the Flat, likely to find 7f inadequate. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) ![]() Facethepuckout |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Facethepuckout 14/1, Successful on seasonal return over C&D last July before a good third at Galway a week later. Mixed bag in 3 starts thereafter but record at this venue is a positive one, so he's not dismissed out of hand back from 5 months off. Out of form at the end of last season but commands respect as a dual C&D winner. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (15) ![]() Secret Magician |
14/1(+0%) | (15) Secret Magician 14/1, C&D winner back in August who wasn't disgraced when fifth of 17 in handicap (10/3) at the Curragh (6f, good) on final start later that month. No forlorn hope from this sort of mark back from 6 months off for all this is tougher than company he usually keeps. C&D winner last August, backed that up with two good 6f runs, would prefer better ground. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) ![]() Gerrit's Gem |
16/1(+11%) | (12) Gerrit's Gem 16/1, Two wins from 6 runs last year. Latest win at Cork in October. Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap (6/1) at Leopardstown (8f, heavy). Off 154 days. Won twice at Cork last season including over this trip though handicap win was at 1m. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) ![]() Chicago Fireball |
16/1(-167%) | (1) Chicago Fireball 16/1, Dual 1m winner during first half last season and hard to knock his efforts in defeat thereafter, best effort yet when second of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) in September. Respected on return to action. Two wins over 1m last year, ended season with a good second over this trip, 7lb claimed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) ![]() Mercurial |
14/1(-40%) | (7) Mercurial 14/1, 12/1 and blinkered for 1st time, ended last season with a creditable third of 26 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) in November, keeping on. Headgear left off for seasonal bow and this run may well bring him on. Modest strike rate (2-33) but has paid his way with 15 placed efforts, could go well. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) ![]() Una Matata |
125/1(-400%) | (13) Una Matata 125/1, Lightly-raced sort, off the mark at Fairyhouse (7f) in September. Hooded for 1st time, last of 8 in minor event at the Curragh (7f, good to soft, 22/1). Off 140 days. Others more persuasive. 7f Fairyhouse maiden winner on good ground, this may be softer than ideal for her. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (14) ![]() Storm Averted |
12/1(+14%) | (14) Storm Averted 12/1, Lightly-raced filly who shaped as if better for the run after 4 months off when sixth of 13 in maiden (12/1) at Dundalk (6f) 23 days ago. Likely to be sharper now and switch to handicaps in her favour. Betting can guide. Placed in three maidens last year, handicap debut with a run in a Dundalk under her belt. |
LOVE BILLY BOY just got going a touch too late at the Curragh last Sunday when finishing second to Laugh A Minute and may be able to go one better now. The Invincible Army gelding was well supported on his first start for Ger O'Leary and looks capable of striking now, stepping up a furlong. Money Dancer had a couple of good placed efforts over jumps, over the winter, and looks capable of being competitive off this mark back on the level. Dual course and distance winner Facethepuckout is on a competitive mark and could be each-way material.
LOVE BILLY BOY looked an unlucky loser starting out for present connections when just touched off at the Curragh last week and, with the step back up in trip in his favour, he can confirm the promise of that run and come out on top. Facethepuckout goes particularly well here and he's a threat with Chicago Fireball another to note. Fast Tara also commands a second look starting out for a new yard.
Ger O'Learys's recruit LOVE BILLY BOY looked unlucky in a 6f Curragh handicap last Sunday and is tipped to make amends.

1st (4) ![]() East Hampton |
7/1(+56%) | (4) East Hampton 7/1, Winner of big-field maiden at the Curragh (6f) in October. Creditable fourth of 11 in minor event at Dundalk (6f) the following month, carrying his head awkwardly. Gelded ahead of return/handicap debut and interesting if the market spoke in his favour. Beat 20 rivals in a 6f Curragh maiden, extra furlong should be within his range. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) ![]() Wizard Of Odds |
15/2(+46%) | (8) Wizard Of Odds 15/2, Fairly useful 7f winner who didn't appear to relish the step up in trip when sixth of 11 in minor event at Dundalk (1m) in December, unable to sustain effort. Represents a stable amongst the winners and drop back to 7f rates a good move. Maiden winner over this trip, spoiled his chance with slow start at Dundalk on latest. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) ![]() Sir Jeremy |
33/1(-65%) | (10) Sir Jeremy 33/1, Successful on handicap debut at Down Royal (7f) in September. Not disgraced next 2 starts, not beaten at all far when ninth of 14 in nursery at Dundalk (7f, 17/2) on final outing in October. However, this looks tougher returning from 156 days off. Took a big rise in the ratings for a Down Royal nursery win, tough task off this mark. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Monotone |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Monotone 20/1, Lightly-raced winner. 50/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, 4¾ lengths last of 7 to Arizona Blaze in Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh (6f, good). Gelded since last seen 10 months ago and switch to handicaps rates more suitable now. 5f maiden winner last March did not appear again after finishing last in a Group 3 in May. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) ![]() Gloriously Glam |
14/1(-56%) | (9) Gloriously Glam 14/1, Improved for fitting of cheekpieces, winning Sligo nursery (5.7f, soft) and runner-up next 2 starts latterly in valuable sales' race at the Curragh. Appeared disadvantaged by track position on final start at Cork and she's another of interest now embarking on 3-y-o campaign. Below her best at Cork on final start, has sound credentials on the balance of form. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Manhattan Chute |
5/1(+17%) | (7) Manhattan Chute 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 13/2, good third of 14 in nursery at this course (5.9f, good to soft), running on having ended up closest to unfavoured inside. Feasible to think we've yet to see the best of him and considered on seasonal return, again partnered by Colin Keane. Five-race maiden but well worth considering on his Birdcatcher Nursery third at this venue. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) ![]() Viking Invasion |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Viking Invasion 4/1, Lightly-raced winner. Career best when winning 10-runner maiden at Gowran (8.3f, heavy, 10/3) in October, responding well. Drops back in trip for return/handicap bow and he's not out of things. Emphatic maiden win was achieved over further, ground will suit, might prefer further. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) ![]() Serengeti |
4/1(-60%) | (2) Serengeti 4/1, Promising type who opened his account at the third attempt despite looking far from the finished article in 11-runner maiden at Dundalk (7f) in October, kept up to work. Looks sure to do better again now handicapping. Placed behind a subsequent Group 1-winning stablemate, AW maiden winner, respected. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) ![]() Kodilicious |
10/1(-11%) | (1) Kodilicious 10/1, Daughter of Kodi Bear who landed a Sligo maiden (5.7f) in August and better form in defeat thereafter, just touched off in 10-runner listed race at Newmarket (6f) in November. Unexposed at this sort of trip and she's one to consider on seasonal bow. Fifth in Birdcatcher Nursery here before going close in a Listed race at Newmarket. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) ![]() Tangapour |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Tangapour 5/1, Thrice-raced colt who made it third time lucky under a no nonsense ride when making all in 6-runner Killarney maiden (1m, heavy) in October. In good hands and likely he'll have more to offer now handicapping. Killarney maiden winner over 1m on heavy, could be vulnerable dropping back in trip. |
Aidan O'Brien has won this race with some smart sorts in the past, most notably with Paddington two years ago, and SERENGETI could be another potential Group horse in a handicap. The son of Wootton Bassett improved with racing last year and was still a touch green when scoring at Dundalk in late October. There could be plenty of improvement to come from him this year. Tangapour, another son of Wootton Bassett, finished last year with a good win in testing conditions at Killarney and is another likely to progress. Temperance ran well on her return in a Dundalk maiden and is another to consider.
This looks a really interesting early season 3-y-o handicap with the narrow vote in favour of MANHATTAN CHUTE. He had a few of these behind when a very good third in a competitive nursery over 6f here on his final outing in October and could well provide a spot of value for a yard amongst the winners. Ballydoyle representative Serengeti boasts a progressive profile and needs considering on handicap bow, as does Kodilicious. Gloriously Glam and Wizard of Odds also make each-way appeal.
Kate McGivern gave TEMPERANCE a recent run at Dundalk, a factor that may enable her to reverse nursery form with two of these rivals

1st (6) ![]() Sunchart |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Sunchart 6/1, Useful gelding. C&D winner. Suffered a poor run when 3¼ lengths seventh of 11 to Elizabeth Jane in listed race at Leopardstown (10f, heavy, 10/1) 154 days ago. Merits serious consideration. Tough 8yo, won this on heavy ground last season, forecast rain a plus, not out of this. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) ![]() Enfranchise |
6/1(+76%) | (7) Enfranchise 6/1, Useful mare. Twenty fifth of 30 in handicap at the Curragh (16.8f, good to soft, 66/1). Off 175 days. Significantly down in trip. First run for yard after leaving John Joseph Hanlon. Talented mare on her day, has moved yards, likes testing ground, may need further. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Trustyourinstinct |
15/8(+38%) | (3) Trustyourinstinct 15/8, Smart gelding. Two wins from 4 runs last year. Off 4 months before a fading eighth of 10 in Group 2 Neom Turf Cup at King Abdulaziz (10.4f, good to firm) 29 days ago. Needs considering. Joint top rated at 109, won a Gr 3 over 1m4f last season, this trip fine, rain a worry. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Dallas Star |
3/1(+45%) | (1) Dallas Star 3/1, Useful colt. 7/4, career best when winning 5-runner minor event at Dundalk (10.7f) 23 days ago, driven out. Easy to look elsewhere in this higher grade though. Fit from the AW, forecast rain a plus, yard in fine form, leading claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) ![]() Uncanny |
9/1(+36%) | (10) Uncanny 9/1, Useful mare. Course winner. 13/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, thirteenth of 14 to Sparks Fly in listed race at Saint-Cloud (8f, heavy). Off 133 days. Should have more to offer. Won a 1m maiden here last season, handles heavy ground, a bit to find, could outrun odds. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) ![]() Dawn Rising |
40/1(-82%) | (2) Dawn Rising 40/1, Smart gelding. 8/1, 26¼ lengths sixth of 8 to Home By The Lee in Lismullen Hurdle at Navan (20.2f, good to soft) 127 days ago. Off 127 days. Significantly down in trip. Dual purpose, best Flat form over further than this, trip may be on the sharp side. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Star Harbour |
40/1(-233%) | (5) Star Harbour 40/1, Smart gelding. Visor on for 1st time in this code, below form fifth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, good, 11/4) 162 days ago. Off 162 days. Not taken lightly if shrugging off latest effort. 7-30 on the Flat, trip is fine, lacks a run, might just need this after a 162 day absence. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Bravais |
7/1(-100%) | (4) Bravais 7/1, Smart gelding. 14/1, 3 lengths third of 7 to Fantastic Moon in Prix Niel at Longchamp (11.9f, good), staying on well. Off 18 months. First run for yard after leaving Andre Fabre but can't be discounted. Solid form in pattern company for Andre Fabre when last seen in 2023, off 560 days, watch. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) ![]() Sea The Lady |
16/1(-78%) | (8) Sea The Lady 16/1, Useful mare. Twelve runs since last win in 2022. 14¼ lengths ninth of 10 to Sioux Life in Premio Lydia Tesio at Rome (9.9f, soft). Off 147 days. First run for yard after leaving Christopher Head. No forlorn hope. French recruit, stable debut, trip fine but may not want it too testing, best watched. |
DALLAS STAR has the benefit of a run under his belt and this looks like a nice early season target for him. The Cloth Of Stars colt appears to be versatile ground-wise having won the Ballysax Stakes in testing conditions last term and scoring at Dundalk recently. He is still unexposed having previously been out of action since finishing down the field in last year's Derby. Sunchart won this last year and it's no surprise to see connections target the race again. Trustyourinstinct had a good Flat campaign last year, including a Group 3 win at Leopardstown, and looks like a leading contender. He was in action in Saudi Arabia last month so also comes here fit.
SUNCHART has won off a break and didn't enjoy the rub of the green when seventh at Leopardstown last time out so is taken to return in style in this open listed contest. Uncanny has winning form at the track and could emerge as the main danger ahead of Bravais who has the form to play a big part if fully tuned up for his new yard after a long absence. Trustyourinstinct completes the shortlist.
Adrian Murray's horses are in good form and DALLAS STAR, a shock winner of the Ballysax on heavy last season, could be the one to be on

(8) 125/1(-89%) | (8) Roman Dawn 125/1, Twice-raced filly. 12/1, ninth of 16 in maiden at Galway (7f, good). Off 6 months. Should improve. Midfield in a couple of maidens at 7f last year, more needed to figure here. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) ![]() Faiyum |
2/1(+43%) | (3) Faiyum 2/1, Frankel filly. Sister to useful 7f-1m winner Covey and winner up to 9f Rising Sign. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 6f-7f winner Right Touch. Interesting newcomer. Frankel filly, sister to two winners, dam from the family of Acclamation, check market. |

8/1(+11%) | (12) Wannabe Royal 8/1, Twice-raced filly. 7/2, second of 13 in maiden at Dundalk (7f) 39 days ago, responding well. Open to progress and warrants respect on turf debut. Promise in two AW maidens, dam won a Gr 3 on soft ground, could improve for turf. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Bay Colony |
9/2(-35%) | (1) Bay Colony 9/2, Progressed steadily in a trio of starts last season, ending campaign with 5¾ lengths fifth of 8 to Dreamy in Flame of Tara Stakes at the Curragh (8f, good), not clear run. Likely contender. Top rated, failed to live up to price tag last year, could improve for softer ground. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Sharayka |
2/1(+67%) | (9) Sharayka 2/1, Pinatubo filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 1m/9f winner Sharinay and 7f winner Sharlouk, both useful. Dam 7f winner. Market check advised on debut. Daughter of Pinatubo, related to three winners, should handle conditions, check market. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Calrissiana |
33/1(-230%) | (2) Calrissiana 33/1, Lightly-raced filly. 14/1, creditable third of 11 in maiden at Dundalk (8f). Off 102 days. Blinkers on 1st time. Warrants respect. Went close at Dundalk on latest, handles soft ground, rated 78, place claims; blinkered. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) ![]() Torcalot |
16/1(-14%) | (11) Torcalot 16/1, €68,000 yearling, €200,000 2-y-o, Camelot filly. Half-sister to 1m-1¼m winner and Sir Antonino. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 1m. Yard's debutants always warrant respect. Camelot filly, 200,000 euros 2yo, half-sister to good ground winner, worth a market check. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) ![]() Sharpen |
33/1(-175%) | (10) Sharpen 33/1, €200,000 yearling, Fastnet Rock filly. Dam, placed twice at 1m, half-sister to dual Blandford Stakes winner (stayed 1½m) Shamreen out of smart 8.5f-10.5f winner Shareen. Makes appeal on paper. Fastnet Rock filly, 200,000 euros yearling, looks stable second string on jockey bookings. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Guarded |
9/1(-80%) | (4) Guarded 9/1, Made plenty of appeal on pedigree and offered something to work on when seventh of 13 in maiden at Leopardstown (7.1f, soft) on debut in October. In top hands and should have more to offer this term. Displayed signs of greenness on debut over 7f, this trip should suit, improvement likely. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) ![]() Guilty Pleasure |
22/1(-100%) | (5) Guilty Pleasure 22/1, Twice-raced filly. 12/1, fourth of 9 in maiden at Leopardstown (8f, soft). Off 155 days. One of likelier contenders. Beaten 3.5l at Leopardstown in October, seems to handle soft, each way claims. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) ![]() Northern Attitude |
200/1(+0%) | (7) Northern Attitude 200/1, Twice-raced filly. Twelfth of 13 in maiden (200/1) at Dundalk (7f). Off 144 days. Looks more one for handicaps down the line. Triple figure odds and well beaten both starts last October, one for handicaps. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) ![]() Lily Parr |
66/1(-164%) | (6) Lily Parr 66/1, Twice-raced filly. Twenty second of 27 in maiden (28/1) at the Curragh (8f, good to soft). Off 140 days. Hood on 1st time. Improvement required. Promise on heavy on debut at Gowran, not as good at the Curragh, now hooded, watch. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) ![]() Wingstar |
50/1(-150%) | (13) Wingstar 50/1, €16,000 yearling, Zoustar filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 5f winner Beechwood Donna and 2-y-o 6f winner Keep Warm. Dam, 6f winner, sister to useful 2-y-o 5f-6f winner Baitha Alga. Stable in good form. 16,000 euros Zoustar filly, half-sister to two moderate winners, probably best watched. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) ![]() Woodlea |
400/1(-300%) | (14) Woodlea 400/1, Once-raced filly. 80/1, last of 20 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, soft) on debut 7 days ago, missing break. Best watched. Huge odds and never figured on debut at the Curragh, opposable. |
BAY COLONY had a couple of nice runs in stakes company last season and if running up to her mark of 89, she's the one to beat. The New Bay filly ran a solid race when fifth to Dreamy in a Group 3 at the Curragh on her final start last season. This softer ground is an unknown, though. Wannabe Royal has a recent run under belt at Dundalk when second to Spicy Margarita. She has a bit to find on ratings but fitness is a big plus at this time of year. The Ballydoyle filly Guarded was mid-division on her sole start last season and is the potential improver in the field.
BAY COLONY acquitted herself well in graded company last term and gets the nod in what should prove an informative maiden. Guarded and Wannabe Royal head the list of dangers.
The top rated BAY COLONY could improve plenty for testing conditions and she gets the nod.

1st (5) ![]() Trinity College |
10/11(+27%) | (5) Trinity College 10/11, Superbly-bred colt who took a huge step forward in first-time blinkers when winning a Galway maiden (8.5f) in September. Acquitted himself well in better company on final 2 starts and looks the one to beat here, Top rated, placed in a Group 3 on soft over 1m1f, shorter trip fine, leading chance. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Acapulco Bay |
5/2(+9%) | (1) Acapulco Bay 5/2, Off the mark at second time of asking in 12-runner maiden at the Curragh (8f, good, 2/11) in August and looks a likely improver this season. Off the mark in second maiden at the Curragh, soft ground a query, chance if handles it. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Green Triangle |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Green Triangle 16/1, Fairly useful gelding. 12¼ lengths last of 4 to Green Impact in Champions Juvenile Stakes (15/2) at Leopardstown (8f, good), not running on. Off 6 months. Looks yard second string judged on jockey bookings. Maiden winner, ran well in a Listed, testing ground a query, a bit to find; gelded. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) ![]() One Smack Mac |
10/1(-43%) | (4) One Smack Mac 10/1, Maiden winner here in May and improved on that when good second in Fairyhouse listed race (6f) last September. Disappointed on softer ground at Leopardstown on final start but must enter calculations here. Won debut here over 6f on good, struggled sole start on soft, up in trip, others preferred. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) ![]() Dignam |
25/1(-150%) | (2) Dignam 25/1, Fairly useful colt. 7/2, fourteenth of 16 in minor event at this course (7f, good to soft). Off 161 days. Not out of things. Maiden winner at Tipperary, struggled upped in class since, soft ground an unknown, watch. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() Diamond Exchange |
13/2(+46%) | (7) Diamond Exchange 13/2, Once-raced maiden. Sixth of 14 in minor event at the Curragh (7f, good to soft, 16/1) on debut, never nearer. Off 176 days. Potential improver. Midfield in the Goffs Millions on debut, needs to improve but that's possible. |
The regally-bred TRINITY COLLEGE should be able to make a winning return here. The son of Dubawi and dual Guineas winner Hermosa was runner-up in Group 3 company at Leopardstown when last seen in October and could be a classic contender if coming through this. The main danger is probably his stablemate Acapulco Bay. He's another Dubawi colt and was impressive when winning a Curragh maiden on his second outing in late August. Like the selection he holds several classic entries. One Smack Mac disappointed on his final start of last season but had shown a nice level of ability previously and may be capable of better.
TRINITY COLLEGE sets the standard on his juvenile form and can make a winning reappearance in the finale. One Smack Mac and Acapulco Bay may provide the chief threat.
Aidan O'Brien holds a strong hand here with TRINITY COLLEGE and Acapulco Bay with ready preference for the former.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
