13:48 Market Rasen Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GALE MAHLER makes her hurdling bow after a pair of bumper victories at Southwell and Kelso. The five-year-old has progressed with each start and may prove a tough nut to crack again, especially now moving up in distance. Trudie Glen is capable of stepping forward from her first attempt over timber when runner-up at Southwell, while Stuti and Brave Jen are others worth considering.

GALE MAHLER was talented enough to win a couple of bumpers and, taking on her own sex now hurdling, she has plenty to recommend her. Trudie Glen and Stuti have already displayed ability over obstacles and they look the chief threats.

Preference is for dual bumper winner GALE MAHLER, who could have a good future over jumps. Stuti is second choice.

14:18 Market Rasen Handicap Chase (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A drop in trip worked extremely well for The Electrician, who ran out a wide-margin winner over C&D last month. That said, a 9lb rise surely makes things tougher and a less exposed rival in the shape of IMPERIAL RULE may take advantage. The seven-year-old didn't feature at all in three runs over hurdles before looking a different proposition on his chasing debut at Perth, and he is more than capable of improving again from that victory. Unwanted Attention and Ribeye appeal most of the remainder.

IMPERIAL RULE created an excellent impression when making a winning chase/handicap debut at Perth 3 weeks ago and can defy a 4 lb rise. Ribeye is worth another chance to confirm he's back in form and is next best ahead of chase-debutant Didnt Ask.

Irish point winner MOVES LIKE MONTY is very unexposed under rules and ought to benefit from this move back up in trip. He gets the nod.

14:48 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUPREME YEATS made the ideal start for Dan Skelton with a comfortable victory at Stratford last weekend and may prove tough to beat under a 7lb penalty. The handicapper reacted by putting him up the same amount as the penalty and it won't be a major surprise if he is capable of running up a sequence in the coming weeks. Summergrounds has to be a threat following last month's C&D success along with the runner-up from that contest, Misty Mani.

A competitive handicap but it's hard to side against Dan Skelton's new recruit SUPREME YEATS who still looks ahead of his mark under a 4 lb penalty for his stylish Stratford success. C&D scorer Summergrounds heads the list of dangers, although a good case can also be made for course-winners Misty Mani and Kosasiempre and in-form duo My Portia and Boot' N' Shoe.

The verdict goes to BOOT 'N' SHOE, who was placed in a big field on last month's handicap debut at Kelso and may still have potential.

15:18 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having finished a respectable second on his return to hurdles at Fakenham last weekend, STAR LEGEND makes plenty of appeal on this quick turnaround. Promising claimer Ciaran O'Shea takes off a handy 7lb, which could prove pivotal in an open contest. The biggest threat may emerge from If Karl's Berg Did, who made an encouraging stable/seasonal bow when third at Uttoxeter. The consistent Awesome Foursome is also likely to be on the premises.

STAR LEGEND returned from the Flat with an excellent effort at Fakenham last time and he's the most appealing in a thin race. The reliable Awesome Foursome is a threat and Copper Fox isn't without a chance.

Having shaped well on his recent reappearance, IF KARL'S BERG DID is taken to beat Sunday's Fakenham runner-up Star Legend.

(3) Everyonesgame 40/1, Won 3 times for Charlie Longsdon in 2023, including a Class 2 Worcester handicap last June. Well held both subsequent starts and 7-month absence to overcome (undergone a second wind op in the interim) but it's worth noting that he scored on the back of a break/wind op on his reappearance last year.
Promising novice in early part of last season; makes stable debut after a break.

15:48 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Having posted a career-best performance when landing a competitive 17-runner affair at Sandown at the end of April, Ike Sport cannot be taken lightly on his current upward trajectory. However, an 11lb hike could be enough to prevent him from following up, with ALL THE GLORY edging the vote. The Jonjo O'Neill-trained mare looks to have more to come over this distance and she can put a fall in the Swinton at Haydock behind her. Pyramid Place and Hecouldbetheone are also noted.

The vote goes to A LAW OF HER OWN, who shaped well on her second start for this yard at Hexham recently and she should have races in her off this sort of mark. Everyonesgame is interesting back from a break/wind op given that he made a winning reappearance under similar circumstances last year. Emma Lavelle's charge is second choice ahead of All The Glory, Hecouldbetheone and Pyramid Place.

Bottomweight BALLYGEARY got back on track with a good effort last month and remains well handicapped on early-2024 form.

16:20 Market Rasen Handicap Chase (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ISHOLO DU VIVIEN was having only his second outing over the larger obstacles when scoring easily at Stratford. Donald McCain's charge can shrug off a penalty and go in again in this company. Beauty To Behold has gone close over hurdles on more than one occasion and her rider's 7lb allowance helps her cause. She makes more appeal than Don Occhetti and Uncle Mac of those chasing for the first time.

ISHOLO DU VIVIEN left his chase debut form well behind when running out an authoritative winner of a 7-runner handicap chase from the front at Stratford 6 days ago and the manner of that success suggests he can make a bold bid to defy a penalty. Others with chase experience have something to prove so the principal dangers could emerge in the shape of Beauty To Behold, Conquer The Breeze and Don Occhetti.

The stand-out is ISHOLO DU VIVIEN (nap), who made it second-time lucky over fences with a dominant display at Stratford last week.

16:50 Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GERARD MENTOR finished a creditable fourth at Ludlow last time and that race is working out well, with the winner going in again and the runner-up subsequently scoring at Fontwell. Albert Park hasn't done too badly since going handicapping and can figure, while Cofficionado posted a better effort on his handicap debut and cannot be left out of calculations. Cher Tara is fancied to improve from her own handicap bow.

It could be worth chancing GERARD MENTOR, who has dropped to a handy mark and showed signs of a return to form at Ludlow last time. Cofficionado and Cher Tara rate the principal dangers.

The suggestion is ALBERT PARK, who is now 2lb lower than when placed on his handicap debut at Kempton in April.
