1st (1) (5.5/1 -83%) Bizzy Moon |
5.5/1(-83%) | (1) Bizzy Moon 5.5/1, Half-sister to useful hurdler Molly Ollys Wishes and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Olly The Brave. 25/1, green in Chepstow bumper in November. Yard have enjoyed success with this family and this isn't a strong race she begins over hurdles in.
2nd (7) (3/1 -20%) Three Macks |
3/1(-20%) | (7) Three Macks 3/1, Fair maiden on the Flat up to 7f for Andrew Oliver and has taken to hurdling pretty well for new yard, no extra only from 2 out having taken a clear lead at Wincanton last month. Could be the way to go.
3rd (2) (2/1 -14%) Bushtucker Park |
2/1(-14%) | (2) Bushtucker Park 2/1, Shaped like a stayer in a bumper and given a considerate introduction to hurdling after 9 weeks off back at Huntingdon recently. Open to improvement and this isn't a strong race.
4th (6) (22/1 +33%) Miss Blennerhasset |
22/1(+33%) | (6) Miss Blennerhasset 22/1, Fair maiden on Flat for Ralph Beckett. Offered little sent hurdling after 7 months off at Sedgefield a fortnight ago.
5th (4) (40/1 -60%) Diana Prince |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Diana Prince 40/1, Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Talktomenow (3m-3¼m winner, by Shirocco). Winning pointer, failed to complete last 3 starts (latest Mar 6). Suspect she'll need more time over jumps.
|PU| (5) (3/1 +79%) Princess Poppy |
3/1(+79%) | (5) Princess Poppy 3/1, Held in bumper/Exeter mares' maiden hurdle for Gary Moore. Likely to need more time.
|PU| (3) (14/1 +65%) Courtney Silver |
14/1(+65%) | (3) Courtney Silver 14/1, Modest form at best in bumpers, albeit probably flattered in listed race at Huntingdon on debut. Work to do now hurdling. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
THREE MACKS improved from first to second start when not beaten too far into fourth at Wincanton last month, and this appeals as an ideal opportunity to get her head in front. Charlie Longsdon's filly gets the vote ahead of Bushtucker Park, who was a promising third at Huntingdon on her hurdles debut, and her stablemate Princess Poppy on her first run for this yard.
A race which is unlikely to take much winning and THREE MACKS looks the way to go having shown plenty again from the front under her young rider at Wincanton. Bizzy Moon, from a family the Skelton yard has done well with, is very interesting in this company. Bushtucker Park could also figure.
The suggestion is THREE MACKS who ran well enough last time out at Wincanton to suggest she can win a race like this.

Glenton |
(3) (150/1 +0%)150/1(+0%) | (3) Glenton 150/1, Showed a bit when fifth to School Days Over in a course bumper last spring but no show in 2 hurdles at Southwell since.
1st (7) (1.38/1 +0%) Saladam |
1.38/1(+0%) | (7) Saladam 1.38/1, Runner-up sole start in Irish points and has filled the same position 3 times over hurdles this winter. Has had wind surgery since his latest outing at Ayr in February. Looks sure to be bang there for a yard which does so well here.
2nd (1) (4/1 +11%) A Definite Getaway |
4/1(+11%) | (1) A Definite Getaway 4/1, Fair maiden hurdler, finishing a respectable 17 lengths second of 13 at Chepstow (19.5f, good to soft) 6 weeks ago. Each-way claims.
3rd (6) (10/1 +0%) Night Duty |
10/1(+0%) | (6) Night Duty 10/1, £65,000 buy after winning his sole point in May 2021 but it's taken a while for new connections to get him to the track and School Days Over has to be considered the yard's first string unless the betting strongly suggests otherwise.
4th (8) (1.88/1 -15%) School Days Over |
1.88/1(-15%) | (8) School Days Over 1.88/1, Looked a useful prospect in bumpers, winning here last spring before second in Cheltenham listed in November. Best run over hurdles when second in 2m Doncaster novice in February. That form gives him a big shout and there may be more to come now stepping back up in trip.
5th (4) (28/1 -40%) Mahler Moon |
28/1(-40%) | (4) Mahler Moon 28/1, Well held in 2 bumpers. Did show a bit when 14 lengths last of 5 on his recent Warwick hurdle debut but he's probably more of a longer-term prospect.
6th (10) (18/1 +28%) The Wild Westerner |
18/1(+28%) | (10) The Wild Westerner 18/1, Landed a course bumper for Laura Morgan in May 2021. Off 19 months, showed he retains ability when third on hurdle/yard debut here in December but went backwards from that when a remote fourth at Southwell since. Has had wind surgery.
7th (11) (300/1 -50%) Notbitterbutbetter |
300/1(-50%) | (11) Notbitterbutbetter 300/1, Showed a bit on the first of 2 bumper starts for Anthony Honeyball last year but no show in 2 hurdles since, latterly for this yard here.
8th (2) (100/1 -203%) Bad Attitude |
100/1(-203%) | (2) Bad Attitude 100/1, Fair Flat winner. Remote fifth in 2m Southwell novice hurdle last month (only start for Charles and Adam Pogson). Has joined a good stable but probably of more interest once handicapping.
|PU| (5) (250/1 +0%) Medicine Wheel |
250/1(+0%) | (5) Medicine Wheel 250/1, Well beaten in bumpers and pulled up in 2 hurdles in recent months. Big outsider.
|RO| (9) (250/1 -25%) Smart Connection |
250/1(-25%) | (9) Smart Connection 250/1, Fair at best on Flat for Alice Haynes but no show on the Flat for this yard. 300/1 when unseating at the first on his hurdle debut in January. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Runner-up on his last three outings, SALADAM deserves a change in luck and the step back up in trip can see him get off the mark at the fifth time of asking under Rules. The Olly Murphy stable is in fine form and the six-year-old is preferred to School Days Over, who has the potential to improve over further, and A Definite Getaway.
SCHOOL DAYS OVER returns to the scene of his bumper win last spring and is taken to make it fourth time lucky over hurdles, most likely at the expense of Olly Murphy's Saladam. A Definite Getaway looks best of the remainder unless the betting speaks in the favour of the selection's stablemate Night Duty, who has been off for nearly 2 years since his point win.
Although SALADAM is maintaining his form, rather than improving on it, he is reliable and perhaps wind surgery will make life easier.

1st (1) (7/1 +50%) Grasse D'Oliverie |
7/1(+50%) | (1) Grasse D'Oliverie 7/1, Wide-margin winner of a mares' hurdle at Cagnes-sur-Mer a year ago but not at the same level since, though she did step up on her reappearance effort after 10 weeks off when fifth at Southwell (20.4f, soft) last month.
2nd (9) (3/1 -71%) Emily Wade |
3/1(-71%) | (9) Emily Wade 3/1, Just modest form at best in bumpers (for Tjade Collier) but confirmed the promise of her handicap debut stepped up in trip to open her account at Southwell (20.4f, soft) just under 3 weeks ago. Looks capable of better still so she's high on the shortlist.
3rd (5) (14/1 +30%) Denable |
14/1(+30%) | (5) Denable 14/1, Showed improved form over hurdles when opening his account in novice handicap at Worcester in July and followed up at Uttoxeter 6 weeks later. Not so good on both starts this year though, so has a bit to prove now.
4th (4) (2/1 +33%) Erigmoor |
2/1(+33%) | (4) Erigmoor 2/1, Promise in novice/maiden hurdles and probably improved switched to a handicap when runner-up at Warwick (16f, soft) 4 weeks ago. Upped to 2½m for the first time and that could unlock further progress.
5th (10) (150/1 -50%) Isla Diamonds |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Isla Diamonds 150/1, Little solid form in bumpers/novice hurdles and on the Flat. Easily passed over from well out of the weights on handicap debut.
6th (2) (7.5/1 +17%) Kajaki |
7.5/1(+17%) | (2) Kajaki 7.5/1, Pair of Sedgefield wins in 2022 but not at his best in 3 starts since, failing to convince on his first try at around 3m at Musselburgh 7 weeks ago. Dropped to a handy mark as a result so would be dangerous to discount.
7th (3) (7/1 +13%) Rory And Me |
7/1(+13%) | (3) Rory And Me 7/1, Finally got off the mark over hurdles in 6-runner maiden at this track in June but has failed to make a meaningful impact in a couple of handicaps since. Will need to hit the ground running after 5 months off is he's to feature.
|F| (6) (28/1 -133%) Ebendi |
28/1(-133%) | (6) Ebendi 28/1, Fairly useful Flat performer for Joseph O'Brien and standout effort for this yard when seventh of 11 at Carlisle in February. Stepped up in distance for handicap debut but needs to get back on track.
|U| (8) (40/1 -186%) Miss Solitaire |
40/1(-186%) | (8) Miss Solitaire 40/1, First sign of ability, albeit possibly flattered, when fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (19.3f) in February. However, she showed nothing on handicap debut at Southwell recently and hopes are pinned on first-time cheekpieces.
|PU| (7) (8.5/1 +58%) Poetria |
8.5/1(+58%) | (7) Poetria 8.5/1, Modest form over hurdles so far and offered little after 4 months off at Newcastle last month. Hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Now that the penny has dropped for EMILY WADE after a comfortable success at Southwell, there should be plenty more to come from the daughter of Lucky Speed as she looks to overcome a 5lb rise. Erigmoor produced a career-best effort when second at Wincanton last month and he looks to be her main danger, ahead of the capable Rory And Me.
EMILY WADE had a bit up her sleeve when opening her account over a longer trip at Southwell just under 3 weeks ago, and with better still to come, Sam England's charge is fancied to make light of a 5 lb rise in the weights and follow up. Erigmoor improved for the switch to a handicap when runner-up at Warwick 4 weeks ago, but he may have to settle for silver once again, with 10-y-o Kajaki rounding off the shortlist.
This can go to EMILY WADE who was running in only her second handicap when successfully upped in trip at Southwell.

1st (1) (7.5/1 -7%) Blue Bikini |
7.5/1(-7%) | (1) Blue Bikini 7.5/1, Landed 19f handicap hurdle at Taunton but only fifth of 7 in handicap at Plumpton (20.5f, good to soft) 41 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
2nd (7) (1.75/1 +7%) Having A Barney |
1.75/1(+7%) | (7) Having A Barney 1.75/1, On the up since sent handicapping and opened his account in 8-runner handicap hurdle at Ayr (20.4f, good) 30 days ago, keeping on gamely. Weighted to go close again despite 4 lb rise.
3rd (2) (1.88/1 +69%) Minella Choice |
1.88/1(+69%) | (2) Minella Choice 1.88/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable third of 8 in novice here (18.6f, soft) 28 days ago. Not ruled out on his handicap debut.
4th (6) (5.5/1 +21%) Dellboy Trotter |
5.5/1(+21%) | (6) Dellboy Trotter 5.5/1, Dual C&D winner who was in decent order when last seen out, fourth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (25f, good) 180 days ago. Not discounted after a break.
5th (4) (125/1 +0%) Magna Moralia |
125/1(+0%) | (4) Magna Moralia 125/1, Fair 1m4f Flat winner last April. Little impact for new yard back hurdling though and much more is required here.
6th (9) (20/1 +80%) Dakota Beat |
20/1(+80%) | (9) Dakota Beat 20/1, Winner of a Perth maiden hurdle for Gavin Cromwell in July 2021 but has yet to shine for present yard. Hard to warm to.
7th (3) (9/1 +25%) Royle Steel |
9/1(+25%) | (3) Royle Steel 9/1, Fair 2m winner. Back on track when third at Catterick in February but beat only one at Doncaster following month. Others appeal more.
|PU| (8) (50/1 +24%) Sight Nor Seen |
50/1(+24%) | (8) Sight Nor Seen 50/1, Fair hurdler/chaser in Ireland at his best but has shown little in 6 starts over hurdles/fences for present connections. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
In not the strongest of contests, preference is for the Mark Walford-trained HAVING A BARNEY. He kept on well to score over a similar trip at Ayr last month and can have another big say in proceedings off 4lb higher. Dellboy Trotter was last seen finishing a disappointing fourth over 3m1f at Huntingdon in October last year and could bounce back, while Minella Choice also warrants a market check.
HAVING A BARNEY is on the up since sent handicapping and also displayed a good attitude when getting off the mark at Ayr last time so can defy a 4 lb weight rise. Secret Trix didn't enjoy the rub of the green when third at Lingfield and is next on the list, with dual C&D winner Dellboy Trotter not ruled out either after a break.
The unexposed MINELLA CHOICE, a creditable third in a novice hurdle here last time, is taken to get off the mark on his handicap debut.

1st (3) (2/1 -100%) Snowy Clouds |
2/1(-100%) | (3) Snowy Clouds 2/1, Has quickly made up into a better chaser than hurdler, making it 2 wins from 3 starts over fences when successful in handicap at Catterick in February. Could still have more to offer and is the one to beat in this contest.
2nd (6) (2.25/1 +63%) We'll Go Again |
2.25/1(+63%) | (6) We'll Go Again 2.25/1, Made winning start for this yard in maiden hurdle at Market Rasen last summer. Rather in and out since, never dangerous when ninth of 12 in handicap at Kelso (20.9f) 15 days ago. Makes chase debut.
3rd (2) (14/1 +22%) Sayar |
14/1(+22%) | (2) Sayar 14/1, Ended long losing run in handicap hurdle at Wetherby in March last year, but tailed off at Warwick when last seen a month later. Offered little in 2 starts over fences back in 2020/21, so others preferred as he returns after 11 months off.
4th (1) (6/1 -33%) Out On The Tear |
6/1(-33%) | (1) Out On The Tear 6/1, Won handicap at Catterick in December last season and has finished in the first 3 on all 5 starts since. However, wasted a good opportunity when runner-up at Ayr last time having been left clear at the last. Can give his running again, though.
|PU| (4) (5.5/1 +0%) Fabrique En France |
5.5/1(+0%) | (4) Fabrique En France 5.5/1, Off the mark over fences in handicap at Worcester in June but hasn't gone on as hoped since. Some encouragement after 7 months off when third at Uttoxeter in February, but not in the same form next time. Could fare better now back down in trip.
|PU| (5) (9/1 +50%) Rooster Cogburn |
9/1(+50%) | (5) Rooster Cogburn 9/1, Having dropped below his last winning mark, took full advantage when making all in handicap at Hereford in February. However, has lost his form quickly since, pulled on on both subsequent outings. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Out On The Tear has been knocking on the door of late and must hold every chance of building on his most recent second at Ayr, especially given Toby Wynne knocks 5lb off the gelding's back with his claim. However, SNOWY CLOUDS caught the eye when bolting up over an extended 1m7f at Catterick in February and is expected to be thereabouts off 8lb higher, despite stepping up in class. Fabrique En France is another of interest.
SNOWY CLOUDS resumed his progress when making it 2 wins from 3 starts over fences at Catterick in February, scoring hard held albeit he was left clear early on, and the 7-y-o is open to further progress as a chaser. He can score again, with Out On The Tear the one who can give the selection most to think about. Fabrique En France is the pick of the remainder.
There are a few questions to answer in this field and SNOWY CLOUDS (nap) looks the most solid option.

1st (1) (2/1 +20%) Jay Jay Reilly |
2/1(+20%) | (1) Jay Jay Reilly 2/1, Did remarkably well to overcome a bad late error and score in a Kempton novice handicap in February. Out of depth in Grade 2 there on next start but highly respected back on these terms.
2nd (4) (5/1 +17%) Great Heart'jac |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Great Heart'jac 5/1, Irish point winner has landed pair of small-field events at Leicester this term, not having to come off the bridle against a pair of out-of-form rivals. Tougher test here but his overall profile is positive.
3rd (2) (6.5/1 -225%) Stormin Crossgales |
6.5/1(-225%) | (2) Stormin Crossgales 6.5/1, Signed off last term with Wincanton maiden hurdle success and went in at the first time of asking over fences there in November. Bit too fresh on return from break at Kempton last time and may do better still.
|F| (3) (1.25/1 +44%) Ballybreeze |
1.25/1(+44%) | (3) Ballybreeze 1.25/1, Looked a nice prospect when making a successful start over fences in a 2m Chepstow novice handicap in October. Very stiff task in the Arkle last time but remains open to improvement at this more realistic level. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
With just the four runners lining up for this contest, JAY JAY REILLY gets the vote dropping in both distance and grade. He struggled over an extended 2m4f at Kempton in a Grade 2 contest in February and this seems a more suitable assignment for him. Great Heart'Jac was a comfortable winner over 2m at Leicester, also in February, and should not be dismissed up in class. Ballybreeze completes the shortlist.
Sound cases can be made for each of the quartet here, but JAY JAY REILLY makes most appeal from a mark just 3 lb higher than for his miraculous Kempton win. Ballybreeze was flying too high in the Arkle last month but merits respect back in this grade, whilst Stormin Crossgales and Great Heart'jac both have plenty to like about them in a strong-looking race for the grade.
A case can be made for all four of these but preference is for topweight JAY JAY REILLY who drops in class and still has potential.

1.88/1(+16%) | (6) Betty Baloo 1.88/1, Dual bumper/hurdles scorer who accounted for next-time-out winner Credo in a mares' handicap at Catterick in February. Matched that form when runner-up back there later in the month and she looks the one to beat.
2nd (5) (5/1 +23%) Eclair De Guye |
5/1(+23%) | (5) Eclair De Guye 5/1, Good form in regional Nationals around the turn of the year but pulled up at Bangor and didn't travel with any fluency at Warwick. Blinkers replace cheekpieces.
3rd (7) (7/1 +42%) Who's In The Box |
7/1(+42%) | (7) Who's In The Box 7/1, Snapped a long losing run with cheekpieces refitted when proving 2¾ lengths for Aire Valley Lad at Carlisle (24.5f) in February. Failed miserably to back that effort up at Sedgefield.
4th (4) (3/1 -50%) Animal |
3/1(-50%) | (4) Animal 3/1, Confirmed he's back in top form when doubling tally over fences at Kempton 3 weeks ago. Not yet fully exposed over 3m and a bold follow-up bid is on the cards.
|PU| (1) (7.5/1 -50%) Calipso Collonges |
7.5/1(-50%) | (1) Calipso Collonges 7.5/1, Returned with a pair of solid efforts at Warwick/Market Rasen (at up to 27.5f) last year prior to producing a rare below-par effort when pulled up at Ayr (21.5f) in February. No surprise to see him bounce back with blinkers now replacing usual cheekpieces.
|PU| (2) (9/1 +25%) Orrisdale |
9/1(+25%) | (2) Orrisdale 9/1, Developed into a useful chaser last term, signing off with a couple of small-field victories in 21f handicaps at Hereford. No show so far this season, though.
|PU| (3) (33/1 -18%) Pat's Pick |
33/1(-18%) | (3) Pat's Pick 33/1, Successful on his sole bumper start but remains winless over obstacles, pulling up on stable debut having made a bad mistake at Doncaster last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BETTY BALOO handled these fences well on her only previous visit to this course and, having proven her stamina with a good second over 3m1f at Catterick 40 days ago, she could go one better. Tim Easterby's mare was well supported in the betting that day and another big run is expected with trip and ground to suit. Animal has a good record over fences and joins the first-time blinkered Eclair De Guye on the shortlist.
BETTY BALOO cemented an excellent start to her chasing career when second at Catterick and, now back from a short break, she looks the way to go. Animal isn't fully exposed over 3m and is feared most.
Recent form points to this being between Animal and BETTY BALOO, with the latter having less to prove if the ground turns good.

4.5/1(-29%) | (1) Bhaloo 4.5/1, Shaped very well indeed when a strong-finishing fourth in 2m Kempton bumper (good to soft) last March. Absent since (has undergone a wind op in the interim) but he's open to improvement and merits respect in a first-time tongue strap.
2nd (2) (11/1 -10%) Rockstown Native |

1.25/1(-51%) | (4) Take No Chances 1.25/1, Off mark in Irish points at second attempt and duly showed plenty of ability when second to good prospect in bumper at Exeter (16.7f, soft) in December. Not disgraced when third over C&D 2 months ago and should take all the beating.

8th (8) (250/1 -150%) Matoury |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Matoury 250/1, Hasn't shown much in two runs to date and others make more appeal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TAKE NO CHANCES, who swapped hands for 95,000 pounds after she won and Irish point-to-point, has posted two respectable efforts in bumpers since joining Dan Skelton and offers strong appeal in her bid to make it third-time lucky. The daughter of Milan has valuable course experience and is an interesting prospect going forward. Rockstown Native also won between the flags prior to joining Jonjo O'Neill and is going the right way. Kandor completes the shortlist.
TAKE NO CHANCES sets the standard and should be able to open his account at the third attempt. Bhaloo has been off the track more than a year since an encouraging debut but he's still worthy of respect, while Kandor looks a notable Rules newcomer having won a point.
Preference is for BHALOO, who was fourth in a strong race at Kempton in March last year, ahead of the promising Take No Chances.
Ths is the racecard key.
