1st (2) (7/4 +7%) Carrigmoorna Rowan |
7/4(+7%) | (2) Carrigmoorna Rowan 7/4, Off mark in Irish points at second attempt and shaped with promise on the first of 2 outings in bumpers. Has also showed ability plenty of ability over hurdles and, while a bit underwhelming at Exeter last time, he sets the standard. The form pick; tongue tied in attempt to bounce back from a heavy defeat on latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (9/4 +50%) New Order |
9/4(+50%) | (12) New Order 9/4, Got off the mark in Irish points at second attempt and posted a promising second of 10 in novice hurdle at Lingfield. Yet to build on that and but return to this distance should help. Beaten a neck on hurdling debut but made two backward steps since; tongue-tie is enlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (18/1 -29%) Hartington |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Hartington 18/1, Signs of ability in bumpers but will probably come on for this initial experience of hurdling, so others are more persuasive. Significant ability in bumpers at Exeter and Warwick but marked improvement will be needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (9/2 +0%) Rumoursareflying |
9/2(+0%) | (13) Rumoursareflying 9/2, Down the field in bumpers but has run to a fair level over hurdles, again runner-up in a 9-runner contest at Fakenham last time. One to consider. Second at Southwell (heavy) and Fakenham (good) and this longer trip is worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (300/1 -100%) Scottish King |
300/1(-100%) | (14) Scottish King 300/1, €1,000 3-y-o, Imperial Monarch gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Mahlers Dollar. Maiden pointer, unplaced last time (Jan 2023). Nothing out of the ordinary in his four points for Stephen Wiles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (9/2 +0%) Land Genie |
9/2(+0%) | (8) Land Genie 9/2, Half-brother to Constitution Hill who made a winning start to his career in Huntingdon bumper last spring. Ran with promise in a couple of completed outings novice hurdles this term, so makes the shortlist. His form is nothing special and he fell last time, but others in this can be questioned. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (80/1 -400%) Jingle Du Gouet |
80/1(-400%) | (5) Jingle Du Gouet 80/1, €18,000 3-y-o, £28,000 5-y-o, Cokoriko gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdlers Hermes du Gouet, stays 21f, and Inzeo du Gouet. Successful on the second of 2 starts in points (Jan 14). 2nd and 1st in his two British points for Chris Barber, before sold for £28,000 in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (125/1 -279%) Looking Splendid |
125/1(-279%) | (9) Looking Splendid 125/1, Didn't show much in bumpers and only fifth in a novice at Kelso on hurdling debut. More one for handicaps. Showed some ability on first and latest starts but a good deal more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (300/1 -200%) Hope Hill |
300/1(-200%) | (4) Hope Hill 300/1, Well beaten in bumpers and yet to show much over hurdles. Hasn't shown a great deal in his two bumpers or two novice hurdles; upped from 2m1f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (150/1 -50%) Bombay Sunset |
150/1(-50%) | (1) Bombay Sunset 150/1, Second in point bumper (May 2022) but well beaten in a couple of bumpers/over hurdles. 2nd in a British point but poor form in his two bumpers and two 2m5f/2m4f maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (100/1 -614%) Kaltender |
100/1(-614%) | (7) Kaltender 100/1, No encouragement at first attempt over hurdles at Southwell but he is at least bred to do better. 10-1, remote last of three finishers in five-runner novice at Southwell (2m5f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (16/1 -357%) Jukebox Fury |
16/1(-357%) | (6) Jukebox Fury 16/1, Related to several winners but offered nothing when pulled up at Doncaster on hurdling debut 49 days ago. Could show more after a break. 4-1 for debut seven weeks ago but pulled up; stable has had recent health problems. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (11) (300/1 -50%) Madra Morjohn |
300/1(-50%) | (11) Madra Morjohn 300/1, No promise as yet over hurdles. Triple-figure odds when tailed off or pulled up in a bumper and two maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (10) (300/1 -100%) Lord Warburton |
300/1(-100%) | (10) Lord Warburton 300/1, Modest at best on Flat (stays 1½m) and, having left Mark Campion, showed nothing over C&D on hurdling debut 10 days ago. Modest Flat form, best of it at 1m4f; 200-1, tailed off on stable/hurdles debut over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (300/1 -100%) Cloneyhurke Maid |
300/1(-100%) | (15) Cloneyhurke Maid 300/1, Made the frame both completed starts in Irish points a few years ago but offered little on recent Ayr hurdle debut after a long absence. 2nd in Irish maiden point; 200-1, tailed off in 2m4f novice at Ayr after a mammoth absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
RUMOURSAREFLYING has filled the runner-up spot at Southwell and Fakenham, giving the impression that a step up in trip might see him in a better light. In a contest lacking much on depth on paper, Pam Sly's six-year-old is taken to come out on top. Land Genie is expected to bounce back from a Chepstow fall on his return from a break, while it wouldn't be a surprise if Jukebox Fury, a half-brother to Don Poli, left behind his debut effort at Doncaster, especially with that performance coming when the yard's runners were under a cloud.
CARRIGMOORNA ROWAN shaped with plenty of encouragement on his first two starts over hurdles and his latest effort is best excused, so he's worth chancing to open his account in this sphere at the possible expense of New Order. Land Genie is likely to be on the premises, too.
Widespread questions to answer. With RUMOURSAREFLYING it's his stamina over a new trip but he still gets the vote.

She's A Rocca |
(7) (25/1 -355%)25/1(-355%) | (7) She's A Rocca 25/1, Back on scoreboard in first-time cheekpieces when landing 6-runner handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, good to soft) in October. Just 3 lb higher now but this is more competitive. Finished well to score in first-time cheekpieces in October; not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (8) (4/1 +60%) Mr Hope Street |
4/1(+60%) | (8) Mr Hope Street 4/1, No impact in maiden/novice hurdles and was still in need of the experience when well held on handicap debut at Ludlow last time. Upped in trip. Always behind when 22-1 for handicap debut; moves up from 2m today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/2 -83%) Dexperado |
11/2(-83%) | (9) Dexperado 11/2, Down the field in a bumper and failed to make any impact in novice hurdles. Bred to be better than this sort of mark and upped in trip (fitted with cheekpieces), he showed more when runner-up on handicap debut over C&D 21 days ago, sticking to the task. Big player. Ran game race in defeat over C&D on recent handicap debut; likely contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (28/1 -100%) Paramaribo |
28/1(-100%) | (10) Paramaribo 28/1, Showed more than previously over hurdles when placed in a couple of handicaps at up to 24.3f for Iain Jardine in early 2023. Opened his account in points last month so won't be found wanting for fitness on this return to Rules. Dug deep to win a point last month and is still unexposed over hurdles; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -100%) Long Draw |
6/1(-100%) | (1) Long Draw 6/1, £60,000 Irish point recruit who shaped well when third of 14 in 19f Taunton novice hurdle on Rules debut in October, finishing with running left. Disappointed at Southwell (20.4f, heavy) 10 weeks later but is worth another chance back under less testing conditions now switched to a handicap. Very unexposed 5yo; disappointed on latest outing but his rules debut was promising. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (14/1 +30%) Hawkseye View |
14/1(+30%) | (2) Hawkseye View 14/1, Successful sole completed start in points and placed twice over hurdles but the form is nothing flash and he ran poorly in a 21f handicap at Wetherby on his most recent outing. Just a respectable fourth on handicap debut in February, and tailed off since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/3 +58%) The Midwife |
10/3(+58%) | (6) The Midwife 10/3, Point winner who showed improved form under Rules when striking on her handicap over C&D in February. A shade disappointing at Taunton subsequently but could bounce back. C&D winner on handicap debut; may have found 3m on soft ground too taxing last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (33/1 -267%) Fox's Socks |
33/1(-267%) | (11) Fox's Socks 33/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2021 but ran one of this season's better races when second of 9 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Southwell (24.3f, soft) 68 days ago. Needs to back that up now. Kept on well for modest second on latest outing but overall profile not that appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/1 -13%) Rickety Gate |
9/1(-13%) | (5) Rickety Gate 9/1, Won pair of handicaps in autumn 2022 and placed 3 times this season. Better than he could show under a very inexperienced jockey at Doncaster last time. Each-way claims. Not at best last time but has possibilities if judged on autumn form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (33/1 -32%) Play By The Rules |
33/1(-32%) | (3) Play By The Rules 33/1, Hasn't fired so far this season and a handful were going better than him when running out at the end of the back straight at Taunton on most recent outing. In front and seemingly in process of running well before running out on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (5/1 +75%) Golden Ambition |
5/1(+75%) | (4) Golden Ambition 5/1, Promise on 2 of his 3 starts in novice/maiden hurdles but failed to improve for switch to handicap company at Kempton and jumped sketchily when pulled up in first-time cheekpieces at Warwick since. Others more persuasive. Remains lightly raced but has made a disappointing start to his handicap career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (125/1 -279%) Wherewouldugetit |
125/1(-279%) | (13) Wherewouldugetit 125/1, C&D winner who was pulled up at Wetherby when last seen in March 2022. 4 lb out of the weights on this return to action and can only be watched. Won over C&D in 2021 but is 4lb wrong on this first start for over two years. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DEXPERADO went close on his handicap debut over C&D when benefiting from a step up in trip and the five-year-old is more than capable of building on that display, even with a 4lb higher mark. Long Draw would be a major threat if reproducing the performance that carried him into third at Taunton in December, while others for the shortlist include She's A Rocca, a winner at Southwell in October, and Mr Hope Street.
DEXPERADO took a big step forward in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up on his handicap debut over C&D 3 weeks ago and is the percentage call to go one better. Long Draw perhaps found the heavy ground against him at Southwell and is worth another chance back under less testing conditions, with Rickety Gate completing the shortlist.
It can pay to give another chance to unexposed 5yo LONG DRAW, who disappointed last time but still has considerable potential.

1st (5) (5/1 +0%) Jet Plane |
5/1(+0%) | (5) Jet Plane 5/1, Started the season with back-to-back wins here (25.5f) and Newton Abbot (25.7f) and returned to that sort of form when taking Sandown handicap over this sort of trip last month. Just 2 lb higher now and looks a likely contender provided he keeps the errors at bay. Inconsistent but made it three wins from last seven starts when scoring at Sandown latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (16/5 -16%) William Cody |
16/5(-16%) | (7) William Cody 16/5, Won twice over 2½m at Huntingdon in his first season chasing and having finished runner up on 4 of his 5 starts this term, he crucially jumped better than his rivals when landing 4-runner handicap at Leicester (20.1f) 33 days ago. More on his plate up 7 lb but he can't be discounted. Easy win at Leicester last month; 7lb higher in better race here but entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 +17%) Dibble Decker |
5/2(+17%) | (4) Dibble Decker 5/2, Back-to-back winner over fences last term and left low-key reappearance in his wake when resuming winning ways with a tongue tie added at Wincanton (20f) in January. Backed that up with a solid second at Huntingdon (19.8f) since and he's one to be interested in again. A win and a near-miss from his last two starts and he's a major player once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/1 -83%) Dreams Of Home |
11/1(-83%) | (6) Dreams Of Home 11/1, Made a winning return at Kelso last season and posted one of his better efforts for a while equipped with blinkers when second of 4 in handicap chase at Ayr (16.5f) 32 days ago. Assessor has given him a chance but others look stronger back up in trip. Mark continues to fall; Ayr last time was step back in right direction, but needs another. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (12/1 -71%) War Lord |
12/1(-71%) | (1) War Lord 12/1, Useful chaser at his best who ran well back from 7 months off/wind surgery when third in the Haldon Gold Cup in November. However, he's gone the wrong way from that effort in handful of starts since and first-time blinkers need to have positive effect now. Very well handicapped on form as recent as last November but has struggled since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (7/2 +68%) Gloire D'athon |
7/2(+68%) | (3) Gloire D'athon 7/2, Enjoyed a fine campaign over fences last season but he was out of sorts when last seen in November, well-beaten in handicaps at Newbury/Kempton. Has fallen back down to last winning mark if subsequent break has had positive effect. Enjoyed a prolific spell up to last May but below best on his last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (22/1 -193%) The Big Bite |
22/1(-193%) | (2) The Big Bite 22/1, Useful sort on his day over fences and back to that level in first-time headgear when narrow winner of Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury 13 months ago. Has offered little this term, though, beaten before 2 out when last of 5 in Doncaster handicap chase 39 days ago. 11yo who has dropped down the weights but has failed to shine this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
DIBBLE DECKER improved from his return to action when scoring at Wincanton before just being denied by a neck at Huntingdon. The eight-year-old doesn't appear to have reached his ceiling yet and is taken to get his head back in front on this occasion. Jet Plane bounced back at Sandown and is a player off 2lb higher, while a drop in class and the application of blinkers for the first time might see a revival from War Lord.
All the better for his reappearance when successful at Wincanton in January, DIBBLE DECKER again ran well when going down narrowly at Huntingdon 38 days ago (clear of remainder) and, nudged up just 2 lb, he looks sure to go well again. Jet Plane returned to the pick of his early-season form when scoring at Sandown himself latest and is a threat provided he keeps the errors at bay. William Cody and Gloire d'Athon are others in the mix.
Having posted a win and a near-miss on his last two starts, the in-form DIBBLE DECKER (nap) earns the vote. Jet Plane is a danger.

1st (2) (5/2 +0%) King Of The Road |
5/2(+0%) | (2) King Of The Road 5/2, Promising Shirocco gelding who stylishly got off the mark in 14-runner handicap hurdle here (18.6f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Big shout under a 7 lb penalty. Bounced back from disappointing handicap debut when winning here last week; 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +63%) Commanding View |
9/2(+63%) | (3) Commanding View 9/2, Opened his account at Plumpton in December but only twelfth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft) 64 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Below form after racing too freely last time but won on handicap debut two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (33/1 -106%) Treasured Company |
33/1(-106%) | (10) Treasured Company 33/1, Dual 2m hurdles winner in 2021. Lightly raced since but considerately handled after 10 months off when eleventh of 14 to King of The Road in handicap hurdle at this course (18.6f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Possibilities. Made low-key return from layoff here ten days; needs to have come on for the run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (20/1 +39%) Quian |
20/1(+39%) | (1) Quian 20/1, Winner at Taunton in December. Only fifth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, heavy) 23 days ago. Others more persuasive. Made winning handicap debut in December but two lesser efforts have followed this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (50/1 -150%) Seraphic |
50/1(-150%) | (9) Seraphic 50/1, Scored at Clairefontaine in July and comes here in good nick from the Flat, fourth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 18 days ago. Not ruled out back in this sphere. Ran quite well on AW last month but yet to show much over hurdles in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (14) (33/1 -65%) Uncle Arthur |
33/1(-65%) | (14) Uncle Arthur 33/1, Opened hurdles account for Fergal O'Brien in December but going the wrong way for his current yard, off the bridle a long way out when eighth of 10 in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Plumpton (17.8f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Placed on stable debut in December but seems badly to have lost his way this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (6/1 -71%) Ruler Legend |
6/1(-71%) | (7) Ruler Legend 6/1, Useful winner at 10f on flat who got off the mark in this sphere in 5-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (15.8f, soft) 28 days ago. Up 7 lb but he's well in the mix. Won comfortably on last month's handicap debut at Huntingdon; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (16) (33/1 +34%) Righteous Ruane |
33/1(+34%) | (16) Righteous Ruane 33/1, Modest maiden hurdler who came in a below form third of 6 in handicap hurdle at this course (18.6f, heavy) 21 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Remote when third here three weeks ago and now 0-8 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (17/2 -21%) We Got Your Back |
17/2(-21%) | (13) We Got Your Back 17/2, Still a maiden but posted his best effort when second of 5 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (15.8f, heavy) 37 days ago, clear of rest. Solid claims off the same mark. Runner-up in first two handicaps; bumped into a improver last time; could have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (15) (18/1 -80%) Henrysbrotherjack |
18/1(-80%) | (15) Henrysbrotherjack 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden who is being brought along steadily, sixth of 10 in novice hurdle (80/1) at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy) 38 days ago when needing a stiffer test. Open to progress now going into handicaps. Unable to land a blow in three novice/maiden hurdles this year; handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (7/2 +13%) Smurfette |
7/2(+13%) | (4) Smurfette 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden who comes here on the back of a good second of 5 in novice hurdle at Hexham (16.2f, heavy) 119 days ago. Not taken lightly on her handicap debut. Began hurdling career with two promising runs in late 2023; can improve in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (80/1 -100%) At A Pinch |
80/1(-100%) | (6) At A Pinch 80/1, Has failed to complete all 3 runs this term, pulled up in handicap hurdle (22/1) at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy) 24 days ago. Hard to warm to. Started off for current stable with three non-completions; has too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (20/1 +20%) Rock On Tommy |
20/1(+20%) | (12) Rock On Tommy 20/1, Two-time 2m scorer at Uttoxeter last July but comes here out of sorts, tenth of 12 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Ludlow (15.8f, soft) 135 days ago. Won twice last summer but was out of sorts when last seen in the autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (28/1 +15%) Prince Nino |
28/1(+15%) | (11) Prince Nino 28/1, Scored at Perth in September but arrives below par, only seventh of 13 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Musselburgh (15.6f, soft) 96 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Not seen since a poor run in January and probably better suited by 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (125/1 -89%) All Ways And Ever |
125/1(-89%) | (8) All Ways And Ever 125/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who came in only ninth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (15.6f, soft) 52 days ago. Cheekpieces go on with work to do. Second in Hexham maiden on stable debut but struggled when 66-1 for handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
King Of The Road won comfortably over an extended 2m2f here and demands respect under a 7lb penalty, while Huntingdon scorer Ruler Legend must also enter calculations. The vote, however, goes to handicap debutant SMURFETTE. She has performed creditably in each of her four starts to date, particularly when chasing home the useful Lunar Discovery (since Listed-placed) at Hexham last time, and an opening mark of 100 seems fairly lenient.
Ben Pauling's KING OF THE ROAD scored in taking style here recently and looks hard to side against under a 7 lb penalty. Huntingdon-victor Ruler Legend is another weighted to have a say and could emerge as the main danger, although Dan Skelton's handicap-debutant Smurfette and in-form maiden We Got Your Back can both have a say too in a competitive handicap.
A comfortable winner on last month's handicap debut, RULER LEGEND could still be well treated after a 7lb rise.

1st (2) (9/2 -29%) Texard |
9/2(-29%) | (2) Texard 9/2, Fairly useful handicap chaser at best who lost his way for David Pipe but showed more signs of encouragement when third over C&D. Still unexposed for this stable and he's well treated, so worth chancing. Close, front-running third over C&D (soft) latest was easily his closest finish since 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 -11%) Jet Of Dreams |
5/1(-11%) | (5) Jet Of Dreams 5/1, Point winner who was in good form over fences when last seen, third of 10 at Warwick. May yet have a bigger effort in him and should be ready after 6 months off. Form has been very in and out; latest start (September) was followed by his third wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/1 +50%) Moore Clouds |
5/1(+50%) | (3) Moore Clouds 5/1, Opened chase account here last summer and doubled her tally at Sedgefield (17f, soft) on Boxing Day. Disappointed at Catterick since but not one to completely dismiss. Won over C&D last June and Sedgefield (lucky) on Boxing Day; irregular heartbeat latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 -186%) Claret Dabbler |
10/1(-186%) | (6) Claret Dabbler 10/1, Very good second of 7 in handicap chase (12/1) at Kelso (17.1f, soft) 31 days ago. Showed a good attitude from the front last time and should go well again under another positive ride. 0-15; third run back from a 23-month absence when second of seven at Kelso (2m1f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (18/1 +55%) Money For Jam |
18/1(+55%) | (11) Money For Jam 18/1, Little worthwhile form under Rules. Low-level form, the best of it over hurdles early in 2023; 5lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (12/1 -50%) Generous Day |
12/1(-50%) | (1) Generous Day 12/1, Notched fifth career success over fences last season and, while yet to fire this term, his latest fourth at Huntingdon wasn't devoid of encouragement. Taking minor honours this term and he needs to get back closer to last season's level. |

7th (9) (7/2 +42%) Coolmoyne |
7/2(+42%) | (9) Coolmoyne 7/2, Remains a maiden but has been consistent in the main over fences, not disgraced when fourth of 6 at Wetherby last time. One to consider in a thin race. 0-19 but minor honours have been plentiful, over a wide variety of distances. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (66/1 -32%) Pure Surf |
66/1(-32%) | (8) Pure Surf 66/1, First run since leaving Iain Jardine when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Kelso (20.9f, soft, 66/1) 151 days ago. Has plenty to prove for current connections. Two wins over hurdles, the latest last June over 2m6f; returns from pointing. |

|U| (4) (10/1 -43%) Blue Bear |
10/1(-43%) | (4) Blue Bear 10/1, Raised his game to complete a ready first success at Sedgefield in February. Not in the same form next time but given a short break since, so could get back on the up. Off the mark at Sedgefield (2m1f, soft) in February; disappointing there 18 days later. |

|PU| (10) (9/1 -13%) Living's Boy An Co |
9/1(-13%) | (10) Living's Boy An Co 9/1, Poor hurdler/chaser who may have needed the run when fifth at this course 50 days ago. Could be sharper now. Needs to step up a notch from this winter's efforts and has had wind surgery since latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (50/1 -25%) Royal Max |
50/1(-25%) | (7) Royal Max 50/1, Modest form at best for Nicky Henderson and has shown little for current yard. Switches to chasing in a first-time hood. Has struggled in his last five races, the last four for current yard; now tries a hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Difficult to be too confident about any of these, but MOORE CLOUDS had a genuine excuse for her lacklustre performance at Catterick and had been in good form prior to that. The nine-year-old won her only previous chase outing at this venue and might be worth chancing. Claret Dabbler lines up off the same mark as when placed at Kelso and could go well again, while Jet Of Dreams also holds claims returning after wind surgery.
TEXARD is potentially thrown in on old form and took a step back in the right direction when third over C&D last time, so he gets the nod over Claret Dabbler, who ran well at Kelso a month ago. Jet of Dreams is also worthy of consideration on return.
This looks a puzzle, with several who might normally attempt to make the running. Slight preference is for CLARET DABBLER.

1st (7) (11/8 +54%) The New Lion |
11/8(+54%) | (7) The New Lion 11/8, Brother to bumper winner/useful hurdler Kateira, and half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser El Presente. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for leading yard. Has a useful pedigree and is in top hands; no surprise if he has a big say on debut. |

2nd (5) (8/1 +43%) Not So Sobers |
8/1(+43%) | (5) Not So Sobers 8/1, Jack Hobbs gelding. Dam, fairly useful 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful French 19f hurdle winner L'Amiral Nelson. Newcomer to note. First foal; dam useful 2m hurdle winner; one to be interested in on debut. |

3rd (6) (10/3 -90%) Off The Jury |
10/3(-90%) | (6) Off The Jury 10/3, Point winner in Ireland this time last year and plenty to like about his second at Doncaster on Rules bow, finishing with running left behind subsequent listed winner/Champion Bumper eighth. Raced freely again when disappointing at Kempton next time but probably worth another chance in hood. Point winner; leading claims on bumper form and the hood could help him settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 -100%) Job |
18/1(-100%) | (4) Job 18/1, Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Ivanohe. Fourth sole start in Irish points (May 2023) and left behind at the business end of Newbury bumper on debut in January. Didn't run badly when seventh at Newbury in what looked a warm race; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (22/1 +56%) Leader Wing |
22/1(+56%) | (11) Leader Wing 22/1, Wings of Eagles gelding. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 8.5f. Not an obvious sort on paper. Trainer has unearthed a promising bumper horse this spring; market check advised on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (7/2 +0%) Tramuntana |
7/2(+0%) | (1) Tramuntana 7/2, €60,000 half-brother to fair hurdler Garcon Doux. Perfect start in 3-runner newcomers bumper at Fakenham by 17 lengths (5/6) 141 days ago, making all. More needed under a penalty. Easily won three-runner bumper on debut at Fakenham last November; respected under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 -129%) Barleythorpe |
16/1(-129%) | (9) Barleythorpe 16/1, Mukhadram gelding. Dam 2m-2½m hurdle winner, also 7.4f (at 2 yrs)-1¾m winner who stayed 2m on Flat. Yard can ready one and he's respected. Dam dual-purpose performer (useful over hurdles) and he's not ruled out on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (250/1 -150%) Beauparc Seven |
250/1(-150%) | (2) Beauparc Seven 250/1, Half-brother to dual bumper winner Green Oaks Top Cat, out of a bumper winner. Well held in Warwick bumper (33/1, heavy) on debut last month. Tailed off at 33-1 on last month's debut at Warwick (2m, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (50/1 -400%) Belladinotte |
50/1(-400%) | (8) Belladinotte 50/1, Yeats mare. Sister to modest hurdler Innisfree Lass. Pedigree indicates this newcomer will be of more interest when tackling further in future. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (300/1 -200%) Fast Fred |
300/1(-200%) | (10) Fast Fred 300/1, 28/1, little impact in Newcastle bumper 5 weeks ago. Tailed off at 28-1 on last month's debut at Newcastle (2m1f, heavy). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (150/1 -127%) Hundred Percent |
150/1(-127%) | (3) Hundred Percent 150/1, Always behind in Ayr bumper on debut 5 months ago. Has had a wind operation. Well beaten at Ayr on debut; subsequent wind op needs to have made a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TRAMUNTANA didn't have much to beat when successful on his racecourse bow at Fakenham in November, but Olly Murphy's gelding won easily and merits the utmost respect as a result. Off The Jury failed to build on a promising debut effort under Rules at Doncaster when fourth at Kempton last time. However, he should not be underestimated in this company, while The New Lion is the pick of the newcomers.
OFF THE JURY is given another chance in the hope a first-time hood helps him to settle better, with the form of his Doncaster second reading well. The New Lion is a very appealing newcomer for Dan Skelton, while Barleythorpe is one to note for Pam Sly. Tramuntana won a thin race at Fakenham and probably needs to improve under a penalty.
The first-time hood could have a settling effect on the headstrong point winner OFF THE JURY, and he's taken to come out on top.

6/1(+40%) | (8) Berkshire Lad 6/1, €11,000 3-y-o, Berkshire gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Where's My Jet. Betting can prove a good indicator. Half-brother to bumper winner; he'll need to be pretty useful to win this on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TYPHOON FLYER showed promise on both previous appearances under Rules in Ireland and it would be no surprise to see the son of Walk In The Park make a winning start for new connections. Western Harmony was fourth on his Rules debut at Doncaster in January and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Woodland Park and Boston Boy.
TYPHOON FLYER rates the pick on the form of his Naas second and can make a winning start for Dr Richard Newland. Nicky Henderson's Western Harmony can build on his debut Doncaster fourth and is next best ahead of Kempton-third Woodland Park and newcomers Berkshire Lad and Korus.
Preference is for WOODLAND PARK, who was a promising third on his debut at Kempton in February and is open to improvement.
Ths is the racecard key.
