1st (2) ![]() He's A Diamond |
12/1(0%) | (2) He's A Diamond 12/1, Placed on second of 2 starts in points but failed to beat a rival on first 2 starts under Rules and never threatened on the back of wind surgery when fourth of 6 in bumper at Newcastle (16.9f) 23 days ago. Passed over now hurdling up in trip. Improved show in his latest bumper but that 20l fourth of six was modest form nonetheless. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Loch Frisa |
10/11(+34%) | (3) Loch Frisa 10/11, Displayed some ability only start in bumpers and showed benefit of hurdles debut effort when fourth of 7 in a Ludlow maiden (23.8f) 5 weeks ago. In good hands and surprise were that to prove his limit. Some ability at Ludlow in his second maiden hurdle; this drop back in trip might help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Raincloud |
50/1(+0%) | (5) Raincloud 50/1, Poor maiden who again offered little when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (20.6f) in January. Hard to make a case for back in maiden company with a first-time tongue tie reached for. Bits of modest form but overall tally is now 0-24 (0-9 hurdles); tongue tied first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) ![]() Charlie Baloo |
17/2(+39%) | (6) Charlie Baloo 17/2, Jack Hobbs gelding who is bred to be a useful jumper but looked one for the longer term when not knocked about and ninth of 12 in bumper at Doncaster (16.6f) on debut 24 days ago. Step up in trip entitled to suit now hurdling. 28-1, never-dangerous ninth of 12 in bumper at Doncaster (good) early this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) ![]() Castanea Breeze |
11/8(+21%) | (1) Castanea Breeze 11/8, Well-made sort who displayed race-by-race progress in bumpers, staying on gradually when third in a 14-runner contest at Huntingdon (15.8f) 24 days ago. Longer trip promises to suit now his attentions switch to hurdling and he's worth a second look. Third at Wetherby (soft) and Huntingdon (good to soft) in his last two bumpers; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Loch Frisa sets the standard, albeit a modest one, with an official rating of 98 and he looks sure to go well in this weak contest. However, preference is for the lightly-raced CASTANEA BREEZE, who was placed in two of his three bumper starts and Lucy Wadham's gelding may appreciate the step up in trip on his hurdling bow. He's A Diamond looks best of the rest.
LOCH FRISA and hurdles debutant Castanea Breeze are fancied to dominate, with the former open to improvement and getting the nod.
It's not an easy choice between CASTANEA BREEZE and Loch Frisa but they are preferred in that order.

1st (3) ![]() George Darling |
9/1(+50%) | (3) George Darling 9/1, Unplaced both starts in points and whilst he's finished down the field all 3 starts in maiden hurdles, those exploits haven't been devoid of promise. Could have more to offer now handicapping/up in trip so market confidence behind him would look interesting. No solid form claims but it's his handicap debut and the move up from 2m should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Youdecide |
5/4(+38%) | (2) Youdecide 5/4, Irish point winner who hinted at ability in his qualifying hurdle runs and duly stepped forward (well supported) to make a winning handicap debut at Huntingdon (20.6f) 2 weeks ago, as expected benefiting from the increase in trip. Big player with further progress anticipated. Won handicap debut at Huntingdon (2m5f) in clearcut style from I'm Your Buckaroo; up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) ![]() I'm Your Buckaroo |
5/2(+29%) | (6) I'm Your Buckaroo 5/2, Certainly not without hope on pedigree and surpassed form displayed in maiden/novice hurdles when keeping on for second behind Youdecide in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (20.6f) 2 weeks ago. Meets that rival on much more favourable terms this time and he's a player. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Made much harder work of it than Youdecide when 2nd at Huntingdon (2m5f); cheekpieces now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) ![]() Dreamings Free |
80/1(-60%) | (8) Dreamings Free 80/1, Little form since 2023/24 and no show in trio of starts in maiden hurdles upon joining present stable. Has it to prove returned to handicap company. Heavy defeats on all three starts for new yard, admittedly at huge odds in maidens. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) ![]() Je Viens Du Large |
11/2(+45%) | (4) Je Viens Du Large 11/2, Easily off the mark in Irish points but handed a stiff enough looking mark and failed to find any improvement for application of cheekpieces when fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (15.8f, good) 23 days ago. Tongue tie added following wind surgery and he now goes back up in trip. Went from about 2m4f to 2m for both handicaps but pretty disappointing; tongue tied now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (9) ![]() Rhiannon Ring |
12/1(-41%) | (9) Rhiannon Ring 12/1, From a good jumping family and there's been more promise in handicaps of late, running best race when third in 10-runner Southwell contest (15.8f) 23 days ago. Each-way player stepping back up in trip from her basement mark. Third at Catterick (2m) and Southwell (2m1f) in the last two of her three handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) ![]() Bodygroove |
8/1(-191%) | (1) Bodygroove 8/1, Fair Flat winner (stays 2m) who showed much improved when making a winning handicap hurdle debut under this pilot at Wetherby (2m) last week, nicely on top at the line. Escapes a penalty for that success and he's of interest again back up in trip. Won last week's handicap hurdle debut at Wetherby (2m) off this mark under Joshua Thompson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) ![]() Scottish King |
11/1(+45%) | (5) Scottish King 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden who was much tighter in the betting than previously but never figured when sixth in 7-runner C&D handicap 50 days ago. Eased 4 lb ahead of this if he can bounce back. Handicapping last three runs and easily best of those was the first (2m4f); now 9lb lower. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
I'm Your Buckaroo (second) was no match for YOUDECIDE (winner) at Huntingdon a fortnight ago and while the former now sports cheekpieces and is 5lb better off, Ben Pauling's gelding is expected to prove too strong once again. Bodygroove made a successful handicap bow in this sphere over 2m at Wetherby recently and, given that he escapes a penalty for that triumph, he must be feared. Rhiannon Ring is noted too.
BODYGROOVE seemed to appreciate the return to a sounder surface and was nicely on top at the line when making a winning handicap debut at Wetherby (2m) 8 days ago. Going unpenalized for that, he rates a sound player again stepping back up in trip. Youdecide was a good winner himself on his respective handicap bow recently and is next best. I'm Your Buckaroo and Rhiannon Ring also make each-way appeal.
The principal candidates appear to be last-time-out winners BODYGROOVE (unpenalised for his win) and Youdecide.

1st (4) ![]() Ostend |
4/1(+50%) | (4) Ostend 4/1, Maiden hurdle winner in Ireland who has yet to build on chasing debut/reappearance effort in 3 subsequent runs over fences, third of 5 in Bangor novice (17.3f) 4 weeks ago. Tongue strap goes on ahead of this return to handicaps and it's too soon to be writing him off. Sole hurdles win in Ireland (April 2023) stands out; now 11lb lower than on British debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) ![]() Issar D'airy |
9/4(-13%) | (1) Issar D'airy 9/4, Dual Newbury winner at around 2m last winter who found his stamina holding up better at this trip away from bad ground when second of 8 in handicap chase at Sandown (20f) 18 days ago. That form looks solid and he's of definite interest here. 2nd under Freddie Mitchell in three of five races this term (2m-2m4f); big shout, surely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Stormin Crossgales |
15/2(+53%) | (3) Stormin Crossgales 15/2, Landed back-to-back small-field handicap chases at Doncaster/Southwell at up to 20f during the winter but struggled subsequently, again failing to complete when pulled up at Warwick (20f, soft) 33 days ago. Others line up with more pressing claims. Two front-running wins this winter but pulled up both starts since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) ![]() Ryan's Rocket |
10/11(+17%) | (2) Ryan's Rocket 10/11, £110,000 Irish point winner who won twice over hurdles last spring and all the better for his reappearance run when successful on handicap chase debut at Chepstow (2m) in November. Good second next time and this less demanding than his Cheltenham assignment (again strong form) in January. Failed to get home, albeit on soft, in 2m5f novice handicap at Cheltenham two months ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
This is less competitive than the races ISSAR D'AIRY has been contesting in recent months and is an excellent opportunity for Gary and Josh Moore's gelding. At the foot of the handicap, Ostend could find more for the addition of a first-time tongue-tie. Ryan's Rocket has few miles on the clock but, although respected, a tendency to race keenly could be an issue in this small field.
ISSAR D'AIRY found his stamina holding up much better at this trip away from bad ground when runner-up in a solid looking handicap at Sandown (20f) 18 days ago and a repeat should see him prove a tough nut to crack in this line-up. Ryan's Rocket remains low-mileage in this sphere and will find this much less demanding than his Cheltenham assignment in January, so he can pose the chief threat.
Issar d'Airy has a more substantial record over this sort of trip but RYAN'S ROCKET is much more lightly raced and could do better.

1st (4) ![]() D Day Arvalenreeva |
13/2(-18%) | (4) D Day Arvalenreeva 13/2, Fair handicapper on Flat who showed more than on hurdling debut when third in 12-runner maiden at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) earlier in the month. Open to further improvement making a quick switch to handicaps but her opening mark certainly demands it. Fair on Flat; third at Wincanton (1m7f) in second hurdle race but needs to progress again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Feet On The Ground |
13/8(+70%) | (3) Feet On The Ground 13/8, Could only match the form shown on qualifying runs when fourth of 11 on handicap debut at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) earlier in the month, but remains the sort to do better, not least if she settles down a bit. Cut out in the closing stages of handicap debut at Warwick (extended 1m7f, good to soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) ![]() Saisissante |
10/1(+44%) | (2) Saisissante 10/1, Landed juvenile hurdle at Ludlow last season. Encouraging reappearance when third in Hereford handicap in November but not in the same form both outings since, doing plenty wrong at Wincanton latest. Good 3rd at Hereford (2m) in November after a year off; right out of form both runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) ![]() Nobody's Perfect |
15/8(0%) | (5) Nobody's Perfect 15/8, Proved a different proposition to on her handicap debut with her usual hood left off when winning 10-runner event at Exeter (18.5f, good to soft, 15/2) 19 days ago, well on top finish. Hit with a 6 lb rise but still unexposed. Held up and led run-in for 4l win in ten-runner race at Exeter (2m2f, good) 19 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NOBODY'S PERFECT travelled powerfully to score by a comfortable four lengths over an extended 2m2f at Exeter earlier in the month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put her up 6lb. The six-year-old makes only her third handicap start and could have more to offer. Feet On The Ground only managed a well-held fourth on her first start in a handicap, but she would be foolish to dismiss off a 2lb lower mark. Mistress Emma completes the shortlist.
FEET ON THE GROUND failed to improve sent handicapping at Wincanton earlier in the month, but she showed up well enough to think she may do another day, particularly if she settles down a bit, so is given another chance for a yard that can seemingly do little wrong at present. It's fair to assume it's not been plain sailing with Mistress Emma training-wise, but she's a well-bred sort in a top stable and could easily have more to offer, with recent winner Nobody's Perfect also feared.
Further improvement from Nobody's Perfect is likely but MISTRESS EMMA (nap) could hold the greater potential.

1st (6) ![]() Pittsburg |
13/8(+51%) | (6) Pittsburg 13/8, Losing run is mounting up (last victory came 15 starts ago) but bounced back to form after just 4 days off when third over C&D (good) 10 days ago. Has conditions in his favour and this former C&D scorer could be worth chancing. 3-17 chasing, last win Uttoxeter (2m, soft) last July; C&D 3rd of six (good) ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) ![]() Ensel Du Perche |
9/4(+10%) | (4) Ensel Du Perche 9/4, Showed he still has plenty to offer when beating a pair of subsequent winners at Catterick on New Year's Day and quickly shrugged off a poor run next time when making it 2 wins from as many starts at that course (15.7f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. 5 lb higher but should be in the mix again. 11yo with up-and-down profile; tailed off penultimate outing but Catterick win either side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) ![]() Conquer The Breeze |
4/1(+75%) | (5) Conquer The Breeze 4/1, A fair maiden hurdler but he's yet to complete in 4 chases. Returns from 3 months off and needs to brush up on his jumping if he's to play a part. Best hurdles form reads very well but form-figures of FPPP switched to handicap chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Mcgrath From Clune |
22/1(+12%) | (2) Mcgrath From Clune 22/1, Good second in handicap chase at Thurles 13 months ago but has gone the wrong way since (no promise all 3 starts for this yard). Hard to enthuse over. Out of form on final three Irish runs and the same story on his three starts in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) ![]() Bold Jury |
13/2(+0%) | (1) Bold Jury 13/2, Placed on the last of his 3 starts in Irish points and showed a bit on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in December. Failed to make an impact on his next 2 starts (ran out first occasion) and departed early switched to chasing for his handicap bow at this C&D (good) 10 days ago. 11-1 for chase/handicap debut over C&D (good) ten days ago but unseated at the second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) ![]() Fast Deal |
16/1(+76%) | (7) Fast Deal 16/1, Isn't one to be interested in whatever the discipline and returns from a break again out of the weights. 57 races overall for one win, for 7lb claimer at Stratford last April over 3m4f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
We Got Your Back failed to justify favouritism when filling the runner-up spot in this grade at Southwell on his latest outing, but that was still a respectable effort and he has to be respected. However, it may pay to side with ENSEL DU PERCHE, who made it two wins from his last three starts when a five-length victor at Catterick last time. He can continue his brilliant form, while Pittsburg is another to keep an eye on.
His losing run may well be mounting, but it could be worth taking a chance on PITTSBURG, who bounced back to form when third over C&D 10 days ago and has conditions in his favour here. Second choice is We Got Your Back, who was back on song when finding just one too good at Southwell earlier in the month. Veteran Ensel du Perche, who made it 2 wins from his last 3 starts last time, rounds off the shortlist.
Ensel Du Perche has the two wins from his last three starts but WE GOT YOUR BACK looks the more reliable proposition.

1st (6) ![]() On To The Rouge |
4/1(+71%) | (6) On To The Rouge 4/1, Sogann gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Ontherouge. Dam, bumper winner, half-sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stayed 2¼m) Clever Cookie, out of fair 2½m hurdle winner Simply Mystic. Has a fair standard to aim at on debut. Trainer's bumper winners are less frequent nowadays but this newcomer needs a close look. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) ![]() Plains Drifter |
15/2(-36%) | (3) Plains Drifter 15/2, €12,000 3-y-o, £20,000 4-y-o, Idaho gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam, ran once over hurdles/in bumpers, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Maggie Connolly. Third in an Irish point in November and he could go well for in-form yard. Third of five in an Irish maiden point in November and made £20,000 the following month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) ![]() Uptown Dandy |
5/6(-4%) | (4) Uptown Dandy 5/6, Has shaped encouragingly in a pair of bumpers at Exeter, runner-up on debut with the winner finishing second in a listed race next time. Beaten only ½ length when third last month (16.7f, heavy) and he could be ready to get off the mark. Placed twice in the mud at Exeter; different ground but he brings easily the best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) ![]() Greedy Smith |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Greedy Smith 4/1, €65,000 3-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding. Dam, little impact in bumpers/over hurdles, half-sister to top-class hurdler/fairly useful chaser in France (stayed 25f) Galop Marin and bumper winner/useful hurdler (2m winner) Gaelic Arc. One to note. 46,000euros foal, 65,000euros 3yo; major yard and needs a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) ![]() Golden Whirl |
11/1(+8%) | (5) Golden Whirl 11/1, Golden Horn gelding. Closely related to a winner and half-brother to 4 winners on Flat, including smart 1m/8.6f winner Cicero's Gift. Dam 5f winner (including at 2 yrs). Hood on for debut. Watch for market clues. Flat family; hood for debut; trainer has made his mark in bumpers, notably with newcomers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
65,000-euro purchase Greedy Smith is well related and it would be interesting if the market speaks in his favour on debut. However, UPTOWN DANDY has experience on his side having hit the frame on both of his starts at Exeter. Ben Pauling's horses are in good form at present and he looks the way to go. Brian Hughes is an eye-catching booking for On To The Rouge and he is another to note.
UPTOWN DANDY has shown promise when placed at Exeter both starts so far and he can put his experience to good use to open his account this time around. Plains Drifter represents a yard which enjoys success in this sphere and he could be the main danger, ahead of Greedy Smith.
Exeter places showed that UPTOWN DANDY is capable of winning a bumper. They were in the mud, though, and the newcomers need a check.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
