The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
While second five times, KOREA managed just one win from eight starts in France, claiming a heavy ground maiden over an extended mile and a half trip last November. Starting off for Willie Mullins now, she looks the one to beat despite her lack of experience over flights. Newcomer Kazakh D'arthel won't have to be a star to make his presence felt, with the Gavin Cromwell-trained French bred out of a half-sister to seven time winner Enjeu D'Arthel. The 111-rated Edge Of Darkness finished second in a claimer at Roscommon last month and on his initial outing for new connections, he should be able to make an impact. A good third over the course and distance on Thursday, Herbies Rover is another leading hope.
KOREA showed a fairly useful level of form on the Flat in France and, having transferred to Willie Mullins' yard, he makes plenty of appeal on this switch to hurdling. Kazakh d'Arthel is another interesting runner having shown promise in his sole outing in bumpers in France and is feared most ahead of Edge of Darkness.
Not many make a lot of appeal. KOREA looks the one to side with from the champion trainer.

1st (4) (9/2 -13%) Where's My Jet |

Should be fine with the step back up in trip and much respected in follow-up bid. Bumper winner won a Killarney maiden hurdle last time over 2m; this trip is a question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/6 +59%) My Great Mate |
4/6(+59%) | (3) My Great Mate 4/6, Promising type completed a simple task in 7-runner maiden hurdle at Sligo (20.6f, soft, 1/11) 38 days ago, unchallenged. Likely to progress further. Won a Sligo maiden hurdle in a canter last time; closely matched with Donnie Devito. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -157%) Donnie Devito |
9/2(-157%) | (1) Donnie Devito 9/2, Improved again to make it 2 wins from 3 starts over hurdles in 12-runner novice hurdle (11/1) at Galway (20.7f, good to soft) 58 days ago, responding well. Much respected despite having to concede weight all round. Improved lately to win a Punchestown maiden and Galway novice; double penalty but a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -54%) Disco Dancer |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Disco Dancer 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Cork in July. Creditable third of 6 in minor event hurdle at this C&D (good, 5/1) 6 days ago. Should remain competitive. Maiden hurdle winner has been consistent in defeat lately; 3rd over C&D earlier in week. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Willie Mullins saddles two and while Paul Townend has opted to partner My Great Mate, it might be worth siding with his stable companion WHERE'S MY JET. Disappointing when keen on his penultimate start at Galway, he bounced back in style at Killarney, making virtually all when comfortably accounting for 13 rivals. Proven on testing ground, he goes back up in trip now and a bold bid looks likely. The hat-trick seeking Donnie Devito is the clear form choice, after battling successes at Punchestown and Galway respectively. He beat the aforementioned My Great Mate by half a length when they clashed at Punchestown and there is again likely to be little between them here. A solid third over the course and distance on Sunday last, Disco Dancer also warrants respect.
MY GREAT MATE completed a simple task in the manner of a useful sort at Sligo last month and is fancied to follow up with further progress on the cards. Where's My Jet, a stablemate of the selection, could be the one to provide the main threat.
The 5lb swing in the weights could be enough to enable MY GREAT MATE to turn the tables on Donnie Devito from their earlier clash.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Successful in this very race 12 months ago, GOLD SPEED is the selection. Seen just once since that triumph, the now 11-year-old had a pipe-opener at Killarney last month and is sure to come on plenty for that effort. Toto Too and Champella were third and fourth in that Killarney contest and they both look to have solid claims, with the former tried in first time cheekpieces. The same headgear worked the oracle on Barry Lydon when he readily accounted for his rivals at Bellewstown last month. The subject of good market support on that occasion, it'll come as no surprise if he manages to follow-up. Handicap debutant Brilliant Light is an interesting contender after making the breakthrough at Worcester recently, while Ballywilliam Boy, who was third over the course and distance on Thursday, and dual UK winner Dream In The Park are others of interest.
BRILLIANT LIGHT made it third time lucky in this shere at Worcester at the beginning of the month and he could have more to offer now pitched into a handicap. Barry Lyndon is feared most ahead of Dream In The Park and Ballywilliam Boy, who has been knocking on the door.
A chance is taken on GOLD SPEED. He won this last year, his last run should have blown away any cobwebs and he is versatile tactically.

10/1(+50%) | (9) Duke Otto 10/1, 16/1, good fourth of 13 in handicap at Clonmel (16.6f, good) 23 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Poor on last hurdle run. Others make more appeal. On last winning mark, should appreciate the return to softer ground, check the market. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Local trainer Eoin McCarthy is responsible for four of the 18 set to take part in this wide-open contest. His DARK IMAGE ran well to finish sixth in a slightly stronger contest over the course and distance on Sunday last, and she should get closer now with Calum Hogan claiming a valuable 7lb. McCarthy also saddles Aboy Joey, Spavango (declared on Friday) and course winner Cosmic Rock, with the latter last seen finishing third at Limerick in April. Top weight Dgalwaygallivantor won over fences at Downpatrick in May and will be well-fancied to follow-up, while six-time winner Jake Peter is another likely to have plenty of supporters. Returning from a lengthy absence, it'll be interesting to see how Cullagh Star fares, while fellow handicap debutants The Nagger Reidy and Duhallow Jury are others of note.
DGALWAYGALLIVANTOR has a solid hurdles record and showed improvement to score in a novice chase at Downpatrick last time. Back in this sphere, he's potentially thrown in, so he gets the nod over Cosmic Rock and Toon Town, who arrive in good order.
A chance is taken on ILBDARE in the hope that he acts on sof. He has shaped well in both handicaps and the drop in trip here may suit.

20/1(+0%) | (13) King Ferdinand 20/1, Latest win in chase at Killarney in August. Ninth of 10 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, good to soft, 12/1) 19 days ago. Won off 9lb lower at Killarney, bombed out off revised mark on latest, others more likely. |

20/1(-25%) | (2) Embittered 20/1, 50/1, respectable sixth of 17 in handicap chase at Punchestown (20.4f, good to soft) 150 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Gordon Elliott. Uphill task. Won a nice race at Navan last year for former yard, lost form since, watch on stable debut. |

A case can be made for the vast majority of these, with handicap debutant LAW ELLA the suggestion. Successful on her first start over fences at Thurles last season, she went down by just three quarters of a length in Listed company when last seen at the Co Tipperary venue. Returning from a break now, a bold bid looks likely from the seven-year-old, with the trip and ground both in her favour. Second and third in the Galway Blazers, Moonovercloon and Flanking Maneuver are both likely to prove popular, with the latter starting off for Gordon Elliott and the Cheeky Pups Syndicate. Walnut Beach landed a valuable prize at Killarney last month and looks to have solid claims with Gary Noonan again claiming a valuable 5lb, while others of interest in this fiercely competitive affair are Watch The Weather, King Ferdinand and The Short Go.
FLANKING MANEUVER has returned to form with blinkers enlisted the last twice and, still on a potentially handy mark, he could be the answer on debut for the Gordon Elliott yard. Watch The Weather has been knocking on the door in recent months and he is likely to be on the premises once more. If all is well following a 219-day absence, Law Ella won't be far away and Walnut Beach is another with claims.
DONACHEADY GALE could go well off a feather-weight on ground he'll relish. He looks well-handicapped on the best of his chase form.

Return to this sphere could help. Three chase wins but pulled-up on two of last three starts and has to return to best. |

|PU| (2) (22/1 -10%) Dragon Rock |
22/1(-10%) | (2) Dragon Rock 22/1, Pulled up in handicap chase (28/1) at Wexford (25.5f, soft) 66 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Others make more appeal. Won over 3m on testing ground last winter; questions after pulled-up on last two starts. |

Successful aboard Mica Malpic in 2022 and Harvey's Quay last year, Derek O'Connor now teams up with interesting handicap debutant AUREA FORTUNA. A half-brother to dual Grade 1 winner Battleoverdoyen, he ran his best race to date when sixth at Roscommon last month and still only five, there should be plenty more to come from the Mount Nelson chestnut. Second and third in this very contest 12 months ago, Galon De Vauzelle and Avec Espoir both look to have solid claims, with the latter sure to have plenty of supporters after easily winning two of his last three. Recent Killarney victor Meehall and the locally trained Kadys Dirha are others for the shortlist in this competitive affair.
MEEHALL upped his game and displayed a good attitude when scoring at Killarney last time and the bulk of his rivals have something to prove, so he gets the nod over Avec Espoir, who is a huge threat if able to replicate the form of his recent hurdling success.
Robinstown and AVEC ESPOIR like to get on with matters and could get away from the others early on. Preference is for the latter.

4th (6) (5/2 +69%) Heads Up |
5/2(+69%) | (6) Heads Up 5/2, €40,000 3-y-o, Blue Bresil gelding. Dam, ran twice in bumpers, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stays 19f) The Russian Doyen. By a leading sire and cost 40,000euros as a 3yo; classy damline; worth a market check. |

5th (4) (9/1 +73%) Mellem |

6th (5) (16/1 +52%) Couldntmakeitup |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Couldntmakeitup 16/1, Once-raced maiden. 20½ lengths ninth of 14 to Windbeneathmywings in bumper at Cork (16.9f, good to soft, 28/1) on NH debut 85 days ago. Beaten 21l on debut at Cork and huge improvement is needed; top rider booked, though. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NOT NOW DARLING stands out after her comfortable debut success. A half-sister to the potentially high class Mozzies Sister, she readily stretched clear of her rivals on good ground at Killarney, with the likely testing conditions here a cause for concern. The ground is also an unknown for Cork victor Windbeneathmywings. A solid second on his latest start, another good effort looks likely from the Free Eagle chestnut. The Harry Kelly-trained Black Heather is the other winner in the line-up, but again the ground is a cause for concern. A runner-up on soft on debut at Down Royal, Addragoole went down by just half a length at Bellewstown in April. Not seen since, the Gavin Cromwell-trained five-year-old is of definite interest with Declan Lavery aboard.
Having made a winning start, WINDBENEATHMYWINGS probably bumped into one when second at Ballinrobe last time and, if he's in the same form, he can get back to winning ways here. Not Now Darling and Addragoole are also serious players.
Getting weight from Black Heather and Windbeneathmywings, ADDRAGOOLE(nap) can go one better than on his two previous starts.
Ths is the racecard key.
