1st (2) (25/1 -25%) See You Boy |
25/1(-25%) | (2) See You Boy 25/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Last of 9 in handicap (17/2) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 18 days ago, slowly away. Something to prove at present. Should be on a good mark but has been struggling for a while now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/2 +29%) Arctician |
11/2(+29%) | (4) Arctician 11/2, C&D winner. Respectable fourth of 14 in handicap (10/3) at Kempton (8f) 23 days ago. Hood back on. Shouldn't be discounted. This is his trip and he comes here on the back of some solid runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (10/3 -17%) Grenham Bay |
10/3(-17%) | (9) Grenham Bay 10/3, 7/4, good second of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 7 days ago. Well treated if he can build on that, so one to be interested in. Both wins at 6f but fine at 7f and did well to finish second last time after racing freely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/8 +58%) Band Of Steel |
15/8(+58%) | (1) Band Of Steel 15/8, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, creditable third of 13 in handicap (4/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 6 days ago, nearest finish. Liable to be on the premises again. Good run at Chelmsford last week but the draw could prove troublesome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (80/1 -400%) Lady Lavina |
80/1(-400%) | (6) Lady Lavina 80/1, 100/1, last of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 23 days ago, slowly away. Plenty to find on form. Finished stone-cold last at Kempton following a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 -56%) Nammos |
12/1(-56%) | (5) Nammos 12/1, Twelfth of 16 in minor event at Longchamp (8f, soft, 21/1). Off 14 months. First run for yard after leaving Hugo Palmer. Makes handicap debut. Worth a market check. Twice runner-up last year; market needs checking on this belated handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 -150%) Liberty Mountain |
50/1(-150%) | (7) Liberty Mountain 50/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in October. Tenth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 7/1) 29 days ago. Others make more appeal. Excuses last time; will need some luck from stall 1 but this should be run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (16/1 -118%) Capuchinero |
16/1(-118%) | (10) Capuchinero 16/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in November. Creditable third of 11 in handicap (9/4) at Newcastle (7.1f) 33 days ago. Should give another good account. Won nicely at Chelmsford and wasn't far away under a penalty at Newcastle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (20/1 +0%) Bowman |
20/1(+0%) | (3) Bowman 20/1, C&D winner. Sixth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 40/1) 36 days ago. Chance on old form but needs to bounce back. Ran his best race since returning from a break when a close sixth over C&D a month ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (4/1 +0%) Musical Mystery |
4/1(+0%) | (8) Musical Mystery 4/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year. 11/4, creditable second of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 20 days ago, slowly away. Worth a chance to resume winning ways. Form figures of 1112 in AW handicaps since joining Ed Dunlop and hard to knock. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Successful over C&D in August, MUSICAL MYSTERY has been a revelation since joining the Ed Dunlop stable, going in twice more, and he can make it four wins in his last six starts as he goes back up to a distance he is unbeaten over. Touched off over track and trip last week, Grenham Bay is a leading contender, as is Band Of Steel, who is also turned out again quickly after a close-up third at Chelmsford.
MUSICAL MYSTERY is on the up and shaped well after a slow start at Wolverhampton last time, so he's capable of getting his head back in front with another improved showing. The well-treated Grenham Bay is an obvious danger and Capuchinero should give her running again.
Andrew Balding's GRENHAM BAY (nap) shouldn't be so free as he was last time with a solid pace on the cards and he's handicapped to win.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (10/1 -82%) Torvar |
10/1(-82%) | (8) Torvar 10/1, 5/2, career best when winning 10-runner nursery at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 22 days ago. Shortlist material. Eyecatching behind Mart at Newcastle before leading close home at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 -60%) Mart |
4/1(-60%) | (2) Mart 4/1, C&D winner. 6/1, career best when winning 12-runner nursery at Newcastle (5f) 26 days ago. Enters calculations. On a hat-trick; effectively just 1lb higher than last time with Harry Burns claiming 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 +38%) Alfa Whiteburd |
5/1(+38%) | (3) Alfa Whiteburd 5/1, 18/1, creditable fifth of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 25 days ago, worst of draw. Makes polytrack debut. Now 0-8 but he made up a lot of late ground to be a 3l fifth at Wolverhampton (6f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 -9%) Chapman |
6/1(-9%) | (5) Chapman 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good fourth of 11 in nursery (4/1) at Southwell (6.1f) 19 days ago. Similar form claims to Gloves on their recent clashes but stall 12 could be an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -60%) Magnificent Match |
12/1(-60%) | (7) Magnificent Match 12/1, 9/1, good fifth of 11 in nursery at Southwell (6.1f) 19 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Behind a couple of these at Southwell (6f) 19 days ago but wasn't far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -150%) Wren Officer |
50/1(-150%) | (6) Wren Officer 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden. First run since leaving George Boughey when fourth of 11 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 28/1) 22 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut. Open to improvement. Beaten 7l in a Wolverhampton maiden last time; makes her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (100/1 -300%) Cremone |
100/1(-300%) | (10) Cremone 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 12 in maiden (66/1) at Chelmsford City (6f) 39 days ago. Makes handicap debut. When third at Windsor only four ran and the ground was heavy; well held otherwise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (25/1 +24%) Krysdanjord |
25/1(+24%) | (9) Krysdanjord 25/1, 28/1, seventh of 10 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 48 days ago, slowly away. Eyeshields on 1st time. Hasn't improved for going into nurseries but this could be a better trip for him than 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (125/1 -279%) One Moonbeam |
125/1(-279%) | (11) One Moonbeam 125/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 6 in maiden at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 100/1) 22 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Insufficient promise in her qualifying runs to be a strong candidate on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (3/1 -9%) Gloves |
3/1(-9%) | (4) Gloves 3/1, Good second of 11 in nursery (5/2) at Southwell (6.1f) 19 days ago, finishing well. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Player. Capable of winning something like this if getting away on terms and cheekpieces may help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This could be the day that things finally click for GLOVES, having been a shade unlucky on her last two starts when slowly away and staying on late. The booking of Jim Crowley catches the eye and she can overturn form with Mart, who got the better of her at Newcastle and arrives on a hat-trick. Wolverhampton winner Torvar and the unexposed Chapman are expected to be thereabouts as well.
GLOVES did well under the circumstances to get so close after yet another tardy start when second at Southwell last time and looks ready to strike. Torvar and Mart arrive on the back of career-best wins so are obvious threats.
The filly GLOVES is holding herself back with slow starts but hopefully the new cheekpieces can help in that respect.

Spring Chorus |
(7) (11/1 -67%)11/1(-67%) | (7) Spring Chorus 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 20/1) 47 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Ivan Furtado. Not discounted. Best of four runs for Ivan Furtado was her last when close up over C&D on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (7/2 +75%) Lost In Time |
7/2(+75%) | (4) Lost In Time 7/2, 16/1, creditable sixth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 23 days ago. Holding form well but appears to be summed up by his mark. Both wins on turf and he's 2-34 overall (0-16 on AW); not in bad form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/3 +58%) Placated |
10/3(+58%) | (3) Placated 10/3, C&D winner. Eighth of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 20/1) 22 days ago. Needs to get back on track. She was a close fifth at Windsor before enduring a wide trip at Chelmsford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (17/2 -209%) Showlan Spirit |
17/2(-209%) | (5) Showlan Spirit 17/2, 4/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 23 days ago, running on. Not taken lightly. Ran well here before finding just one too good on the step up to 1m4f at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (9/1 +36%) Fullforward |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Fullforward 9/1, Latest win at Windsor in August. Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap (15/2) at Windsor (10f, heavy) 51 days ago. Dual turf winner; comparable form on the AW having threatened over 1m2f here in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/1 -122%) Stintino Sunset |
5/1(-122%) | (6) Stintino Sunset 5/1, 16/1, career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 27 days ago, well on top finish. Capable of following up if the pace is solid. Up in trip but won nicely at Chelmsford and a 4lb rise should be manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/1 -144%) Scarborough Castle |
11/1(-144%) | (1) Scarborough Castle 11/1, 10/1, creditable second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f), running on. Off 7 months. Back down in trip. Solid claims if he's tuned up for this return. Lacks a run; all four wins have been on Tapeta and his form here isn't the best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5/1 +69%) This Ones For Fred |
5/1(+69%) | (2) This Ones For Fred 5/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Catterick in August. Ninth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f, 16/1) 41 days ago. Two 1m4f wins during the summer (one over C&D) but has lost his way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (33/1 -65%) Savoy Brown |
33/1(-65%) | (11) Savoy Brown 33/1, C&D winner. Eleventh of 14 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 80/1) 23 days ago. Hard to fancy. Competitive in classified races earlier this year but has struggled back in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 +18%) Seattle King |
33/1(+18%) | (9) Seattle King 33/1, 40/1, sixth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 3 days ago. Back up in trip. Turf winner who made it 0-18 on the AW when midfield at Wolverhampton on Sunday (40-1). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
STINTINO SUNSET is progressing well and the step up in trip can help eke out further improvement as she attempts to build upon a commanding success at Chelmsford. A 4lb rise looks manageable and she gets the vote ahead of the returning Scarborough Castle and Showlan Spirit, who found only one too strong at Kempton last month. Lost In Time and Placated also need considering.
STINTINO SUNSET powered home to score with something to spare at Chelmsford and is well worth a chance to defy a rise in the hope that this is truly run. Showlan Spirit is a danger having run well at Kempton and Scarborough Castle isn't without hope for all that he has fitness to prove after 7 months off.
She'll need to see out this longer trip but STINTINO SUNSET is likeably consistent and she had a nice bit in hand at Chelmsford.

15/8(+69%) | (3) Hill Station 15/8, Winner at Wolverhampton in October. 13/2, creditable sixth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 29 days ago, hampered. Player. Breakthrough win came under Rossa Ryan at 22nd attempt; only okay next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +38%) Alghazaal |
5/1(+38%) | (5) Alghazaal 5/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. Seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 5/1) 21 days ago. Respected back down in class. Big player in this 0-60 with Robert Havlin 3-8 for the yard this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (14/1 -180%) Tamaris |
14/1(-180%) | (1) Tamaris 14/1, 6/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Wincanton (20.2f, soft) 20 days ago. Down in trip. Modest on the Flat, creditable on last Flat run. Others more persuasive. Hard to know what to expect in this 1m4f Flat race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (80/1 -400%) Laurentia |
80/1(-400%) | (11) Laurentia 80/1, Course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. 16/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at this course (10f, AW) 69 days ago, having hopeless task from position. A belated first go over this far is unlikely to be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (4/1 -45%) Largo Bay |
4/1(-45%) | (6) Largo Bay 4/1, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. 10/3, creditable third of 14 in handicap at Kempton (12f) 23 days ago. Blinkers back on. Shortlist material. Two solid runs at Kempton of late and return of headgear (blinkers) could give him a lift. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (16/1 -14%) Merry Minister |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Merry Minister 16/1, 66/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at this course (10f, AW) 18 days ago, flattered by proximity. Needs to step up on what he's done for current yard and he has further to go here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (13/2 +59%) Strictly Dreaming |
13/2(+59%) | (7) Strictly Dreaming 13/2, Tenth of 12 in handicap (40/1) at this C&D (AW) 42 days ago. Pick of form would give her a big shout but she's a risky proposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (13/2 -189%) Sarkha |
13/2(-189%) | (2) Sarkha 13/2, Course winner. Creditable third of 11 in handicap (25/1) at Newcastle (12.4f) 28 days ago. Enters calculations. Course winner who ran his best race for new yard four weeks ago; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (80/1 -142%) Aryaah |
80/1(-142%) | (10) Aryaah 80/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap (80/1) at Kempton (12f) 23 days ago. Overall profile suggests he may not build on last-time-out fifth at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (22/1 -38%) La Mujer |
22/1(-38%) | (9) La Mujer 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eleventh of 12 in novice at this course (7f, AW, 300/1). Off 13 months. Significantly up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Last or second last in trio of 7f/1m novices last year; watch in this 1m4f handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (50/1 +0%) Its Ur Roundmylord |
50/1(+0%) | (8) Its Ur Roundmylord 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Milton Harris when eighth of 9 in handicap (25/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f). Off 19 months. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Rise in trip could work but he hasn't shown much and is returning from a monster layoff. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
C&D winner LARGO BAY has reached the frame at Kempton the last twice and competes off the same rating as the latest of those efforts. The son of Flintshire has arguably the best current form in this contest and Kieran Shoemark can steer him to victory. Strictly Dreaming was well held over track and trip last month, but a further 3lb drop in the weights and the booking of Jim Crowley suggests she could be ready to put her best foot forward. Sarkha's third at Newcastle makes him another to note.
SARKHA took a big step back in the right direction when third at Newcastle 4 weeks ago and is potentially on a good mark if building on that. Largo Bay and Alghazaal head the dangers.
Largo Bay is a solid option in refitted headgear but ALGHAZAAL is preferred. His recent third places look better than Largo Bay's.

5/2(+9%) | (9) Intervention 5/2, Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at this course (7f, AW, 14/1) 7 days ago, pushed out. Carries penalty. Can go well again. Has found the winning groove again of late and hat-trick could be achieved; 2lb well in. |

2nd (1) (9/1 +25%) Way To Dubai |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Way To Dubai 9/1, Latest win at Hoppegarten in May. Fourth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 20/1) 30 days ago. Main concern is whether he'll be quick enough for a first crack at sprinting around here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 +7%) Bosh |
13/2(+7%) | (4) Bosh 13/2, 13/2, respectable sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 67 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Chance if rediscovering old form. Not bad the last twice but more is needed switched to Polytrack. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (14/1 +36%) Count Otto |
14/1(+36%) | (8) Count Otto 14/1, 6-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 12 runs this year. Latest win at Windsor in July. Below form sixth of 10 in handicap (28/1) at this C&D (AW) 42 days ago. Blinkers back on. Didn't do enough in lesser C&D contest six weeks ago to be considered for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 +24%) Rousing Encore |

6/1(+20%) | (12) Cuban Breeze 6/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in November. 5/1, third of 4 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 9 days ago. Checked out quickly last week having snapped long losing run the time before. |

22/1(-22%) | (5) Navello 22/1, Latest win at Epsom in June. Sixth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 12/1) 22 days ago. Won the Dash off 2lb higher in June but needs to step up on what we've seen of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (12/1 -85%) Expert Agent |
12/1(-85%) | (7) Expert Agent 12/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year. 5/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 58 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Kevin Philippart De Foy. Can make presence felt. Dual C&D winner; market can guide starting out for new yard from widest draw. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
INTERVENTION successfully recorded a double when scoring over 7f here, for which he is penalised. The six-year-old takes a step back in distance, which may not cause him too many problems from his good draw, and he is fancied to go in again. Gulliver drops in grade off a 2lb lower rating than his underwhelming seventh at Newcastle so has to enter the equation, along with Way To Dubai, who has his third start for the Charlie Fellowes yard.
BUCCABAY wasn't beaten far at Chelmsford last time and remains on a workable mark. The likeable Expert Agent is a potential danger starting out for a new yard, as is the hat-trick seeking Intervention.
In the hope this sets up for the closers, ANCIENT TIMES is the pick. He's dangerously well handicapped back up to 6f.

9/4(+72%) | (6) Deed Pole 9/4, 11/1, good 1¾ lengths third of 10 to Recuerdame in handicap at this C&D (AW) 25 days ago, running on late. Maiden but more consistent than most at this level. Couldn't quicken as well as Recuerdame but stayed on nicely into third over C&D last time. |

7/2(+0%) | (7) Edmund Ironside 7/2, Improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner handicap at this C&D (AW, well-backed 7/2) 38 days ago. Another bold bid likely. It was a weaker C&D contest he opened his account in last month and he hung left. |

9/2(-13%) | (8) Aeroplane Mode 9/2, 9/2, eye-catcher when third of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 37 days ago, needing stronger gallop. There are races in him. Beaten less than 1l into third last time but returning to shorter may not be ideal. |

5th (4) (22/1 -238%) Divine Messenger |
22/1(-238%) | (4) Divine Messenger 22/1, 4-time course winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year (including when last seen 8 months ago). Suspect he'll come on for this. Three 7f wins here this year; stays this far but may need the run (back from layoff). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (16/1 +36%) Moralisa |
16/1(+36%) | (3) Moralisa 16/1, 20/1, below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Brighton (7f, heavy) 55 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. First run for yard after leaving Ismail Mohammed. Others more persuasive. Might be best watched with stamina to prove starting out for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (20/1 +0%) Rainbow Sign |
20/1(+0%) | (11) Rainbow Sign 20/1, Course winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable second of 11 in handicap (40/1) at Windsor (8.1f, heavy) 51 days ago, no match for winner. Better than of late last time but may again be vulnerable over this far. |

66/1(-313%) | (10) Optimal Sinn 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 36 days ago. Must improve. Picked up quite well to grab fifth here latest and returning to 1m should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

10th (9) (18/1 +10%) Florence Street |
18/1(+10%) | (9) Florence Street 18/1, C&D winner. Eighth of 12 in handicap at this course (10f, AW, 40/1) 42 days ago. Suited by conditions but several others are higher on the list. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RECUERDAME had Deed Pole back in third when securing victory over C&D last month, and the handicapper may have been kind to only raise him 4lb. The seven-year-old could prove very hard to beat at this level. Divine Messenger showed a liking for the application of first-time blinkers to go in over 7f here in March and could have a say on his return to the fray. Aeroplane Mode is another to consider after running into the money at Wolverhampton.
AEROPLANE MODE caught the eye at Wolverhampton and could be the way to go, with confidence in him increased further if he is strong in the betting. This isn't a bad race for the level though and good cases can be made for Media Guest, Edmund Ironside and Recuerdame among others.
Although only third to Recuerdame over C&D 25 days ago, DEED POLE did some nice late work and could turn the tables.

1st (5) (6/5 +60%) Mahboob |
6/5(+60%) | (5) Mahboob 6/5, Sea The Stars gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 1m Efaadah and Prix de Cabourg winner Alrahma. Makes lot of appeal on paper. Well-bred gelding who is in top hands and is one to be interested in on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +26%) Verbier |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Verbier 10/3, Looked potentially useful when making a winning start at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in March and seemed unsuited by testing ground when a well-held third at Redcar 7 months later. Remains with potential. Won on March debut; heavy ground may not have suited since; retains considerable potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/1 +14%) Eleanor Cross |
6/1(+14%) | (8) Eleanor Cross 6/1, Fair form when in the frame in a pair of maidens 12 months apart. Should be competitive again. Promise on sole 2yo start and may improve for her only run since, this September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (40/1 -400%) Birthday Angel |
40/1(-400%) | (3) Birthday Angel 40/1, 105,000 gns yearling, Dark Angel colt. Brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 7f winner Juliet Capulet and 6f winner Strike Red, both useful. Dam 6f winner. Isn't bred for this far but needs a market check all the same. A useful standard is needed on debut but there's lots to like about his pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (22/1 -38%) Orange N Blue |
22/1(-38%) | (7) Orange N Blue 22/1, Disappointed bearing in mind debut promise when fourth of 8 in maiden at Windsor (10f, heavy) 7 months ago. Promising fifth in Wood Ditton; a lesser run followed but he's not written off after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/5 -156%) Nature Watch |
16/5(-156%) | (6) Nature Watch 16/5, €620,000 2-y-o who shaped with plenty of promise when second of 5 in maiden at Wolverhampton (9.5f) on debut 22 days ago, clear of rest. The one to beat with improvement on the cards. Clear second on recent debut and can improve for that experience; could play leading role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (33/1 +18%) Lookingdandy |
33/1(+18%) | (1) Lookingdandy 33/1, Twice-raced maiden on Flat. 50/1, went backwards from debut when fifth of 12 in minor event at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 4 days ago. Hasn't run badly of late on first two Flat starts but improvement needed to threaten today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (250/1 -150%) Hiccups |
250/1(-150%) | (4) Hiccups 250/1, Twice-raced maiden. Tenth of 12 in minor event (150/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 53 days ago. Well beaten at 150-1 this autumn on first two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NATURE WATCH wasn't quite able to justify warm favouritism when touched off on his belated introduction here last month, but he should take some stopping with that experience to draw on. Wolverhampton debut winner Verbier had excuses for a subsequent flop at Redcar (didn't cope with the deep ground) and remains of interest being an expensively-bought daughter of Frankel. A market move for newcomers Mahboob and Birthday Angel would be interesting.
NATURE WATCH shaped with plenty of promise when second on his recent debut and has to be considered the one to beat with improvement on the cards, though strong market support for newcomer Mahboob, who makes plenty of appeal on paper, would put a slightly different slant on matters. Verbier retains potential having failed to handle testing ground at Redcar in October and needs considering, also.
The Godolphin gelding NATURE WATCH was a promising second on his recent debut at Wolverhampton and is taken to go one better.

9/2(+0%) | (1) Shalfa 9/2, Latest win at Brighton in September. 9/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 36 days ago, not knocked about. Good shout. Won well at Brighton in September (1m2f) and has continued to be competitive back on AW. |

6th (3) (3/1 +63%) Classic Speed |

8th (6) (11/2 -22%) Come On John |
11/2(-22%) | (6) Come On John 11/2, Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. Sixth of 9 in handicap (5/1) at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 26 days ago, moving through the race as if still in form but never near enough to play a major role, also losing one of his cheekpieces approaching the final 1f. Dropped 3 lb. In good enough form to have a say if this pans out more favourably than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (40/1 -515%) True Nation |
40/1(-515%) | (12) True Nation 40/1, Maiden. 14/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 25 days ago, hampered and better than the result. Makes polytrack debut. Down another 3 lb and can go well. Suffered some interference last time but hasn't shown much at all in handicaps (8.6f-1m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (40/1 -60%) Seaborn |
40/1(-60%) | (2) Seaborn 40/1, Last of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 66/1) 18 days ago. Seemingly doesn't retain the ability of old. Beaten in the region of 10l in two runs following a mammoth absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (25/1 -25%) Hurricane Kiko |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Hurricane Kiko 25/1, Tenth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at this course (7f, AW) 18 days ago, going off too hard. Significantly up in trip. Visor on 1st time. Maiden winner; the odd decent run in handicaps; career-low mark and new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (33/1 -136%) Bobby Dassler |
33/1(-136%) | (4) Bobby Dassler 33/1, Last of 12 in handicap at this course (7f, AW, 22/1) 18 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Tough to assess at present. Turf winner but has yet to make any real impression in three runs for this yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
None of these are overly-persuasive so it could pay to take a chance on TRIBAL WISDOM finally obliging at the 12th attempt back over a longer trip. Ian Williams' gelding has plummeted in the handicap, but has shaped better than the bare result suggested in each of his last two starts when short of room. Pink Lily won a similar event over C&D with a bit to spare in the summer and should come on for her latest run, while Shalfa is of interest with Taylor Fisher taking off a handy 3lb.
SHALFA is in good order and she could be the way to go. True Nation probably has races in her, while Come On John remains in form and has gone close over C&D.
A chance is taken on CURTIZ who ran a nice first race back from a layoff and his next run perhaps came too soon.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
