12:10 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BY THE GRACE made a bright start to her racing career when runner-up at Southwell and natural improvement would make her difficult to beat in this contest. Seaside Legend had excuses for his latest performance (bled from the nose) and has undergone wind surgery since. He showed plenty on debut and must enter calculations, while I'd Go Maniac is a respected newcomer from the Alan King stable.

BY THE GRACE showed plenty first time up at Southwell in May and this looks a good chance for her to get off the mark. Newcomers Solid Silver and I'd Go Maniac are interesting alternatives.

Seaside Legend and BY THE GRACE are both open to some improvement and token preference is for the latter.

(3) Celtic Art 18/1, Useful winner on Flat and has made an encouraging start to his hurdle career, winning maiden/novice events at Wincanton at the beginning of the year. However, hasn't shown much switched to handicaps since and needs the first-time cheekpieces to help him get back on track.
Useful Flat-racer; two hurdle wins in early 2023 but recent efforts have been troubling.

7/1(-8%)
(2) Zambezi Fix 7/1, Notched second success in this sphere when landing a Chepstow handicap (2m, good to soft) off this mark in February. Reappearance third of 12 over the same C&D was respectable and he's generally consistent, but perhaps vulnerable against some younger, less exposed rivals here.
Hurdle wins on heavy/good to soft; won off this mark in February but this is harder.

(1) Klitschko 2/1, Impressive winner of sole bumper start and made it third time lucky over hurdles when landing a Plumpton maiden (2m, good) on final run of last season. Didn't exactly win that race in the manner one would typically expect of an odds-on shot, but he's armed with potential now handicapping.

Shaped as though the run was needed when third on return in a 5-runner Chepstow handicap (2m, heavy) and should come on for that, but improvement will be needed if he's to play a leading role here.
Dual 2m winner last winter; open to improvement and can be involved.

He's A Latchico

(7) He's A Latchico 11/4, Good strike rate on the Flat and duly left novice form behind switched to handicaps in this sphere during the summer, scoring twice at up to 19f on good/good to firm at Fontwell. Up 9 lb for latest win, but remains open to improvement and bold show likely, provided the ground isn't on the slow side.
Progressive dual-purpose 5yo; heavy/soft against him of late; well treated back hurdling.
LTO Selection:

12:45 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KLITSCHKO hasn't done too much wrong in four starts to date and his battling Plumpton success took a big boost when the runner-up came out and won by 23 lengths next time out. He now starts handicap life off a fair mark of 120 and, providing he's anywhere near peak fitness on his seasonal debut, he will take some stopping. The hat-trick seeking He's A Latchico and Zambezi Fix could put up most resistance.

It's probably fair to say that KLITSCHKO was a shade disappointing on the whole in his three runs over hurdles last season, given the impression he created when winning a bumper at Huntingdon on debut. However, there's a strong sense that there's much better to come from this 5-y-o, particularly now that he ventures down the handicap route off a potentially handy opening mark. The hat-trick seeking He's A Latchico is the obvious threat.

In the hope that HE'S A LATCHICO can overcome ground that will be slower than ideal, he is taken to make the most of his low mark.

LTO Selection:

13:20 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MANINSANE arguably produced a career-best performance when runner-up at Exeter three weeks ago and entitled to improve for that first outing since April, he is fancied to go one better. Will Sting reportedly made a respiratory noise when pulling up last time, but he won impressively on his penultimate outing and has a definite chance on his reappearance. Chasing newcomer Mister Who adds further spice to the race.

OXYGEN failed to fire over hurdles for Venetia Williams last term but showed promise on his only previous go over fences in France so gets the vote in a race where lots arrive with question marks against them. Maninsane appeals as the chief threat on the back of his good recent Exeter second ahead of chasing-newcomer Mister Who.

It would be no surprise if OXYGEN burst into life on his chasing debut for an in-form yard.

LTO Selection:

13:55 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Bumper winner Land Genie looked a little one-paced on his hurdling bow at Carlisle, but he is upped in trip now which may see him in a better light. He can go well alongside winning pointer De Tellers Fortune, who is worth a market check, but a chance is taken on SUPPORT ACT. He was impressive when making all to win his bumper at Wetherby and, if he can transfer that to hurdles, he could be well above-average.

This longer trip is a big plus for LAND GENIE, who shaped like a stayer when an encouraging second on his hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. He can open his account in this sphere. There are several interesting debutants in opposition, with De Tellers Fortune and Support Act particularly respected.

Among some interesting contenders, impressive bumper winner SUPPORT ACT is given the nod.

14:30 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BRANDISOVA looks the sensible choice with her experience over fences a bonus, and a win at Fakenham to her name also helps. If she is ready to roll on her return to action then she may start the new season with a victory. Williamdeconqueror was beaten less than a length into fifth at Warwick when last seen in April and a repeat of that effort gives him a solid chance, while Bobalot is an interesting alternative.

The vote goes to the mare BRANDISOVA, who didn't do much wrong when finding one too good in her hat-trick attempt at Huntingdon in April and she resumes on the same mark. Williamdeconqueror appeared to be getting the hang of things towards the end of last season and will be a threat if picking up where he left off, while it will be interesting to see if Captain Claude is allowed to make his chase debut here on the back of a fairly encouraging reappearance effort over hurdles on Sunday.

The safest option appears to be BRANDISOVA, who was in good form in the spring.

15:05 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The Venetia Williams stable has been in terrific form of late and, after a promising return over shorter at Plumpton, BURROWS PARK looks to have been found an ideal opportunity of getting back to winning ways. He should be well suited by this test and is preferred to Fifty Ball and Halondo, who was an easy winner at Market Rasen on his penultimate outing.

A small field but all have something to recommend them. BURROWS PARK is too well handicapped to ignore and gets the vote to build on last week's Plumpton reappearance now returning to a more suitable trip. Bells of Peterboro has shaped quite well in a couple of chases this autumn and is second choice back over the smaller obstacles.

After running well in a big-field chase last month, BELLS OF PETERBORO (nap) reverts to hurdling on a good mark.

(7) Shewearsthewellies 4/1, Left last season's efforts in maiden hurdles behind when making a successful handicap debut at Fontwell in September. Backed it up when second at Plumpton since. Has the odd quirk and may benefit from the cheekpieces which are now added to her tongue tie. Big player.
In good form and has solid claims, especially if cheekpieces give some help.

(2) Emotional Memories 22/1, Showed ability in a bumper and first form over hurdles when third in a Uttoxeter maiden in September. Tailed off back there since and this opening handicap mark isn't obviously generous.
Good third two starts ago; all other displays modest; handicap debut.

Consistent and ran well on this month's return; 1-29 in career and this trip is new.

(5) Robinsville 3/1, Just his second outing in a handicap when an improved second in 18.5f Newton Abbot handicap back in May. Steps up significantly in trip on his return for a yard going quite well. Less exposed than the majority of these and Freddie Gingell takes 7 lb off.
Best effort when second in May on latest start; should be suited by this longer trip.

15:40 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHEWEARSTHEWELLIES seems to have come back a different mare after wind surgery and she must hold every chance if building on a strong runner-up effort at Plumpton, where she was slightly short of room and a bit unlucky three out. Not beaten far at Stratford on his return, Kenny George looks just the type to improve for going up in distance, while Robinsville has the form to get involved.

Joe Tizzard has been among the winners in November so it might be worth siding with the unexposed ROBINSVILLE, who was a good second at Newton Abbot when last seen in May and has Freddie Gingell taking a very handy 7 lb off. Shewearsthewellies has improved since handicapping and is an obvious threat, particularly if first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect. Ernie Bilko is one to note in the betting on his return from an absence.

Two good efforts this autumn point the way to SHEWEARSTHEWELLIES in this open handicap.
