12:10 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With the Nicky Henderson team starting to get into top gear it may be sensible to side with BY THE GRACE. The four-year-old is having her second start after coming home second at Southwell in May and is reported to be in great shape ahead of her return. That experience may give her the edge. Mr Monopoly is an interesting runner for Harry Fry and could be one to watch, along with Solid Silver, a rare bumper runner for Sir Mark Prescott.

BY THE GRACE found only one with experience on her side too strong at Southwell back in May so provided she's ready to roll after 6 months off, Nicky Henderson's filly gets the nod to go a place better at the expense of Seaside Legend, who has clearly had his problems (bled last time and makes reappearance following a second wind op) but showed a fair level of ability on debut. Newcomers Mr Monopoly and Solid Silver look best of the rest.

Preference is for Sir Mark Prescott's newcomer SOLID SILVER, who has AW winners in her pedigree.

LTO Selection:

12:45 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THE IMPOSTER hasn't been seen since April but he arrives with six wins from his last seven races, unbeaten on both appearances here, and has been a revelation since stepping up in trip. He does have a new high mark to suffer but if able to keep on improving, the six-year-old may add to past successes. Ben Lilly was value for further after idling in front when winning at Wincanton last month and could go well, with Leading Swoop and Scamallach Liath others for the shortlist.

SCAMALLACH LIATH shaped well without getting his head in front for Oliver Sherwood last term and is fancied to capitalise on a lenient mark now starting out for Harry Derham. The Imposter enjoyed a fine campaign last season when going in no less than six times and this C&D winner is feared most on his return ahead of in-form duo Halligator and Ben Lilly.

The progressive THE IMPOSTER could continue his winning streak.

Ran well for a long way at Fontwell in September but has become very unreliable.
LTO Selection:

13:20 Lingfield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Malinas Island has won here over hurdles and he could be interesting making his chasing debut, but he has been off since March 2022 and a market watch may be a good guide to his chances now. SAFE DESTINATION showed improved form when winning fairly easily at Uttoxeter and although worse off with runner-up Kap Chidley, his jumping may see him confirm that form, though it could be considerably closer between the pair if the Tim Vaughan gelding improves for his first start of the season.

SAFE DESTINATION left his chasing debut form well behind when beating Kap Chidley by 4 lengths at Uttoxeter last month and he can confirm the placings despite a 5 lb swing. Le Tueur can make his presence felt if ready to go.

Safe Destination drew 4l clear of KAP CHIDLEY on the run-in at Uttoxeter last month but the latter might turn the tables here.

LTO Selection:

13:55 Lingfield Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Havaila was heading in the right direction over jumps last season and a recent spin on the Flat should put Milton Harris' charge spot on for this contest. However, seasonal debutant TOTTERDOWN boasts a good record when fresh and makes slightly more appeal. The veteran wasn't beaten far when finishing fifth at Newbury in March and his rider's 7lb allowance puts him on an attractive mark. Yorksea and Go Dante are others to note at the top of the handicap.

YORKSEA has a good record at around this trip over hurdles and, having shaped well on the level at Goodwood 18 days ago, he makes plenty of appeal. Branson Missouri is respected back in handicap company on her seasonal return, while Go Dante may have benefited from a breathing operation and is still relatively unexposed.

There is more to come from HAVAILA (nap), who was placed in a hot juvenile handicap at Ascot in April and is only 2lb higher here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BIG BLUE MOON was thwarted in his bid to land a quick-fire double when a close-up second at Chepstow in late-March, but compensation could await the gelding now tackling fences for the first time. Tom Lacey's strapping six-year-old looks the just the sort to excel in this sphere, with the step up in distance expected to suit too. Zestful Hope has chase experience to his name and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Hot Rod Lincoln.

SPORTING MIKE was pretty reliable over hurdles last season and, as a winning pointer, he appeals as the type to do better in this sphere, so he's worth chancing to make a successful return in an open race. Zestful Hope is a danger with a run under his belt and Big Blue Moon is another notable chasing newcomer.

The tentative selection is HOT ROD LINCOLN, who impressed on his Irish point debut in 2021 and signed off with a hurdling win in May.

15:05 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Rockstown Native arguably sets the standard of those with hurdling experience and the son of Califet shouldn't be far away if building on last month's Warwick second. Preference, however, is for the Dan Skelton-trained ILLICO DE COTTE. An easy winner of his sole point-to-point, the selection may have too much class for these rivals and can land this novice contest en route to better things. Face D'music also enters calculations.

Having shown encouragement in bumpers, ROCKSTOWN NATIVE shaped better still sent hurdling after 6 months off when runner-up at Warwick in October and can continue his progress to open his account under Rules. Illico de Cotte is feared most.

The most interesting runner is impressive Irish point winner ILLICO DE COTTE, who could have a very good future under rules.

15:40 Lingfield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Winning pointer JOHNNYWHO confirmed himself an exciting prospect for Jonjo O'Neill when readily landing a Taunton bumper on his rules debut in March and it would be no surprise to see him make a successful start over hurdles. Fellow bumper scorer Ten Lengths Tom also warrants a second look along with Ben Pauling's French recruit Sun Joy, whilst Impact Du Bonheur is probably better than he showed on his hurdling debut at Wincanton and shouldn't be written off.

JOHNNYWHO was amongst the most exciting bumper winners in Britain last season and he's fancied to confirm himself a smart prospect by making a successful hurdles debut. Ben Pauling's French recruit Sun Joy has bags of experience at a good standard, so should prove a worthy rival for the selection, whilst Ten Lengths Tom also created a good impression in bumpers last year and is preferred for third to Paul Nicholls' Impact du Bonheur, who has to shrug off an underwhelming UK debut.

The unbeaten JOHNNYWHO has been impressive when winning an Irish point and a bumper and he could have a bright future over hurdles.

Testing conditions should aid the mud-loving WALK IN THE WILD who is unbeaten here in two starts. The seven-year-old proved he could be readied to win fresh when scoring on his reappearance here a year ago and he is rated just 1lb higher than when following up in comfortable fashion. Stablemate Abingworth is better than he showed on ground livelier than ideal at Fontwell on his reappearance but a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of handicap debutant Wonderweasle.

WALK IN THE WILD arrives operating just 1 lb above the mark he defied when scoring over C&D 12 months ago and, having proven his effectiveness when fresh previously, it would come as no surprise to see him make a bold bid here. Wonderweasle rates an interesting chase debutante and she's worth a look, with Templier another not out of things.

With two course wins last November, WALK IN THE WILD looks the likeliest answer to this.
