1st (1) (3/1 +63%) Swiss Pride |
3/1(+63%) | (1) Swiss Pride 3/1, 6-time C&D winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 7/2, bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 40 days ago, not ideally placed. Others preferred. Multiple C&D winner; drop into Class 6 a big plus but stall 12 isn't. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 +20%) Alfred Cove |
8/1(+20%) | (6) Alfred Cove 8/1, Off the mark in 7-runner handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good to firm) 23 days ago, always holding on. This looks more competitive but he ought to go well again nonetheless. Off the mark at Brighton last month on 17th start; 3lb rise shouldn't prevent a big run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (22/1 -10%) Port Noir |
22/1(-10%) | (9) Port Noir 22/1, Latest win here in May. 9/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at Chepstow (6.1f, good to firm) 12 days ago, slowly away. Claims on best form. Two good runs were followed by a lesser effort 12 days ago; revival needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (7.5/1 +85%) Fristel |
7.5/1(+85%) | (11) Fristel 7.5/1, Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs. 28/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, firm) 8 days ago, would have benefited from stronger handling. Blinkers on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Exposed maiden who hasn't progressed from early promise; now tried blinkered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3.33/1 -33%) Big Bard |
3.33/1(-33%) | (4) Big Bard 3.33/1, 2 wins from 4 runs this year. 10/11, didn't need to improve to win 6-runner handicap at Brighton (6f, good) 50 days ago. 3 lb lower now and is one for shortlist. Chasing a hat-trick and he has a lower mark to exploit back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (10/1 -67%) Howyoulikemenow |
10/1(-67%) | (5) Howyoulikemenow 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 28/1, sixth of 11 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Should have more to offer. Unexposed 3yo; shaped well on debut but less good since; headgear on for h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (33/1 +0%) Miss Connaisseur |
33/1(+0%) | (12) Miss Connaisseur 33/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 150/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Southwell (15.8f, good) 29 days ago. Poor on the Flat, creditable on last Flat outing. Plenty to find on form. Exposed low-grade maiden; easy enough to take on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (9/1 +25%) Miss Moonshine |
9/1(+25%) | (10) Miss Moonshine 9/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in February. 66/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Goodwood (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. C&D winner off this mark in Feb; struggled on turf this summer; revival on the cards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (28/1 -40%) Firenze Rosa |
28/1(-40%) | (8) Firenze Rosa 28/1, Fourth of 7 in handicap (9/2) at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) 35 days ago. Others more appealing. 0-8 on AW but has run well over C&D; in fair form on turf this year; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (18/1 -13%) First Company |
18/1(-13%) | (3) First Company 18/1, One win from 26 Flat runs. Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. 4/1, 4½ lengths seventh of 8 to Port Noir in handicap at Lingfield (6f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Something to find on form. Hard to win with but he went close on his penultimate start; usually worth taking on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (5.5/1 +21%) Aces Wild |
5.5/1(+21%) | (2) Aces Wild 5.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. 11/2, career best when winning 8-runner maiden at Dundalk (6f), driven out. Off 167 days. First run for yard after leaving John McConnell. Market check advised. Dundalk maiden winner in Jan (6f); sold for 8,000euros in Feb; considered on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Aces Wild broke his maiden at the fifth time of asking at Dundalk in January and warrants a second look on his return to handicap company. However, a tentative vote is given to HOWYOULIKEMENOW, who makes her handicap debut in first-tme cheekpieces. She drops in trip following a disappointing run over 7f at Wolverhampton earlier this month and is taken to improve, while recent turf winner Alfred Cove is another to consider off 3lb higher.
BIG BARD finds himself 3 lb lower than when scoring at Brighton last month and gets the nod in a tricky-looking opener. Red Alert and Alfred Cove head the list of dangers.
Several in-form sprinters on show but her debut effort suggests HOWYOULIKEMENOW could have been let into handicaps lightly.

2nd (1) (3.5/1 +83%) Commander Of Life |
3.5/1(+83%) | (1) Commander Of Life 3.5/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighth of 10 in maiden at Leicester (6f, good, 28/1) on debut 23 days ago. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-125%) | (11) Jakima 18/1, Foaled April 30. Kodiac filly. Half-sister to useful French 1m/9f winner Turea. Represents a top yard and the market should be revealing. Half-sister to a useful winner out of a Listed winner; drawn widest; may need further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 -150%) Quantum Force |
10/1(-150%) | (7) Quantum Force 10/1, Foaled March 20. £65,000 yearling, Land Force colt. Half-brother to 6f/7f winner Global Acclamation and 5f-1m winner Aussie Rocks. Plenty to like on paper for yard that is no stranger to success with 2-y-o newcomers. £65,000 half-brother to two winners; powerful stable; check the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (40/1 -300%) Flemish |
40/1(-300%) | (10) Flemish 40/1, Foaled March 22. Awtaad filly. Half-sister to numerous winners, including high-class 5f/6f winner G Force and smart 1m-1¼m winner Laajooj. Dam 5f winner (including at 2 yrs). Worth a peek in the betting. Half-sister to 13 winners, incl top-class G Force; yard have modest strike-rate with 2yos. |

14/1(+0%) | (5) Miggy Magic 14/1, Foaled January 21. €110,000 yearling, Dark Angel colt. Closely related to useful winner up to 6f Royal Mehmas and half-brother to 3 winners, including very smart winner up to 6f Big Time Baby. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (22/1 +67%) Irrelevant |
22/1(+67%) | (4) Irrelevant 22/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in maiden (28/1) at Newbury (6f, good) on debut 34 days ago. Probably more one for nurseries further down the line. Dropped away to be beaten 13l at Newbury on last month's debut; plenty more required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (20/1 -100%) Tactical Control |
20/1(-100%) | (8) Tactical Control 20/1, £78,000 yearling. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 7f-8.3f winner George William and 7f/7.5f winner Bengal Bay. Dam 1m winner. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (40/1 -21%) Havana Touch |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Havana Touch 40/1, Foaled February 14. 18,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 6f winner Gaallib and 5f-6f winner The Hulk. Dam 6f winner (including at 2 yrs). Entitled to come on for the run. 18,000gns half-brother to three winners; drawn wide for debut and likely best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (200/1 -33%) Mighty Pearl |
200/1(-33%) | (6) Mighty Pearl 200/1, Once-raced maiden. 100/1, eighth of 9 in minor event at Bath (5.7f, firm) on debut 13 days ago. Readily passed over. 100-1 and offered little when eighth of nine at Bath 13 days ago (5.5f, firm). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EL BODON made a pleasing start to his racing career when filling the runner-up spot at Yarmouth last month. A half-brother to Listed winner Pillow Talk, Jane Chapple-Hyam's 150,000gns purchase likely has more to offer and he rates the one to beat with that experience under his belt. The unraced Jakima is fairly well-related and can give the selection plenty to think about, while fellow debutant Quantum Force completes the shortlist.
Several of the newcomers are appealing on paper but EL BODON was a promising second on debut at Yarmouth and can put that experience to good use here. The winner of that race wasn't beaten far in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, which augurs well. Of the newcomers, Quantum Force could be the pick, though Tactical Control, Jakima and Miggy Magic (in that order of preference) are other likely-looking types.
Some interesting newcomers on show but EL BODON looked promising at Yarmouth and he can put that experience to good use.

1st (8) (4/1 +27%) Mr Fayez |
4/1(+27%) | (8) Mr Fayez 4/1, Remains a maiden after 25 Flat runs. Shaped as if still in form when runner-up at Brighton last time but he's clearly tough to win with. Exposed maiden; usually runs his race but this sharp 5f might prove an inadequate test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2.5/1 +38%) Therehegoes |
2.5/1(+38%) | (2) Therehegoes 2.5/1, Latest win at Windsor in June. Shaped as if still in form when third of 11 in handicap (6/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 3 days ago. Likely to be on the premises again. Two wins this year and another good run on Monday; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7.5/1 +6%) Suanni |
7.5/1(+6%) | (3) Suanni 7.5/1, 15/2, seventh of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, good to firm) 7 days ago. Not easy to make a case for based on recent efforts, although had an excuse on latest. Down in weights but badly out of sorts so far this year; too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +27%) Big Time Maybe |
2/1(+27%) | (1) Big Time Maybe 2/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win at Brighton in May. Good second of 6 in handicap at Brighton (6f, good to firm, 9/1) 9 days ago. In fine form of late and should take all the beating. Two wins last month, including C&D; held form since; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (8.5/1 -42%) Perfect Symphony |
8.5/1(-42%) | (7) Perfect Symphony 8.5/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in April. 11/4, creditable 2¼ lengths second of 8 to Big Time Maybe in handicap at this C&D (AW) 40 days ago. Should give another good account. Sprung 66-1 surprise over C&D in April; second here twice since; each-way claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 -13%) Hey Ho Let's Go |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Hey Ho Let's Go 18/1, 3-time C&D winner. Fifth of 6 in handicap (33/1) at this C&D (AW) 16 days ago. Struggling for form lately. Should be well treated but he's not fired on all cylinders this year; enough to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MR FAYEZ has been knocking on the door of late and rates the one to beat following a fair second at Brighton earlier this month in classified stakes company. The gelded son of Ajaya is taken to get the better of the equally consistent Perfect Symphony, who retains the mark as when he filled the runner-up spot over C&D last time out. Therehegoes is another to bear in mind following a decent third at Wolverhampton on Monday.
BIG TIME MAYBE has been in terrific form lately and his latest second at Brighton has been boosted by the winner since, so he's a confident choice to make all at the possible expense of Perfect Symphony, who he beat over C&D in May. Therehegoes can also get involved if he's not caught wide from stall 7.
Big Time Maybe can go well but this looks to present the veteran STORM MELODY with a suitable opportunity.

1st (4) (4.5/1 +10%) Kimnkate |
4.5/1(+10%) | (4) Kimnkate 4.5/1, Good fourth of 12 in handicap (18/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 14 days ago, nearest finish. Blinkers on 1st time. Worthy of interest. 0-8 but she's on a reduced mark and could be in the mix back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3.5/1 -27%) Double Down |
3.5/1(-27%) | (6) Double Down 3.5/1, Good third of 9 in handicap (7/2) at this C&D (AW) 12 days ago, suited by way race developed. Expected to be bang there. 0-9 but he finished well to go close over C&D last time; key player off unchanged mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2.5/1 +50%) Chalk Mountain |
2.5/1(+50%) | (1) Chalk Mountain 2.5/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in April. 7/2, creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7.6f, good to firm) 19 days ago, slowly away. One to consider. Won on Tapeta (7f) in April but has not matched that form in two runs since; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 -243%) No News |
12/1(-243%) | (5) No News 12/1, Very good second of 13 in handicap (14/1) at Kempton (7f) 43 days ago, clear of rest. 0-10 but he went close at Kempton (7f) last time and is respected back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6.5/1 +41%) Eight Mile |
6.5/1(+41%) | (3) Eight Mile 6.5/1, C&D winner. Winner here in March. Thirteenth of 15 in handicap (12/1) at Redcar (7f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Return to this track could help. C&D winner in March and he had an excuse at Redcar last time; dangerous back at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 +0%) Daisy Roots |
7/1(+0%) | (7) Daisy Roots 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 22/1, excellent fourth of 11 in handicap at this course (7f, AW) 16 days ago. Should give another good account. Fair fourth over 7f here last time but not sure this step back up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (7/1 +30%) Rhythm And Tyne |
7/1(+30%) | (2) Rhythm And Tyne 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (11.5f, good to firm, 20/1) 14 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Blinkered for 1st time. Something to prove. Five-race maiden who needs a transformation on this drop back to 1m; first-time blinkers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
No News has been much improved since a gelding operation and after a Yarmouth third, he went one better at Kempton. He has been raised 3lb and the winner has done little for the form since, so he is passed over in favour of DOUBLE DOWN, who got going too late but still managed to finish third over C&D earlier this month. Able to compete off the same rating now, he can break through. Kimnkate took a step in the right direction at Chelmsford, while Chalk Mountain tries a mile for the first time and can be keen.
NO NEWS bumped into a progressive rival at Kempton last time and this race doesn't look as strong, so he gets the nod ahead of Double Down, who ran with credit over C&D 12 days ago. Kimnkate is another one to consider.
Preference is for DOUBLE DOWN, who went close from a wide draw over C&D 12 days ago and is a key player off an unchanged mark.

1st (2) (4.5/1 -35%) Aljari |
4.5/1(-35%) | (2) Aljari 4.5/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. 7/2, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f), no match for winner. Off 157 days. Considered. On downgrade but handicapped accordingly; repeat of latest effort would give him claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (1.38/1 +77%) Sharp Power |
1.38/1(+77%) | (7) Sharp Power 1.38/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Goodwood (7f, heavy, 12/1) 47 days ago. Not completely dismissed. Similar form in 4 starts; improvement required to win but still early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (8/1 -78%) Gobi Sunset |
8/1(-78%) | (3) Gobi Sunset 8/1, Twenty three runs since last win in 2021. 14/1, last of 6 in handicap at Carlisle (7.8f, good) 31 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Well short of his best on last five starts; others come here with less to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 +14%) Shades Of Summer |
6/1(+14%) | (1) Shades Of Summer 6/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in April. Respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm, 13/2) 14 days ago. Should give her running again but others look better treated. Three Chelmsford wins (6f-7f); drop back into a Class 5 a plus; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (20/1 -122%) Prince Nabeel |
20/1(-122%) | (8) Prince Nabeel 20/1, 11/2, respectable fourth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7f). Off 120 days. Could make presence felt if ready to go after a break. Consistent maiden; likely to run well but might find something stronger once again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (7.5/1 -25%) Protest Rally |
7.5/1(-25%) | (10) Protest Rally 7.5/1, Winning handicap debut at Southwell in May. Creditable second of 10 in handicap (9/2) at Nottingham (6.1f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Could get back to winning ways returned to AW. Improved in 6f handicaps the last twice; perhaps not straightforward; 7f can help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (9/1 -13%) Icy Dip |
9/1(-13%) | (6) Icy Dip 9/1, Latest win at Kempton in April. Tenth of 13 in handicap (6/1) at Newmarket (8f, good) 35 days ago, left poorly placed. Not one to write off back on polytrack. Too free and ran poorly on turf latest; two Kempton wins beforehand; still unexposed on AW. |

100/1(-203%) | (5) Iconic Knight 100/1, Last of 8 in handicap at Chepstow (7.1f, good to firm, 25/1) 12 days ago. Others more persuasive. Low-key return at Chepstow 12 days ago; not easily recommended on the back of that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (50/1 -355%) Superluminal |
50/1(-355%) | (9) Superluminal 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Second of 9 in minor event at Windsor (8.1f, soft, 50/1) 52 days ago. Makes handicap debut. More required. Remote 2nd behind a useful sort at Windsor last time; opening mark looks stiff enough. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHARP POWER seems quite nicely treated on what he showed in maiden/novice company as a juvenile, and there was encouragement to take from his comeback fifth on his handicap debut at Goodwood. It may be that he is happiest on an artificial surface and he gets the nod at the chief expense of Icy Dip, who should also relish the return to the all-weather after struggling at Newmarket. There is more to come from Protest Rally, while Aljari and Shades Of Summer are a couple more of interest.
PROTEST RALLY did well (caught wide) to make a winning handicap debut at Southwell and he ran well in defeat at Nottingham since, so he gets the nod ahead of Icy Dip, who should also benefit from a return to AW. Aljari also merits respect.
Shades Of Summer can go well back down in grade but ICY DIP will appreciate the return to Polytrack and is marginally preferred.

12/1(-9%) | (3) Atwixaday 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form third of 7 in handicap (25/1) at Bath (11.6f, good to firm) 36 days ago. More needed from current mark. Well held in all four runs and he needs a transformation back on AW. |

8th (2) (28/1 -56%) Deshi Girl |
28/1(-56%) | (2) Deshi Girl 28/1, First run since leaving B. Seemar when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, good to firm, 25/1) on UK debut 23 days ago. Cheekpieces on for first time and she has a lot to prove. Has generally struggled in her six runs and has plenty to prove on this step up to 1m4f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ROYAL ATHENA posted a career-best performance when winning over course and distance 10 days ago, on what was her first attempt at this trip. Tom Ward's filly should continue to progress over middle distances and is fancied to shrug off a 6lb penalty. Recent Wolverhampton scorer Philos should remain competitive from a 4lb raised mark, while it would be no surprise were handicap debutant La Espanola to make an impact now pitched in at a moderate level.
ROYAL ATHENA produced a big career best on her first crack at this trip when successful here 10 days ago and a penalty won't stop a very bold follow-up bid. Fellow last-time-out scorer Philos is the obvious threat, with Alex The Great a potential improver tackling a more suitable trip.
This is a tight call between the two recent winners in Philos and ROYAL ATHENA but the vote goes to the latter.

11th (7) (33/1 -65%) Headshot |
33/1(-65%) | (7) Headshot 33/1, Dropped in the weights without looking like cashing in to end 2022, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 16/1). Off 174 days. 5yo who has lost his way and has plenty to prove back form 174 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
STREETSTORM rattled home to finish a narrow second over 1m here last time, leaving the suggestion she ought to be even better over this longer trip. The Night Of Thunder filly is fancied to go one better from just 1lb higher, while Optik has finished second on his last two starts and could improve for the addition of a first-time visor. Brilliant Blue is another to consider.
STREETSTORM would probably have won with a clear passage here 12 days ago, and with this trip well worth exploring, she looks the way to go. Brilliant Blue is well weighted these days so needs considering, along with Naasma eased in class.
The pick is STREETSTORM (nap), who finished well when going very close over 1m here last time and is only 1lb higher at this new trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
