11:45 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PRINCESS PW has offered plenty of encouragement on both runner-up efforts to date and she may be worth persevering with. Her latest second at Wolverhampton reads well with the third subsequently hitting the frame again, and Gay Kelleway's filly looks ready to open her account. Jane Garfield didn't enjoy the best of passages when sixth at Dunstall Park last month and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Solar Pass.

PRINCESS PW has found just one too good on both outings so far, but she looks to have been found a good opportunity to make it third time lucky, so Gay Kelleway's filly gets the nod ahead of Solar Pass, who left her debut effort well behind when finishing runner-up over C&D last month. Jane Garfield can edge out Princess Mia for the bronze medal.

Solid-looking PRINCESS PW gets the vote, ahead of Solar Pass who ran well over C&D last time.

12:15 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having made the frame on his last three outings, compensation could be heading in JIFF'S ARMY's direction. A reproduction of his last third at Wolverhampton may prove sufficient and Stuart Williams' charge shades the verdict over Mrs Dowley. The Footstepsinthesand filly arrives on the back of a close-up second at Chelmsford and she isn't taken lightly. Market support for newcomer Seconds Count, a half-sister to the smart Substantial, would be interesting.

JIFF'S ARMY has placed in maidens on his last 3 starts, third at Wolverhampton on his latest outing despite having been left poorly placed, so he could be ready to open his account. He sets the standard and is taken to overcome stall 7, though Mrs Dowley is respected having shaped encouragingly in her 2 races so far, with Seconds Count one to note on debut.

Interesting newcomers SECONDS COUNT and War And Love head the shortlist. Mrs Dowley and Jiff's Army bring the best form.

12:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A wind procedure worked the oracle for recent 66-1 C&D winner Rainyniteingeorgia and a 5lb penalty shouldn't prevent another bold bid from Alice Haynes' filly. However, HARB looks a more solid proposition after his track-and-trip triumph in November and a 2lb rise may prove to be lenient. Nogo's Dream hasn't proved the easiest to win with, but the reapplication of cheekpieces could enable an improved bid.

Cases can be made for most of these but the most persuasive is for MASTER OF MY FATE, who doubled his tally at Southwell last month and ran creditably attempting to follow up from 4 lb higher at Wolverhampton 8 days later. Harb came late to resume winning ways over C&D just over 6 weeks ago, so he may emerge as the main danger, with Gogo Yubari and recent big-priced C&D scorer Rainyniteingeorgia taken to fight out minor honours.

Being a nicely treated contender who has an excellent record at this course, GOGO YUBARI (nap) is preferred. Harb is second choice.

13:15 Lingfield Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dropping back down in trip appears to be an interesting move for DAMASCUS STEEL, who has a good record over this sort of distance and can make the most of a competitive rating. Early Morning Dew was reliable to follow last year and needs to be taken seriously. The Nicky Henderson-trained Therapist reverts to the Flat on a winnable mark and also commands respect.

CRYSTAL MARINER has made a positive start for this yard, pulling clear of the rest when beaten only by a thriving sort at Kempton last time, and he's taken to go one better. Therapist ran well back on the Flat when third here last month and is feared returned to a more suitable trip, with Gallant Lion another to consider back down in class.

The one with most potential is HEBRIDEAN NOMAD, who was returning from a long absence when fourth on last month's handicap debut.

13:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Havana Sky rounded out a five-timer with a comfortable success at Wolverhampton last week and is a must for the shortlist given he is 2lb well-in. However, his previous attempts over 7f were less inspiring and with that in mind, dual C&D winner TADREEB could be worth chancing from a whopping 22lb below his last winning mark. Lord Rapscallion is another viable alternative on these terms.

HAVANA SKY has been thriving of late, getting the better of another penalised runner when scoring at Wolverhampton a week ago, and he can go on to land the 6-timer in his current mood. Charlie Mason has made the frame on his last 5 starts and could be the main danger, with dual C&D winner Tadreeb also considered on stable debut.

The most obvious answer is thriving 4yo HAVANA SKY, who ended 2024 with five wins over 6f and is probably still ahead of the game.

14:15 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mount Mogan is notably well handicapped off 5lb lower than a C&D win 14 months ago, while Sedgemoor, in a first-time tongue-tie, and Star Pupil, who also tries new headgear, are potential improvers to consider. However, OVERNIGHT OATS, who has won four of his last five starts, is worth forgiving his latest effort given he was forced to race wide and didn't get a clear run over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day. Reverting to 7f and this venue can prove highly beneficial for James Owen's gelding today.

OVERNIGHT OATS can quickly resume winning ways in a weak event. The drop back in trip in first-time blinkers looks an interesting move for Star Pupil and he's feared most.

5yo OVERNIGHT OATS had a wide trip in his bid for a five-timer on Boxing Day and he can get back on the scoresheet here.

14:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The winner of two her last three outings, SILVER NIGHTFALL returned the emphatic winner over 1m3f at Kempton last time. She beat a subsequent winner on that occasion and is taken to defy a 4lb rise on the strength of that form. Rey De La Batalla is of interest stepping up in distance after a creditable fourth over a mile here, while the unexposed Detroit Lion looks a likely improver for the Richard Hannon team.

SILVER NIGHTFALL continues to go from strength to strength for this yard and produced a career best to resume winning ways in comfortable fashion from a subsequent winner at Kempton last month and a 4 lb rise may underestimate her. Detroit Lion and Etretat both shaped better than the bare result last time and they head the dangers.

Handicap debutant JOYCEAN WAY looks interesting on his belated return to action. Silver Nightfall is second pick.

15:15 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SECRET FORCE left himself with plenty to do after missing the break at Kempton on his racecourse debut. The son of Frankel failed to threaten that day, but finished with a late flourish and Charlie Appleby's inmate will know more here. Boatswain cost 240,000gns as a yearling and is worth closely monitoring on debut with his yard in such good form, while both Queen Of Mercia and Broker Charlie represent powerful teams and are other newcomers to note.

The well-bred SECRET FORCE offered enough on his debut over C&D to suggest he can win a novice. There are some interesting newcomers in opposition, namely Boatswain, Broker Charlie and Queen of Mercia.

The form standard is ordinary but SECRET FORCE is one runner who could take a big step forward. A few of the newcomers are interesting.

15:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DOUBLETHETROUBLE was left with plenty of ground to make up at Kempton last time but missed out by only a nose when bidding for a hat-trick. Another prominent showing is expected from the seven-year-old and he can resume winning ways. Daaris has gone close in both starts since winning over 1m6f at Wolverhampton and is another with solid claims, while Sophosc is potentially well treated on this return to 2m and cannot be ruled out.

ARCH LEGEND is down to a very attractive mark (successful off 55 and 61 in the spring) and looks interesting in first-time headgear after his good second over C&D under this rider 12 days ago. Further Measure shaped as if ready to end his losing run at Wolverhampton last week and rates the main threat ahead of Doublethetrouble, who was thriving when last seen in the autumn.

Being unexposed over 2m, ARCH LEGEND could well build on his C&D effort and go one better. Sir Joseph Swan is second pick.
