The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GARDE LA PECHE made such an impression in a point-to-point at Durrow in March that she was since purchased by the high-flying Robcour outfit, and is now in the hands of Henry De Bromhead. This looks like a perfect way to get her career under Rules off to a flyer, with French recruit Judicieuse Allen looking best placed to chase her home, being by a sire that her trainer has had plenty of success with in the past. Pallas Athene arrives with a similar profile to the selection and must also enter calculations.
GARDE LA PECHE, Judicieuse Allen and Pallas Athene are interesting recruits for their top yards and could be the trio to concentrate on. Peference is for the first-named, who was a facile winner of a maiden point during the spring. Judicieuse Allen, runner-up on her sole start in France, is just about second choice ahead of Pallas Athene. Milanaway is not without each-way hope.
With the benefit of racecourse experience, JUDICIEUSE ALLEN could go one better than on debut in France back in January.

Hathaways Cottage |
(16) (4/1 -100%)4/1(-100%) | (16) Hathaways Cottage 4/1, Dual winning pointer, including last time (Dec 3). Likely sort for top yard in this sphere. Two wins from four starts in points; represents a top yard in this sphere and respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Romeo Magico |
(12) (5/2 +38%)5/2(+38%) | (12) Romeo Magico 5/2, Won a point in the spring and second when last seen in May. Tongue tie added for hunter debut. From a good stable and has to enter the reckoning. Winner and runner-up in points; likely to be still improving, so can be a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Casey West |
(4) (6/1 +33%)6/1(+33%) | (4) Casey West 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Arrives on the back of runner-up efforts in points. Not discounted on chase debut. Ability under rules in 2021; 2nd in two points for this yard lately and could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dromleigh |
(7) (9/2 +44%)9/2(+44%) | (7) Dromleigh 9/2, Point winner who shaped with encouragement when third of 6 in hunter at Fairyhouse (24.3f, heavy, 4/1) on debut over fences 33 days ago. Should go well. A close 3rd in a Fairyhouse hunter chase; a major player on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dul Ar Aghaidh |
(15) (10/1 -11%)10/1(-11%) | (15) Dul Ar Aghaidh 10/1, Dual winning pointer, including last time (Nov 25). Tongue tied for hunter debut. Would come into it if the betting speaks in his favour. Dual point winner; debut for this yard with a tongue-tie added and should run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John The Spark |
(9) (12/1 -50%)12/1(-50%) | (9) John The Spark 12/1, Third on hunter debut in April and arrives fit from 2 recent point wins. Dual point winner lately; looks an improved horse now; a player with cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Nene River |
(18) (15/2 +38%)15/2(+38%) | (18) Nene River 15/2, Point winner. In good hands now switching to a hunter. One to note in the betting if getting a run. RESERVE. Maiden point winner ran well enough in a winners' race lately but will have to step up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ask Mike |
(2) (18/1 +64%)18/1(+64%) | (2) Ask Mike 18/1, Made it sixth time lucky in points earlier this month (finished alone). Betting should help guide to expectations. Won a 6yo plus maiden point earlier this month; will have to step up plenty in this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(5) (25/1 +50%)25/1(+50%) | (5) Commander Of Ten 25/1, Fair hurdler in Britain. Has won a point for new connections. Could be up to making a impact on hunter debut. Won a maiden point and ran respectably in two winners races; will have to step up today. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Boss Robin |
(3) (66/1 -32%)66/1(-32%) | (3) Boss Robin 66/1, Second on first of 2 hunters in the spring. Might be sharper for a recent point outing. Second in a maiden hunter chase at Cork in April but has been below that form twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Arctic Skua |
(1) (125/1 -150%)125/1(-150%) | (1) Arctic Skua 125/1, Runner-up in last 2 points but well held on Rules debut 14 months ago. Runner-up in two maiden points but will have to step tackling this grade; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jimmybrien |
(8) (125/1 -150%)125/1(-150%) | (8) Jimmybrien 125/1, Well held in a bumper back in 2021 but has won one of his 5 point starts since. Hunter debut. Won a maiden point in November but was well beaten in a winners' race since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Salseros |
(13) (200/1 -300%)200/1(-300%) | (13) Salseros 200/1, Modest form at best under Rules for Barry Connell. Has reached the frame in points recently but likely still best watched here. Maiden under all codes will have to step up hugely on point form lately. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Trainer David Christie landed this contest last year and he can follow suit this time around with HATHAWAYS COTTAGE, who was an impressive winner of a Ballindenisk point-to-point earlier in the month. The daughter of Mahler remains totally unexposed after just four starts between the flags and is preferred to Romeo Magico and Dromleigh, who ran with plenty of credit when third at Fairyhouse last month.
DROMLEIGH made a promising start to his hunter career at Fairyhouse last month and gets the nod, although market confidence behind David Christie point winner Hathaways Cottage would put a slightly different slant on things. Romeo Magic is another interesting Rules newcomer.
HATHAWAYS COTTAGE is lightly raced in points and could be the one to focus on, representing the connections of last year's winner.

Hauturiere |
(2) (11/10 +0%)11/10(+0%) | (2) Hauturiere 11/10, Useful chaser. 5/1, 6¼ lengths fourth of 5 to Silent Approach in Gr 2 chase at Cork (16.7f, heavy) 17 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Ought to finish closer to Harmonya Maker back up in distance here. Yard has won both previous runnings of this. Has a few lengths to find with Harmonya Maker from their recent clash at Cork, sharper now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sainte Dona |
(5) (11/1 +45%)11/1(+45%) | (5) Sainte Dona 11/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 23f over hurdles. Hooded for 1st time, sixth of 7 in novice chase at Cork (21f, soft, 17/2) 31 days ago. Way below best when poor at Cork, shaping quite nicely prior to that, far from out of it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Harmonya Maker |
(1) (11/10 -38%)11/10(-38%) | (1) Harmonya Maker 11/10, Useful chaser. 6/5, respectable 3¼ lengths second of 5 to Silent Approach in Gr 2 chase at Cork (16.7f, heavy) 17 days ago. Significantly up in trip and she's the one to beat. Warm fav' when coming unstuck at Cork behind a shock winner (Hauturiere 4th), big shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Henning |
(3) (16/1 +36%)16/1(+36%) | (3) Henning 16/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 19f over hurdles. Fourth of 7 in novice chase at Cork (21f, soft, 12/1) 31 days ago. Rejoined yard after leaving Miss Shauna Larkin. Rated inferior to her main rivals over hurdles and yet to make a telling mark over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Merry Moves |
(4) (100/1 -25%)100/1(-25%) | (4) Merry Moves 100/1, Modest hurdler. One win from 21 NH runs. Good eighth of 22 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (23.9f, heavy, 18/1) 15 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Made a good fist of things on initial start over fences; largely downhill in the interim. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A beaten favourite when second in a Grade 2 at Cork last time, HARMONYA MAKER can gain compensation on the step up in trip, while upholding form with Hauturiere (fourth), who has three lengths to make up from that contest. Gordon Elliott's mare was a taking winner on her chase debut at Gowran Park and she remains open to plenty of improvement with conditions in her favour. Henning may have a bit to find with these on hurdle ratings, but she is a capable sort on her day.
HAUTURIERE was three lengths adrift of Harmonya Maker at Cork recently but she was unsuited by the drop in trip and it was her first run following a seven-month absence, whereas Gordon Elliott's charge had race-fitness on her side. Hauturiere remains capable of better and is taken to make it a third successive win in this race for the Willie Mullins yard. Harmonya Maker will nevertheless be a big threat if her stamina holds out, while Sainte Dona is best of the rest.
This looks likely to boil down to Hauturiere and HARMONYA MAKER with slight preference for the latter. Henning is not ignored.

(2) (10/11 +77%)10/11(+77%) | (2) Noble Yeats 10/11, Top-class chaser. 84/10, below form 15¼ lengths seventh of 18 to Rosario Baron in Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris at Auteuil (29.8f, soft). Off 7 months. Switches from chase to hurdles. The 2022 Grand National winner is less effective over hurdles but should be able to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
No Time To Wait |
(4) (11/8 -52%)11/8(-52%) | (4) No Time To Wait 11/8, Promising sort. 1 win from 2 runs this season. 3/1, career best when winning 24-runner novice hurdle at Cork (16.8f, heavy) 17 days ago, comfortably. Stable in good form. Sure to go well. Bumper winner won a Cork maiden hurdle last time; has a bit to find but is race-fit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sa Majeste |
(3) (11/2 -237%)11/2(-237%) | (3) Sa Majeste 11/2, Useful hurdler. 13/8, first run since leaving Y. Fouin when sixth of 9 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16f, good to soft) on IRE NH debut, finding nothing. Off 8 months. Open to improvement. Won a 4yo hurdle in France but was well beaten on Irish debut in April; capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Just Three |
(5) (40/1 -21%)40/1(-21%) | (5) Just Three 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, below form ninth of 22 in novice hurdle at Naas (16f, soft) 45 days ago. Back up in trip. Hood on 1st time. Has shown ability in two of his four maiden hurdle runs but has loads to find in this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Useful bumper performer NO TIME TO WAIT scored over timber at the second time of asking with a ready victory at Cork last time. The Walk In The Park gelding is clearly open to further improvement and is fancied to go in again. 2022 Grand National winner Noble Yeats has only one hurdling run to his name, a bloodless success in a Navan maiden back in March 2021. Emmet Mullins' charge is a fascinating contender, but probably has bigger targets for later in the season. Sa Majeste makes his seasonal return for powerful connections and warrants respect, especially if attracting support in the betting market.
This trip is on the short side for NOBLE YEATS, whose campaign will almost certainly be geared up around a third successive appearance in the Grand National at Aintree in April, a race that he won in 2022 and was a fine fourth last season. Still, he was an easy winner of his sole previous start in this sphere and could prove too strong for promising novice No Time To Wait and Sa Majeste, who failed to fire on debut for this yard but remains of interest in view of what he showed in France.
The 2022 Grand National winner NOBLE YEATS won his sole hurdling start in 2021 and should be too classy for these.

Won a maiden here prior to that. One to consider. Won a maiden hurdle here but disappointing in a handicap five days later; has to step up. |

Cosmic Rock |
(12) (4/1 +11%)4/1(+11%) | (12) Cosmic Rock 4/1, Course winner. 17/2 and tongue strap on for 1st time, bit below form fifth of 14 in handicap hurdle at this course (21f, heavy) 36 days ago, finding test too much. Enters calculations. Course winner an eyecatcher on return but a poor run since; can do better under top rider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Alpesh Amin |
(3) (5/2 +29%)5/2(+29%) | (3) Alpesh Amin 5/2, Course winner. 8/1, creditable third of 12 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (24.4f, soft) 31 days ago. Has good chance on form. Dual winner here has run well the last twice and a solid chance off the same mark. |

From The Ashes |
(8) (9/1 +10%)9/1(+10%) | (8) From The Ashes 9/1, Below form eighth of 15 in handicap hurdle (18/1) at Thurles (20.6f, soft) 34 days ago. Others more persuasive. Well beaten in two hurdle starts lately but is surely capable of much better off this mark. |

Makes handicap hurdle debut. Potential improver. Showed ability in bumpers; hasn't matched that in three maiden hurdles but is of interest. |

Farmix |
(1) (14/1 -40%)14/1(-40%) | (1) Farmix 14/1, Useful chaser winner in 2020/21 but hasn't been seen since. Can only really be watched after such a long absence. Off a reduced mark but has obvious questions to answer after almost three years away. |

Ardera Ru |
(4) (14/1 -155%)14/1(-155%) | (4) Ardera Ru 14/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. 7/1, good fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Thurles (22f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. In mostly good form over fences lately but hasn't much in hand off this hurdles mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Friends N Commerce |
(7) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (7) Friends N Commerce 22/1, Remains a maiden after 18 NH runs. Eleventh of 14 in handicap chase at Thurles (25f, good to soft, 8/1) 10 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Poor on handicap chase debut last time but could bounce back reverting to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Young Dev |
(2) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (2) Young Dev 22/1, Course winner. Latest win in hurdle here in December. Eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (24f, heavy, 12/1). Off 11 months. Has four wins at this track but hasn't run since disappointing at Fairyhouse in January. |

Others more persuasive. Poor the last twice; however, could show up better now tackling handicaps, so considered. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Farmix has some useful form in the book over both hurdles and fences, but Liz Doyle's eight-year-old has been off the track for the best part of three years and ALPESH AMIN may be a safer option. The selection posted a good effort when third over an extended 3m at Punchestown latest, but today's step back in distance is unlikely to unduly inconvenience him. Ardera Ru has largely held her form since returning in the autumn and also makes the shortlist, while little went right for Quest With Speed at Punchestown latest and he is another to consider.
Dual course scorer ALPESH AMIN stepped up on his reappearance when third at Punchestown last month and looks sure to go well at a track which clearly suits. November's course maiden winner Quest With Speed was hampered at a crucial stage when seventh on his subsequent handicap debut and can bounce back and provide the chief threat ahead of Cosmic Rock.
The most solid option looks to be ALPESH AMIN, who has won twice at this track and is in good form.

PETIT DEJEUNER ran out a decisive winner when opening her account on her handicap bow at Limerick last month. The five-year-old won with enough in hand that day to suggest that a 7lb rise in the ratings isn't insurmountable and she looks one to keep the right side of. New Barn Lane was behind the selection in second that day and he must enter calculations off only 2lb higher here, with Pidoyne and The Mass Path also requiring a second look.
There were positives to glean from A GREAT BUZZ's latest effort in a big-field Naas maiden and, with improvement on the cards now pitched into a handicap, she could be the answer. Pidoyne is probably high enough in the weights for now but she looks solid all the same and is feared most ahead of Johngus. Petit Dejeuner and New Barn Lane, first and second respectively over C&D last time, are others to consider.
If Cristiano Marealdo makes it off the subs bench but she should go close but of those guaranteed a run, THE TRUANT is preferrred

(4) (66/1 +34%)66/1(+34%) | (4) Le Grand Peinture 66/1, Pulled up in both points and tailed off in a bumper. 250's at Punchestown and ran accordingly, needs to have considerable improvement. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Winning 3m pointer HENS TOOTH won a shade cosily on his second appearance between the flags at Belclare in March. The five-year-old has since joined Willie Mullins and he may have enough speed to thwart likely threat Lough Owel. The gelded son of Hillstar boasts a similar profile to the selection and he isn't taken lightly. His stablemate Muhtaluza also makes some appeal on paper and the market should prove informative.
It's probably best to narrow this down to the Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott runners. HENS TOOTH gets the nod over Lough Owel and Muthaluza but the betting is sure to provide more clues.
With the runner-up from his 'Point' win franking the form, LOUGH OWEL(nap) is given the seal of approval
Ths is the racecard key.
