3rd (14) (11/1 -10%) West Of Carrig |
11/1(-10%) | (14) West Of Carrig 11/1, Multiple point winner (runner-up last time) but Rules form is uninspiring. Not a forlorn hope. The winner of three points and posted best RPR yet in defeat earlier this month. |

Dual winning pointer, pulled up last time (Dec 2023). The winner of two points but opposable on the balance of his form; off a year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A prolific winner in point-to-points, ROCKY'S HOWYA stands out here by virtue of his excellent fourth in the hunter chase at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival. He made a fine return to action after 18 months off when second to a smart rival in a point in November and this looks a good chance for him to get off the mark under Rules. Rules debutant Willitgoahead represents a top pointing yard and has won four of his nine starts, including a hat-trick of victories since October. Hitak won three points for Ellmarie Holden last winter, but has not been seen since he was pulled up in a good hunter chase at Naas in February. Look Dont Touch has decent placed form in handicap chases.
ROCKY'S HOWYA arrives in form from points and, based on his fourth at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival when last seen under Rules, he should be tough to beat. Willitgoahead has won his last 3 starts between the flags and looks the chief threat ahead of Drumnasoo.
It remains to be seen if ROCKY'S HOWYA is as good as he was but last month's comeback run in a point was encouraging.

16/1(-60%) | (13) Da Big Fella 16/1, One win from 29 NH runs. Eighteen runs since last win in 2021. Respectable sixth of 13 in handicap chase at Tramore (21.4f, heavy, 8/1) 33 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Remote fifth in this last year; ran well at Galway two runs back and headgear back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (25/1 -14%) Soldier Of Honour |
25/1(-14%) | (10) Soldier Of Honour 25/1, 18/1, possibly amiss when pulled up in handicap chase at Tipperary (23.4f, good to soft), labouring soon after halfway. Off 8 months. Tongue strap back on. Close third to useful type at Down Royal in January; long way off Atacanter here in March. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RUSHEEN was touched off over hurdles at Limerick's Christmas meeting last year before going one better over 2m4f at Fairyhouse. He returned from nine months off with an encouraging effort to finish fifth in a Clonmel handicap on chase debut and should come on for that experience. Atacanter may have found a marathon trip beyond him last time but he was placed twice over 3m1f earlier in the year, including when second at this course in March. Quornofamonday and Duffys Getaway are hurdle winners who make some appeal in their first handicap over fences, while Whateys Quest will be suited by this trip and market strength would be significant.
RUSHEEN offered something to work on sent chasing after 9 months off at Clonmel and remains on a good mark on hurdles form. Duffys Getaway and Quornofamonday should do better now handicapping and head the dangers.
Having run well over hurdles at this fixture last year, RUSHEEN came back from a layoff to make a promising chase debut at Clonmel

1st (4) (9/2 0%) Balko D'ange |
9/2(0%) | (4) Balko D'ange 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. 5/4, creditable second of 14 in novice hurdle at Wexford (16.4f, heavy) before good second of 14 in novice hurdle (6/4) at this C&D (soft) 40 days ago, jumped poorly and did as well to get as close as he did. Leading player but needs to sharpen up his hurdling. Runner-up in three maidens and his latest conqueror here has progressed to better things. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/2 +32%) Bright Legend |
15/2(+32%) | (2) Bright Legend 15/2, Fairly useful on the Flat and over hurdles. Back on form when third in a 2m handicap hurdle at Listowel in September, ran creditably on the Flat since but failed to build on that when below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cheltenham (16.4f, good to soft) 44 days ago. 0-7 over hurdles but has held his own in strong races; respected back on softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 +47%) St Faz |
17/2(+47%) | (3) St Faz 17/2, Fairly-useful winner over hurdles who offered plenty to work on when third of 15 in novice at Clonmel (17.3f, soft) on debut over fences 26 days ago. Clearly in good heart and not ruled out back over hurdles. Behind Bright Legend two runs back but has since run really well on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (6/1 -9%) Robbies Rock |
6/1(-9%) | (9) Robbies Rock 6/1, Fairly useful Flat winner. Well-backed when taking advantage of lenient mark over hurdles when winning 14-runner handicap hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft, 85/40) 16 days ago, easily. Looks the type who is capable of following up. Recent Cork winner; stiffer mark and company to deal with but lurks on a low weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/2 -80%) Messerschmitt |
9/2(-80%) | (6) Messerschmitt 9/2, Twice-raced winner over hurdles. Fairly useful winner at 8f on flat. 3/1, won 17-runner juvenile hurdle at Galway (16.4f, good to soft) in October, readily. Ran well up in class at Fairyhouse 28 days ago (16.5f, good) and can give another good account here. Third in a Grade 3 latest; interesting handicap debutant with his age allowance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 +0%) The Blaggard |
18/1(+0%) | (8) The Blaggard 18/1, Promising sort. Career best when winning 11-runner novice hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 80 days ago, running on. Unexposed and of interest on handicap debut. Still looked a work in progress when narrowly winning a maiden at Tramore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (11/1 -100%) Eagles Reign |
11/1(-100%) | (1) Eagles Reign 11/1, Fit from a pipe-opener on the Flat, posted a career best effort when doubling his tally in this sphere in 12-runner handicap hurdle (6/1) at Listowel (16f, soft), always holding on. Up in class when 33/1, 25 lengths sixth of 7 to Anzadam in Mullinan Hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, good) 29 days ago. Smart handicapper and it was always going to be tough in a Grade 3 last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (12/1 -41%) Club Manager |
12/1(-41%) | (5) Club Manager 12/1, Creditable fourth of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (14f, good to soft) on the Flat with cheekpieces on 1st time. Stretched by longer trip last time at Navan (22.4f) and can be competitive back down in trip. 10lb higher than for his only hurdle win and that leaves him vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (25/1 -150%) Ifitwasme |
25/1(-150%) | (7) Ifitwasme 25/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles, bolted-up at Listowel (16f soft) in October before running seventeenth of 18 in handicap at Galway (11.8f, heavy) on Flat. Switches back to hurdles today and every chance based on his last run in this sphere. Easy winner of his final hurdle start but a 13lb rise could spell danger. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
An interesting clash between the three and four-year-olds and Cork winner ROBBIES ROCK can strike for the juveniles. Gavin Cromwell's charge was well backed when readily landing an all-aged handicap last time and may be progressive enough to defy what is effectively a 14lb rise. Useful on the Flat, fellow three-year-old Messerschmitt was Grade 3-placed after winning a Galway maiden in October and is also of interest. Eagles Reign had a couple of these rivals behind when landing a valuable four-year-old handicap at Listowel but may be vulnerable under top weight, while Balko D'ange could be on a reasonable opening mark after showing plenty in maidens.
ROBBIES ROCK won in the style of a very well-treated horse 16 days ago, and such was the manner of his victory that a 14 lb rise may not be enough to stop him winning again. Balko d'Ange can make it a hat-trick of seconds and Ifitwasme can go well again in this sphere.
A competitive handicap. BALKO D'ANGE has had the form of his latest defeat here franked and he's interesting now sent handicapping.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/1 +20%) Killaney King |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Killaney King 4/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 15/2, respectable seventh of 18 in handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) 21 days ago, not knocked about. Has good chance on pick of form. Good hurdling debut when second to useful type over this trip a year ago; not much since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 -118%) Rut Daniels |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 +27%) Attaboyarchie |
16/1(+27%) | (4) Attaboyarchie 16/1, Fair hurdler. Tongue strap on for 1st time, first run since leaving Dermot Anthony McLoughlin when respectable eighth of 25 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, soft, 80/1) 22 days ago. The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Dual-purpose performer SAY IT SO has been in terrific form under both codes since midsummer and can provide his trainer with another winner at his local festival meeting. The Raven's Pass gelding has won twice on the level since landing a Killarney handicap hurdle in October and can defy an 8lb hike to register a fifth win in 2024. Rut Daniels was a facile winner of a maiden on the inner track here last month and is open to further improvement after just four starts over flights. Killaney King has yet to build on the promise shown on last year's hurdling debut, which saw him finish second at Punchestown, but he should be all the better for his respectable return to action at Cork three weeks ago.
The thriving SAY IT SO completed a cross-code hat-trick at Dundalk last month and this looks another winnable event for him back over hurdles. The progressive Rut Daniels is next best ahead of Killaney King.
The in-form McNamara yard can strike again with dual-purpose performer SAY IT SO who has been in cracking form in both codes

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SOMMESKY won a bumper on heavy ground at this venue in March. He shaped like a certain future winner when fourth of 25 on hurdling debut at Fairyhouse, drops in class, and should be suited by this longer trip. Custom Taylor showed useful bumper form and stepping back up in distance should suit after her staying-on third on hurdling debut over 2m at Galway. A bumper winner with lots of hurdling experience, Mi Lucky Cailin was over five lengths behind Custom Taylor at Galway. Second in half of her eight starts in this sphere, her best form is over 2m and she is not sure to be suited by this trip.
SOMMESKY shaped encouragingly in a well-run maiden on last month's Fairyhouse hurdling debut and has to be considered the one to beat with improvement on the cards. Custom Taylor looks the obvious one to give him most to think about, with Mi Lucky Cailin appealing as best of the rest.
This looks a good opportunity for course bumper winner SOMMESKY (nap) who ran a lovely race on hurdling debut when fourth at Fairyhouse

16/1(-78%) | (1) Annamaymurt 16/1, Sixth of 14 in novice hurdle (7/1) at this course (18.7f, soft) 40 days ago but shaped better than beaten distance suggests. Blinkers on first time. Best of his six runs was on debut when sixth of 25 in a Naas maiden; hasn't progressed. |

9/2(-35%) | (10) Solsbury Hill 9/2, Lightly-raced type who was fifth of 14 in novice hurdle at Naas (19.5f, good to soft, 4/1) 13 days ago. Raced too keenly and can do better if learning to settle. Wears hood for first-time today. Recent Naas efforts respectable and he's one of the better options. |

28/1(-300%) | (16) The Reel Martello 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Sixth of 10 in bumper (25/1) at Fairyhouse (16.5f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Needs to improve on what she's shown so far on hurdles debut. Tailed off in a bumper latest but previous fifth in a maiden here was mildly encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (20/1 +50%) I Ballyadam Moon |
20/1(+50%) | (5) I Ballyadam Moon 20/1, 80/1, showed more than first time up over hurdles when sixth of 18 in maiden at Clonmel (19.4f, soft) but ran no sort of race when seventeenth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft, 40/1) 16 days ago. Capable of better and useful conditional takes off handy 5 lbs. Penultimate sixth at Clonmel was more encouraging but couldn't build on that at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (50/1 +24%) Marine Ranger |
50/1(+24%) | (6) Marine Ranger 50/1, Unpromising in bumpers and 100/1, thirteenth of 19 in novice hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft) on second hurdles start 16 days ago. Hasn't progressed from an encouraging bumper debut and was 100-1 last time at Cork. |

13/2(-63%) | (4) Hackney Hill 13/2, Keen-going maiden, last seen when sixth of 12 in novice hurdle at Listowel (16.4f, good). Still learning his job that day and interesting on return to course after 7-month break. Hasn't built on the promise of his initial effort but there's time yet. |

|PU| (12) (14/1 -40%) Walk In The Dark |
14/1(-40%) | (12) Walk In The Dark 14/1, Modest hurdler. Bit below form fourth of 11 in handicap chase (17/2) at Killarney (20.4f, good to soft). Off 7 months and now switches from fences to hurdles. Ran surprisingly well in a Tipperary beginners' chase won by Pinkerton in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (50/1 -456%) Restless Lady |
50/1(-456%) | (15) Restless Lady 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 250/1, fifth of 14 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16.6f, soft) 19 days ago, showing more promise than previous efforts. Ran well for a 250-1 chance when about 18l off the winner in a Punchestown maiden. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
For horses that haven't been placed in the past, but RESTLESS LADY served notice that she's going the right way at Punchestown last time. Fifth on that occasion, when a 250/1 chance, Gary Noonan clearly got a good tune out of the Sageburg mare. He unsurprisingly retains the ride and his claim is useful. Going back up in trip is unlikely to do the locally-owned hope any harm either. With a rating of 92. the selection is a little bit off the likes of I Ballyadam Moon on 102, and he's one of a few who need respecting with decent claiming riders booked. Amateur jockey David Doyle ought to get a good spin from Ned In The Park. This fellow is returning off a break. The market can guide with regard to him, and others in a similar situation.
The lightly-raced HACKNEY HILL was still learning on job when last seen on the track, and he looks capable of progressing now returning to action following a 211-day break. Ned In The Park showed promise in bumpers and is interesting on hurdles debut, while I Ballyadam Moon's latest run looks too bad to be true.
Not many to consider. NED IN THE PARK showed enough in his bumpers to believe he's up to winning a maiden of this nature.

3/1(+25%) | (13) Duffys Hodey 3/1, Career best when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle (11/4) at Clonmel (19.4f, soft) 26 days ago by 7½ lengths from Knockbrack Rambler, easily. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Has good chance on form if he's in the mood again. Won at Cork in the style of a sharp improver and may well deal with the 8lb rise. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Last year's winner ANOTHER OCANA may be able to go back-to-back. Louis Archdeacon's charge has also scored at this venue in the interim, taking a handicap chase in April. The son of Court Cave now competes off a mark favourable relative to his rating over fences and there's little doubt that he's been building slowly towards this target since reappearing off a break in October. Trainers Michael Winters and John Flavin are both strong numerically, with two contenders apiece. In truth, though, dangers to Another Ocana are dotted throughout this field. Back on Irish soil, Jack In The Box could be interesting if attracting market support. At the bottom of the weights, The Lucky Lobster starts off for new owners with prospects. Clonmel victor Duffys Hodey is likely to be thereabouts again.
A few of these can do better now handicapping but the percentage call is DUFFYS HODEY, who was better than ever when successful at Clonmel a month ago. French Hill and Stellar Symphony are potential threats.
Given how DUFFYS HODEY emerged from off the pace to win so well at Clonmel, the 8lb rise could have been worse.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
