The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Point-to-point winner MCLAUREY was well backed when second over 2m4f at Tipperary and gave another creditable display when third over 2m3f at Punchestown. It's interesting that connections drop him back in trip, despite the fact that he has been doing his best work late on, and he gets the vote. Did I Ask You That showed plenty of ability in bumpers and made a nice start over hurdles when placed over 2m6f at Punchestown. The winner franked that form in a Grade 2 here on Thursday. Course bumper winner Shoot The Blues likes it soft and had two good hurdle runs over this trip early in the year. He's been off for 10 months but is likely to be primed.
Having displayed ability in bumpers, DID I ASK YOU THAT made a promising return from 19 months off at Punchestown and sure to build on that, he's marginally preferred to Mclaurey, who looks a solid opponent. Shoot The Blues is also of interest.
After two good efforts over further, it is interesting that connections come back to 2m with McLAUREY (nap) and he is chosen

250/1(-213%) | (5) Fourcardrun 250/1, Once-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Cork (24.4f, heavy) on NH debut. Off 9 months. 66-1 and well beaten on hurdling debut at Cork, off 271-days since, best watched. |

12/1(-41%) | (6) Freddie's Back 12/1, €30,000 5-y-o, Malinas gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler The White Mouse and fairly useful hurdler Junior Rattler. Won sole start in points (May 26) so worth a market check. Inchydoney point winner, bought for 30,000 euros, worth a market check for local yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (50/1 -127%) Justlikefire |
50/1(-127%) | (9) Justlikefire 50/1, Once-raced maiden. Ninth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft, 28/1) on NH debut 15 days ago, not knocked about. Up in trip. Beaten 35l when midfield at Cork on debut, new trip might suit but more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (13/2 +70%) Jordann |
13/2(+70%) | (8) Jordann 13/2, Twice-raced maiden. 9/2, sixth of 12 in bumper at Tipperary (16f, good to soft). Off 7 months. Makes hurdles debut. Significantly up in trip. Refused to race on debut, beaten 14.5l in a Tipperary bumper latest, others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Point-to-point and bumper winner WILL THE WISE ran a nice race on hurdling debut over 2m at Punchestown. He didn't give his running in a Grade 2 novice over 2m4f at Navan, but connections clearly feel stamina wasn't the issue there as he now goes up in trip by another furlong. Final Demand, entered in a Grade 1 at Naas in early January, won a Lingstown point-to-point in March and is a half-brother to four winners. He merits the utmost respect. Point-to-point winner Freddie's Back is a half-brother to two staying hurdle winners, while Timmy Tuesday, who had a good run on his hurdling debut a couple of years ago, will be fitter for his comeback at Navan.
Expensive point-recruit can make a winning debut under Rules for his top yard. Penalised-winner Will The Wise is the obvious threat back down in class.
WILL THE WISE was out of his depth on latest but showed promise in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown previously and this trip could suit.

1st (2) (8/13 +32%) Impaire Et Passe |
8/13(+32%) | (2) Impaire Et Passe 8/13, High-class winner up to 22f over hurdles, including Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle in April. After 7 months off, also won 13-runner maiden at Fairyhouse (21.5f, good, 2/13) on chasing debut 28 days ago, readily. The one to beat. Grade 1 winning hurdler, jumped adequately on chasing debut, the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (16/1 +20%) Jordans |
16/1(+20%) | (3) Jordans 16/1, French recruit who won Grade 3 novice chase at Punchestown on second start for current yard in October. Unseated rider second in Craddockstown Novices' Chase at same course (16.3f, good to soft, 4/1) 34 days ago. Hood back on. Won a Punchestown Gr 3 in October, unseated latest, hood returns, could outrun odds. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (16/1 -60%) Search For Glory |
16/1(-60%) | (6) Search For Glory 16/1, Useful hurdler who made winning start in chases at Galway in October. Short-head second of 3 to Stellar Story in Florida Pearl Novices' Chase at Punchestown (24.2f, soft, 15/8) 35 days ago. Remains with potential. Dual Grade 3 winner over hurdles, touched off by Stellar Story latest, can't discount. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (12/1 +14%) Good Land |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Good Land 12/1, Smart winner at 22f over hurdles, successful 3 of 5 starts in 2022/23. After 21 months off, shaped as if retaining ability when third of 18 in maiden at Navan (20.7f, soft, 17/2) on chasing debut 3 weeks ago. Entitled to progress. Grade 1 winner over hurdles, missed last season with a tendon injury, come on for latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 -87%) Sa Majeste |
14/1(-87%) | (5) Sa Majeste 14/1, Useful winner over hurdles at up to 20f. Confirmed promise of chasing debut when digging deep for victory in maiden at Tipperary (23.5f, soft, 11/10) 36 days ago. Respected with further improvement to come. Won over timber at this meeting last year, chase win at 23.5f on latest, trip a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (17/2 +29%) Mirazur West |
17/2(+29%) | (4) Mirazur West 17/2, Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. After 7 months off, better for run when second of 8 in maiden at Tipperary (16.4f, soft, 8/11) on chasing debut 36 days ago, winner has landed Grade 2 mares novice since. Could step forward. Grade 2 winner on heavy over hurdles, beaten fav on chase debut, rain would be a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (6/1 +57%) Waterford Whispers |
6/1(+57%) | (8) Waterford Whispers 6/1, Useful hurdler who matched that form on first start over fences when second to Ile Atlantique in 18-runner maiden at Navan (20.7f, soft, 3/1) 3 weeks ago. Shaped very well last time and he's one to consider. Two-time hurdles winner, decent second on chase debut at Navan, big ask up in grade. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles, IMPAIRE ET PASSE can add another win at the highest level to his tally. He put in a decent round of jumping when winning readily on his chase debut over a bit further at Fairyhouse and may have too much class for his rivals. Search For Glory beat subsequent Tipperary winner Sa Majeste over 2m6f at Galway. He was touched off in a Grade 2 next time, although the winner didn't advertise that form at Leopardstown on Thursday. Waterford Whispers had Good Land back in third when runner-up over 2m4f at Navan, but the latter was returning from a long absence and may be able to turn around that form.
A 5-time graded-race winner over hurdles, IMPAIRE ET PASSE made a smooth transition to chasing when winning at Fairyhouse on return and he looks to hold leading claims as he bids for success at the highest level over fences. Stablemate Sa Majeste has made a promising start in this sphere and could be the main danger, ahead of Waterford Whispers.
IMPAIRE ET PASSE was the best of these over hurdles by some distance and he should have learnt plenty from his chasing debut.

1st (15) (8/1 +76%) Dancing Jeremy |
8/1(+76%) | (15) Dancing Jeremy 8/1, Latest win in chase at Thurles in February. After 5 months off, seventh of 12 in minor event at Listowel (14f, soft, 28/1) on Flat debut in September. Could take a step forward back over fences. Perhaps happier over this trip than some of these and has each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/3 +17%) La Malmason |
10/3(+17%) | (3) La Malmason 10/3, Resumed progress after 9 months off when winning 9-runner handicap chase at Fairyhouse (20f, good, 10/1) 27 days ago, scoring easily having jumped soundly/travelled strongly. Not taken lightly. Up 10lb for Fairyhouse but remains lightly raced and relatively unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (10/1 -54%) Law Ella |
10/1(-54%) | (6) Law Ella 10/1, Has run well when making the frame both starts this season, fourth of 11 in handicap chase at Punchestown (21.3f, soft, 9/2) 35 days ago. Could be in the mix once more. The winner of a mares' beginners' chase; has run well in both her handicaps over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (28/1 -40%) Union Park |
28/1(-40%) | (13) Union Park 28/1, Won 4 times in 2023, over hurdles on the final occasion. However, below-par effort when eleventh of 17 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (20.4f, good to soft, 20/1) in July. Back over fences after almost 6 months off. Claims off this mark on the best of his form and last two defeats were over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (15/2 +25%) Sainte Dona |
15/2(+25%) | (14) Sainte Dona 15/2, After 10 weeks off, run best excused when 28 lengths eighth of 9 to La Malmason in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (20f, good, 9/4) 27 days ago, doing too much too soon. Could still have more to offer in this sphere. Favourite at Fairyhouse last time but made a bad mistake at just the wrong time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -9%) Glengouly |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Glengouly 12/1, Unseated 4 out in Grand National at Aintree, before possibly finding race coming too soon when pulled up in listed handicap chase at Punchestown (24.5f, soft, 22/1) in May. Runner-up in this race on last season's return. Last season didn't end well but has the form to feature off this sort of mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(+45%) | (5) Embittered 18/1, Stepped up recent stable debut when eighth of 12 in Munster National Handicap Chase at this course (24f, good to soft, 50/1) in October, though no threat straight. Others still preferred. Ran okay in the Munster National here but was beaten 13l; now hard to win with. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (11/2 +39%) Battle It Out |
11/2(+39%) | (11) Battle It Out 11/2, Third at Punchestown in May but has gone backwards from that effort in 2 starts since, eleventh of 19 in listed handicap chase at Navan (20.7f, soft, 9/1) 3 weeks ago. Will need to run better than at Navan last time and could be on a tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (28/1 -180%) Macs Charm |
28/1(-180%) | (4) Macs Charm 28/1, After 9 months off, probably needed the run when thirteenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (24.1f, good to soft, 40/1) 34 days ago. Could fare better back over fences. Respectable fifth in the Thyestes earlier this year and that form gives him a shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (15/2 -50%) Shantreusse |
15/2(-50%) | (7) Shantreusse 15/2, After 8 months off, ran creditably when third of 11 in handicap chase at Punchestown (21.3f, soft, 9/2) 35 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and he's a major player with his recent run behind him. 0-9 over fences but another good run in defeat when third at Punchestown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (12) (16/1 +20%) Stormy Judge |
16/1(+20%) | (12) Stormy Judge 16/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2021. Yet to fire this season, eighth of 13 in listed handicap chase at Fairyhouse (29.7f, good, 14/1) 27 days ago. Now back below his last winning mark at least. Rather disappointing when back over fences at Fairyhouse earlier this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) (18/1 -50%) Dutch Schultz |
18/1(-50%) | (8) Dutch Schultz 18/1, Two wins from 5 starts over fences this season, with latest success at Killarney in August. However, let down by jumping when pulled up in handicap chase at Cheltenham (19.8f, good, 12/1) 63 days ago. Was let down by his jumping when back over fences at Cheltenham two months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (14/1 -40%) The Big Chap |
14/1(-40%) | (1) The Big Chap 14/1, C&D winner in October and scored again at Gowran in November. Soon left behind a lesser effort when third of 19 in listed handicap chase at Navan (20.7f, soft, 80/1) 3 weeks ago. Task is now to build on latest run. Good third at Navan but looks to have little margin for error off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (14/1 -17%) Arctic Bresil |
14/1(-17%) | (10) Arctic Bresil 14/1, Remains a maiden over fences, below form after 7 months off when fourteenth of 19 in listed handicap chase at Navan (20.7f, soft, 16/1) 3 weeks ago. Needs to get back on track. 0-6 over fences and hasn't offered all that much in his three handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A chance is taken with DANCING JEREMY at the foot of the handicap. He split two subsequent Punchestown Festival handicap winners when touched off over C&D on his latest chase start in March and has a nice light weight on his back. Glengouly was second in last year's renewal after a nine-month layoff and went on to fill the same position in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran. He lost form afterwards, but clearly runs well fresh and this has probably been the plan for some time. La Malmason showed the benefit of undergoing a procedure for a back problem when readily landing a mares' handicap at Fairyhouse. She's 10lb higher but may be capable of further improvement.
SHANTREUSSE made an encouraging reappearance when third at Punchestown last month and, having been shaping up well last season, he could be ready to get back to winning ways with cheekpieces reapplied. He is taken to see off the challenge of La Malmason, who won in good style on her return, with Law Ella also considered.
A competitive handicap in which a chance is taken on last season's Thyestes runner-up GLENGOULY who might be best caught fresh.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A visor replaces cheekpieces on course winner The Story So Far and he is a big danger to all if market vibes are positive. Two talented young claiming riders may fight it out, though, with Conor Stone-Walsh on DANCINGONDACEILING, preferred to Calum Hogan aboard Hees Dynamite. We haven't seen Dancingondaceiling since he prevailed over this track and trip back in April. The selection's owners have since switched their young Workforce gelding to the Gavin Cromwell yard. It may be that he's being asked a stiff enough question off a mark of 112 for his handicap debut, but the five-year-old has much scope for progression. Those who favour the tried-and-tested will row in behind dual course victor Hees Dynamite. Three miles ought not to be a problem for the son of Ocovango.
DANCINGONDACEILING could be one to follow having joined Gavin Cromwell since his C&D win in April and he can make a successful handicap debut. The Lovely Man, Hees Dynamite and Plain Or Battered are also on the shortlist.
Competitive stuff. JERICHO DE BAUNE ran well in better company at Navan and gets the vote; Plain Or Battered looks tasty each-way

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Connections of handicap first-timer SHERIFFHILL were represented with distinction by 2019 Arkle third-placer Articulum in the past. They've had to be patient with Sheriffhill, who didn't complete when market leader for his point-to-point back in the spring. Afforded a nice break after that, Terence O'Brien competed the well-related Westerner gelding in three maiden hurdles this winter. A little bit of progression can be gleaned from those appearances, which sees him begin in this sphere from a workable mark of 97, and John Shinnick's claim is also helpful. The unexposed selection, up in trip here, can at least be on the premises for a place in the frame. Several have been there and done that with regard to winning at this venue and two of those, Dancing After Dark and Crowsatedappletart, certainly make the shortlist.
Having shaped well on his penultimate start in this sphere, BEGGARS ROCK ran his best race to date when third on chase debut at Cork 2 weeks ago, a final flight mistake arguably costing him victory. Back over hurdles with first-time blinkers enlisted, he could be the answer. Last year's winner Tomjackwilliam is a big danger along with recent winners Dancing After Dark and Crowsatedappletart. Grace Faraday also needs factoring in.
It was pretty straightforward for DANCING AFTER DARK here last time and Philip Donovan can claim his 5lb this time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
On achievements on the racecourse proper to date, Mossy Way sets the standard. From a stable well accustomed to nurturing young talent, the strength of Mossy Way in the market was telling prior to his debut at Fairyhouse at the beginning of the month. It's likely that the Alkaadhem gelding ran into a potential top-notcher, when yielding by seven lengths to Koktail Brut, but there was certainly something to build on from that runner-up effort. On this occasion, though, a chance is taken on L' EVANGELISTE. Very positive vibes have emerged from the Eric McNamara camp regarding this French-bred. He was clearly well regarded when housed at the shrewd Donie Murphy point-to-point outfit, and he came up to the mark in decent fashion at Quakerstown on Easter Sunday. Road Exile is another point-to-point scorer to consider.
ROAD EXILE has joined Gordon Elliott since landing a point and looks the obvious choice for all that Mossy Way sets a reasonable standard based on what he achieved at Fairyhouse on debut. L'Evangelist is another one to consider having got the job done on his only start between the flags.
The form of L'EVANGELISTE'S point-to-point win is working out, he may have been targeted at this and he is related to lots of winners
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
