1st (16) (7/2 -5%) Uhavemeinstitches |
7/2(-5%) | (16) Uhavemeinstitches 7/2, Twice-raced maiden. 66/1, second of 18 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (19.4f, soft) 24 days ago. Big player if backing that up. Encouraging second at Clonmel and she's bred to do better again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (18) (40/1 -186%) Workinonadream |
40/1(-186%) | (18) Workinonadream 40/1, Fair hurdler. 2/1, below form fifth of 9 in novice hurdle at Sligo (25.7f, soft) 63 days ago, unsuited by step up in trip. Back down in trip. 0-9 overall so more exposed than some of these; rated 102 and shouldn't be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (13) (10/3 -78%) Sainte Tartare |
10/3(-78%) | (13) Sainte Tartare 10/3, Half-sister to 5 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Petit Tartare. Hooded, second of 13 in novice hurdle (7/4) at Tramore (21f, heavy) on debut 31 days ago, clear of rest. More to come and probably the one to beat. Pulled hard and found one too good at Tramore, though the pair were clear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (15) (10/1 +50%) Slotty Dotty |
10/1(+50%) | (15) Slotty Dotty 10/1, 16/1, creditable third of 13 in novice hurdle at Tramore (21f, heavy) 31 days ago. Has some 15l to find with Sainte Tartare on their recent Tramore encounter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (12/1 -71%) Rue Taylor |
12/1(-71%) | (5) Rue Taylor 12/1, Emphatic debut winner in bumper at Hexham in May for Toby Bulgin. 7/1, second of 10 in novice hurdle at Wexford (20f, heavy) on hurdles bow 61 days ago, left with lot to do. Promising. Hexham bumper winner; second on hurdle debut but that wasn't a strong race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (17) (125/1 -150%) Whatsupnellie |
125/1(-150%) | (17) Whatsupnellie 125/1, 20/1, tenth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) on hurdles bow 14 days ago. Has twice finished well behind Neon Diamond and there are others to worry about. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (14/1 +30%) Neon Diamond |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Neon Diamond 14/1, Fair winner at 19f in bumpers. Fourth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 9/2) on hurdles bow 14 days ago. Yard in good form. Should have more to offer. Course bumper winner; ran only okay on her switch to hurdling at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (150/1 +0%) Alright Darling |
150/1(+0%) | (7) Alright Darling 150/1, Fifth of 13 in novice hurdle (200/1) at Tramore (21f, heavy) 31 days ago. Insufficient promise in two Tramore maidens (2m5f) to warrant a second look here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (5/2 +69%) Barnahash Primrose |
5/2(+69%) | (1) Barnahash Primrose 5/2, Fairly useful bumper winner (struck at this meeting last year). 24 lengths sixth of 7 to Familiar Dreams in listed bumper at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 2/1) 9 months ago. Could be up to making her presence felt in a race like this now hurdling. Course bumper winner and later placed in a Grade 2; could be useful over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (2) (300/1 -100%) Huscari |
300/1(-100%) | (2) Huscari 300/1, Modest Flat winner. Twice-raced maiden over hurdles. Fifteenth of 21 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, good to soft, 250/1) 40 days ago. Back up in trip. It was low-level stuff on the Flat and she's finished tailed off in both hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (200/1 +0%) Artic Dais |
200/1(+0%) | (8) Artic Dais 200/1, Twelfth of 15 in juvenile hurdle at Ballinrobe (16.3f, good to soft, 50/1) on NH debut. Off 7 months. Up in trip. Tailed off in a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe in May and couldn't recommend. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (200/1 -33%) Mountrivers Lass |
200/1(-33%) | (11) Mountrivers Lass 200/1, Poor hurdler. 125/1, eighth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) 14 days ago. Weak bumper form and now 0-5 over hurdles; held by Neon Diamond on a recent Cork clash. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (80/1 -300%) Meitheal |
80/1(-300%) | (3) Meitheal 80/1, 2 wins from 6 runs this season. Latest win in bumper at Cork in October. Ninth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 8/1) on hurdles bow 14 days ago. Dual bumper winner; perhaps failed to do herself true justice on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (66/1 -100%) Je Suis |
66/1(-100%) | (10) Je Suis 66/1, Fourth of 18 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (19.4f, soft, 25/1) 24 days ago. She was beaten 26l when fourth of 18 in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (150/1 0%) She'll Be Kept |
150/1(0%) | (14) She'll Be Kept 150/1, First run since leaving Desmond Kenneally, 125/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, pulled up in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) on hurdles bow 14 days ago, pulled up after 4 out. Tailed off in a bumper and pulled up in a maiden at Cork; held by some of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (12) (50/1 -25%) Regards To Rose |
50/1(-25%) | (12) Regards To Rose 50/1, Ran out in bumper at Wexford (16f, heavy, 13/2) 61 days ago. Point winner and her hurdles debut was more promising. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Remote third in a maiden hurdle before running out when beaten in a bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (3/1 +75%) Twentyfourcarrot |
3/1(+75%) | (6) Twentyfourcarrot 3/1, 5/2, career best when winning 11-runner bumper at this course (16f, soft) 38 days ago, soon clear. Makes hurdles debut. Up in trip. Fulfilled earlier promise when running away with a bumper here last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SAINTE TARTARE can go one better on her second outing for Willie Mullins. The Saint des Saints mare ran freely on her Irish debut at Tramore last month and was collared in the closing stages by The Great Nudie. The winner has run respectably in a Listed event since. With the run under her belt, Sainte Tartare may settle a bit better now. Barnahash Primrose had some strong bumper form and could the danger on her hurdling debut. The Malinas mare was third in Grade 2 company at Leopardstown's Dublin Racing Festival. Uhavemeinstitches improved when runner-up at Clonmel and is another who has to be on the shortlist.
This should boil down to just a few, with SAINTE TARTARE hard to get away from after her promising second at Tramore on debut. Uhavemeinstitches is the obvious danger if backing up her Clonmel performance. Rue Taylor completes the shortlist.
Uhavemeinstitches looks a lovely prospect but she may find another Mullins horse too strong in the shape of SAINTE TARTARE

1st (1) (7/2 -27%) Big Debates |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Big Debates 7/2, Course winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 40/1, fourth of 10 in handicap chase at Cork (28f, good) 54 days ago. Booking of Smith a plus. One to consider. Ran a surprise race when fourth in the Cork Grand National latest, beaten around 4l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 +61%) Donkey Years |
7/4(+61%) | (2) Donkey Years 7/4, Latest win in hurdle at Listowel in September. Respectable ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle (11/1) at Punchestown (24.1f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase and on a good mark. Dual chase winner respected back over fences for local yard who target this meeting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/2 -22%) Enjoy D'allen |
11/2(-22%) | (3) Enjoy D'allen 11/2, Unreliable individual. Twenty two runs since last win in 2021. 33/1, creditable fourth of 13 in chase at Punchestown (24f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Respectable 4th behind Stumptown on the cross-country course at Punchestown latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (12/1 -167%) Weihnachts |
12/1(-167%) | (7) Weihnachts 12/1, Won 11-runner handicap chase (22/1) at Down Royal (26.2f, good to soft) 8 months ago. Goes well fresh and worth considering. Bounced back to form when winning 3m2f handicap chase at Down Royal in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (4/1 +71%) Jacksons Gold |
4/1(+71%) | (5) Jacksons Gold 4/1, Twenty two runs since last win in 2021. Sixth of 10 in handicap chase (22/1) at Naas (20f, good to soft) 47 days ago. Yet to win over fences but placed 4 times; potentially well handicapped on his best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (14/1 +13%) Aarons Day |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Aarons Day 14/1, 33/1 and visored for 1st time, pulled up in handicap chase at Wexford (19.7f, heavy) 61 days ago, pulled up before last. Lost his form in last eight runs; pulled up in his last three starts over fences; avoid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
James Smith takes a useful 7lb off the back of top-weight BIG DEBATES and he looks to have a big shout in this company. The Sholokhov gelding ran much better back over fences when fourth in the Cork Grand National early last month and remains on the same mark. Weihnachts comes here in winning form, but that was back in April. The Beat Hollow gelding won well at Down Royal, when up in trip, and is capable off this kind of mark. He is one of three in the JP McManus colours. Donkey Years is another to note for local trainer Eric McNamara.
BIG DEBATES caught the eye when finishing strongly in the Cork National and can strike back in trip with a promising conditional up. Donkey Years is on a good mark back chasing, while the returning Weihnachts can go well after scoring at Down Royal when last seen in the spring.
BIG DEBATES hasn't won in two years but a repeat of his Cork Grand National fourth should suffice in a weak contest.

1st (2) (4/5 +54%) Bioluminescence |
4/5(+54%) | (2) Bioluminescence 4/5, Won Shannon Spray Mares Novices' Hurdle here (22.3f, heavy, 7/4) in March. 13/2, possibly amiss when pulled up in Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novices' Hurdle Championship Final at Fairyhouse (20f, heavy) won by Jade De Grugy when last seen. Off 9 months. Will do well over fences. Pulled up in Mares' Novice at Cheltenham; best when the mud is flying; should love chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (13/2 -86%) Paggane |
13/2(-86%) | (6) Paggane 13/2, Fairly useful hurdler, latest win at Kilbeggan in June. Respectable seventh of 20 in handicap hurdle at Navan (25.2f, soft, 11/2) 20 days ago. Makes chase debut. One to note. Needs to improve tackling fences but stable has a fine record in this contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 -11%) Shecouldbeanything |
5/2(-11%) | (1) Shecouldbeanything 5/2, Got a 4-timer up over fences in the autumn. 4¾ lengths last of 5 to Croke Park in Drinmore Novices' Chase at Fairyhouse (20f, good, 14/1) 26 days ago. Won't stay down for long and obvious claims. Not beaten far in the Drinmore despite finishing last latest; the only concern is the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (125/1 -89%) Maid On The Moon |
125/1(-89%) | (5) Maid On The Moon 125/1, Modest chaser. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable third of 15 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (21f, heavy, 20/1) 31 days ago. Can't be fancied. Solid 3rd in Tramore handicap hurdle but 87-rated hurdler has plenty to find with these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (15/2 +17%) Kiltealy Park |
15/2(+17%) | (4) Kiltealy Park 15/2, Fairly useful winner at 21f over hurdles. 11/2, won 15-runner novice chase at Clonmel (17.3f, soft) on debut over fences 24 days ago. Open to progress. On top close home to make a winning chase debut at Clonmel; step up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (40/1 +20%) Pebble Bleu |
40/1(+20%) | (7) Pebble Bleu 40/1, Winner in chase at Punchestown in October. 4/1, bit below form fifth of 10 in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (21.5f, good) 27 days ago. More needed. Won 2m7f Punchestown handicap in October but is up against different class of opposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (100/1 +0%) Implicit |
100/1(+0%) | (3) Implicit 100/1, Latest win in hurdle at Fairyhouse in April. 50/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, first run since leaving W. P. Mullins when eleventh of 18 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (16.1f, good) 6 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Stiff task. No show on first start for new yard over hurdles at Thurles last Saturday; passed over. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BIOLUMINESCENCE is an exciting prospect over fences. The Walk In The Park mare was impressive when winning a Grade 3 over timber here in March and it's no surprise to see her back for an ease in the ground. She disappointed on her last start in Grade 1 company at Fairyhouse, but her future has always looked to be over fences. Shecouldbeanything is the one to beat on chase form. She was far from disgraced, despite finishing last, in the Drinmore at the start of the month and already has a Listed and Grade 3 win under her belt. Paggane was a decent sort over hurdles, but needs to improve for a fence to beat the aforementioned pair.
BIOLUMINESCENCE is very much the type to do well over fences and is taken to make a successful start. Shecouldbeanything had her wings clipped in a Fairyhouse Grade 1 against the males last month but should bounce back. Kiltealy Park did it nicely at Clonmel and isn't discounted up in trip.
BIOLUMINESCENCE won a Grade 3 hurdle here and she bolted up on her sole point outing so is expected to improve sent chasing.

1st (4) (9/1 +25%) Meet And Greet |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Meet And Greet 9/1, Useful hurdler at his best. Off 20 months, sixth of 8 at Punchestown (16.6f, soft, 16/1) 17 days ago. Up in trip. This should reveal more. Can improve stepping up in trip but hard to know how much of his former ability remains. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 +0%) Jigoro |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Jigoro 9/2, Useful hurdler. 4/9, second of 5 in novice chase at Thurles (22.4f, good) on debut over fences 36 days ago, finding less than looked likely. Could figure back down in trip and over hurdles. Beaten at odds-on on chase bow at Thurles on reappearance; needs to improve back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/8 +68%) Karl Des Tourelles |
13/8(+68%) | (2) Karl Des Tourelles 13/8, Useful hurdler. 10/1, very good second of 15 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (24.1f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Decent shout on that showing. Stayed on well when 2nd in 3m Punchestown handicap hurdle latest; intriguing runner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/4 +8%) Jalila Moriviere |
11/4(+8%) | (5) Jalila Moriviere 11/4, Well held in bumper for Paul Nicholls 13 months ago but got the hang of hurdling in France, much improved when 5 lengths second of 11 to promising Jour de Gloire in listed event at Auteuil (17.9f, soft, 17/1) when last seen in May. Clearly of interest now starting out for the Mullins yard. First run for Mullins & McManus, the combination who won this last year with Sa Majeste. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (4/1 -129%) Kilcruit |
4/1(-129%) | (3) Kilcruit 4/1, Very smart winner at 21f in chases. Off 17 months. Good record fresh and no surprise to see him go well back over hurdles. Off the track 513 days but great record fresh and will take all the beating if he's fit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This looks like a nice opportunity for KILCRUIT on his return from a lengthy absence. The Stowaway gelding hasn't been seen since a beaten favourite in the Galway Plate in August 2023. He hasn't quite reached the heights that he promised when runner-up in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper, and winning the Grade 1 contest at Punchestown, but has some smart form nonetheless and could prove the class act in this. Stablemate Jalila Moriviere is an interesting rival. The Joshua Tree filly was last seen finishing second in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil in May. Karl Des Tourelles ran well in handicap company at Punchestown last time and is another to consider.
JALILA MORIVIERE quickly got to grips with hurdling in France, running a cracker behind a promising one at Auteuil when last seen, and she could be the way to go in this tricky contest. Stablemate Kilcruit is feared most ahead of Karl des Tourelles.
KARL DES TOURELLES, who went close in a good 3m Punchestown handicap when last seen, is the most solid option in this contest.

2/1(-7%) | (8) Strutter 2/1, 9/2, career best when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) when last seen 7 months ago. First run for top yard after leaving Nicky Henderson. Up in trip and plenty to like. Won his final race for Nicky Henderson; has to be of interest on debut for Wille Mullins. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (18/1 +28%) Storm Mahler |
18/1(+28%) | (4) Storm Mahler 18/1, Won at this meeting last year. Sixteenth of 18 in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Cork (20f, soft) 19 days ago, again said to have bled. Won at the Christmas meeting here 12 months ago but has been out of form ever since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (25/1 -108%) My Friend The Wind |
25/1(-108%) | (6) My Friend The Wind 25/1, Well-backed 3/1, just fourth of 11 in handicap chase at Killarney (23.4f, soft) 82 days ago. Could figure back over hurdles. 0-10 over fences but two hurdles and went close on final run in this discipline. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (12/1 +40%) Rose Boum |
12/1(+40%) | (12) Rose Boum 12/1, 12/1, creditable seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Wexford (24f, good to soft) 119 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Makes handicap hurdle debut and could do better. Bumper/maiden form not devoid of promise and a tongue-tie is added for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/2 +55%) Sundial |
5/2(+55%) | (2) Sundial 5/2, 8/1, respectable tenth of 23 in handicap hurdle at Navan (22.4f, good to soft) 40 days ago, finding less than looked likely. Cheekpieces back on. Not the easiest to catch right. Below-par last time but fourth in a Cheltenham handicap when last in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (18/1 -13%) King Ferdinand |
18/1(-13%) | (5) King Ferdinand 18/1, Creditable sixth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 25/1) 19 days ago. Others more persuasive. Was found wanting back over hurdles at Cork earlier this month; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 +42%) Optional Mix |
7/1(+42%) | (7) Optional Mix 7/1, Latest win in chase at Kilbeggan in June. 5/1, better when fourth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (20.2f, good to soft) 28 days ago. Won this in 2022 under this rider and could be set for a big run. 2022 winner off this mark and returned to some form when fourth at Thurles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (100/1 -203%) Not So Simple |
100/1(-203%) | (11) Not So Simple 100/1, Latest win in hurdle at Sligo in July 2022. Off over 2 years. Three-time winner but off since September 2022 and turns 11 next week. |

|F| (1) (6/1 +45%) Sarah Beara |
6/1(+45%) | (1) Sarah Beara 6/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. 16/1, fifteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Navan (25.2f, soft) 20 days ago. Down in trip and should bounce back. Two good runs before struggling in a valuable handicap at Navan; this is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (9/1 +10%) Doyen For A Drink |
9/1(+10%) | (10) Doyen For A Drink 9/1, Won at Cartmel in August. Fifth of 10 in novice chase at Tramore (20.4f, good to soft, 5/1) on debut over fences 78 days ago. Back over hurdles. May prefer further and deeper ground, but not dismissed in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) (33/1 -106%) Cooltubrid Eva |
33/1(-106%) | (9) Cooltubrid Eva 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 40/1, below form sixth of 13 in novice hurdle at Tramore (21f, heavy) on return 31 days ago, going in snatches. Went close first time out at this meeting last year and wouldn't be a surprise to see a better showing on handicap debut. Runner-up in a bumper here; minor hurdle form but now makes her handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STRUTTER is an interesting recruit for Willie Mullins. The Racinger gelding won a handicap hurdle for Nicky Henderson when last seen at Uttoxeter in May and is still relatively unexposed. There may be a bit to work with off his mark of 104. Optional Mix won this race off the same mark a couple of years ago and ran a solid race at Thurles last time. She could be the danger. Doyen For A Drink won on her first outing for Ger O'Leary before a decent effort over fences at Tramore. She's another for the shortlist.
There is a good chance STRUTTER remains ahead of his mark starting out for Willie Mullins and he gets the vote over 2022-winner Optional Mix and Billy Lee Swagger.
The eyes are drawn to Strutter but the last time SUNDIAL (nap) ran in cheekpieces, he finished fourth in the Boodles at Cheltenham

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOUNT FERNS may be able to strike again back on softer ground. Conor McNamara reported that his mount didn't handle the better ground at Cork last month having won impressively on his first outing for the yard on easier going at Listowel. He could still be nicely treated. She's On Line was narrowly beaten on her last visit here and could be a danger, despite not showing that form at Musselburgh last time. Cheekpieces are tried now. Apologise was picked up for just 1,000 pounds at the sales in July and is an interesting one, with trainer Gary McGill making the long trip down from County Derry.
BRIDIE'S BEAU could be ready to take a big step forward now handicapping and gets the vote. Scarlet Purse has a similar profile and is one to note, while Mount Ferns can bounce back to form to get in the hunt.
Wide-open. BRIDIE'S BEAU has been quiet in his maidens but handicaps are now a better option and he showed promise in bumpers

2nd (11) (7/2 +22%) Wardens Whisper |
7/2(+22%) | (11) Wardens Whisper 7/2, 6/1, good second of 14 in handicap hurdle at Cork (16.2f, soft) under this rider 14 days ago. Strong claims. Good second at Cork when last seen, no match for the winner; entitled to be bang there. |

9/1(+64%) | (13) Fear The Deere 9/1, 22/1, creditable fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (20.2f, good to soft) 28 days ago. Back down in trip. 5th at Thurles over 2m4f; he is difficult to recommend taking everything into account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (8/1 +0%) New York Style |
8/1(+0%) | (6) New York Style 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Off 6 months. Suspect first time out could be the time to catch her (second in bumper and Tipperary mares' maiden hurdle after absences). Strong in the betting when poor at Listowel on handicap debut but it's still early days. |

11th (1) (7/1 +13%) Musta Lovea Lovea |
7/1(+13%) | (1) Musta Lovea Lovea 7/1, Remains a maiden. Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Navan (20.2f, good to soft, 10/1) 41 days ago, tailing off entering straight. Back down in trip. Cheekpieces back on. 3rd behind Slade Steel last term; below best in 2m4f handicap latest but could bounce back. |

|PU| (5) (20/1 -43%) Nathan Wells |
20/1(-43%) | (5) Nathan Wells 20/1, Maiden. Last of 10 in handicap hurdle at Naas (19.3f, soft, 11/1) 8 months ago. Note market support on return. Tailed off at Naas in April; with a top yard but still difficult to recommend on return. |

|PU| (10) (80/1 -142%) Island Mccoo |
80/1(-142%) | (10) Island Mccoo 80/1, First run since leaving Barry T. Murphy when fourteenth of 22 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cork (20f, soft) 19 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Maiden hurdle form is not without merit but well beaten on his first two handicap starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WARDENS WHISPER has run well on his last couple of outings and looks up to winning a race at this level. The Youmzain gelding chased home the well-backed Robbies Rock on his last outing at Cork, a fortnight ago, and a similar performance may be enough now. Bid Up made a couple of mistakes in the closing stages when fifth in that race and could be a danger on his second handicap outing. Therellbguddaysyet wasn't disgraced in Grade 3 company at Cork last time and doesn't look badly treated on his handicap debut. He's another for the shortlist.
WARDENS WHISPER is going the right way and can strike for his in-form yard. New York Style is interesting on her return for top connections, while 3-y-o Bid Up might not be far away again.
It will be interesting to see what the market thinks of the Charles Byrnes-trained ON YOUR WAY, whose best run came over C&D in October
Ths is the racecard key.
